Hey so it’s not like really close but I’d say to check out the Theatre Cafe Show Merchandise shop.
Not many places other than the theatres themselves sell merch for musicals in London. You can always try wandering round Forbidden Planet and checking but they’re more of a geeky nerd shop, however they have a big book section downstairs with all sorts of books so you could find some PotO books down there (or other theatre books).
Other than that, you’ve got the regular London shops that sell like the Big Ben models and the “I ❤️ London” stuff that you’d think would have musicals things but in reality you might find a canvas bag with the phantom mask stuck on the side.
Try the Theatre Cafe Show Merchansise shop. That is your best chance of finding good quality merch.
Hope this helps!!
Hey theater fans who have been to Her Majesty’s Theatre in London, do you know if there are any shops nearby that sell theater/PotO merch? I know the theatre itself has some merch, but I was wondering if there are any other stores that are worth checking out?

Hi! Here’s what I caught so far in the game. Unfortunately I don’t have any clips or screenshots because my computer is pooey. Warning, this is very long! Then my next post will have my theories and analysis pookies ❤️
In the beginning, it shows clips of the protagonist’s set up. A magazine appears with the headline of Indigo Park shuts down
There’s two graffiti outside of the park, one has wings the other says nostalgia so mostly likely other trespassers like our protagonist has came through
Rambley is always watching you through the cameras or the tv screen
Gear conveniently falls down when he asks us to find it
He hasn’t seen a visitor for at least 8 years
There is no signs of Salem anywhere besides in Rambley’s ride (now ruined) and their keychain in the merchandise store
speaking of the merchandise store, the hole up the ceiling looks like somebody is building up to reach there. 🤨 maybe it correlates to the gear conveniently falling
The creators head statue follows us
Something collapsed behind us when we went inside the tunnel going to Rambley’s ride
Inside the tunnel, all picture frames are up beside one. Is it Lloyd’s or Salem’s?
THERES A PICTURE OF LLOYD AND RAMBLEY SHAKING HANDS but Rambley starts glitching
Mollie Macaw is stalking us
After mollie macaws scene of the train ride one of the birds are down
She says something after the lights go off in Finley’s scene
Salem’s cut out is cut in half and is ruined
Mollie’s animatronic says “Not Rambley, he hurts Lloyd” maybe she’s copying what a staff said and therefore that’s why Rambley is not allowed backstage
Inside the backstage of Rambley’s ride when we fix it, there’s a graffiti saying “Lloyds limos” or something behind Finley’s animatronic
HOLY SHIT MOLLIE MACAW LITERALLY SNEAKS UP BEHIND YOU IN THE CURTAINS AROUND LLOYD’s SCENE???
Mollie macaw is shown chasing on the rail road track
The statue of Rambley eyes looks like a fan?
There’s food on the floor that looks like bait inside the cafe
Rambley’s eyes have a loading circle when he plays something (like the advertisement and audio recording)
Mollie plush (Important) mollie meet and greet in jet steam junction was around summer (maybe June) maybe they were meeting the flesh mascot
Lloyd plush according to the protagonist, felt like he was used a lot more
Indigo park would send items to people’s houses advertisements and dvds?
One curtain is torn at the theatre
Rambley says he doesn’t have access to the backstage, but for some reason the cameras still follows us? Maybe it’s because there’s no tv screen and it’s only the camera
Files are dropped backstage
There is a Lloyd statue in the backstage
A loud screech sound is played when you use your critter cuff on Lloyd
There’s a secret area in the arcade game, Mollie is trapped inside a cage
I think squirrels are making love in the background. LMAOOO
Starts to glitch a little when Salem appears
Starts to glitch after we beat the game
Rambleberry popped out of the arcade machine. Rambley is fully aware of it and says maybe one day he can jump out to take a bite?
Mollie drools and bleeds out in the slide
She takes a bite out of us when we get caught
Rambley stops talking about the Mascots? (Scene after Mollie chases us and gets decapitated, he starts talking about less staffs and less visitors)
Mollie says something while chasing us
Rambley claims that he can’t do certain things and needs human authorization?? 🤨
Mollie is now dead lol
Rambley talks about the registration after this scene, and saying it’s exhausting to say?
He also try’s out the trademark which according to him, expired yesterday
Royal ranglers room closed on us by Rambley, says it’s only for them and tells us maybe we can grow big and strong to enter. What’s behind there? Why can’t he upgrade us now if we’re helping him?
When we enter the ranglers room, it shows camera footage of everywhere
Rambley head has a footage of two employees talking, asking if the flesh mascots will put them out of business. According to the protagonist they retired these. Rambley says he’s never seen anybody wear them before
Poodle plush, what is its significance? Rambley’s pretty mean about it. He starts glitching when he mentions a non-brand indigo park toy?
Retro Lloyd plush according to the protagonist there was a cartoon of indigo park. Rambley starts to be mad about it, or maybe sarcastic? He also seems to glitch every time he expresses extreme emotions
During his song, Rambley expresses his feelings and hope? He also plead with you to stay with him (what’s up with ai’s and their abandonment issues? Not complaining 🔥)
that’s all I have!! Thanks for reading hehe :P

Let your S(e)oul take you where you long to be - The Charlotte Theatre
pt 2 of my Seoul travelogue
August is high summer in Korea, actually a crazy month to see Phantom, but timings just lined up that way and also a part of me is just scared what if I put this off for so long and something comes up. 😬😬
Do check @fadinglandtragedy's very comprehensive ticketing and Korea travel post on what to expect, but I also will share some of my personal observations below!
About Charlotte Theatre
How to get there
Easy to find from the Jamsil subway station (just follow the arrows) but prepare for a maze if you are coming from the Lotte World Tower mall. The mall complex is HUGE. For the two days I was there, I had to go to the English-speaking info counter or ask the roaming guards — one of them was not even aware there's a theatre in the area. 😭 Actually, maybe the Naver maps app might provide more insight…
Where to eat
The Charlotte Theatre has an in-house fancy restaurant and a nearby Angel-in-us cafe, which sells cakes and sandwiches. But if you're looking for a warm, filling meal, you're probably better off eating elsewhere.
Tip: There's a Lotte Mart B1-B2 of the Lotte World Tower mall, and you can take an early dinner at their food court or take out their boxed foods to heat at your accommodations later. They also slash off the prices of certain food late in the afternoon, so yay discounts!
Note that after the evening show, you'll come out to a closed mall, and places in Seoul close early at night unless you're around the night market. I had to fend off with some ramen at the nearest convenience store on my first show day.
Ofc you can also eat at the mall proper, but the selections are not that wide. Also take note that Lotte World Tower mall is a luxury mall…
Where to hang out
If you've got time to burn and you just want to explore the area near the theatre, the Lotte World Tower area doesn't only have a mall, but also a famous amusement park, an aquarium, an observatory, a posh department store, underground shops, and a nearby lake (Seokchon Lake). The Lotte cinemas play the Phantom Korea ad on these gigantic monitors by the entrance - super impressive 👌. As for me, I shopped at Olive Young! As your girl would.
Dress code
I saw a lot of casual wear, actually! Jeans, sneakers, and even shorts. They don't seem strict. Just be presentable and absolutely no harm if you decide to wear a dress and something a bit more formal. I did see at least one cosplayer with a Victorian-inspired look.
Floors
The theatre has two levels of seats but the building itself has four floors in all (the seating is at the third and fourth). Make sure to go through all four! There's so much Phantom to see.
Second level seating
I can't speak for the first level, but I sat at the second level and there was hardly any leg room. You will really have to squeeze in and ask the occupants to please give way. I just did as the Seoullites do and said 잠시만요 (jamsimanyo) whenever I have to pass through.
Restroom
There are washrooms at the third (or second?) and fourth floor of the theatre with numerous cubicles. The fourth floor tends to be less crowded by virtue of being at a higher level I suppose.
Photo zones
1st floor - The rose and mask background and a digital casting board (the pink bear at the entrance is leaving after August)
2nd floor - The whole casting board
3rd floor - The Ghost mascot
4th floor - Charlotte Theatre's restaurant and a smaller casting board
The stairs are lined with Phantom masks and roses.
Merchandise
First floor and third floor of the theatre, they charge 100 KRW for a paper bag, but it's not very sturdy. The brochure is thick and glorious and a MUST buy. If you're an enamel pin collector, there's a couple of Seoul exclusives. Then there's just phone stuff, shirts, towel, a mask, albums...idk I def preferred the ones at Blue Square 10 years ago.
Access
There's an escalator going to the second floor of the theatre but beyond that, you have to take the lift or take the stairs.
Waiting area
Just plop on one of the plush seats scattered around the theatre or chill by the tables.
Theatre etiquette
The usual, eating and drinking inside are not allowed and I wish I understand half of what the ushers are saying but you absolutely can't film the curtain call. The ushers will find you. (Not me, I saw someone did it).
Indoor temperature
Not sure what the weather is now but the theatre was like a sauna when I visited. I decided to go sleeveless on my second day (something that is not often seen among Koreans, they usually cover with a cute outerwear, but you do see it). Not sure how this will be in the fall months, but I def didn't need to wear a sweater or anything.
View from the second floor
People asked me why I didn't go for VIP tickets when I'm rarely in Seoul. It is because, my friend, I am a cheapskate and the tickets are really expensive. 😭😭😭😭 And I planned to see the show twice. There's also the fact that I'm not actually fluent in Korean, I pick up bits and pieces from watching Korean drama. 🤓 So I thought, I don't need to be close too much. I DID cave in and bought a set of binoculars, which I highly recommend if you wanna zoom in to the acting. The theatre does rent out binoculars but you'll need a Korean number. :/
That said, it's a great view even if you sit at the back and you can see the chandelier closely and make out Jeon Dong-seok's silhouette on the angel and think, "Good God he IS tall…This thing can hold his weight, right?"
Just be mindful of your height, if you are short like me, maybe don't take the first row of the balcony coz you'll have to tilt your neck to look over the railing or move in front and you might get called out for it.
When I saw my non-Phantom show, I was taking photos of the theatre (Seoul Arts Centre) before the show started and I think the guy behind me got concerned that I'd be doing this often ;_; so he asked me (in Korean) if I could please lean against my seat. Annnd ever since I tried to keep glued to my chair and got scared to even stretch my neck lol.
After the show
Just retrace your way to the subway or follow your maps app. Do not be like me and just blindly follow where the audiences are going coz that led me to an underground parking lot at close to 12 AM in the morning and I had to run back up the stairs to chase the last train. 👍
Bring an umbrella
It rains now and then and there's a bit of a walk to the station and not all foot paths are covered. Again, do not be like me.
Stage door
To this date, the closest to a "stage-door" experience (the 'way home') is after a Cho Seung-woo show (provided it's not stormy). Because the actor does come out to the parking lot to briefly greet and wave at fans before going home (by car or a motorbike — yes, he'll pass and wave at people even from a motorbike). That is the full extent of it - no signatures or selfies. I think it's understandable as covid is still a real threat. As for the other actors, I only see them rushing out, ducking, and bowing (and for Song Eun-hye's case, putting on a helmet and hopping on a kickboard 😄).
Prepare to wait for 45 minutes for CSW to come out though.
Any questions? I'd be happy to try to answer!
Actual review next!!

