THE EDITORIALS — the writing prompt.

since I can remember, taylor swift has been the epitome of source story-telling for me. her incessant thoughts and ideals about love and evolving narratives have inspired me through my teens and into adulthood, which has given me such a voice in my own writing.

when she introduced the tortured poets department, I knew it was going to be the album I found the most comfort in. I understood her right away– it felt like it had truly gone back to the early days of her writing; she had come back to this source of needing to write. needing to establish herself. needing to crumble and throw pieces of paper across the room in fits of rage and anger.

I have referenced taylor many times in my writing– used her lyrics and her themes as a source of inspiration with developing my own characters and their own story. I find it fun to be able to idealize and conceptualize parts of her stories and reinvent them to my own, as I think she would love to see from people who find comfort in her work.

so, as a self-proclaimed writer, that brings us here: the editorials.

this is my own anthology, retold and rewritten. each chapter, each version will tell a different part of the same couple's story. each chapter will help develop their story in a nonlinear timeline.

each chapter will be based off of a song from 'the tortured poets department: the anthology'.

each chapter will have a writing prompt.

if you would like to write your own story, please follow along. it doesn't have to be in this order– mine won't be. use any fandom, any characters— real, fake whatever you'd like. one of my favorite passions is being creative and being inspired by other artists.

I have never strayed from my harry writing, so this is new territory for me. but I want to push myself and I want to make myself better for it. don't worry— I will still be writing harry fanfics. he's not going anywhere!
