This blurb was written as a part of the "Zara's Birthday Bash and Road to 1K" celebration.
Zara's Birthday Bash and Road to 1K Masterlist / Criminal Minds Masterlist
"Hey, what are you doing here?"
You turned around at the familiar voice. "Spencer? What are you doing here?"
"I'm on the job. Were you inside the club?"
You glanced at the entrance of the establishment behind you. "Yeah, I was. Can you tell me what's going on? Why was everyone evacuated? Is everything alright?"
"Everything's fine, angel. Don't worry. We've got things under control." Spencer looked around at the mass of people in your immediate surroundings. "I thought you said you had a date today?"
You shuffled your weight from foot to foot, ducking your head so Spencer couldn't read the embarrassment on your face. "I do. My date, he's—well, he said he saw some of his friends earlier and went to say hi, but then we got evacuated, so..."
Spencer frowned. "He hasn't contacted you yet?"
"No." You looked at your phone again for good measure, hoping that somehow your date had dropped in a text or a missed call in the two minutes since the last time you checked the device, but alas. "Maybe he doesn't have service? The signal on my phone has been terrible as well."
You and Spencer both knew that it was a pathetic excuse, but you were thankful that he chose to brush past it completely.
"Are you cold?" Spencer asked when he saw you shudder. He instantly took off the FBI bomber he was wearing and draped it on your shoulders. "Here. You know you get cold easily. Why didn't you bring a coat?"
Truthfully speaking, you didn't think you would need a coat when you left your place earlier that night. After all, your date was going to drive you from your apartment to the club and back. How were you supposed to know that he was going to stand you up halfway through your date, leaving you alone and freezing in the middle of a sidewalk?
Perhaps the fact that he decided to bring you to a club out of all places for a first date should have been your first red flag all along.
"Better now?" Spencer asked.
"Yes. Thank you, Spencer."
Someone bumped against you from behind, and before you could dive head first onto the curb, Spencer caught your fall mid-air. He led you away from the mob of people littering the club entrance with protective arms enveloping your shoulders.
"What happened to your leg?" Spencer asked when he saw the slight limp in your walk.
"Oh, that? I, um, kinda grazed it against the pavement when I fell."
"You fell?!"
"Well—" you winced when a particular step sent a jolt to your limb, "—believe it or not, people can get real physical when they panic, and a sudden PSA to evacuate the premises is apparently the surest way to do it."
"Let me see." Before you could stop him, Spencer was already kneeling in front of you in the middle of the road. He flipped the sheer material of your skirt so he could inspect the damage. "Shit, angel. You're bleeding. Why didn't you say anything?"
Carefully, Spencer ushered you towards the nearest ambulance, sitting you down at the back before requesting a first aid kit from the paramedic.
"Need help with that?" the paramedic asked.
"No, thank you. I've got her."
The way Spencer said the phrase made your entire insides heat up all at once. It didn't help that for the following minutes, you had to endure all the gentle ministrations Spencer was doing to treat your scraped knee. You were both glad and mournful when Spencer finished dressing the wound, your skin tingling with the aftermath of his delicate touches.
Spencer took a seat right next to you. "Still no word from your date?"
"No." You sighed. "I don't even wanna think about him right now. Should've trusted my instinct and not go on this stupid date in the first place."
"Why did you go anyway?"
"I didn't feel right canceling just like that. Deirdre went through great trouble setting it up for me."
Deirdre, bless her heart, was your best friend and closest confidant. She was also the person who arranged this blind date for you because she was, quote-unquote, tired of seeing you pining over a certain FBI agent with an IQ of 187.
"For a certified genius, he's sure as hell real dumb if he hasn't figured out how you feel about him by now," Deirdre had said once upon a time.
So, like the good friend that she was, Deirdre set this blind date in hopes that you would finally stop moping around and start moving on instead.
"Your date is a friend of Deirdre's?" Spencer questioned.
"No, no, no. I think he's a coworker of her sister's husband or something? Anyway, thought I'd at least show up and have fun, y'know? I didn't expect that I would be the one getting stood up."
Spencer clenched his jaw. "Well, you can tell Deirdre that her sister's husband's coworker is a brainless dickhead."
"Spencer!" You wanted to reprimand him, but the giggles that broke through betrayed your intention completely. "You don't know that. You've never even met the guy."
"Don't need to. He's got to be the biggest idiot in the world to have the audacity to stand you up when he should be thanking you for even giving him the time of day in the first place."
Your stomach churned into knots. "You appraise me way too highly, Spencer."
"I appraise you exactly as you deserve." Spencer's shoulder bumped against yours. Even under the layers of clothes you were wearing, your skin still managed to burn. "I wish you could see that."
His words washed over you like a high tide. Spencer was the only one who held such power in the world; the power to render you compliant just by the utterance of several words.
It should have been terrifying.
"Do you want to go home?" Spencer offered as he rose to his feet. "C'mon. I'll drive you."
"What? But your case—"
"They'll be fine without me."
You followed him to one of the parked SUVs several paces ahead. Spencer meandered for a minute towards a group of people whom you could only assume was his team. You offered a small wave and an awkward smile when their gazes slithered your way.
"I feel bad for taking you away like this," you admitted once Spencer returned. He had tendrils of curly hair falling down his forehead, and it took every willpower you had not to reach out and stroke them away.
"It's fine. They understand. We all cover each other all the time when one of us has more urgent things to do."
You were 100% certain that taking you home should not have been categorized as "more urgent things to do". After all, Spencer was a federal agent working a federal case, and you could've easily taken the metro or a taxi back to your place. If it had been any other person with you at that moment—if it had been any other guy—you doubted they would have gone through all those troubles for you.
But Spencer was different.
In a world of boys, Spencer Reid was a gentleman.
He opened the car door for you before getting himself into the driver's seat. The drive back to your apartment lasted a little over twenty minutes. You stared at the building outside your window before turning to face Spencer.
"I'm sorry again for hindering you from your job."
"Are you seriously just gonna keep apologizing to me?"
You grinned. "Maybe. Unless, well, you'd let me treat you to lunch sometimes. Or dinner. Whatever works for you."
Spencer chuckled. "Deal. Just text me when and where, okay?"
You bid your goodbye and exited the SUV. Just before you could close the door, though, Spencer suddenly called out your name.
You bent down and peered inside the car. "Yes?"
Spencer assessed you in silence before looking away. "Nothing. Just... don't forget to brush your teeth."
"Brush my teeth? Who are you? My mom?"
Spencer waved you off when you started to laugh.
"Goodnight, Spencer," you said one last time, slamming the car door and heading towards the entrance of your building.
Spencer's heart stirred as he watched you walk away. "Goodnight, angel."

“Are you sure you don't want to come with us, Sam?” I said as I pressed the buy tickets button. The website loaded for a couple of seconds before my phone went off.
“Yeah, I'm sure. I don't listen to Metallica,” Sam told me as I checked my email to see two tickets for Metallica in Inglewood, California in six months.
“How can you NOT listen to Metallica?”
“Not my cup of tea, I guess.”
“You, Charlie?”
“I don’t like old men in leather,” she simply said, making me chuckle.
To say that I was excited would be an understatement. I was overjoyed, ecstatic, and adrenaline-filled, already mentally preparing for the concert. It was indeed destiny. Metallica was performing two days after Dean's birthday in Inglewood, and since we both shared one dream: seeing them live, I saw it as a sign. Videos from their M72 world tour have bombarded my social media ever since it started, and I decided it was now or never.
“How much are the tickets?” Sam asked.
I bit my lip and mumbled: “14k.”
“For two tickets?!” Charlie’s eyes widened in disbelief.
“Each,” I simply said.
" (Y/N)?! " Sam's gaze was on me, and I could feel it burning. I looked at him and smiled awkwardly, and he gave me a silent look of judgment.
“I can explain!”
“I'm listening!” He said, voice as sharp as a knife.
“You know that rich vampire guy I was sleeping with before we met?”
“The son of the rich vampire?”
“Yeah, that one. After we killed them I found his laptop where he kept all of his secrets plus his bank account and asked Charlie to transfer everything to me.”
“How much?”
“Everything,” Charle said proudly.
“Untraceable and undetectable thanks to her, so technically it’s not our money,” I added.
“But wasn't that two years ago?”
“Yeah, he had a lot of money,” Charlie told Sam as he stared at me connecting the dots.
“That explains why the fridge is always full now.”
“Yeah, you’re welcome,” Charlie said.
I chuckled.
Sleeping with a vampire was probably the stupidest thing I have ever done. I didn’t know he was a vampire until I woke up one morning in his bed drowsy with two small holes on my neck. By then, I had been a hunter for ten years and The Winchesters were not in the picture yet. I’ve only heard stories about them; some hunters told me that they were monsters in human form, savage, causing chaos wherever they went; and others had kinder words in mind, like heroes, good, impossible to not like. After I realized what he was I was shocked, but not surprised. I had been collecting red flags like baseball cards all of my life, but I’ve never slept with an actual monster. I’ve been with narcissists, egomaniacs, momma’s boys, but never with a vampire. That day I made a mental note: “Never trust guys on dating apps. Sleazy pubs are better for finding sex.”
The day I planned to kill him and his old man was the day that I met the brothers and Charlie. I caught them trying to sneak into the property from the back, since the cameras there weren’t working. I saw them because I was trying to do the same so the servants wouldn’t see me. I could smell hunter’s blood from a mile away and they could too. Sam told me bodies were piling up in LA and I had no idea because they would cover their tracks well and I was too busy having sex with one of the perpetrators. Dean on the other hand was rolling his eyes because he couldn’t believe how reckless and stupid I was. We didn’t start on a good foot whatsoever. He thought I was annoying and I thought he was an obnoxious jerk. That was before we killed the vampire family.
After we finished the job with minor injuries we went to celebrate –drink. It was Charlie’s idea and I still thank her for that. A few beers later I realized the reason why Dean and I didn’t see eye to eye. It was because we were two sides of the same coin. He was a stubborn nerd with alcoholic tendencies and daddy issues and so was I. And the best part was we both liked the same type of music. Sam and Charlie saw right through us and left after two hours and we stayed and talked for hours. A few more beers and a whole lot of bickering and flirting later, we were fucking in his car like it was our last day on this Earth. I collected one more red flag that night and had too many orgasms. Drunk on sex we both went to his motel room where we had even more sex and barely got any sleep.
The next morning Sam and Charlie were grinning at us while we were trying to wake ourselves up with caffeine.
“I see you guys had a lot of fun,” Sam said, noticing our dark cycles. Charlie giggled.
“Yeah, too much fun,” Dean said, trying to keep his eyes open.
When it was time to say goodbye and exchange numbers, Charlie had yet another brilliant idea.
“You should come with us,” she said, leaving the brothers speechless, Dean especially.
“A hunter alone in a world is a terrible thing,” she told them.
“Did you just quote Maester Aemon?” I asked her. It was nice meeting a fellow Game of Thrones fan.
“You just became even more awesome!” She said and high-fived me. “She is coming with us, guys!”
I was indeed alone. I started hunting when my parents got killed by a werewolf when I was 19. I had no extended family just one friend and she had no idea what I was doing in my free time.
Sam and Dean just stared at each other but naturally agreed since Charlie was running the house and therefore I was moving to Lebanon, Kansas.
For the first time, I had my room and a place I could call home. The bunker was gray and dark and grew on me rather quickly, but things between Dean and I were strange at first. We both thought we were going to fuck each other’s brains out and never see each other again, but the universe (in this case Charlie) had other plans. He was actively avoiding me until I told him to suck it up and talk to me. We didn’t speak, instead, we were memorizing each other’s scars and moles in different positions…over and over again. We even woke up Sam a couple of times while Charlie was clueless since she slept with headphones.
Slowly, we were falling for each other and each kiss became more fatal than the last and since we now lived together, we were spending every waking moment in each other's presence. It wasn’t until one evening we were drinking and a young handsome guy decided to shoot his shot with me and Dean in a drunken jealous rage told him to piss off when he saw his hand on my hip. When the guy refused to leave me alone Dean punched him in the face and we got kicked out of the bar.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?! I was about to tell him to fuck off!” I screamed at him and he just stared at me in complete silence.
“DEAN?”
He came closer and cupped my cheeks with his hands kissing me gently. This time the kiss was different; it wasn’t filled with lust; it was more gentle and vulnerable. His lips were as soft as ever and for the first time I was so painfully aware of them, I wanted him to devour me whole.
“Why are you such a dick sometimes?” I asked, his face inches away from mine.
“I don’t like when people touch what’s mine,” he said, putting a strand of hair behind my ear. I suddenly became aware of my heartbeat.
“Since when do I belong to you?” I asked him, trying to keep a cool head even though my body was on fire. We never made it official, but we both knew it was inevitable.
“Since I belong to you, dickhead,” he said, and from that day on I was his and he was mine.
***
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t in love with Dean. We never said the words, maybe because we were too afraid to verbalize our feelings like grownups, but I knew he loved me just as much as I loved him. His eyes would always sparkle whenever we shared eye contact – even when we fought. He fought a lot, but mostly on hunts, because I would never listen to him and he knew better. In the end, we would get the job done and have angry sex to blow some steam. I’d never thought I’d end up dating a male equivalent of me. I could finally say I was happy with my life, even though objectively speaking it was awful 99% of the time. I was thankful for my chosen family and the fact that I got to experience love for the first time.
***
I had a hard time keeping the secret, but six months later it was time to celebrate his day. Sam, Charlie, and I decided to make everything Metallica-themed. His cake was a classic chocolate cake but the candles were two small guitars one white and one black (one had the number 3 on it and the other one had 6), The frosting was black and had a picture of the band from the 80s when Cliff was still alive. Dean loved Cliff’s bass, so we knew he was going to love the cake.
“Happy birthday, Dean!” We all said in unison as I was putting the cake on the table in front of him. Dean’s eyes widened, sparkling with delight, as he stared at the cake. His mouth dropped open in a gasp, revealing a grin that spread from ear to ear. His cheeks flushed with a rosy shade, and he could hardly contain the bubbling excitement as his eyebrows lifted in disbelief. It was a moment of pure wonder etched across his face. He blew his candles after we sang Happy Birthday to him and now it was time to open the presents.
“This is from me,” Sam said and gave him a bag.
Dean pulled a black shirt from it.
It was a beautiful Metallica shirt, a brand new one from their 72 Seasons merch collection with their yellow album cover and Metallica written on the top.
“Holy crap a Metallica shirt!” Dean said looking at the beautiful design. Sam smiled at him.
“Thank you, Sam! It’s perfect!” He then added.
“You’re welcome, Dean,” Sam said and hugged his brother.
“Now it’s my turn!” Charlie exclaimed and gave him her present.
Dean pulled out a CD and a cassette tape from a small box– their 72 Seasons CD and a limited cassette tape of the same album.
“Oh my God! Charlie!” Dean was bursting with excitement and my heart was melting. I don’t think I remember the last time I saw him this happy. His inner child was healing mine – he deserved the world.
“One is for your car and the other is for your laptop!”
Dean immediately jumped from the chair and hugged Charlie as tight as possible.
“Thank you,” he whispered.
“You’re welcome, birthday boy.”
Now it was my turn. While he was licking the frosting with his fingers I sent him his ticket.
Dean was staring at me as I was smiling back at him.
“Check your phone, handsome,” I told him, trying to contain my excitement.
Dean's brow furrowed just a touch, creating a faint line across his forehead as he checked his phone to see that he got an email from me.
“What is this?” He mumbled under his breath and opened it.
Dean’s face lit up with pure joy as realization washed over him. His eyes widened. His mouth dropped open in a wide grin, showcasing his astonishment, while a breathless laugh escaped him. He looked at me for a second before staring back at his phone.
“ARE YOU FREAKIN’ SERIOUS?” He then asked in disbelief.
“Yeah, and guess what? We will be right in front of the stage,” I said and showed him my ticket on my phone.
His cheeks flushed with color, and his eyebrows shot up, giving him a look of sheer exhilaration. He could hardly contain himself, there was an almost childlike glee as he wrapped his hands around my waist and lifted me, completely swept away by the moment. I squealed as he spinned me around like I was a ballerina. It was a mix of shock and joy, a perfect reflection of his excitement to see his favorite band live. When he kissed me my feet hit the ground.
I knew he would remember his 36th birthday for the rest of his life.
***
We packed our bags the next day and went to the airport. Our flight was at 6 pm, so we arrived around 3 pm after lunch. Sam and Charlie came with us because Dean didn’t want to leave Baby at the airport parking lot. We said our goodbyes and went to check in.
“Don’t let him do anything stupid,” Sam told me.
“Don’t worry I won’t! We will be stupid together,” I grinned and Sam looked concerned.
***
The flight was quick and smooth; we didn't even feel it. Since it wasn't my money (well not really) I decided to splurge and booked us two nights in the four-star hotel next to the YouTube Theater where the concert was scheduled. They had a pool, spa, and breakfast buffet, so naturally, I figured Dean was going to appreciate it.
“I don't have swim trunks, (Y/N),” Dean told me as we were entering our room.
“Yeah I know, that's why I bought you a pair a couple of weeks ago,” I said.
The room was an epitome of elegance, bathed in warm light from sheer curtains. A plush king-sized bed, adorned with crisp white linens and a couple of soft pillows was calling our names. A sleek nightstand held a vintage lamp in the corner, while a polished desk offered a coffee maker and a big flat-screen TV handing across the bed was screaming Dean’s name. The en-suite bathroom was heaven, featuring a spacious glass shower, complete with fragrant candles and premium toiletries.
Every detail was screaming luxury and I knew I made the right choice.
We put our bags on the floor and I turned to Dean to see him staring back at me.
“Happy birthday, handsome!” I said and kissed him gently. He immediately pulled me closer to him, closing the gap between us, deepening the kiss, and making me moan a little. I could feel his stubble on my face, his hands on my hips, slowing moving downwards to cup my ass.
“Shower?” He asked before moving his lips to my neck.
“Please,” I managed to say.
After having a quick shower we went to bed and he made love to me until we eventually fell asleep only knowing the sound of each other's names. I loved that man with all my heart and soul.
***
The next morning we woke up at around 8 am, which was our usual time, and went to have breakfast.
The breakfast buffet was a sight to see. There were freshly baked pastries like croissants, danishes, and muffins, all warm and inviting. A big bowl of colorful fruits sat nearby, with strawberries, melons, and pineapple ready to be picked.
In another section, you could find hot dishes: scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and plump sausages. There was also a selection of artisanal breads, with butter and a variety of jams to choose from. The drink station had fresh coffee and juices. Dean and I were salivating.
“Oh, this bacon looks crisp!” Dean said joyfully as he put a handful of bacon on his plate.
“If monsters don't kill us, high cholesterol sure will,” I chuckled and put a couple of pieces next to my eggs.
Breakfast of champions: bacon, eggs, fluffy croissants, coffee and for dessert fluffy American pancakes with maple syrup. No matter where we went we would always eat the same thing for breakfast.
“The pancakes are so good, my God!” I said as I stuffed my face.
“I need more bacon!” Dean said and went to get more.
After breakfast, we ended up taking an hour-long post-breakfast nap.
***
The concert was at 9 pm. After we woke up Dean wanted to go swimming before lunch so I gave him his new and only pair of swim trunks: blue shorts with yellow ducks all over.
“Seriously?” Dean said, looking at himself in the mirror next to our bed.
“I look ridiculous.”
I tried so hard not to laugh.
“It was either ducks or small purple dildos.”
Dean's face went blank as he looked at himself once more.
“Ducks are good.”
I, on the other hand, bought a black bikini that was perfect for my body. The sleek design highlighted my figure, and the black color added a touch of elegance. I was oozing confidence and sexiness and Dean couldn't get enough of it. His gaze never left my body and it was filled with admiration and affection. His expression was a mix of pride and appreciation. He was on another planet.
“Dean?”
“Um?” He asked, his eyes still fixed on my figure, his mouth partially opened.
“Your gun is showing.”
He looked down and saw what I meant.
“Crap!”
“Let me take care of that before we go!” I chuckled and pointed to the bed.
***
The pool was nice and big. After an hour of fucking like rabbits we went for a swim only to realize we were too exhausted to do anything with our bodies, so we went to the sauna.
In the sauna, my skin felt like it was being enveloped in a warm embrace. The heat made me aware of every pore, and I could feel the sweat starting to bead up and trickle down. It was both soothing and invigorating; my skin felt alive, flushed with warmth.
“I can't believe you planned all of this,” Dean said and closed his eyes, enjoying the sweat dripping from his skin.
I wanted to say it. I wanted to say those goddamn words, but I bit my tongue once more.
“I know, I'm the best,” I said proudly, while in the back of my mind the sentence "Love makes you do crazy things" echoed over and over again.
***
Lunch time, another post food nap and it was time to get ready. Dean wore his usual: jeans, a new Metallica shirt he got from Sam, a leather jacket, and combat boots. I decided it was time to turn myself into a rock’n’roll bombshell. I was going to wear leather black pants, Dean's old Ride the Lightning shirt I “borrowed” and never gave it back, and my staple: black Dr. Martens. I did my hair all nice and curly, and my makeup was a bit over the top and not something I usually do.
I was standing in front of the mirror as I started with a flawless matte base, then created a smokey eye with deep blacks and a dramatic wing. Thick eyeliner and voluminous false lashes (that I bought just for this occasion) made my eyes pop. I swiped on dark, matte plum lipstick and defined my brows to frame my face.
A touch of contour enhanced my cheekbones, and I added a hint of shimmer to my inner corners. Feeling powerful and sexy I was ready to heal my inner child with the love of my life.
“How do I look?” I asked Dean as I put on my leather jacket.
He bit his lower lip and scanned every inch of me in a second.
“Freakin’ gorgeous,” he exclaimed, making me blush.
He was never shy to give me compliments and show me how attracted he was to me. Even in pajamas, dying from period cramps, and crying because my favorite ice cream was sold out, he would still tell me how amazing and pretty I was. Like I said, I loved that man with all my heart and soul, it was pathetic and beautiful.
I kissed him and we were on our way.
We came four hours earlier at around 5 pm, a few minutes before they opened the gates and let us in. In an hour Ice Nine Kills was going to perform and after them Five Fingers Death Punch. When we came in, the pit was already filled with people, but it wasn't full yet. We found a spot just a few inches from the stage. My heart was pounding, I couldn't believe I was there, while Dean was squeezing my hand tightly not wanting to let go.
“Do you want a beer?” Dean asked me.
“I don't think that's a good idea. If we drink we will have to go and if we have to go we will abandon this perfect spot. A lot of people are already coming in.”
Dean nodded.
“Water?”
“That will do,” I agreed, considering we would be standing probably until midnight, staying hydrated was important.
He left to buy us two cups and came back after five minutes. The space was already getting crowded and I was growing impatient.
“I still can't believe we are here,” he told me. He was buzzing with excitement, eyes shining and bouncing on his heels.
“Do you think they will play Enter Sandman?” I asked him.
“I hope so. Pops used to play that song all the time in the car when I was a kid. Sam hated it.”
“My dad used to sing me that song whenever I couldn't fall asleep. I was a lousy sleeper but for some reason, that song would always put me into a coma.”
I told Dean as I remembered how much I missed my old man.
“You're still a lousy sleeper,” he said, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear.
“Yeah, because now I cannot sleep without you,” I said and kissed his cheek. I always had trouble sleeping, going to bed after 3 am, waking up at 3 pm, tossing and turning, nightmares, and so on… until I started sleeping next to him. I was never a big cuddler, especially since I would always feel uncomfortable whenever someone would try to hold me while I slept, but with him it was different. I would sleep like a baby next to him, he was home to me. His heartbeat was my white noise and his warmth was my safe space.
He smiled back at me and at that moment the show began.
Ice Nine Kills was…something else. Dean and I were trying to decide if we liked the music or not, but one thing we agreed on was: that we LOVED the performance. Gore, blood, and chainsaws were all far too familiar, but we especially loved horror references. The music was not bad, but considering we were both classic rock fanatics it wasn't something we would actively listen to.
“I love the Nightmare on Elm Street reference,” I commented after they finished the first song.
“Not bad,” Dean agreed as he wrapped his arms around my waist from behind and pulled me closer.
We were jamming to songs we'd never heard before. People around us were either utterly confused or dancing and head-banging like it was their last day on Earth.
“Oh! That's the Texas Chainsaw Massacre!” Dean said in my ear.
“I know,” I laughed, but I don't think he heard me considering the music was pounding in my ears.
After a good hour, they were done. The crowd was growing impatient again and so were we.
“Five Finger Death Punch is next!” I said and took a sip of my almost empty cup of water.
“I'm kinda excited about that.”
And to be honest I was too. We heard a couple of their songs like Wrong Side of Heaven and Jekyll and Hyde and instantly fell in love with the singer's voice. Dean even said the vocalist sounded a lot like David Draiman of Disturbed and I definitely could hear that.
We were waiting for what felt like hours and my legs started to hurt. I forgot what it felt like standing for so long; the last time I went to a concert I was 16 and my family was still alive. Dad took me to see Deep Purple, it was an unforgettable day.
Five Finger Death Punch came at exactly 8 pm. The band made everyone jump and scream. Their energy was unmatched and the vocalist was giving his all. His voice was strong. The guitarist even threw a couple of picks and Dean almost caught one.
“Damn it!” He shouted.
“Don't worry, maybe you will catch one from Kirk later.”
We all completely lost it when they closed the show with the iconic song Dean and I both loved: Jekyll and Hyde. I was singing my heart out with my man and the rest of the crowd while the singer was jumping around the stage. This whole band had such a strong presence, and I decided to check their other stuff after the show.
"Thank you all for being an incredible audience! Your energy means the world to us. I hope you enjoyed the show as much as we loved performing for you. It was an honor to open for one of the greatest bands to ever exist! Enjoy the rest of the show and be safe!” The singer said and the whole stadium screamed and clapped.
“DAMN RIGHT!” Dean yelled and I smiled.
Seeing Dean so at peace with life and enjoying the present moment made my heart flutter. That man deserved the world and even though I couldn't give him one where he was truly happy (mainly because that would require him to leave hunting behind and he would never do that) I could still make his world a little bit brighter.
I turned around and kissed him, leaving a smudge of lipstick on his perfectly full lips.
“Are you ready?” I asked him whipping the stain from his lips with my thumb.
Dean grinned widely, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Abso-freakin’-lutely!”
People around us were shouting, screaming, and clapping from excitement, and some people went to get more beer, and pee before the show– it was a beautiful chaos around us.
“My legs are killing me already,” Dean complained, trying to stretch as much as he could in the sea of people.
“Yeah, mine turned to stone,” I said and checked my phone only to see they were 20 minutes late. Being late was my biggest pet peeve; even the legendary band that was Metallica didn’t have an excuse. I groaned silently and looked at the empty stage again. I was impatient and filled with adrenaline; ready to sing my heart out, but at the same time I was missing the hotel bed.
Ten minutes later, our favorite chaotic drummer appeared, sending the whole stadium into a state of pure excitement and borderline madness. He waved and then Robert and Kirk appeared with their guitars and big smiles on their faces. The crowd was cheering even louder.
“Kirk’s hair is fabulous!” I told Dean, while we were clapping.
“Yeah, Sam should take some notes!”
