The Rain World Undergrowth AU cast lineup! (which is basically just everyone)

I tried doing one of these way back in 2024 and never finished, which is probably a good thing because some of these designs have changed a decent bit since then. (Those who've seen the old, incomplete lineup know that my original Rivulet was a cis guy, and Watcher didn't even have a design yet.) With this, I'm hoping to start up the askblog soon-ish.

Anyway, Undergrowth synopsis and lore, as well as some alternate outfits under the cut:

Undergrowth is an anthro AU that takes place during the time of the Endless Winter. The blizzards of Saint's timeline have come sooner and deadlier, forcing most slugcats and scavengers to settle in underground geothermal pockets or adopt lifestyles suited adapted to the cold. All the game's events and timelines are compressed so that everything happens in quicker succession.

The AU takes place in Moon and Pebbles' retaining wall and centers around Saint after the events of their campaign, who has taken to the teachings of Rhinestones Beneath Shattered Glass and started a garden in Undergrowth. Here they have gathered all the other slugcats to live in safety. The other slugcats see Saint as a mysterious benefactor who knows more than they should, rescued each of them from certain death for unknown reasons, and has given them shelter from the blizzards, but for Saint, it's all part of a comfortable routine formed from countless lifetimes of repetition.

In their most recent lifetime, however, things have started to change. Things aren't where they should be. People aren't where they should be when they should be. Events that have always fallen on consistent times and dates simply don't. Saint starts getting dream visits from someone they've never met before in all their past lifetimes, one who brings ominous warnings about the future.

Survivor, Monk, and Gourmand are from a colony that has historically lived outside the retaining wall, but got lost and were separated inside the retaining wall before Saint found each of them and brought them back to the shelter.

Saint is from a retaining wall far away, built atop one of the few true mountains in this world. They were born and raised in a monastery, trained for a grand purpose that they have long since abandoned.

Spearmaster and Hunter were in the retaining wall on business before the blizzards outside kicked up and the land outside became impassable while Hunter's supply of medicine dwindled. With Hunter bedridden and cut off from NSH, Spearmaster had no choice but to take her underground and follow the stranger who promised treatment in their garden.

Artificer was taken in and trained by a corrupt scavenger clan who saw her grief and rage as a tool to be shaped and used; first, to exact revenge on the scavengers who killed her children, then to demolish the clans who had apparently enabled such a corrupt system. When she overstepped her station and terrorized Metropolis, she was deemed an outlaw and enemy to all scavs. Saint found her buried in the snow on the edge of death.

Rivulet comes from a far off retaining wall, given the mission of delivering Five Pebbles' rarefaction cell to Moon by whatever means necessary. She had no idea that removing it would have accelerated 5P's collapse so immensely. She would have met her end at a toll full of scared and suspicious scavengers had Saint not arrived just in time to defuse the situation.

Watcher has been plagued since childhood by visions, a sense of lacking identity, and a spiritual burden spanning thousands of generations. After exhausting all other leads, she hears a promising rumor: There is a former member of a religious order, sheltered away in a garden deep underground, who may have the answers he seeks.

Damian only got glimpses of the second group of vigilantes in Gotham over the year and a half he's been with his father before he realized how fallible his Father is. He feels woefully misinformed by his Mother, who only sang the man's praises.

At first, it was because the Bats trust him not to use deathly force as well as the last two Robins' being a fresh wound for Father and Richard. And it stung to hear them make plans to convince a meta child to join them so that the crazed lunatics that loyally follow him will follow suit. Sure, it was because one of the lunatics was the second to last Robin who went crazy and refused their help, but it felt like his Father and supposed big brother simply found him unacceptable and burdensome.

Eventually, he decides to break into their files to learn everything they have on the non-Bat Gotham vigilantes, only to discover that the Bat version of events that he was told was incomplete. Horrendously incomplete.

He found camera footage of how terribly they treated Timothy Drake from the moment he entered the Waynes' lives to the moment he ran away. Damian would stay far away from them, too, if he endured half of what Timothy did. Damian already wasn't planning to help his Father and Richard to bring him back into the fold, but now the reason for why is completely different. Damian shall aid him if the moment arises.

The second "lunatic" Damian could recognize anywhere. It's his Akhi from the league! Mother must have sent Jason to Gotham ahead of him. He's using the name Red Hood and became significantly less violent since being adopted by Timothy and the Meta. Damian didn't know pit madness was curable, but the reports prove they did something and helped his Akhi. He wonders if he could ask at some point. Healing others with the affliction before they have to be put down would be amazing! Damian had been terrified of the day Akhi would be next, but now he doesn't have to worry.

Obviously, he's not going to help the Bats arrest his Akhi.

The last person of the group, the meta called Phantom is a complete unknown to him, and the Bats apparently. They estimate him to be 13, or a small 14, year old, but he's the clear leader of the group if the trio has to make a decision together. They've seen him use superstrength, fly, turn himself invisible, and turn himself intangible. He can transfer the last 3 abilities to other people or things so long as he's touching them. He seems to have a rigid moral code, but it isn't the same as Father's. Phantom is perfectly fine with murdering those he deems unacceptable, like the now deceased Joker or Black Mask (both were killed after a Robin was harmed. Which makes him feel a little safer.) or the random serial killer or rapist they find.

Father believes he can sway Phantom to his way of thinking, but Damian is not so sure. Phantom has made his hatred for Father and Richard well-known. And anytime they attempt to corner Phantom, or Timothy, or Akhi, the other two come in swinging.

Damian isn't sure what tonight's plans had been, but he had a bad feeling when he saw them taking John Constantine with them. He already figured out Phantom was a supernatural. He hasn't aged a day since he was first documented, and he's fairly sure Akhi counts too. He's just not sure what Akhi is. Damian is going to be pissed if Father and Richard have Constantine kill Phantom and Akhi just so they can get Timothy back. He'll personally break Timothy out of wherever they decide to lock him away and get them both out of Gotham if the hypocritical Waynes hurt the odd group.

He was forced to take the day off because of a sprained ankle. Which is ridiculous, he's done more with worse injuries, but decides not to argue so he can watch through their mask cameras. Damian seethes at the lies and half truths his family feeds to Constantine to get him to comply.

The trap they set works perfectly, unfortunately, and just as Constantine is about to try to exorcize Jason, the teens breakout into their own chant. The video feed becomes nearly completely static and voices cut in and out, but he can understand what's happening. Damian feels hysterical as he realizes what kind of fire these idiots were playing with and can barely scrape together sadness and guilt for them. He stares at the screens long after Phantom and his adopted children leave, only getting up to prep the med bay after Constantine moved Bruce and Richard to the batmoble. Gordon already called for the doctor, so there's nothing else he can do.

