your father’s face is pale as he kneels before the messenger, the weight of the moment pressing heavily on his shoulders.
his hands tremble in his lap, and his posture slumps, as if the air has been sucked from the room. the messenger stands tall and unyielding.
lord sukuna requires one of your daughters to marry him,” the messenger states, his tone sharp and businesslike. “to refuse is…inadvisable.”
your mother gasps, clutching the edge of her robe, and your sisters exchange wide-eyed, horrified looks. aya’s grip tightens on hina’s sleeve, and hina’s mouth trembles, unable to form words.
you remain silent.
sukuna’s name hangs in the air like a curse—the king of curses feared across the land. to be sent to him is to step willingly into the jaws of a predator.
your father stammers, his voice barely above a whisper. “p-please…surely, there must be another way…”
the messenger’s gaze hardens, his words sharp and final. “lord sukuna does not make requests twice. you have until the week’s end to decide. one of your daughters will be sent to his estate.”
the messenger leaves, and the room plunges into a suffocating silence. your father collapses forward, burying his face in his hands, his body trembling with despair.
your mother’s sobs start quietly but grow louder, echoing through the room. aya clings to hina, her face pale with fear.
“I won’t let you choose,” you say, your voice cutting through the heavy silence.
all eyes turn to you in shock. your father lifts his head slowly, his expression a mixture of disbelief and sorrow. aya’s small hands clutch your arm. “no, you can’t mean—”
“I do,” you interrupt firmly, despite the turmoil gnawing at your chest. you meet each of their gazes, the weight of the choice pressing down on you.
your mother rises, hands trembling as she reaches for you, her face etched with anguish. “no, y/n. you’re the eldest, yes, but that doesn’t mean this burden should fall on you.”
you step back gently, removing her hands from your face. “do you want it to fall on aya? or hina?” you gesture toward your sisters, who stiffen at your words. “do you think they’ll survive with a man like him?”
aya shakes her head, tears streaming down her face. “you’re just as important as we are! why does it have to be you? please, don’t do this.”
you stand in front of her, brushing the tears from her face. “aya, I don’t want to go either. but if we don’t do this, sukuna will come for us.
he’ll take what he wants, and we won’t be able to stop him. you don’t deserve this life. hina doesn’t deserve it. at least I can try to protect you this way.”
aya sobs harder, her small frame shaking. “I can’t lose you,” she cries, burying her face in your shoulder.
you hold her tight, feeling the pain of this decision settle heavily on your chest. hina steps forward, her face unreadable. “be safe,” she whispers, her voice barely audible.
“I will,” you promise, though the words feel hollow.
your mother sobs uncontrollably into your father’s chest, and he remains silent, broken. he doesn’t stop you—he can’t. you know he wouldn’t, not in the face of sukuna’s power.
you pull away slowly, aya’s small hands slipping from your arm. “I’ll write,” you murmur, turning toward the door. “I’ll write as often as I can. you’ll be okay. just…take care of each other.”
they nod silently, but the fear in their eyes won’t fade.
your mother’s voice breaks through the quiet. “you’re so brave,” she whispers. “but I wish you didn’t have to be.”
you take a last look at your family, standing together in the doorway. their figures grow smaller as the cart takes you away, the weight of their sorrow heavy in your heart.
the world outside seems darker, colder as you leave them behind. the home you’re leaving is more than just a place; it is everything you know.
and with every step, you feel a piece of yourself slipping away.
the journey to sukuna’s estate feels endless, each passing mile colder than the last. the wind bites at your skin, and the clouds above seem to mirror the heaviness in your heart.
the long ride in the cart gives you ample time to think, but there is no solace to be found.
your family, the warmth of your home, and the lives you knew are fading into the distance, replaced by the looming unknown of sukuna’s estate.
your stomach churns with unease as you approach the gates. they are massive, imposing iron structures that seem to swallow the light, and as the carriage slows to a stop before them, the oppressive silence only amplifies the dread in your chest.
the heavy gates groan open with a reluctance that seems to mirror your own, revealing the vast grounds of sukuna’s estate.
everything about this place screams power—an estate built to intimidate, to assert dominance over all who enter.
the stone paths are harsh and cold beneath your feet as you step out of the carriage. the servants who meet you are stiff, their eyes avoiding yours as they take your belongings.
you are no more than a stranger in their world, a burden that they carry, and you feel the sting of that isolation.
as you make your way inside the grand hall, your footsteps echo in the silence. it’s all so stark, so cold. the air feels thick with tension, and as you round the corner into the heart of the estate, you are met with the full weight of his presence.
sukuna sits at the head of a long table in a massive hall, his eyes fixed on you as you enter. the sight of him is enough to take your breath away—his posture relaxed, yet every inch of him exudes power.
his dark crimson robes shift slightly as he stands, towering over you with an unsettling ease. his gaze is sharp.
“so,” he says, “you’re the one they sent.”
you stand tall, refusing to let the weight of his gaze break you. beneath the surface, your heart races, but you force yourself to keep it steady.
“I came of my own choice,” you reply, your voice firm but betraying a hint of the turmoil churning inside.
his lips curl into a smirk, an expression laced with amusement and something darker. “did you, now? brave. or foolish.”
the words sting, but you bite back the retort that rises to your lips. there’s no point in showing him weakness. “I’m not foolish,” you say, your voice colder than you intended, but it’s enough to get his attention.
he chuckles, a sound rich with disdain and amusement. “well, little wife, you’ll learn soon enough what your choice means.”
his eyes glint with a dangerous promise, and despite your resolve, something tightens in your chest.
after that meeting, his presence lingers, an almost tangible force, but he keeps his distance. it’s not until later that night, when you’re left alone in your new room, that the weight of your decision truly hits.
the walls feel too close, and the silence is suffocating.
life at sukuna’s estate is harsh, far colder than you anticipated. the mansion itself is sprawling and filled with echoing corridors, but it never feels warm.
the servants, though polite, are distant, as if afraid to make eye contact. your days are spent in isolation, wandering the gardens or sitting alone in your chambers, trying to make yourself useful without getting in the way.
you are nothing more than a visitor in this grand, empty place—a prize claimed by a man who has no use for you beyond the title you now bear.
at times, sukuna’s presence seems to vanish entirely, leaving you to grapple with the silence. but on other days, his sharp words cut through the air like blades, his moods as unpredictable as the wind.
he is a storm, sweeping through the halls when he deigns to speak, his eyes always sharp, always calculating.
one afternoon, you are working in the garden, your hands busy with the familiar task of pulling weeds, trying to occupy your mind.
the scent of earth and flowers is the only thing that feels real in this place. a soft breeze stirs the air, and for a fleeting moment, you almost feel like you’re back home.
but then, you hear his voice. it’s low and mocking, a drawl that sends a shiver down your spine.
