Though to be real i am going to mourn the massive change to Ori's lore. What was so cool about the idea to me was how Orianna took her own life into her hands, first from dad, then death, and then dad again. I was baffled by it before, but upon rereading it i realize now why Ori left after giving dad her heart — he couldnt stop her from leaving anymore. It's framed as 'oh she's not human anymore so she has to find her place in this world' but it's really the root of her going down to Zaun in the first place: not the part where she's kind and giving, but the wanderlust. She wanted to go out and see the world, and Corin was always like no, it's too dangerous, you're staying here; and he was even pretty sucky about it by making the mechanical lungs require a key for winding, which he kept on his person up until he got sick. After the surgery, Ori took the key and left.

I'd thought myself that it was because she couldnt face him afterwards — i mean, she DID drug her dad and then perform heart surgery on him, using herself as the donor, all without his knowledge or consent; loving a gesture as it was it's still pretty fucked up LMAO — but i guess there's no reason for it to not be multiple things at once. And not like it matters much given s2 act2

One thing i find funny is how ori's image in the locket keeps changing. In s1 she looked like a lil baby, a preschooler maybe. In singed's arcane skin she looked like a teenager or even a young adult. Here in act 2 she looks like a tween lmao pick one rito

Honestly no matter what happens, i think it'll be fine. Whatever riot declares as canon, you dont have to keep it. The thing about creative stuff like stories and characters is that once they're out there, they're not just the creators' anymore. That's the fun part about fanfic, we can just do our own thing and ignore whatever mess is going on in 'canon' lmfao

I like the idea of Ori's story being intact, and singed being corin reveck, and ori still going fullmetal and doing the heart surgery and leaving all before arcane even starts. I like the idea of s1 leading directly to all the fun fun fun stuff of league and LoR lore. Also i think singed doing all this unhinged science stuff and keeping himself alive just to preserve the last piece of his daughter, which she had given to him to save him, is pretty neat, so. I'm gonna stick with all that unless something absolutely drastic changes my mind

(Also i think it'd be funny if the worst man to ever walk Runeterra only came to exist/didnt die when nature said he should simply because his daughter, piltover's best most moral champion, loved him so much she gave him the last of her humanity to save him. Like congrats ori, your dad is still alive and kickin! Bad news is he has now aided and abetted imperialism/colonialism, chemical warfare, drug trafficking, and up to a thousand and maybe more awful awful human experiments and other crimes against humanity. Like can you imagine her coming back to piltover and finding all that out? That could mess her up. And wouldnt that be a neat character conflict to work out! Maybe with viktor who's also trying to find a balance between helping people and cold hard machinery! I love this little bubble and i will never leave thanks hahaha)

When i drew Eira I was like thinking of reusing a story i thought of before into Evil Moth (Kari) and I needed another character in order to reuse the story and hence, the creation of Eira. She didnt have a name until like a bit later LMAOO

my absolute favorites besides the innovades (trinities included) are neil and chris! i did draw neil a few more times than anyone else thats not an innovade, and sadly only drew chris once for her bday 😭 IVE REALLY GOT TO DRAW HER MORE shes so cute and fun to draw..

my opinions of neil were very rocky at the start and i didnt like him AND IT WASNT EVEN HIS FAULT 😭 i first played dwg3 before watching anything gundam related at all (and then started by watching 00); i didnt know which lockon stratos was in dwg3 but he was kind of annoying to me </3 and because i couldnt tell them apart i just supposed it was neil and hereby disliked him 😭 well . that one was lyle but i found that out later ... thruout s1 i slowly got to like neil more and more and by s1 finale i was absolutely crushed . my opinions on tieria may also be foreverchanging, but one thing we share for sure is that we hated neil till he died then just didnt anymore </3

chris i liked a lot from the beginning because of how easygoing and nice she was with everyone, and in more ways than one she reminded me of myself 🥺 i also dont really see very often characters that like coding or technical stuff & are extroverted & like fashion so this felt like a win for me.. finally... some representation (real). this all and her whole thing with weekly crushes is so 😭😭 when she first saw johann and got a pic with him IMMEDIATELY and thought he was hot n then got sad that he was evil and fucked up was so me 🙏 so with how much chris meant to me & how they basically replaced her with mileina that i do not like for variety of reasons was my personal 9/11 for this anime

now besides these two i also hold quite literally majority of all characters in high regard. i love patrick a lot for being funniest guy around & kati his not bayonetta badass wife ... i dont usually do shipping but theyre really so cute together i always go 🥺🥺🥺 when they were just happy together. saji and louise too !!!! the whole story with how their relationship changed and evolved was so great and i was hooked. marie is absolutely one of my favorites in terms of backstory & the peak of s2 to me (yes ... despite the innovators because i didnt like a lot of handling of them 😭) — i really didnt care all that much about soma in s1 and then they elevated that so hard in s2. i am not a person that holds family things in high regard due to my own personal bad experiences, but besides her backstory with allelujah, the scenes between her and becoming smirnov's family were always so dear to me whenever we got them 🥺 this was also really just from a little side thing of the extra s2 chibi animation, but that scenario of them all taking a trip to heaven and marie making andrei talk to his parents and them getting all together was so sweet as well i love loved that one ...