And finally, there he was, in the flesh, our favorite voice and my favorite silver fox: James. I've had a crush on James ever since I was a little girl and seeing him right in front of me in his black leather pants, black boots, black shirt, and his beautiful gray beard and hair made my heart beat faster. The man had the presence of a God and I was his loyal worshiper.
“Oh my God! IT'S HAPPENING!” Dean yelled and hugged me from behind.
As the lights dimmed and the crowd erupted, Dean and I felt a surge of adrenaline once again. The opening chords of Ride the Lightning sliced through the air, and we couldn’t contain ourselves. With a wild grin, Dean threw his fists in the air, the pulse of the music igniting a fire within him. I was too starstruck to sing, my voice too shy to come out as I was standing there with my phone in the air trying to record a video with my shaky hands. It was my dad's favorite song and I wanted to immortalize this very moment.
Meanwhile, Dean was transported into another dimension. He swayed to the heavy riffs, shouting the lyrics as they echoed around him. Each note was a release, a reminder of the thrill of being alive. At that moment, we were just fans—no monsters, no worries—lost in the pure magic of live music.
“GOOD EVENING INGLEWOOD! ARE YOU READY TO HAVE SOME FUN?” James' voice was powerful with a gravelly timbre that conveyed excitement. We all screamed and with that, they started playing the second song.
“HOLY SHIT!” I yelled when I realized it was indeed For Whom The Bell Tolls.
As the iconic opening riff surged through the venue, Dean’s heart raced. He felt the familiar rush of nostalgia wash over him, memories of late nights with Sam on the road in the Impala echoing in his mind. The deep, heavy chords resonated in his chest, and he instinctively raised his fists, the crowd's energy fueling his excitement.
With each thundering beat, he found himself singing along. His grin widened, and he couldn’t help but sway with the music, lost in the moment. For Dean, it wasn’t just a song; it was a reminder of everything he fought for—the bond with his brother, the battles they faced, and the moments of joy amidst the chaos. This was rock and roll at its finest, and he was right where he belonged.
I, on the other hand, was trying so hard not to cry. The haunting melody of For Whom the Bell Tolls wrapped around me, pulling at my heartstrings. I felt a mix of exhilaration and nostalgia, the weight of the moment overwhelming as memories flooded back—times spent with my family, laughter shared, my mom telling my dad to turn the volume down. Oh, how I missed my parents at that very moment! The intensity of the crowd, the energy of the band, and the raw emotion in the music made it hard to hold back tears. It was a cathartic release. Dean was standing behind me pulling me closer with one hand as I was holding onto his index finger. I wiped my tears and sang my heart out for my mom and dad and after they finished the song I was left with a slight pain in my right ear. I might have forgotten to bring earplugs, but the truth was I didn't want to nor cared about protecting my ears from potential damage. To quote Dean: “Metallica is too good for earplugs.”
After bringing back so many good memories it was time to mix it up and play something from their newest album.
The melody of Lux Æterna hit me like a bolt of electricity. It opened with a powerful, aggressive guitar riff that instantly raised the tension in the air. As the verses rolled in, the haunting yet energetic melody intertwined with a sense of urgency. When the chorus exploded, the vocals soared, filling me with a mix of exhilaration and defiance. I was completely engulfed in the sound, feeling every note resonate deep within me, embodying everything I loved about Metallica as Dean pulled me closer to him while we were jumping in sync.
“Lux Æternaaaaaaaaa!” We would sing completely out of tune with James.
As Lux Æterna blared through the speakers, the crowd became a living entity, energy surging with every note. Fans pumped their fists and sang along, their voices rising in a powerful roar. Some swayed with eyes closed, while others jumped, danced, and headbanged, united in exhilaration.
“You guys are amazing!” James said. He was covered in sweat and I was salivating. The man was a definition of aging like fine wine and my daddy issues were showing.
I turned to Dean who was hypnotized, his eyes never leaving the stage.
"Would you give me a hall pass if I cheated on you with James?"
Dean arched an eyebrow, a playful smirk crossing his face. “James, huh?”
Amusement in his eyes, he added. “If you think I’m letting you run off with a rock star, you’ve got another thing coming.”
“Really?” I smirked.
“You’re mine—rock star or not.”
I couldn’t help but laugh at Dean’s reaction. “You think I’d leave you for James Hetfield? Really?” I teased, arching an eyebrow. His playful jealousy was endearing, and it warmed my heart.
Dean smirked, leaning in with that familiar teasing glint in his eyes. “Just making sure you know where my head’s at,” he said, his tone light but with an edge of seriousness.
“Rock star or not, I’m the one who gets to take you home.” He chuckled, and I could see the warmth in his gaze. “It’s you and me against the world, always.” At that moment, I felt a rush of affection, knowing our bond was stronger than any fleeting fantasy.
As the opening notes of Until It Sleeps fill the venue, the crowd erupts into a frenzy, a sea of raised fists. The energy was electric, and I felt the pulse of the music vibrating through me as everyone swayed together, singing along with wild abandon.
Beside me, Dean’s face lit up with pure joy, his excitement infectious. I glanced at him, my heart swelling with happiness, knowing this moment was deepening our connection. Surrounded by the thrumming bass and the roar of the crowd, I realized this night will be one we’ll always treasure. The crowd swayed around us, but at this moment, it was just us. He sang every word with fervor, and I couldn't help but join in.
The set list was out of this world: Whiplash, Too Far Gone? Welcome Home (Sanitarium), No Leaf Clover, The Call of Ktulu, and Moth into Flame are just a few they chose.
During Wherever I May Roam Dean and I were screaming every word so hard that I knew our vocal cords would hate us later. We would usually listen to that song after every successful hunt. It became a staple, a reminder of why we do what we do, and a beacon of hope.
“HOLY SHIT!” I shouted at him with a huge grin on my face.
“HOLY SHIT!” Dean shouted back and kissed me.
The band was looking so good.
I loved seeing Robert jamming with the fans with his signature long and beautiful braids while absolutely nailing every note on his base and Kirk just being Kirk and owning the stage in his green leather jacket. Lars was an absolute beast even at 60 years old.
When they started playing Inamorata, James took his time to walk around the stage while playing his guitar and smiled at us all. I could see his face as clear as day: his blue eyes had that sparkle of happiness; he had been doing this for decades and you could still see how much it made him overjoyed to see people enjoying his band's music, his smile was infectious and captivating and I couldn't believe he was standing right in front of me.
I turned to see Dean – he was completely mesmerized, eyes wide and mouth slightly open, staring at James as if he were witnessing a miracle. I chuckled softly, knowing he was the happiest man alive. It was beautiful to see this vulnerable side of him, and I couldn’t help but lean closer, sharing in his joy as the music enveloped us.
The next two songs were Blackened and One. To be completely honest I forgot about Blackened. I was so high on adrenaline, oxytocin, and serotonin that I couldn't remember the song and I was too embarrassed to ask Dean about it. I knew it was an old song, a classic, and I knew Dean would give me a death stare so I kept my mouth shut and listened to him sing (yell).
After the forgotten song James and his bandmates decided to rip our hearts out.
The ominous sounds of distant gunfire and explosions played through the speakers and the crowd fell into a hushed reverence. The chilling audio of war set an intense backdrop for the song that used to make me cry. The moment I recognized the opening notes of  One, a thrill shot through me, and I felt my pulse quicken in anticipation. It was as if the world around me faded away, leaving only the haunting melody that resonated with the depths of my soul. I never thought I would hear this song live. My dad showed me the music video when I was eleven (my mother was furious, and thought it was inappropriate) and I cried my eyes out, but loved the song. I rarely listen to that song though, it was too raw and reflected sorrow and despair in a way I knew far too well.
Dean took my hand and placed a soft kiss as James started to sing. I pulled him by his shirt and kissed him, wanting this moment to last forever. He cupped my face pulling me closer, ignoring the sound of people around us screaming the lyrics. It was just me and him, always.
When I broke the kiss I was inches away from his face.
As the crowd roared and the lights pulsed, I turned to Dean, adrenaline still rushing through me. With One echoing around us, I blurted out, “I love you.”
Time froze as surprise washed over his face, vulnerability breaking through his bravado. “Yeah?” he asked, his voice barely audible over the music. At that moment, amidst the chaos, I saw that beneath his tough exterior, he was just as scared of love as he was of losing it.
His eyes locked onto mine, and a slow smile spread across his face. “You mean that?” he asked, his voice softening amidst the music.
Before I could respond, he pulled me close, his arm wrapping around my waist. “I love you too,” he whispered in my ear.
At that moment, surrounded by the concert’s chaos, everything felt right.
Throughout the concert, I took a couple of videos and even got a picture of James shredding his guitar for my new phone wallpaper, but nothing could prepare me for the next song.
“ARE YOU STILL ALIVE?” James said as the opening riff of Enter Sandman sliced through the air, the arena exploded into a frenzy of energy. Lights flashed in sync with the relentless beat, illuminating faces filled with exhilaration. The heavy guitar reverberated through my body, a primal force that united the crowd in a shared heartbeat.
“DEAN!” I shouted, jumping up and down in excitement.
“I CAN DIE HAPPY NOW!” He screamed.
Everyone was singing, fists pumping, the raw intensity of Metallica's sound creating a charged atmosphere that felt almost electric. It was a moment of pure chaos and exhilaration, where the music enveloped us, and nothing else mattered.
Suddenly giant yellow and black balls began to fall from above, bouncing energetically into the crowd. They bounced and rolled, creating an atmosphere of pure chaos and fun. Fans reached up, trying to catch them, laughter and cheers erupting as the balls added an unexpected burst of excitement to the already electrifying performance. The sight of those bright, playful orbs amidst the intensity of the music created a surreal, unforgettable experience. One fell on us too as we jumped with other people making it fly to our left. I was trying to take a video but my hand was shaking while I couldn't stop jumping next to Dean screaming and feeling my throat slowly tighten.
Kirk nailed his solo, while his hair stayed fabulous and James was getting himself ready for the big finale.
“Hush, baby, don't say a word,”
“And never mind that noise you heard,”
“It's just the beasts under your bed,”
“In your closet, in your head!”
Dean and I were screaming at each other's faces, filled with nothing but love for one another.
“Exit light!”
“Enter night!”
“Grain of sand!”
“Exit light!”
“Enter night!”
“Take my hand!”
“We're off to never-never land, yeah”
James voice was so raw, so strong, I was still trying to figure out how he was 61 years old.
“Boo!”
“Yeah-yeah!”
“Yo, whoa!”
The song ended. I was already getting sad because I knew it was the end. I checked my phone and it was almost midnight.
The song finished and we all cheered and clapped wanting more.
I heard people yell encore, but after 15 songs they were done. Lars threw his drumsticks at us and someone behind us caught it. He said thank you but the crowd was so loud I couldn't hear him. Until he got in front of the microphone and said: “You were amazing tonight! Thank you for coming!”
We all screamed even louder. Robert came and tossed a couple of picks and people in front of us were fighting to catch it. He threw five picks in total, covering every part of the pit.
“Come on! I want one!” Dean yelled. We were all still clapping.
“Wait for Kirk! We are close!” I told him.
He indeed came next and blessed fans with a couple of picks, but Dean was now too close to catch one and it flew right above his head…
“DAMN IT!”
James, covered in sweat and looking like a God came right in front of us. I was standing there, completely ignoring Dean and trying to remember every corner of that man's face. While I was in Neverland and watching James throw his picks I didn't even register Dean screaming my name.
“(Y/N)!”
“Huh?” I snapped back finally and saw him holding a small white pick that had White Fang written on it.
“OH MY GOD!” I yelled.
“I DID IT!” He yelled back.
I loved seeing my man truly happy. I loved that band and I loved everything about that day.
***
Getting out of the venue was a nightmare. The crowd surged around us, bodies jostling and voices blending into a chaotic mix of excitement and exhaustion. I clung to Dean’s arm, grateful for his steady presence as we stepped into the cool night air.
“That was insane,” I said, smiling up at him. He grinned back, eyes still shining with adrenaline. As we navigated through the sea of fans, I felt a rush of happiness, knowing we had shared something truly unforgettable.
“That was incredible!” Dean exclaimed, his voice full of energy. “ Best night ever! Best birthday ever!” His smile widened as he looked at me, clearly still buzzing from the concert.
My legs were in pain, I was thirsty and sleepy but it was all worth it.
We were back in our hotel room 10 minutes later, both covered in sweat ready to sleep.
I took off my clothes right away, feeling like my legs were on fire.
“I'm in so much pain!” I complained.
“I cannot feel my legs!” Dean said.
“I'm gonna shower. Wanna join?” I was in my underwear standing next to him waiting for him to stop staring at my boobs.
“Coming!” He simply said and started taking off his pants while his eyes never left my boobs. I loved the fact he loved my body. I, like any woman in this cruel “man's world” sometimes would look at myself in the mirror and just hate what was staring back at me. His little stares were a strong reassurance that I was bullshitting.
Usually, showers meant fooling around (shower sex was complicated), but we were too tired for anything but kisses. We lazily washed ourselves in silence, kissing each other here and there.
“So you love me, huh?” He smirked between kisses. I just smiled at him as the warm water was pouring down my back.
“Yeah, imagine that! You're loveable,” I said as I was shampooing his hair. His eyes were closed but his mouth formed a small o.
“Well…”
“Shut up!” I told him.
After we were all nice and clean it was time to finally get some sleep. I put on a clean pair of underwear and Dean's old Led Zeppelin shirt I also “borrowed” and he put on a clean pair of black boxers.
We snuggled underneath the blanket, my head resting on his chest, feeling my body slowly relaxing and falling asleep.
“You really think I'm loveable?” Dean asked, suddenly. I was half asleep, but this question tore my heart a little and now I was wide awake. I knew he thought he was unworthy of love, unlovable, unclean and it made me incredibly sad, especially because he was the definition of a hero with a heart of gold.
“It’s hard to not fall in love with you, Dean. If you could only see yourself through my eyes, you would understand,” I told him and lifted my head and kissed him, but this time deepening the kiss. I was tired, and my body was in pain, but the urge to be close to him, to love him, was consuming me. He moaned into the kiss and immediately got on top of me. My hands went in his damp hair.
We kissed for a while, our souls intertwined, our bodies keeping each other warm before his hand went into my now wet panties, his finger entered me making me arch my back, moaning even louder into the kiss. I was still in pain, but Dean's touch was slowly healing me until all I could feel was pleasure and love. His finger suddenly left my panties and I was left needy and desperate, but he wasted no time and took off his boxers, his dick fully hard. “Lift your hips, sweetheart!” He demanded and I did, letting him take off my underwear.
He kissed me again before he positioned himself between my legs and entered me. I was so wet and desperate that I took him all instantly.
“You feel so good!” He whispered, his voice deep and raspy, sending shivers down my whole body. I dug my nails into his back as he started to move, light moans escaping my lips.
We were one. One soul, two bodies, always.
“Dean!” I moaned pathetically over and over again as his pace became more erratic. I was so close, so so close.
“God, I love when you say my name!” He managed to say as his face was buried in my neck. “Say it again!” He said and slammed into me.
“FUCK, DEAN!” I screamed, digging my nails into his back, even harder. I could feel the orgasm coming like a tidal wave.
“Oh God!” He moaned into my ear and slammed into me over and over again.
My toes curled, my whole body stiff as my skin was covered in goosebumps. An intense wave of electricity rushed through me as I came so hard I could see stars. Dean didn't stop until he came into me, filling me up completely. I'll have to worry about potential pregnancy tomorrow since we completely forgot the concept of condoms.
We were both breathless, covered in sweat, and panting in each other's faces.
“Best birthday ever?” I asked him.
“Best birthday ever,” he smiled.
I was not ready to check out tomorrow. I was not ready to board that plane and say goodbye to this hotel room. I was not ready for this to end.
As I was laying on his chest, slowly drifting away with my thoughts and as my body relaxed and felt heavier with each passing minute, Dean was playing with my hair and before I started dreaming I heard him whisper:
“I love you so much, sweetheart.”

Act 1. Part 1 : Glorious Past
Ships : Lewis Hamilton x Engineer! Reader , Max Verstappen x Engineer! Reader (future)
Genre : Drama , Angst , Romance
Warnings : Morally grey! Reader
Summary : The rivalry between the titans of Formula 1 goes off track and only one will reign victorious.
<Prelude Next>
Mercedes Amg Petronas F1 team: Race Engineer, a title that you will forever embellish in your CV proudly. How many can say that their name will forever be attached to the glory and dominance of silver, black, and blue? The name Y/N L/N will forever be remembered in and out of the paddock as the voice that led a Mercedes driver to his heroic reign of victory.
But the journey to the top was not rainbows and sunshine, No. Moral compasses and integrities were bent more than once. No one understood how much you’ve bled to reach the top. Each cut deeper than the rest. Not one person knew except for one, He understood because he bled much worse. Lewis Hamilton.
Lewis was your life. In and off track , you cannot deny it and you prefer it that way. You were attracted to him, how can you not? His passion for greatness, his drive toward power, and the way he always gets what he wants.
However, no matter how much you wanted Lewis. You were bound to Mercedes’ regulations — with the no driver relationships clause in Red Bold Capital Letters, staring back at you. That and that he was already in a long-term relationship. And with that, you buried your feelings where no one would know. At least that was the plan.
But Lewis being Lewis, never made it easy for anyone and you were on the top of his list. It was all innocent at first but it quickly evolved as your time together lengthened.
Complicated was shy of describing what your relationship with the English driver was. It started with light teasing on onboard radio calls for all of the worlds to hear ,lingering touches in the garage when toto was not looking and the incredulously expensive gifts given without reason — tagged and penned in Lewis’ penmanship that wrote “ for MY race engineer for being a good girl and doing a good job”
But all hell broke loose on the night Lewis won his first Championship with Mercedes.
The chequered flag was waved and Lewis had been the first to cross the line and deafening cheers erupted all over the Mercedes Garage. The smile on you was gigantic and a breath of relief left your lungs, while your co-engineers shook your shoulders back and forth as they shouted at each other.
“Lewis Hamilton, You are the World Champion!!” You exclaimed in your mic to congratulate your driver.
Lewis’ melodic laugh filled your ears and the next words you heard stopped your earth from spinning
“Y/N L/N, I fucking love you! I can't…” Lewis was not done talking, but you cannot process anything else. He said he loved you. Did he mean it? Or was it just a figure of speech?
Lewis didn’t mean it that way, right? You were mistaken. Yeah… you were. I mean, he was in a relationship, he had Nicole.
Clearing your throat, acting as if nothing happened. You once again radioed
“Congrats, Champ! Get in there” And with that, you removed your headphones and started to proceed toward the nearest restroom to compose yourself. But the world had other plans.
Still dazed you were almost near the exit when the voice of your boss stopped you in your tracks.
“Y/N? Where are you going? You need to be at the podium and get the constructor’s cup” Toto said as he went near you. Not allowing you to oppose as he gently held your shoulders and maneuvered you toward the podium.
And just like that you were led towards where Lewis, Felipe and Valterri were behind the podium as they waited to be called out. As you neared, your eye naturally drifted towards Lewis and a smile uncontrollably spread on your face.
Not until Lewis charged towards you lifting you off your feet and twirling you around. Your initial shock turned to giggles as you patted Lewis’s shoulders signaling him to stop and to put you down.
He heads your plea and finally puts you down but not long after pulling you in a tight hug that brought butterflies to your stomach. His hand placement was a little too much for friends and way too much for colleagues. Lewis pulls back a little and gazes at your face with a soft smile.
“My little engineer, I’m so glad you’re mine” He muttered as He once again hugged you, placing his head on the crook of your neck. Another wave of confusion and questions filled your head. You were about to question Lewis on what he meant by that, but you were cut by the announcer calling Lewis towards the podium.
You were left alone to your thoughts, but once again you were not granted peace when you felt a soft nudge and an instruction for you to go to the podium and claim the constructor’s trophy.
the playing of the British and German anthems ensued to commemorate your Team as the winners of the race, but honestly, your mind was still muddled however you tried not to show it on your face. And at the last note of the German national anthem, like clockwork chaos filled the podium as non-alcoholic champagne was spraying everywhere. Joining in on the tradition, you took your bottle and sprayed everything and everyone in sight.
Thankfully it was nonalcoholic, it being Abu Dhabi, because if it were true alcohol you were sure that you were drunk. Because, a grinning Lewis Hamilton went near you once more but this time he nears his lips towards you, pecking your cheek on live television, where his girlfriend was just below the podium watching.
A small gasp leaves your mouth and your eyes widen. However realizing that literally thousands of people are watching, you try to play it cool as if it were an action between normal friends — by nudging Lewis aside and rolling your eyes, you then lift the bottle towards yourself and drink from the spout. Oh, how you wished it were alcoholic.
After the podium fiasco and saying goodbye to the team, you immediately went back to your hotel room. Pushing yourself towards the bathroom with your Pjs; a set of shorts and a tank top at hand — you washed off today’s sweat and thoughts. And led yourself to bed.
A celebratory party is sure to happen in Lewis’ honor, which means drinks, loud music, people, and Lewis … Lewis's girlfriend. You will not let yourself experience that, no, not today.
Groaning into your pillow, The series of questionable actions Lewis’ had done today had all come to your mind. Why must you cling to them? They for sure meant nothing to the British Champion. Right? You dug yourself deeper into the rabbit hole of your mind and without knowing you passed out from exhaustion.
And finally, you’ve found peace in slumber. But luck was never on your side, as your sleep was disrupted by unrelenting knocks on your door. Groggy, you slowly stood up and went towards the door, not even bothering to look at the peephole — you opened the door.
“Lewis?” You didn’t believe your eyes, so you rubbed them and lo and behold, it was the Lewis Hamilton in front of you.
“You weren’t at the celebration. you’re my engineer, why weren’t you there“ His voice held coldness and authority. Lewis wasn’t asking for answers, he was demanding them.
Your mouth opened and closed as you struggled to form sentences. So you just looked up at him.
Lewis’ jaw clenched at your lack of answers.
“Well? Aren’t you going to answer little engineer?”
“I wasn’t up for it? “ You tried to excuse. But you wish you didn’t as you saw the change in his expression. Fuck, Lewis was now angry.
He then grabbed your wrist and pulled you and himself into your room. As he closed the door, he pressed your back against it and caged you in between his arms.
“you weren’t up for it?” Lewis reiterated your words menacingly bringing shivers up your spine.
“Tell me, Y/N L/N. Why was my little engineer not celebrating my championship with me huh?” As Lewis spoke, his eyes lingered on your lips then came back up to look at you in the eye.
Not being able to answer or handle his glare, you tried to move your face to the side — only to be stopped by Lewis's finger on your chin. Leading your eyes back to him
“Nu-uh, Y/N. Eyes on me and answer my question. “
“I- i. Uhm” you stuttered as another chill went up your spine as Lewis’ hand now caressed your jaw.
“Speak Y/N” Lewis pressed, now a smirk presented itself on his lips. Your eyes naturally fell towards it At the sight of the smirk that haunted your dreams , you couldn’t help but bite your lip.
Being so concentrated on looking at Lewis’ lips you didn’t see that he too was looking at yours. His eyes darkened at the sight of you chewing at your lips, the habit you’ve done when you wanted something.
Letting go of all pretenses, Lewis drops down and kisses you with his pent-up emotions and tension that brewed between the two of you.
You gasped in surprise, and Lewis took advantage of this and pushed his tongue into yours. He then took your lower lip into his and softly bit it and soothed it by sucking, earning a whimper from you. Your hands slithered up his muscular chest towards his hair. A groan left his lips when you gently pulled at his nape.
At the sound of Lewis’ moans. It was as if you were drenched in ice-cold water. You were kissing Lewis Hamilton. IN A RELATIONSHIP, Lewis Hamilton.
No this was not right. No matter how good and right it felt. He was not yours.
You started to pull away, but Lewis only strengthened his grip on you. Trying once again to connect his lips to yours.
“Lew- I. We can't do this” You tried to push Him away. Yet, Lewis only caught your hand which was trying to create distance between the two of you.
“What, why?”
“Our contract says that we can't have a real-“ you tried to reason
“I don’t care about the contract! I’ll make them change it , I promise.” Lewis tried to calm you
“No, but Lewis we still can’t do this . This is not fair”
“Y/N, If it’s not already obvious, I like you. Fucking hell, I might even lo-“ As Lewis started to explain. You’ve had enough— you will not be a third party.
“ LEWIS YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND! “ at your outburst, Lewis was stunned
“I will not be the other woman, Lewis. I will not let myself be degraded to that level… I will not exchange my dignity for you— no matter how much I love you. “ You couldn’t handle it anymore, your tears started rolling down your cheeks.
“Baby Shh. Y/N Listen to me. Nicole and I broke up. I ended it earlier. “ Lewis tried to explain.
You just ruined a long-term relationship. The horror suddenly seeped into your brain.
“Fuck, no, it was not your fault Y/N. We’ve been having problems for a while and it was time to let go. You understand? “
You absently nodded, but you knew that you were a major part of their split … and you knew one day that this would come back at you one way or another.
But for now, you will enjoy your success in getting to call Lewis Hamilton yours. You were on the top of the world. Nothing can dampen your high, or so you thought.
2015
“Hey Y/N, did you hear? Red Bull is putting a kid on the track” Bonno, Lewis’ other engineer said. You were at Silverstone, testing several changes done with the car.
“Really? What’s his name?” You asked back
“Max Verstappen”

NAPS
Dean Winchester x Reader
Warnings: my horrible writing is a red flag
Summary: When two naps together changes both of your perspectives.
Tumblr media
You hardly ever got along with anyone...until you met Dean Winchester. It had been over eight years since you knew each other, and still, no one could explain the two of you. It wasn’t news that Dean wasn’t open with you, and there hadn't been any physical contact from him since the beginning of the hunts. When you joined him and Sam, you longed for the attention of the older Winchester and felt stupid for falling for Dean Winchester—the only guy in the world who didn’t give in or give a damn about you. It irritated you just as something about you irritated him, thus making the hatred mutual.
With your eyes closed, you grunted curiously when you heard your bedroom door creak. The weight beside you suddenly changed and sank strangely. You looked over your shoulder and rubbed your eyes, confused to see Dean lying next to you as if it were his own bed.
—Dean? What are you doing here?
You asked, sitting up in bed and yawning as you turned to look at the shirtless and pantless Winchester.
—You got here quickly, sweetheart.
He said with a drunken smile on his face as you looked at your body covered by his shirt, which you had stolen from his wardrobe after a hunt three years ago.
—Ugh, it’s kind of cold here, come closer, honey.
Dean requested, smiling at you while your eyes widened at the situation.
—You’re so beautiful, shit.
He murmured, crawling closer to your body and burying his head in your neck while planting wet kisses along its length.
—Dean… what?
You gasped, confused by the situation and hating how easily your body responded to Winchester, despite hating to admit that you liked it.
—Annie, baby, you’re so sexy… more than I remembered. And uhm, you smell so good.
Dean murmured against your neck, and immediately your eyes rolled at the situation.
—Okay, I’m not your baby, Dean.
You said, pulling away to see Dean’s confused and almost hurt expression.
—But you said you wanted to have sex.
