i know a lot of people tend to define dani/ellie's "obsession" as the ocean to go with danny's space obsession but tbh i feel like as dani gets older she's going to do a lot to separate herself from her identity as danny's "clone" and become her own person

like, that's why i love that the fandom has adopted the "ellie" nickname so much for her. i so wish the show went on for longer with more competent writers or the comic could expand on this maybe but i think finding her own identity and voice would be such a powerful narrative. you're made for one thing but you don't wanna do that, so now what do you do?

(tbh that kind of identity exploration is probably too anit-christian for b*tch h*rtman so i'm glad he didn't get to touch it)

it's canon that dani goes off and travels the world, so why not have her obsession be traveling? she's got a huge case of wanderlust. she likes the outdoors, she likes hiking and camping and is a huge granola girl. like, i think that kinda just fits her a bit more, in my opinion. traveling/exploration.

it is highly important for everyone who knows me on this godforsaken webbed site to understand: i am monolingual i go to a linguistics-focused school by that i mean theres an insane amount of languages avalible to take and almost everyone speaks at least three outside of that

like yeah i live in the uk but irl 1: speaks mandarin chinese, cantonese chinese, english irl 2: speaks mandarin chinese, japanese, english, italian irl 3: speaks mainland spanish, mainland portugese, brazilian portugese, english and greek irl 4: speaks italian, german, english, and ancient greek irl 5: if it existed in europe before 1200 she speaks it. why? idfk. irl 6: a variety of slavic languages and also french irl 7: speaks tamil, french, ancient greek and spanish

and thats off the top of my head

ive also heard at least three rants about esperanto after my school introduced it as an extracurricular language

Rewatching episode six and Lin really does such a good job with Hermes

When he first greets them he’s all happy go lucky still having fun gambling and entertaining himself but as soon as annabeth says Luke’s name his face drops. He gets a look of guilt that only a parent can have.

Talking to annabeth and Percy, especially when annabeth says like hates Hermes you can see the pain in his face and how he’s trying to conceal it. The changes in his voice when he’s talking to them and his facial expressions so clearly express what he’s feeling and Lin does such a good job at conveying the guilt of an absent father who wishes he could have been there.

“Do you know what that feels like? To be so close to someone you love, knowing neither of you has a choice but to keep hurting each other?”

He knows that they both know. He reminds Percy of his moment, and annabeth physically recoils when he tries to do the same to her. The intensity in his face as he asks the question shares how much he knows he hurt Luke and how awful he feels about it.

“It is very hard for a god to feel powerless.”

LMM was a perfect choice for Hermes and how serious the show is compared to the books.

the problem is that I had beef with Timmy Cabernet for like two years because he got cast as Laurie and just did not match my idea of what Laurie Lawrence should look like but the truth is that the guy is actually a very good actor and despite the many issues with Little Women 2019 (which, for the record, I did enjoy. sorry mutuals) he was a surprisingly decent Laurie, so I can't stay annoyed by him very well, can I?