“do you plan to sulk forever?” sukuna asks, his tone cutting through the air.
you glance up from your task, narrowing your eyes at him. he stands in the doorway, leaning casually against the frame, his robe flowing around him like an aura of danger.
“I’m not sulking,” you reply, your voice clipped, though you know it’s a lie. you are, in fact, sulking—trying to retreat into yourself because it’s the only way to survive this.
“could’ve fooled me,” he retorts, a smirk curling at the edges of his lips. “you’ve been quieter than a graveyard since you got here.”
you get ticked off by his words but force yourself to stay composed. “what would you have me do? laugh at your jokes?” you don’t know why you say it, but the challenge is there, raw and unfiltered.
he chuckles, a deep, rumbling sound that grates on your nerves. “I don’t tell jokes.”
you mutter under your breath, “clearly.”
to your surprise, he doesn’t take offense. instead, he raises an eyebrow, his eyes narrowing slightly as he steps into the garden.
his presence fills the space, as if he owns it. he leans against the stone wall, watching you with a mixture of curiosity and something more.
you feel his hand hold the top of your head for a moment, and he hums, “at least you’ve got a spine. I’d hate to have a wife who folds like paper.”
you don’t know what to make of the compliment—or if it’s even meant as one. but his words, though gruff, are the first acknowledgment he’s given you that isn’t full of disdain or indifference.
“I don’t fold,” you reply, try to shake his hand off. you find yourself meeting his gaze, a silent challenge passing between the two of you.
for a long moment, sukuna doesn’t say anything. the tension hangs in the air, thick and unspoken. then, finally, his lips curl into something that might be the start of a smile, though it’s fleeting.
“good,” he says, his voice almost too soft for you to catch. “you’ll need that fire, wife.”
you don’t respond, but as the days pass, his words linger in your mind. slowly, something starts to shift. his unpredictable moods, his sharp words, his occasional moments of unexpected gentleness—they all begin to add up.
it’s not love, not yet, but something else.
you’re not sure if you want to like him, but the more time you spend in his presence, the more you begin to understand him. in return, he seems to start observing you more closely, his interest piqued.
whether you like it or not, you are now bound together in this cold, sprawling estate, and the strange, slow pull between you grows with each passing day.
the first real instance happens during dinner. the grand dining hall is silent, save for the soft clinking of silver against porcelain.
sukuna sits at the head of the table, a looming figure of power, draped in his usual white and black.
his gaze flicks to you once, but he doesn’t speak. it’s a familiar pattern by now—he speaks only when he has something to say, and even then, his words are sparse, deliberate.
but tonight, as you reach for the pitcher of wine, your hand knocks over the glass beside it. the sound of the glass tipping and shattering against the floor startles everyone in the room.
a sharp, echoing crack. the servants freeze, eyes flicking nervously from the broken shards to sukuna.
you stand frozen, the glass at your feet, heart racing. the tension in the room thickens, but no one moves. you glance up at sukuna, half-expecting the usual cold indifference or a sharp rebuke.
but tonight, his dark eyes flicker to the broken glass before meeting yours. there’s something in his gaze—a spark of amusement—before he leans back in his chair, arms crossed, his posture lazy but commanding.
“careful, little wife,” he drawls, his voice low and slightly mocking, but there’s no malice in it. “I wouldn’t want to see you spill any more of my wine.”
you nod, instinctively bending down to pick up the shards, but before your fingers even touch the glass, sukuna’s voice cuts through the air.
“stop,” he commands, his tone sharp and unwavering.
you freeze mid-motion, looking up to find his gaze already fixed on you.
“clean this up,” sukuna commands, glancing at the servants, his voice a deep rumble that makes the servants rush to obey without a word.
as they quickly gather the shards, sukuna’s attention returns to you, though his eyes linger a moment longer than necessary.
“you seem eager to be useful,” he observes, his voice tinged with a hint of something almost approving. “but I’d rather not have my wife make herself filthy for something as trivial as this.”
you open your mouth but stop, unsure if you want to argue with him or remain silent.
a week later, you find yourself in the garden again, absentmindedly tending to the flowers that line the stone walls.
the peace of the garden is a brief escape from the heaviness inside the mansion, and you’ve come to cherish the quiet moments there.
this time, however, you hear footsteps approaching behind you. you don’t need to turn around to know it’s him. the weight of his presence is unmistakable.
“I see you’ve found your little sanctuary,” sukuna’s voice comes.
you don’t answer at first, focused on trimming the overgrown vines. his footsteps stop, and for a moment, there’s just the sound of the wind rustling the leaves and the faint scent of flowers in the air.
“are you going to ignore me every time I approach?” he asks, a hint of curiosity and a bit of annoyance lacing his words. “you don’t seem like the type to hide from confrontation.”
you glance over your shoulder, meeting his gaze for a brief moment. his eyes are narrowed, but there’s no hostility in them. it’s a rare look for him—almost like he’s testing you, waiting for your response.