—Uh-huh… — you cleared your throat before continuing — Yes, we had sex in the car, and I told you I liked to sleep comfortably afterward.
—We had sex? Damn, I didn’t pay attention to what you said… I.
Dean said, running his hand through his hair and furrowing his brow.
—Yeah, Dean, because all you pay attention to are breasts.
You said, and he laughed at you, making you look at him with a slight smile on your lips.
—And butts too.
—Of course, it’s the package.
You murmured, lying back down in your old position, but before you could sleep, you heard Dean grumble.
—It’s kind of cold, isn’t it, doll? Come closer to me, please.
Dean requested, and knowing there was no point in arguing with a drunk Dean, you intertwined your legs with his and laid your head on the Winchester's chest. Hearing Dean grumble, you felt his hands moving up and down your waist, occasionally lifting your shirt. His hand slid down to your thigh and stopped at your butt, giving it a pleasant squeeze before he started rubbing his hand up and down your thigh again.
—Uhm, I think no one has a butt as good as this, doll.
Dean murmured before falling asleep, clinging to you like glue. Unlike him, you could barely close your eyes during the night, unsure if you were upset that Dean would never really like you and that he was expecting another woman or if you simply hated him too much to be comfortable with him there. Something you knew wasn’t true.
The next morning, his hands were no longer there, the bed was empty and cold, and for a second, you thought it had all been a dream.
When you went downstairs and headed to the kitchen to look for your tea in one of the cabinets, a large hand grabbed your arm and turned you around brutally.
—Hey!
You protested against the grip, which was released when Dean swallowed hard, watching your angry eyes.
—I… uhm, let me ask you a question. Did we… you know? Did we…
—Have sex? You’re the guy who has sex the most in the world and can’t directly ask if we had sex?
You said with a furrowed brow as you walked around the kitchen toward a kettle to boil your water.
—Did we have sex?
Dean’s voice sounded reluctant, and you were confused by it.
—No, we didn’t, Winchester. Your fantasies only happen in your dreams. You better see a doctor if you can’t tell the difference.
Your playful tone made Dean snort loudly and approach you once more.
—Why did I wake up in your bed then?
—Because drunk you is a big baby who doesn’t accept being contradicted and thought I was some Annie.
—Okay… and why were you wearing my shirt?
Dean asked, placing his hands on his hips.
—I’ve had it for about three years, you never asked for it back, so I thought it was no problem.
—Right… so we didn’t have sex?
He asked, walking around the kitchen while you stood still, looking at the stove.
—No, you can rest assured that your miseries didn’t touch me, Winchester.
—My MISERIES?
You heard him shout before Sam entered the kitchen.
—What’s going on?
—Nothing!
—Nothing!
You and Dean answered at the same time, and Sam narrowed his eyes at both of you, who shrugged simultaneously.
—You two are acting the same. Why?
—I have to do some research.
You said, leaving the kitchen and leaving the Winchesters behind.
It had been about three weeks since Dean had slept with you… squeezing your butt, and you weren’t sure why that still lingered in your mind. Even the two brothers had noticed something strange about you. You usually talked a lot after solving a case, which annoyed Dean the most, or so you thought. Now, you had never been quieter in the Impala.
—Are you okay, Y/N?
Sam asked, looking at the back seat where you were stretching your legs across the entire seat with your eyes closed.
—Uh-huh, just tired.
As soon as you gave that answer, silence returned to the car, except for the music that was suddenly changed by Dean, who had put on "Knockin' on Heaven's Door."
—I love this song.
You murmured, changing position in the seat when you heard thunder echoing through the sky.
—I know.
Dean murmured so softly afterward that you didn’t hear, but Sam, who was next to him, frowned while looking at his brother’s serious profile as he drove.
After two hours, the rain had started to fall, and you were far from the nearest town. Night had fallen, and the roads ahead were beyond the safety limits you allowed Dean to continue.
—Dean, it’s dangerous to drive like this.
You argued, holding the front seat to look at the two men but mainly the older one who was driving.
—Stop and do what?
—Wait for the damn rain to stop, Winchester.
—All night?
Dean scoffed, and you glared at him.
—Don’t act like we’ve never slept in the car before, for God’s sake. — not getting a response, except for a petulant Dean, you sighed loudly and narrowed your eyes, very irritated.
—If you want, I’ll stay in the damn trunk, Dean, just don’t try to kill us in the middle of the road during a storm.
And for the first time in eight years, he listened to you and stopped the car in an empty lot to wait for the storm to pass.
—Okay, I’ll go back there with…
Sam had started to speak when Dean opened the car door, got out, and then opened the back door, looking at you.
—Okay, fine, you really had to…
You started to grumble, but Dean prevented you from getting out of the car when he got into the back with you, threw his wet jacket on the floor, and said nothing but just looked at you, telling you to stay.
The two of you had never been in the same seat. You always shared with Sam, who used to let you use his long six-foot-five frame as a mattress. It wasn’t comfortable, but you and Sam didn’t complain. Now, Dean always hated nights in the car.
—What? You’re taller; you’ll be more comfortable there.
Dean explained when he caught Sam’s curious look fixed on him.
—Nothing, it’s just that Y/N and I are used to sleeping back there. If you want, you can take the front.
—If you want to switch…
Dean’s tone started to lean toward something impatient, and you, intervening to prevent a worse atmosphere, interrupted.
—It’s fine like this, and you getting out again will wet your car twice and could ruin the seat. It’s fine, Sam. Dean is right, you’re bigger, so we should stretch more.
For the first time, you agreed with Dean, and out of the corner of your eye, you saw the older one’s smile at the corner of his lips.
—I’m right.
—Shut up.
You and Sam said simultaneously before sinking into the seats somewhat uncomfortably.
An hour had passed, and somehow Sam had fallen asleep, unlike you and Dean, who were sitting with your feet on the floor, not stretching out for a minute.
—If you want, you can stretch out.
You whispered, and Dean looked at you with tired eyes.
—What if we both do? Like…
Dean said, raising his legs onto the seat and gesturing for you to do the same, intertwining your legs with his in a strange way.
—Okay, yeah, better than nothing.
You whispered softly so as not to wake Sam, and then another silence fell as both of you closed your eyes, trying to get some sleep. When you shifted again, uncomfortable, Dean opened his eyes and sighed with his head against the backrest.
— If you want, we can try something else.
He suggested.
— What?
— Come here.
Dean called you over, but you remained in the same place.
— You sleep like this all the time with Sam; come on, I don't want to hear you complaining that I caused your pain.
He insisted, and you got on your knees to move toward Dean, who had stretched out to the end of the seat where you were.
— Are you sure?
You asked hesitantly before lying on top of him.
— You're like a mini hamster, it's not like I haven't already slept with you.
— You didn't know it was me.
You said with your legs spread, one on each side of his waist. Dean's crossed arms suddenly uncrossed, and his hands landed on your waist.
— I knew afterward. Now, lie down.
His voice was firm but ended with a softness you had never heard before. When you didn't lie down, Dean pulled you down, and in one swift motion, you were sitting on his pelvis, swallowing hard at the position you were in.
— Okay.
You murmured, lying on Winchester's body. Your head slipped onto his neck, and Dean's strong arms wrapped around you in an embrace.
— It's cold, that's why I'm hugging you.
Dean tried to explain, and you just nodded your head on his neck, murmuring a small "uh-huh" that made Dean feel breathless from the vibration.
— Thanks.
— Uhm.
In the morning, your eyes opened, and in one movement, you lifted your head, observing Dean's closed eyes and the light snores escaping his mouth. You smiled slightly and widened your eyes at Sam's cough, which caught your attention. Your face turned to him, who was looking at you with a raised eyebrow.
— Shut up.
You murmured, laying your head back on Dean's chest as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
— I didn't say anything.
— But you thought it.
You murmured.
— You know he doesn't really hate you, right?
Sam asked, and you closed your eyes, trying to block out the sunlight.
— I don't know, Sam.
— If he hated you, he wouldn't let you stay close…
Sam added.
— Except for the fact that he doesn't let me stay close, Sam. Now I need to stretch.
You groaned, opening the door where your feet were and getting off Dean. Within ten minutes, Dean woke up, propped himself on his elbows, and looked at you outside the car. When you turned to look at him, Dean looked away from you.
— We should go.
He said this before getting out of the car and into the driver's seat without looking into your eyes. After an hour, you were back at the bunker, and you had never seen Dean so silent. He might not talk to you, but he was always mumbling to Sam and the walls; he was kind of like you. After three days of silence from both of you, Sam was tired of it, tired of you both not admitting your own feelings, so he sent you both to get food, which made no sense, but since you weren't talking much, you didn't complain or argue with his request. Inside the Impala, you sighed and received a sideways glance from Dean.
— Sam wants us to talk.
— About what?
Dean asked, and you shrugged, looking at the street.
— Maybe about how you've been acting like an idiot for three days? But it's not new because I'm used to it.
You said without thinking and looked at him with wide eyes.
— Oh, I've been an idiot. How have I been an idiot?
— Come on, Dean.
— What?
Dean asked irritably, and you huffed.
— What's your problem with me? I know it has nothing to do with the reason you've been sulking since we got back, but why do you hate me?
You asked, turning to him and putting one leg on the seat.
— I don't have a problem with you.
Dean denied without looking anywhere but the road, and you didn't know if you hated that or preferred him to stay focused and not kill you.
— Right.
You murmured, looking at the car ceiling, impatient with Winchester.
— What? What's the problem?
Dean asked, and you shook your head, now not looking at him.
— Nothing.
— Come on, Y/N.
Dean called you, and you laughed without any humor.
— Just drive to the restaurant, Dean.
— I don't have a problem with you, okay?
— Bullshit.
You scoffed.
— You're the one who has a problem with me.
Dean argued, and you looked at him, impressed.
— I can't believe you said that. Of course, I have a problem with you because you have one with me.
— No, I have a problem with you because you have one with me.
— Oh, come on.
You huffed, looking away, and in a quick move, Dean parked the car and pulled you close. One of his hands landed on your neck, making you look at him, and suddenly Dean's lips were on yours, in a calm kiss. Your tongues intertwined, and when you both needed air, you pulled away, startled.
— You can't do that.
You scolded him, and Dean laughed.
— Stop laughing; you can't kiss me after being weird for eight years, you idiot.
— Listen… I, uhm, I think…
Dean said, clearing his throat and scratching his neck.
— What's wrong with you, Dean Winchester?
— Everything, I'm all wrong, Y/N. I don't know how to show love because I never received love. I don't know how to be a decent guy, and I don't know how to be decent to you. I don't hate you; I just hate not being able to get close to you… damn.
Dean muttered the curse at the end of the sentence, expressing all his insecurities about what he had said.
— I think you're a pretty decent guy to me.
You said after a moment of silence, and Dean turned his gaze to you when he saw you with a slight smile.
— You never cared about me. I thought I did something and… I don't know, you never got close, so I never did either.
— I never understood what little Sammy did to keep you so close…
— He wasn't a jerk…
— Thanks…
Dean winked at you, and you laughed before pulling him into another kiss.
— Why were you acting all weird?
You asked, and Dean looked into your eyes before kissing you again.
— Sleeping with you on top of me made me think I let Sam sleep with you all those years when I wanted it to be me. I couldn't look at your face without remembering.
— Really? I thought the same thing when you squeezed my butt the night you were drunk.
You murmured between small kisses.
— I wasn't lying when I said no one has a butt as good as that.
— You remember.
You pulled away to see his face, and Dean smiled at you.
— I remember some things from that night and I confirm that I knew it was you.

————————————————————————
Nestled in a peaceful wood, a soaring castle of red, white, and gold peeked through the trees. Fluttering flags and angelic marble sculptures decorated the castle as well as exquisite stained glass murals that told the story of its inhabitants: a selfish prince, a curse spoken, a red rose, a curse broken.
Four visitors exited a strange, colorful ship from another world and set across the long path leading to the castle.
“Woah, this place looks really…different,” Sora commented, noting the cheerful exterior and vibrant decorations of the castle. He turned to Roxas. “You’ve been here before too, right?”
“Yeah. I don’t remember it looking so…pretty.” His brow furrowed. “It was dark and spooky more than anything. Granted, I wasn’t exactly a welcome guest. I was sent here on missions for the Organization, so I snuck around a lot.”
Naminé gave his hand a sympathetic squeeze. “This time will be different, you’ll see.” She was very determined that the two of them should enjoy their lives now that they were their own people.
“I wonder what happened,” Kairi said as the castle loomed closer. “It definitely seems different from what you’ve told us, Sora.”
“But a good different. I hope Beast and Belle are okay. Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and Chip too…”
Kairi’s expression softened. “You miss them, don’t you?”
He smiled and reached for her hand. “I missed all my friends. It’s good to be back.”
At last they reached the main entrance. As Sora lifted a hand to knock, however, the double doors burst open, and their group had to scramble backwards to avoid being smacked in the face, Sora especially.
Before them was a young woman with rich brown hair and warm eyes, and with her was a prince with reddish hair and striking blue eyes. Belle immediately enveloped Sora in a big hug.
“Sora! It’s so good to see you!” She leaned back, her face lighting up as she spotted who was with him. “And Kairi, what a wonderful surprise!” She hugged Kairi next, and the two girls smiled and laughed, enjoying their reunion.
“Welcome back, Sora,” the prince said, and Sora titled his head. The prince was with Belle…something about the way he talked reminded Sora of an old friend…And most of all, his eyes seemed awfully familiar…
Sora’s eyes went wide. “Beast? You’re human?”
The (former) Beast nodded. “Belle broke the curse.” He turned to his wife and smiled.
“Only at the last possible moment,” she said, a touch of anguish in her voice as she reached for his hand. “If only I’d known sooner.”
“What’s important is that we’re together now,” he replied, gently resting his hand over hers.
The lovestruck way the happy couple was looking at each other made Sora’s heart melt, and he sighed and glanced at Kairi. But when their eyes met, a pained expression flickered across her face, and she ducked her head. He frowned. Was something wrong? He’d have to ask her later.
He turned back to their hosts. “If you’re not a beast anymore, then what should we call you?”
“You can call me Adam.” He looked to Roxas and Naminé, who until now had kept a polite distance as Sora and Kairi reunited with their old friends. “And who are our other guests?”
“My name is Naminé,” Naminé said, touching a hand to her chest. “Thank you for having us.” She had seen this place before in Sora’s memories, but it was nice to be here in person. Especially because the castle was so different now. Full of light and life instead of shrouded in shadow and sadness.
Roxas fidgeted and cleared his throat. “And I’m…Um, my name is Roxas. I…uh, I don’t think you remember this, but this isn’t my first time here. I…snuck around before, helping the Organization…”
Sora cringed at Roxas’s honesty, waiting for one of Beast’s famous tempers, especially given how Xaldin had tormented the poor Beast. But instead Prince Adam smiled amiably. “Roxas, it’s nice to finally meet you.”
He really had changed, and Sora was glad to see it.
“And no more sneaking around,” Belle chided, “you’re our guests!”
With that the four of them were led inside the castle, and Sora’s eyes lit up when he saw more of his old friends in the foyer, in human form instead of their cursed forms. “Lumiere? Mrs. Potts? Cogsworth! And you must be Chip.” He grinned and ruffled Chip’s messy hair, then hugged the rest of his old friends.
“How would you all like a nice spot of tea?” Mrs. Potts offered.
“No no no, forget tea!” Lumiere said, waving his arms. “These are our guests! We must put on a show.”
“Don’t overdo it,” Cogsworth muttered, his mustache twitching as he fiddled with his pocket watch. “Remember last time when you—”
Lumiere ignored Cogsworth and grabbed Naminé’s hand. “Cherie, come with me,” he said, kissing her hand. Naminé’s eyes went wide and she looked to Kairi, who smiled and nodded to reassure her. Lumiere led her through the castle halls and the others followed close behind till at last they reached the banquet hall. Naminé was seated at the grand table once Fifi had dusted her chair, and Sora, Kairi, and Roxas soon joined her. Roxas shot Lumiere a look and inched his chair closer to Naminé, making Sora and Kairi snicker.
The court musicians played the music, Lumiere sang, and the four guests watched, awestruck, as a culinary cabaret unfolded before their very eyes. Plate after plate of food was wheeled out as their hosts entertained them, and the four of them tried all the dishes, desserts, and delicacies that were offered. Their favorite were these divine tartlets with apples cut into the shape of roses on top—a touching reference to the enchanted rose that had once dwelled in the castle. They were perfectly warm and just the right combo of crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside.

Sora asked the chef for the recipe, determined to make them later on himself, perhaps with Little Chef, too.
After dinner, Mrs. Potts offered tea, and once the guests’ stomachs had settled, the servants whisked them away to prepare for a ball. Madame Armoire showed Kairi and Naminé dress after dress, but in the end it was Belle who suggested a periwinkle dress with a hoop skirt for Naminé and a magenta one for Kairi with matching elbow-length gloves for each girl. Their hair was swept back into elegant updos, and Belle helped them choose tasteful jewelry that matched their dresses.

The boys likewise got ready with Adam, Lumiere, and Cogsworth’s help, donning tailored coats, vests, breeches, and knee-length boots.
“Do I look stupid?” Roxas muttered, casting a doubtful look in the mirror. He’d never looked so…frilly. He wore a gray vest with gold embroidery, and in his opinion, there were way too many ruffles poking out of his clothes.
Tumblr media
“Nah, and besides, this is all part of the fun,” Sora said. “Fitting in. Being a part of their world.” He wore a red vest with gold embroidery, and he adjusted his frilly lace collar.
“You’re a lot better at this than me,” Roxas noted.
“I’ve had a lot more experience, and I didn’t have to hide like you did. C’mon, let’s go see the girls.”
Sora, Roxas, and Adam approached from their set of stairs, and a moment later, Kairi, Naminé, and Belle appeared at their set of stairs. The boys’ mouths dropped open, and the girls smiled sweetly.
“I never knew getting so dressed up could be this fun,” Naminé admitted as they glided down the stairs, and Kairi smiled and squeezed her hand.
“I’m glad you’re having fun. After everything you’ve been through, after all the people you’ve helped, you deserve to unwind a little.”
As the two groups convened on the intermediate landing, Sora bowed to Kairi and she curtsied to him.
He offered his arm. “May I have this dance?”
She smiled and looped her arm through his. “Yes.”
Roxas tried to mimic what Sora had done but felt he messed up the bow somehow. Naminé still smiled and took his offered arm, and together they descended the red velvet stairs after Sora and Kairi. Belle and Adam followed after them, and before long the three couples were waltzing in the ballroom to soaring strings, the beautiful glass windows revealing the starry night surrounding them.
Kairi and Naminé thought it was the most picturesque, romantic place they could spend with Sora and Roxas, Sora smiled like a kid on Christmas now that he was dancing with Kairi like he’d dreamed, and Roxas was trying to make sure he didn’t step on Naminé’s silken heel-clad feet. But when she rested her head against his chest, his nerves slipped away and he couldn’t help but smile.
After a few songs, Belle and Adam took a break for tea and Sora and Kairi slipped out to the balcony, leaving Roxas and Naminé to themselves. Their first couple of dances had been a little awkward as they figured out their footing, but now they were gliding along with ease.
“What’s on your mind?” Naminé asked, her voice soft and sweet as they twirled to the music.
“The last time I was here, things were different. There was so much I didn’t know. I couldn’t get why the Beast, I mean Adam, was so protective of Belle because I didn’t understand what love is.”
“And now?” Naminé asked as Roxas carefully led her into a spin.
He smiled as she returned to his arms. “Well, I met you. That answer your question?”
She laughed softly. “Yes. And I know what you mean. When I was in Castle Oblivion, I was so lonely.” She glanced towards the balcony and the gardens where their friends were taking a stroll. “I wanted what Sora and Kairi have, and I thought I could take it for myself. But love has to be freely given, so I was alone again.” She looked at Roxas and smiled. “Then I met you, and everything changed.”
“Yeah. Thank you, Naminé, for finding me in the darkness.”
“Thank you, Roxas, for seeing me.”
They continued their dance, both feeling like they were floating amongst the clouds. The massive marble pillars lining the ballroom, grand gold chandelier lit with dozens of candles overhead, and ornate ceiling decorated with murals of smiling cherubs set against a baby-blue sky made everything feel magical. Neither of them ever wanted this moment to end.
Tumblr media
As the two of them twirled away, Sora and Kairi sat on the balcony together outside, the stars twinkling in the sky like diamonds.
“What’s on your mind?” Sora asked, unable to take his eyes off of her. “I noticed you were sad earlier, when Adam and Belle greeted us.”
The music from the ballroom floated towards them. “Prince Adam is human again because Belle broke his spell,” Kairi said at last. “But you still have to live with your curse.”
He tilted his head. “My curse? Oh, do you mean my Heartless form?”
She nodded. “At first it was just a Shadow, but it’s only gotten bigger and stronger. I can’t help but think that…maybe, if you didn’t have to save me, you never would’ve gotten split in two like that.” Her face betrayed the sorrow and regret she’d kept locked inside for so long.
“As if abandoning you was ever an option,” he said, his voice breaking as he reached for her hands. They were together again, but the scars from their separations remained, and the gesture brought them both comfort. “If this is a curse, it’s a small price to pay to have you by my side. Besides, I don’t see it like that. If anything, it’s a reminder of what you mean to me.”
She searched his face. As far as they both knew, his condition was permanent. And yet he saw it not as a beastly curse he’d have to live with for the rest of his life but as a symbol of how much he loved her.
“Then…that’s how I’ll see it too,” she promised. If he could see the good in it, then so would she.
He caressed her face. “Good. And you did break the spell, Kairi. You saved me. Turned me human again.” He gently stroked her hair, and her face flushed, her heart thudding in her chest.
“I couldn’t just leave you like that,” she said, barely above a whisper. “Not after what you did for me.”
“I know. And look at all the good that’s come from it.” He glanced towards the ballroom. “Roxas and Naminé exist because of us.”
Kairi’s expression softened. “That’s true, and I couldn’t be more grateful for them.”
“And I couldn’t be more grateful for you. For what we share,” he said, a tender smile on his face.
She returned his smile and cupped his cheek. “I feel the same.”
He melted into her touch, savoring this moment they’d worked so hard to create. Their long separations made every second spent together that much sweeter.
Presently, they rejoined their friends at the ball. As the four of them danced in the grand ballroom, they smiled and exchanged happy glances.
What a wonderful way to celebrate Sora being back with them, safe and sound. To celebrate Roxas and Naminé being alive and Kairi being whole. And what a perfect way for the two couples to spend an evening with their loved ones.

I especially love the final spot that shows the two couples enjoying their time together ❤️ It was the perfect way to depict that part of the story ❤️
Last but not least, thank you all for reading! Beauty and the Beast is such a special movie to me with so many happy memories associated with it, so it was a joy to write about it for this project. A lot has happened in my life since we started this zine, and it was really nice to come back to this story again and again to get my mind off of all of that.
Some notes on my writing process this time around. I really wanted to draw on the themes of the movie as well as the KH characters’ arcs in creating this story. So first of all, in the KH2 credits, you see that Adam/Beast is human again, so I knew I had to work with that and all of the changes that would bring to Beast’s Castle. Then, Sora and Kairi's part came to me very quickly given how Sora has a “beast” form of his own—Rage Form/Anti-Form. I asked myself how he and Kairi would deal with that moving forward, given how it seems to be pretty permanent even though Kairi “broke” his spell the moment she turned him human again back in KH1, and that's how I wrote their arc in this story.
Then, with Roxas and Naminé, I remembered Roxas's character arc in Days and spent a lot of time re-watching the cutscenes and dialogue from that part of the game to inform his characterization in this story. I wanted to show how he would act now that he understands why the Beast acted the way he did, now that he knows what love is. And with Naminé, it was nice to draw on her experiences in Chain of Memories and how she's changed since then and is now getting to go on the kinds of adventures she only ever saw in other people’s memories before.
Also, it was fun referencing some of the big moments in the movie, like the ball, the dancing, the conversation on the balcony under the stars. And then of course I couldn’t write a Beauty and the Beast story featuring food without name-dropping Be Our Guest in the title lol.
Thank you again everyone! ❤️

315 miles between here and there. 1,663 feet between the home Virginia knew, in the town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and the old house in West Virginia, where her uncle used to live. If dwelling like a hermit is considered living at all, she mused.
By the 302nd mile, her rusty old truck, another inheritance by her father, had ceased to run, sputtering and spitting as it slowed to a stop on the side of a road in the middle of nowhere. Virginia hadn’t been reckless, she had paid attention to the meter and was heading towards the nearest station when the tank was near-empty. She knew better than to overestimate the distance an empty tank could take her.
“Crud.” She muttered, hopping out the side of her car and slamming the door shut. She had a spare gallon in the back, but when she picked up the red jug only to find it empty, she cursed and threw it back into the truck’s bed.
Her phone was well-charged, though the lack of service made the attempt of contacting any help impossible. And so, Virginia knew she was stranded. Stranded somewhere in the woods of West Virginia, on the side of the road with the sun going down faster and faster. Damn autumn, why did the daylight have to go so quickly these days?
She would have to wait out her isolation inside her truck and flag down the nearest car. Virginia must’ve seen something like this in a horror movie before, a young woman stuck in the woods, at the mercy of the nearest stranger or strangers. It was getting colder by the minute, and after half an hour, she was shivering.
“I’m gonna die in West Virginia… Great.” She shuddered.
The house her uncle left to her ought to be a damn mansion if merely getting there cost her life. It should have impressive architecture, fountains, a zoo of lions, tigers, and bears. The toilets should be made of gold and the food imported from all over the world. The harder she shivered, the more Virginia cursed her uncle’s house.
Then, there they were. A pair of twin headlights floating between the trees far off in the dark. Perking up, Virginia sighed in relief and hopped right back out, waving her arm at the oncoming vehicle. It was another truck, rusty and old like her’s. Perhaps even the same year.
“Thank goodness!” Virginia said, pulling closer at her pathetic excuse of a coat.
The truck pulled over to the side, just a few yards ahead of Virginia’s. The driver parked it but didn’t shut the engine off. Soon, a figure exited the driver’s side and shut the door before slowly walking over to her.
“Are you alright, ‘mam?”
She couldn’t see him at first, but the voice suggested her hero was male. He was relatively tall, looked like he was dressed warm, and had a thick Appalachian accent. Must’ve been a local.
“Uh, yeah, but my truck’s outta gas. I was heading to the nearest station when it crapped out on me.” Virginia said, standing close by the driver’s door. “If it isn’t any trouble, would you be able to take me to the gas station? Or maybe to-”
“No trouble at all, miss.” The man said, waving his hand. “I can drive you to Slaughter’s, she’ll assist yah.”
Slaughter’s? Virginia paused. What kind of a name was that? Perhaps she was inside of a horror movie.
“Thank you, sir.” She said, forcing a smile. “Let me get some things.”
“Take yer time.”
Virginia grabbed her satchel from the passenger seat, The one possession that contained all forms of ID and basic needs, such as her phone, a couple of spare pads, her wallet, and a tiny booklet of sermons, a gift from her father.