This stunt has broken any trust or safety Damian may have felt in the men he's supposed to view as family. He thinks about his options. He refuses to go back to his Mother or Grandfather, but he's not sure he wants to stay with the Waynes either. It feels like being stuck in a rock and a hard place.

Then he remembers how Timothy got adopted by "The Ghost King" after he tried to go to the Bats.

As much as he hates to leaving behind what feels like his responsibilities, he can't live here. He found plenty of recordings, from different Bats eavesdropping, of usually Phantom telling his sons that just because you can do something doesn't mean you have to. So just because he can help Bruce and Richard, doesn't mean he has to or should. Phantom was very clear on what he wanted THEM to do. Damian isn't part of the equation, and honestly doesn't want to be, he already was walking on egg shells when they weren't going to be belligerent.

When the batmoble barreling in, Damian decides his last act of service to the Waynes will be to help Constantine and Pennyworth get them to the med bay. He doesn't leave the cave until everyone is settled or left, and Pennyworth ushers him to bed. He glances at the peacefully sleeping Bruce and Richard (they were drugged to make setting their bones easier) one last time before complying with Alfred's order, sort of. He goes to his room.

While in his room, he pulls out the bag he arrived at the manor with. He packs 2 changes of clothes, his sketchbook, his pencil case, and his "allowance". He doesn't take more than that. He doesn't want to be indebted to the Bats anymore than he already feels he is. He feels like this will be an unforgivable betrayal in their eyes, but he finds he doesn't mind as much as he feared he would.

He decides to leave them all notes.

[Dear Pennyworth,

Thank you for your hospitality. I shall remember your lessons and think of you fondly, but I can no longer be in Father's care. His dealings with Poltergeist, Red Hood, and Phantom have been unacceptable. He rather kill an undead than reassess his ways. An undead that is my Akhi. I won't be returning until I feel they've actually changed.

They're not much, but he feels better for writing them.

Damian has outgrown the LoA gear he came in, so he dresses in black jeans, combat boots, a dark green, almost black (Richard said he needed more colour in his wardrobe) hoody, and a surgical mask. He knows Alfred shall be retiring soon and that all the windows and doors leading outside are alarmed. He'll have to sneak out of the cave and use Bruce's codes to get out without an alarm immediately going off. Richard's go off, so Bruce and Alfred know he's been there, and Damian's are so he can't leave without a Bat with him.

It took him two weeks to see enough to piece it together and was infuriated when he realized it was Jason's death date. It's completely disrespectful to Jason and clearly just another form of self flagellation, plus it's like using a birthday as a code, someone IS going to guess it eventually. It killed a lot of whatever respect Damian may have held before tonight.

When the time comes, he doesn't hesitate. It feels surreal to him as he escapes the Manor for probably the last time. He doesn't linger on the fond memories that seem to dig their fingers in as he sneaks away and makes his way to Crime Alley. He swallows the bitterness of realizing his blood relatives have never made him feel safe, only his Akhi. A man who willingly lives in the worst part of Gotham when he deserves the best.

But Damian knows how Jason's heart works. Crime Alley has always been his home, and he'll guard its people till his dying breath.

He climbs down a building and tries to not spook the pair of sex workers, "Excuse me?"

Mission failed, they both startle. The one with mostly straight hair and colourful makeup yells. "JESUS, KID! Ya tryin' ta scare me inta an early grave!?"

"Sorry." Damian mumbles apologically, "I was wondering if you could call Red Hood to pick me up?"

"Sure, kid, but why? Someone try ta sell something to ya?" The other one, with dredlocks and white and black makeup, asks.

"He's my brother, actually... I, um," Damian decides to lay it on thick, wobbling his voice and forcing himself teary-eyed. "I ran away from our relatives. They kept me trapped, and I haven't been able to contact him to tell him I wasn't as safe as we thought I'd be. I ran away, but don't know where he or Poltergeist live..."

"Shush, kid, alright," Black and white sighs, pulling out her(?) phone and hitting call on a contact. "Don't make me regret this!"

Damian nods and stays silent during the phone call, only speaking once she(?) hangs up. "Uh, where should I wait? I don't want to disrupt your business more than I have."

"Ya a doll! Just like our Hoody!" Colourful coons.

"Ya know how to get to the roofs?"

"Yeah?"

"Then wait up there. A kid hangin' about is definitely bad fo' business and Hood will be comin' from the roofs anyway."

"Okay. Thank you for all your assistance." Damian bows slightly towards her before climbing up to the roof to wait. He can't be sure how long he waits, it feels both like hours and mere minutes have past when he hears Jason's familiar footsteps.

"Dami?" Jason sounds confused, which is valid. Last time they spoke Damian was willing to do anything to prove himself to his Grandfather and Bruce. "What are you doing here?"

"I have found both sides of my blood relations to be lacking." Damian admits. "I feel unsafe and wish to stay with you. If your new family would be amenable to it."

"Uh, dad?" Jason asks, tilting his head to the side. A voice coming from open air is very odd to witness in person.

"I don't see why not, but we'll have to ask your brother first." Phantom fades into view and drifts closer to Damian. It feels like the (APPARENTLY) Ghost King (??? Damian is still processing that detail to be honest.) can see Damian's soul. Who knows, maybe he can? Will he find Damian lacking?

"Right, okay, one second." Jason pulls out an odd looking phone and dials a number. "Don't get me wrong, Dami. I would love to have you, but it's a family decision to let you live with us. I cou- Oh! Yeah, so funny situation! How do you feel about adopting another bird?... Yeah...pfft yeah, okay, you have a point...And it'd be funny! .. Sweet! See you soon!"

"He said yes?" Phantom sounds amused and looks fond and unsurprised.

"Yup!" Damian can hear Jason's grin. "You're bunking with me until we upgrade our apartment again!"

"Very well." Damian easily accepts. Phantom tilts his head, eyeing Damian as if trying to get a read on him about something.

"Do you plan to continue being a vigilante?" Was not the question Damian thought he was going to be asked.

"I would like to. I left the Robin costume in the cave, though, so I'd need a new one." Phantom nods in acceptance. Damian doesn't know what he'd do if Phantom said no.