“I’m not hiding,” you reply, your voice steady, though there’s an edge to it. “I just prefer peace.”
sukuna steps closer, a slight smirk tugging at his lips as he watches you work. “peace? in my estate?” his laugh is low and dark, more of a scoff than an actual laugh. “you won’t find that here, little wife.”
you focus on the flowers in front of you, resisting the urge to let his words unsettle you. but for some reason, you can’t quite brush off the way he’s watching you.
“I didn’t expect to,” you reply, your voice quieter now, softer.
there’s a beat of silence, and then, to your surprise, sukuna crouches beside you. his presence looms close, his eyes scanning the flowers you’re tending to. “they’re not bad,” he says.
you glance up at him, meeting his gaze. for a moment, the weight of the estate, the pressure of being in his presence, fades away.
it’s just the two of you, sitting in this strange, delicate quiet.
“well, they’re not as high-maintenance as you are,” you mutter under your breath, a playful jab that you can’t quite hold back.
he chuckles—a low sound that vibrates through the space between you. it’s the first time you’ve heard him laugh like that—without mockery, without an edge. it’s almost human.
“high-maintenance, huh?” he muses, his tone teasing, but there’s a shift in the air now. “maybe you’ll find that out the hard way.”
the words are playful. you’re not sure what to make of it, but it stirs something in you, something that’s both unsettling and... intriguing.
over the next few weeks, these small moments become more frequent, threading together a fragile tapestry of connection. sukuna’s presence is still overwhelming, but it feels less suffocating now.
he no longer seems entirely distant, nor does he hover with the same oppressive force. instead, he’s there, always watching, always waiting for something unspoken to unfold.
one evening, as you sit alone in the garden again, this time reading a book your family had gifted you, you hear his footsteps before you see him. sukuna doesn’t announce his presence this time.
he simply stands there, watching you with his usual, inscrutable gaze. you feel his eyes on you, and for once, you don’t feel the need to pretend you don’t notice.
“I’m surprised you can read,” he says, his voice a low murmur. there’s no mockery in it, only a genuine comment. “thought you’d be too busy sulking.”
you glance up from your book, meeting his gaze. “I’m not sulking,” you reply, the words more matter-of-fact than before. there’s no need to explain yourself to him anymore.
he steps closer, his presence heavy as always, but this time it doesn’t make you want to shrink away. “what are you reading about?”
“it’s just a story,” you say, closing the book slowly. “something to pass the time.”
“hmm,” he murmurs, his eyes flicking down to the book. “must be a boring story if it’s keeping you this entertained.”
you chuckle lightly. “maybe I just need a distraction from you.”
he doesn’t respond immediately, but there’s a tension in the air, as if the words have just cracked open something between you.
the turning point comes one evening when you receive a letter from home. you’ve been sitting by the window, when you notice the familiar parchment.
aya’s neat handwriting graces the top, and as soon as you read her name, your heart stutters.
you eagerly unfold it, fingers trembling slightly as you begin to read.
her words spill across the page with such love and longing that they cut deep, each line filled with updates about their daily lives, the little things that no longer seem so insignificant to you.
she tells you about hina’s recent antics and how their mother insists on planting a garden in the courtyard, even though the soil remains stubbornly unyielding.
she writes about how your father has been more quiet than usual, always looking out toward the horizon, waiting for the day when his daughters are reunited.
but more than anything, the letter is a reminder of how deeply you are missed, how the absence of your presence has created a space no one can fill.
you can feel the tears welling in your eyes before you realize it. they sting hotly as you read on. the weight of being apart from them—your sisters, your parents—becomes almost unbearable.
you can’t suppress the sobs that rise in your chest, so you quickly wipe them away, desperate to regain some composure.
but you’re too late. the door opens with a soft creak, and you don’t need to turn to know who’s standing there. sukuna’s presence fills the room as it always does.
he pauses, his sharp eyes narrowing in on you. his gaze flicks over your tear-streaked face then down at your hands.
“what’s that?” he asks, his tone surprisingly less abrasive than usual. it’s subtle, but there’s a shift in the way he speaks.
“a letter,” you reply quietly, your voice thick, the emotion still lingering. “from my sisters.”
his eyes linger on you for a moment longer, studying you with an intensity that seems to reach beyond your tears, deeper into the vulnerability you’ve been trying to keep hidden.
he steps forward, closing the distance between you, and before you can react, he takes the parchment from your hands, his fingers brushing yours just slightly as he does so.
you watch him scan the letter, his expression unreadable, as though the words don’t mean anything to him.
but you notice the slight twitch in his brow when he reads aya’s mention of hina’s mischievous behavior and the mention of your father’s quiet gaze.
he hands the letter back after a moment, his face still impassive, but something lingers in his gaze as he meets your eyes.
“they miss you,” he says simply, though his voice is quieter than usual, less detached.
you swallow hard, trying to steady yourself. you nod, the lump in your throat making it hard to speak. “I miss them too.”
for a long moment, neither of you speaks. the room is thick with the weight of unspoken words, the quiet intimacy of the exchange hanging in the air between you.
you wonder if he understands what it means to miss family—what it means to be torn from them, to feel so distant from the people who raised you, loved you.
you wonder if there’s a part of him that understands loneliness, even though he wears it like a badge of honor.
his expression remains unreadable, and for a moment, you think he’s about to leave, to retreat back into the distance that has characterized most of your interactions.
but then, to your surprise, he speaks again, his words low and deliberate.
“you may go visit them,” he says.
your breath catches in your throat, and you stare at him, eyes wide with disbelief. the words don't seem to register at first, not fully, and you find yourself unable to respond immediately. “what?”
his gaze remains steady, unwavering. “you heard me,” he repeats, a touch of impatience creeping into his tone. “you may visit them. if it’s that important to you.”
the shock slowly fades, replaced by confusion and a strange warmth that spreads in your chest.
you’ve always thought of him as a cold, imposing figure—a man who ruled through fear, who demanded respect through power.
but now, in this moment, you realize that he’s offering you something more than you ever expected. something human.
“I... thank you,” you finally manage to say, your voice barely a whisper.