She followed the stranger back to his truck and climbed into the passenger side, shutting the door carefully while he slid into the driver seat. Getting a better look at him, the man was rather handsome looking. He had a proud forehead, dark hair that grew only just past his ears, combed back over his head neatly with slivers of gray here and there. His cheekbones were defined, lips soft-looking and sun-kissed skin aged with lines. He must’ve been in his late forties or early fifties.
“Thank you so much, sir.” Virginia said as he put the car in drive, slowly merging back onto the dark road. “I was afraid I would’ve had to wait all night for someone to come along.”
“You’re lucky it was I who came along, miss. These woods aren’t exactly kind to standed women.” He said. While it was a warning, his soft-spoken voice suggested he didn’t mean to scare Virginia, merely inform her. “The name’s Lemuel, by the way. Lemuel Childs.”
Virginia repeated that name in her mind. Where had she heard that name before? Surely they had never met before. And yet, Lemuel Childs plucked the chords of her memory, as if she was trying to recall the tune of a song she used to know.
“Nice to meet you, Mr. Childs. I’m Virginia Godwin.” She said,
“Godwin?” Lemuel’s brow furrowed as he stared ahead at the road, illuminated only by the lights from his truck. “You wouldn’t happen to be related to Joshua Godwin, would you?”
Virginia perked up. “He’s my uncle! Well, he was.”
Poor uncle Joshua had suffered a sudden stroke only two months ago. He was buried in their family plot in Gettysburg, but he had lived in this backwater town in West Virginia most of his life.
“We heard about that. My condolences.” Lemuel said, glancing over at Virginia with a sorry expression. “He may not have been part of the congregation, but we always kept him in our prayers.”
A religious man? Of course he was, Virginia thought to herself. She had nothing against men of God, being a Christian woman herself who knew her good book well enough. But she always felt weary around the type who felt the need to announce to others about their good will, always praying for those who didn’t ask for it.
After Joshua’s wife, Virginia’s aunt Grace, had passed about fifteen years ago, he had pulled away from God. It was a stark turn around, being that Joshua used to preach himself at his local Methodist church. But Grace’s death had stripped him of his faith and confined him within his humble home, no longer interested in the outside world or what God did with it. In a way, Joshua had already been dead for years.
“You’re with his church?” Virginia asked Lemuel.
He shook his head. “We’re a small congregation, but we’re firm believers in the Full Gospel.”
So they were Pentecostals, Virginia realized. Being raised a Methodist, she understood the importance of one’s personal relationship with God. But speaking in tongues and divine healing always seemed borderline occult to her. She wasn’t one to judge how others express their belief in the Bible or God, given those who did weren’t dangerous to others. But she had reservations about those who preached against modern medicine and rejected man’s ability to reason outside of the word of God.
“I assume my uncle was rather unfriendly towards your congregation, then.” Virginia said. The last memory she had of her uncle Joshua was when he ripped her mother’s Bible out of her hands and threw it against the wall, cursing God. “He was very, erm, critical of religion.”
“Yes, he was.” Lemuel chuckled. “Unfortunately, those who’ve lost their way are more prone to slapping God’s hand away than accepting his love. But we aren’t the ones who should pass judgment on them.”
Hate the sin, love the sinner, Virginia remembered. It wasn’t for man to judge man, but for God to judge man. Of course, man did so anyway, because who else would carry out the word of God? Virginia liked to believe that God had forgiven her uncle and saw through his grief before he passed onto the other side. It was better than believing in the alternative.
“And you? Have you accepted Christ as your personal savior?” Lemuel asked. It was a loaded question, sure, but Virginia wasn’t shy of expressing her love of God and his Son.
“‘He who believeth in me though he was dead, yet will he live.’” She recited.
Virginia hadn’t attended church in years, but she still knew all the sermons she sat through and read growing up. All the times her mother made her sit at the kitchen table and memorize each page of the Old and New testament weren’t for nothing. It didn’t matter if Virginia understood what she was reading, just as long as was reading it. Knowing the good book front to back gave one credit amongst their congregation, according to Virginia’s mother.
“I take it you’re a Methodist like your uncle was?” Lemuel said, not at all impressed by Virginia’s quote. Reciting the Bible didn’t indicate one’s faith. Merely that they knew how to read.
“Well, I’m… Sort of figuring that part out myself.” She confessed.
Truth was, Virginia was a Methodist in association only. It was the only denomination she had been familiar with her whole life. But after leaving church and keeping her faith all the more personal, she had found herself lost. That aimless wandering was what brought her to West Virginia, to this mountain where Lemuel and her uncle lived. She believed that God had sent her on this path, to accept the inheritance and shack up in her uncle’s house, away from her parents.
Lemuel was intrigued by Virginia. “Ain’t no shame in being lost, so long as you’re open to pathways revealed to you.”
Virginia knew a veiled statement when she heard one. Lemuel, like many other preachers and priests, believed their way of worship was the correct one. She had believed the same thing when she was still a practicing Methodist.
“May I ask what brings you to our side of the mountain?” Lemuel continued.
“My uncle left me his house in his will.” Virginia sighed. “His will stated, ‘do what you will with it. Sell it, burn it, live in it if it’s still habitable by the time of my passing.’ I’m checking it out to see which of those options are more probable.”
“I see.” Lemuel chuckled. “He did have an interesting sense of humor from what little interaction I had with him. Now, I know we’re little more than strangers, but if I may, I believe that the Lord’s given you an opportunity to start something here in this community.”
A bold statement from a stranger, yet his shockingly accurate presumption of Virginia’s motivation for leaving Gettysburg touched her. She believed the same thing, that this opportunity was the Lord’s way of opening a door for her, urging her to find whatever she was looking for in the mountains of West Virginia.
Lemuel also had noticed the chain around Virginia’s neck, the pendant hanging from it a small, silver Jesus on the cross. She was a woman of god, she must understand the importance of God’s mysterious will. Or perhaps, he was just searching for a reason for this young woman to stay. It had been a while since a new face came to their remote town. More people had died or left than moved in, which Lemuel never resented until recently.
“I believe so too.” Virginia agreed with him. “I’m a little nervous about this whole ‘move’ though. I know absolutely nobody here.”
“Well, how about I tell you a little about myself. I'm the pastor at my parish, a small but dedicated congregation. We’re always welcome to newcomers, if you ever find yourself in need of some guidance or just want some company.”
Virginia wasn’t itching to go back to church anytime soon, but seeing that she was inside a preacher’s truck and he saved her from freezing to death… “How could I say no to my rescuer?” She said,
“See, now you know the local preacher. Not a bad start, eh?” Lemuel smiled at her before turning his eyes back to the road.
“If the others are as kind as you, my anxiety won’t be so bad.”
“I should warn you ahead of time, though, our way of loving Christ might come off as intimidating.” Lemuel confessed. “It might seem intense or scary, but our methods aren’t dangerous, despite what others might say.”
Virginia didn’t know what he could possibly mean. Speaking in tongues, while might seem odd, wasn’t scary. Unless they were sacrificing virgins and eating babies, they couldn’t have been that intense. She smiled politely and shrugged. Whatever their methods were, Virginia believed if their love of God was evident, it didn’t matter how they showed it. Right?
Lemuel brought Virginia to Hope Slaughter’s gas station soon enough. The place was still open, thank goodness, and an older, worn-down woman in a coat was inside, standing at the counter with a vacant expression as she flipped through a book.
“Hey Sister Slaughter.” Lemuel opened the door for Virgina, who thanked him under her breath as she stepped inside the shop.
Hope looked up from her book and closed it, shoving it under the counter before standing up straight. She didn’t smile, she didn’t even say hello back. She wore a cross around her neck, and while Virginia assumed she was part of Lemuel’s parish, this woman didn’t seem happy to see her preacher.
“Pastor.” She replied dryly before her eyes landed on Virginia. “Who’s this you got here?”
“This here’s Virginia Godwin. Her truck’s on the side of the road just fifteen minutes up Wind Whisper.” Lemuel explained. Virginia noticed he had trouble keeping eye contact with the older woman, who’s eyes bore into his soul.
“Couldn’t call a service yourself?” Hope asked Virginia.
“I would’ve but there was no reception.” She answered, put off by Hope’s glum attitude. Whatever beef she had with the preacher wasn’t her problem, so why was Hope gruff with her? Especially since she needed help?
“Alright. I’ll have my husband Zeke retrieve your truck and bring it here, fill ‘er up, and get yah to wherever it is yer goin.” Hope said. “But you’ll have to shack up at this here station until it arrives.”
“Oh, that’s perfectly fine!” Virginia said, relieved that this cold woman was at least helpful. She turned to Lemuel, who had been standing beside her, keeping his head down. “Thank you again, Mr. Childs. You really saved me tonight.”
“Think nothing of it, Miss Godwin.” He smiled, the lines around his mouth and eyes deepening. “Again, you’re always welcome at our parish.” Lemuel placed a gentle hand on Virginia’s shoulder, squeezing it briefly before leaving her at the counter, waving goodbye before exiting through the front door.
Virginia was a little sad to see him go, finding his company far more warm than Hope’s. But just as promised, her truck was delivered to her, filled up, and she was finally back on the road to her uncle’s. The whole time, Virginia thought of Lemuel, his deep, hickory-smoked voice, and those hazel eyes that looked at her with the feeling of pure belief, as if he already knew she would say yes to him and show up to service.
But before Virginia left the shop, Hope had said something to her. Something ominous, darkened by the withered grunt of her thick accent, like she was a witch in an old, mountain tale. Virginia couldn’t remember exactly what it was, being she was itching to leave the gas station, but she recalled the mention of Lemuel’s name.
...
Just as Virginia suspected, the house was mostly vacant. Uncle Joshua wasn’t one to hoard or collect. It was exactly the same as it was when Virginia was there last, The floors were all carpeted, save for the tiled kitchen, which was tiny. The walls were made of wooden paneling, the one couch and armchair were made of brown velvet, and the entire place still smelled of cigarettes, despite being vacant for months.
There was a stack of mail by the door that Virginia had to push aside to get in, most of the letters coming from banks, local shops, and even some from her own mother, Helen. Virginia didn’t know why they still communicated, given they hated each other.
There were no plants, no paintings or picture frames on the walls, save for the single frame on the side table next to the armchair, which was of aunt Grace. There were no instruments either, which was odd because Virginia remembered her uncle being an impressive cellist and pianist. Perhaps he sold the family piano and his prized cello after Grace died.
There were two bedrooms, one was converted into what used to be Grace’s art studio, sketch pads, canvases, and supplies strewn about the room messily. The other bedroom was plain, with the one queen sized bed, two bedside tables, one with a lamp sitting atop it, the other used as a bookshelf. There was a wooden dresser against the wall furthest from the door, and a chest at the foot of the bed, a folded afgan resting on it. Virginia remembered that afgan, aunt Grace had knitted it.
The one bathroom was grimey but bare, with only a toothbrush, a tube of toothpaste, a comb, and a single bar of soap sitting on the sink. Uncle Joshua didn’t even have shampoo or body wash. He did look very hairy when Virginia saw him in the casket, which aligned with the fact she couldn’t find a razor.
She was grateful that the dwelling was bare enough for her to make small improvements upon it. Virginia didn’t need much, just a few potted plants, an air freshener, a radio, and maybe even a television set for the living room.
But the first thing she did was mount the wooden cross she took from her childhood bedroom onto the wall above her late uncle’s bed. While he might’ve forbade God from his home when he was alive, Virginia was eager to welcome Him back in with open arms.
“Lord, bless this house and may its previous inhabitant find peace in your love and grace. Amen.” She whispered to herself during her prayers that night.
And in her dreams, Virginia found herself once again seeing the preacher’s face. His enigmatic smile hadn’t left her mind ever since the ride to the station. There was something about it, how the way he looked at her gave way to the most confusing feelings within Virginia.
She dreamt that Lemuel was leading her down to a stream by the hand. When they got down to the edge of the water, he turned to her, smiled, and placed his hand over breast. His smile was as tender and kind as it was in the truck. It was as if he believed his touch was purely innocent and sweet. Virginia wanted more, but Lemuel didn’t move.
The next morning, she decided that day was all about distraction.
A woman’s ability to turn a house into a home was revered for a reason, and she would continue that tradition. It meant having to go out into town to get some things, but Virginia welcomed the adventure. She was curious to see what this small town had to offer. And it would give her the chance to meet more locals.
There was an antique store, a market, a nursery, a second-hand store that looked like it hadn’t been updated since the 90’s, a tailor, some small family-owned restaurants, an auto-repair shop, a butcher, and a barber shop. While Virginia wandered around, familiarizing herself with the town, she couldn’t help but notice how tightly-knit all the people were when conversing. It seemed everyone knew everyone and everyone knew that Virginia wasn’t one of them.
“You the new inhabitant at Old Joshua’s?” The old lady at the antique shop asked her when Virginia purchased some paintings and a basket of fake ivy to place over the fridge.
“Yeah, he was my uncle.” She told her. Guess word gets around very quickly in this tiny town.
“My condolences.” The old lady grunted. She wasn’t going to miss Old Joshua for sure. “He was… Well, I’m glad he’s resting peacefully.”
“Thank you, ‘mam.” Virginia said with a forced smile.
If this was how every conversation in this town was going to start, she’d rather shut herself inside and follow her late uncle’s lead. She took her purchases under her arms, along with the receipt, and bid the woman goodbye before heading for her truck parked outside,
In her haste to escape the shop, Virginia had collided with a figure. “Oh, sorry!” She sputtered, dropping the fake plant onto the sidewalk.
“Oh, hello again, Miss Godwin.”
It was Lemuel. Of course it was. He bent down, picked up the fake ivy basket and smiled politely at Virginia. She awkwardly smiled back up at him, believing this moment was a test set by God to see how she would handle herself in Lemuel’s presence.
“Pastor Childs!” She cringed at herself, feeling stupid for running into him like a mindless bull. “I’m really sorry, I was just about to throw these into my truck.”
“Redecorating, I see.” Lemuel commented, walking with her to her truck. “Bet that empty house has been desperate for a woman’s touch.”
“You have no idea.” Virginia agreed, placing the collected paintings into the truck bed. “Here, I’ll take that.” Lemuel handed her the ivy basket, which she placed on the passenger seat.
“It’s nice to see you out and about. Bet our town seems incredibly small and unimpressive compared to wherever you're from.” He said, resting his hands in his pockets.
“Well, I never really liked overly-populated areas. Too much noise.” Virginia crossed her arms over her chest, trying to warm her hands under her arms. “Also, the mountain’s incredibly beautiful in the daylight. I could take or leave the woods at nighttime, though, it’s pretty scary then.”
“Well, I hope you don’t have a habit of wandering around in the woods at night.” Lemuel joked.
Virginia shook her head. “Just when my truck isn’t running.”
Lemuel hummed, amused by her quip. In truth, a traditional man like he preferred it when women were driven, not driving themselves. Not that he believed women were incapable of the skill, just that they were meant to be taken care of, especially by their family. This lonely woman, without a man and without her parents in a new town… What was her mysterious past? Why did she come to their community alone?
“Have you thought about my offer?” He asked.
Virginia, in her loneliness and need for something to warm her body, had only thought of Lemuel in terms of satisfying her needs. She didn’t like the idea of attending a service where she’ll only be reminded of her lustful dream. She was already struggling with repressing the memory at the sight of him now.
“When’s the service?” She scratched the side of her neck.
“Tonight, just outside of town. I can write down the address for you.” Lemuel offered.
“Oh no, I can just look up the location.” Virginia said, taking her phone out of her coat pocket.
Lemuel sighed sheepishly. “It wouldn’t be on any GPS, I can guarantee that.”
“Oh, really?” Virginia’s brow furrowed. “This place exists, right?”
Lemuel laughed. “It’s a small dwelling, but it is real, I can assure you, Miss Godwin. It’s just remote.”
“Okay.” Virginia wondered what wasn’t remote on this mountain.
“How’s about I drive you there myself? I can pick you up this evening.” He offered.
Virginia wasn’t one to turn down a polite offer, and she wasn’t in the position to further distance herself from the people of this town by denying their preacher’s kindness. She would accept his offer and go home to her cross that hung above her bed and pray for strength.
Lemuel kept his promise, his truck driving up the gravel driveway. Virginia had spent the rest of the day cleaning things out, rearranging furniture and scrubbing down every inch of the kitchen and bathroom. By the time the preacher arrived, she had just plopped herself down on the velvet couch, which had been vacuumed, and was resting. She didn’t even have time to change into nicer clothes. In fact, after all the grinding, Virginia didn’t feel like going to service anymore.
“Hello, Mr. Childs.” She greeted him at the door. “Please give me a few seconds, I’m not yet dressed.”
Lemuel could see that, as she was in dirty jeans, an oversized t-shirt, and without shoes. “You didn’t forget, did you, Miss Godwin?”
“Oh, no! I lost track of the time. Please, come in. I won’t be two minutes.” Virginia opened the door to Lemuel and stepped aside, letting him enter.
He looked around, admiring how clean the space was. The floors were cleared of the dust and scattered mail, the walls were nicely decorated with scenic paintings of the mountainside, and of course, the familiar ivy basket sat atop the fridge in the small, but well-organized kitchen.
“Make yourself comfortable. I’ll just be in my room.” Virginia said before rushing down the hall, closing the bedroom door behind her.
Lemuel didn’t sit down. He was too curious about Virginia’s new home. And while it was small, smaller than his own house, it was comfortable. It smelled nice, seeing that she had purchased a vase of flowers and set them on the kitchen table. Lilies, fragrant and white.
There was little to nothing in the kitchen, save for some apples, a loaf of white bread, a jar of peanut butter, and some canned corn. This couldn’t be all she had to eat, could it? Lemuel figured she had stocked up when she got here. Perhaps she didn’t have time with all the tidying up she had to do.
Virginia emerged quietly from her room, her feet light and silent on the carpeted floor. She spotted Lemuel in her kitchen, looking around but not touching anything. She liked watching him, admiring his side profile. He was a simple preacher yet there was something regal about the way he stood.
“I’m ready when you are, pastor.” Virginia spoke, breaking Lemuel’s concentration.
He wouldn’t say it, but he was pleased with how she freshened up. She wore a long deep blue skirt paired with a baby-blue blouse that covered her modestly. Her strawberry blonde hair was pulled back into a braid that hung down over her left shoulder, with some loose strands falling around her face, framing her cheeks.
She was young and beautiful, Lemuel couldn’t deny that. He had put to bed his feelings of attraction after his wife passed years and years ago. His eye wasn’t known to wander, focusing his heart on the Holy Ghost. But Virginia, this mysterious woman from outside the mountain, standing before him in blue the Virgin Mary, bashful in his presence, gave him that familiar sensation he was once familiar with.
Lemuel smiled and escorted her out to his truck, opening the door for her like a gentleman. On the drive, Virginia remained silent, looking out the window while Lemuel drove. He wanted to compliment her, tell her she looked nice and that he was happy she was accompanying him to service. After the loss of multiple members within the past year, including some close to home, it felt nice to bring someone new and willing into the church.
Then, he remembered her bare kitchen. “I’d like to have you over for dinner after service, if that’s alright with you.”
Virginia was happy her face was turned away from Lemuel, for her cheeks were flushed. Dinner? She reasoned that it was merely a polite gesture. Lemuel had only been kind to her since he rescued her from the side of the road. But dinner, presumably alone with him, was so intimate.
“It ain’t forward at all, pastor.” She said, her hands fiddling with the tips of her braid. She then ceased the child-like tic and placed them flat in her lap. What was she, a shy school girl? “Thank you for inviting me. For everything you’ve done, really.”
“Everything I’ve done?” Lemuel glanced over at her. “Now, I didn’t do what any other man wouldn’t have done, Miss Godwin.”
“You’re the only one in the community that’s been so open and so welcoming.” Virginia said. It was true, most other members she had interacted with while running her errands were rather distant, especially when they knew of her relation to the late Old Joshua.
“Well, I know what it’s like to feel alone and in need of a kind soul.” Lemuel said. “Our church has suffered hardship. We understand what it’s like to be thought of as strange and unusual by others. And I’ll admit that history has made us hesitant to accept outsiders. But make no mistake, we’re just as devoted and loving as any other congregation.” Lemuel said, turning the truck onto a narrow dirt road that led deep into the woods.
Ahead was what looked like a shed with a neon cross above the sliding doors. Next to it was a sign that glowed “Holy Ghost Church.” Lemuel was right, it was a very remote and small dwelling. The lights were already on inside and Virginia could see some men arranging chairs.
“This is it.” Lemuel shut the engine off, turning to Virginia. “I’ll introduce yah to the boys.”
Virginia wondered if ‘the boys’ meant the gruff, burly men that came out to meet them. She recognized one of them, Hope Slaughter’s husband Zeke who said a polite “hello again” to her. The others were Hank, Aaron, and Otis, all fellow parishioners who were obviously fond of Lemuel. Zeke, however, seemed rather demure in the pastor’s presence, exhibiting the same hesitation to engage the same way Lemuel shied away from Hope Slaughter at the gas station.
“This here’s Miss Virginia Godwin, Joshua’s niece. She’s moved into his place on Pinewood.” Lemuel told them.
“Nice to meet y’all.” She smiled to each of them. “Your pastor was kind enough to invite me to your service. I hope that’s okay.”
“We’re always open to newcomers.” The oldest man, Hank, told her, offering his hand to her. She took it and he squeezed it between his calloused palms. “You’re very welcome, Miss Godwin.”
“We was sorry t’hear ‘bout yer uncle.” Otis said. “Was no believer, but still…”
“Thank you.” Virginia was tired of all the condolences, even if she had to accept them.
“Well, let’s get to fixin up. Can’t have this church half-set when the others get here.” Lemuel said, gently slapping Hank’s shoulder before leading them inside.
Virginia’s eyes were instantly drawn to the crates at the other side of the church. There were red lights illuminating the crates, which had mulch inside them. Getting a closer look, Virginia then saw that these crates contained snakes!
“Woah.” She stepped back away from the sight of them.
The other men were casual, gathering around them to observe the animal. Lemuel looked over his shoulder, seeing the look of shock on Virginia’s face. “Don’t worry, they ain’t gettin out.” He assured her. “Not until we handle them.”
“Handle them?” Virginia asked, stepping closer to Lemuel’s side as they approached the crates. The snakes were being fed live quails, their tails rattling before they struck their prey with a hiss. Virginia flinched at the sudden bite, sad to watch an animal kill another. “These are part of the service?”
Lemuel didn’t expect Virginia to immediately accept their form of worship. It was only natural for newcomers to feel fear and confusion at the sight of a dangerous animal. He and the other parishioners had handled the snakes for so long now, it was second-nature to be around them.
“We show our devotion to the Holy Ghost through our unyielding faith. Faith that even in the presence of serpents, we are protected in his love and strength.” Lemuel explained while they watched Aaron, a man no older than thirty, lead another quail into one of the other crates. “We respect them, but we do not cower to them.”
Virginia hoped that whatever this service entailed, it wouldn’t involve her having to go near one of those things. “Snakes terrify me.” She confessed, looking away from the animals. “Forgive me, pastor, I-”
“We do NOT cower before them, Miss Godwin.” Lemuel moved in close, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder while he leaned in, lowering his voice. “Look upon these serpents and give not into fear. But feel the embrace of the Lord’s protection, for his love is greater than any evil.”
Virginia felt pulled to him as he comforted her, his lips close enough to her cheek that she could feel his breath wash over her warm skin. She wanted to curl into his side and listen to him while he preached softly, assuring her of the Lord’s will.
Lemuel walked her over to the crates, allowing her to hold onto his arm as they went. It was natural she didn’t want to go near them. But if she wanted to understand the people of this community, she had to see how they expressed their faith. And in Lemuel’s care, she would be safe. Or so he believed.
Virginia looked over the crates and watched as the snakes consumed their prey, squeezing the quails before unhinging their jaws and devouring them bit by bit. It was violent yet peaceful, for the snakes took their precious time as they ate. They didn’t seem bothered by the presence of the others who watched over them, too distracted by their meal.
“You will not suffer, Virginia.” Lemuel whispered, the first time he ever referred to her by her first name. “If you accept Christ as your personal savior and allow him to guide you on your path, you will be made clean again in his image.”
“Clean again?” Virginia breathed, eyes fixed on the coiling creature beneath them. What did Lemuel mean? Was Virginia being a Methodist really so sinful in his eyes?
Lemuel had made an incorrect assumption about Virginia. He assumed, given she was so beautiful and young, that she had not been a virgin. Most unmarried women these days were open to sexual experiences, whether they believed in the consequences or not.
“I didn’t mean to imply-” Lemuel stepped away from Virginia, feeling foolish. “My apologies, it isn’t my place to make such presumptions.”
“It is not.” Virginia frowned at the pastor. “Not that it’s any of your business, but I am not unclean.” She lowered her voice so the other men wouldn’t hear. She got closer to the pastor, who now looked incredibly guilty. “I was raised a Christian, pastor. My methods of worship might not live up to your standards but my devotion to Christ is no lesser than yours.”
An unsoiled woman? Lemuel thought as he looked at Virginia. Her face was red, from anger or embarrassment he didn’t know. But he had overstepped the line, not just as a pastor, but as a new friend.
“Forgive me, Miss Godwin.” Lemuel tilted his head forward, an apologetic bow.
Virginia chose to sit close to the stage during the service, though she immediately regretted it when Lemuel called on her, asking the other parishioners to welcome her. The others said their hellos and warm welcomes, offering her kind smiles and words of encouragement. Virginia spotted Sister Slaughter a few rows back, sitting next to her husband Zeke, whose head was down. That couple always seemed to appear on edge, especially in the presence of Lemuel. What had happened between the couple and their pastor?
During the evening, Virginia would soon learn of Lemuel’s style of preaching. He was loud and passionate, just like any pastor she had seen before. He jumped up and down, riling up the congregation with his sermon, lifting his arms up to the ceiling as he shouted out “Amen!” The others responded to him well, raising up their arms, moaning and crying as their pastor continued, evoking the Holy Spirit.
Virginia couldn’t deny she felt elevated, as if she could rise off the ground and ascend to Lemuel’s preaching. His energy was contagious, his voice genuine and proud, and his words moving. She couldn’t help but shout “Amen” back at him, her eyes closed and mouth agape.
Then, Lemuel bent down over the crate to the side of the stage and opened it up, reaching in and picking up the snake gently. He held it up in the air as he continued to preach, his body shaking with excitement while the congregation collectively raised up their hands and praised the Holy Ghost.
Virginia felt as if time slowed while she watched Lemuel handle the snake. He looked right into the animal’s eyes without an ounce of fear in his body. She had never seen such an act of true faith before. He was so certain that God was protecting him from the dangers of the snake. And while Virginia was skeptical before, now she was starting to believe that maybe… Maybe Lemuel was right.

I need a girl, who is lando norris' ex, getting involved with João after the Lando+Magui rumors.Where at first they did it to affect their exes, but then it becomes true!
Out of all the things I wanted to do fresh off a break up going to a party is near the bottom of the list but my friends insisted. They dragged me out of bed and got me in a cute outfit before dragging me out my apartment and to a taxi which was already outside. The party was in a big house and had lots of people who looked like they thought very highly of themselves. It really didn't feel like the type of place I wanted to be but my friends must've dragged me here for a reason and I trust them. Within minutes of arriving I had a drink in my hand and I was being led over to this group of guys who one of my friends seemed to know as they all greeted her warmly. She introduced the rest of us to them all until she got to the last guy which is when she pulled me forward and introduced us specifically.