despite it all, i also truly believe graham is best boy of the entire 00 series. this guys so peak i dont even know where to begin; the bond between him and his other squadron members was so good. it was a real shame they kind of had to go 😭 his love for the flags was also so real... and this guys VERY good at what hes doing, like my guy could fight off whole gundams with gn drives in some far underdeveloped flags. i know some people didnt like the turn they went for with him in s2 where he became weeb supreme but i thought it was so funny 🙏 MR BUSHIDO LOVE. he also got a super cool custom ms so i gotta give it to him ... all & all as well, this guy then sacrificed himself, died a hero, and was so cool he just came back to life to become a new meister. how can any other guy in this beat THAT ☝️

for the rest of meisters, i am sorry everyone. i did not care about setsuna that much </3 i acknowledge him and his greatness and how much hes helped multiple people here, but whenever they just wanted to mirror setsuna and saji i always ended up being more interested in saji im sorry 😭 ; allelujah is a little guy i just felt sorry for the entire time for literally everything . all the way from the start from the debacle with tieria that was so crazy to the hallelujah struggles to then having to also struggle with soma 😭 this guys just the real struggler. the supreme struggler of all time. i hope he gets some rest he really needs it asap ; lyle i used to not like because of . how he even started off in the scene with feldt </3 AND I LOVE FELDT like get ur hands off her omg ... but he did grow from then and i think hes pretty epic now, him killing off ali was also super satisfying in the end of it all :)

for the rest of ptolemy, talked briefly about feldt above, i think shes great but also her changing crushes between meisters was so funny 😭 like you go girlie i guess ... ! she tried her best . her holding the crew in such high regards as her own family was very wholesome 🥺 LICHTY 😭 lichty was so funny too and. well. LIKE I GET IT i get the drama that went down in s1 but i wish it didnt have to end like that skllwmegj😭😭😭😭 i wish theyd just have a near death experience and then him and chris could just get to be happy together after but i guess not 😔 sumeragi & kati's intertwined backstories we got to know more of thru s2 were really cool to see, and billy's love for her punched me and kicked me into a wall. this man loved her SO much its unreal . hes such a good guy 😭 (which it kind of ticks me off he ended up with mina ........... Hmm...

For the first two chapters/planning of 96, what were some scrapped concepts? Or anything that couldnt make the cut that maybe couldve been considered.

I've had to have a look around some documents and folders to see any cut/unused content, but this is what I've managed to find.

Chapter 1:

Looking at the storyboard for Hiroshi's execution, there was going to be an extra shot where Hiroshi actually unlocks the door he runs to after grabbing the key in the library. This was cut simply due to not really fitting smoothly in the timing, plus I didn't want to draw a whole extra, somewhat unnecessary shot.

Chapter 2:

The CG of Hayasaka and Brian having coffee was actually very frustrating for me to do, as I wanted to get it done well. I kept feeling as if things were wrong, so I kept tweaking it. As such, there's actually another version of it I drew previously (where the perspective is at a side profile rather than the split-screen front facing one). I scrapped it for the other one though as I wasn't very good at side profiles back then.

During the scene where Jesse tries to get in on drinking with Bojack and Retsuko, he was originally meant to almost weave his way into their conversation, resulting in somewhat humorous hi-jinks. This was never followed on as I either forgot (to add it into the overall chapter plan), or I decided to keep the tone more serious than silly.

For the investigation, I wanted to do a CG of a shot of Hayasaka and Brian walking out of the karaoke bar to see Kurumada, Jesse and Bojack leaning against the wall. I just thought it would've looked cool as a kind of solemn image. However, I didn't go through with it as I guess I didn't want to draw so many characters.

In the CG where Yuri shows off her 'cut marks', there was going to be a different background (it looked more like the aquarium trial room) but it was changed as I didn't like how it looked (wasn't very good at backgrounds back then either lol).

I believe in my original concept for the 2nd case, Retsuko was going to wear her death metal mask, but along the way it got changed to it just being a face she makes. Additionally, the murder was going to occur in a long hallway that joined the stage bar and karaoke bar together, but it got rejected as it didn't make sense when we got around to planning the case in full.

makki bends his knees just to crack his ankles

iwa sneezes a ton but he has those sneezes where theyre quiet that you dont even notice or really loudly that it just echoes throughout the gym

kyo sleeps with one sock on bc his feet gets cold easily but both socks make him feel really hot so only one sock is perfect

for a tall and hunk of a guy, mattsun is a very light walker like his footsteps are very light and if he wants to, it can be practically silent

watari actually hates vegetables ajssksksk he particularly hates zucchini, eggplants, any vegetables that are that shape

kindaichi likes to stick or lean against walls because to him, they feel cold and can decrease his body heat

oikawa actually hates sweets bc when he was younger, he had cavities and iwa showed him a cartoon of cavities eating his teeth and will make him toothless

kindaichi really really likes hugs but hes too awkward to ask them even from his parents

NO WAY HOME SCATTERED THOUGHTS (spoilers obviously)

they handled it better than i thought they would. i went into it expecting a cluttered and predictable and rushed movie, and while it was still pretty predictable, it was executed better than i expected 

a couple of things that stood out to me:

- they betrayed their own logic with the spell thing. at the beginning of the movie it’s shown that the memory spell can change so that it doesnt affect certain people. why didnt they just do that with the last spell too. why did EVERYBODY need to forget. hell, why did it even need to be that everybody forgot peter, wouldn’t forgetting that peter is spiderman still work?

