RomaJuliette plot that gets increasingly darker? How? 👀

It was going to be your typical old HS AU but, in my effort to stay true to canon, I thought, "Huh. What could be a proxy for the insect madness that occurred during TVD and OVE?"

My first thought was recreational drugs. A dangerous drug sweeping throughout the market, mostly popular with high school students as it calms people's nerves, numbs their pain, etc.

But the drugs are extremely dangerous— leading to several deaths within the student body.

Lord Cai and Lord Montagov are the heads of separate political parties, and are constantly butting heads. Since the school is filled with the kids of powerful people— who are dropping like flies, they are incentivized to catch the supplier and dealer of this drug.

That's most of what I have till now— certain things are prolly gonna change when I do more research into drugs and how political parties gain power— like, the two main themes in the story.

Anyway, this train of thought came disturbingly soon after I thought "hehe if RomaJuliette were in a HS AU they would be like rivals to lovers"