"Joao this is y/n, y/n this is Joao both your exes are assholes now you can talk about it" she said nudging me in his direction
"Hey I'm sorry about her she's a bit forward sometimes" I apologised
"It's ok what she said about my ex is certainly true so I can't be mad" he said
"You don't have to tell me but if you want to feel free to rant about what your ex did from experience it definitely makes you feel better" he said
"He did so many things but we broke up less than two weeks ago and he's already been seen with a new girl and now I'm sure he was cheating on me with her as it's just too soon to have met someone and moved on" I ranted
"That's awful my ex cheated too three times to be exact now I wonder why I went back to her every time" he said
"Right I feel like such an idiot he'd do things he knew I didn't like and then he'd apologise and I'd just forgive him I must've been wearing rose tinted glasses not to see all the red flags" I said
"You're ex sounds just like mine" he laughed
"They'd get along well then" I joked
We talked more about all the things our exes had done to us including the lying, the cheating and the endless manipulation. It felt good to have someone to rant with about how awful it feels to be in a relationship like that. Joao talked about how his ex was trying her best to be spiteful and be seen with someone who's also well known as apparently he plays football. I told him about how my ex probably wasn't being spiteful on purpose but that doesn't make it hurt any less to see him with another girl who's definitely prettier than I am so soon after our breakup.
"If you don't mind me asking who is your ex your friend mentioned him before and said he made far too much money doing not a lot" he said
"That sounds like something she'd say but no I don't mind saying I was with Lando Norris" I said
"Wait Lando Norris" he said sounding concerned
"Yeah why?" I asked a little worried now
"He's the guy my ex is trying to be seen with all the time" he said
"Wait Magui is your ex?" I asked
"Yeah and I hate to be the person to tell you this but she's been hanging out with Lando for months I can't say if they've been more than friends but they've known each other a long time" he said
"Well that's good to know who knew we'd have so much in common" I said trying to make light of the situation
Joao was so sweet he apologised that his ex had ruined my relationship even though it's not his fault at all. We both talked about how much all the rumours and pictures of Lando and Magui have hurt us as no one else in our lives understands exactly what we're going through so to talk to someone who knows exactly how you feel somehow makes you feel better.
Eventually our conversation drifted from our exes and we just got to know each other. Joao talked about football and how he's moved all over the place the last few years and I talked about how I've been trying to keep up with school while travelling the world following Lando at his request before settling in London. Despite being from different backgrounds we really did have a lot in common we shared a lot of similar interests and have a lot of similar life experiences. After we'd been talking for a while I understood why my friends insisted I come out tonight they knew Joao would be here and that we'd get along well. To start with I resented them for dragging me out my pity party but now I really appreciate it as I think I've got a new friend for life.
I spent the entire night with Joao talking, laughing and drinking. it was the most fun I've had in a long time and that includes when I was with Lando. He really made me forget about everything which was exactly what I needed even if I didn't want to hear it before I got here. At the end of the night Joao offered to drop me home he hadn't been drinking alcohol as he had a game in a couple of days so I accepted and together we walked to his car. He drove me right to the door of my apartment building and got out to open my door for me but before he let me leave he asked for my phone number so we can stay in contact and I didn't hesitate to give it to him as I had fun tonight and I'd like to do that again.
~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up quite late this morning as I didn't get to sleep until just after 3am but when I did my phone was flooded with texts and notifications from pretty much every social media I have. As it turns out someone posted a picture from last night and in the background you can see me and Joao talking to each other clear as day. Of course the picture is now everywhere as football and f1 gossip accounts are talking about it and making rumours out of nothing. Everyone wants to know what Lando and Magui will think and if we were just trying to get back at them which wasn't the aim but I can't lie I would quite like if it were to bother Lando that I'm with a new guy.
Joao had also text me making sure I was ok and saying if I wanted him to say something he would do which just proves that he's a much nicer guy than Lando as he'd never do anything like that. After I told him I didn't care he told me to tell him if it all gets too much and he'll put a stop to it but nothing will compare to the hate I got when people realised I'd taken their precious Lando Norris off the market. After last night I feel so comfortable with Joao that I decided to admit that it actually felt good to get some revenge on Lando and give him a taste of his own medicine. I was a little worried he would think I'm insane but he actually agreed with me after what we've both put up with making our exes look stupid feels good. He then asked me if I'd like to do that again like go somewhere and if we get seen together then so be it and I agreed straight away.
~~~~~~~~~~
Last week Joao and I went out for coffee just to talk seeing as we got along so well and we just happened to be seen by fans and paparazzi which only fuelled the rumours that existed before. Earlier this week we went out to dinner together which I really enjoyed this time it wasn't our aim to be seen together we just wanted to get dinner together but someone still took a picture of us. I've looked at this picture everyday since because it's different to the other ones the smile on my face while Joao is talking is so genuine like I'm truly happy. I haven't been truly happy in ages but Joao makes me happy and thats had my head spinning with so many thoughts.
All of this hasn't been helped by the fact that I've seen Joao every day this week after we went out for dinner Joao invited me over to his place to watch a movie together after that we've swapped who's place we spend the evening at. We've cooked together, watched movies, had game nights it's been the best week I've loved it so much. Spending so much time together without anyone else around has made me realise that I actually really like Joao. Whenever he texts me that he's on his way to mine or greets me at the door of his place I get this strange feeling in my stomach I suppose it's like butterflies but it's just the excitement of getting to see him. I've slowly started to realise that maybe I like Joao as more than a friend I've never looked forward to seeing a friend as much as I look forward to seeing Joao every evening and the way my heart rate increases when he gets anywhere near me is just like it was when I first met Lando. That should've been the first give away but I guess I didn't think I was ready to move on so I didn't let myself feel those feelings for Joao but there is never a right time to move on so why hold back.
Having those feelings again is a little scary especially as I've just come out of a relationship that I didn't realise was so toxic and bad for me until now. There is also the fear that Joao may not feel the same it's clear that Magui has really messed him up which I totally understand but what if he's not ready to get into a new relationship or feel those feelings for someone else. That part of it does worry me as I don't want to make a move unless I know he feels the same as having him in my life even as just a friend has helped me so much. I don't want to lose the bond we've formed over the last few weeks just because I think I have feelings for him that would be stupid but I really do think I see Joao as more than a friend and part of me wants to risk it all to see if he feels the same.
Tonight he invited me over to his place to just relax as he has a match tomorrow but he still wanted to see me as he won't be back until late after his match so we won't see each other tomorrow. He told me to bring a board game with me as I have a collection of them and he's determined to try them all as most of them he's never heard of. So far he's beaten me at every game we've played so I tried to find a game I'm good at and can maybe win but I'll be honest he's just too good at everything so once he knows the rules he's going to crush me. I didn't really mind though as he never goes overboard when he wins like Lando would and I know he wouldn't get mad if he did lose.
When I arrived at Joao's place he was waiting for me at the door and he took the board game boxes from me. Once he put them down he gave me a hug which is always so comforting just being in his arms makes me feel safe. We sat and talked about our days for a while before Joao suggested we make some food so we went to see what he had to make which wasn't a lot as he hadn't gone grocery shopping in a while. In the end we decided that pasta was easy enough and he had some vegetables to make a salad. I was in charge of the pasta while Joao made the salad which he cut everything for and then he needed the dressing which was in a cupboard next to me. While he reached for it he put his hand on the bottom of my back so I didn't step back into him which was meant as a harmless gesture but it sent a shiver down my spine and had me blushing like crazy. It took me the rest of the time we spent cooking for me to recover from that but luckily I don't think Joao noticed or if he did hopefully he didn't think it was because of him.
After dinner we played the board games I brought which Joao beat me at most of the time but I did beat him once which felt good although he might've been letting me win. Then we kind of just sat in silence but it wasn't uncomfortable at all there was no need for one of us to say something and break the silence we could sit like that for hours and there be no need for one of us to do something to shake off the awkwardness. As time went by we naturally drifted close to each other until our shoulders were touching and then Joao took me by surprise as his arm gently slid around my waist as he looked into my eyes probably checking to see if there was any signs that I wanted him to back off. A smile crept onto both our faces as the tension we didn't even know was there seemed to be released when we let ourselves go beyond the barriers of just friends.
"I know we haven't known each other for long but this just feels right having you by my side every night I've never been happier spending every night cooking dinner and watching movies I don't feel the need to be or go anywhere else" Joao admitted
"I feel the exact same I was always looking for something more than just Lando's company but with you I don't need anything else I could spend hours just sitting here talking or simply doing nothing" I said
"I'm so glad that you feel the same I've been worried about ruining things but then I thought if things were really meant to be then you'd feel the same way and clearly I made the right decision" he said
"I was thinking the exact same thing to begin with it felt wrong to move on so quickly but then I realised I was just telling myself it was wrong but I'm glad you made the move as I think I'd always be too scared to do it" I said
"Let's not be scared anymore then will you be my girlfriend?" He asked
"I'd love that" I replied
"Although let's keep things private for now as much as all those rumours were fun now that this is more then making our exes jealous I don't want everyone to know" I said
"You read my mind the more private we can keep things the better I want you all it myself for now" Joao smiled

« Then.. Take me far away. »
Tumblr media
하나.
« Shadows come from the light in the darkness
In times that are even lonelier »
He was foully beautiful, has a disgustingly pretty smile and a diabolically angel face. He was as hot as Sukuna Ryomen, smart like Chrollo Lucifer, toned like Eren Yeager and flirty (and annoying) as Usui Takumi.
Every one of his steps scream power and dominance, people in town were obliged to recognize his god-like features.
Lee Heeseung was a piece of wonder. He was the personification of the Great Chinese Wall. Well, for others it means he was one of the seven wonders, his friends being the others six. For you he was illigible, like a void devoid of colors, feelings, words. Looking at him was like walking on the Great Chinese Wall. Infinite stairs, a never ending pathway, long exhausting adventure where you can get lost easily.
You never knew how to understand Lee Heeseung.
And people were here, yelling at you for not being liquified by his unbelievable visuals.
You were not attracted to Lee Heeseung.
And people were here once again, crying about you not having a good eyesight because who in the world would tell a big NO NO to THE Lee Heeseung ?
Despite his apparence, one thing you knew for sure was that he was the synonym of troubles. And that compensated his visuals. Lee Heeseung was a big red flag.
Vandalizing walls, driving fast past three in the morning, drinking heavily almost every night, skipping class (even though he always passed his exams with flying colors which confused you), smoking, sniffing drugs you never heard the name before, fucking some random women of every age everywhere.
Yeah, for you he was the worst of the worst, and you sure would not (in this peaceful life of yours) like to have an affair or everything as minuscule as it is with him.
You knew that Lee Heeseung had no interests in you either and it was perfectly perfect for you.
둘.
« The hand that was carefully held out
I couldn’t hold it, I’ve only hesitated but »
« Hey, did you heard that? Lee Heeseung has won the cars’ racing yesterday!
- Listen Young-Hee, you do know I don't give a freak about him right? This man screams problems.
- But don't deny he's attractive! Plus Seo-Hyun had a one night stand with him last week, are you realizing? THE Park Seo-Hyun?
- Please why do you look so interested about that? What is incredible about this?
- Oh please Y/N, we ALL know that Seo-Hyun has a purity ring given by her dad! She promised chastety and here she was, fucking with Lee Heeseung!
- And so? It's something between her, her father and Heeseung, what do I have to do about that?
- YOU COULD BE NEXT IN LINE! »
The strawberry milk you were drinking went out of your mouth to someone's shirt. Eyes widening in both shock and embarrassment, you quickly excuse yourself, not even looking up to cross eyes with them and lend them a tissue while repeatedly apologizing.
« I'm sorry I'm sorry, I didn't attend to do that! »
The bell ringing was a lucky sign for you to sprint directly to your class. As you both pant from the little course, you suddenly hear a loud chuckle from Young-Hee.
« Girl that's what I call being "purged"! she said in between laughs.
- Shut up that was embarassing! And it's your fault! You did it on purpose right?!
- I will keep doing it to see those faces you make! She laughs loudly, people staring.
- Hee! » you yell, trying to grab her arm. But she was faster and quickly went to her seat.
Let's say you couldn't focus on the entire class. Your mind was busy spacing out and thinking about the conversation earlier. Of course you knew that Park Seo-Hyun was the famous virgin of the campus, because everyone knew that. And the fact she wore proudly her ring was her way of showing her engagement !
« You could be next in line! »
This sentence keeps repeating in your head like a malicious mentra and you can't help but to imagine Lee Heeseung devouring you with his eyes. As much as you hated to admit it, he was indeed handsome. But that was a facade to you. Because deep inside, you kept telling yourself that he was someone bad, manipulative and who had no interest in women's feelings. That's what you hate the most. Your dad always made sure to show his love to your mom, so it sure was a big shock when you learn that some men were beating and mistreating their girlfriends or wives. The perfect image of love just crumbled down and you couldn't help but to be on your guard ever since. Especially with people like Lee Heeseung. People categorized you as the « girl talking to only girls » because you always talk with girls only. Not that you despise men, you just don't feel like talking to them and you were perfectly fine with it. Even if some dare to approach you, you woulk kindly answer them and then dash as fast as possible, avoiding the interaction like plague.
Indeed, you did not hate men, you just never knew how to talk to them.
Beside your big brother of two years older your dad and to any men in your small family, talking to the opposite genre was a real challenge for you. Sweaty hands, swifty gazes, mumbling and rosy cheeks. You hated making a fool of yourself and indirectly, men were making you this way. You discovered later that you had heterosocial anxiety. « Good » you told yourself ironically while rolling your eyes, this means talking to men was making you nervous.
But like all stories, there was an exception, a boy in who you could talk to without stuttering and being insecure about your side profile, about the way you would smile, all the mimicks you had. He was your childhood neighbour, Kim Sunoo.
Maybe because he looked less scary and more welcoming, or the way he would smile and his eyes would form two little crescents. Maybe because he seemed more boyish ? Kim Sunoo was the only boy you could talk without being feared of being judged. For you, he will always be the little boy who shared strawberries his grandma prepared for after-school snack. He will always be your super adventures’ companion in your garden.
So it sure was painful when Kim Sunoo transferred from public school to private. Being children, you did not keep in touch and never saw each other ever since. But Sunoo gifted you with a braided bracelet. It was synonym of you guys’ friendship as he too, had one. His mother would show you pics of him, he would send her some after he finished his class, in secondary school. His peace sign beside his wink and little smile would bring a grin to your face too, somewhat relieved he was doing so well.
As you were thinking deeply of your childhood friend, a hand came crashing on your face.
« Young-Hee! I swear you're a dead woman!
- Listen, it's lunch and I'm hungry, stop thinking about Lee Heeseung and let's go to the cafet! she crosses her arms with a devilish smirk plastered on her face.
- I wasn't even thinking about him, cut the drama. »
The walk to the cafeteria was filled with laughters and a warm mood. Tray in hands, you were searching for a place to sit. It seems like today was filled with students as the only places you found were in the middle of two groups, hastily chatting. Not even two minutes after Young-Hee and you started eating, a breaking sound was heard on the other side of the cafet.
« LEE HEESEUNG YOU FUCKING SON OF A BITCH ! » was heard by a female voice.
There, was standing Park Seo-Hyun, infront of a sitting Lee Heeseung. It looked like she threw her glass at him within her tray of food. You see how unbothered he looked, even with food and water all over his clothes. Seo-Hyun scoffed at his lack of reaction and quickly walk out of the cafet, her two best friends following her. Shrugging, you turn back and start eating like nothing happened.
« Oh my god, what do you think did just happen?
- Well, this is what happens when you go inside Lee Heeseung’s circle. That’s why I don’t want anything with him, you said, unimpressed while digging in your tomatoes (I’m sorry for those who don’t like them 😭)
- But don’t you want to know? I loooove gossips hehe…
- If you want to investigate it’s without me you already know that, you say, unbothered.
- But please, she said, a tiny pout on her lips and giving her best doe eyes.
- I really hate you, you know? You sighed while shaking your head.
- Yey! I love you bestie! » She smiles happily then proceeds to swallow everything she had in her mouth.
For you, it was none other than some childish things, without harm. At least, that’s what you expected.
셋.
« My heart already trembles, I keep
getting scared
On this night when you secretly held out
your hand »
After disposing your tray in the conveyor belt, Young-Hee excitedly locked your cubital fossa together and has speed towards the almost empty hallways.
« Where are we going? You tell just loud enough for her to listen.
- In front of their class, Heeseung and Seo-Hyun are classmates, didn’t you know? She said making sure to be discreet and to look everywhere.
- I’m not such a big gossip girl like you Hee, you know that, you watched her getting agitated.
- It’s not some gossip, it’s general knowledge Y/N!
- As if, you couldn’t help but to roll your eyes.
- Let’s hide here! » Young-Hee said as she sweeps you both behind a big pillar glued to the classroom’s wall.
Peeking through the marble, you quietly observe your surroundings. Seo-Hyun was in the classroom with her friends, talking angrily about something you couldn’t hear.
« This situation kinda stress me Hee, you said playing with your bracelet. The tropes were so lose they could ripped anytime. It was a habit of you to fidget with it when you were nervous.
- Shh, I’m trying to decipher what they’re saying », she shushed you, looking attentively at the girls.
You couldn’t help but to roll your eyes a second time. Young-Hee was really persistent when she wanted to be but you couldn’t blame her, she lifted up your moral numerous times with this personality of hers.
« I fucking hate his guts! He promised me so many things but at the end what?! I gave my fucking virginity to an asshole like him?! Screams Seo-Hyun.
- He doesn’t deserve you Seo, trust us, said one of her friends.
- But Chae I gave him my v card, my dad’s gonna kill me if he learn that.
- You can just wear the ring again, he wouldn’t know.
- The whole school knows it! No way he will not be aware!
- Seo, calm down first. Instructed Chae-Won.
- I can’t-
- Y/N! Hide quick! » whispered-yelled Young-Hee.
Panicked, you rapidly hide behind the pillar, pressing your body as far as you could.
« What’s happening? » You whisper to your friend, completely lost.
Hee only gave you her big eyes as a response and gestured you that someone was coming. You didn’t think two times about it and just nodded.
« What are you gonna do Hee? She’s super mad at you and look at you, you’re covered in tomatoes’ sauce. You both hear a man voice talking.
- Huh? She took my hoodie when we did it last week, I just want to take it back, and I need to change clothes too. You could recognize Heeseung’s voice at the same time steps were coming your way.
- You’re unbelievable man! Exclaimed the other guy with him, chuckling in disbelief.
- I know, Heeseung only replied. You could practically hear and imagine his smirk as they open the door.
- What do you want bastard?! Screams Seo-Hyun.
- Wow, I didn’t came to be assaulted. I just want to take my hoodie back, I left it at yours last week.
- Already threw it in the trash can. She spat bitterly.
- Ouch, » murmured Young-Hee.
You looked at Young-Hee but didn’t expect her to make a silly face so you accidentally snort without realizing you both could be in big troubles if they happen to know you were here.
« Hey, did you heard that? Said the friend accompanying Heeseung.
- Hear what Jake? Questioned Heeseung.
- I heard some muffles over there, let me check. »
Panic immediately took possession of your body as you hurriedly run and turn in the near corridor.
« Hey! Wait! » You hear from the other side as you run endlessly trying to turn in the maximum corridors possible to left him.
Finally arriving at the back of your school, you both pant loudly, trying to catch your breath.
« That was freaking close! For once Mr Hwang’s running class weren’t useless! Pant Young-Hee between each inspirations taking.
- Listen carefully Hee, you stand fully up as your hands were resting on your knees to catch your breath, last time. I swear, last time forever.
- But they didn’t catch us, I’m sure he didn’t even see our faces! » She exclaimed feigning innocence.
You frown. If Jake was running behind you, he must have seen two figures at least. Plus, girls. You subconsciously touch your wrist to feel your bracelet when nothing brush your fingertips. Imagining the worst, you look down only to see it gone.
« Shit shit shit, don't tell me it fell off while we were running? You mumbled.
- What happened? asks Young-Hee, concerned.
- My bracelet fell off when we ran Hee, I need to search for it, it's a gift!
- Wow, it's okay, let's go back and see if it's there. »
You then walk the opposite way, following exactly each corridor you took. You were stressing, losing the only memory of your friend was the last thing you wanted to face right now. And as you kept approaching the classroom, your fear only increased.
« It's nowhere to be found Y/N... said your companion, empathic.
- Maybe it just fell right next to the pillar? I will take a look, you finally sighed, feeling hopeless.
- Okay, I'll search in this area over there, » she pointed the opposite direction with her finger.
As you were searching, you failed to notice a stare on you, silently watching every move you made.
You finally concluded after fifteen minutes that it was lost and you couldn't do anything about it. To feel guilty and sad were an understatement to what you were feeling right now. This bracelet was your anti-stress and now it was gone.
넷.
« Make me kiss you
 Ma-make me kiss you »
The end of the day came up rather quickly and you were now packing your things in your backpack. Young-Hee bided you goodbye earlier because she has tennis sessions so today you had to walk back home alone. It was actually great for you as you long for loneliness and peace sometimes. It eases your mind, not that being with Young-Hee create headaches but she was a little bit too loud sometimes.
As you exit the hallway of your university, someone secretly hold their phone up and snap a picture of you walking away. Shuffling it back in their pocket, they act like nothing happened and watch your back disappears.
« So you’re like that huh?! Taking pic of someone without their consent?! » Screams a girl.
You abruptly turn around to see the scrap. There you see again Seo-Hyun and Heeseung. Looks like she was yelling at him for something he did.
« Does it concern you? Just because we fucked doesn’t mean we’re dating idiot, » he spoke calmly, his chin lightly raised alongside a brow.
Reminding you of your « mission » with Young-Hee, you can’t help but to approach the scene quietly, making sure you’re discreet. As you hide behind a spot you continue to listen.
« Then you shouldn’t have promised me so many things that night! Was it nothing to you?! She angrily tells.
- And what are these things? Because I don’t remember any actually, he answers casually. He was used to it.
- You told me you will make me feel special, that I’m not like the others and that I’ll be the only one! At this point she was just stomping her foot on the ground brutally.
- Oh. Yeah it was in the heat of the moment. Never actually think this way. Plus I was drunk so I didn’t really paid attention to what I was saying, » he said once again as if it really didn’t bother him to see her on the verge of beating him up.
*clap*
Your eyes widened at the loud clap your heard and you were sure it came from her hand entering in collision with his cheek. « Must have hurt » you told yourself in your head.
« Fucking asshole, I’m gonna denounce you for what you’ve done and also for taking a pic of Y/N in secret! » she lastly said before storming away.
You slowly realized what she said and confusion took all over your mind.
« Wait, what? He took a secret pic of me? » You wondered in your mind.
- Stop hiding. I know you’re here, you hear a masculine voice calling, broking your self-thought bubble.
- Oh shit, you mumbled, it was over now, you were discovered, umh, hi haha, I was just about to go haha, you said, the uneasy feeling slowly climbing in your whole body as you step out of your hiding spot, walking awkwardly like a robot with a grimace.
- Really? You do know it’s not really polite to listen to others in secret yeah? »
Lee Heeseung grabs onto your shoulder, the scene particularly comic as he turns your around.
As you face him, your eyes immediately locked together and you can’t help but to feel intimidated by his gaze. It was teasing, almost mocking and shockingly traversing your entire core. You feel naked under him and once again you remind yourself why you hated talking to men this much. Instead of his uniform’s shirt he was wearing a plain oversized t-shirt of color white, he probably changed clothes after receiving the food on himself at the cafet. His black hair were swaying by the wind, softly falling on his mischievous eyes. God he was perfect.
« So? Kitten got your tongue angel? He tilted his head, waiting for an answer.
- Don’t… call me that, it sounds naughty coming from your mouth, you said looking finally down, not supporting his gaze.
- Oh really? That’s what y’all say, he chuckled slowly moving forward, but y’all love it in bed.
- And you talk about me listening to conversations in secret but you are not so good yourself, taking pic like a creep of someone without their consent, » you spat, your tone harsher than you intended too and your eyes piercing his when you lift your head. As much as you wanted to deny it, your cheeks were already red and your heartbeat as quick as the speed of light.
In response, he smirks, clearly pleased by what he’s seeing and hearing in front of him. You tried not to take in details his black hair perfectly styled as well as his perfect face and soft creamy skin. You then notice how bad Seo-Hyun had slapped him as a red mark was clearly visible on his left cheek.
« I don’t really like brats but with you I think I can make some efforts, he shrugged and came even more close, I don’t want to be harsh with you baby it would break my heart, he whispered, his hand coming up to brush against your chin.
- Who said you could touch me? Delete this pic as soon as possible and leave me alone, you’re carrying troubles, you sweep his hand away and step back.
- And what if I don’t? What are you gonna do? His cocky grin never leaving his face.
- I… I will report it to the police! You stumble over your words, quickly regretting the way you look so weak in front of him.
- Will you? When you know that my dad is a powerful CEO? In fact, the most powerful of the country? » He retorts, a feeling of satisfaction filling him up when your eyes widen up.
You sigh then frown at him and quickly dash away, not wanting to talk further. It was infuriating you that he was always winning. You hated him so much.
« We can find a way if you’re willing to be mine!
- Never!! » you shout loud enough for him to hear you, only to hear a laugh as a response.
- How would you react if I tell you that you’re the reason I bring troubles Y/N? » Heeseung finally sighed watching your silhouette ventures between the buildings.
You let out a scream after making sure nobody was around you.
« This freaking Lee Heeseung!! You and your bad mouth will go down in hell I swear! You angrily said as you stomp your feet.
- Pff. »
You turn around as soon as you heard something. Scanning your surroundings you search the source of the noise.
« Is someone there? You ask, unsure and on your defensive.
- Not at all, act like I’m not here, answered a voice.
- Are they dumb or dumb? I just yelled my frustration and you’re telling me to continue embarrassing myself? You thought, low key judging them. Where are you? Show yourself. » (Frozen enwnkzjwnz)
After a few minutes, a boy finally step out and came infront of you. He was wearing a white t-shirt and by the look of the small pink stain on it you immediately remembered what happened this morning.
« Oh, you said taken aback.
- Like you said « Oh », he laughed, thank you for customizing my t-shirt, I didn’t know it was a tradition in your uni, he looked down at it, a small smile on his face.
- Huh… sorry… you didn’t had any clothes to change? You nervously ask.
- Oh no, I’m new here and I needed to get my dorm’s keys after school so nope.
- I’m sorry you had to walk like this the entire day. Uhm… » you said, hesitant.
In fact you were hesitating, one part of you wanted to go home, feeling the urge to burry yourself alive because a male was talking to you but yet another part was feeling too guilty to just go and you feel like you had to forgive for what you’ve done.
« Yes? He looked at you, a soft smile appearing on his face.
- Do you want to go to the cafe shop with me? We can go and drink some chocolate milk? I want to apologize properly.
- Uh, it will be coffee milk for me, he laughed, but yeah sure, » he smiles.