“don’t make me regret it,” he warns, his voice returning to its usual gravelly tone. “I’m not doing this out of kindness. I simply don’t want you moping around here for the next week.”
you nod, the weight of the gesture sinking in, even as his words remain curt.
you don’t know if sukuna truly cares for you, or if this is just another act of power—his way of testing your limits or asserting control over your emotions.
but for now, you can’t help but feel a flicker of something more, a warmth that feels entirely out of place.
“thank you,” you repeat, your voice firmer now, despite the uncertainty that still lingers in your chest.
he grunts in response, turning to leave, but there’s a moment where his eyes meet yours again. and for the first time since you’ve arrived, you don’t see just the ruthless lord in those dark depths.
the journey back to your family’s home is a blur of emotion. the reunion with aya and hina is everything you imagined and more—warmth, laughter, and the comfort of familiar faces.
for the first time in months, you feel like yourself again, surrounded by the people who’ve always known you.
but even as you relish the joy of your visit, something lingers in the back of your mind. sukuna’s words, his unexpected offer to let you go, echo in your thoughts.
the days with your family fly by too quickly, and you can’t help but feel the ache of leaving them again.
aya hugs you tightly before you leave, her words of encouragement like a balm for the unease building in your chest. “you’ll be okay,” she whispers, her arms tightening around you.
when you return to the estate, everything feels oddly unchanged, yet different. the servants carry on as if your absence was nothing more than a passing breeze, and the cold, vast halls are just as you left them.
but sukuna is nowhere to be found—until you’re alone in the courtyard, unloading your things from the carriage.
the familiar sound of footsteps reaches your ears. the air shifts, heavy with his presence before you even see him. then, his shadow falls over you. you don’t need to look up to know it’s him, but you do anyway.
his gaze fixes on you, unreadable, but his lips are curled in that signature smirk. “back already?” he asks, his voice low.
you stand still, setting down the basket you were holding.
his eyes are sharp, studying you, but there’s an underlying softness you weren’t expecting. you nod, keeping your expression neutral. “I couldn’t stay away forever.”
sukuna doesn’t respond immediately, instead stepping closer. his feet crunch against the gravel.
you can’t help but notice how his gaze lingers on you, assessing, like he’s trying to understand something about you that he hadn’t before.
“do you miss them now?” he asks, his tone surprisingly casual.
you hesitate for a moment, feeling the vulnerability of the question. “of course,” you admit, your voice softer than you intended. “but I missed you, too.”
there’s a brief silence, the words hanging in the air between you. you can see the flicker of surprise in his eyes, something momentarily caught off guard by your honesty.
it’s rare that sukuna is disarmed, but somehow, your admission does just that. his lips quirk, but it’s not the mocking smile you’re used to. this one is different, almost amused in a way that doesn’t feel as patronizing.
“did you now?” he murmurs, taking another step toward you. his hand reaches up, and he places a finger under your chin, lifting your face to meet his gaze.
the touch is intimate, but there’s an unspoken weight to it, like it’s a silent acknowledgment of something neither of you are quite ready to voice. his thumb brushes lightly against your skin, the gesture soft but somehow grounding.
“I didn’t think you’d miss me,” he says quietly, his voice a low rumble, softer than usual.
you’re suddenly acutely aware of the space between you, of the way your heart seems to beat a little faster in your chest, of how his presence pulls you in like gravity.
the tension, always so thick and unyielding before, now feels different—softer, but just as real.
your breath catches. “you’re not as bad as they said you are,” you whisper, your voice barely audible.
sukuna’s eyes narrow slightly, and he takes another small step forward, the tension rising again, only this time it feels like a slow burn.
his fingers curl gently under your chin, his thumb stroking your skin as he leans closer, his breath mingling with yours.
“and you,” he murmurs, voice hushed, “are much more than I gave you credit for.”
before you can respond, something shifts between you. the air crackles with an intensity that neither of you can ignore. his lips are so close now, and you don’t think.
you lean in, your mouth brushing against his, tentative at first, like testing the waters of something new, something dangerous.
but then, without warning, sukuna’s hand grips your waist, pulling you into him. the kiss deepens, slow and steady, as though he’s savoring it, taking his time.
his touch is commanding, yet there’s a tenderness to it that surprises you, a carefulness you didn’t expect from someone like him.
when you finally break apart, your breath mingling in the space between you, there’s a quiet understanding in his eyes.
he doesn’t speak immediately. instead, he holds you close, his hand still resting on your back, steady and sure.
“you’re fully mine now, wife.”

“et j'ai crié, crié "aline!" pour qu'elle revienne, et j'ai pleuré, pleuré, oh j'avais trop de peine”
===+++===
pairing: wednesday addams x reader
summary: sometimes you’d talk about dying to wednesday, though it was something an addams couldn’t ever really fear. that was, until the person being lost was you.
warnings: erm you die lol, major character death, wednesday being sad, mentions of blood, self sacrifice, maybe a little contrived way to die but too bad
word count: 1.6k
A/N: i promise im okay but this was truly an interesting plot line to follow, and i couldn’t bear not writing it down. if it made you sad, don’t worry, because i have more fluffy stuff on the way. it was something short i had considered doing for a long time, so even if this flops i'm completely happy with how it came out.

"Wednesday?" you asked, eyes on the wooden ceiling of her room. From the way her head rests against the warm plane of your chest, she can feel the smooth skin move as you say her name, heart right under her ear. It nearly lulls her to sleep, had it not been a question.
"Yes?" she purrs, lazily propping herself up on her arm. There are heavy weights on her eyelids, but the line of your mouth tells her something is troubling you. You’re too saturnine, much too glum for what you and Wednesday just did, and her eyes soften imperceptibly, her thumb going to your side to quietly stroke itself back and forth there. “What’s plaguing you?”
You can’t help but shudder at the contact of her hand and the goosebumps the pads of her fingers leave in their wake. “Are you... do you...," you attempt, the question falling flat on your tongue. She furrows her eyebrows at your hesitation.
