Open Starter -- Woops.
Tumblr media
Eurydice didn't usually mind nymphs, she got along with them most of the time, but when this certain group of nymphs that were usually with a woman named 'Circe' came around, a lot happened.
They'd offered her a makeover, as much as she wasn't a fan of it. She couldn't say no-
She kinda regretted it.
After 15 minutes, she came out in a blue and black dress. With many accessories on it, she had two small braids on the sides of her face. And she had some flowers in her hair.
"I look like a clockmakers daughter." She whispered.

I just listened to the Peach Pit for Episode 4, and when Matt first started about how He personally felt towards Trudy and subsequently other Robot/AI/Manufactured characters I was a bit surprised and also slightly irritated by how strong his stance was on it, but that's a me thing.
And then he brought up that Black Mirror episode, and he makes a fair point (As far as I'm aware, as I've never watched it.)
It reminded of the Clockmaker's Daughter Musical (Spoilers ahead, PLEASE LISTEN TO THE SOUNDTRACK), Where a Clockmaker who loses his Wife and Child build himself a new daughter, and to keep her safe from the outside world, he does his best to make sure she's always hidden.
When he does this it's bad, it's mean - She's unhappy being locked away, she's curious, she wants more than the view outside a window.
The Clockmaker Loves her, truly loves her, wants her safe, but in that way, his love is abusive, the Daughter literally asking "How can a man with such Passion Kill his Compassion?" at some point.
Who can blame the man for wanting his daughter back? Who can blame him for wanting to keep her safe?
Who can blame the Daughter for leaving her prison? Who can blame her for her curiosity and defiance?
I think that's Trudy's deal - Tucker wants his Trudy, likely one that passed away years ago - He sounds truly hurt and somewhat heartbroken at lying and "killing" our Trudy, I do think there is love on some level at some amount, despite his neglect - but He can never get it just right (Or perhaps he's simply wrong about the OG Trudy) and so he makes another, and another, always Vying for something he lost and can never truly replace (And doesn't want trudy spending time with people that may get her hurt - they'll see her true self and get rid of her.)
and Trudy Alpha, broken and discarded, wants to look and act like "Her" they'll all be perfect, they'll be "Her" the 'real' Trudy, one the Tucker is so desperate for.
Tucker is Desperate for his love back, and wants her to be somewhat safe - after all, Why would there be so many Trudy's if NOT trial-and-error to get the "Right" one? And if he just needs someone to do the housework - Why bother making them "Live?" Why not make just a robot to do the chores?
while Trudy, meant to act like a person, WANTS something outside of her Family unit, she WANTS to spend time with Gutteral Scream, She's not fulfilled by raising the children and doing the housework - which is something that most woman have seemingly have felt, especially in a time like the 50's, with Beth mentioning the regression of the view of woman in the time period.
Which brings me back to my original point.
Can you blame someone for wanting companionship so bad they make it, and can anyone blame those companions for wanting more than their relationship with their creators?
and also Matt Arnold losing sympathy for machines is something I personally cannot understand even if it makes logical sense.
Is that like a Neurodivergence thing? Caring about Manufactured characters that because they don't quite understand what it means to be Human (Normal) and are often earnest and somewhat naive, and usually learn to fear showing their true selves (When they stop Masking) because if they don't pretend to be Human they get ostracized?
Or is it because I grew up with the like of The Brave Little Toaster, and Toy Story, and Wall-E?
Is it both?
It's Probably both.
Mr. Arnold, I can't say I understand, but I will try not to judge you for it.

Recently did some original character intros starting with the main character of my book, Dr. Kala.
A kindhearted brainiac living in a steampunk-like flooded world, humble and selfless to a fault. Kala's also a very tired dad raising a rambunctious girl with too much energy... I'll show her intro soon lol
Kala has definitely been through a lot.......... more on this later

A handful of random obscure musicals that no one talks about but they're some of my favorites ever:
Frankenstein
Based on Mary Shelley's book of course. It changes some stuff but is generally very faithful to the book and the music is excellent. I just really like it. (Best songs: Modern Prometheus, Coming of the Dawn)
Treason
Based on the gunpowder plot. To my understanding (I'm American and hadn't heard about this until I started listening to the musical), it's pretty accurate to the general history, but fills in a few gaps if you will to make it work better as a story. In the musical, the wives of the plotters are the ones who tipped people off about the whole thing, while I believe that we didn't actually know who wrote the letter. (Best Songs: The Day Elizabeth Died, Burn, Digging Down Deeper, Caught in the Crossfire)
The Clockmaker's Daughter
Not based on the book. I have no idea what the book is about. There is no relation. But it's set in this little town in Ireland. There's this clockmaker whose wife and daughter recently passed away (he's played by the wonder and amazing Ramin Karimloo), and he tries to recreate his daughter out of clockwork. And he ends up creating a sentient clockwork girl whom he names Constance. It's genuinely one of my favorite musicals ever but NO ONE knows about it which is so sad. The music has a ton of piano and strings and it's incredibly rhythmic and I love it so much. (Best songs: You're Still Here, Impossible, Fear and Whispers, Clockwork, also all of them they're just so good)
I also thoroughly enjoy The Count of Monte Cristo musical and The Scarlet Pimpernel (haven't read this book so I dunno how accurate it is), but not enough for them to get their own spots. :p

Clockmaker’s Daughter content??!!!!

Fun fact: my clock Constance is a random character I sketched out when I’m learning “A Story of my Own”. My teacher mentioned how I’m the only student who doesn’t take notes so I drew a silly clock girl to satisfy her

Thinking about that time I went to see hadestown and the person I went with afterwards said "wow I didn't think they would go the let her die and he has to live on route since it's a musical" and I just stared at her and said "have you ever seen a musical?"

Just listened through a musical called “The Clockmaker’s Daughter” and it’s just. So good. I’m such a sucker for bittersweet endings and musicals that pull from literature. Like there’s something so timeless about it. 10/10 would recommend.

5. On a scale of 1-10, how intense do you like to tickle or be tickled?
6. If you had to listen to three pieces of music for the rest of your life, which three works would you choose?
5. as a lee I’d say I often want as high a level as I can get, but I’m only like,, moderately ticklish and have to be in the right headspace for it, so depends if the scale is up to my personal 10 or what. definitely up there. but I also looove a good 3-5 shivery sparkly kind too, especially when cuddling. On the flip side, I’m very much a service ler, so whatever the lee is feeling. but left to my own devices I also aim high, I want to elicit as much laughter n big reactions as I can 🥰
6. I Feel Good About This by The Mowglis
the Tuck Everlasting musical (perhaps cheating cuz it’s a soundtrack, not a single song, but idc)
Back To You by Twin Forks