You couldn’t help the dumbfounded expression on your face as you heard his answer. « Mr is picky I see. » you thought to yourself. Well, you thought you said it in your head but his laugh caught you off guard, WAIT DID YOU JUST ASKED A BOY OUT ?
« I heard you, and I personally do not think that I’m picky, I just have my preferences, » he says proudly, mischievous eyes looking straight right through yours.
You just shake your head, already embarrassed about the fact he heard your thoughts.
As you both make your way to the cafe shop, you learn that his name is Sunghoon Park. He was currently an ice skater and was preparing for his national competition. As a big fan of Yuzuru Hanyu, you couldn’t help but to feel interested in his career’s story.
« So you learned ice skating when you were 10? That’s quite amazing. Do you have any friends? You ask without really knowing how you could talk to him this easily.
- Mh.. only one, her name is Eunseo, she is the only girl who dared to come to me when we were young, he shrugged looking unbothered.
- Oh, were you the only boy? You keep asking, trying to match his walking pace, your voice weakening as you saw the unbothered look on his face, were you boring? Did you forced him to go with you? And what if he didn’t wanted to?
- In my club yes, it was kinda lonely back then before I met Junhwan, he notices that you were having a hard time keeping up with him so he slowed down, quickly scanning your smaller figure with a glance.
- I see I see, you nod rapidly, your eyes that were on him now looking in front of you, throat suddenly dry as the conversation touched its end.
- And you? What’re you doing on a daily basis? He raised an eyebrow towards you.
- Me? Haha nothing as interesting as you, I’m a simple girl, you try to brush the subject away, surprised that he kept the conversation on going.
- Really? Aren’t you working at an animals center? He opens the door for you as you were now arrived.
- How… how do you know that? You enter, waving a hand to thank him.
- A friend of a friend, » he grins once more, passing before you towards the counter.
« What in the world..? » you thought again, gradually joining him as your mind overflowed with thoughts, finding him kinda creepy.
While you guys took commands, you quickly paid for both drinks before he could do anything, muttering a shy « it’s on me ». Unfortunately for you, you missed the way his eyes shone as his heart skipped a beat. You then found a table in a corner, near a window offering you the view of a busy crowd. The more you were thinking of the situation you were right now, the more you’re nervous. Endless fears and thoughts invading your head as you look around in an alarmed state, your knees automatically shaking under the table.
« You seem to have a lot of thoughts in your head. Every time you’re quiet, I’m quite sure you’re thinking of something, he softly puts his chin on his palm as his elbow is resting on the table, his attention entirely on you, making things even harder for you to support the awkward atmosphere you were feeling alone.
- Yes, I actually think a lot haha, not you? Your gaze darting away from his stare.
- Depends, he responds, eyes not blinking and continuing to stare right into your orbits.
- Number 38! You perked, reacting to your command’s number.
- Will be right back, » you stand up and walk rather awkwardly feeling his intense gaze on your back.
You went to grab your drink and thanked the woman. On your way back, you notice a frown adorning Sunghoon's soft features as he was staring at his phone. Not wanting to bother him, you sat down quietly, sipping on the sweetness awaited, immediately calming your stress. He quickly put his phone back into his pocket before looking at you, eyes softening upon seeing your content eyes. You were zoning out, so did not notice his eyes staring at you.
« It's unfair really, he managed to mumbled, a grin evident on his face as he finally looks away.
- What is unfair? You barely heard what he said but did anyways.
- It's unfair to look this cute actually, he whispers, still looking around the cafe shop.
- W-what did you say? I didn’t hear you, you purse your lips, blinking in confusion. To be honest you did heard him, you just wanted to be sure and not be delusional.
- Nothing, a simple note to myself, » he shrugs and then stand up when his order is being called.
You couldn't help but wonder to what he said earlier, what does he mean by "unfair"? Anyways, you checked the time on your phone to see that it was late (or that you wanted to escape from this situation?), and that you needed to revise for a test coming soon. Sunghoon was just arriving when you stand up. He gave you a confused look and you quickly told him the reason of your departure.
« Already leaving? We have just arrived? He asks, incredulous, standing still with his drink in hand. (Sunghoon be like : 🧍‍♂️)
- I know and I'm sorry for that! I'll see you around! You say, in a sort of a rush.
- Wait lemme at least walk you, he tries to slow you down, but you were faster and have already left the cafe shop. Aish... This girl... » he tilted his head, disappointed in himself or in you he didn't know, but he for sure wanted to spend a little bit more time with you.
After all, you caught his eyes and with it, his cold heart.

« Make me touch you
Ma-make me touch you »
The following week was packed.
You finally let out a sigh of relief, it was now the week-end, you will have the deserved time to breathe. You were now in your room, on your bed, laying on your chest. You had just finished your night routine and was on the verge of sleeping when you heard something hitting your window. Panicked, you quickly turn off your bedside lamp, telling who-the-hell they're that you're sleeping and above all, that you want to be alone. In fact, you were scared it was a stealer or a serial killer and hurriedly hide yourself under your blanket as if it will protect you from them. Even though you tried to sleep, your eyes tightly shut, the noise wouldn’t stop, it was quite the contrary. Taking your courage in both hands, you quietly stand up and gently push aside your curtains before looking for the culprit of your peacefulness. Being shocked was an understatement as you saw none other than Lee Heeseung standing behind your gates, getting ready to throw yet another rock on your window before you furiously open the latter.
« Lee Heeseung! What are you doing at this hour? I'm trying to sleep! You whisper-yelled, not wanting to wake up your parents.
- Come with me! He offers you a big smile, waving at you.
- Is he crazy or what? You murmured to yourself, not believing his words. What? Why? Are you going to give me some candies and then kidnap me? You say ironically, I don't know you! Go to your home! » You finally pronounce your last words before closing your window.
« I wouldn’t mind kidnapping you though, » he mumbles under his breath as he smiles, heart racing.
Not even two seconds after it was closed, you hear knocking sounds again. Taking a deep breath, you tried to calm yourself, you were not one to be very patient, plus the lack of sleep these days were really working you up. Lee Heeseung or not, you were strangers and he was invading your privacy at this point ! It has to cease before your parents found him out and call the police. As much as you didn’t liked him, it's not like you hated him too and you just wanted to avoid problems. God knows what could happen to you if this story disclose around, his fangirls would grab your hair, make a pretty haircut (note the sarcasm) and throw you in the nearest dump while his father would probably kick you out of the country with your parents. So you decided to slip on an oversized hoodie, stolen from your brother (working overseas), and to step down your stairs in the quietest way possible. You needed to be extra careful because your mother was a light sleeper so even the weenie mistake would wake her up and you would then be in big problems. Reaching the entrance, you open the door without a care about your looks, after all, it completely went out of your head.
« What's your problem? Why are you here? You hiss, now infront of the fuckboy of the campus.
- Woah ~ so sexy, he whistles at the sight of your disheveled hair, oversized hoodie, slippers and your annoying face.
- Just answer the damn question Lee, you switch your weight on one of your leg, the foot opposed stomping against the fresh grass of your garden. Your hands were on your hips as you were glaring at him.
- Just wanted to see you, that's all, he lifted his hands above his shoulders, acting as if he was surrending himself.
- And why so? I don't understand, we are not friends, not even acquaintances even more, we don't speak to each other at all. How did you even got my address?! And most importantly : What do you want from me? Your frown deepening, your arms cross on your chest.
- I'm racing tonight, I need to bring someone with me. I thought of-, he began but you quickly dismiss him.
- Rejected. Did you really think I was going to accept? In your dreams, you scoff, not believing him.
- Come on, it will be fun I promise you, » he extends his hand, as if waiting for you to grab it.
The truth is, you heard from some classmates that racing with Heeseung was amazing. He would have excellent driving skills and it would have been a shame to miss it. Closing the distance between you and him, you raise your hand, almost as if you were going to accept his proposition, only to clap his hand down. His eyes, that were hopeful of you possibly agreeing, lose their light, like a sad puppy not getting his treat.
« I will say it one last time Heeseung, you look straight into his eyes, rejected. » You gritted, emphasizing on your last word.
You then turn around, not letting him the time to reply back, and enter your home. Not even two minutes inside and you're glidding down the door, your hands pressed against your chest, a futile attempt to calm your messy heartbeat. This interaction with this man was in no point good for you and put you in one hell of a state you couldn't even imagine.
Why everything was suddenly happening to you? And most of all, why did it has to be LEE FREAKING HEESEUNG?
That night, you couldn't sleep.

« Make me want you
Ma-make me want you »
The next morning you felt especially groggy. You didn't had much sleep and it was also the first day of your period. « I hate this world » you mumbled to yourself, already feeling the cramps coming. As you peacefully went out of bed to ready yourself, a notification caught your attention.
« #Lee_Heeseungs_new_chick »
Seriously? Was he going to follow you everywhere you were going? Would you believe! Now he’s even invading your notifications… You feel like Lee Heeseung was stuck with you for whatever reason and it pissed you off. For wanting him away it looks like the opposite.
« Are you ready Y/N? Hurry or you will be late, informs your father, peeking through your door, ajar.
- Yes I'm coming right now, is mom already gone? You ask, standing up and taking your uniform hanging on your wardrobe.
- Yup, said she has to go early today, » you hear his faint voice as he was walking down the stairs, his voice resonating in the corridor.
It was unusual for you, your mom never had to go early to work. But you shrugged it off, everything happens for a reason. You quickly do your morning routine then finally went out of your house.
As you arrived at the university, you couldn't help but notice how stares were directed at you for a reason you ignore. Being self-counscious, you found a restroom and checked if you had anything on your face or your clothes, only to notice that everything was perfectly fine. What the hell was happening?
The only way to know was to ask Young-Hee as she always keep herself updated. And you didn't had to search for her for too long as you could pratically hear her yells from the other side of the hallway.
« Y/NNN! Oh my god why didn't you tell me? She grabs your hand and pulls you towards a quieter side of the hallway, where nobody could hear you both.
- About what? You ask, like a lost puppy.
- You and Lee Heeseung are dating !Congrats! She cheerfully says.
- Wait- what?! No way in this freaking world! I do not like him and you know it! You offer her your most disgusted-shocked face, making her laugh.
- But the whole campus is aware! She then take out her phone from her bag's pocket.
- And why am I not aware then? What's happening?
You noticed that everyone were looking at you with weird eyes, you panicked a little, looking repeatedly on both side of you.
- Look! » She shows you her screen.
You couldn't believe what you were seeing right now.
It was a picture of you and Heeseung last night. The picture showed the moment you just taped his hand down to refuse his proposition, but it gives the impression of you two holding hands. Who would take a picture of you and him this late at night? One of his fans? Or maybe he planned this all along? You were confused and soon a striking pain started to pounced in your head. Good, you were having a headache because of all the ruckus. Not to mention the pain of your cramps too, you knew how bad they were particularly during the first few days.
« Are you okay? Worriedly ask Young-Hee, seeing you squinting your eyes in pain.
- Having a headache and period cramps are the worst I swear, you mutter under your breath, taking a big inspiration only to wince when you feel the contractions.
- Today's really not your day ma girl, she shakes her head, going through her bag to find a potential pill that could helps you.
- Let's go in class, it's about to start, » you take her extended hand that was giving you the med and walk to class, steps galloping in fear of being late.
Mrs So was already in the classroom, spreading her books and belongings and not even after being seated, she began her lesson. You quickly ate the med while rummaging through your bag to pull out your belongings.
« Pssst Y/N, »
It was one of your classmate, in whom you never really spoke. The way her eyes glinted in curiosity was slowly freaking you out. You knew what she wanted to know.
« No, we aren't dating, don't misunderstand the pic, you respond drier than attended and not even sparring her a glance making it look even more rude.
- Okay okay sorry for wasting your time, you could hear the sarcastic tone with an eye roll, not that you really care. What a boring girl you are, why would he choose you instead of me? »
You silently sighed, it's not your fault if his flirty ass was in front of your house at 1 A.M. But maybe you shouldn't have approached him and just should've shut him down and go to sleep like nothing happened.
« Ladies at the right, stop talking, warns Mrs So.
- It's Y/N, she can't keep her mouth shut, she said, voice filled with sarcasm.
- Huh? Are you talking about you?
- Tch, what are you five?
- Yup five times smarter than you, you proudly smile, the whole class hyping you.
- YOU-
- Mrs Park, this is your last warning, stares Mrs So.
- I'll kill you Marilyn Monhoe, she lastly whisper.
- At least I'm hot, » you quietly say, hearing the snickers of some of your classmates.
Internally, you were screaming because how in hell someone spotted you with THE Lee Heeseung? This just made you exasperated and more determined to have less contact with him...
Days had passed and you were avoiding Lee Heeseung like plague. The latter did not understand your behavior as he was secretly longing for you.
Following you with his eyes each time you happened to walk by him. His friends, except one were looking at him with a grin, they knew oh how much Heeseung wanted to own you, well the reason was unknown to them, but the way he was devouring you with his eyes spoke enough for them to know you were his prey.
In fact, Lee Heeseung has been infatuated by you the day he saw you rejecting one guy. The latter was known for being a real playboy in disguise, playing the Prince Charming to get girls. We could say he and Heeseung were sworn enemies, competing over who could catch more girls. So when you turned the guy down, it only created a spark in Heeseung, the desire to win you invading his brain. If he could have you, he could brag about it to the loser who failed, gaining yet a tingle of pride. At first, winning you and throwing you like an old rag was all he could think of, yet what he didn't expected, was the fact you were *actually* attractive and interesting. He felt like you were an unpolished gem, a precious diamond that didn't showcase its spark yet. In his head he was the miner, you were the diamond, he had to polish you, to make you shine.

« K-kiss you, t-touch you, w-want you »
« Make me love you »
Soon enough, seeing and thinking that Lee Heeseung's attention on you was finally finished, you lowered your guards and peacefully lived your life, knowing the only person you needed in your social circle was Young-Hee.
*Ding*
The sound of your phone makes you freak out as you take it out of your bag. Speaking of the devil, Hee has just send you a message, claiming she was feeling sick and won't be able to come in class.
« Is this for real? The exact moment I think about her, she's sick, this girl I swear, » you sigh.
Young-Hee was the type of girl who got rarely sick, so it feels empty to eat alone in a classroom. You thought that it could bring you peace and to be honest, you didn't want to be looked at for eating alone. So here you were, eating alone in a classroom, just minding your business.
« Oh, did I just caught a fish eating alone? » a voice resonated in your ears, breaking the pleasant silence you were in.
Immediately perking your head, your gaze falls upon the ice skater. His tall frame was leaning against the door, his arms crossed with one hand holding a drink.
His eyes had looked you from toes to head, analyzing every details and to be fair, made you slightly uncomfortable. His grin and teasing eyes just made you feel self conscious and you looked away, a slight blush creepig up your face.
« I didn't expect you to be here... What brings you here? you ask softly, resuming on eating your lunch.
- I saw you eating alone, so I thought I could keep you compagny, are you okay with this? » he says, already making his way to take the chair in front of you, pulling it so the back could rest against your desk. He finally plopped down on the chair, facing you directly, propping his forearm on the top of his chair.
- Well... looks like you already eased yourself here, beside, who am I to tell you no? You suck in a sigh, his intense gaze was just urging you to hide in a hole and to never get out of it.
- We didn't get to finish our conversation last time, so why not catching it up now? he asks, looking at the window, the sun rays shining on his handsome face, did he thought he was in a drama? Even the breeze was a paid actor as it made your hair and his leisurely dancing.
- Hum... I'm kinda an awkward girl, you may go on your way...you mutter, dumbfounded as to why someone like him would want to have a conversation with a girl like you, trying to escape guys like death.
- It's okay l'm awkward too, » he chuckles to himself, his head lowering slightly as he does.
Gosh he was beautiful, what did he ate to be this handsome?
« Sung- », a voice called but immediately stopped.
Lee Heeseung was there, and the scene before his eyes was like a bad dream. His close friend, Park Sunghoon is having a face to face conversation with the girl he's trying so hard to catch the attention. Heeseung wondered why it looks easy for his friend to talk to you, he did not understand at the moment why you weren't hostile towards him. If one day Heeseung was being told he got jealous over one of his friend, he would have just laughed it off, shaking his head while mumbling some incoherent things on how it is impossible for him to feel that way.
« What is it hyung? » asks Sunghoon, clearly aware of his senior's intentions with you.
« Well... I didn't expect you two to be together, his eyes were locked on your figure, long time no see Y/ N, » he smiles at you, closing the distance between you three. You couldn't be in a more embarassing situation. Firstly, the tension could be felt from miles, secondly, you never asked to be talked to, and finally, how can it be so hard to be alone these days?
Feeling uneasy, both by their intimidating gazes and their presence, you shakily release a sigh.
« I don't know what I did to you guys... what do you want from me? » you ask, on one hand, not wanting to know their answer, and on the other one, craving to know what their full intentions were.
« Didn't I told ya already? I want you to race with me, » he says nonchalently, shrugging his shoulders.
« And I was clear about it, I don't wanna do it, » you sigh, not really knowing how to formulate your words so he could give it up.
« Racing with Heeseung could be dangerous, that's why I'm never riding with him, » says softly Sunghoon, his expression betraying his voice. But it ceased when his attention finally focused itself on you, the older man glaring at him.
« Don't act like you are not riding like him, » your brows creased, not impressed.
« I don't do cars races, I swear on my lovely dog, » he lifted his hands up, claiming his innocence.
« I don't wanna drive with either of you two, you sigh, closing your eyes, what did I do for you two to want me to ride with you? There's plently of girls in the campus! »
At this point they didn't know if you were really clueless or if you were doing this on purpose. It was as clear as water that Lee Heeseung and Park Sunghoon were hitting on you. We couldn't really blame you: never got confessed, never got a boyfriend, never had male friends after Sunoo so yes, what is love anyways?
Heeseung thought for a while, trying to find a way to make you agree. When the idea comes to him, he smiles brightly and stand in front of you, looking down at you with a smirk.
« How about I buy you those pretty pencils from this one shop near the campus? I noticed that you have a lot of them, » he smiles, proud.
Touché, you felt blocked, because as much as you want to deny it, you always had a things for books and stationery stores. You took care of the esthetic of your belongings and it didn't go unoticed by Lee. Gritting your teeth, your head became fuzzy as well as your thoughts, the tentation was high but a side of you keep reminding you that he was Lee Heeseung, the campus' playboy. You failed to catch the smile of Sunghoon sightly faltering. Freak, Heeseung got a step ahead, and you, who were usually direct to reject him, was now hesitating.
The first time Park Sunghoon came visiting the new city he was gonna moved in, he didn't thought much of it. His introvert character made it hard for him to open up to people. Only on his friends he could lean on and they were everything he needed. Sunghoon didn't planned on falling in love. Indeed he was known for being quite the heartless and cold guy, ignoring confessions and not showing a bit of interest in the opposite gender. His sister and mom were enough for him, he didn't need other women in his life than his family. But fate worked against him when he saw a young girl from his age, crouching near a dog while patting it. His eyes traveled up to see the longstanding crusty letters that formed the two words « Animal center » written on an old building, dilapidated enough to imagine it was there for many years. The girl was standing just behind the opened gate, talking sweetly with the dog in front of her. She looked like she was the happiest on Earth, in her own bubble as her soft chuckles resonated in the silence of the street. Sunghoon was too stunned to speak a word, clearly dazed by the scenery painted in front of his eyes. The golden hour made it look even more beautiful than it was already, melting his icy heart the more he was watching you.
« HUM... Can I help you? » Sunghoon heard a voice calling out to him, stopping him from his dazy state and regaining consciousness. The sight of you was nowhere to be seen as an old granny, smiling softly at him, stood a few meters away from him, eventually blocking him from seeing you.
« Oh, hum, n-no... I was just passing by... » he answered, caught off guard and blushing from embarassment. He quickly bowed before hasting his steps out of sight. At this moment, he believed that he could never see you again.
So the day you splashed your milk onto his shirt, his anger immediately turned into surprise when he saw your face, the image of you patting the dog inked in his brain. He hadn't got the time to speak a word that you were already dashing out of his sight, handing him a tissue while looking down and walking past him.
« How long does a racing lasts? » You ask, reclaiming again Sunghoon's attention on you.
Watching as Heeseung heaved a sigh alongside a sly grin, his face showing nothing else but satisfaction and victory.
« It's tonight, midnight, I will pick you up at 11:30 PM » Heeseung smirks, eyeing you with fancy eyes.
« I didn't ask when it was, I asked about the duration, you sigh, besides I didn't even agreed, you stated and raised a brow at him.
- Yet. If you really wanted to refused you would have already told me no, he smiles, knowing he won, so tell me, are you coming or not? »
Gritting your teeth, you looked everywhere besides the two men in front of you, one eager to know your answer, certain you will say yes. The other, praying you will say no, his eyes not leaving yours.
« Y/N- », begins Sunghoon before getting cut of by Heeseung.
« Come on! First and last time I ask you to! »
« I really hate you... » you mutter enough for them both to hear.
« Shit… » thinks Sunghoon, completely devastated you agreed.

« Every day, I enter into a different world
I was a butterfly, attracted to the temptation
I’ve fallen into a sweet scent
How do I look ? »
Here you were, waiting for Lee Heeseung to come pick you up, your hands tightly grabbing the strap of your purse. Soon enough, you catch a glimpse of a car's headlights. Stopping just in front of you, the driver's door opened to reveal Heeseung. His hair was up, showing his forehead, wearing a dark blue baggy jeans, an oversize black t-shirt with a leather jacket. His looks were complimented by earrings and necklace. And on his face, a smirk was plastered. You could tell he loved what he was seeing.
« Here we go, Mrs Y/N, » he smiles, opening the passagenger's door for you, and you oblige, sitting inside his car. His car was impressive, a black Alfa Romeo Giulia quadrifoglio. « Perfect for his car's racings », you thought to yourself as your eyes wander on the illuminated dashboard. As much as your heart was beating loudly, a part of you was telling you that Lee Heeseung has made a special propose for you to drive with him made you feel unique, until the other part of your brain reminds you that the seat you're currently sitting on had tons of women on it. It gave you chills and a little frown make its place on your face as Heeseung finally eases himself beside you.
« Are you comfy? he asks before stopping himself when looking at your face, I feel like I just kidnapped you while you agreed to come with me. » He chuckles while you refused to look back at him, a small pout on your lips.
« Nothing, hurry so I can go home as fast as I can, » you mumble while looking at the window.
« Alright, received loud and clear. » He smiles before pressing his foot on the pedal, the car dashing at top speed.
You suppress a loud gasp when he does, firmly gripping anything you can grasp. Your heart that was already beating real fast feels like it could explose anytime. You could not even apprehend what was happening at the moment, the city flashing at an incredible speed, soon reaching the small-town.
You try not to pay too much attention on the way he has his left elbow on the ledge of the window, his fingers grazing his lips and the other hand, firmly seizing the steerwheel. Gosh why was he still attractive after all the troubles he did to you?
« Liking the view my lady? » he says, snapping you out of your trance.
« I would be pleased if I could get another one right now. » You answer without missing a beat.
All you recolted was his laugh filling the tensed silence.
« I can say you give your trust easily Y/N, he stated with a grin, you really do look like those children who are seen being proposed some candies by a total stranger, he looks at you for a few seconds before looking back at the road, fallen into the trap. »
«I-, » you tried to answer back but couldn't say anything as it was true.
The rest of the trip was spent in the silence as a soft music played in the background. You were feeling uncomfortable. Mainly because you were not expecting to spend a soiree with a man and mostly Lee Heeseung.
You finally arrived when you see an infinite amount of cars alongside cheerful people, suddenly feeling self-consicous about the situation you're in right now. You didn't think about the fact that Lee Heeseung was very well known in town and so, that everyone surely already knew it was him by the sight of his car. As Heeseung parked right in front of a crowd, he turns his head to look at you. « Just be natural pretty, you will mak’em all speechless » he whispers smoothly, you took a deep breathe, nodding quickly before going out of the vehicule.
« Yo man, came with your new chick? Whistle a man upon seeing you, his eyes roaming up and down your silhouette.
- Yup, m'racing with her tonight, » grins proudly Heeseung, glancing back at you with a glint in his eyes while you roll yours up.
You then noticed how people were staring at you, mixed reactions coming up as you try not to pay attention to it. However, in the corner of your eyes, you notice a familiar body. Park Sunghoon. He was standing alongside the rest of the band. His eyes were fixed on you, a frown visible on his features. This made you uncomfortable. To be honest, everything made you self-conscious and anxious. This wasn't something you were used to, all the ruckus, this seems like another world to you and the dryness in your throat wasn't helping.
« Everyone! I'm gonna list all the races of tonight! » announces a slender men wearing a pair of sunglasses even though it was pitch dark, his long hair hiden behind a red cap.
Soon, everyone turned their attention towards him, listening actively to what he was saying.
« And for the last race, we will have Lee Heeseung against a new opponent! Tonight signs his first participation! Please, welcome Park Sunghoon! » he screams happily as he gestures towards the said man, standing not so far away from you, screams soon invading your ears as your eyes were fixed on him.
You notice the way his face remains close, not a single emotion discernible except for determination. And as your eyes cross each other, a firm grip on your hip made you look up, a low angle-shot of Heeseung's side profile entering your vision.
« Stop staring at him and focus on me. He says lowly only for you to hear.
- And who are you to order me that? You answer him, an eyebrow arched, surprising yourself at the way you could respond with confidence.
- Consider tonight like a date. He grins, finally looking down at you, his eyes flickering between your lips and your eyes.
- ...Tch. » You sigh. You really felt into his trap.
When your turn finally came, your hurriedly walk to go to Heeseung's car, but not before a hand gripped your forearm, yanking you slowly back.
« Can we talk real fast before going? You recognize his voice, it's Sunghoon.
- Okay... but quick. You nod along before isolating yourself with him, Heeseung watching afar not really liking what he is seeing, but the crowd around him make it impossible for him to reach out to you.
- Fuck. » He curses under his breath, feeling his blood boiling in his veins.
Being now a few meters away from all these people, Sunghoon halt his steps and turns around, his eyes immediately falling on your delicate features.
« Listen-
- Sunghoon-, you both started at the same time. He quickly gestures you to keep going as you heave a sigh, why? Why are you participating in this race ? Weren't you the one saying it was dangerous? You frown, your arms crossing against your chest.
- I know, I'm sorry I just... I just.. I think I just can't trust Heeseung hyung with you. He spoke, his words faint as if he was searching for his words. Thanks for the darkness of the sky, you couldn't decipher his red cheeks and ears nor even the way his eyes were looking everywhere but you.
- And why so? » You tilt your head, ignoring the reason behind this reasoning.
Your eyes were fixed on his face as he looks right back at you, determination written on his face.
« Because I… »
You were now in Heeseung's car, your heart beating crazily against your ribcage.
« What happened with Sunghoon? the driver asks, tone colder than a few hours ago.
- Nothing concerning you, you answer slowly, the name of the other man making you anxious.
- Y/N, what did Sunghoon told you? » Heeseung repeats, his voice a bit menacing as he places his car on the left side of the track, a gorgeous woman standing at your right with two flags in her hands. Soon, another vehicule stops just beside you. Not wanting to face Heeseung, you look at the window only to meet Sunghoon's fierce gaze. Your cheeks reddening, you quickly look in front of you, breath stuck in your chest.