"Say your thoughts,” she says, forehead creased in concern. It's almost funny, how caring and soft she is, now that she's given up on trying to seem aloof and apathetic towards you, her skin warm against your own.
The Addams Curse to love someone with every fibre of their being had taken hold of Wednesday entirely, and she looked at you sometimes like you held her beating heart in your hands, or at least like she'd cut it out for you, if you were to need it. She raises a hand, gently brushing a few hairs from your forehead.
“Are you afraid of dying?”
Her eyebrows furrow even further, scanning your face for any indicators of harm. “Where is this coming from? Has something been done to you?”
But you shrug, finally looking down to look her in the eyes with softness. “I was just wondering… are you?”
She narrows her eyes. “You know I’m an Addams. Death is a friend, not a foe. Fear of that serves no purpose. Only cowardice from facing a fight. Only to make you weak.”
Your eyes flit away. “Hm.” There’s no hiding of disagreement in your tone, and it has an embarrassing amount of power over her, how she itches to know what goes on in that head of yours.
“What?”
“I think… I think my fear is what makes me strong. I’m afraid of losing those I care about. And so I fight with every bit of sweat, blood, and tears that I have. Your loss is my deepest fear, Wednesday. My deepest.”
She stared at you momentarily, then looked out the window to the stars. “How is one to fear death when it is far from the end? Death may take me from your sight, but it cannot take me from your heart. There I live, vibrant and whole. Forever.”
===+++===
You’d never even realised how much blood the human body could actually hold, until you were standing there in the centre of the quad with an arrow straight right below your heart, its steel tip poking from your back. Your own blood coated your hands where you cupped it, dribbling down the splintered wood and splattering in droplets to the cobblestone in thick, dark red splotches.
The blood— your blood— is coming out even more now, and you turn to look at Wednesday, where you had shoved her out of harm’s way. Her eyes are wide in horror, like she's seeing something straight from a nightmare of hers, and you take a clammy step towards her, frigid and burning at the same time.
“Wens—” you stammer, and suddenly your knees are giving out. She rushes forward, trying to catch you in her arms, but you're too heavy, deadweight that tugs on her. You fall onto them, your knees, clutching at the newly opened maw of your chest with a gasp, and before you know it you’re falling forward towards the floor.
Wednesday follows you down, catching you before you can land, and she holds you tight, turning you over onto your back as the arrow sticks straight up from the heart she cherishes so much. The wood is already splintering, nearly falling apart, and her hand goes to your wound as if trying to put your blood back into your body.
It’s uncomfortable, with the metal tip of Xavier’s arrow sticking from the back of your chest and lightly prodding at her front, but she squeezes you tightly against herself, hands frantically travelling the length of your torso and raking over your arms, anywhere she can reach. But there’s nothing she can do. It’s a thought she refuses to confront, but Wednesday specialised in dealing with dead things; she was unfamiliar with how to keep things alive, no matter how much she needed you to stay that way.
Crackstone is cackling from his belly, a toothy sneer spreading itself out onto his leathery face as he looks at the damage he’s done, stomping towards you. “Hey!” Bianca yells from the opposite door, and the pilgrim whips around, as Xavier takes another shot at him. It lands in the pilgrim’s arm but he pulls it out like a twig, snapping it and tossing it to the ground, before he makes his way towards Bianca.
Your white shirt is completely soaking itself in your blood, droplets running down Wednesday’s fingers where she tries to hold the wound and apply pressure. But there was no saving a skewered heart.
"No, no, no," she coos, voice barely above a whisper and tears already pricking at the corners of her eyes. You're crying out in pain as the arrow shifts within you, fingers scrabbling at Wednesday's arms where they hold at you. Your fingernails sink into her skin, and she winces but doesn't pull away.
"Wens," you say again, infinitely weaker than before. "Wednesday…” It’s like your mouth won’t move coherently with your brain, like words mean trudging through ice and slush to come out, even the red-hot ones you need to say. “H—Hurts,” you spit out, and with it comes a small stream of blood from your mouth as you cough and air becomes less and less available.
She nods in a rush, tears beginning to stream down her cheeks. “I’m aware, I know,” she’s completely crying now. “We will get you care, cara mia, just hol— just hold on for a little while.” But you’re shaking your head.
“Don’t have— I don’t have—” you’re coughing up more blood, and she wipes it from your chin with a shaky hand. There’s just too much of it, everywhere. You had once gifted her some as a token of your devotion and it was a prized possession of hers, but now there was so much and she would have given it back in a heartbeat if it gave you any more of those.
She can vaguely hear Bianca and Xavier yelling on the other side of the quad, and various fires rage on in their chaotic yet vibrant corners, tickling against her skin in large crackles, burning in the reflection of your eyes that stare up at the sky. Your head is leaning against her shoulder, and she raises her hand, stroking through your soft hair as you heave in her arms.
“You must live, I promise you,” Wednesday insists fiercely, “I promise you, if you die right now, I will kill you.” But its tears that streak down her face, her jaw clenching and dark eyeliner running down her cheeks. She’s squeezing you right against herself, feeling the pain of the sharp arrow poke at her own skin.
“Vibrant and wh—whole?” you said with a smile, feeling your voice begin to slow down and with it, the beating of your heart. The blood has pooled in a sick puddle around your body.
She’s shaking her head. “Cara mia, we don’t need to do this, we will get you to a doctor. You will be—”
“—Wednesday,” you interrupt. Your voice has reached an eerie calm that sends a shiver down her spine, and it snaps her from any sort of hope. “Vibrant… and whole?”
She looks down at you for a moment, tracing the features of your nose, the planes of your cheeks, the colours of your eyes and the wryness of your smile. Wednesday swallows. “Forever. You know that. You must always know that.”
You nod, letting out a small laugh. It hurts, she can hear you wheeze right after you done it, but you sit in silence for a moment, and she can feel you get slower and slower, and your shirt gets redder and redder. The tears are uncontrollable, now, as she sits there with you. Her friends are losing in the corner, but she's losing something unthinkable, and she's so damn scared the entire time it's happening.