Visiting Salem
A few years ago I traveled to Salem for Halloween week. It was a fun trip but not at all the quaint town I had expected. And it was busy. Salem eagerly leans into its witch history and new age spiritualism, sporting many psychic readings and occult shops. To be honest, a large part of my stay was spent walking, shopping, and eating so I didn’t get to visit as quite as many museums as I would have liked. I’ve included a brief review of some of the places I stopped in at while I was there:
Jolie Tea - this was tucked away from the Essex Street pedestrian mall, which made it the perfect place to escape the crowds and blustery wind. They had a selection of seasonal tea blends made in shop. I stopped in several times and took several pounds of tea back as a visiting gift for my aunt. I know it’s an odd compliment but I’m in love with their upholstery and the wallpaper in their restroom. Very limited seating (only 3 tables, one of which only seats two people), but quiet enough at the times I went as to not be a problem.
Count Orlok’s Nightmare Gallery - located on Essex street (the main thoroughfare, foot traffic only) this gallery houses memorabilia and trivia from classic and modern horror cinema. I recommend it if you fancy yourself a horror movie buff. Tickets were $9 for adults and did not need to be purchased in advance. The tour is self guided, walk in any time.
O'Neill’s Pub & Restaurant - honestly I popped in here just intending to use the facilities and get off my feet for a bit but they sell the best pumpkin ale I’ve had to date. The rim is dusted with cinnamon sugar and the head is dusted with a crescent moon of spice. I enthusiastically returned twice a day for the duration of the trip (I was on holiday after all). Their shepherd’s pie was quite good and the waitresses were happy to share insider advice on the best places to park, how to avoid traffic, etc.
Howard Street Cemetery - I visited this cemetery under the impression that the headstone for Giles Corey was there. It wasn’t. There was a memorial at one time but it was toppled by a vandal in 2015. Nevertheless it was a nice, quiet place to stop and take a breather from the crowds.
The Witch House - this is a bit of a misnomer as the house belonged to Jonathan Corwin, one of the judges of the trials. The house is the only structure left in the city that has direct ties to the trials and gives a much more authentic impression of daily life. The tour is self guided but there are volunteers stationed throughout ready to talk about particular items or history of the individuals that resided there. They have a limited capacity they’re required to stick to because of the house’s age so you may be in for a bit of a wait if you catch it during a busy hour. Tickets are about $10 for adults, sold in the gift shop.
Salem Witch Museum - They start the tour by seating visitors in a dark theatre. A recording plays, lighting up vignettes at scheduled points. These vignettes are maybe roughly 9 feet up from where you will be seated, not in sequential order, and cover a full 360° so swiveling your head up and around to find it is necessary. The recording and displays are rather dated; my guess is that they haven’t been changed since the museum’s founding in 1972 (to be honest I was rather expecting Vincent Prince to narrate). After this the group is lead into a small gallery with various placards and pop culture and news printouts. A guide will deliver a brief monologue and then you are free to view the gallery or filter into the gift shop.
I was rather perturbed that the museum spent effort linking hysteria of the Salem witch trials to McCarthyism (and any other time the American media described a thing as a “witch hunt”) but did not give but the briefest lip service to the misogyny that drove the witch trials and the selection of its victims. Anxiety about attacks from indigenous people were mentioned, but nothing of the political tension of territory and property lines, the disputes between Salem and its many pastors, or the institution of witchcraft as a prosecutable offense in a court of common law by King James. For a museum on the trials it was very light on the details. I found more information available in the gift shop’s surprisingly thorough selection of books. You do have to buy tickets ($21 adults) somewhat in advance for tours that rotate on (I think) 45 minute intervals.
Peabody Essex Museum - The Peabody Essex Museum is huge and hosts art and history exhibits. When I visited they had an exhibit on Qing Dynasty empresses and had just finished reconstructing brick by brick, tile by tile, a real Qing Dynasty ancestral home imported from Huizhou, China, Salem’s sister city. General admission is $20 for adults.
The Hocus Pocus House - The house used for the exterior of Max and Dani’s in the 1993 movie is a popular stop but it is quite a long walk away from the main tourist hub. I’m sure there are bus tours that would take you there, but like the spendthrift I am, I hoofed it. You can’t enter the house as it is a private residence so taking photos from across the street is the best you can get. The benefit of walking are the scenic views (at last! The quaint town I had imagined!) and meeting a neighbor a few doors down. She had fashioned a hedge from seashells and had delightful watchdog whose name escapes me, save that it was compound and started with “Sir.” I caught her outside gardening - or rather she caught me - and had a chat about the house, tourists, and living in Salem.
Witch City Mall - free multi-story parking! Get there early.
The Coven’s Cottage - Tools, ingredients, books, and more with an exclusive focus on Asatru.
HausWitch Home + Healing - prime example of the self-care industry meets new age spiritualism.
Artemisia Botanicals - Every powdered or raw ingredient you could likely hope for. I saw advertisements for their tea reading service but none was offered when I visited.
Hex Old World Witchery - a sister store to the one in New Orleans. It sells tools, spell ingredients, enchanted candles, jewelry, and some very jaunty pointed hats for ladies and gents.
Life Alive Organic Cafe - Organic vegan cafe. It has the Sanderson Sisters painted as vegetables on their window.
Opus - A fusion restaurant. The food was amazing and the service was great. They have live shows in their basement level. A perfect place for cocktails.
Adriatic Restaurant - Mediterranean and Italian fare. Decent, but pricey.
Caramel Pasteries & Macarons - Easily the best macarons in town. They also sell ice cream and a limited selection of coffee and tea.
The Satanic Temple Headquarters - Baphomet had just returned from his extended stay in Arkansas. The connected Salem Art Gallery and library was also open, and there were some rather striking vine and wicker sculpture work to greet you. And as expected, the people were quite friendly and helpful with recommendations for what else to do and see in Salem. The only downside is that it is a bit of a hike from downtown, but a much shorter one than the Hocus Pocus house. Self-guided tour is $15 for adults.
Street vendors - there are many of these out and about close to Halloween. You can buy whole bags (and whole bags only) of apple cider donuts and other goodies. Not something I normally go for but it was enjoyable. Bring cash.
Additional notes
There are loads of people in costume days before Halloween. If you are shyly deliberating on whether or not to pack a costume, you needn’t think on it further. Do it and have fun, my darling.
However, I should warn you that if you are one of those that plans to wave a movie replica wand at traffic while shouting bad Latin, I can assure you that you aren’t the first to attempt this and the drivers will not be patient with you. Better to hustle along.
Salem has a noise ordinance that goes into affect at 10 PM on Halloween night. According to the local waitresses most folks don't begin to trickle into town until 10 AM or so that day.
Essex street is cobbled, please wear comfortable shoes.
Shop around! There are many shops selling largely the same merchandise. By and large you'll see the same prices but if you've got a sharp enough eye you can save yourself a bit of cash.
Reserve your stay, wherever it is, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I reserved in January and still had to book a room 20 minutes away, which required a car rental.
Speaking of which, if you're driving in from outside Salem, the lanes merge and disappear frequently and it can be a little stressful. Most of the drive into Salem is single lane through neighborhoods - school bus traffic included.
The temperature in late October is mild but the wind chill coming off the sea makes it feel at least 10°F cooler. And it’s quite windy - wear your hair up. Preferably add a hat lest you show up on someone’s doorstep looking like Sadako, as I did.

JULY 2020 GOLD STAR MEDIA SCHEDULES & REVIEW
Members may earn 3 points each (up to 6 points) for writing, by the end of August 7 KST:
A solo para of 400+ words based on their monthly schedule (does not count toward your monthly total).
A thread of six posts (three per participant, including the starter) based on their monthly schedule.
Threads do not have to take place directly during an important date listed on the schedule, but must be related to what the muse is mentioned to be doing in the paragraph explaining their schedule/the company’s schedule for the month and/or their thoughts on the mentioned activities or lack thereof.
These schedules may be updated throughout the month if new information needs to be added.
Reminder: June schedule posts are due by the end of July 7 KST. Please do not post schedule posts in the fmdschedule tag.
OVERALL COMPANY
All Gold Star idols are scheduled for a meeting with upper management the day before the news of the upcoming base Culture Complex is leaked to the media. They’re given a more detailed rundown of plans for the facility than the public is, although not all the details are made clear. In the meeting, everyone is informed Gold Star has partnered once again with BC and Dimensions to fund the construction of a new building in Gangnam meant to become the ideal location in the world for fans of idols. The building will include a museum with exhibits dedicated to the history and music of each group and soloist, a handful of theatre venues for intimate concerts and company-sponsored musical productions, a merchandise mall, a cafe, and many other fan experiences. (admin note: For reference, imagine something similar to SM COEX Artium —with over three times the budget.) The idols won’t spend much time there even once it’s finished being built, but content starring them is critical to the financial success of the venture, so the next several months leading up to its opening will have all three companies’ idols working hard to make its opening a success. This month, that mostly involves producing photo shoots: all idols will attend a photo shoot session this month where three categories of photo will be tacked: profile pictures for the artist wall (grayscale, professional and serious tone), images for life-sized cutouts of each idol (wardrobe will consist of jeans and a single-color top for each idol, fun and bright tone with fanservicable poses such as here and here encouraged) and 3D imaging for 3D-printed figures of each idol.
Important dates:
July 5: base Culture Complex briefing meeting.
July 12-July 31: Photo shoots for base Culture Complex, as individual muse schedule allows, at unspecified photo studio in Gangnam (admin note: muses may encounter idols from other companies while there).
GOLD STAR SOLOIST 1
Now that “Blueming” promotions are complete, it’s time for her to prepare for her concert tour. The set list includes her latest songs as well as older favorites. This month, the focus is making sure she has the performances of each song down with hours spent in the practice room, with extra time and focus spent on the ones that involve back-up dancers.
Important dates:
N/A
GOLD STAR SOLOIST 2
Now that her concert tour is done, she’s been granted a vacation from the company. She’s allowed to schedule her vacation as she wishes throughout the month (she may travel abroad if she wishes, with or without a manager), though she will need to be in Seoul a few days out of the month to listen to demos for potential new songs as Gold Star has been throwing around the idea of a holiday release at the end of this year for her.
Important dates:
N/A
GOLD STAR SOLOIST 3
The release of his English-language album approaches and as the track list has now been finalized, he’ll be expected to spend long hours in the recording studio this month to finish laying down the final vocal tracks on the album before he heads into the final stretch of album preparations next month.
Important dates:
N/A
SILHOUETTE
On their tenth anniversary, they receive a rare video by way of their manager’s phone from CEO Bang Sunyoung herself congratulating them on ten years. In it, she gives encouragement for their comeback and thanks them for their dedication to the company for ten years. On the same day, they host a mini outdoor fanmeeting for fans in honor of the occasion. Their new comeback releases on the third and it seems Gold Star’s marketing of a reinvention of Silhouette for their tenth anniversary worked, as the song climbs up the charts to a Gaon number one in its third week
Important dates:
July 1: Ten year anniversary mini fanmeeting.
July 3: Release of “Sixth Sense” & Sixth Sense album, music show promotions continue through August 3.
July 6: Guesting on MBC FM Starry Night radio show.
July 13: Guesting on SBS PowerFM Youngstreet radio show.
July 15: Radio Star appearance filming (to be aired: July 22).
ARIA
Aria finishes off music show promotions mid-month after a busy schedule of music show promotions. Before that, they make an appearance on School Attack, where they’ll visit a middle school. At the beginning of filming, they’ll split themselves up into pairs of their choosing and be given a mission where they pick three Korean consonants and must find a food with at least two of the consonants in it in order to eat before they leave for the school. If they fail, they have to walk to get to the school instead of riding the bus with the rest of the members. Once they are all at the school, the members must find clues to lead them to start the school attack performance for the students. They’ll also be filming the first two episodes of Queendom on July 16 and July 30 (the latter date also happens to be their debut anniversary), and they’ve been asked to prepare a performance of their representative hit song, “Ah-Choo”. Full details of Queendom filming for this month can be found here.
Important dates:
July 6: School Attack appearance filming (to air: July 13).
July 15: End of music show promotions.
July 16: Queendom episode one filming (introductions).
July 30: Queendom episode one & two filming (representative hit song stage).
ORIGIN
July is a month of filming for Origin. In total, five music videos will be filmed for their comeback this month, though only three will consist of the full group. Those three videos will be filmed while Origin is on a trip to California from July 21 to July 27 and will include their “Black Swan” music video, to be filmed at The Los Angeles Theatre, their “On” Kinetic Manifesto, to be filmed near the Sepulveda Dam, and the week-long filming of their official “On” music video, to be filmed at Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park. The members will continue to practice their performances while abroad.
Important dates:
July 8: “Shadow” MV filming (lead rapper only).
July 16: “Ego” MV filming (main dancer/rapper only).
July 21-July 27: “On” Official MV filming in Agua Dulce, CA, USA.
July 21: “Black Swan” MV filming in Los Angeles, CA, USA.
July 22: “On” Kinetic Manifesto MV filming in Los Angeles, CA, USA.
IMPULSE
Before Impulse makes their comeback at the end of the month, they need to shoot their comeback teasers along with the music video for their comeback. Shortly after they make their comeback, they’ll need to return to the dance studio to record a name tag survival dance practice for fans in addition to their standard dance practice, which will be filmed before their comeback.
Important dates:
July 1: Comeback teaser photo shoot [2] [3] [4].
July 7: “You Calling My Name” MV filming.
July 27: Release of “You Calling My Name” & Call My Name album, music show promotions continue through August 27.
FUSE
Their comeback date is finalized for the end of next month, meaning they have to begin to wrap up preparations this month. In addition to fittings for outfits that are quite a change from their “Zimalabim” and “Umpah Umpah” concepts, they have the album photo book to shoot and, near the end of the month, the music video. Fuse’s creative team and management begin to feel more pressure for Fuse’s comeback to do well after the company sees the success of Silhouette’s comeback, which could threaten Fuse’s place on Gold Star’s priority list, and the pressure management is feeling is evident as their own comeback gets closer.
Important dates:
July 6: MV and stage outfit fittings.
July 15: Album photo book shoot.
July 25: “Psycho” MV filming.
ELEMENT
To keep fans entertained while Element is away from activities, Gold Star will have them shoot a video for Youtube of them playing a game of Mafia in the first half of the month. For their third anniversary, Gold Star has planned a day of livestreams for Element to interact with their fans. Each member will be asked to do a solo thirty minute to one hour livestream some time when they’re available on July 19 before 6pm KST, at which point, all four members will hold a one to two hour group livestream where they’ll talk to fans and play games and reflect on the last three and a half years since they released their first pre-debut single.
Important dates:
July 10: Mafia Youtube video filming.
July 19: Third debut anniversary VLive.
FEMME FATALE
Femme Fatale only have concert dates in one city this month (as they continue to film for their video diaries series), which is a change from all of the traveling they’ve been doing since the beginning of the year. While they’re in Seoul, they’ll lay down the needed vocals for the upcoming release of the Japanese version of their Kill This Love EP, but other than that, they’ll have some downtime this month, though they’re still busy enough they won’t get a true vacation.
Important dates:
July 17: Femme Fatale In Your Area World Tour concert at IMPACT Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
July 18: Femme Fatale In Your Area World Tour concert at IMPACT Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
July 19: Femme Fatale In Your Area World Tour concert at IMPACT Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