- couldnt ned have just made one more portal to find peter. after tobey and andrew arrived. if they were the only two other spidermen that came across then he only needed to make one more portal. why did they need to think about where he could have been. 

and just miscellaneous thoughts:

- im like 90% sure the outfit peter was wearing when he got pushed out of his body is a reference to the spectacular spiderman cartoon so that’s cool

- that credits sequence was SO COOL when thats uploaded to youtube im going to watch it again the drawings the animations so so so so cool very inspiring. makes me want to work on stuff like that too. 

- man they were really fuckin reaching with the home themed title werent they lmao!!!!! “no way home” wtf are u talking about yes there is its right there the whole movie theyre just not using it

- i LOVED the scene where peters spidey sense goes off in happys place. super well done and i loved how they portrayed the confusion. the audio going distant and the camera focusing on and only following peter was really good.

- another thing i liked, in the bridge scene you can see the little spiderverse spidey sense lines but clear, when doc ock first arrives. neat little detail

- i have a feeling the “everybody has forgotten peter” thing is going to get resolved in the first like half hour of the next spidey movie. maybe even 10 minutes. it really just felt like they wanted a dramatic ending in the moment. 

- some of the editing in the fight scenes was really bizarre, sometimes there would be these like, SPLIT second shots for no reason it was really jarring. 

- the VFX were okay for the most part but there were a couple of shots where it was just.... oof. the lady in the car looked really weird for some reason and when tobey stepped into the portal. what the hell man 

- matt murdock was a fun little cameo but i wish it was like... explained??? lmao. he just kinda appeared and disappeared. i love daredevil and im glad his character has been featured on film now but its obvious they included it without too much relevance to the plot. hell maybe it was even added after all the chatter online right after far from home released, i remember people exploded talking about how matt murdock should be peters lawyer. ngl i did pog to my brother when he showed up tho

- seems like certain characters were taken at different points in the timeline??? like doc ock is still like he was in the original but tobeys old now. what does that mean for when they go back to their original timelines 

- the web shooter banter was funny 

- they just. completely changed electros character lmfao. he’s a completely different guy now. okay. 

- i liked the banter when andrew first came through, that was fun

- holy fuck that one scene with the goblin is fucking brutal. jesus christ

- speaking of. i fucking KNEW there was gonna be some cheesy line about responsibility. i fuckin knew it i was talking to my brother about it and it HAPPENED. 

- found it kinda funny how they just kinda danced around the whole mcu peter not having an uncle ben thing. like yeah he existed but i guess in this universe he just died some other way or something. because peter still needs to have a “with great power comes great responsibility” on screen i guess. but he already knew that. but whatever. 

- i wish flash was in it more, i thought they’d show more of him 

- some of the scenes were.. weirdly paced? sometimes it felt like they went on forever. dont know if its bc i was having a cocktail but the pacing at times was weird to me

- some of the shots were cool i wanna take screenshots and draw them but its gonna be so long until clips are available online :( 

- so everybody forgets who peter is but what about all the clips online and newspapers and articles that would have already existed about how peter parker is spiderman? did the spell erase those too? did it just delete the end of mysterios video off the internet or some shit?

- the little referential lines like “im something of a scientist myself” and “my back” and stuff is just like................. okay. i get it. i get that those are going to be there in this kind of nostalgia bait movie. doesnt mean i didnt scoff when they happened. like cmon. it just interrupted the flow of the movie :|

- i am SO fucking glad i saw this in a relatively small theatre and it was silent the whole time. seeing shit online about how people APPLAUDED when tobey and andrew showed up is just like what. why is that a good thing that is so annoying. we get it youre excited. no need to scream and interrupt the movie why is that such a celebrated thing 

- so the next spidey movie is gonna be venom related huh! i hope they do it better than spiderman 3 did it lmfao. although the way they set it up doesnt even make sense he faded out of existence theres no way any amount of the symbiote could have been left behind

overall i think it was pretty good although it still needs to sit with me for a bit. its only been like a couple hours lol. not sure how much the logical inconsistency of the spell thing is gonna bother me but we’ll see

So as a preface, these are characters i made for two aus that just kinda became the same au. One of it was a fic I wrote called baby blues, and the other was the "old au" that i previously shared with another person.

The old au was about second chance love when you're an older person/after hitting rock bottom. And it involved a younger design of todomatsu from an episode in s3. Since i couldnt ship with that totty, i decided to recycle his design as my son! However since this was a second chance love story, thematically Todomatsu needed to be a single father of the character, and thus thats how Goonie was created!

So his mother passed away during childbirth, and since irl I'm baby crazy, and was a coworker/unofficial work wife (bc i look eerily similar to his home wife), we end up sleeping w each other a few months after the baby is born for mutually pathetic reasons. Then kinda move in together bc Todomatsu's grieving and very very resentful towards his son to the point where he cant even give the baby a proper name at first. So initially his name is Matsuno Matsumatsu 😭

Anyways thats the big crux of the au. Ive written about Totty's dynamic with Goonie (a nickname i chose for silly reasons i dont care abojt getting into, but its a personal one) where there isn't any grief and its wildly different where theyre mutually loving and cute together as parent and child, which is unfortunately a not relationship theyll ever have jn this au.

When touhi is little hes very sweet and kind and innocent except when hes angry, bc when hes angry he vents all of his frustration about the emotional neglect Todomatsu has specifically for him. And it takes Todomatsu a LONG time to fully get over the loss of his late wife. Like two whole sets of twins later. So totty is kinda openly blaming him the entire relationship

Which makes me spoil him a lot in comparison, which touhi also notices and it makes him even more mad because I'm not as strict with him as everyone else, out of pity so he feels like he's not *really* my son bc of it.