"I will allow it and help you make a new identity IF you promise to stay with me or your brothers when you go out. I won't have any of you dying before you're old and gray." Phantom looks like he will burn the city to the ground at the thought of his children dying. It's comforting. Damian can see why his throughly traumatized predecessors were drawn to him.

"I accept these terms so long as I have more independents as an adult."

"Hm.. we shall revisit the issue when you're 19." Phantom concedes, which is good enough for Damian. "I shall fly us home now. It's getting late and it's faster than parkour."

Damian barely has time to process that before they're rocketing through the Alley. Phantom's strange powers protecting him from wind resistance and gravity. It's the oddest thing he's ever felt, but not bad. Phantom simply phases them through the wall when they get to their apartment.

The frontroom is colourful. Furniture is random, but not clashing, colours. There's pillows and throw blankets of every colour folded to the side or scattered like someone pulled it off in a hurry. Books, games, and puzzles are crammed on multiple bookshelves. It's bright and chaotic, but also lived in and cozy.

Timothy skips in from the kitchen with a tray of 4 steaming mugs of hot cocoa, somehow not spilling a drop. "Hi!"

"Hello, Timothy. Thank you for letting me stay." Damian bows at about a 45 degree angle to show his respect.

"Oh! Um, no problem." Timothy's wide, but calculating eyes show he understands the significance of Damian's bow. "I made everyone hot chocolate. I wasn't sure how you liked yours, so I made it how Jason likes his. Yours and his are the navy and red cups. Dad's is the Nasa one, and this one is mine!"

Timothy says, holding up a rainbow cup with unicorn impaling someone on it.

"Thanks, Tim." Phantom says with a fond smile before something unexpected happens. Phantom turns into a human as he reaches for his cup. After a sip or two, he notices Damian's confusion. "I'm a halfa, kid. My name's Danny Kronoyios in this form. Still legally a dead guy and a ghost. I can just digest things easier in this form and access my powers in the other, can still do both in both, though."

"It's weird, but you get used to it." Jason says while ducking into a hallway. Damian awkwardly grabs the blue cup and sips at it. There's a lovely mix of spices in the cocoa, making it slightly spicy. Jason returns in pajama pants and a band t-shirt Damian doesn't recognize and plops on the couch Timothy has curled up on. "It's been one hell of a day!"

"Indeed." Phantom (because what kind of name is "Danny" for an undead king?) hums, "Want to watch an episode of something before bed?"

And that's how Damian's surreal night ends. He and his possibly new family, drinking cocoa while watching an episode of some show Damian doesn't really understand, but found amusing anyways. Timothy gives him some of his pajamas when they realize Damian didn't bring any. And Jason using him as a teddy bear when they all go to bed. It's nice. It's the safest he's felt since arriving in Gotham. He is positive he made the right choice.

he’d laughed when he saw you that night, ‘no way the Bat is gonna let some rando run around’, and simply bided his time until you were off the streets

except that time never comes, and are you actually…cleaning up the streets?

he wonders if maybe Bruce simply doesn’t know about you, paying his adoptive father a begrudging visit and casually slipping it into conversation

imagine his fucking surprise when he shrugs it off and claims you’ve been holding your own just fine

Jason is livid, and if Batman won’t get you off the streets, Red Hood will

your first confrontation is terrifying

you’d never technically set out to be a vigilante, it was something that had just happened

originally, you were just on the hunt for a group of particularly nasty robbers who had broken into your home and ransacked the place

but that group had just led to another which led to another—and lo and behold, here you are every night

you’re not an idiot—you know the Bats run Gotham’s vigilante underworld, but if you can help them out by taking out a few low-level lackeys (and get your stuff back in the process), why not?

it’s simply bad luck and being at the wrong place at the wrong time that puts you on Hood’s radar and has your list of targets combining with his

you’re simply finishing tying up some goon dressed like the Riddler (presumably one of his lackeys, but you can never be too sure) to a lamppost when there’s a soft thud behind you

you feel his presence before he even casts a shadow, spinning around with a knife in your hand to face your attacker

Please be Nightwing, please be Batgirl—fuck, you’ll even take Red Robin

tonight is not your lucky night, you realize when you come face to face with Red Hood

“What are you doing?” his voice from under the helmet is honestly terrifying

despite all of your effort, all of your training, and the many, many large men you’ve put behind bars recently, you find yourself shrinking back

“Well?!”

you swallow and suddenly the idea of retiring forever doesn’t seem so bad—but you’ve come so far, and you can’t let him of all people drive you away

“Your job,” you snap. “Better than you, I might add.”

your heart is utterly pounding in your chest. there’s no way you just spoke to Red Hood of all people like that

he laughs, but there’s no humour behind it

he clicks the safety on the glock in his hand and tucks it into his holster, stepping towards you until he’s close enough that you can smell the blood and sweat on his skin

“I want you to listen really carefully.” 

you raise your eyebrows from behind your mask

“You’re going to go home, and you’re going to stay the fuck out of my way. Clear?”

“Crystal,” is all you manage to say before he’s running off into the night

since that day, you’ve made it your personal mission to be as much of a pain in his ass is possible

you show up every time he finds a new target, you fuck with his grappling hooks and wires (leading to at least one bad fall that had Dick in tears), you even insert yourself into his family’s life

Jason was an idiot if he thought threats and brute force would work on you, and now he’s paying the price

He almost pleads with Dick to get rid of you after a particularly rough night, only for the blue clad vigilante to shrug it off

your next interaction with him goes about as well as the first

he’s leaving a seemingly abandoned warehouse after beating you to a target, feeling particularly pleased with himself, when he feels his wire goes slack

not this shit again

he manages to catch and brace himself on a nearby rooftop, eyes darting around to find you sitting on the building he was grappling to, laughing your ass off

“There are plenty of crooks in Gotham, stay the hell away from mine.” 

“What, did you call dibs or something?”

“Dibs?” You can hear him scoff all the way from here, “are you a child?”

you’re not sure if it’s his tone or his words, but something about that sets you off and before you can think, you’re making your way down to him

“Do I look like a child?”

