I have seen snippets of The Bad Guys 2 trailer. 🤩
TRAILER SPOILERS:
Snake has a canonical girlfriend? I kind of expected this would happen considering the implied relationship with Doom in the books. (The kiss scene ewwww. 😵‍💫)
If this is the case, then it's most likely Wolf and Diane are canon too. Their relationship was heavily implied in the first movie, and it's clear it goes on full romance in the books. Heck, even one of the artists who worked on the movie gave them a fan child. So yeah, Wolfington is gonna be a thing for the sequel, no question. 🤣
That doesn't mean we can't still get wholesome moments between Wolf and Snake. I really hope they show the two having their first meeting. Maybe even a scene where Snake tries to save Wolf by getting a escape pod and the two have a heart to heart like in the book.
Speaking of Doom, she is different. She is actually smiling now. 🤣 Like no longer crazy goth mode.
Hogwild. YES! I think they did her good from what I seen, I just want to see what kind of personality she has. I would like to see her be energentic while being kind like Piranha. The two would make a wild duo. 😄
Pam? I don't know... She looks... Like a monkey rather than a cat. 😅
The car the gang had at the end of the short, gone? Guess they were borrowing it.
Wolf... Get's a job? I guess he learned that just being good by itself doesn't pay the bills.
MISTY LUGGINS IS BACK! YES! I enjoy her dynamic with The Bad Guys! Her always trying to keep a close eye on them. 🤣
Diane Vs Pam. I theorized this would happen, now we are getting it. Diane really lets loose aganist her.
No Rhonda... Hmmm... I guess they are saving her for a possible sequel after all. She is Diane/Ellen's teacher after all.
I am curious to see how Marmalade fits into all of this. I really hope they make Cuddles the alien this time to subvert expectations. I want the guinea pig to remain a guinea pig.
Now, here is hoping that this movie is as good as the first. 😅

OOC: Did you just see the leak of The Bad Guys 2 Trailer!!! 😮😲🤯
((I have and I posted my thoughts on my main blog AwesomeX7.
To go more in-depth:
I am pretty hopeful that'll this movie will be good. The charm from the first movie is still there.
I also like the movie imaginings of the girls, espically Hogwild.
After a closer look, I think Pam's design looks good. Though it's surreal to see Pam without the afro though. It was such a standout trait of her design. Maybe it's hidden under the hat she wears and just comedically poofs up when she removes it.
I really want to see what the whole wrestling scene is gonna be like. I bet it's gonna be the sequel's equivilant to the Sunnyside Lab heist. 🤣 Everyone get's dumb wrestling outfits with slapstick ensuing. Hogwild's outfit looks epic though. 😁
Curious to see how Diane's relationship with her old friends will go in the sequel, as so far, this is the biggest change the movie series has done to the books. I anticipate Diane's confrontation with Pam will be dramatic and emotional. I can see the frusteration Diane has as she lays it on Pam, not wanting to fight her old friend, but not wanting Pam to hurt anyone either.
Got to be patient though, the movie is still a long way out. 😉 At least it's certain the Bad Guys will continue on animated.))

New interview with Director Pierre Perifel and producer Damon Ross reveal cool & interesting new information about The Bad Guys 2.
Highlights:
-We can expect a bigger cinematic experience. They expand on the world, along with extraordinary set pieces. Bigger, more elaborate too.
-Is based on the The Bad Guys book series (first movie was inspired from book 1 to 4, this one book 5 to 10) but changes are made, just like with the first movie.
-Has aged up the movie a little bit so adults can enjoy & pick up on all the little winks. The plot is a bit more subtle, refined & complex.
-The movie opens with a prologue of how Wolf got his famous black car.
-Genre hops. The first movie was more like Ocean 11, this one is more like Mission Impossible. They commented that the book series does the same thing.
-They try to record the cast together when they can for a more realistic approach. They love doing recordings together & the new cast members were already friends with some of the current cast.
-The Bad Guys got lured into the Bad Girls trap because of Doom seducing Snake.
Bonus: (from this article) Diane Foxington will have her own storyline in The Bad Guys 2 & her chemistry with Wolf will blossom.

