I want the entire piece to look like it was cut out of stone. This is my process for a solid texture backdrop by building up layers of paint from black to gray, then to white and then back to black. Repeating the process several times. I do this to help give the background depth. That white object I am painting with is Styrofoam from my package from Amazon. Hahahah.....isnt art beautiful. It prevents me from taking control. Moving in a diagonal direction will create a movement thoughout the overall piece. If I had used a brush, I would have demanded that every line be in its place. Hahaha....living and learning. I want my realtionship with my art to be my lover, and not my slave.