"The stars look beautiful tonight," you whisper so only she can hear it, your voice cracking at the end. In seconds, you're gone. She can feel the life, the glorious life, evaporate from you, your head lulling back against her and your weight becoming a hundred times heavier, but she doesn't move, squeezing you against her.
She's unsure how long she stays like that, but when she can no longer take it, she shifts, laying you down on the ground. You look peaceful, looking up at the stars, and it takes an effort to close your eyes that Wednesday had never felt with the dead before. She gently closes them, shutting the door on the eyes that used to captivate her very heart. It's almost like she could convince herself that you're only resting for a moment, and she leans over you, placing a meaningful kiss upon your forehead, just like she would when she snuck out after a night of sleeping over, and there were no prying eyes there to watch.
"Vibrant and whole," she whispers like a promise, turning back to the fight with a piece of the sword in her shaking fists. "For you, cara mia."

the cup holds the tea
it hits you all at once and you’re out of the booth in a flash, spencer right behind you. you’ve barely made it to the sidewalk when the drinks betray you—straight onto spencer’s shoes. the world blurs, and all you can think, mortified, is that you’ve just broken one of the cardinal rules of dating.
pairing: spencer reid x fem!reader (second person, no y/n)
genre: fluff
content: bau!reader has too much to drink and its up to bf!spencer to get her home. and brief mentions of puke... oh reader...
word count: 3k
note: well personally i don't know if i could ever love someone enough where i would lay on my bed in my 'outside clothes' but good on you spence! once i slipped and fell in someone's puke and cried all the way home.
a line: They’ve seen Spencer look at a thousand things with fascination—books, theories, puzzles, statistics. But this? This is something else entirely.

It is a kind of love, is it not? How the cup holds the tea, How the chair stands sturdy and foursquare, How the floor receives the bottoms of shoes Or toes. How soles of feet know Where they’re supposed to be. - pat schneider
Tumblr media
The room hangs on your words, the perfect moment of suspense stretched like a tightrope. You let it linger, savoring the pause.
“And they ate every last drop of it!”
The punchline lands, and laughter spills out around the table, loud and easy. You beam. Spencer watches you, his gaze warm, almost reverent. He’s always known you had this gift—how you could spin a story, command a room. If he weren’t so completely in love with you, he might’ve envied it. No amount of books or degrees could teach him your knack for recounting stories with such flair, or your ability to whip up comebacks at speeds that leave even Derek speechless.
Spencer’s lucky, and he knows it. His eyes trace the curve of your smile as you sip from your glass, your third—or fourth? He’s lost count. He notices you’re not wincing at its taste anymore and well, you know what they say when the drinks start to taste like water. The fact that you’re tearing up at something Garcia’s showing you—a sloth video, from what he can tell, doesn’t ease his worries in the slightest either. He's not entirely sure what Emily has been ordering for the table but whatever it is, it’s clearly doing its job.
It’s one of those rare nights out, the kind where the team sets work aside and pretends, for a few hours, that the weight of the world isn’t on their shoulders. Rossi had insisted, his treat he said, but Spencer suspects it was just an excuse for the team to watch you two loosen up, to let your guard down. A carefully orchestrated opportunity for the team to see something they hardly ever got to see. They’ve seen you two in the field, sharp and focused, in sync like clockwork. But tonight it's the way you lean into Spencer’s side without realizing it, the way Spencer gently moves your glass out of harm’s way when you gesture too wildly. This is a glimpse of something sacred, something rare.
It’d only been about a month since you and Spencer had made it official. Everyone saw it coming long before you did, but that didn’t stop the teasing once the news broke. They could barely pick their jaws up from off the floor even tonight when Spencer had his hand resting lightly on your waist, steadying you through the crowd as you laughed yourself breathless, stumbling. At work, you both keep it professional, steering clear of anything that might make Hotch raise an eyebrow. But the dim light of the bar is ever so tempting. The bar is full of loud laughter and clinking glasses and you just can’t help but take Spencer's hand into yours, fingers laced without hesitation.
Spencer catches the way Derek’s eyes light up at the sight, the subtle nudge he gives Emily. He knows they’re going to bring this up later, probably all week.
But he doesn’t move his hand. He doesn’t let go.
The booth is packed tight as you’re all wedged together, shoulders brushing. Everyone’s smiling, unwinding in a way you rarely allow yourselves to, laughter bouncing in overlapping bursts. Spencer sits nursing his water, content to observe. His eyes are drawn back to you over and over, catching on the way your eyes crinkle when you laugh and the animated gestures of you make as you speak.
“C’mon, pretty boy, live a little,” Derek teases, “Just one drink.”
Spencer gives a sheepish smile, waving it off. “I’m fine,” he says, eyes flicking over to you once more.
He can’t keep his eyes off you tonight, it seems. You’re laughing, and It’s unmistakable, the adoration in his gaze, something so un-Spencer-like that makes Derek smile.
He knows Spencer’s not one to drink. You, on the other hand, seem a little too eager, maybe encouraged by Emily’s coaxing, and you’re already on your next drink, cheeks bright and eyes sparkling. You lean into Garcia’s cheers, your glass lifted high. Your laughter is bright and unrestrained, pulling everyone else along with it.
Spencer considers saying something when you're giggling a little more than usual, laughing too hard at a joke that doesn't warrant it. But he knows how you’d take it. You’d wave him off with that familiar insistence, the same as always. It wasn't like you couldn't hold your own, Spencer knows that. You’d held your own at Rossi’s birthday last year just fine, outlasting nearly everyone—everyone except Rossi of course. And that’s probably why he’d already taken his leave tonight, not wanting to get caught in the tail end of whatever chaos this night will inevitably bring.