« Well, if I win, you better tell me, he scoffs, foot on the pedal, pressing it hardly, both cars' motors roaring up.
- No, you frown, your hands clasping against the belt.
- It wasn't a question, » he finally says as a loud sound comes from an air horn signalling the start of the race.
Your words got stuck in your throat as the car dash at an alluring speed, your hands quickly grabbing the door's handdle to keep yourself steady.
« Fuck you Lee Heeseung for pulling me in this shit, you curse, feeling like your heart could explode anytime.
- The pleasure is mine baby, he smirks, shooting a glance in the rearview mirror, seeing as Sunghoon was close behind you, I can't believe it's his first time, you don't drive like this on your first time, he chuckles lowly, accelerating.
- Well, don't blame me if I end up barfing in your car, you say, breathless as he took a sharp turn on the left, your head almost colliding harshly against the window.
- Mark your territory pretty, » he only chuckles loudly.
It was a close race, one you couldn't tell who will win. And to be honest, you were more on the verge of throwing up and dying than to take care on who was winning. The only thing you could do was to focus on your breathe, cursing here and there and wondering why on earth did you accept to accompagny him, for what? Some dumb stationnary things you could buy yourself?!
In no time, you heard another loud bang of air horn, concluding the end of the race. Your eyes previously closed, opened slowly to reveal the crowd cheering for you.
« Did you win? You ask, voice weak and wet.
- Yup, I won baby, » the playboy declares, quickly opening his door as people were cheering loudly for him.
He quickly blend into the crowd, happily celebrating his victory as you got out of the vehicule, running to a secret corner to throw up. Coughing, tears in your eyes, you felt a striking pain in your head.
« I hate this man so much... kof kof... » you blabber, wiping your mouth with the hem of your hoodie.
You hurriedly dash out of the car once the latter stops in front of your house. The ride back was silent as you had closed your eyes all along, not answering the winner even once.
« Hey, Heeseung spoke, after stepping out of his car too, hands in his pockets, he makes his way towards you, a grin evident adorning his face, care to explain what had happened between you and Sunghoon now that I won?
- No. And after this night, I think I hate you even more, you spat, tiredness written all over your face.
- All right all right, what did I even do this time? he smirks, coming closer to you, his scent invading your nostrils as the wind carries his perfume.
- I... I freaking threw-, » you said before feeling another wave of vomit climbing back up your esophagus, your hand clasping against your lips.
Seeing your state, Heeseung couldn’t help but laugh out loud, his bright smile making you blush.
« It’s alright, just throw up, » he snickers as you walk fast away from him, crouching down near the drain in front of your house. Soon enough, you throw up once more, feeling breathless and thirsty. You then feel two warm hands tying your hair up in a makeshift ponytail, then a delicate hand massaging the back of your neck.
« I’m sorry I had to put you through this, but I had to win, » he smiles, his eyes inked to the back of your head as you cough, a few tears escaping your eyes.
Lee Heeseung, apologizing? This does not goes together very well. But why does he sound so sincere? Did he really meant those words?
« And for what? What did you won? » You ask, spitting not so gracefully in the drain, feeling well aware of his eyes on you, at this point you couldn’t care because your head was throbbing so painfully that receiving a bullet in your skull was the only solution you could think of.
« I was wishing for a chance with you actually, he said unbothered while you choked on your own saliva.
- Are you kidding me? You say, your throat so dry you feel like all the water in your body left you when you threw up.
- Nope, I want you. » he said, crouching down next to you, his fingers cupping your jaw to make you look at him. His thumb coming up to wipe off the saliva at the corner of your lips, the movement making you dizzy.
In the breezy night, it felt like only you and Lee Heeseung remained on Earth as time seems to have stopped. His eyes were hypnotizing you, your breathing stopping as you contemplate each other. For a second, your mind sure felt bewitched by his pupils. You felt like you were drunk, was it the effect of your periods? The fatigue? The stress? Or was it simply because of him?
« Make me love you… you breathed out, quietly.
- Mh? He only hums, slowly approaching his face closer to yours.
- If you so want me… then try to make me love you… you whisper, your ears and cheeks turning crimson as your heartbeat pounded furiously.
- Are you allowing me to? Because once I start, there’s no turning back, and… I will not accept any complain coming from your pretty lips » he mutters, his eyes closing slowly.
On the contrary, your eyes opened wildly, is he really going to kiss you? Like, right now? Your thoughts invaded your brain and without thinking twice, you quickly pushed him away, both your hands on his toned chest before getting up and running towards your house.
« I threw up! You say embarrassed as you fidget with your purse while searching for your keys.
- Wouldn’t have bothered me… » he mumbles to himself as he chuckles, a smirk plastered on his face as he watches you, hands in his pockets.
아홉.
« Farther, a little bit farther, high in the sky
I’ve come a white star as I fly away
Never seen it before
(Such warm eyes) »
You sigh in relief as you remember that it was Saturday.
« Finally alone! » You huffed softly, stretching out on your bed as birds are chirping.
Thanks to your great organisation, you already did all your homework too, so the weekend will be pretty chill. As you were humming contently, memories of what happened last night flew in your head and you quickly hide your tomato face in your cushions, screaming your frustration out.
« Are you okay girl? A deep voice asks.
- Huh? You’re back?! You instantly lift your head up to look up at your big bro, standing against the door of your room.
- Yup. Why did you screamed like a dead hen? Did you realized you’ll be single for the rest of your life? He grins mockingly.
- Shut up you cow! You spoke back, yeeting a pillow in his direction which he avoids easily.
- Breakfast’s ready, move yo ass down. » He smiles, satisfied before going down the stairs.
Fortunately for you, the breakfast went smoothly, catching up with your brother and spending time with your family is something you particularly enjoy.
« Someone threw up in the drain just in front of our house, if I catch them I’ll send them to Hades! Rumbles your dad as your face turn pale and you gulp down.
- If only you knew Dad… you thought to yourself, once again remembering Heeseung’s lips near yours.
- Hey, why are ya red like this? Smirks your brother, teasing you for the ninth time.
- Eggs are hot, you try to dissuade him, glaring.
- They’ve been on your plate for an hour what do you mean they’re hot? Liar. » He replies back, an eyebrow cocked, not believing you one bit.
You just snort and keep on eating, missing the way your brother’s stare remained on you for a bit longer than usual, examining your face.
**Buzz buzz**
The table trembles slightly as your phone vibrates. All eyes on you as you check your notifications. Some messages from an unknown number. Well. Not so unknown if you’re being honest because you knew exactly who it was.
« Answer, grins your brother.
- No phone at the table. Strictly orders your mom.
- Mom, your daughter is probably seeing your future son-in-law, snickers your brother which earns a small kick from you under the table, ouch! Why so violent sis?
- The day my daughter will have a boyfriend will be the day your father will stops snoring, your mother chuckles as your phone keeps vibrating, Y/N answer the poor boy.
- …, you watch every member of your family before sighing, okay…, » you mumble, taking your phone and walking away.
You then isolated yourself in the kitchen, a groggy voice reaching your eardrums.
« Hey beautiful, he greets you, the raspy voice being a clue of his recent awakening.
- What? You answer drier than intended, making him chuckle.
- Do you feel better? He asks, his eyes closed as your voice soothe his heart.
- Yes… thank you… for holding up my hair…, you mumble shyly, suddenly embarrassed about the fact you actually threw up before a human other than your family.
- Are you free? I want to see you. His tone sounded so pleading, you thought for a second.
- …Let’s buy what you had promised me, you whisper softly, unconsciously smiling.
- All right, will be here in 20, » he says, making a kissing sound before hanging up.
Your cheeks flushed when you realized he sent you a flying kiss. Before quickly shaking your head and slapping your cheeks. « Get your shot together Y/N! » you think to yourself.
« It was cheesy sis, sneers your brother peeking through the door, I actually can’t believe my sister has a date like right now, by the way can you run some errands for me? I will send you by texts. Thank you! He quickly says before disappearing.
- This kid I swear, I wonder if I’m not the older sister sometimes. » You roll your eyes up before quickly preparing yourself.
« Is it a date? Is it not? » After all, Heeseung did promised to buy you some stationery items, right? So he was just fulfilling his promise, right? So why couldn’t you stop the speed of your heart nor the unstopping back and forth thoughts in your head? Twenty minutes flew by in an instant and you were nervously waiting for him in front of the gates.
A loud roaring takes your attention as you search for the familiar car of last night. Here you see Heeseung’s impressive car, stopping in front of you.
« Tut-tut-tut, before you go lemme do a small check, cut off your dad, surprisingly standing next to you, I gotta see who is taking my daughter away from me.
- Dad it’s not a date..! You mumble between gritted teeth as you watch anxiously the way Heeseung got out of his car to come to you.
- That’s what your mom told her dad on the first date with me, he scoffs before examining Heeseung from head to toe.
- Good morning, I’m Lee Heeseung, » the latter says, extending his hand after bowing politely to your dad.
Your dad only shakes the younger man’s hand, his grip strongly engulfing Heeseung’s one. He puts some more pressure on his grip before Heeseung tightens his too making your dad chuckles shortly.
« 11 PM, not one second more, » he just said before turning his heels away and going back home.
You scoff at what he said, rolling your eyes up.
« I‘ll be home earlier than that, » you shake your head in disbelief.
Lee Heeseung could only smile as he opens the door for you, before going to the driver seats and driving you two in direction of your favorite shop.
열.
« Deeply place me in your universe
(I’ll close my eyes)
Take me far away
And make me love you »
8 PM, you couldn’t believe your eyes as you saw the time. Did you just spent a whole day with the man you thought hated from your deepest guts? The day flew by so quickly you did not even noticed it. And you hated to admit it but you had a great time with him. It almost felt too real to be true.
You were sitting on a bench, facing a lake as some shopping bags were at your feet, a respectable distance between you and Heeseung.
**Buzz buzz**
Your phone vibrates as you were staring at the female duck and her children swimming in the water.
« Ayo sis, I’m sending you what I need, just go to the 24/7 store! Thank you! » was the text your brother sent you before a list followed right after.
« - Cigarettes
- Lighter
- Candies
- Lube
- Condoms- »
You cough out loud, almost throwing out your phone in the lake as you saw the two last items he needed.
« Is everything okay? Heeseung asks with a small frown upon seeing you coughing badly.
- Y-yeah…yeah yeah… you chuckle it off, looking elsewhere but him.
- Do you want to go home? I will drive you-
- No actually I need to buy some stuff for my brother you can go ahead, I’ll go home alone, you smile sheepishly.
- Your dad’s gonna kill me if he ever learn I let you go home alone, Heeseung responds, and he was right, besides, I do want to drive you home, » he smiles softly, grazing his eyes over your features.
You could only sigh. Secretly noticing how the Lee Heeseung you knew in college wasn’t the same one standing in front of you.
« Well… why should I be shy since you saw me spitting out my intestines? You finally say before standing back up on your feet. Let’s go, » your turn to face him, his eyes staring up at you.
You didn’t noticed the awkward feeling right away but now it was eating you up as you were in the aisle presenting every brand of condoms that existed.
« Did I miss a hint from you? Smirks Heeseung, a box of condoms in his hand as he fixes the product.
- Stop it, I already want to bury myself alive right now, you whisper lowly, checking your surroundings like a psycho every two seconds, checking if someone is witnessing you.
- Should I help you out? These ones are great, he said, pointing a particular brand on a shelf.
- God, I didn’t have to know! You bite down on your lower lip, heat quickly spreading across your cheeks and your chest.
- And for the lube, take this one, » he says softly, ignoring your words, his body suddenly behind you as he reaches for a box of lube, the proximity making you breathless.
It seems like you stopped working as you couldn’t answer him nor move. So Heeseung took the matter in his hands and grabs the necessary items in one hand and your own hand in his other before leading you to the cashier. He then puts down the items that were quickly scanned by the young lady, eyeing you not so secretly.
« 28080.55₩, announces the lady.
- W-what?! Twenty thousand freaking won for some condoms and lube?! You thought to yourself before a little sound comes from the POS machine, indicating that the payment was done.
- Thank you! Have a great night! Bow the cashier before you couldn’t even process anything.
- Let’s go, » says Heeseung, grabbing the plastic bag and your hand, leading you outside.
You only snapped back to reality once the cold wind hit your face.
« Why did you paid for it?! And why did you choose the most expensive ones?! Twenty thousand won for condoms and lube were not worth it!
- If we want to do it correctly, the price is not important, he grins, tilting his head curiously.
- It’s not for me! You blush furiously, looking away and walking towards his car, let’s go home now.
- Should we eat a bit before I drive you home? He offers.
- …Then let me pay for it, you suggest after taking a few seconds to think.
- Alright princess, » he smiles as you both enter his car.
Like promised, Lee Heeseung let you pay for the dinner. You didn’t know if he was doing it on purpose or not, but his menu was cheaper than you, almost making you believe that he didn’t wanted you to pay a crazy amount.
« Are you sure this will be enough? You only took some fries and a soda… you mutter, looking down at his tray.
- Don’t worry, just eat, he shakes his head, plopping one fries in between in lips, slowly munching on it as he stares at the window.
- Here… you extend your untouched burger close to his mouth, your lips in a thin line. Hurry before I take it out. »
Heeseung looks at you with wide eyes before a warm smile spread onto his lips, holding onto the eye contact as he bites in the burger. His hand engulfs yours placed on the burger as he munches slowly. You then noticed how his fingers are long and slim, bigger than yours.
« Liking the view? His words seemed oddly familiar, reminding you of the scenes that happened earlier this weekend, finding it odd how everything changed in only a week.
- It’s not too bad, you answer boldly this time, keeping the eye contact.
- Want to see more? He grins.
- Nope, no more, don’t cross the line, you suddenly stopped him, his eyes going wide, a shocked expression before he burst out laughing, what? You ask, in disbelief.
- Nah you’re just cute, » he says, his chin on his palm, watching you endearingly as you eat your burger.
You stopped in front of your house’s gates, turning around.
« Thank you, I guess? » You say in a sigh.
Heeseung comes close to you, taking the bags from your hands and putting them down.
« I’ve never in my life waited this long, he mumbled, hands clasping around yours.
- For what? You ask a bit incredulous, palms sweating as the unusual feeling creeping in your chest comes again.
- After everything I’ve done to you, you’re still clueless of my intentions? I even said it to you multiple times already, he chuckles, incredulously.
- It doesn’t change the fact that you’re a playboy Heeseung…
- Do you want me to stop? He grins, a loving beam in his eyes.
- And what if you do? You answer back, looking up at him, getting lost in his eyes.
- Then I can have you for myself, he whispers, leaning dangerously close to you.
- I don’t know… you speak softly, voice fainter and fainter.
- If I give you something you longed for ever since, will you let me kiss you? He stares deeply in your eyes, searching for any hints of rejection, none besides hesitation.
- Depends… » you say, not really sure what he meant by that.
He fiddles with something in his pocket before a too familiar stringed bracelet comes into your field of view: the one your childhood’s friend gifted you, your anti stress.
« How…
- It fell when you were escaping Jake the other day, he gave me this and I knew it belonged to you when you came back searching for it, he whispers as he ties it back around your wrist.
- Thank you… for the day… for the bracelet, you trail off, not taking your eyes off from the simple but precious accessory on your wrist.
- It’s okay… he murmurs, his finger lifting your chin up, so is that a yes? You’re not going to reject me now, right? You didn’t threw up nor-
- Hurry up before I change my mind! You hiss, blushing and hitting his chest lightly.
- I love you. »
His words caught you off guard as his lips meet yours in a sweet kiss. Warmth spreading everywhere in your body as you felt butterflies in your stomach. Kissing Lee Heeseung was so easy, he made it so easy by taking the lead, kisses intoxicating your trail of thoughts.
His gentle bite on your bottom lip made you gasp, his wet muscle quickly claiming yours in a burning tango.
From his point of view, Heeseung sneakily slide his hands on your hips, grabbing them firmly as he practically presses his body to yours. His eyes half opened to see the way your eyes fluttered or the way your cheeks flushed. His heart couldn’t take any more of it, pounding in sync with yours.
« Gosh you make me go insane Y/N… he whispers against your lips, heavy breathing as you both seems in a trance, forehead finally joining.
- I hate you…you lie, looking away.
- You’re so sneaky Y/N, » he chuckles, ready to capture your lips for another kiss.
A loud gasp emitted from behind you as you quickly step away from Heeseung, turning around to see your brother.
« Sorry to interrupt but… Lil sis, do you have my condoms? »
« K-kiss you, t-touch you, w-want you »
« Make me love you »
END.

“Egoistical.”
“Jerk.”
“Fuckboy.”
“You really know how to pick ‘em, don’t you?” Seungmin hummed as he took a bite of his sandwich. You rolled your eyes, ignoring him and turning back to Giselle and Karina.
“Ignore him,” Giselle scoffed, side-eyeing him before saying, “OK. Continue. What else?”
Karina snapped her fingers, getting an idea, “Name his icks!”
“Oh, God,” you sighed, putting your head in your hands. “How he’s a fucking gamer. He would be on that game twenty-four-seven!”
“Immediate red flag,” Karina said, patting your shoulder as you groaned, slumping over the table. “Are you sure you're not colorblind, Y/N?”
“More like just dumb,” Seungmin pushed your bowl of salad closer to you, bumping it into your head. “Eat.”
“I don’t think I can,” you huffed, “I see him next period. I’m afraid I’ll throw up.”
“Ooh, throw up on him!” Giselle said excitedly with Karina nodding in agreement.
You threw a look at her, “I will not! No matter how funny it would be, I’d be so embarrassed.” Seungmin stiffened next to you, making you glance his way and see that he was glaring at something in the distance. You follow his gaze and feel your mouth dry, blinking as you stare at the scene in front of you.
Here was your ex-boyfriend, only being broken up for two weeks, throwing his arm over some girl you vaguely recognized from your English literature class. Heejin, you thought her name was. He looked good, way too good for someone just broke up with someone who they supposedly wanted to give the world to.
You thought for a split second, that maybe, just maybe, they were just friends. And then his head turned to plant a kiss right on her lips and every hope you had left shattered.
“Two-timer,” Karina added bitterly to your conversation from earlier. You swallowed roughly, tearing your eyes away from the scene. You briefly registered the feeling of Seungmin’s hand resting on your knee, squeezing once in comfort. You don’t know if your eyes teared up from the sight of Haechan and Heejin, or from the once-in-a-lifetime kindness from Seungmin.
“There’s no way he wasn’t,” Giselle gaped at the sight. “In a couple of weeks? Cheater.”
“Fuckboy,” Seungmin repeated, stressing the word. He stood up, shoving the last bite of his sandwich in his mouth and pulled you up with him. “C’mon, we’re skipping class. He better hope we don’t see each other off campus.”

Your head perked up slightly at the sound of a familiar voice, watching Haechan and Mark Lee walk around the corner, neither noticing you in your corner of the library. You were surrounded by your textbooks, studying for your upcoming test in literature.
“—But yeah, this therapist I’ve been seeing, I can totally hook you up with her,” Haechan was saying, patting Mark on the shoulder as they went to a bookshelf. “She’s great, helping me work on myself to be better. For Heejin.”
You were the one who got him in touch with the therapist. Your fists clenched.
“Cool. Wait, dude, what? I thought you couldn’t refer me,” Mark said in confusion, scanning through the titles of the books.
“No, Mark!” Haechan shook his head, adding an unnecessary whine to his voice, “I think that only applies when you’re the therapist, can’t have any patients with, like, personal ties.”
“Oh,” Mark dragged out the second letter, nodding his head and coming to a stop on a book. “Hey, found it. Let’s go check it out.”
“Ms. Jang loves you more than she loves me, you do it—”
“Because I don’t defile her sacred place with all your sins—”
“Sins! What else is the library meant for? Studying?”
“Definitely not making out and going to third base—”
Their loud voices faded away the further they got. Your pencil lead broke, making you blink in surprise and turn to it, seeing you had been gripping the pencil so hard onto your paper that it made a harsh mark on it and broke. You unclench your jaw and look back down at your paper as a drop of liquid hits it, staining it.
The feeling of wetness on your cheeks made you inhale and exhale unevenly, trying to calm your breathing. You blinked away an onset of tears, thinking back to last night when Seungmin finally left your dorm. As soon as you reassured him that you were OK, he reluctantly left and when you were sure he was gone, you burst into tears.
Instead of bothering your roommate with your crying, you hid in the bathroom for almost the entire night. Being pathetic, looking at your gallery full of Haechan and crying.
You swiftly wiped under your eyes as Giselle and Karina entered the back of the library, beelining to your corner. They didn’t need to know.

“Woah,” a classmate from Linguistics gaped as Haechan pulled into his parking spot, in his shiny, bright, new Tesla. “A Tesla! That shit’s crazy.” He turned to his friends to either talk shit about Haechan or praise him. You hoped it was the former.
“Where the hell did he get money for that?” You spat under your breath to Seungmin, who crossed his arms and shook his head in reply.
“I heard he got accepted at that internship,” Giselle crossed her arms over her chest, glaring at the boy as he stepped out of the car. “That one he’s—”
The one that you helped him study for?
“He got money from that?” You scoffed, glaring even harder as Heejin stepped out of the passenger side. The two joined hands, walking off without even a glance your way. You were seething by now. You wanted to strangle him so bad. “No way. He’s gotta be, like, in the mafia.”
“He’d die in seconds because of that mouth of his,” Seungmin snickered.
“I hate him,” you huffed, storming off into the opposite direction. Your friends followed dutifully as you rambled on about your ex-boyfriend. “He doesn’t even look my way! It’s like we weren’t in a relationship for a whole fucking year! And I’m the reason he’s doing so better; that internship? I helped him with it! What the fuck?”
Haechan discarded you like he was bored of you, even after an entire year of dating. That was partly the reason why it hurt so much; did you really mean nothing to him?
His sweet words, touches that seemed to burn you everywhere. He left a mark on you like no other. You didn’t know if it would ever fade away.
Tumblr media
You were back in your spot in the corner of the library, far away from the librarian, Ms. Jang. Your books were closed, put away. You just needed some space to think, and then it turned into a silent crying session after getting too far into your memories with Haechan. You were just lucky that no one had come to the back yet.
It was only a moment later that giggling filled your ears and you rolled your eyes so hard you thought they were going to fall out. Of course, you had to jinx yourself. There was no way you were staying to witness a happy couple make out in what they thought was an empty corner. Groaning under your breath, you go to collect your textbooks and folders, only to stop midway once you recognize one of the giggles.
Despite not wanting to, you slowly looked up to confirm your thoughts. Right in front of you was Haechan and Heejin, the boy peppering kisses all over her face with a lovestruck grin on his face.
There was a loud crack, but it seemed like you were the only one to hear it. Your heart clenched painfully in your chest, chest tightening as it got harder to breathe and see. Tears clouded your vision, but you could hear Haechan’s next words loud and clear.
“I swear, you’re like the only one that gets me,” he whispered seriously. He said that same fucking sentence to you.
Your eye twitched. That was the last straw. You stood up, chair screeching as it slid back against the marble floor and shoved your books in your bag clumsily. You could barely see, but you knew that they were looking at you.
You wiped under your eyes harshly, blinking back the tears as you sniffled. God, you hoped he couldn’t tell you were crying. That would be so embarrassing.
“Y/N,” Haechan said your name softly, almost in an apologetic way but you knew he wasn’t truly sorry. Instead of acknowledging him, you shoulder your bag and swiftly turn to walk past the couple quickly. Your hopes die as he grabbed your arm as you went to walk by him.
“Hey,” he said softly. “I—I didn’t know you were here or—”
You turned to him so swiftly it startled him, glaring straight at him and ignoring Heejin, “Oh, yes you did. You know that this is usually my spot. You came here on purpose to try and make me jealous. It’s pathetic, really. Having a new relationship yet here you are, basically chasing after your ex, trying to get my attention.” You turn to Heejin, who looks at you wide-eyed, and a bit of hurt at your words, “I truly do feel sorry for you, Heejin. He isn’t the boy,” you spat the word out, “—you think he is. He’s a liar, and I bet you he was talking to you when he was still dating me.” Your head turned to him slightly, “People don’t change. Especially people like him.”
“But, you know what,” you chuckled breathily, “Congratulations, Haechan. You seem to be getting everything you want. Good for you. But you should really be thanking me, because I’m the fucking reason you’re doing so well. Fuck you.”

Hey Miles! What's your type?
Miles looks at his friends, "Hmm?"
"What's your type?" Gwen asked, "Like what do you see yourself with?"
Pavtri nodded, "Yeah, what kind of boy or girl you like?" Hobie stood listening them, his whole body turning into a curious colors; like soft green, bright yellow and gray with magazine and newspaper prints all over with symbols of curiosity fonts, and imagery.
"Hmm, I always did like girls like Gwen; smart, funny, serious, and vulnerable like good way. Like shows her sensitive side, I guess..." Miles explains about the girls he dated being similar to his old crush, Gwen. This got Gwen blushing so hard her face turns tomato red.
"Awe, love you too, man!" She plays off her blushing as she pats harshly on her friend's back. The two did like each other at one point, but it was at the wrong time. She needed to heal herself before getting involved in a serious relationship. Miles needs to deal with his own traumas and wanted the Spider people he was close to, to gain back his trust. So, they never went for it and slowly became close friends instead of lovers. It's safer like that.
"Ow!" Miles rubs his arms feeling pain on his back being nervous.
"What about guys! You said your into guys too!" Pavtri got close to his friend's face while holding his hand, even Hobie got close to listen.
"Well... umm... never really thought about it. I guess, the same thing as Gwen- um..." His honey-brown eyes started to drift away from eye contact being flustered. "I kinda like tall guys! Like really tall."
Gwen saw Hobie being pink, then stood next to Miles with his hand measuring Miles' height against his own. Hobie is a freakin' tall dude, being six foot and four inches while Miles only six foot. This made the teenager girl giggle.
"What else?" Pavtri asked.
Miles wasn't paying attention to Hobie and Gwen assuming they were being goofy with each other. "Umm... I always saw myself being with a guy that's edgy, likes music..." Hobie did a happy pose, showing off his outfit being punk and his guitar being, "romantic." The punker pulled out a rose being the romantic type.
"Funny, smart, not afraid to be sensitive, sweet with kids!" Hobie putting on a goofy glasses with mustache, then a book by Albert Einstein and pulls out Mayday from the blue while holding her. Mayday giggles at the punker being surprised he grab her out of home from a portal!
"Kids? You want kids!"
"No, I mean... i dunno a guy that's nice with kids is a green flag for me." Miles rubs his chin unaware of Peter 616 coming out of the portal to take back his daughter from the punker and wag his finger. Mayday merely laughs agains before waving the punker goodbye. The two went back to their world. "Oh, I always saw myself being with a black man, someone Jamaican or Caribbean but I wouldn't mind an Afro Latino or African or just black." He rub his neck.
Hobie happily stood showing off his tattoo of a Jamaican and Haitian pride alongside his West African flag to represent his descendants. Gwen snickers seeing how clueless Miles is being with his type. "What else? No Indian or brown love, Miles." Pavtri pouts.
"Oh, I don't mind that! I'm down for anyone." Miles shyly said, "I do like guys like you, Pav. Like sweet, funny and always putting a positive attitude!"