A solo para of 400+ words based on their monthly schedule (does not count toward your monthly limit).
A thread of six posts (three per participant, including the starter) based on the monthly schedule.

These schedules may be updated throughout the month if new information needs to be added.
Reminder: June schedule posts are due by the end of July 7 KST. Please do not post schedule posts in the fmdschedule tag.
Overall Company
All BC idols are scheduled for a meeting with upper management the day before the news of the upcoming base Culture Complex is leaked to the media. They’re given a more detailed rundown of plans for the facility than the public is, although not all the details are made clear. In the meeting, everyone is informed BC has partnered once again with Dimensions and Gold Star to fund the construction of a new building in Gangnam meant to become the ideal location in the world for fans of idols.
BC Soloist 1
Since everything is filmed and shot for her comeback, most of July is about practicing and perfecting her performance, which has been the biggest praise point since her debut. Upon its release, “Love U” isn’t as big of a smash hit as “Roller Coaster” was, but, as a summer release, the improvement from “Why Don’t You Know”’s already impressive performance is clear. While her true staying power has yet to proven seeing as she’s still a rookie soloist, her future looks promising in a way upper management is clearly pleased with for their first soloist in a decade.
Important dates:
July 29: Release of “Love U” & Blooming Blue mini-album, music show promotions continue through August 29.
July 30: Guesting on SBS Power FM Cultwo Show radio show.
July 31: First debut anniversary.
July 31: Guesting on Arirang Radio Super K-Pop radio show.
Decipher
To promote their comeback, Decipher have a magazine shoot to do for Marie Claire Korea on the first of the month. It’s an inside spread in the issue that will be cover by their juniors WISH. While their maknae heads back overseas to tour with CHAMPION, the rest of the group will keep practicing to make their comeback on the 13th. Promotions are kept to a minimum, without any fansigns to boost album sales, and, unfortunately, the more mellow vibe of the song doesn’t click with the public for the summer as well as BC would have hoped, leaving them with an abysmal chart performance, though the comeback still brings in a profit thanks to their dedicated fans.
Important dates:
July 1: Photo shoot for Marie Claire Korea’s August issue.
July 13: Release of “Love Paint” & Canvas mini-album, music show promotions continue through August 13.
July 15: Guesting on MBC FM Starry Night radio show.
July 26: Release of Mr. Sunshine OST “And I”.

No schedules for the month.

↳ CHAMPION
CHAMPION has already broken records, soaring to the top of the Billboard Hot 200 album chart last month, a feat only Origin has previously achieved. The achievement has BC and Dimensions quite proud and the lack of significant performance on the Korean charts isn’t considered a big deal to them due to the overseas success. This month, they begin their tour in Texas (flying out from Seoul late on July 5) and hold five US dates total before they fly out back to Seoul in the early morning hours of July 12. As previously mentioned, the two involves all of the songs on their mini-album, two unreleased songs (”Dangerous Woman” and “With You”), and solo stages by those who have made solo debuts before the tour.
Important dates:
July 6: CHAMPION: We Are The Future Live concert at Dickies Arena in Forth Worth, TX, USA.
July 8: CHAMPION: We Are The Future Live concert at United Center in Chicago, IL, USA.
July 9: CHAMPION: We Are The Future Live concert at Infinite Energy Center in Duluth, GA, USA.
July 10: CHAMPION: We Are The Future Live concert at EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, VA, USA.
July 11: CHAMPION: We Are The Future Live concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY, USA.
BEE
The members will fly out from Seoul to the US on July 2 to shoot their photo book for their album. They’ll return to Seoul on July 5 and two days later will have another photo shoot, this time for Elle Korea’s August issue. The members will take on a retro photo shoot concept for the shoot. Shortly after, they’ll shoot the music video for “Darling”, and then the rest of the month is focused on preparing for their Seoul concerts. Each member will continue to rehearse their self-chosen solo cover stages for the concert (admin reminder: please avoid choosing songs that could be claimed as points claimed songs and have not been released in-’verse). At the end of the month, they’ll perform “I Like That”, “I Swear”, “Touch My Body”, and “Loving U” at a resort festival.
Important dates:
July 3: Album photobook shoot in Los Angeles, CA, USA.
July 7: Photo shoot for Elle Korea’s August issue.
July 10: “Darling” MV & making videos [2] filming.
July 24: Live Concert: B concert at Olympic Hall in Seoul.
July 25: Live Concert: B concert at Olympic Hall in Seoul.
July 29: Performance at Blue One Resort K-Pop Festival in Gyeongju (also performing: Knight, Lipstick and Gal.actic).

Important dates:
July 29: Performance at Blue One Resort K-Pop Festival in Gyeongju (also performing: Knight, Lipstick and Gal.actic).
Knight
After a photo shoot for Dazed early in the month and following the two CHAMPION subunit members' returns from the US, Knight is slated to begin comeback preparations for an album release in October. After playing it safer the last few comebacks, Knight is returning to something a little more experimental again. The full album should be recorded before they perform at a resort festival at the end of the month. Their set will consist of “Love Shot”, “Enough”, and their older summer hit “Kokobop”.
Important dates:
July 2: Photo shoot for Dazed Korea’s August issue.
July 29: Performance at Blue One Resort K-Pop Festival in Gyeongju (also performing: BEE, Lipstick and Gal.actic).

July 11: CHAMPION: We Are The Future Live concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY, USA.
↳ Knight Light
They’ll film their last music video rather early in the month, after which point, they only need to rehearse throughout the month to be ready for their showcase and music show stages next month. Since the two Knight members don’t have much in the way of choreographed dancing, most of the rehearsal focus is on working well off of each other and getting all three title tracks into their muscle memory.
Important dates:
July 9: “Closer To You” MV filming.
Lipstick
Lipstick finishes their promotions for “Wild” in the first half of the month. While it doesn’t earn them any music show wins, the song has been fairly well-received in comparison to their last release. They’ll make a short appearance on MBC Starry Night radio show before kicking into the last week of promotions, but as an eight year senior group, music shows to connect with fans are the main focus. Near the end of the month, they’ll perform “Wild”, “Glue”, and “Lil’ Touch” at a resort festival, but work on Queendom is also in full force. They’ll be filming the first two episodes of Queendom on July 16 and July 30 (the latter date also happens to be their debut anniversary), and they’ve been asked to prepare a performance of their representative hit song, “Genie”. Full details of Queendom filming for this month can be found here.

CHARM
CHARM continues to tour this month, with three Asian dates this time. It’s a rather relaxed month since they only have three tour dates, so the members will have some down time in between concerts, though there are general rehearsals and schedules to be attended to that will prevent them from taking any kind of true vacation abroad. If they’d like and they have family in South Korea, the company will permit them to have enough of a break to take a day trip or two to visit family, but longer trips or trips for other reasons will not be approved by the company this month to keep the members out of trouble and focused on staying focused on their tour.
Important dates:
July 4: Ode To You tour concert at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Philippines.
July 11: Ode To You tour concert at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Following a photo shoot for the cover of Marie Claire Korea’s August issue, the members of WISH are back off to Japan shortly after for a series of three concerts, the first since the release of their latest Japanese album. They won’t stay long for any additional promotions and will only be in Aichi from July 9 to July 13. Once they get back, they’ll get some down time, though there are general rehearsals and schedules to be attended to that will prevent them from taking any kind of true vacation abroad. If they’d like and they have family in South Korea, the company will permit them to have enough of a break to take a day trip or two to visit family, but longer trips or trips for other reasons will not be approved by the company this month to keep the members out of trouble and focused on staying focused on their tour.