Jason’s glad for his helmet so you can’t see where he’s looking—because with a body like yours, you certainly do not look like a child

but any lust he feels towards you is drowned out by sheer anger and frustration

“That’s what I thought,” you smirk, and then you’re tumbling off the building and disappearing into the night

Jason resists the urge to punch a wall. Random vigilante 1, Jason 0.

when Jason doesn’t see you for a few weeks, he can’t help but feel like he’s won

but then paranoia sets in and he thinks this must be another ploy, that you’re hiding in the shadows and waiting for him 

that’s what leads him to track you down, watching you fight off some low rate car jacker

he watches you fight, tracks each movement of your body, and he’s kinda impressed at—is that a bruise? 

he’s dropping from his vantage point the moment he sees the mark peaking out from your domino mask 

the car thief sees him and runs off into the night, leaving the two of you alone 

“I had that,” you say and wipe blood away from your mouth 

Jason cringes at the sight of your bruise up close

he’s never seen you injured before—he’s never even seen you take a hit from someone, you’ve always been too fast

he’s taken some bad hits both in his time as Robin and as Hood, but something about your injury has turmoil brewing inside of him 

“You got hit.”

You look up at him through tired eyes. “I’m sure you must be happy about that.”

“Who was it?”

you take a deep breath and consider not telling him, but you’re sure the Bat or someone else will eventually 

“Scarecrow. Wrong place at the wrong time.”

any trace of amusement Jason felt is wiped away. is that why you’ve been gone for so long? you were dealing with the volatile effects of Fear Gas? 

he almost feels bad for the relief he felt in your absence.

“I should go. Making up for lost time and all that.”

you’re entirely surprised when Red Hood grabs your wrist. you’re not sure what to expect—anger, advice? 

“You’re not cut out for this life.”

you break free of his grip without a second word, running away like that didn’t just break something inside of you

you actively avoid Red Hood after that—any hope you’d had that your tricks would humble him is gone

of course, it’s impossible to stay hidden from him forever and your paths cross again when you’re stopping known sex traffickers at the docks

somehow you managed to beat him here, which is bad news for you given there’s upwards of a dozen men here 

you would never admit it but you’re grateful when you hear the sounds of his guns. It's almost…comforting? 

you try to slip away at the end of the fight but he stops you in your tracks, his big arms crossed over his chest

“You’re avoiding me.”

“And what about it?”

He looks almost surprised at your retort. “Why?”

you laugh if only in exhaustion with his antics. “Are you kidding me? You’re an asshole.”

Jason’s grateful for his mask so you don’t see how stunned he is. yeah, he’s an asshole—but that never stopped you before, so why now?

“I—”

you bounce on your heels in anticipation about what he’s going to say next. I hate you? I think you’re an asshole too?

“I’m sorry.”

you choke on stunned silence. he’s sorry? of all things Red Hood has been called—vicious, murderer, antihero—he’s never been sorry

“I should go,” he taps awkwardly at his ear, “The Bat’s calling.”

he leaves you responsible for calling the cops and rounding up the group of traffickers strewn around the dock

ever since that night, Red Hood lives rent free in your mind. every minute of every day (yes, even at work), his stupid shiny mask and smug attitude haunts your memories

it’s the sincerity in his apology that confuses you the most. you hate him, god you hate him so much that you don’t even hate him at all

the two of you fall into a begrudging agreement after that night 

you don’t bother him, he doesn’t bother you and if (heaven forbid) you’re tracking the same target, you put your problems aside and take them down together

the night when you realize he has feelings for you is rainy and cold, a summer storm moving in above gotham and plaguing the skies 

every night this past week has been spent with Red Hood, trying to track down some mysterious rogue that was allegedly recruiting kids off the street for his cause

it’s that mission that brings you both face to face with Scarecrow

you’re brought back to the night of your fight—to the dose you had taken and the horrors you’d seen 

and the complete fucking beating you took

it’s those memories that have you jumping out of the way when he releases a dose of his gas, desperately jumping to safety behind a car

Hood does the same, albeit slower than you, and ducks his head in next to you

he coughs through the mask and that’s when you realize he didn’t fully clear the gas—and now it’s trapped inside with him

“Take off your helmet.” You command

“What?”

“Just—trust me. I’ll get him but you need to breathe.”

the shock you feel when he peels off his helmet is nothing compared to the warmth you feel knowing he trusts you

you dip away to go fight Scarecrow before you get to see his face, ready to give your greatest foe the ass-kicking of his life

it’s not so much of an ass kicking as it is fending him off until his face turns white with fear and Batman himself emerges from behind you

he’s got it from here, you think, and rush back to Hood’s side only to see Nightwing tending to him

seeing Hood’s face for the first time is like having water dumped over you

he’s ruggedly handsome with blue eyes and dark hair streaked with grey

“Is he gonna be okay?”

Nightwing perks up at the sound of your voice. “He’s fine,” he nudges the vigilante in his arms, “hey, Hood, your friend’s here.”

he says it teasingly, like the way a brother would to their younger sibling

Hood offers you a weak wave, his head resting on Nightwing’s shoulder

“I missed you,” he slurs

“I…I missed you too.”

his cheeks turn pink and you genuinely cannot believe your eyes—Red Hood is blushing

“Do you guys need help? I can take him home, or—or something.”

“We’ve got it from here.” You flinch at the sound of Batman’s voice. God, when did he get behind you?

fucking terrifying.

you’re hesitant but let them leave with your partner, staying put until they load him into the Batmobile and speed away down Gotham’s roads

it’s a few days before you see him again, each passing hour painful and lined with worry

you’re taking a break on Wayne Enterprises, your feet dangling off the side of the tower while you eat a cheeseburger

“Hey”

you no longer cringe at the sound of his voice, instead raising a hand to beckon him closer

he sits down with you on the edge, close enough that his thigh touches yours

“Glad to see that you’re okay.”

“Thanks to you,” he says, and you can tell he doesn’t thank people often. 

“Thank Nightwing.”

He snorts and you’re tempted to ask what’s so funny until he says

“They told me you made a good call with the helmet. Said the dose would’ve been ten times worse if I’d kept it on.”

“I just didn’t want you hurt,” you admit.

you’re ready for him to tease or to shrug off your feelings, but he does something that surprises you even more

he reaches a hand out to brush at the fresh bruise on your cheek

“I don’t like seeing you hurt,” he says and his voice is so quiet that it sends shockwaves through you.

“Hood—”

he cuts you off by rubbing his gloved thumb over your lip

you watch as he pulls off his helmet, resting it on the ledge next to him

“Jason,” he says. “Call me Jason.”

if you thought he looked handsome when he was high on Fear Gas, he looks practically ethereal now

“Y/n.” 

your voice is quiet as you hold out a hand for him to shake. his grip is firm and his hand lingers too long and god, did it get hotter outside?

and then Hood—Jason is leaning in and pressing his lips against yours, a gloved hand grabbing at the nape of your neck to pull your closer

he pulls away with a smirk that has your heart rate spiking, “so,” he looks out on the city, “should we get to it?”

