Wishing it was this time last week when I got to see my favorite band at one of the best venues. If only every Thursday night meant watching Switchfoot play, as the sun sets in the background, while every song makes you feel feelings, that you had no idea otherwise existed. happy birthday to the collection of songs that changed everything for me in 2003. 🎂 'the beautiful letdown' - @switchfoot was not only the first CD i remember buying myself (with little outside input), but also the one with the most memories tied to it. it was the soundtrack to everything from seventh grade required reading (i somewhat recall a book titled 'tangerine?') to dancing around in my friends' new house, after she moved away.. (from inside my discman 😃) it made middle school days bearable + long drives to youth retreats exciting. no other record stands out with such significance to my "formative years" (what is that about..? all my years were and continue to be formative.. anyway..) a definitive album in the soundtrack of my life. it's been there through it all + still makes me smile, after millions of spins.
