Happy Easter Friday and Weekend to you all dear friends! May you have a lovely and peaceful holiday ♡ filled with little bunnies and beautiful Easter eggs! This one was a traditional Easter egg I brought from Hungary ❤ Painting Easter eggs is such a great tradition there, they even attach tiny horseshoes on the blowed out, empty eggs with tiny needles and itty hammers and the eggs don't break! #marchmeetthemaker Day 14 : Dreams and plans I'm getting back to the challenge after a few days of absence, to talk about my plans and dreams ♡ I have so many of them! - but I must admit, I'm way better at dreaming than at planning. Planning ahead and setting goals is something I'm learning on the go, and I believe I'm getting better and better at it as time pass and I gain more and more experience 🙌 For this year, I've set up some important dream-goals I want to reach; such as opening a YouTube channel, starting to sell patterns and make tutorials, or rebranding Brotherwolf Handmade and creating a new look and logo for this little pack:) I also plan new product lines, new bears and embroideries - and I have some very big dreams too, for a further future. One of these secret dreams is, to write a book one day and then illustrate it too (a dream I have since forever I think!), all about animals, and to make a Calendar with my cutest beary photos ♡ In the meantime, I want to keep drawing attention on important issues, such as the palm oil conflict, endangered species, global warming or plastic oceans - and help to raise empathy for animals and care for the environment. Sometimes I stop and think that I'm already living a dream, because I can do what I love. Feeling that day by day, I'm slowly getting closer to the dream of being able to make a living of what I love. And giving thanks for it. Hope there is still a long way to go, for Brotherwolf Handmade and for me too, lots of dear little critters to create and lots of stitches to stitch. And hope you're going to walk this way with us, towards new horizons and all these big dreams:) Now I would love to hear yours! Happy Chinese New Year my friends! By the traditional Lunar Calendar today we're embarking on the year 4716 - the Year of the Earth Dog. 🌍🐕 I think I couldn't imagine anything better than a mixture of Earth and Dog (those are two of my favourite topics😍) and the Chinese believe too this will be a very good year: a kind, peaceful and 'down-to-earth' year that will bring prosperity, harmony and a greater equality. I wish it was true and this year beginning today brought us (and our dear Earth and animals) a better year, a more peaceful and harmonic one, with happiness and good luck! Newsletter is out!! (a bit later than I planned but yay:) And this recipe! These cookies are probably my forever favourite and those I loved the most when I was just a little girl - normally they come without glazing and are traditionally sticked together with some marmalade as halves (we call them Linzer biscuits at home in Hungary, because originally they're from a city called Linz in our neighbour country Austria). But this time, in honour of the approaching Valentine's day I wanted to 'paint' and dress them with some glaze - I must confess that this was my first time 'glazing' cookies so probably they are not the prettiest nor the most perfect ones (any advices on cookie glaze mastering?:) but I've had so much fun experimenting with the glaze and the colours! I was adding beetroot juice drop by drop to the natural white glaze and it created the prettiest pinks! 💗 Hope if you try the recipe out, now or maybe anytime later, you'll have a lot of fun and will become a family favourite just as it is in ours! So I was asked by the lovely Sophie @sophies_sigil to post some photos of myself and tag a couple of dear insta-friends too here to join in & help #buildeachotherup ! (Just if you feel like to - but I'd love to see your dear faces!!♡:) Then I thought I would take the opportunity to introduce myself to all those of you new to our little Brotherwolf Pack and also say a huge hi to all my lovely followers from a while back! I'm Judit, the little hustling elf behind all the creations you can see on this page:) Since I can remember I always loved crafting, drawing and everything made by hand; I learned embroidery from one of my dear Grandmothers and inherited the passion for animals from the other. I think I spent my whole childhood drawing or observing animals, sometimes sitting on my favourite tree, sometimes hiding under a blanket castle, happy in my alone-ness and always brainstorming new ideas:) At the age of 18, I went to Budapest to study zoology - I still adore science & biology! One of my favourite topics in the university was Tardigrades or water bears, some microscopic tiny animals that are totally amazing- they can live up to 30 years without water and food! :)) After graduating, I came to Spain seeking a new adventure, and I never left - I've been living here for 7 years now. I started Brotherwolf Handmade almost two years ago (time flies so fast!!) in the hope to unite the two most important things in my life; the huge love I feel for animals and my passion for crafting. The biggest dream I have is to somehow, maybe through my little creations and my humble art, make a difference & manage to draw attention on the urgent environmental problems to help out my dear animal friends, our precious wildlife and the beautiful Mother Nature we have! I have so many new ideas and so many exciting plans for this upcoming 2018 and I can't wait to share them all with you!!! But now I would love to hear something about you too! Hi lovelies, how are you doing? I'm sorry I have disappeared a bit since Halloween but life has been absolutely crazy here as my travel back to Hungary is approaching way too fast (I'm leaving tomorrow! 😱❤) so I've been in a constant rush busy finishing up orders, collecting gifts for everyone and just trying to get everything ready:) I could also finish all the three portraits of this lovely little lady, Clover, and I can confess that during these days of busy stitching she became one of my very favourites and that I'm going to miss her cute little face from my desk when she leaves..❤ I'm also preparing a very special giveaway for these upcoming days and trying to get ready with the next Newsletter too before I leave..so many exciting things happening right now and I also can't wait to leave and spend some time with my friends and family, at home! ENG⬇️ "Cada cima es alcanzable con sólo seguir escalando" - Barry Finlay * "Every mountain top is within reach if you just keep climbing" - Barry Finlay . . ..Today was one of those bad kind of days when somehow everything turns out wrong and disheartening events gather all together on the very same day - it happens sometimes, we all have days like that and I've already learned that there is no good in fighting against it, and the solution is not in self-pity, either. So, after a day like that, instead of feeling sorry for myself what I like to do is to sit down quietly with a glass of wine, watch some favourite series, browse some wonders on Pinterest, about tree houses and dream caravans, maybe eat some cake and embrace the fact that it was not my day, letting it be just as it has been and peacefully accept it all. And usually I got to realize, that actually there's quite a few things I could still be thankful for even on the worst day and that there's always some good things to be happy about. So, I hope you've had a beautiful day ♡ but if not, please be gentle with yourself, let the bitterness and the self-pity go.