Zoe Gosling: Acquaintance. The strange girl who runs errands for Uzuki's cafe. Rem has attempted to approach her, but Tsumugi has been poisoning the well against Rem, making Zoe less willing to get close to her.

Engel Mikadzuki: Friend. Apparently Tsumugi's half-brother. First met during one of Engel's visits to Mt. Komorebi to see family. Very sweet compared to his sister and brother, and easy to get along with. Currently in a long-distance friendship due to Engel living in San Myshu - wait, where does he live again? Huh? How did you get here this fast?

Francis Mikadzuki: .... Tsumugi's half-brother and Engel's older brother. Handsome, but extremely dismissive. Although she tried, he doesn't seem interested in entertaining a conversation.

Love Bishop: Rude guy. Francis's fiancé, according to Engel. Tips highly when he visits Uzuki's cafe, but is rude to the staff and generally impatient. Rem has no interest in getting to know him. Apparently lives in San Myshuno with Engel and Francis, but they all seem to show up at Mt. Komorebi whenever they want to. Those rich people's private jets must be super fast ...

Pipp Shepherd: Friend. Met when Engel brought "Pippcrew" to the Cafe during a group trip to Mt. Komorebi. Looks intimidating, but very friendly and has some shared interests, so they hit it off immediately. He currently lives in Copperdale, a long way away from Mt. Komorebi, but they still talk on social media from time to time.

Ashe Holt: Friend(?). Met when Engel brought "Pippcrew" to the Cafe during a group trip to Mt. Komorebi. Seems nice, but very hard to read. Rem still likes him. Due to his living in Copperdale, they don't get to meet in person anymore, but they still chat on social media from time to time.

Alexa Narcissa Walton: Former friend. Met when Engel brought "Pippcrew" to the Cafe during a group trip to Mt. Komorebi. Hit it off immediately during their first interaction and bonded throughout the entirety of "Pippcrew's" trip. The friendship kept up for a while, even when Narcissa returned home. However, messages from Narcissa's end eventually became fewer and fewer, and now they no longer speak. While Rem reached out to ask if she did something wrong, she never received a response.

Cedric Carrier: ???. Never met in person, but talked about often by Pipp, and they recently followed each other on social media. Or rather, Cedric followed first, and she followed back. Does he want to be friends?

Personality and Trivia:

A quirky, sporty girl who embodies traits similar to those of an ideal older sister. Growing up surrounded by many people, she finds it easy to make friends, as long as the other person is equally open to it. She has also learned to respect boundaries, giving others the space they need.

Though she seems confident and cheerful, she is quietly mourning her grandmother’s death in a house fire, a tragedy that also brought financial strain to her family when her grandfather lost his home and was forced to move in with his children. As a result, she's been forced to shoulder more financial responsibilities while also balancing school and club activities. Her hopes of moving into her own place in the city to be closer to school and her friends were also dashed after this incident.

Rem isn't usually the type to be easily swayed by pressure or overwhelmed by sadness, although she has recently begun to feel stretched thin... At the same time, busying herself keeps her mind off sad things, causing a sort of internal conflict.

As a Shrine Maiden, Rem takes her duties very seriously. Her friends often point out that her personality seems to do a complete 180 when she's "dressed up," only for her to revert to her usual bubbly self when she's back in her more casual clothing. It's almost as if she's possessed whenever she dons her Miko attire. She seems to be oblivious of the differences, however ... (or she pretends to be for a goof).

I'm suffering from a bunny-wan plot bunny. And I have to share it:

When Anakin's in the Temple during sporadic shore leaves, he works on te mouse droids. They all have their little names and more upgrades than any mouse droid should have. They should be subject to arms regulations at this stage.

Anakin's newest invention is an improved path tracking for the mouse droids. As he tests this, one of the droids (and we'll give him a ridiculous name like Lord Bucktooth the Fifteenth) runs into problems. Anakin uses the tracker on the mouse droids (another very necessary upgrade performed by yours truly) to locate the mouse droids.

He expects to find the droid snagged in a discarded cloak or stuck under a chair. But no, the mouse droid (Lord Bucktooth the Fifteenth) has crashed into a bunny. Now, I imagine the scene like this:

the mouse droid lies on its back, wheels still spinning madly (courtesy of the speed update). Meanwhile, the rabbit lies on its flank, the fur on its flank mussed from the collision.

It's very clear that the mouse droid should have given way to the rabbit and just ran the poor animal over. Now, Anakin is not usually an animal person. Animals can sense his Force signature, always roiling like thunderstorms and doing the equivalent of dropping the barometric pressure. But this rabbit is undeterred by Anakin crouching by the crime scene. Because this is undeniably Anakin's fault.

After putting the mouse droid back on its wheels, Anakin turns to the rabbit. And to his surprise, the rabbit lets him smooth the mussed fur on his flank. Thus, Anakin discovers the rabbits auburn fur is silky soft. Intrigued and awed, he pets the rabbit, letting a floppy, velvety ear run through his fingers, and testing that his little, flaring nose is as soft as it looks (it's somehow softer).

The bunny wrestles back to its feet, clearly fed up with Anakin petting him. Anakin decides to help, putting the bunny back on its feet. Since Anakin possesses no impulse control and this bunny just tugs on his heartstrings, he can't resist the urge to tousle the fur on the rabbit's head.

Now, this rabbit was already fed up with Anakin before Anakin stroked all his fur in the wrong direction. And so, the bunny flees. Anakin tries to follow him, but it's rather difficult to follow such a small and slippery animal, so he loses track of the rabbit.

Anakin's first order of business is adding some traffic regulations in the mouse droids' data banks.

Cue Obi-Wan returning to this quarters, his hair sticking up in all imaginable angles and his robes a mess. Anakin has never seen Obi-Wan so disorganized, and they've fought plenty battles together.

And he blames Anakin when Anakin asks aghast what happened to him. This is, of course extremely unfair. Anakin didn't do anything!

Either way, Anakin fixes the mouse droids, but he's still a little worried for this bunny. Like any reasonable person would do, he equips the mouse droids with cameras and tasks them to find the bunny to ensure bunny is fine (adoption is not out of the question).

Meanwhile, Obi-Wan's being hunted by mouse droids (and an Anakin Skywalker hot on their whirring wheels), each time he transforms. We'll blame the need to transform on Obi-Wan's Stewjon heritage (or he was bitten by a feral bunny Qui-Gon picked up during one of their missions. I actually like this option more).