But that was then and now— Well, it’s different now. Now, the role of boyfriend sits heavier on his shoulders, a title he’s all too happy to hold. And tonight, it’s a card he’s all too happy to play. It gives him leverage, an edge that makes him feel like he has a little more room to step in without you pulling the I don’t need anyone to take care of me speech.
Spencer sees his opening as lean back into his side a little too comfortably. “Here,” he murmurs, pressing his glass into your hand. “Drink this.”
He hopes you’re just tipsy enough not to ask too many questions, as long as it’s something from the bar. For a moment, it seems like it works—you sit up, eyeing the glass cautiously, then take it from him with slow deliberation.
Almost there, he thinks.
You peer into the glass, squinting at the clear liquid, then give it a small sniff. Spencer’s heart sinks as your expression shifts.
“This is water,” you say, suspiciously.
“Yes, it is,” he admits.
Your brow furrows, the faintest pout tugging at your lips. “I’m drinking vodka.”
“And now you’re drinking water.”
“Why?”
“Because I love you, and I’d rather not carry you out of here tonight,” he says softly, the faintest flush colouring his cheeks.
You look up at him, unimpressed, but he stays firm. “Just drink the water, sweetheart,” he says quietly, his voice barely cutting through the noise.
He braces himself for your resistance. Instead, you huff, give him a pointed glare, and drink it. He watches as you sip, your nose scrunching at the lack of a bite. Spencer lets out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding.
The night winds on, the team louder than usual, swept up in Derek’s overly dramatic retelling of the prank war that once took over the bullpen. But you’re quieter, Spencer notices, the drinks maybe finally settling in a little too fast. Your smile slower, your laughter softer, head resting on his shoulder now and again.
And then, suddenly, you’re not looking so well. It hits you all at once. The queasy welling in your stomach, the cold sweat prickling your skin. You’re out of the booth in a flash, Spencer right behind you as you stumble toward the door, your hand clamped over your mouth.
You’ve barely made it to the sidewalk when the drinks betray you—straight onto Spencer’s shoes. The world blurs, and all you can think, mortified, is that you’ve just broken one of the cardinal rules of dating.
Of all people it had to be Spencer—germ-conscious, always-prepared Spencer—your lovely boyfriend who at this moment you’re not sure you can ever look in the eyes again Spencer.
You don’t have to look up to see the team’s reaction as they round the corner, wide-eyed as they process what just happened. Derek’s mouth falls open in disbelief, Emily stares in shock, and Garcia whispers a dramatic, “Oh, no…”
They’re frozen. Because Spencer—Spencer, who uses hand sanitizer like it’s an extension of his arm, Spencer who’s the first to scrunch his nose at anything remotely messy—has just had his shoes christened in the worst way. You know they’re waiting for Spencer’s reaction, the tense recoil, the carefully contained grimace.
But it doesn’t come.
Instead, Spencer pauses, takes a measured breath, and steps closer to you, his hands steady on your shoulders. “Hey,” he asks, voice low and soothing as he crouches to meet your gaze. “Sweetheart, you okay?” He brushes your hair away from your face, his touch careful and kind.
“Spence—” you mumble, your voice cracking with embarrassment. Your hands fly to cover your face. “I’m so sorry. Your shoes—oh my God, your shoes—”
Spencer shakes his head, a quiet laugh escaping as he crouches to steady you. His voice is impossibly gentle, calm in a way that eases the edges of your shame. “It’s fine. They’re just shoes,” he says softly, brushing a strand of hair away from your flushed face. “Let’s get you home, okay?”
You nod, eyes shut, clearly mortified but he doesn’t let you dwell on it. He takes your hand, his grip firm but gentle. For a brief moment, Spencer contemplates asking the bartender for a glass of water to rinse off the mess, but he glances at you—your slightly swaying frame, the way your head droops just a little—and decides against it.
Getting you home safely takes precedence over everything else. Shoes can wait. You can’t.
Emily’s mouth falls open slightly as she watches, “Did Reid just…?” she murmurs, half to herself, as Derek gapes beside her. “Didn’t think the kid had it in him,” Derek says, shaking his head, a grin slowly spreading. Garcia sniffs, dramatically dabbing at her eyes. “I knew he loved her, but this? This is another level.” she says letting out a dreamy sigh.
They linger, watching as Spencer guides you steadily toward the car with careful patience. He helps you in, crouching to fasten your seatbelt. You’re still mumbling apologies, your voice thick with embarrassment, but Spencer doesn’t falter. Instead, he shrugs off his jacket, draping it over your shoulders even as the mess on his shoes remains. There’s not even a hint of disgust on his face—if anything, he’s focused, caring, murmuring words of reassurance as he tucks his jacket around you. His hand lingers on yours, his thumb brushing over your knuckles in a silent promise that nothing about this has shaken him.
“I’m so sorry, Spence,” you whisper again, your voice small and heavy with guilt. “I ruined your shoes. And your jacket. And—”
“It’s fine. You’re fine. Besides, I was planning to throw them out anyway.”
You shake your head weakly, your tone petulant even through your embarrassment. “Nooo, don’t throw them out because of me.”
His lips twitch, amusement flickering in his eyes. “Well, what do you suggest I do with them, angel?”
“I’ll wash them,” you declare, your words slow and sleepy.
Spencer raises an eyebrow, clearly entertained. “You’ll wash them?”
“Mhmm,” you murmur, already halfway to drifting off against the seat.
“How about we get you home first and then worry about the shoes, okay?” he says gently.
“’Kay,” you whisper, your voice barely audible as sleep begins to take hold.
Spencer stands, glancing back at the bar where the team is gathered. They’re not even pretending to hide their stares anymore, and he knows he’s going to hear about this for weeks. He raises a hand in a small, sheepish wave before climbing into the driver’s seat.
Derek shakes his head, laughing softly. “He’s gone,” he says, his voice carrying just enough awe to balance the humor. “Kid’s completely gone.”
Emily doesn’t need to ask what he means. Neither does Garcia. Because they’ve seen Spencer look at a thousand things with fascination—books, theories, puzzles, statistics. But this?
