So I know some of y’all also like Winteriron so here’s a little tease of a fic I’m almost done writing and will be posting on Ao3 soon!

James sighs heavily and tosses the pages onto his desk, shaking his head. “It’s a tough lesson kid, but here it is—don’t trust anyone.”

Tony laughs wetly and looks up at him after wiping his face, eyes red rimmed and throat sore from swallowing his anger and grief.

“What about you? Should I trust you?”

James stares at him for a long time, expression unreadable, eyes dark and distant, and then finally, he smirks and shakes his head, glancing away when he speaks.

“You definitely shouldn’t trust me Tony. I’m a murderer and a liar and when this is all over, you should walk away and forget you ever knew me.”

James’s eyes are dark and stormy when they turn back to Tony, and the pure heat in them makes Tony shiver—no one has ever looked at him like that before. Like he’s desirable, wanted, craved.

“Will you forget me?”

He’s not sure why he asks it, it’s foolish to even hope, but he’s asked, and now he sits, breathless, waiting to see what the other man will say.

James smiles, slow and sad and bittersweet.

“Not even when I’m dead.”

Tony’s breath stutters and he flushes, sitting there pinned under a look so heated and longing it makes his bones ache.

The door opens behind them, shattering the moment, and as Natasha strides in, the intense gaze James has him pinned under breaks, and Tony inhales deeply, barely aware that he’d been holding his breath until his lungs burn at the sudden rush of oxygen.

He can feel James’s gaze on him as he rises and walks away, but their conversation in Russian doesn’t pause at his departure.

Sparing one glance over his shoulder, he meets James’s gaze for a long, breathless moment before the older man turns his attention to the redhead and Tony slips away, heart pounding in his chest.

They call him the Winter Soldier—the leader of the most notorious group in NYC, The Avengers. Tony Stark is New York high society royalty, but one night when he’s almost killed by a Hydra assassin, their two worlds collide.

Tony searches for answers about the assassination attempt on his life and is led deep into the seedy underbelly of the city where men of iron rule with bloody hands.

One man has answers, but will Tony be able to live with the truth?

Could you recommend any winteriron blogs? I love your page btw!

Thank you so much! I don’t know many exclusively winteriron blogs. The ones that I follow tend to be multishippers but let’s see what I have. Also feel free to check out @ad1thi‘s list of content creators because a lot of them are winteriron as well:

@tinytonysnark: mostly stevetony but she’s written a couple winteriron ficlets as well and i love them with all my heart

@yobucky: not an original content creator to the best of my knowledge but reblogs enough winteriron content that you’re pretty much guaranteed to come across something new

@ad1thi: adi always tells me that she started out as winteririon and that really shines through when you read her ficlets. it’s clear that she really loves this ship (also she writes incredible desi! and fem!tony)

@anthonyed: i only recently started following her but i love what i’ve come across so far

@imposter-human: big time multishipper but i especially love her winteriron as it’s what drew me to her blog in the first place

@riotfalling: can’t make a winteriron rec post without mentioning the queen of winteriron herself

@kimannhart: excellent winteriron writer and also a+ at handling trolls and i always like those kinds of people

@thebuckybrigade: run by @crownofstardustandbone and focuses mostly on bucky which is great but you’ll definitely run into other ships there than just winteriron

@beir: absolutely amazing art, seriously i just gape in awe every time they make something new

@hddnone: love them to pieces, will read anything they write

@tisfan and @27dragons: i’m including them as a set because they often work together but everything they write separately is also amazing

@monobuu: the most adorable art ever, i have a calendar with their art and it makes me smile every time i see it