"Ohh, Miles! You make me wanna date you!" Pavtri hugs him having to nuzzle his cheek, "Hehehe, if I wasn't dating my Gayatri, you'll be my bae!"
That made Hobie jealous, turning grey with newspaper labels with prints, "Do not touch! Warning!"
"Hahaha, awe Pav, you're too nice." Miles giggles, then he said, "Oh, I like guys that are kinda bad boys... like they break the rules."
Hobie turns pink again, that is him. "Oh, and he cares about social views like Black Lives Matter, Women's Rights, LGBTQ plus umm... you know people's rights, heh. I guess, that kind of guy is unrealistic, huh?"
The punker looks surprised and exaggerated his pose into a big WHAT, with hands in the air and squatting. Gwen burst out laughing seeing how this is the perfect description of Hobie Brown.
"Awe, really?" Pavtri's brown eyes glance over at Hobie looking confused and lost. "I mean, I feel like someone already exists."
"I dunno... the guys I meet always be bums, then again I haven't dated much." Miles explains, "Oh, maybe this being a stretched but a guy with a nice accent is hot, y'know."
Hobie threw his hands in the air, Miles' man is right here. Pavtri giggles, "Miles..."
"You describe Hobie?" Gwen hums.
Miles looking flustered at his crush but the sixteen year old look so lost, "I did! Oh..." He glances over at the punker, "It's because you're so amazing! Anyone would be so happy to be with you, man!"
Hobie had hearts with his grey pop into a blooms of pinks being so happy, he picks up his friend with a nuzzle, "Awe, I love you, too, Sunflower!"
"Huh! Where did that come from?" Miles felt his face so warm, he cover his face being embarrassed by all this.
Gwen said to Pavtri seeing Hobie happily carrying around Miles like a couple. "You know... they are taking their sweet ass time to date!"
"You know, Miles... our sweet Miles is too shy and naive!" Pavtri giggles.

Chibs observes first red flags
music: romeo and juliet by dire straits
word count: 1350
You felt the exhaustion wash over you like an avalanche as you left the bar. The street was swaying comfortably, and yet, you still weren't sleepy. At least, Chibs. aka Filip, knew what he was talking about. Looking at him, he probably always does. You were watching him, the only source of light in your tunnel vision, as he was hiding the orange flash from his lighter.
"Whatcha wanna do next?" he asked.
'Go home', you thought automatically, and immediately, the home had a picture of Ned's bleeding body in the yard. Wow! Nightmares will surely follow. You tried really quickly to remember, as you held yourself on the lamp post, if ghosts exist. Rattling your brains, you were feeling for the facts and came to the conclusion, that no, in this dimension, ghosts didn't exist. The lamp post shifted, and you, with it. A warm hand laid over your palm. It was Chibs that you leaned onto.
"You know what, after a good stabbing, I only wanna one thing", you mumbled. He hummed to show he's listening.
She was blushing with heat from the inside of her body, her leather jacket relaxed on her shoulders, the necklace slightly tilted, her hair soft, with liquid sparks in the streetlight. Her lips slightly open, and it was so easy at that moment to imagine those lips doing anything, anything he wanted. He was ready to take her anywhere she'd ask tonight, even if it was the freaking Grand Canyon.
Now you two were on the way to the club with live music, because only good band, only good band that would play old music, could heal you tonight.
It was weirdly reminiscent of the night you just had told him about; because it was loud, dark, and you both forgot to drink because of how much you talked. The band was playing on and on, with hits from old-school worlds like Dire Straits, Journey, Starship, and then even further, and more nostalgic. And Chibs was smoking, laid back against the chair and the wall of mist, his eyes glistening at you. At first, he listened more, as you spoke about music, and your job, and the house, but then had to assume a more secure position with his elbows on the table, as the topic slid onto his homeland. You then spoke about the accents and history, and nature, and how you traveled to Ireland nine years ago, and on, and on, and on, and then he mentioned killing mice in his house when they sneaked into the kitchen to eat the food and wiring, and you went absolutely lexically berserk on him. The heated debate was so eloquent, so level-headed for a drinking night like this, that in the middle of it you already sobered up.
"Yer telling me lassie", Chibs pointed his new cigarette at you, "that you feel worse for killing that fruit fly than that Ned boy".
"The fruit fly has no consciousness, the fruit fly HAS NO UNDERSTANDING of where it was", you were trying to scream over the loud riffs of Who'll Stop The Rain, but it also made it just a little funny.
"I get it, I get your deep ecological sentience argument, and I am all ready to believe that you could actually choose to live amongst fruit flies and weasels if such an opportunity presents itself..."
"Deep ecological sentience? Is that, like, a term?"
He nodded.
"Yeah, it's on the verge of misanthropy, which I wouldn't put past ya. Ever heard of Anti-Anthropocentric school of rhetoric?"
You shook your head: "I am surprised you do not consider yourself a misanthrope, I thought a person of your intelligence would have an inherent embarrassment of their species..."
He smiled and rubbed his face in a half-amused way, flicking the butt of the cigarette into the ashtray. You noticed he had a habit of showing teeth when he was having fun.
"Anti-Anthropocentric rhetoric", you repeated musingly, "that's quite a mouthful".
"You can take it", he murmured in good nature.
"I have a very small mouth", you said, before you could think. Something twinkled in his eye, but without skipping a beat, he replied,
"We'll think of something".
That was the moment you understood that Chibs is stupid hot. That was the small detail you couldn't put your finger to the whole day; the face with scars, the animalistic quietness harbouring some kind of warning, the low, rumbling voice and the unapologetic accent he flauntered like peacock, a tail. And how you felt uneasy, not knowing what exactly you should say, it was the appeal. It was the stupid, basic, horny. You had a desire to call him sir. He was a good-looking, slim, mature man who looked you directly in the eye. You wondered about the vigor in his muscles, completely busking in the comfort of not having to set the scene. He was continuing to take care of it.
After some time and another debate that had no business being that enlightening in Scottish English, you felt your bladder tugging you from the inside in a polite request, so you stood up to go to the toilet.
"You want me to walk you?" he asked. You grinned,
"I am not that helpless, thanks".
"It's the hour of the night when all the idiots completely lose it", he warned soberly.
"Well, I do have the scary dog privilege", you said, and he winced.
"That's a little degrading, don't you think?"
There must have still been some alcohol in you, because of how bravely you stepped up to him and allowed your fingers to snake up to the zip of his jacket.
"I did say 'privilege', didn't I?"
As he was driving Y/N to her light green house, Chibs was thinking about the annoying feeling of appreciation. No one has spoken to him about his Glaswegian tongue in all of the years since he left home. He knew how it was with them specialists, but getting so deep into her character took the edge off his chase. He now, unfortunately, saw her as a distinguishable human, something he tried not to bother with, with women, so that they both could just have good time.
He thought of Jackie and how he tried to protect her when he got so much as a whiff of something funny coming her way. Understandable. This girl could spit twenty word sentences even with half a liter vodka inside of her. And stay blushing.
He nudged you gently into the shoulder, upset with himself.
"Home delivery".
"Mm", you totally dozed off, lulled by the soft movement of the car. Your mouth felt dry. The car smelt like your perfume now, and smoke. The smoke! It's like it was everywhere, even in your pants.
"What are you delivering?" you mumbled, trying to gather yourself to sucessfully leave the car.
"Yerself", he responded, kicking the door open.
As you walked towards the door, you turned and said,
"Come in".
And Chibs did what he always did, because he was a professional.
"Y/N, I don't think..."
You giggled,
"Don't be silly. I have something for you. For helping me".
He entered the house after you, a little puzzled, and you trotted towards the kitchen. Something flickered in your mind when you woke up, like some connections in brain fried up at the right moment. His face lit up as he saw you with a box of Ferrero Rocher in your hand.
"I suddenly remembered I have them".
"Don't wanna rob you of the treasure", he weighed the box in his hand, unable to stop smiling.
"No, I have another one. I love them too", you reassured him. "Thank you for sticking with me and listening... to all this".
"Go on, have some rest", Chibs tipped his chin instead of answering, "and careful not to step on fucking silverfishes in yer bathroom".
"Why, you saw them? Did YOU KILL ANY SILVERFISHES TODAY?" you started screaming. Moving back towards the entrance, hair back, eyes open wide, like a victorian ghost, so Chibs hopped away as quickly as he could, shutting the door behind him.

Can I get a forbidden romance with Trevor? I’m not really picky about why it’s forbidden but maybe not the usual brothers best friend trope ❤️🙏🏻
a/n: you asked for forbidden romance so i went as dramatic as i possibly could with this. pls dont hate me. i did not include any names so just pretend its a player that everyone universally hates so no one feels bad for him going forward
warning: this fic is definitely going to have some cheating in it as well as a not so good boyfriend in the emotional sense.
Tumblr media
“I don’t know what you expect me to do.” You let out a frustrated sigh as you looked over at Trevor. Both of you had stepped outside onto the patio of the restaurant and it hadn’t taken long for an argument to start between the two of you. An argument you had to keep kind of quiet so you wouldn’t get anyones attention but you also knew any of your shared friends inside couldn’t even see you two. “Maybe I don’t know, don’t move away?” He said it as if it was the easiest thing in the world.
Like you wanted this move when it was actually the last thing you wanted. “You know I can’t just do that.” You tried to calmly explain to him but he was already waving his hand as if your words were just an excuse. “So you’re just going to go. That’s it?” He asked and you nodded your head because what else was he expecting. Trevor wouldn’t understand because he wasn’t in your shoes. Everything was easy when you weren’t the one having to actually do it. “Listen, let’s pause this conversation. We have to go back in there but we can talk about it some other time this week. Promise.” You did mean that, even if you felt like you couldn’t change the outcome the way he wanted.
Making your way back inside, you slipped into your seat. Almost immediately a hand went to your thigh and you turned, pasting a smile onto your face as you looked at your boyfriend. “Everything okay? You look upset.” He pointed out and you shook your head. “I’m fine.” You gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, trying to distract him from asking any more questions. “What were you and Z talking about out there?” No such luck apparently on the questions. “He was just asking about your trade and if we were excited to move.”
That answer seemed to do the trick. Oh yeah, did you forget to mention that your current boyfriend was Trevors teammate and not only that but he just got traded to the east coast so both of you had to pack your bags this upcoming week and start looking for a new place. Only downside? You weren’t happy but you didn’t know how to express it. You had fallen out of love with your boyfriend before you had even gotten to know Trevor but you had truly known it once you had spent more time with him.
There had been red flags there with your current boyfriend that you should have acknowledged sooner but ignored. Funny enough Trevor had been the one to point out the obvious red flags to you as you two had grown closer. It was obvious Trevor wasn’t a fan of his teammate which wasn’t good for anyone and this trade should have been good news to him except when he realized you weren’t planning on staying behind with him. There had been not nice words shared from Trevor that you were just looking for comfort and you were choosing that over actual real love.
Maybe he wasn’t far from the truth but you had been in this relationship for so long and your lives were intertwined so deeply that it almost felt like you needed to just deal with it. Trevor of course didn’t see eye to eye on that. In another life you knew you and Trevor could have been happy together but that just wasn’t going to be this life. “Actually I just wanted to say something real quick.” Your boyfriends voice snapped you out of your thoughts.
As he lowered himself onto one knee in front of you, you felt your heart start to race but not in the good way. You knew what was about to happen and when the ring box came out you wanted to excuse yourself from the table but you were in front of all your friends and panic took over instead. “Will you marry me?” There had been a pretty good sized speech before that you missed and all you could hear were those four words. “Uh yeah. I mean yes.” You were dizzy and your eyes flashed up to see Trevor disappearing out the door of the restaurant.

becoming the lastnames:
i can and will make becoming the last names about whoever the fuck i want, however,
taako (& kravitz) -
“I'm not sure yet myself, but I learned from a good father
Yeah, I mean, sure, they messed me up, but I think that's just the gig”
being about davenport
“And marriage always scared me, but I'd like to have a last love
And love can last a pretty good long while, yeah, I've seen it around”
duh, barry and lup OBVIOUSLY
something something taako seeing lup fall in love after everything they went through together and that’s great but him never seeing that for himself
“But what do I know 'bout forever when so far I've been so fleeting?”
everyone was just talking dust, etc etc
“Babe, my frontal lobe's done growing, this might just be how I'm wired
But now we're kissing before brushing, smile with our whole faces
If you want a hyphen last name, I guess I don't mind the cadence”
it’s just. hold my hand. trust.
“Cause I've made more mistakes than simple empty moments
Whoa-oh, each one as out of character as you know I tend to be”
you’re gonna look me in the eyes and say that is not a taako thing. come on.
“If we grow old together, will you talk to my headstone?
That is, assuming that I die first (which is fair) and assuming I don't leave”
kravitz already being dead and taako having a habit of running away
________________
cicada days:
taako and lucretia -
“She said, "It just feels inhumane to lose this much"
"'Cause when you leave you know you takе more than your love"
lucretia losing her family, also her making taako forget lup
“Let all my red flags fade to white, yeah, I give up
Don't let me leave, I'll only take more than I gave
Okay, I'll pack my stuff
Here at the end of days, my god, what have I done?
Christ, now it feels damn inhumane to get all I've dreamed of”
lucretia after the day of story and song, feeling like none of them care about her anymore because of what she did. but ultimately, the world was safe, her family was safe, even tho the way she wanted to go about it was wrong and would have killed them all, and her having to come to terms with what she did to everyone, taako and davenport especially
taako after glamour springs, seeing the people he thought he killed after achieving his dream of being famous. something something sazed letting taako believe it was his fault
________________
euthanasia:
lucretia -
i actually think about this a lot LMAO
“I was right there
While you fought tooth and nail
Gasping in the gas mask thrashing till you disappeared
Say you're not scared, that you know it's cause I cared and
Say you know I love you, and that hope was just not there”
magnus walking in while she’s feeding the story to the void fish, her saying she loves all of them, and she’s gonna fix everything
“Over the rainbow, can I stop by and say hello and
Sorry I would take it back if I could but I know
To love one from too far to call
Is not to love at all, to whom is it I talk?”
her visiting them in their respective areas, just to make sure they were okay
________________
that’s enough, let get you home:
barry bluejeans -
“Haunt my bedroom at night and say "Let's get you home"
liches <3
“They say "Grow up, be a man, 'cause until then
You're nothing but a short-haired girl"
sorry trans barry will always be real to me
“So come on, William, grow up, be a man
'Cause until then they're gonna treat you
Like you're just a little girl
But come and Braille-palm-read, hold my hands and you'll see that
It's me who cries mercy while your fingers curl
And, oh, are you at all like me?
Do you know what I mean?
Or am I too close to see?
Someone, anyone?”
DO YOU GET IT.
________________
um, it’s kind of a lot:
taako -
“But I never been afraid of no one breaking my heart
It's not like I'm 'bout to fall and cut my throat on the shards”
taako not really. seeing falling in love as an option for him
“Hold me like a tourniquet, and I'll you, like an iron maiden
I've grown used to fear
But no, not to you yet, my dear”
something about kravitz being so just. sweet and endearing and that just scaring the shit out of taako. kravitz will hold him gently and help him, he’ll hold kravtiz like he will leave him
taako is always very much the quote of, everything i let go of has claw marks on it
“Oh, I love you so much it scares me half to death
I'm not used to this
How did it happen, baby?”
my taakitz :(
“And I'm afraid you'll notice all my flaws
I'm afraid you already have, obviously
And I'm afraid I'll come on too strong
Hold you too tight and scare you too”
post wonderland.
“I'll twist my words: a clever turn of phrase
Sorry, darling, please excuse my
Constant need to self-aggrandize
Coddling my narcissism
M.A.D. come ride my A-bomb
While I beg you to say I'm okay
So here's one last lyric to sum up these
Thoughts I struggled to come up with
To make me sound deep and smart and
Then I promise I'll shut up
Wait, let me think
Hold on, I got this
Anything but "I'm in love with you"
ARE WE KIDDING.
________________
half decade hangover:
taako and lucretia -
“Wonder how I didn't die
This is not my life. I'm no survivor, I only happened to survive”
taako post glamour springs after he got some reason didn’t test the food first
lucretia being alone after she erases their memories, technically alive but. why
“Cause I was drunk when I made my bed
Now with a half-decade hangover I lay down in it
What have I done? Don't know what I've said
It's a half-decade hangover, either this, in jail, or dead
It's a half-decade hangover, Jesus Christ my aching head”
taako having to deal with the aftermath of glamour springs. specifically “either this (adventuring with thb), in jail (cause of glamour springs), or dead (yeah.)”
also him with angus after being a dick to him or any other person he lashed out at
lucretia having to deal with what she had done, watching her family be a shell of themselves and then once they’re back, dealing with the backlash from it
“Sober, but so much still hangs over
Please believe me when I say I poured my whole past down the drain
Say that a second chance is a chance I can take
But I can't make amends for things I don't remember
I can only say I'm sorry and occasionally pray
Guess you'll just have to take my word that I've changed
After one thousand eight hundred twenty five days”
then not being able to remember half of the shit that they did, lucretia not being able to ask for forgiveness till so so much later. also she can’t fix what she did
________________
vampire reference in a minor key:
kravitz -
i mean, duh. the whole vibe of the song is so kravitz
“If you need me, I'll be in my coffin
You could come knocking, and I'll raise hell for you”
this man arguing with his literal GODDESS cause the guy he likes has a fucking weird family
“Hold my hands, we'll dance the 12-step on my grave
I'd kill the man I am for one more chance to be yours, babe
No, I ain't begging, I'm just saying, it's an option
Don't let the latest be the last nail in my coffin”
TRUSTTTT
________________
the main character:
taako -
i mean. come on. you saw that coming
“So, God forbid I'm seen just as an average human being
I mean, imagine if protagonists just died in the first scene
I'm the gap between a tragedy and comedy
Don't come at me
I'm the main character, and you have to like me”
i think justin listened to this song and went. yk what. i can work with that. (ik taz came out before incase i make it, hush)
“you’re about to kill americas favorite wizard.”
“I loot plot armor from NPCs
Well, they are to me
Trite, tropes, traits, traumas, trinkets, and treats, it's all XP”

against the kitchen floor:
taako -
it’s literally called against the Kitchen floor. what do you want from me.
“I don't owe you my heart
And I don't owe you my body
But you should know that I'm sorry
For being careless with you”
listen. me and mars love to play little barbie’s with these characters but like. do you understand. do you see the vision. taako being someone who has a lot of casual sex and is like no yeah i’m so cool and normal about this and he’s Not cause he’s a Liar but like.
the wanted to be wanted thing even if it’s not. good.
something soemthing sazed etc etc
“I swear, I'm really trying
Get it together, Will, know and do better
It just don't come natural to me to think that you'd want me for mе
I swear, I'm really trying
Oh, I'm sorry, I promise, I'm doing my best
I just haven't learned how to be human as you are yet”
him having to learn what a normal and healthy relationship looks like with kravitz and being kind of off put when kravitz actually likes him for real
“I've lived more lives than enough, I haven't died quite as much
But I'm not a real person, just the shit you can't make up, and”
stolen century, duh
“I swear, I'm really trying
I'm just as exposed if I take off my clothes
When we make the closest thing to love that I'm capable of
And I don't know why you would care
But I'm really trying”
something about his glamour thing after wonderland
“I'm catatonic in your arms
Crying, "How did I cause so much harm?"
I'm down pounding my head against the kitchen floor
Apologizing for my life and ever entering yours
Don't say "I'm sorry, but this can't go on"
I know you've got scars of your own
But hide my knives before you go
I'll either live or die alone”
him with sazed after glamour springs
“ promise, I honestly wanna prove improvement's possible
I swear, I'm so fucking sorry
I'm not a good person, I'm barely a person at all
But someday I'll be perfect, and I'll make up for it all”
“taakos not a hero.” yeah.

sex, drugs, rock’n’roll:

“So this is what I choose to do
With my redeeming quality
That thing that came from the same place as my
Instability”
i know it means mental instability, and like yeah that too, but his home/money instability. learning how to be a wizard and how to cook so that he would have somewhere to stay
“It's not a gift if you pay for it
And I don't want no charity
I spent all my years to end up right here, and now
I really think I'd rather leave”
post glamour springs
“And I hate proving that
I'm still human after all”
“i’m a fully realized creation! fuck!” etc etc

You can hear the ocean if you hold it up to your ear, here:
White noise
If you listen close between the waves
White noise
You can hear the ocean through your wake
White noise
If you listen close between the waves
White noise
You can hear the ocean through your wake”

No you’re so right because Lando didn’t say Max winning was all luck but even saying they were lucky with the red flag was not cool
Right?
Like you don’t have to take it out of context for it to be a dumb comment it was still dumb.
Yes they got lucky that their gamble paid off but taking the gamble is still a decision. And a better one than McLaren made. Red Bull pit wall looked at the conditions, heard other radios, and said “either it gets so bad they red flag it, or someone bins it. Max can keep it on track until then”. That’s luck but it’s not dumb luck. Zandvoort 2023 they looked at a similar situation and said no he has to come in he will go off otherwise, and he did one lap on full wets before they red flagged it. They didn’t take the gamble then. But this time they did. Poker is a game of chance but some people are better poker players than others because there’s skill involved as well. You calculate your risks. McLaren didn’t calculate the risks correctly, that isn’t their bad luck it’s their incorrect decision making.
And by the wayyyy, Lando wanted to pit earlier. He was on the radio several laps before pitting asking to pit and the engineers were like why would even suggest that. Maybe part of the reason they pitted was because he was worried about staying on track. But the point is, bro, you want to talk luck when you were literally advocating for a real bad idea.
And then, he went ice skating. Literally drove to Buenos Ares on that restart. Even if Lando hadn’t pitted Max probably would have absolutely cooked him in the last stint. He wasn’t going to check out, even if he’d had good visibility, imo.
All the luck in the world would not have saved that start, or the restart, or the other lock up. So yeah saying it was luck…it was lucky, but it wasn’t luck.

So BPD/EUPD (my essay)
I said I'd make a post - Not BG3 related in any way, so ignore if you're not interested in that. - Warning it's long. -
Also TW (sui, s/h, MH...etc...)
BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) / EUPD (Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder)
I only got diagnosed in 2022 - late for most who get this, but looking over my life, there are a lot of big red flags that show I should've got diagnosed earlier. Going to be from my life with it, can't speak for the others with it, so hey, this is how it is for me. Like all illnesses - It's A sPeCTruM!
So I'm EUPD type Borderline under the DK rules. Some argue there is this 4 types things but there's no research at all here for it. They treat with meds (useless for me I've found) and DBT (basically used for mental illness, it feels like.) - I am raw dogging life thanks to circumstance which explain why I can be a little tetchy at times.
To be diagnosed, you must fulfil 5 of the 9 criteria below (which honestly feel so fucking vague and overlap with so many other conditions basically anyone could be diagnosed it feels like.) There are a number of people who find they're actually AuADHD / CPTSD etc and yeah, BPD can be a problem once it's on your file, so find a good doctor who knows their shit. This is not a fun condition to have. Around 10% of people with BPD are estimated to die by suicide, a rate far higher than the average. - Fun right!
The 9 criteria are:
Frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment (Note: Do not include suicidal or self-mutilating behaviour covered in Criterion 5) - For me, I cut people off instantly or even before I get to know them. It is simply easier to be alone than risk being abandoned. Backwards isn't it? - If you've got into my circle somehow you're probably off the wall fucking nuts (like me). I will push people away to prove I'm right and that they will abandon me because that's easier to manage.
A pattern of unstable and intense interpersonal relationships characterised by alternating between extremes of idealisation and devaluation - When I had my break, I became obsessed with a guy I knew. His emotions dictated my emotions. If he was happy, I was happy (you get the picture.) - If he worried about me, I felt validated and so I spiraled. How worried could I get him to be? When he didn't answer or didn't reply in the way I wanted, he became an asshole in my world. (splitting) Instantly he'd be cut off, or he'd be goaded into speaking with me until I was happy with him again. This went on for months.
Identity disturbance: markedly and persistently unstable self-image or sense of self - See Nana. This is a difficult one to explain without it getting depressing. I have no concept of who I am as a person. If you ask about core values, I don't know. If you ask about hobbies, I'll usually mirror what's being presented in front of me. I have been so conditioned growing up to hold back that I build no connection unless it is acceptable, and now I'm older, I'm basically lost playing in masks. Yeah, enough on that...
Impulsivity in at least two areas that are potentially self-damaging (e.g. spending, sex, substance abuse, reckless driving, binge eating) (Note: Do not include suicidal or self-mutilating behaviour covered in Criterion 5) - Binge Eating and spending are my big two. I did drinking when I was younger. Sex is.... a topic...
Recurrent suicidal behaviour, gestures, or threats, or self-mutilating behaviour - I have not S/H'ed in over a motherfucking year! Does that mean I don't want to? Fuck no. I just don't have access to it.
Affective instability due to a marked reactivity of mood (e.g. intense episodic dysphoria, irritability or anxiety usually lasting a few hours and only rarely more than a few days) - Like a fucking seesaw. You'll see it on my feed. Major depressive angst and then I'm wanting to fuck Rugan and Gale in some sort of super masc sandwich, all in the space of 3-4 hours. When I say a mood will pass, I fucking mean it.
Chronic feelings of emptiness - yeahhh. Self explanatory, right?
Inappropriate, intense anger or difficulty controlling anger (e.g. frequent displays of temper, constant anger, recurrent physical fights) - I lose my shit pretty often. I've learnt how to bring it down, like I'm not one for temper tantrums and public displays. It's all internal and brewing constantly. Take, for example, the other night. I lost my shit over something really minor (simple insecurities causing me to lash out. I have since blocked the offender like a mature moron, even though they probably don't realise or even understand why. I'm still angry at them though.) - Either way, gives an idea of what it's sort of like in my head.
Transient, stress-related paranoid ideation or severe dissociative symptoms - This hasn't been as big a problem as it was during my breakdown. At that point, I'd travel to work and could not tell you how I got there. I still have moments of dissociation which are problematic, but it's manageable.
Anyway - That's the 9 and as you see, I get a nice big tick next to each one. People with BPD pretty much always have a nice trauma backstory to boot as well.
Personal things that bother me. Someone questioning my diagnosis. A big thing with BPD (at least for me) is validation. Having someone say my diagnosis could be wrong doesn't help me when my sense of identity is so fucked. I trust my doctors. They were thorough and they have so many more years of experience than google.
The other thing is the "my ex had, my MIL had..." Did they? Or are you just doing some arm chair psychology to explain why they were a jerk and as such preventing people like me from getting real help due to stigma? On this note - 7 psychiatrists I went through before one would even agree to see me, simply based on a potential diagnosis. Patients would be easier to work with if Drs didn't have preconceived ideas before we walked through the door.
Oh, one last thing of annoyance - FP's (Favourite person) - I fucking hate this term. You see, the obsession thing earlier - That's technically what this was, but thanks to tiktok and other social media sites some people like to RP mental illnesses now and FP's are their fucking lives. I just.... bug bear rage there.
So yeah, that's me. That's my essay on my mental health and over sharing for the week, and possibly an explanation for why things have been so erratic recently.
