crozier being kidnapped and telling goodsir not to worry because edward will be there on the morrow, completely sure of it, like it's inevitable. edward in fact immediately going to rally the men to get crozier back and finding they held a vote without him and it's been decided they'll leave without crozier (and without the sick). edward having the choice between being left alone with no chance at crozier's rescue or his own survival, or taking up his duty and leading the men onward. crozier in hickey's camp believing in edward's sense of loyalty and edward not showing up, not knowing how edward fought for him. crozier showing up at the final camp seeing edward mutilated but alive like he told him to, only to die. thinking about edward's absolute sense of loyalty to his captain and duty towards the men tearing him apart and it never saves anyone

Sometimes I feel like the only silent hill 2 fan who thinks James is a huge piece of shit. He’s a great character and I enjoy him but he’s a piece of shit and deserved the hell he made for himself. All the sexual frustration in every inch of this place and the enemies looking like bound women he violently beats to death are him. Pyramid head assaulting that mannequin is him. He’s able to hide behind the lies he feeds himself and won’t confront the evil in him (I mean you can interpret him living as him choosing to turn his life around but it’s pretty ambiguous to me).

people need to stop celebrating the fact that scoups is exempt from military enlistment. people have started to only focus on the fact that he’s not going and ignore the fact that he had a serious injury which is why he’s exempt. real carats who actually cared about their artist’s health would much rather have the standard 1.5-2 year hiatus for military and a completely healthy artist than an injured one not going.

for mulder, the entirety of the william/jackson arc in the revival. i think of him running off because scully asks him too, slitting that man's throat, threatening unknown agents for their interference. every single thing he does. even the quieter moments. their date nights, saying The Thing to scully, just giving her whatever she needs. *waiting* for her to be ready. "that's my choice" speech. when she calls him fox and now it seems natural for them.

this is such a good one and i think it's easy to associate mulder with strength in the revival because he's so much Bigger and physically present and they treat him like an action hero at times, but also easy to miss what it takes to fulfill the role he is. he's so steady and even impulsive drastic moves like the throat-slit feel calm and calculated. he has to play the rational fixed point in a situation that is unbearably difficult for him too, and that's harder than it looks.