🟢Interview: Director Pierre Perifel talks The Bad Guys 2
"The Bad Guys 2 is James Bond meets Mission Impossible animated action" -director Pierre Perifel & producer Damon Ross
Tumblr media
About the opportunity the first movie left: “We leave the bad guys as they’re trying to be good. They’ve paid their debt to society, and they’re about to be released from prison, and there’s a whole arc after that where they’re ready to be accepted by society.” -Pierre Perifel
About pushing things further:"This new one is really all about opening the universe of ‘The Bad Guys,’ – both story-wise, where we’re going to just explore the new set pieces and characters, just leave the centralized cities, and explore different locations – and more cinematic sets, which is super exciting. We’re pushing the visual style. We reshaped our characters a little bit. We are going to add special effects that feel a bit more like hand-drawn. There’s definitely more line work in the texturing and brush strokes. We’re pushing a bit more stylized. We’re not going too crazy. It’s still going to feel like ‘The Bad Guys” with that very painterly, illustrative look.” -Pierre Perifel
About the Sequel: “They’re struggling a little bit, going from job interviews to try and pay bills that they can’t afford, until they get captured by this trio of super villains, and forced to do one last job. The movie is about testing Wolf’s determination to be a good guy. Did he make the right choice? That really is the big philosophical argument for him.” -Pierre Perifel
"It’s one thing to go good, it’s quite another to stay good” - Damon Ross
About Kitty Kat: "She's Wolf 2.0. She’s super smart, super strong, cooler and younger than Mr. Wolf. Her second-in-command is a Boar. She’s the opposite of Kitty, this bigger-than-life character with a soft heart, but has childish energy. “ He continues, “The last character is a raven. She’s super dry and sarcastic, and her humor is on point.” -Pierre Perifel
About what they're excited fans to see: "What I love about Marvel movies is the opening of this universe where you start with one superhero and just slowly build up a world around it. For us, it was really important to open the world and give the audience something that you can see could have more movies behind that one. For me, it really is a fun ride, but on a much bigger scale and higher octane than the first film. And I think that’s what I’m excited to see how audience react to this.” -Pierre Perifel
"We established our characters in the first movie. Now we get a chance to expand and deepen those characters, the hard work (done) of just introducing them, as in the past. Now we can add the different dimensions and layers and get to know them even better" -Damon Ross
"The books genre hop and he [Australian author Aaron Blabey] spends a little time in one genre. Jumps to another. played in the ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ space. Now we get to ratchet things up; action wise, stake wise and set piece wise, and lean into ‘Mission: Impossible. Even when we were starting the first movie, we thought, if we had a chance to make a second, a third, more movies, we would love to do the same, not just do heist movies in different locations. Nobody does set pieces better than the ‘Mission: Impossible’ franchise. We have a pretty, not-so-subtle nod to that.” -Damon Ross

Possible spoilers (be warned)
I feel like doom is manipulating snake, poor guy. I mean what if he finally found someone that he thought he could trust outside of his friends? And it only turned out that the person he thought actually loved him, was just playing with him…?
I feel like snake might have a moment of reflection in the movie (if my theory is correct which seems a bit likely) and he’s definitely gonna be heartbroken and angry that he let someone manipulate him like that. Probably gonna have some trust issues after that..maybe have a sad moment with wolf (hopefully so, because he might’ve been jealous of their “relationship”). It would be good for character development and make him a bit more relatable..but I don’t know.
what do you think? 🤔
It's been confirmed.
In one of the recent interviews with director Pierre Perifel, he explained that The Bad Guys got lured into The Bad Girl's trap because of Doom seducing Mr. Snake. So, as you suggested, he may have moments of reflection & talk with Wolf about it.
In addition, there's her character description from the official website: "Natasha Lyonne as Doom, a wry raven with a knack for deception."

50 bucks says when Doom pretends to love Snake, she’ll fall in love with him for real by the end.
Interesting theory. Anything is possible!
They were never a couple in the books, however if my memory is correct, they become friends.

Okay, it's said that Doom is gonna be manupilating Snake by pretending to be his girlfriend...
I can't help but imagine Doom trying to get close to the Bad Guys via Snake so he can trick them into working with her team... Only for her to start to grow attached to the gang as she learns of their history, and how they act as one big goofy family.
There could be a wholesome scene where Wolf talks to Doom about Snake and their history. With Wolf wanting to be sure Doom will be the one to keep Snake happy if she is serious about being with him.
The whole experience causes her to have second thoughts and leaves her stuck in a mental battle, not wanting to betray Kitty like Diane did, but not wanting Snake and The Bad Guys to be hurt either.
This totally isn't gonna happen. 😅 But it would make for a good fan fic.

What do you want in the sequel ?
And what Love scenes between Wolf and Diane do you think will be in the sequel because of the one Interview?
I've already answered a similar ask about what I wish to see in The Bad Guys 2. However now that the trailer is out, we have a better idea what to expect. Looks like they continue to adapt the rest of the books, but in their own way.
What I wish most, as stated in the previous ask, is Marmalade's alien identity reveal. It is pretty much guaranteed with what we've seen in the trailer (the rocket ship) & with the confirmation that Richard Ayoade is reprising his role as professor Marmalade. As I've mentioned before, director Pierre Perifel previously stated they wanted to do the reveal in the first movie, but ended up going against it to keep the story grounded, and would instead do it in a sequel. I would also like a cool 3rd act with lots of action & fighting. Pierre Perifel also confirmed there'll be bigger set pieces & a lot more action. Another thing that's been confirmed is that the sequel is aged up compared to the first movie so that adults can enjoy it too.
More shenanigans with the crew, seeing them together as a family with Diane & the small kitten he's adopted. They could form the"Shadow Squad G" near the end, like in the books, to stop Marmalade's invasion.

The Bad Guys 2 trailer color script by art director Floriane Marchix.
"Celebrating the release of our trailer! Since the colorscript of our full movie is done, I've edited a little "trailer" cut version since that's the only thing I can show for now. I loved doing it on our first movie, and loved it even more on this sequel." -Floriane Marchix
Based on the books from Aaron Blabey.