If he doesn't transform at set times, the transformation can kick in at inopportune times, so Obi-Wan's very careful with his schedule. Until Anakin messes it up, of course. By performing a witch hunt on him! Absolutely ridiculous, but he can't confront Anakin directly.

I imagine that he does like Anakin's cuddles, but he'll also want some petty revenge on his former Padawan.

Either way, this plot bunny won't leave me alone, but I really need to work on chapter 14 for DAUNTLESS and I have too many WIPs already.

What I do not get about Soulsborne fandom at all is the urge to do the random old men into creepy weirdos for no reason?

Gwyn is an amazing morally grey character who tried to create an arguably better world but did a lot of shit to accomplish it, he is tragic more than despicable, an early draft of Marika but clinging to his failure system until the very end. He has shown being generous as far as he is able even with species he feared and many people loved him, including his children. He doesn't have any dialogue or cutscene but his theme is the sole most heart-rending piece of music in everything From created and says more than words could about devs' intention behind this character. But people will say that he had to fuck Priscilla to give birth to Gwyndolin when Priscilla was banished into the Painted World as a child! So like, did he have sex with a kid, or predatorily waited for a kid to grow up? But no, he must be Gwyn Lord of Grooming when there are at least two way more canon-palatable explanations for who was second parent of Gwyndolin? Why would he need to keep Priscilla as a sex slave anyways? Are you telling me THIS guy lacked sex partners? The GILF Marika guy lacked sex partners to the point he needed a sex slave? Seriously?

Gehrman is the hunter who has done a lot of shit in his life, affiliated with Byrgenwerth and directly involved in Fishing Hamlet, who cherished the student he took down the dark path of the hunt a lot and got completely crashed after her death, immortalising her soft and innocent side that was ruined in a mourning doll of her. He poured so much warmth into simply caring for her former hair ornament that Doll cried tears of joy holding it - emotions he had hoped Doll would have, whom he distanced from seeing she was only Maria lookalike otherwise acting mechanical and lifeless. But people will say he is a creep who drooled all over Maria from the corners and made a sex doll of her that he also offers US to fuck. 🤦‍♂️ Bonus points for claims of objectification, misogyny and loathing her masculine vibe so much he bastardised her into his tradwife ideal, as if this notion on itself doesn't directly contradict the very fact of training her to be the hunter to begin with. And you'd think clarifying that "Even the Doll, should it please you" and "his curious mania" were invented by English localisation would be enough, yet some people still insist that either Japanese original script is somehow "not the gospel" (???), or that it is somehow valid to replace canon character with our negative experience with them dreaded cis white males and be bitchy towards everyone who wants posts about the canon character as he is (??????).

Godrick is straight up the symptom of how wrong things went in this setting, both in the world and in his big family. He is not seen as his own person but only as a disgrace of his cool strong awesome golden ancestors due to being born weak, he got driven out of his rightful place due to internal political contrivances and ran for his life, he adopted the mindset and expectations imposed on him and does everything he can to make himself what he "should" be. There are reasons to pity him, in good or bad sense, but somehow he gets baseless accusations of being a creep/pervert/rapist thrown at him, especially on Reddit? Also random takes about him being a groomer too because of Grafted Scions, when they are literally just his children? Why??? What do people THINK "grafted scion" means? I suppose people have a strange way to look at grafting as a concept, even though Rykard or Warrior Jars like Alexander also make people they've killed parts of their bodies?

Like, nothing wrong with creepy and uncomfortable characters and dark topics in media, but what's with the insistence of forcing these topics onto characters who don't actually have them? I just feel like there is a concept of "old = creepy" in fandom consciousness

When Mark was a teen/young adult he used to be obsessed with Imagine Dragons. He'd listen to Believer and go damn deep. Later in life after lizardfication he'd listen to Radioactive and be like damn that's me.

During his depowering era, Tide started to teach himself how to cook. He set his kitchen on fire many times during that time. But every time that happened he'd try to use his powers to extinguish it only to then realize that he doesn't have them anymore. But maybe that was for the better because most of the fires were oil fires so water would not help.

In canon Dakota snores and talks in his sleep right? I think others also have their small quirks when it comes to sleep. Vyncent drools. He does it so much he often wakes up with a wet pillow which isn't pleasant. William hogs blankets and sleeps wrapped in them like a burrito - you can't see his body, it's just a pile of blankets. Ashe used to sleepwalk a lot as a kid, but doesn’t do that much anymore. Nowadays he sometimes sits up and just stares at a wall or gets up just stand over whoever is also in the house.

Vyncent has darkvision. Which is why he's very much aware that William watches him sleep at night.

While Vyncent and Dakota are fit and kinda ripped, William and Ashe aren't. BUT. William is a hiker - he can’t run for long nor very fast, but hiking? He can do that for hours on end. Ashe on the other hand has a sleeper build - while his legs are weak as he's not a fan of running nor hiking, his arms are surprisingly strong from playing drums. He constantly surprises people because that's a slim arm but then he flexes and BAM that's a muscle. First time he opened a tightly closed jar in front of William, Will cried because what the fuck man they were both supposed to be weak.

Vyncent knows how to cook. But only Fauna dishes and after the microwave disaster he's afraid of Prime's kitchen equipment.

Doomed old man yaoi of Bacon-man and Wordsmith. It's doomed because Bacon-man is greasy and Wordsmith can't touch his books with all that grease. That's it. I have no explanation why I am like this.

William has bee allergy, Ashe is lactose intolerant and Vyncent has very low caffeine tolerance. Dakota claims to not have any allergies nor lack of tolerance - and even if he has, that would be the last of his worries considering what he has eaten.

Idk how s1 canon works anymore but i still think that Dakota and Doug are like friends from way back when. Like maybe even before high school (makes the betrayal sting more). i'll go a little more in depth on all of these under the cut for anyone interested!

i'll just start on top with ramzi and go clockwise :3

Ramzi: Shamura's first true romantic interest, being the God of War didn't allow for them to spend much time thinking of romance, if they'd considered the thought at all previously. Their romance is slow and awkward at first, but as the first bishop to marry Ramzi I'd say they got their act together pretty quickly! They adopted Webber as their child a short time after their union :3

Narinder: The tensest of the familial relationships they maintain, Nari still blames his siblings (mainly Shamura) for his imprisonment. Shamura is willing to admit fault, Narinder is not, causing them to butt heads occasionally. They have an eternity to work it out and they still have their soft moments, with time they'll put the pieces together. They're on the road to mending their bond, but they need a mediator still to keep things civil

Hazel: One of Ramzi's first disciples, assigned to Shamura's library and is essentially their personal assistant! He is, unfortunately, dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to his own emotions and relationships. Has an intense pining for Shamura, and with Mura's lack of experience and forgetfulness, they don't catch on to Hazel's feelings for a while...