OVERALL COMPANY
All Dimensions idols are scheduled for a meeting with upper management the day before the news of the upcoming base Culture Complex is leaked to the media. They’re given a more detailed rundown of plans for the facility than the public is, although not all the details are made clear. In the meeting, everyone is informed Dimensions has partnered once again with BC and Gold Star to fund the construction of a new building in Gangnam meant to become the ideal location in the world for fans of idols.
DIMENSIONS SOLOIST 1
As promised, she begins work on her next comeback this month with a new digital single. She’s planned to make her comeback in October, so this month isn’t too busy as she’s only in the studio to record the final vocals for the song. At the end of the month, she’ll have her first fittings for potential stage outfits. The goal for this round of fittings is mainly to get her opinion on potential styling.
Important dates:
July 30: First MV and stage outfit fittings.
DIMENSIONS SOLOIST 2
He’ll be debuting a new song, “When You Call My Name”, at his concert next month, so in addition to rehearsals for the concert, he’ll be in the studio to record the song throughout the month of July. He won’t be releasing it until November, but the song needs to be recorded in full now so that a backing track can be made, though he’ll be expected to sing it mostly live at his concert.
Important dates:
N/A.
DIMENSIONS SOLOIST 3
She’ll be holding her first ever solo concert in September, something Dimensions will be announcing this month as tickets go on sale for her fans and the public. It’s a big deal for her to hold solo concerts already and is a big show of faith from the company in her following the impressive performance of her debut, even if the venue isn’t huge. She’ll be rehearsing live performances all of her released songs and OSTs, and will also be able to cover up to three songs of her choice (as long as they don’t conflict with her public image too much). Rehearsals will be filmed for her OnStyle reality show.
Important dates:
N/A
GAL.ACTIC
News of a new comeback comes to the members in the form of a meeting this month. At the meeting, they get to hear demos of the upcoming mini-album and are informed that the concept for their comeback will be “black swan”, something more elegant and darker than their recent comebacks. Throughout the month, they’ll be in the studio recording the album. They also have a photo shoot for Arena Homme Plus and they’ll be performing “B.B.B”, “Someone Like U”, and “Be Ambitious” at a festival at the end of the month.
Important dates:
July 6: Photo shoot for Arena Homme Plus’s August issue.
July 29: Performance at Blue One Resort K-Pop Festival in Gyeongju (also performing: BEE, Knight, and Lipstick).
ALIEN
After they have the fittings for the “Follow” MV and comeback music show stages, Alien will move on to wrapping up comeback preparations by filming their comeback MV on July 7. Filming is simple compared to the overseas travel and acting they’ve had to do for some recent releases, as they’ll be filming solo and dance shots on a series of sets this time. After that, they’ll spend the next two weeks hard at work in the dance studio to fine-tune all of the details of their performance until the day of their comeback on July 20.
Important dates:
July 1: Comeback MV and stage outfit fittings.
July 7: “Follow” M/V filming.
July 14: Release of pre-release track “Find You”.

The day after that photo shoot, MARS will be informed that they’ll begin preparing for a Japanese comeback this month by studio recording their Japanese comeback single, “Can’t Say”.
Important dates:
July 2: Jambangee summer ad campaign photo shoot.
7ROPHY
Now that 7ROPHY wrapped their most recent comeback promotions, they get a break from the cycle of comeback preparations for this month. Instead, they’ve been asked to participate in two magazine photo shoots that Dimensions has been happy to accept on their behalf to keep them in the public eye despite the disappointing performance of their last two singles. They’ll be the cover models of August’s issue of The Star and will have an inside spread in Nylon Korea the same month. For Queendom, they’ll be filming the first two episodes on July 16 and July 30, and they’ve been asked to prepare a performance of their representative hit song, “Latata”. Full details of Queendom filming for this month can be found here.
Important dates:
July 1: Photo shoot for Nylon Korea’s August issue.
July 4: Photo shoot for The Star’s August issue.
July 16: Queendom episode one filming (introductions).
July 30: Queendom episode one & two filming (representative hit song stage).
UNITY
The first two days of the month, Unity fits in both the photo shoot for their album photo book and a photo shoot and interview for Harper’s Bazaar Korea’s August issue. After that, the CHAMPION sub-unit members will leave for the US, and once they return, it’s the final month leading up to their long-awaited comeback, so pre-promotion activity kicks into high gear, including MV filming and the filming of a series of videos that will be released in the lead up to the album on Dimensions’ Youtube channel.
Important dates:

Aloe You Vera Much (Branjie) - Mac
AN: This is a sequel to You Make My Daisy, my Branjie flower shop and bakery AU. It isn’t essential that you read YMMD to understand this, but it sure would help at a few points. Anyway…thanks a million to my darlings’ grapefruit and Dane for beta-ing and being the absolute sweetest angels, as well as ripping me to shreds and making me write better than I think I ever have. Ya’ll the best.
Summary: Vanessa and Brooke navigate their new relationship and gross out all their friends with how adorable they are.
The months that follow their initial coupling are filled with long nights spent walking up and down the street/sidewalk/road, talking about nothing and everything, and early mornings trading lazy kisses for so long that they are both almost late.
The days are filled with longing for their lunch break to hurry the fuck up so they can see each other. It’s stupid and silly but it makes Brooke’s insides fill with butterflies, nonetheless.
On days that Brooke goes on break before Vanessa, she waits patiently at one of the few tables inside the bakery, stealing glances at Vanessa’s face while she pounds some dough, sets up some display, or stares back at her. Vanessa’s hair was always falling into her face in a way that Brooke thought couldn’t possibly be up to code with proper food handling practices, but she would never complain as the vision of a sweaty and exhausted Vanessa was one of her truly favorite sights.
The younger girl would smile up at her from under her long curls and Brooke would swear she gets more beautiful as the days pass.
They would walk hand in hand to the local cafe, Shuga would smile knowingly and make a comment about them being attached at the hip. Brooke would roll her eyes and pull Vanessa another inch closer. Shuga would smile wider and hand them their orders, knowing them by heart by now.
Vanessa would thank her sweetly and wave to the other employees. Brooke would feel bad for not knowing their names, but she would reason with herself that Vanessa usually came by to grab Brooke and herself a drink before they closed up, so she had more time to get to know them.
After getting yelled at the past few times for eating on the roof of the movie theatre, they had tried to switch up their lunch location. The small bookshop near the end of the street/sidewalk/road was often too quiet for both their tastes, but the small food court was too loud. They often settled for the fire escape on the side of the abandoned record store. They would trade lovesick smiles and bites of their sandwiches. Brooke would eat the pickles off Vanessa’s sandwich and ask her why she even got pickles if she didn’t like them. Vanessa would smile sweetly and say that Brooke liked them.
Brooke would try to kiss her, but Vanessa would squeal that she tasted like pickles.
Vanessa would kiss her anyway.
It went on this way for months. Five months to be exact.
Brooke was waiting for the inevitable crash. The Punk’d crew to come out and tell her it had all been an elaborate joke. She was waiting for her self-destructive nature to get the better of her. Or her perfectionist tendencies to drive Vanessa away. It is incredible to Brooke how all her flaws are taken in stride. Vanessa sees them as a part of Brooke. And she adores every part of Brooke.
Brooke doesn’t know how she got so lucky.
Vanessa doesn’t either.
The day starts like any other. With Vanessa’s eyes being the first thing Brooke sees upon waking. Brooke swears she could never see anything else for the rest of her life and she would be happy.
Vanessa kisses her sweetly; morning breath be damned. And Brooke never minds. Vanessa always tastes like Vanessa - and home.
The younger girl smiles at her, eyes still unfocused without her contacts, looking to all the world like a woman in love. Brooke dares to hope she is. Dares to hope she isn’t the only one falling completely hopelessly in love.
She won’t say it yet. Even after five months, it feels too soon.
Vanessa brushes the hair out of her face and places a quick kiss to Brooke’s forehead before throwing off the blankets. She moves around the apartment with a kind of confidence that makes Brooke’s heart soar. Vanessa looks like she belongs there.
She does. They both know she does.
The younger girl pulls on a shirt - not hers - and walks to the kitchen. Brooke lays in bed, content to listen to Vanessa hum to herself and look around for anything to eat. Vanessa scolds Brooke from the room over about not having anything to eat in the damn house other than coffee, which is probably not nutritious enough to eat raw. Brooke chuckles lightly and rouses enough strength to get up and follow her girlfriend’s complaints.
Thirty minutes later they are both caffeinated and ready to leave. They part ways in the middle of the sidewalk/street/road with a quick peck and a longing glance.
Brooke laments how her heart sinks when Vanessa’s curls disappear from view. She reminds herself that they will literally be reunited in mere hours.
It doesn’t placate her.
The day passes in a haze. With Valentine’s Day coming up, Brooke is swamped with orders. Her business is really blossoming. Brooke’s newest collection of flowers is selling like crazy. It’s stupid, she knows it is, but she named the boquet Vanessa. It’s cheesy and stupid, but it also makes her incredibly happy to have so many people ask for her girlfriend’s name - even if they just want flowers.
Three o’clock comes faster than usual. Brooke looks up to the chime of the door to see the subject of her affections looking at the newest display. She suddenly feels nervous. What if it’s too much? What if Vanessa finds it creepy? What if-
All Brooke’s fears are gone the moment Vanessa finishes reading the card on the table. She flashes Brooke a dazzling smile, as a few tears prick the edges of her eyes.
“I love them.” Vanessa says against her lips.
I love you. Brooke wants to say.“I’m glad.” She says instead.
Vanessa holds her extra close on their way to the cafe.
Shuga gives her a look. “She saw the flowers?”
Brooke nods.
Shuga had been the first one to notice them in the window of the shop. She had held Brooke’s hands in hers when Brooke confessed her fears and told her not to worry so much.
Shuga rolls her eyes fondly. “Girl, you two are sweeter’n sugar.”
“Hate us cause you aint us.” Vanessa jokes back.
Shuga rolls her eyes again as she slides their food across the counter. “Okay, lovebirds. Make yourselves scarce ‘fore you scare any of my customers with your canoodling.”
Brooke winks at her and grabs Vanessa’s ass on the way out.
The fire escape is particularly precarious today and the chill in the air doesn’t help with the stability.
It probably isn’t the best idea to be eating outside in this weather, but a rountines a routine. Vanessa is bundled up and Brooke thinks she looks like an adorable marshmallow. She tells her as much.
Vanessa rolls her eyes. “You say that cause you wanna eat me.”
“Well I know for a fact that you taste better than this sandwich.” Brooke winks at her and bites into her sandwich making a show of her aggressiveness.
Vanessa laughs out loud. Her head thrown back and mouth full of food. Brooke thinks she has never looked more beautiful. She tells her as much. Vanessa leans in to kiss her for what must be the hundredth time that day, when a clattering startles the both of them.
It seems to be coming from inside the abandoned record store.
Vanessa gets up, food forgotten as she looks over the railing. Brooke follows suit, hands coming to rest around Vanessa’s waist, knowing her girlfriend to be the clumsiest person alive, when she sees a flash of what looks like fur. Vanessa shoots her a glance and they share a confused look.
Vanessa, ever the adventurer starts to climb down the fire escape, after firmly securing her sandwich in her mouth. Brooke calls after her. “Baby, what are you doing?”
“I wanna know what that was.” Her voice is muffled by the food.
“What if it was a ghost, ‘Nessa? And you’re about to get your ass haunted for the rest of your life?”
“Well then you wouldn’t be the only one haunting my ass.”
Brooke bites back a chuckle and follows behind her girlfriend.
They hear more rustling as they near the bottom of the ladder. Vanessa pulls at the door on the side of the shop. It doesn’t budge. She pulls harder. Brooke dismisses her with a flick of her hand and pulls it open on the first try.
“I loosened it up for you.”
“Sure you did, baby.”
Vanessa mumbles something under her breath in Spanish and Brooke laughs lightly, trying to ease her nerves.
The door creaks on its hinges and the layer of dust on the floor confirms that it really had been abandoned up until this point.
Vanessa goes in first, careful not to disturb anything. The shop looks as if everything had been left exactly the way it was. Merchandise is abundant and priced accordingly. The only sign that time has passed is the thin layer of dust coating everything.
A sudden movement in the back corner causes both their heads to turn.
Vanessa approaches the area with slow steps.
Brooke stays where she is, cautious of her surroundings, but calls out to Vanessa, worry eating at her and slipping into her voice. “It’s probably just some animal ‘Nessa.”
Vanessa doesn’t turn around to answer. “Just…give me a second.”
Vanessa gets closer and closer. This time, they both get a good look at the beast in question when it suddenly sprints across the store to jump on top of the cassette display.
It was a small - clearly underfed - grey cat.
It hisses as Vanessa approaches once more.
Brooke was now incredibly worried, and didn’t try to stop the concern from infiltrating her voice. “‘Nessa be careful! It could be feral.”
“He’s not.” Vanessa says calmly.
“You don’t know that.”
“I grew up on a farm, Brooke. I’ve seen plenty of feral cats.”
Brooke’s worry vanishes for a second, surprise taking over. “You grew up on a farm?”
Vanessa casts her eyes down a second before responding. “Yup. Cows, chickens, and sheep. The full nine yards.”
Brooke’s voice softens, as it becomes clear that there is still much to learn about her girlfriend. “You never told me that.”
Vanessa shrugs. “It’s not something I’m proud of.” She looks at her feet, not meeting Brooke’s eyes.
The cat hisses again.
Brooke takes a step back and reaches for Vanessa’s hand to pull her away. “We’ll come back to that topic, but for now, you need to back up.”
“I’m fine, B. Really.”
Vanessa approaches once more. The cat’s back is arched and just as it looks like it is about to pounce, Vanessa speaks in a soft voice. “Hey there little guy.” The cat softens a bit. “Qué está pasando? What’s goin on?”
The cat doesn’t respond but he does sink down a little, letting a bit more of the tension dissipate.
Brooke smiles lightly at her girlfriend’s words. As they had gotten to know each other better, Vanessa would slip into Spanish every now and then. She hardly ever realized she was doing it. A confused look on Brooke’s face often was her only cue.
Brooke smiles lightly now letting a bit of the tension in her own shoulders dissipate. Vanessa slipping into Spanish means she is comfortable.
Vanessa takes her sandwich and in slow sure movements, careful not to spook the cat more, places it lightly on top of the cassettes. The cat looks at her judgingly for a second before sniffing the sandwich.
“Adelante.”
Without warning, he sticks his head in and gobbles up the meat in three seconds flat. He looks at Vanessa again, still unsure and then suddenly, a noise rings out in the quiet shop. It takes a minute for Brooke to realize it is coming from the small animal. It sounds almost as if it is calling out.
Another cat appears from between the bookshelves, making his way to the other one by weaving through Brooke’s legs.
This cat is dark brown with little streaks of lighter brown interspersed throughout his fur, but the dust makes him look almost black.
The brown cat hops up beside his companion and noses at the pickles for a moment before gobbling one down.
Vanessa bumps Brooke’s shoulder with her own. “Look, that one’s you. He likes pickles.”
Brooke looks at Vanessa like she is crazy. God she loves her so much.
“C’mon, let’s get closer.”
Brooke wants to protest. Wants to tell her that they should be getting back, but she never could say no to Vanessa.
The cats tense as they get closer, but when Vanessa puts out her hand, slow but sure, they sniff her curiously. The grey one takes an interest in her and begins to nuzzle up to Vanessa’s hand, even headbutting it at one point.
Vanessa smiles at him. “That one’s me. He’s got a little fire in him. That Puerto Rican sass.”
Brooke laughs lightly, still cautious of spooking the animals.
Vanessa turns to Brooke and grabs her hand, holding it out to the two strays in her own. The cats sniff again but quickly get over their hesticance and start licking at Brooke’s hand. Their sandpaper tongues make tingles crawl up her back.
Brooke opens her mouth again, worry etched on her face. Vanessa cuts her off before she even gets a word out. “You gotta relax, baby. Everything’s fine. I wouldn’t put you in danger, you know that.”
Brooke nods her head. Vanessa’s promise rings in her ears.
“I’m not gonna hurt you, Brooke.”
And fuck Brooke believed her.
Still does. After so many instances where they could have blown up at each other, torn the whole relationship to shreds, they didn’t. Vanessa, for being called a hot-head, never blew up at Brooke. If she was mad she would take time to herself, collect her thoughts, then come back. Brooke tried to do the same. Tried to let things go. Tried to not let the crippling fear of not being good enough for Vanessa not eat at her everyday. Vanessa, bless her, would hold her hand and tell her that she was enough. She was always enough and she always would be enough.
The cats make it through the first sandwich and Brooke hands over hers as well. The cats lick her hand more fervently this time.
“I think they like you.” Vanessa says stepping back, a smile in her voice.
Brooke looks back at the younger girl who has her phone out and is snapping a picture.
“They aren’t the only ones.” Vanessa says, winking at her over her phone. Brooke smiles and rolls her eyes.
“You are ridiculous.”
“You love it.”
“I do.” The fondness in Brooke’s voice is palpable.
They trade silly smiles.
The grey cat hops down from the shelf to nuzzle against Brooke’s feet. The older girl picks him up cautiously, and he immediately softens into her arms. Brooke smiles at him, and looks up to see Vanessa looking at Brooke like she is her world.
“I love you.”
Vanessa’s voice is fond and her eyes are wide. She looks shocked that she said it, but not so shocked that she wants to take it back.
Brooke is speechless.
“C’mon, Mary. Don’t leave me hangin.” Vanessa’s words are joking but her tone is nervous.
Brooke walks slowly up to her, careful not to jarr the cat in her arms. Vanessa places her soft hands on Brooke’s cheeks. “I know you’re scared. You don’t gotta worry so much. You ain’t the only one in this.”
Brooke smiles softly. She has no idea why she was worried. Vanessa always makes her feel safe, even when doing something that feels so dangerous.
“I love you too.”
Vanessa’s face breaks into a smile that looks like it belongs there. “See, that wasn’t so hard was it?”
Brooke shakes her head. Her own smile feeling permanently etched on her face.
Vanessa pulls back to pet at the brown cat. “Now, which one of us is takin these little guys home?”
Brooke’s smile falters. “‘Nessa, we can’t.” She tries to sound firm, tries to leave no question in her voice.
“Why not?” Vanessa looks up at her from under her eyelashes with her quintessential puppy dog eyes.
Brooke doesn’t have an answer. They are both financially stable enough. They have the time to care for them, and- aww look the brown one is licking at Vanessa’s face…
…They both get back to work almost thirty minutes late. Nina, the primary owner of the bakery, shakes her head at Vanessa, and barely bites back a smile. If it were anyone but Vanessa, they would be fired on the spot. But it’s Vanessa. And Nina has a soft spot for romance, and seeing Brooke happy.
Over the past few months, Nina had come in to Brooke’s shop every now and again. She used the excuse that she was ‘picking up flowers for the missus,’ but Brooke knows it’s really to check up on her and Vanessa.
Nina is nosey but she does it out of love. She and Brooke had hit it off the second they met and it seemed clear then to be the start of a long friendship.
Nina waves at Brooke who is watching anxiously from outside. Brooke blushes and waves back timidly, arms full from carrying both cats.
As the blonde turns away to open up her shop, Nina whispers to Monet, “We were like that once.” The younger woman is sitting on the counter, even though she knows it drives Nina crazy.
She rolls her eyes at her wife. “We were never thatsappy.”
Nina looks at her with a raised eyebrow. “Must I remind you of the time you waited outside my house with-”
Monet cuts her off. “No. No. Ok. I get it. We were disgusting.”
Nina flashes her a triumphant smile and turns to watch as Brooke closes the door to her shop behind her.
***
Brooke lets the cats roam about her shop, only having to stop them from eating the hydrangeas twice. She looks up every now and then from her orders to see them running about and playing with each other. There is no use fighting the fond smile that begs to adorn her face, so Brooke doesn’t try.
At one point, the grey one hops up on the counter where Brooke is working on an order and starts meowing until Brooke picks him up. She continues her work, cat held securely in her arms.
The day passes quickly and before she knows it, she is flipping off the open sign. Brooke luers the cats to the front door with a click of her tongue. She throws on her backpack, picks the cats up, and closes the door with her foot, arms full.
Brooke sees Vanessa through the window, the younger girl waving to Nina and Monet. They wave to Vanessa and smirk at her lovesick expression when she can’t see them.
Vanessa walks slowly up to Brooke and the cats, smiling at the grey one who is licking at Brooke’s face.
“So, you thought of names yet?” Vanessa asks.
“I figured you had that covered.”
Vanessa smiles. She does.
“Henry and Apollo.”
“I like that.”
“Me too.”

Key bits of LSE Campus
Today, we are tackling the one thing that will have been on every incoming students’ mind at some point…LSE Campus.
There are maps and guides that you can download from the official LSE website, but we are going to give you a whistle-stop tour of all the key buildings, facilities and places that you need to know about, and where you can find them.
1. Student Services Centre
This is your go-to place if you have a university-related problem that you need help or advice with. The Student Services Centre can help you with admissions, registration, fees, financial support, immigration and visas, exams, results and lots more. It is located in the LSE Old Building and is open Monday – Friday, 11am-4pm.
Find out more about the full range of services offered by the Student Services Centre here.
Address: Student Services Centre, (Ground Floor) Old Building, Houghton Street, London, WC2A 2AE
2. The LSE Library
The LSE Library is the main building for study space and all study resources like books / journals etc. that you would use for studying. It’s open from 8am until midnight for anyone who has an LSE ID Card (if you haven’t got yours, you’ll need to enter during the hours of 9am-5pm).
There are 5 floors of mixed usage. From over 50 kilometres of books on the Lower Ground, 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors. To mixed study spaces on all 5 floors. Ranging from silent, to group study. There are also degree level specific study rooms on the 4th Floor, One for Undergraduates and one for Postgraduates.
Other services in the library include a copy shop for binding and printing, LSE Life and the Women’s Library (an specific collection focusing on women’s rights and for women’s equality).
Address: LSE Library, 10 Portugal Street, London, WC2A 2HD
3. The Students’ Union building (that’s us!)
To be honest, we’re probably the most important one to know – because not only are we the home of all the fun things, but we can also direct you to all of the other places and services on here.
Your Students’ Union is located in the Saw Swee Hock Building (3rd Floor) on Sheffield Street.
If you want to get involved with or find out more about sports clubs, societies or media groups, we are the people to come to. In the building, we have our own gym, two cafes which are great study spaces, a club venue and student bar. You can also find your full time and part time student officers in here, who will be working throughout the year to represent you to LSE’s management.
We host a wide variety of events every term and we have our free and confidential advice service that can support you on any problem, whether it be university-related or personal.
Your SU is based in the Saw Swee Hock Building and is open weekdays 10am-4pm (except for the gym, which has its own opening hours).
Address: The Saw Swee Hock Student Centre, 1 Sheffield St, Holborn, London WC2A 2AP
4. The Shaw Library
We often find that a number of students don’t even know that this little beauty exists, but it’s one of the best spots on campus! The Shaw Library is located in the LSE Old Building on the 6th floor.
It is both a study space and a common room in itself and is popular among students for its more relaxed atmosphere compared to the main LSE library. It has a selection of books that you won’t find in the main library – think fiction classics, poetry, plays, sports and travel guides.
The Shaw Library can also be used as a music practice room, so for any of you musicians out there, you should familiarise yourself with the booking process for this! We often see Classical Concerts being held in there or performances by the LSESU Music Society.
Oh, and we haven’t even got to the best bit…There is a gorgeous little terrace that can be accessed through the Shaw Library, and not many people know about this either! It’s a great spot for kicking back with your friends or for a quick breath of fresh air in the middle of your study session. This really is a hidden gem on campus, so make sure you go and check it out!
5. Study Spaces
The Library can often get crowded at times, especially during exam season. But there are plenty of places on Campus that you can study.
The Centre Building, Old Building, The Peacock Theatre, Saw Swee Hock and the NAB Building all have comfortable seats and spaces that you can study. Most likely, these spaces will have tables, power sources and sometimes even beanbags so that you can get really comfy!
These are just a few of the many places you can study. The bottom line is, there is tons of space on campus, so don’t panic if you can’t see a spare seat in the LSE Library…go and find your own study space that works for you!
Find out more about the different campus study spaces here
6. Chill spaces
It’s important to have your chill spots and places to relax. Lucky for you, there’s plenty of public and hidden gems around campus that you can make your own.
Lincolns Inn Fields is right opposite the NAB building, which is a great place to kick back and spend some time with friends or for a break between lectures. There are also two rooftops on campus that will give you some of the best views of London! Come and check out our 6th Floor terrace and the 12th floor balcony of the Centre Building (opens 12th August 2019).
We mentioned the Shaw Library Terrace earlier; this is definitely a great place to kick back and relax. Oh, and there’s also a beauty salon which is a short walk from Saw Swee Hock!
Everyone de-stresses and relaxes differently, so make sure you take a good old wander through all the campus buildings to find the chill spaces that work for you.
7. Shops
There’s a number of shops on campus. Here in Saw Swee Hock, we have our two cafes (one being vegan!) that sell a range of hot and cold snacks, sweet treats as well as hot drinks. If you are looking for some protein bars and shakes, head on up to the LSESU Gym on the 4th Floor and they will be able to show you the full range!
Opposite the Saw Swee Hock Building, we have two LSE Shops that sell Official LSE Merchandise, stationary and various types of snacks.
If you are a book person, then Alpha Books is definitely a shop that you need to see! Located on the corner of Sheffield and Portsmouth street, they sell a wide range of books throughout the year. Oh, and if you want to get rid of your old textbooks at the end of the year, pop in and talk to them as they buy lots of unwanted books from students every summer!
8. Common Rooms
There are dedicated common rooms on campus for students. There is an Undergraduate Common Room and a Postgraduate Common Room, which both have dedicated opening times. You can access these spaces with your LSE ID Card.
The Common rooms are kitted out with comfy seating, hot water access and microwaves, which makes them great spaces to catch a quick break with your friends between lectures.
And there you have it! Your whistle-stop tour of the key spots on LSE Campus is complete. Definitely pencil in some time to go exploring campus when you get here! You can book yourself a guided campus tour, but we personally think it’s better to go wandering yourself - we guarantee you will find loads more places that are of interest or use to you. See you in September!