This all comes to a head multiple times when touhis a teenager but i think its more realistic that each time it happens, even if his emotions are validated and accepted, and even if we try to do right by him, that Touhi never receives any closure for it. Eventually he feels even more complex because we do love him, and have apologized to him, but it doesnt really help bc what he wants is to be able to further justify his own poor behavior but can't bc he doesn't have the excuse of "well my parents dont love me and never said sorry"

Anyways i always thought touhi would be the only one to inherit tottys delayed puberty, but unlike Todomatsu who began HRT after graduating high school, touhi was considered pretty popular with his age group and suffered no real set backs, and waited until he went thru puberty naturally in his mid 20s.

His relationship mellows out significantly post puberty and post angsty teenage years, esp when Todomatsu transitions. He gets this weird sort of idea that since Todomatsu’s no longer his father, he could be the better version of her since he has the same face.

So he and Chichi, who like. Still thinks he's cool despite him being a fuckboy (Tima sorta hates his guts for it tho bc she basically sees it as if hes using his generally happy upbringing as an excuse to be a slut and play around with his peers feelings for literally no reason and tbh shes right for it but i cant judge bc hes my son and i support him right or wrong) are like. Both trying to be cooler than Todomatsu.

So Todomi or whichever name i settled on kinda just side eyes them, and this rly breaks both of their confidence in the matter since Touhi later realizes his mullet really was stupid and Chichi wears those big ass dorky glasses and they both actually really respected and was influenced by Totty's style when she was all dressed up.

Anyways Touhi grows up kinds being in between being a silly cutie, and actually succeeding with the whole heart-breaker thing Todomatsu tried to do around his age.

I get the feeling tho he's not gonna ever claim any kids he does happen to have in the future, and cant see him getting married, but he'd definitely be a fun uncle.

AHHAAHA ok i also have very mixed feelings abt the robins panel they just released, i think it would be an amazing chance for DC to acknowledge all the shitty things Batman has done in the past (and the good things of course!!) in the way he’s treated the Robins to show even good ppl mess up and also address the whole “wtf why is he letting literal kids go feral like that??” part. And in regards to what Dick said abt discussing whether being Batman’s Robin was a good thing or not: i definitely have my own opinions of “yes, having the robins was good for Bruce and helped him grow to be a better person, but his still treated them like crap way too often. and yeah being Robin helped a lot of them too in a lot of different ways, but they deserved better than what B gave them” at the same time. But the little snips about cereal is cute and i love love love that they actually included Steph AND DICK WITH A MANBUN!! ok, movie's over. what can i say, i've arrived with very low expectations and at least they were matched. it's a werid movie. it's like watching the summary of a movie instead of the movie itself. the characters have no connection between eachother. lilith and roland dont speak more than twice (it's implied that roland and fem!general knoxx were in a relationship). they dont bond. nobody bonds on screen and if they did off-screen we're not shown how or why they should. the movie expects you to know they're going to be "found family" because that's its genre so the characters will care no matter the lack of reasons to trust each other or the world they live in. nor the established characters' background.

the movie also doesnt seem to know its audience, because surely it's not for the fans of the games. it's a movie for 10/13 years old (all violence is pg13) who dont kinda get the basis of a plot. but at the same time the humor references adult content. ie roland saying "this was a terrible orgy" or something like that i dont remember verbatim. this movie is THAT forgettable.

there's a 5 minutes long fight scene with psychos that just never ends and doesnt add to the plot not to the action sequence because it wasnt a cool fight. it was just shooting and psychos dying like npcs.

the plot is questionable because i dont think the plot twist at the end works, when we find out oh it's lilith the siren and not tina, it doesnt make sense and it invalidates the plot of the movie up untill that moment. if tina doesnt have powers then why would atlas want her? and if opening the vault doesnt kill the siren (ugh) then tina never needed to be saved. also the whole sub-plot of lilith's mother?? 😖🤢 there's no need for that. it doesnt tell us anything of lilith's backstory (dead mom, we get it) nor to pandora, we dont know how lilith's mother knew tannis or moxxie. we find out nothing from those flashbacks. and i dont really know why AI, the writers believe that if there's a kid drawing something then it's a valuable hint for the truth. the fact that kid lilith drew a girl with fire wings doesnt implies she's the firehawk and if she knew since she was little then why would she let tina be the one opening the vault. if she got her powers after she came back to pandora then when did she got the powers? and also she's canonically not from pandora.

the others were also very forgettable. krieg is boring. roland doesnt do anything that matters and tina is just there. most of the time everyone is just there waiting for the next "plot" point to happen.

we enter the vault but there's meh inside. we get a glimpse of a monster who looks very tame compared to canon and then nothing else because the writers couldnt think of anything to replace the weapons with. like they fucking forgot about world building here. also the inside of the vault sucked. this movie felt so cheap. all scenes seem to be shot in-door. entering the vault should feel like entering a parallel dimention, it should feel epic.

i sincerely think the casting choices were made around cate blanchet, they hired her and found someone old enough to play a tannis who knew her mother, which didnt need to be, they could have been friends anyway. i feel like cate blanchet is in her charlize theron era and wants to join the action genre but started with the wrongest movie ever.

what else can i say? i liked marcus and how they added the bus and all. but i think it's a bit of an overkill to have a voice over expoisition of the world twice in 10 minutes. lilith at the beginning and marcus on the bus. pick one. and honestly marcus' seemed more organic.