Kallamar: Their closest familial bond, Kallamar feels the safest when Shamura is nearby, and is incredibly protective over them. He still acts as their primary doctor, though his new nurse (another disciple of Ramzi's) has also been trained on how to care for their needs. They spend most of their free time together, he even attends Shamura's book readings for the cult children to provide another voice for their stories or just to listen to them read.

Faustus: The large goat seemingly has nothing in common with Ramzi, but Shamura saw a strange similarity between them that seemed to draw them in. Faustus was wary at first, his own bishops in his world being cruel and uncaring to his followers and even himself, though Shamura's kindly personality disarmed his cautious attitude rather quickly. Thankfully their romance went a lot smoother than Shamura's initial trysts with Ramzi, even if they both bumbled their way into the situation to begin with.

Heket: Her loyalty to her sibling is unmatched, Heket is still Shamura's staunchest defender. She wants to act as their bodyguard, despite their urging for her to embrace their mortal forms and enjoy the new lives they've been given. Shamura's admittance of guilt and regret rattled her at first, making her reconsider everything they'd done previously- but she's beginning to relax. Shamura is quick to remind the lamb to be patient with her, she had been taken into the old faith as a bishop early on in life, it was all she had ever known after all.

Sozo: I should preface that while I do enjoy the Sozo/Shamura ship- my characterizations of them would not get along! Shamura may have softened over time, but their prey drive may never leave them. Some followers trigger it more than others, and while they are disciplined and would never actually make a move against Sozo- he recognizes those hungry looks they give him. Sozo is, frankly, absolutely terrified of Shamura. Ramzi has tried to ease tensions between them before, though trying to force an ant and a spider to be friends was (unsurprisingly) not successful...

Leshy: The youngest of the old faith, and the fastest to adjust to life in Ramzi's cult, Shamura was surprised by how quickly Leshy came around. By the time they'd been resurrected and brought into the grounds, he was fully comfortable there. Over protective and paranoid at first, Leshy was instrumental in helping them acclimate to mortal life. He spends quite a bit of time helping them weave, and Shamura loves every moment spent with their younger brother (even if they have to stop him from flossing his teeth with their silk occasionally,)

I love Pacific Rim so I will never not combine it with my current hyperfixation to make an Pacific Rim Au... Anyway! Wanna hear me talk about a Timebomb, Jayvik, CaitVi, Melvika and Zaundads Pacific Rim AU anyone?????

Part 1 cause this is long as hell.

Jayce and Viktor:

Jayce and Viktor aren't actually Jaeger Pilots in this AU. They're a part of the research team working on understanding the Kaiju and developing ways to defeat them.

Viktor wanted to be a pilot when he was younger, but due to his disability he was never able to successfully pass the tests. So he decided to use his intelligence to aid the fight against the Kaiju.

Jayce passed the tests but was never able to attain a high enough drift compatible score to find a suitable partner. (The highest being with Caitlyn)

Jayce and Viktor meet when Jayce tries to develop a new energy source to power the Jaegers. Hextech.

Viktor is the one who tries to infuse Kaiku DNA with Hextech to cure himself. Immediately regrets it and tries to destroy it.

Jayce uses it anyway after Viktor gets critically injured caught in a Kaiju attack. Also immediately regrets after he used it to save Viktor's life.

This causes Viktor to be influenced by the Kaiju hivemind. Jayce has to pilot a mech solo to stop him.

Caitlyn and Vi:

"Piltover's finest pilots" They're Piltover's power couple (literally)

Caitlyn becomes a Jaeger pilot, despite her mother's wishes. Cait is a universal compatible drift partner, she can drift with literally anyone, which is why she believes that it's her duty to serve as a pilot.

Vi is a former pilot, current criminal imprisoned in Stillwater. She's one of the best pilots from Zuan being as young as she is.

Cait's had multiple different drift partners (including Jayce)

Vi's only had one partner, that being her adopted father: Vander, who retired after a Kaiju attack in Zaun. An attack that Vi believes killed her sister.

Like Jayce, Vi has a hard time drifting with others. Here's where Cait comes in as her partner, after she's released from prison to pilot again.

Wouldn't be Caitvi if they didn't break up at least once, so they do when it's revealed that Vi's sister is alive and is working for Silco.

Ekko and Jinx:

After the sudden attack on Zaun Ekko lost Benzo and tried to find Powder, who he never believed died in the attack. He forms the Firelight with Scar to help people after the attack and to fight against Silco.

Powder Jinx is the one responsible for the Kaiju attack on Zaun. She built a device that mimics the calls of a Kaiju which led to the Kaiju attack on Zaun.

Ekko's drift partner is Scar, the Firelights have two Jaeger's to their name which they use to fight off smaller Kaiju that may attack their home base. The council has tried recruiting the Firelights multiple times, they've always refused and stayed independent.

Jinx isn't drift compatible with anyone. Her mental state makes it dangerous for both her and her drift partner, so Silco has forbidden her from ever piloting a Jaeger (much to her displeasure) She wanted to be a pilot like her sister. So she sticks to help Silco's illegal business and making weapons.

The Firelights and Silco are eventually forced to team up because of more frequent attacks cause of Viktor. With Scar temporarily out of commission, Ekko and Jinx try to drift together. Despite them being extremely drift compatible, the first time they try it all goes to shit.

Backs against the wall and running out of time, they try to drift one more time. It starts off shit, but slowly they start to match each other's rhythm.

"Always a dance with you"

And.... That's the end of part 1!

The next part will be about the divorced dads Silco and Vander and unlikely and reluctant allies Mel and Sevika. I can finally talk about what Silco's "illegal business" is and Vander, Sevika and Mel's role in this AU.

I'm not a 100% caught up on Pacific Rim lore btw. Ntm I wanna mix in some Arcane/LoL lore too... I wanna talk about Zaundads and Melvika first before I actually delve into some world building of this AU.

But for now just know that the Piltover/Zaun struggle is still there... they're working together to stop the Kaiju, but there's still the fact that Piltover is better off and holds power over Zaun.

On a side note if anyone has any ideas or suggestions for what Caitvi and Timebomb's Jaegers should be called please share them as I suck at naming!

what are your thoughts on ryuuji forgiving yukio even though yukio tried to kill him?