Jade’s journey
WITH A CAREER SPANNING TV, THEATRE AND FILM, ACTOR AND POET JADE ANOUKA CAN TURN HER HAND TO ANYTHING.
She talks about filming with Idris Elba, her one-woman show Heart and how she took hundreds of local youngsters for a night out at Peckhamplex
WORDS: EMMA FINAMORE; PHOTO: LIMA CHARLIE
Some people just seem made for storytelling, and the magnetic Jade Anouka – equal parts actor and poet – is most definitely one of them.
Now living in Camberwell – near her favourite brunch spot, Kurdish cafe Nandine on Vestry Road – Jade grew up in Bexley, later moving out to Dartford. She kept up her local connections though, going to secondary school in Lewisham, and it was here in south-east London she had her first proper break in acting.
Inspired by Saturday drama classes, a 17-year-old Jade entered a competition in the local paper and landed a week-long workshop at Greenwich Theatre. It ended with a production of the musical Golden Boy, alongside Olivier-nominated Jason Pennycooke – now in hit West End show Hamilton – and Sally Ann Triplett, whom Jade describes as a “musical theatre legend”.
“I was actually doing a project on her at school when I went to Greenwich Theatre,” she says. “Whenever I was in a play I enjoyed it so much, it would become my world. My parents could see it too, before I even knew I could do it as a job. I just loved it.”
It was a love she grabbed with both hands. Jade headed to the National Youth Theatre on a scholarship and then on to university, to Guildford School of Acting.
“It was a bit of a culture shock,” she remembers. “There were lots of people there who knew the whole ‘acting world’, they knew people’s names, they knew playwrights – and I didn’t know anything. I just liked messing about on stage.
“There were people there whose worlds were so different, who’d had totally different upbringings to me. So that was a bit of a shock. But I made mates for life, friends from different worlds, which is really good but also from the point of view of an actor – to be able to empathise and not be closed into your own world. It was amazing to meet an array of people and make friends.”
Despite once being told by her voice teacher she would “never do Shakespeare – I got completely slated for my voice”, Jade was hired immediately after graduating in 2007 by the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon, where she not only landed a spot in an internationally touring play but earned a postgraduate award in teaching Shakespeare.
She was hired by the RSC for a role in The Penelopiad, Margaret Atwood’s twist on Homer’s epic The Iliad, focusing on a group of women who make just a brief appearance in his original. The all-female cast took the production to Atwood’s home country of Canada, where she came to see it, setting Jade up for a 14-month stint with the company.
Since then, she has taken the worlds of both stage and screen by storm – picking up numerous awards and accolades. In 2011, she received a commendation at the Ian Charleson Awards for her performance as Ophelia in Hamlet at the Globe, and in 2014 she won the Stage Award for Acting Excellence for her one-woman show at the Edinburgh Fringe. She was also named among InStyle’s Bafta breakout stars for 2018.
A woman of many talents, Jade has landed television roles in Doctor Who, Chewing Gum, Stan Lee’s Lucky Man and Trauma. Earlier this year she appeared alongside Sheridan Smith in Cleaning Up, a six-part drama on ITV.
Her most recent adventure in television is alongside megastar Idris Elba in his Netflix comedy series Turn Up Charlie, based in London and Ibiza, in which he plays a down-on-his-luck DJ, while Jade is Tommi – a slick, successful sound engineer.
“That was so much fun, I’ve never worked so long on a comedy before. I’d done a bit on Chewing Gum but nothing like this,” she smiles. “And he [Elba] created such a great vibe on set, because he was producing it too. I loved the cast – Piper Perabo [of Coyote Ugly fame] is great, she’s so cool. We went to Ibiza to film too – I got the jammiest deal.
“Idris is great – he improvises a lot, so we’d finish the scene but then keep rolling. If it feels like something’s fizzing they’ll keep it going.”
She has fond memories of when the cameras switched off too. “Oh my God, I swam in that sea,” she laughs. “Everyone was there, cast, producers, crew... we all had a dip and I remember looking round and thinking, ‘This is mad! Work should not be this fun’. I was proper pinching myself.”
Jade had another pinching-herself moment in March, when her film Fisherman’s Friends hit the cinema screens and made the top four movies in the UK – behind only Dumbo, Captain Marvel and Us. It follows the story of 10 fishermen from Cornwall who get signed by Island Records and achieve a top-10 hit with their debut album of sea shanties.
Jade plays a key role in the story. “It’s a proper feel-good British film,” she explains. “I play the head of Island Records, who signs the fishermen, who is a real person in real life, but is a man.”
Gender-hopping in roles isn’t unusual for Jade, who despite proudly flying the flag for female actors – in Phyllida Lloyd’s all-female Shakespeare trilogy at the Donmar Warehouse in 2016, for example – has played parts such as Henry IV’s Hotspur and Mark Antony in Julius Caesar, and has spoken previously about wanting to tackle James Bond.
“I was thinking about that the other day. And I also play roles on stage that are ‘male’ roles too. I kind of love that,” she smiles.
The idea of playing with identity feeds into her other life as a poet, in which she writes and performs verses, often exploring issues like gender and ‘otherness’.
Poetry has been with her since drama school and it was something she embraced on the road on acting jobs. “It was a way to be creative and be in control,” she explains. “When I couldn’t be in control in the acting world, I could be in control of my poems.”
In 2016 this led to her publishing a volume of verses – called Eggs On Toast – and last summer she gave a TEDx talk at Theatre Peckham on “being black, being a woman, being other”, featuring many of her own poems. Bounty, for example, explores the complexity of race and identity, with powerful, emotive lines.
“It ended up that the talk was going to be about identity,” Jade explains. “I knew I had to use poetry, because that’s how I can communicate with my voice best.”
She closed the talk with I Am A Woman – a powerful homage to Maya Angelou and her seminal poem Phenomenal Woman – peeling away societal expectations of femininity, getting to the root of what being a woman means to Jade.
What it means to be a woman of colour, and an actor, is also important to her, and it inspired a local event she organised last year called Black Panther Peckham.
“I love superhero films,” she explains. “I grew up obsessed with them, but there were so few black women. I was so disappointed with Halle Berry as Catwoman, because I love Halle Berry and thought it would be amazing... and then it was such a bad film. The script was just all wrong.
“So when I heard about [superhero film] Black Panther I thought, ‘Oh my God this would have been my absolute life when I was young’, and I just thought that people like my little cousins needed to watch it.”
Seeing Oscar-winner Viola Davis raising money in the US to send underprivileged young people to see the film, Jade sought to do something similar here in London. “We shouldn’t take it for granted that everyone can just afford to go to the cinema. Peckhamplex is obviously good anyway – £4.99, get in! – but even that for some people is a luxury. So I just started a GoFundMe page, and it went absolutely mental!”
Jade raised thousands of pounds for hundreds of local children to see Black Panther at Peckhamplex, with popcorn, drinks and Disney merchandise donated to the evening, along with a post-show Q&A for the young audience.
“It was so heartwarming,” she smiles. “It was so great that we could do it. I kept popping into the cinema and hearing the crowd’s reactions. There was something about a load of young people being in a room alone with their peers, that kind of shared experience, that was really special. They were having so much fun.”
Jade recently took another 140 young people from Peckham and other parts of south-east London to see the play Emilia in the West End. “I just thought it was so important for young people to see this production,” she says.
“The first of its kind with three women of colour in the lead and on the poster, in a play set in Shakespeare’s time about a forgotten, hidden story of a woman who found her voice. I was able to use some money left over from Black Panther Peckham to help make it happen.”
The second half of this year is set to be as action-packed as the first, with Jade appearing in A Black Actress – a photo exhibition celebrating black actresses that is set to open this summer. She will also appear alongside Blake Lively and Jude Law in The Rhythm Section, a big release hitting cinemas in November.
When we meet, she has just finished a run of her own one-woman show, Heart, at The Vaults under Waterloo Station, and it marks another branching-off in her creative life.
The 50-minute monologue is a journey of the heart, following a woman from her wedding day for the next seven years. “It’s a kind of call-to-arms, a call to look at society,” she explains.
“Really, again, it’s all about identity, and maybe feeling ‘other’. The idea of that and of heartache –where that sits you in society. It’s funny, but most people were crying at the end. They said they could recognise their own stories or moments in it.”
Opening on International Women’s Day with an all-female team made it all the more poignant, along with the fact that Jade was performing her own material in the setting of a play, rather than someone else’s script, or speaking poetry.
“It was different because it was my words,” she says. “There’s nothing to hide behind, but it was amazing. It was the start of a journey – I’m definitely going to do it again [Heart will be coming to a London theatre this autumn] and hopefully publish it. I just want it to live on, I want it to be told and told.”