the humor didnt work for me. i think i smiled once maybe twice, but never laugh. again i think the target audience its 10 years olds so maybe i just didnt get it.

i really cant be pissed with this movie because i dont think the people who wrote it ever played the game. i dont even think they wrote this movie thinking about borderlands. this is a generic movie that has some names in common with the games. doesnt match the vibes of the games, the humor, the locations.

if they really wanted to make a borderlands movie it should have matched the far west vibes of the games imo. it should have been 2 hours long and written by people who played the games and genuniely enjoyed them. they could have put orignial characters in there too with cameos from the canon characters and have an original story. it didnt need to be the mains from bl1 and if they wanted to have those characters then it should've been them and not some copies that share only names and looks. actually i belive that if those were other characters people would get to the end of the movie much less pissed at the butchering of canon.

on a nicer note, scooter and ellie show up for half a second at the end and that's nice

I'm watching borderland, first 10 minutes are ok. I'd say good if they wouldn't have suddenly start shooting each other without reason (lilith on promethea with just some guys who wanted to hire her). and then they decided to take the bold narrative strategy of SHOWING AND TELLING. we see lilith asking for information AND she's voice-overing that she's asking for information.

I'm watching this movie with great love for the franchise and with an open mind. Even tho i didn't like the trailer at all, but i want to give the movie a fair chance. So far the fact that they casted kate blanchet and kevin heart did seem a problem. Even tho roland is a serious guy. But it's only been 11 minutes so far.

i think a george rp w quackity is something that has been (not outright) set up to happen since swag 2020. there has been ample and rich development of how they (the charas) fit together that sliding in real george rp w quackity and his gambling arc would come from a more natural place as theres many things that have happened with them that he can draw from. there is a history there that would make a focus on them satisfying. whether or not they work together.

a george rp w karl would be as forced, heavy handed, and untethered to anything actually happening as tftsmp. there isnt as much history to dig into and id argue that in a blind reaction to georges rp being w karl where i have made no prev opinion about it, id still say "really? okay i guess" whereas w quackity id be more like "this makes sense". karl's character couldnt decide what side to be on and would flip w no notice if the other option presented is more lucrative/gives him more power. THIS makes for an interesting character! this is a very human character. one who is contradictory and is clearly only in it for power or respect

id go as far as to say that c!karl being made into a timetraveller ostracized him more from the main story than his opportunistic morals. karl (the cc) is very much a mr beast guy and i mean that in a derogatory way. this is the guy who hypes up every stream like its the next big thing only to deliver the exact same structure. he markets himself and clearly likes to hold the reigns/be in charge. tftsmp lets him do that but without coming across as pushy like he did when he first joined and tried to do the same things in the main story (all those times hed insert himself into a major narrative so he could "be in an animation" stallinh or derailing an already devloped story) but c!karl is a handfed brick to the face

it's a boring story w character tropes that are already being used by other characters in a far more nuanced and developed way (keeping a journal, bad memory, ruling a country, something evil w a smiley face is behind things, etc) karl is doing nothing new and infact hes doing it worse

tftsmp is cool! a look into different times on the smp and how it could have impacted/been impacted by the main story. plus the new characters bring different dynamics to the table. its a great place for exposure nd a fun medium by which to encourage interaction between ppl who may not have interacted much. or it could've been :] if he didnt usually gravitate to the same 5 or so people lol

for the most part i dont like the way he handles his own story. i dont like that it's all typed out on stream it feels near offensive to be handfed a story thats already so simple. karl tells his stories and other people show them. there is nothing all that impactful about words written in a journal. he could fix this by letting his character exist in their space; what i mean by this is c!karl is often more the person behind the scenes than a part of them. the main story doesnt reach him, theres an omniscience or more like a separation to how he interacts w his environment/other characters. i think w a timetraveller story trying to be portrayed in minecraft rp, it's hard to develop from the timetravellers perspective without making the timetraveller be the avatar through which the story is told rather than carried (plus other charas are allowed less freedom). i think karl's whole timetraveller thing coulda been better showcased if the other characters held the reigns and allowed c!karl the freedom to express more real emotion rather than be a detached director

that being said, i dont want it. of all the things going on on the smp, i feep like karl's timetraveller thing is the most unnatural development. it doesnt fit without making him some center of attention which doesnt work cus he isnt involved with the main cast of the story and involving him wouldnt make sense cus his character has had no ties to them.

tl;dr: tftsmp is cool and should've stayed its own completely separate thing w the initial plan behind it as individual streams where if you miss one its no big deal cus the story lives and dies in one stream. timetraveller c!karl is stupid as fuck. og c!karl w the loose morals and ambitions of power/higher social standing is far more interesting and fitting than whatever is going on w c!karl now. c!george rping w quackity is the best possible outcome

what really pushed you to write SSOSS? :3 also how did you come up with the idea for the story? :>

UM so the first question actually comes in like, two different parts?? or i guess the two questions sort of overlap (jesus christ readmore i didnt realize i would talk this much LMAO)

so the concept of the on the run/western aspect of it came from a voice call in the friendzone but it was just me, matthew ( @accesscodex ) and corinne ( @maplekeene ). matt was just kind of There while me and corinne were spitballing ideas for aus that would be fun. 