So the way this is asked makes it feel as though you don't think Ryuuji should have forgiven Yukio?

Personally, I have a lot of thoughts and opinions on this entire plot line. I really enjoy it and the mounting tension and how many signs are pointing to the escalating tension and how obvious it is once you know to look. The confrontation is inevitable.

The first thing I think to take into consideration for the arc is that Ryuuji was present when Tadashi Misumi died. He was not responsible for the death, that belongs on Lewin Light and whoever created the Morinath Contract that Tadashi was forced to sign. That interrogation directly leads to the death of someone Yukio grew up with.

Ryuuji intervenes on the torture and gets himself injured for that intervention, but it is immensely obvious he holds a lot of guilt for the death and the fact that he can't explain any of it to Rin and Yukio. He himself says that he was involved in the death of someone important to them and he could barely stand to be in front of them because of the shame he felt.

Then he learns just how deeply involved in every horrible part of Section Thirteen that Rin and Yukio are, and how they don't know any of it and that they've been used and manipulated their entire lives, possibly by the person that raised them, and he can't say anything.

We know Ryuuji despises lies and dislikes not being able to confide in and lean on his friends, and hates not letting them lean on him, and he wants to be there but can't because he can't speak about this.

Yukio knows Ryuuji is involved because he over heard the other priests at the monastery talking about Lightning, and that focuses his attention on Ryuuji and he starts noticing and gives Ryuuji a lot of opportunities to share information but Ryuuji can't. This unfortunately starts to drive them both a bit crazy. Ryuuji with guilt and Yukio with the drive for knowledge that Mephisto himself talked about as the thing that drives humans.

That confrontation was inevitable. Yukio was under unimaginable pressure and sleep deprivation while battling a constant voice in his head. A voice he knew his adopted father heard and knew had led to Shirou's death, and who he sees as confirming every terrible thought he has about himself. A constant endless reminder of who his real father is and the dishonor that is his lineage. A witch of a mother and the most vile demon as his father, and every question he has Ryuuji gets to know and the answers are right there.

Yukio has spent pretty much every arc since the Kraken arc (rip fantastic arc, you'd have been awesome animated) trying to find out answers and being more and more obviously manipulated and controlled and belittled and denied any respect or answers. Further isolated and taunted by Satan with no escape he can see because he has not had any one to lean on since Shirou died.

He confronts Ryuuji about wanting to ask questions about Shirou and Ryuuji, while being TERRIBLE at hiding his thoughts and emotions, continues to be asked by Yukio how he was involved in Tadashi's death and what he was investigating.

Looking like guilt itself personified, Ryuuji says he can't answer, and that is the moment, in my opinion that leads to the second.

Yukio needs an answer and has been driven to a spot beyond reasoning and Ryuuji, who has been dying under his own weight and guilt has a single shocking moment where he finally properly looks at Yukio and sees what no one else has, or has bothered to look at for more than a moment.

That is why Ryuuji forgives him even as it's happening. He's not scared of the gun or even of Yukio. It doesn't seem like he's really at any moment scared of getting hurt or really seeing it as a genuine threat to his life or safety.

Instead he seems scared by what he sees in Yukio's eyes. By what he didn't notice and how obviously dire Yukio's mental state is if he's gone to this.

He forgives because he, more than most anyone else around Yukio, gets what immense pressure can do to you. What guilt can do to you. What being alone can do to you.

Because more than most any of them, he gets that he also didn't reach out and didn't see the need right in front of him and because as he tells Izumo, he can't fight friends and he considers Yukio a friend. One he himself failed.

Is this right? Who is to say. It's Ryuuji's decision to make on if he forgives. Just as it's Yukio's decision on if he forgives Ryuuji for being secretively involved in the death of someone like an uncle to him. I can say I don't think it would be Ryuuji not to forgive for this and not to immediately grab the guy that just threatened him with a gun to ask what happened and if Yukio's okay. Or to skip the apology entirely, twice, and instead reach across the distance he had a hand in creating and close a large amount of it by being the one to place them in the grounds of friendship by telling Yukio to call him Ryuuji and being one of the only people to consistently call him Yukio and not some other nickname.

All of those moments are fully dependent upon each other and they both have faults that lead to it and both chose to move on and be stronger friends with both trusting their backs to each other without any visible hesitation.

So basically my thoughts are that the entire thing is so utterly Ryuuji that it's fantastic, and that very few people seem to stop and ask why Yukio has gotten to where he's been or what led there. He's almost always got a lot of reasons and is impressive with how long he takes to dramatically snap.

"Damian Wayne has no friends"

To follow up on my past reblog and also to just saysomething. I wanna say that Damian (Against the popular belief of the fandom) does have friends, in fact he has many friends, just at the top of my head I can name:

Mia "Maps" Mizoguchi Maya Ducard Suren Darga Jonathan "Jon" Kent Colin Wilkes Rose Wilson Respawn Nika/Flatline Billy Batson Connor Hawke (However he is around Tim's age, as they were friends first) Aurora Djinn If DC wanted him to be dating someone, they don't need to take characters who are the same age as his oldest brother (Dick, who is between late twenties early thirties) and age them down to pair them with him, or ignore the fact that they have a sibling relationship (Cass is legally his adoptive sister and Steph is not only Tim's ex, she's also grown to be a sibling more.). They could've paired him with just about any of his friends, instead they erase them and never use them again (Suren, Colin, Djinn, Aurora), pretend they've never met (Billy) or just absolutely ruine the character (Jon's age up was bs and how it was handled was bs).

They're doing their all to keep Damian in this box of "Friendless kid who everyone hates" when he canonically has:

Grown significantly since his debut (Which in the timeline of the comics would be around four years or so) Has shown to be good at making friends, just not with civilians or people who can't understand and don't understand the way he was raised (Which is valid for a child raised in a cult, whose father neglected and abused him by isolating him and locking him in his room for hours and was never given therapy to handle his emotions and cope. Since his coping mechanism [Art] Was destroyed by Tim and Bruce). Has shown interest in medicine and even animals, as well as art Has shown to be compassionate and kind, even before coming to Gotham (Freeing his clones into a paradise island to let them live life freely)

Damian has the most potential in the comics, he's pretty much one of the kindest Robins, yet his entire character is thrown out the window, because DC can't let the Arab kid be better than the white man they keep forcing to be a stale character so they can insert themselves in his story and make themselves minor Gods (We all know who I'm talking about)