Musical adventure to London
I’ve always loved London. Since I was younger, until now where that love grows each time I travel down. The first trip down to London was one of the best experiences along with the time I went down for a second time. Thinking back, it hasn’t been that long since I first went down. But then again, it will be 4 times I've been to london by the end of this year.
The first trip was with a friend to go and see Carrie Hope Fletcher’s first solo concert in Cadogan Hall. And the second was a trip to get a visa to work at an American summer camp over the summer. Both memorable trips. But my latest trip down to London has took the ball.
A few weeks ago I traveled down to London with my friend Amy. We planned on going down due to both our loves for musicals and London. We got our trains and hotel booked along with two musicals we were going to see. And the best thing that happened was when we got to London.
When we got into Euston station, we began another mini journey to get to Kingston. This is where our hotel for the few days was. It was beautifully sunny two of the days we were there but It did get cloudy when we went our wonder after dropping our stuff off at the hotel.
Kingston has recently been the go to place for me when I book hotels. And when I say that, it was only my second time staying in the area which both times included a Travelodge. Outside of the hotel there was this massive art piece that I thought was quite cool. A line of red phone boxes were tipped over like domino. And obviously I had to take a picture of it.
From there we travelled back into London waterloo to go be tourists for a little bit. We spent the rest of that evening walking along the river where we seen the London bridge. We were even lucky to catch it opening up to let a boat through (Not exactly sure if that is a rare sight or not but it was still lovely to see it happen). We stayed in that area until it got dark where we seen the bridge open up for the second time letting that exact same boat through again before we started our wonder back to the station to get back to Kingston for the night.
The second day was where the excitement began. Both musicals that we booked were in this one day. Eugenius in the matinee show at the other palace. Then the Heathers evening show in the Haymarket Royal Theatre.
We got to the Other Palace in time to get drinks before the show began. They had... Slushies. Slushies? In a theatre? You can tell this was a new one to me considering I only expected normal drinks like the average soft drink or alcoholic drink. But as I could tell it was going to be an amazing day, I got a slushie and I loved it. Also, can I just mention how beautiful the building is?? Like its such a nice building (I loved the architect of the building. It was just so damn nice).
The show itself was amazing! Our seats were a few rows from the stage, bang centre of the row which let us see the full show with no difficulties at all. As you can probably tell, this was the first time I had been to the other palace. And the theatre was beautiful, there was fairy lights hanging around the theatre and the stage was such a nice size. I hadn’t been to a theatre like this one before to be quite honest. And I’m so glad I got the chance to watch the show there. The cast were amazing! I had never had much expectations since I didn’t want to look into it so I could just be surprised by my own expectations. Which I was. I honestly loved every single moment in that theatre. The set, the music, the cast. So much talent and work went into this show and it’s payed off because at the end of the show everyone joins in with the wonderful fist pumping to Go Eugenius.
Fun fact: I seen a girl stand up to start dancing along at the end of the show and this lead me to standing up too. I looked around to see nobody else standing up so I very awkwardly slid back onto my still folded up seat only for everyone to then start standing up to dance along. This was probably one of the most awkward things in my life ahaha
But at the end of that show I came out so incredibly happy to have went to see it. The cast came out to go for they're lunch and Scott was nice enough to stop and have a chat with people so we went and said hi to him before he headed off.
We stayed in the other palace after the show so we could devour food since we hadn't ate that day. (Bad, yes but at least we managed to get food before show number 2). We got pizza, nachos and best of all... Eugenius themed cocktails! and I need to say thank you to the lovely bar staff for making these wonderful drinks.
From the Other Palace, we went straight to the Royal Haymarket where we were to go see Heathers the musical. I had been waiting months for this day to come and honestly I was so excited for this show. Because I had went to work in America over the summer, I missed the chance to see heathers at the other palace during its run there. Nobody knew my happiness when I had seen heathers was due to come back for another more longer run in London so I said to Amy and we booked the tickets.
Another small thing that needed to be done at the theatre was a mini photoshoot outside before we went in. Yes it was a bit windy and I look a tad of a mess but looking back at this day makes me extremely happy so I'm going to share this picture...
Now, I have been to my fair share of concerts, and musicals ect. But the seats we had for Eugenius and Heathers that day had taken the cake for best seats. We got into the theatre where I collected the tickets, got some merchandise then headed to our seats. We must have been about 4-5 rows from the stage and it was one of the best views in a theatre like that in London I have ever had. The lights all went down and the show began and it was Beautiful! Pun intended. The set was amazing, I never thought it would be as good a set as it was. The band were amazing, the cast were incredible! Ive seen quite a few shows carrie has been in and oh my god, her voice. The whole cast is so talented I was blown away with how good the show was.
After the show we stood outside the front of the theatre as there was a line waiting for the cast to come out. I do enjoy stage door but at the same time I don't expect to meet any certain member of the cast as it is after all, they're decision if they want to come out and spend time with a lot of the audience that came to see the show. If they want to go home and not meet anyone then I totally get that. They've done they're job and to be quite honest I would rather go home after work too (Even though my job at the moment is totally not relatable to theatre) Ive seen how other people can get quite annoyed but it is literally you're own fault for deciding to stand and waiting. But anyway, a few of the ensemble cast members came out which was amazing. They were so genuinely lovely and it was nice to have a little chat with them.
After we met the cast members that came out, we ended up wondering along to a bridge that gave us a really nice view of the London wheel. We had spent a few hours wondering around, grabbing some food before realising the underground did not intact run 24/7 which lead to us walking to waterloo station from Piccadilly. The time we got to the station we had indeed missed the last train... By half an hour, which left us stranded for just a little bit as we managed to get an uber back to the hotel. Thank the lord for uber, otherwise we would have been stuck in central London the whole night. We got back to the hotel room and basically crashed after such an amazing musical filled day.
The next day was when we decided to go back to see Heathers for a second time. We booked tickets and went into Piccadilly for a bit. We went to the Theatre Cafe, Such a wonderful musical filled place that I do recommend. The hot chocolate is a personal favourite there due to my love for hot chocolate. I also enjoyed my trip to the bathroom there- If you like selfies and theatre then please do go into the bathroom.
Afterwards, we decided to go a stop to Leicester Square for a little bit. We must have sat there for a good hour or so just watching the world pass by. Plus it was a nice way to just chill before round 2 of heathers! After almost getting hit by a ton of low flying birds, we left our view infront of the fountain and went back towards the Royal Haymarket theatre.
When we got to the theatre, the oddest thing happened that was no expected... Carrie Hope Fletcher... walked past us. She walked past with Becky and I stood like a starstruck idiot. I think I was just a bit shocked at first to be honest since I did not expect that to happen. They walked past and I didn't want to interrupt them since they looked like they were in a big conversation so I never said anything. We ended up walking back towards a burger place we had passed earlier and went in for some pre theatre food but when we sat down Carrie, Becky and the Heathers director was there too and I must say, we freaked out slightly again but no worries, we stayed somewhat chill. They got takeaway so left but I need to say my food was good! Even though I only got sweet potato fries. I was deeply craving them after seeing them on the menu earlier that day.
After some food, we headed back to the theatre but we still had some time to kill so we went next door and I got a Heathers themed cocktail. It was honestly one of the best cocktails I have ever had.
Afterwards it was time to then head to the theatre for our seats. We got the tickets and went up a floor to see the show and we had an amazing view. We could see everything from our seats which was nice especially how we had booked tickets extremely last minute. Once again, the cast had outdone themselves. The show was brilliant! Only one thing went slightly wrong during the show but the cast made it work anyway like pro’s! Both trips to heathers, we made a few friends which was quite nice. I always enjoy talking to others at shows as everyones always so nice. After the show, we waited at the front of the theatre where some of the cast came out again then we decided to go back to the hotel to make sure a repeat of the previous night didn't happen again. Didn't really fancy getting stuck in central London for the night. But anyway we made it back and went for a lovely sleep.
The last and final day. The only part of this day I didn’t like was that it meant I had to go back home.
I got up and packed then went into Piccadilly again to get some Polaroid’s of the theatre. I really love Polaroid’s as you can probably tell. They just look so nice plus I love how it just instantly prints your picture (Whole point of the polaroid yes, but still!). Heres a little picture of a few of them. I will soon be creating a polaroid wall in my room so these will make a nice addition since I love things that just take me back to a memory. Especially happy places and days.
I took polaroids of the front of the theatre before I ended up talking to two girls who I joined in walking round to stage door. I just wanted to see what stage door was like at the theatre considering I hadn't been to the one at this theatre before I headed back to the hotel to collect my stuff for check out. But just before I left, Carrie turned up which completely made my day. I got to say hi and how I loved watching the shows the last two nights I had seen then she signed my ticket that I kept from the first night. I always get nervous or “starstruck” a bit when it comes to actors, musicians and youtubers ect, then again I am an awkward person. An introvert is probably along the right words. But anyway I asked If i could get a hug because she has genuinely inspired me for years.
So yeah, that kind of made my day. And to top it off, It made this whole trip one of the best memories. After we met her, we went back to the hotel and got our stuff then back into piccadilly to have one last sit down in the Theatre Cafe. I must say, I don't think ill ever not enjoy the theatre cafe. Its just such a lovely musical place to go. The staff are really nice, the cafe itself is insanely cool- including the bathroom mirror they have- and its just a great environment to be in.
Last of all we travelled to Euston for our train back. Was quite a sad thing to be leaving but I know I will defiantly be coming back down soon enough.
And there you go. That was probably an extremely long first blog post of my trip to London. I really hope you enjoyed it and if you did please press that follow button to keep updated. If you like blog posts, musicals ect then please give this post a like so I can see who liked it!
Anyway, Thanks for reading!

Hub City
Affinity merchandising is big businesses. It’s all part of what academics call fandom, and includes everything from sports team jerseys and caps to action figures, bobbleheads, games, and more from television shows, artists, and anything else the collective hive deems cool.
That’s pop culture for you. It’s hard to put a finger on that pulse and extract a dollar value, though, because it’s typically all lumped together with other merchandise. But you know it’s popular because you see it all the time.
Which explains why Walmart has decided to expand its test market for the Netflix Hub it launched a year ago to include 2400 stores. That’s a little bit more than half of all Walmarts in the States, and shoppers will now be able to purchase wearables, collectibles, and otherwise useables based on their fave Netflix shows, like Stranger Things, Squid Game, and others. Previously these products were hard to find, sometimes found in places like Spencer’s, Hot Topic, and online.
It makes sense, because there is a degree of exclusivity about shows you find on Netflix and other streaming services. You have to subscribe, which automatically eliminates some people. If you subscribe and if you watch, you are now in the cool group. Well, as long as the zeitgeist declares the show to be cool.
And as we all know, there are some shows on streaming services that resonate far beyond anything the old-school network stations, and even cable networks, can ever hope to score. They spread virally, and as it does, Netflix, for example, greets us upon login with what is trending. It’s fuel on a fire.
In a rare example of available data, 40% of Hard Rock Cafe’s revenues come from sales of affinity merchandise. That’s pretty solid, meaning that for nearly every buck you spend on food and drinks, you spend the same on stuff. And this is the stuff that has badge value, because it means you more than likely picked it up while on travel, and have equally good taste in popular eating establishments.
Other streamers are getting in the game, but online. The Hulu Store has tons of cool merch, especially from shows I watch, like Only Murders In The Building and What We Do In The Shadows. HBO Max also has a lot of cool items from its shows, including The Righteous Gemstones. I am sure there are others.
You know what’s going to be on my Christmas Wish List, so feel free to go ahead and start your holiday shopping.
Any time a collaborative project pops up, it means that somebody has to do a little giving. In this case, it is Walmart, who has to trade out some otherwise utilized retail floor space in exchange for Netflix’ merch. It’s not like Walmart has 50 or 100 square feet of space sitting idly by, so there is naturally an opportunity cost associated with this move.
It is relinquishing whatever sales and profits were generated from this space before Netflix shows up. But Walmart must think this is a good move, one that will yield a net positive. That’s how retail works, because you have to try to maximize sales per square foot across every square foot.
As for Netflix, it signals their commitment to diversifying its revenue stream, which now includes advertising as well as busting up little password-sharing viewing cartels. Stir in a bunch of Funko Pop figures from Squid Game and Stranger Things, and this could be golden.
At the end of the day, we really do not need any of these things. We just want them. Sure, we could argue that an affinity hoodie meets part of our clothing and staying warm needs, but I am speculating the odds are good that the people who buy these, as well as all the team jerseys they wear to games, already have closets full of regular clothes.
As further sweetener on the Walmart-Netflix partnership, snack foods will be available at the hubs, as well as Netflix gift cards. This reminds me of the video rental stores of the past that also sold theatre-sized boxes of Goobers and Raisinets so you could replicate the viewing experience at home. Think of the gift card as a starter pack to get new subscribers sucked in.
This is sheer genius, and both companies are wise to move ahead with this one. I’ll be looking for it and ways to spend my money on things I don’t need. But man, they’re cool. And I will be too.