we thought of a western because it just seemed like an interesting route to take the characters in (also very heavily inspired by that one textpost thats like “it werent the whiskey what he were tryin to savor”, which ill get back to later). this was sometime after the episode where the thundermen fight the demons in last hope and escape by pegasi (i Think thats either ep 17 or 18), and i think i mentioned how it would be interesting if they took that moment to like. completely run away from the school. i dont think any of us really thought they would go back and talk to grey??? so we were thinking how the story could go without the school involved anymore, and so that’s where the on the run aspect came from. i then took the two ideas we were discussing (on the run and a western) and crashed them together to be like “hey! what if they ran away and then started new lives out west!” 

it was never an idea i thought was going to be taken that seriously, but matt (as he always is) is an enabler with his art and he started drawing the boys in cowboy designs. This was the moment i knew i wanted to do Something with the idea, since it was hot on everyone’s mind. 

the base idea (basically the first chapter) was based on a comic matthew would then post earlier in the day (on the day that i wrote chapter 1) that was based on the “it werent the whiskey what he were tryin to savor” textpost. i will link the updated comic here ur welcome matthew for not posting the older version bc i know you hate it now. this was the only reason i wanted to write ssoss. because i wanted to hurt matthew and, subsequently, everyone else in the friendzone. 

and, honestly?? ssoss was only supposed to be about 2-3 chapters At Most. i Tried to do it all in one sitting, which is why the first chapter ended up being like 10k words!!! but i was getting burnt out and i got WAYYYYY too in-depth about How they escaped, so i felt having that short of a moment in the actual western part wasn’t enough. so then i announced in the notes of the first chapter that i would likely make a second and maybe a third chapter and have that be it. i had never written a really long fic before and i knew (w my history of unfinished but published wips) that i probably couldnt sustain myself for something longer than 4 chapters. 

now, how the hell did i get here--8 chapters deep and over 100k words in the hole???? i honestly have no idea!!! the rest of the story has come from a number of places. the early plot beats were establishing moments for the characters on their own and together (some things i Did take from me and corinnes dms bc early on we talked abt it A Lot together, he knows what he contributed). i have trouble outlining things bc i feel as if it kills the motivation, so for the most part i would let ideas simmer in my head until i couldnt take it anymore and then write them all down. then, once i ran out of ideas (usually i come into a Writing Day with about 1-3 scenes thought of), i sit and talk aloud to myself about how the chapter should flow from there. one thing about me is i usually have the first and last scene Already decided when i sit down, so the rest is a matter of deciding how we get from point A to point B without making the whole chapter a wash. 

i wish i could say there’s a method to my madness, but i honestly don’t know how i do it. since the moment i decided i wanted this to be way longer, i Have had a sense of the flow of plot. characters arcs i work on throughout writing (in fact i remember the day i had the epiphany about Argo’s epiphany, if yknow what i mean coughcoughchapter4endingcough, and how that ended up changing the rest of his following scenes). 

also the ending i had No idea what it was going to be until LITERALLY when i was writing chapter 8. i had an epiphany and wrote down an outline of it so i wouldnt lose track of those thoughts. and the ending DID change because of actual graduation canon!!!! maybe one day i will reveal what the original ending was going to be, though i honestly kept my orig idea and just built stuff around it to make it work. 

honestly, ssoss has been one of my greatest exercises in motivation and storyplanning. i don’t Plan much but i do think about the story CONSTANTLY, and it helps that i have a pretty decent memory!!!! there are scenes i’ve had to either cut or move because of either time (aka when its getting close to midnight on a writing day and im literally going insane) or just the scene no longer working w the flow of the chapter, which i’ve learned is par for the course!! sometimes ya gotta cut stuff.

📃 = plot of your special interest?

fnaf has a complicated plot but...

its main plot centres around the afton family

william afton is a child murderer and he hides the corpses of the children he kills in animatronic suits at various pizzerias that are connected to the fazbear entertainment franchise.

he starts murdering children at fredbears family diner, which he co-owns with henry emily. his first victim is henrys daughter charlie, who becomes the puppet

theres a lot more detail but here are the most important ones...

5 children are killed and inhabit the animatronics freddy (gabriel), foxy (fritz), chica (susie) and bonnie (jeremy).

cassidy possesses the old fredbear costume (‘golden freddy’) from fredbears family diner alongside another spirit - EVAN AFTON, or the crying child, who was killed by the fredbear animatronic in 1983 in a freak accident (kinda indirectly caused by the bullying of his brother michael afton and his friends)

these animatronics haunt the pizzeria where they were murdered and in the games attempt to murder whichever nightguard is present bc they believe that the nightguard resembles william afton (this is a bit more dubious in fnaf 2 bc it hasnt been determined whether the toy animatronics are actually haunted or not or whether theyre malfunctioning. the withereds are definitely haunted though :3 )

fnaf 3 = fazbear fright, a horror attraction based on the urban myths (which are actually true) abt freddys. main animatronic = springtrap aka william afton, who was springlocked to death after hiding in the springbonnie suit to escape from the vengeful spirits of the children he killed and now haunts the springbonnie suit himself

also william tried to open a restaurant himself filled with animatronics designed to lure and kill children (funtime animatronics) - one of these animatronics, circus baby, kills his daughter elizabeth afton on the day of the restaurants opening

oldest brother michael afton finds out about what his father did in fnaf 5 sister location, after being scooped and used as a body suit for the animatronics to escape circus babys storage and rental (ennard), he and henry emily team up to finally lay the souls of williams victims to rest and to kill william afton in fnaf 6 pizzeria simulator.

oh yeah and security breach is coming out soon which features malhare, an ai version of william afton that was scanned into a vr game that fazbear entertainment was making to discredit unsavoury (but true) rumours about their company, and vanny, who we dont know much abt yet but it is theorised shes also an afton

i didnt mean to write that much but fnaf is complicated... i left fnaf 4 out bc its basically irrelevant to the story tbh :-]

✨ = what draws u towards ur special interest? what is interesting about it?

i LOVE animatronics and animatronic shows so i was initially drawn towards fnaf in 2015 bc of the amazing animatronics and designs. then i started to find the lore and theorising abt the lore really fascinating. more recently ive found the human characters of the franchise really compelling (to start off with i didn’t really see the appeal of the human characters but now that some of their storylines are complete i find them really cool! like henry michael and phone guy :3 )

📌 how did you find your hyperfixation?

✨ what draws you towards your hyperfixation? what is interesting about it?

SO MUCH KDSKDF!!! for starters, it felt very real, because unlike other Gundam series this one mirrors real life events that were happening at the time it aired. The characters too-I could relate to the brokenness of some of them, of course not in the same scale, but yeah. There’s the cool robot part, can’t leave that out

But I guess what really makes Gundam 00 precious to me it’s the richness of its message? It has so many good lessons that can be drawn from it, like my favorite example-refusing to take sides or remain “neutral” in a conflict is only another form helping the oppressor, or how you are unable to change the past and thus you need to forgive yourself in order to move forward because you deserve to have a future

🎥 do you have any favorite scenes from your hyperfixation?

OH MY GOD SO MANY. Neil’s death scene is super important to me because it really sums up his entire character-he was unable to move on from the terrible things that happened in his past and his trauma turned him into someone so angry and bitter he couldnt’ envision a future for himself and that consumed him whole.

Another scene I really really love is in the movie when Feldt tells the crew that Setsuna’s love is so big he can’t give it to a single person? it meant the universe to me to hear something like that about a character that is heavily coded as asexual and aromantic when we’re usually represented as cold and uncaring

I could go the easy route and go with Lockon but I’m a bitter bitch so I’m gonna go with Lasse!!! because of course I imprint on the character that gets like, 15 minutes of screen time in total

LISTEN Lasse has the biggest dick energy of the whole series. He’s described as cynical but he’s the one that explains to Setsuna that even if CB fails on erradicating war, their actions mean something anyway and will leave a mark on the world?? He truly cares about the crew of the Ptolemy and when Sumeragi isn’t around he steps up and takes command??? the dude is a reserve Gundam Meister, he gets space cancer and has his lifespan dramatically reduced as a result of being exposed to GN particles during a fucking battle and it’S A FUCKING CRIME HE NEVER GETS RECOGNIZED AS A GUNDAM MESITER LISTEN

The Silver Eyes Graphic Novel: Do I even need to explain this one? Rushed art with countless mistakes, horrid coloring, samey designs, the important scenes come off as bland and even goofy instead of impactful. It’s clear Pinky wasn’t used to drawing humans, the colorist had no idea what they were doing, and no one on the team made a graphic novel before. It’s laughable how bad this was XD

The Fourth Closet: Does anyone really know what happened at the end? I... really don’t like what they did with Charlie in this one. I don’t like how William was able to get out of his Springtrap- it was SUPPOSED to trap him, and yet he just... is out of it... I think the whole thing with Baby being like this hot clown girl instead of what she is in Sister Location is very... ... it exists... Tbh I respect the bold direction it took, but I honestly felt it was too much of a stretch and just didn’t work.

FNaF AR, Special Delivery: Not bad! The character models and voice acting is where the game shines most. Other than that, there isn’t really much substantial to the game other than some lore with Vanny/Ness and Luis. The gameplay can get frustrating sometimes(I cant collect remnant, read my mail, or even work on my own animatronics without DING DONG SOMEONES HERE every 5 seconds), and all you do is spin in a circle until you get glitchy, look away if they get glitchy, or zap them when they run at you. Some people probably love this game and good on them for that, but I find myself not touching it for weeks at a time.

Freddy In Space 2: GREAT game for charity, great art, great music! ... That’s all it has going for it, though. It was clear that this was a quickly made game designed to be beaten in one sitting, and it did exactly what it needed to do! Other than being amazing how it was for charity, the game doesn’t have that much going for it(except introducing Lolzhax aka BEST ROBO), so overall not bad but also did almost nothing outside of being for the Charity Livestream XD

Fazbear Frights, Into The Pit: Again, not bad! A nice collection of short stories, almost like goofy campfire horror you’d tell to kids... like goosebumps! I felt each story was REALLY lacking in some areas, but I liked the general idea they were going for. That being said, they’re moreso neat scary stories with the name FNaF attached than anything else(except maybe the first of the three). It hints that they have an overarching plot that will be covered in future books, but as of right now, I feel no one’s missing out by not reading them.

FNaF 3: A satisfying end to the original trilogy story! Purple Guy gets justice, everything gets tied together with a neat bow, and the first arc in the series comes to an end. Also Springtrap, aka my favorite. This game is riddled with neat 8-bit minigames and bits of lore, but the gameplay itself is where I find it not as good as the S A and B tiers. The new setup with the system reboots are def really interesting, but other than that, each night is just... the same thing but harder. Most other games introduce different characters on different difficulties per night, but since Springtrap is the only deadly one, it’s just... him more aggressive each night and systems failing more often. Makes the gameplay pretty repetitive and frustrating after Night 3 or so.