Why does space branding matter in a business?
Space branding is a tool that helps communicate your company’s brand essence and identity, through the way of designing a physical location. One of the important ways of building a strong brand is to make sure that brand awareness happens uniformly with the client and the employees.
Why is space branding important?
Businesses at any stage must understand that a well-designed logo and a website are just one aspect of branding. However, the way the office is designed conveys the story of ambition, passion, motivation and a sense of achievement for the company.
Office branding should be done in such a way that as soon as the visitors step in, they would know what the company is all about. For example, if you visit a social media agency, you will see the walls are coloured bright, the artwork talks about or shows famous influencers or personalities, the quotes hung on the wall are quirky, most of the offices have one long table where all the employees irrespective of the department and hierarchy sit together and work.
If one had to look at it generally, office branding gives its employees a sense of understanding, importance and their role in the workplace. It creates a sense of belongingness, leading to the feeling of loyalty. A satisfied workforce leads to higher staff retention and an increase in productivity. Businesses should understand that their employees represent the company’s mission and vision leading the company to achieve its goal.
Let us look into two main aspects of branding- indoor and outdoor. What is creativity in business?
Indoor branding
What is indoor branding?
Indoor branding represents the services provided by your company. To put it simply, indoor branding simply means the interior of your company. For example, schools, colleges, cafes, supermarkets, shopping malls and many others. The atmosphere created by indoor branding helps visitors identify the brand and its products or services.
Why should you do indoor branding?Let’s break this into points for our better understanding.
Visitors irrespective of gender, while using the washroom spend at least 2 or 3 minutes. Branding done in the washroom has a more engaged audience than anywhere else in the workplace. You could show off your best calligraphies here.
Since it is your company, you don’t require permission or need to pay a huge sum for the space to rent.
Indoor branding has a stronger impact on its users. Take cafes like CCD or Starbucks as an example. Their walls and their ambience scream of having a good time, of coffee, of conversations and their merchandise, are available only in their outlets. Nor CCD not Starbucks spend a single dime on marketing, even on their bad days.
Outdoor Branding
What is outdoor branding?
Outdoor branding is used to advertise your product or service outside of your company or home. Also known as OOH, basically, it grabs the audience’s attention when he is outside. Outdoor branding comes in various forms like billboards, posters wall murals. OOH is also done at bus and train stations, kiosks, taxis, public transportations, public benches, stadiums, movie theatres, outside of shopping malls and much more.
Why is outdoor branding important?
Outdoor branding reaches its consumers at a vast pace. In a short amount of time and small spending, the brand generates a higher consumer response. Let’s understand it better:
One of the biggest advantages is the visibility of the brands. A billboard is visible from afar. Take the real estate industry as an example, they get huge billboards made and set up for the promotion of their properties. Unlike social media ads, OOH cannot be “blocked”.
Outdoor brand building has time and again proven to be more effective in creating brand awareness. Since consumers cannot ignore OOH brands the way they can to online ads, it leaves very little to no control over the user.
OOH is one of the cheapest ways to promote your business for the long term.
Bright pixel understands and adapts to the evolution in branding, indoor or outdoor. Taking into consideration all aspects, we strategize the location and the brand, that help our customers achieve great sales and marketing performance. We constantly evolve in terms of method and technology to stay relevant and stay up to mark with current trends to fetch the best possible results for brands associated with us.

[SUMABO NEW YEAR SPECIAL REPORT] Yoshimoto Kouki's First Fan Event 'Yoshimoto no Moto' Part 1
05.01.2018
Yoshimoto Kouki who appeared in “Hyper Projection Engeki - Haikyuu!! Summer of Evolution” and is also an active reporter for NTV’s ZIP! held his first ever fan event in Space SF Shiodome, Tokyo on 16 December 2017. We will report on the first half of the event and include photos.
(Yoshimoto Kouki-san holding his first ever fan event ‘Yoshimoto no Moto’)
From his debut stage in 'Patalliro!’ in 2016 as a part of the Tamanegi Troop to the 'Hyper Projection Engeki - Haikyuu!! Summer of Evolution’ (as Bokuto Koutaro of Fukurodani Academy) that was in theatres last summer, Yoshimoto Kouki gave a lot of energy to his acting. He appears as a regular model in the men’s magazine 'FINEBOYS’ to showcase his style and is also a reporter in NTV’s ‘ZIP!’
In the opening movie before Yoshimoto-san appeared, he narrated a video showing on the screen precious photos from his baby pictures to his school days as a baseball player with a buzz cut! There were also photos of Yoshimoto-san cooking, modelling activities and older private photos that made all his fans cheer out of joy. It was when all his fans’ applaud reached climax that Yoshimoto-san appeared from behind his audience! After looking at them, with a smile, he greeted everyone: “The day has finally come! I hope I could have the most wonderful time with you all today!”
From there on, a fun talk segment started with Terasako Mori-san as the MC. Regarding 'Yoshimoto no Moto’, Yoshimoto-san said “I want to make this a place (event) where I can feel as if I came back to my parents’ house as a 'source of energy’ in my actor life. I want to let everyone know a lot about me, and to make this meeting an enjoyable time for everyone.” And with that, the fan event continued.
Going back to the opening movie when it showed Yoshimoto-san cooking, he said “When I first came to Tokyo and started living on my own, I was so clueless and I couldn’t even do the laundry or cook by myself.” When I thought “wow, mum is awesome!”, I wanted to be able to do housework by myself and I worked as a part-timer in a cafe and learned cooking. Yoshimoto-san who is good at fancy cafe-meshi (light meals served at cafe) asked his fans “What do you think about men who cook?”, his audience responded with a big applaud to which he said “I’m glad to hear that, I wish I could serve my cooking to you all.” He made such a remark that boosted his fans’ expectations for his future events.
For the first time in his actor career, Yoshimoto-san played the role of Bokuto Koutaro from Fukurodani Gakuen in 'Engeki Haikyuu!!’ “Actually, at the beginning, I didn’t know the story of 'Haikyuu!!’ as I’ve never read it before. But when I got the chance to audition, I read all the manga chapters and watched the anime episodes and got hooked! I felt a connection with Bokuto and when I went to audition for his part, I was confident that I could play his character well. I was totally charmed by 'Haikyuu!!’ and with each passing performance, I was told that I became more and more like Bokuto even in real life. I began to understand that this is what it means to become an actor, and it became an important thing for me.” Yoshimoto-san stated.
Following the talk segment, Yoshimoto-san was challenged to demonstrate the acting skills of an aspiring actor! As chosen by fans in the audience, Yoshimoto-san showed improvised love confessions in the segment titled 'Ba-dump Theatre’ and acted out on different situations depending on the theme. That was the start of a fun segment where the fans would either accept or reject his love confession, depending on whether his fans’ heart went 'ba-dump!’
The first theme was 'the volleyball captain and the female manager.’ When there were only the two of them left behind the gymnasium, the volleyball captain played by Yoshimoto-san said “I’ve been able to give my best everyday thanks to you.. and before I noticed it, I’ve been looking at 〇〇-chan more. I like you. Please go out with me if we win the next match. I will do my best until 〇〇-chan falls for me” - what a manly confession! This confession got a unanimous 'accept’ from the audience.
The next theme was 'the teacher and the student.’ Yoshimoto-san played the teacher and the fans were the students who had to stay behind after class because of failing grades. As the situation continues, Yoshimoto-san started asking silly questions after questions. At the end, he asked “Who are the students who kept failing and giving me a hard time?” To which they said “It’s me.” Yoshimoto-san then said “That’s right, it’s you. But I can’t just leave you alone, so you better stick with me.” And with that he patted their head! It received cheers from everyone while Yoshimoto-san was feeling shy, and of course, the confession got an 'accept’ from everyone.
(At the 'Ba-dump Theatre’ where everyone’s heart was pounding)
Moving on after the 'Ba-dump Theatre’, a new corner called 'Yoshimoto Challenge’ began. 'In order to become a star, one must clear any challenge in one go’ - so a penalty game started where Yoshimoto-san must answer the questions correctly. To start off, a timer was set to ten seconds in which he must answer the question. If he gets the answer wrong, the punishment is 'Sunshine Ikezaki-san’s full power impersonation’ where he will laugh and shout “A man who loves Kansai and is loved by all of Kansai! Sunshine Yoshimoto!” with full power at the venue.
(Showing off 'Sunshine Yoshimoto’ at full power)
The next game was 'Kendama one-shot game’ in which he had to shoot the ball into one of the kendama cups in one go. Yoshimoto-san who failed this game had to do the penalty game 'Face rubber stretching game.’ He had to bite a large rubber band at one end, and his fan had to hold the other end. When the fan let go, the rubber hits Yoshimoto-san’s face vigorously! “It’s really scary! (lol) Everyone in the entertainment industry is awesome” said Yoshimoto-san who had to experience the rubber stretching game. It was a game that brought laughter to the audience by sacrificing Yoshimoto-san’s body.
At the end of the event, as a present to the fans, a 'Yoshimoto-san photoshoot with the audience’ corner also took place. Yoshimoto-san made a lot of various poses as a response to the requests of his fans. He also drew a lot of illustrations on the merchandises available for purchase in the goods section. The handmade parts of the merchandise were prepared by Yoshimoto-san for all his fans to enjoy.
In addition to the fan event, Yoshimoto-san’s 2018 calendar was also released. “I had photoshoots with various themes so I would be glad if everyone could place my calendar in an area where they could always see it next year” Yoshimoto-san commented. Talking about his 2018 stage projects where he is appearing again for 'Patalliro! ★ Stardust Project ★’ and 'Hyper Projection Engeki - Haikyuu!! Hajimari no Kyojin’, Yoshimoto-san enthusiastically said “I will be playing the same role as I previously did for the both of them, but I would try to bring more power into my stage acting.”
“The event was so much fun. Knowing that my fans came from different places just to come see me will be a source of energy for me from now on. I am going to work hard to give back to everyone. This is the kind of day today has become for me!” Yoshimoto-san stated. “I would also like to extend my gratitude to the event staffs who all worked together to make this event possible.” He added. And as his final remark to end the first part of Yoshimoto no Moto, he exclamed “Hey, hey, hey!”
(Hey, hey, hey!)
After the first part of the event has ended, Sumabo went straight to Yoshimoto-san for an interview! The interview and comments video(?) will be uploaded in the coming days.
Yoshimoto Kouki’s 2018 Calendar and his bromides that were on sale on the venue will also be available to be purchased online around mid-January. The details will be announced by Yoshimoto Kouki when they have been decided so please expect it soon.