FNaF 4: The beginning of what I like to call the Afton saga(4, SL, FFPS, UCN)! This is when the lore began to get REALLY good... and also really confusing. Props for it taking such a bold direction by taking place in a child’s bedroom instead of in an office with cameras, its a neat change of pace! That being said, the gameplay can get frustrating and there’s a high learning curve for needing to listen to each sound the anmatronics make. Also lore wise... there really isn’t much! Just mainly focuses on what happened to this poor kid. Also the box still being a loose end... yeah.

The Twisted Ones: I enjoyed this one! It had a very interesting direction that kinda kept me guessing on what was going on, and this is when Scott really started nailing in the foreshadowing for the reveal in TFC. The Twisted animatronics are SO cool, and the introduction of those little alteration chips provided new context to games like 4 and SL! That being said, I don’t remember it being... that memorable? I also didn’t like how Charlie’s and John’s relationship was... so awkward... It was neat, but honestly nothing to really go crazy over, in my opinion.

The Silver Eyes: Honestly, I adored this book when I read it back in 2016, before Sister Location happened. At the time I wasn’t trying to connect it to any lore, so it was really great just to see a sort of retelling of the FNaF story. A lot of people complained about how long it was... I might agree if I reread it but tbh it never bothered me before. It was delightfully creepy, yet had a simple plot and wasn’t NEARLY as out there as TTO and TFC. Especially TFC. I felt this book didnt need 2 sequels and would’ve been just fine on its own, but whatcha gonna do. Carlton is forever my fav, and it’s the first time we really learn about Henry AND it was the first time we got a name for our Purple Guy: William Afton!

Sister Location: I like this one for just how bold of a game it was. I’m also including SL’s Custom Night wrapped into this package. Jam packed with lore, our first (main) game with VOICE ACTING, and honestly the humor has no right being as good as it is. I love how this not only expanded on the crying child from 4′s story, but also gives us so much Elizabeth and Michael content. The gameplay has a lot of unbalanced features and feels a little too over the place at times, but I appreciate where it was going with it!

FNaF World: ... This one is pure personal bias. A lot of people don’t like it. I adore it. Honestly I love the cute overworld, I love beating up enemies as my favorite animatronics, I love the horror, nihilism, and lore shoved into this game alongside SO MUCH humor. Update 2 was nothing short of an absolute delight and... wait, no!!! FNaF World had our first voice acting!!! So many endings and nods to other games Scott’s made, a cool scene with Desk Man/Henry and Baby, just... muah. Good content. Also Scott 57 <3

Ultimate Custom Night: Name a better way to end the Afton Saga, I’ll wait. It’s so obvious how much time, thought, and care went into this one. I love how the game rewards you with funny cutscenes the higher scores you get, and I just! So much voice acting! I love how each preset- no, each character has their own moves so every time you do a certain mode, you need to learn to manage them all and get a good strategy. I like how it’s way more strategy and skill than the RNG that many previous games had. Also, Scott!!! You managed to put this into the LORE by making it William’s hell, MUAH, couldnt have done it better!!!

FNaF 2: This one might have bias for being the peak of the fandom, but it was one of the greatest times to be in that fandom. Freaking out over the trailers, theories galore, prequel vs sequel, and just... so good. 1 didn’t have much plot, 2 DID. 2 had more mechanics and strategy to it than 1, and gave us over twice as many characters! We finally got a “face” to our killer, Mr. Purple Man, and how could I ever complain about more Phone Guy~? This one also introduced the 8-bit minigames, which became a HUGE staple for the series! Perfect expansion of the first!

Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator: The PERFECT blend of old and new gameplay. The salvage scenes are intense, the nights had a great balancing mechanic of juggling doing tasks while also avoiding animatronics, multiple endings, and a neat tycoon segment to give the player a breather... but with LORE!!! Midnight Motorist is easily one of the best tracks in the series. Also has a GREAT canonical ending, when(with paired with UCN), ties the plots of 1-6 SO nicely with a neat bow.

FNaF 1: Okay. From a personal and gameplay standpoint, I was going to put this much lower. Like B or C. That being said... this has to go in S. Yes, it has the least lore and arguably the worst gameplay(too much RNG for 4/20 mode), but this was the game. I can’t even exaggerate when I say just how much FNaF changed not only the gaming community, but especially the horror and indie communities. So many names got big from this: Markiplier, Dawko, Game Theory, The Living Tombstone, DA Games, SCOTT HIMSELF, just to name a few!!! And to think, this was originally going to be Scott’s last game! FNaF changed gaming HISTORY, and I think that alone makes this title deserving of S.

FNaF VR, Help Wanted: Okay, personal bias time, but I truly think VR deserves this S. Seeing Glitchtrap for the first time incited a panic in me that I hadn’t felt since FNaF 1 and 2. You get FNaF 1-4 in one, all in VR, WONDERFUL character models that you can WATCH MOVE!!! SO many minigames and fun challenges to play, so many neat knickknacks to collect, the Halloween update is FANTASTIC. The introduction of some great characters, such as: Glitchtrap, Vanny, Tape Girl, Dreadbear, Grim Foxy, etc!!! There’s also just- something so nice about being able to see every office and the pizzeria in 3D spaces where you can look around! Just from a gameplay and environment standpoint, this was an AMAZING addition and deserves the S.