This is something else entirely.
The ride home is quiet, save for the occasional slurred apology from you. Spencer reassures you with the same soft patience each time, his hand steady on the wheel and his gaze flickering to you every so often, checking to make sure you’re okay. By the time he gets you home, your protests have faded, replaced by the heavy pull of exhaustion.
His arm remains firm around your waist, steadying you as he helps you inside, careful and methodical in the way he moves. He guides you to the bathroom, where you try to freshen up, fumbling with the faucet and splashing water on your face. Spencer steps in without hesitation and takes over when your movements falter. His touch is featherlight, but there’s no mistaking the care in every movement. The closeness makes your cheeks flush, though whether it’s from lingering embarrassment or something else entirely, you’re too tired to decipher.
“You don’t have to,” you murmur, your words sluggish but sincere.
“Of course I do,” he replies, his voice light but firm. “I want to.”
He guides you to the bedroom with careful steps, his hand steady on the small of your back. Once there, he sets a glass of water on the nightstand, the gentle clink breaking the quiet.
“Drink,” he coaxes softly, his tone patient but firm.
You take the glass without protest, sipping obediently. Spencer watches, a small smile tugging at his lips. He considers making a playful comment about how quickly you’re drinking it now—so much easier than earlier—but he decides against it.
You’ve been through enough tonight, he thinks.
When he finally tucks you into bed, you’re too tired to resist. You mumble something incoherent, your hand brushing his as he leans in. Spencer pauses, his gaze lingering on your face—peaceful now, the traces of the evening’s mishaps melting away. He presses a light kiss to your forehead, his lips lingering for just a moment longer than necessary.
Spencer steps out of the room, leaving the door cracked just enough to hear you if you call out. He lingers in the hallway for a moment, his shoulders sagging slightly now that the night’s adrenaline has begun to wane. He glances down at his shoes—still damp and stained. With a resigned sigh, he makes his way to the kitchen, grabbing a plastic bag. He slips the shoes inside, tying the bag tightly before heading outside. The cold air bites at his skin as he steps toward the dumpster behind his building.
He stands there for a moment, holding the bag. The sight of the shoes, oddly enough, makes him smile. It’s ridiculous, he knows. They’re just shoes. Ruined, stained, completely unsalvageable. But they’re also a reminder of tonight—a reminder of how he’d taken care of you, how you’d let him take care of you.
With a soft thud, the bag lands in the dumpster. Spencer dusts off his hands, turning back toward the building. When Spencer steps back into his apartment, the soft hum of the heater greets him, a gentle reminder of the warmth waiting inside. And there you are, standing in his shirt in the doorway of his bedroom. Spencer thinks it's a sight he'll never get tired of.
There's a pout tugging at your lips. “Where’d you go?” you ask, your voice thick with sleep and just a hint of a whine.
“Had to throw out the shoes angel,” he says as he steps into the kitchen to wash his hands.
Your gasp is exaggerated like he’s just committed an unspeakable betrayal. “I thought I told you I’d wash them!” you exclaim, your voice rising.
“And I thought I tucked you into bed,” Spencer counters, his laugh soft and full of affection. “Why are you out of bed sweetheart?”
You shuffle closer, blinking up at him with drowsy eyes. “Missed you,” you say simply, your earlier outrage regarding the shoes already forgotten. “Wanna cuddle.”
Spencer’s expression softens, but he gestures to his clothes. “I’m dirty,” he reminds you gently, pointing to the coat still hanging off his shoulders and the shoes he’s yet to remove. “Outside clothes, remember?”
“Change then,” you reply stubbornly, tugging at his sleeve as though that’s the simplest solution in the world.
“I need to shower first,” he says, his voice patient as he begins to guide you back toward the bedroom.
“I didn’t shower either,” you argue, leaning heavily into his side as though that somehow strengthens your case.
“Because you’re drunk,” he replies with a small smile.
“Am not,” you insist, though your tone is far from convincing.
“Wanna tell that to my shoes?” Spencer teases, raising a brow.
You ignore him, brushing past his comment with a huff. “You’ll take too long,” you complain, your bottom lip jutting out in a pout. “I’ll miss you.”
“And I’ll miss you too,” he replies, his voice tinged with amusement as he tucks a strand of hair behind your ear.
“Then cuddle,” you plead, your tone slipping into that sing-song quality you know he can’t resist. “Pleaseee”
Spencer hesitates, the logical part of him warring with the sight of you—soft, vulnerable, and looking at him like he hung the stars. He knows you’re usually the enforcer of the outside-clothes rule, a stickler for order when sober. But right now, you’re anything but sober, and he can’t find it in himself to deny you.
“Pleaseee,” you say again, drawing out the word for emphasis, “I’ll buy you new shoes,” your eyes wide and imploring.
He knows you probably will.
“Enough about the shoes,” Spencer rolls his eyes fighting back a smirk, “Just help me change the sheets tomorrow,” he relents, his voice warm with affection.
He knows you probably won’t. But he lets you drag him toward the bed anyways.
You beam, looping your arms around his waist in triumph. “Knew you wouldn’t say no,” you mumble into his chest.
Spencer laughs softly as you settle against him, burying your face in his chest with a soft, muffled sigh. He feels his heart swell in a way he can’t quite put into words. He’s never been one for mess—for dirt, grime, or anything out of place. Heck, he hadn't even wanted to shake your hand the first time he met you. It’s in his nature to keep things neat, orderly, clean. But now, with you?
His shoes could be ruined, his clothes crumpled, and the night an absolute whirlwind. And still, all he can think about is how peaceful you look now, your eyelids fluttering shut as sleep starts to claim you.
Spencer presses a kiss to the top of your head, his hand moving in slow, soothing circles along your back.
For you and only you, he thinks, he’d make an exception every time.

Damaged - part 2
previous || next (coming soon)
Azriel x f! reader
After a long and arduous recovery, you are finally able to feel safe in the House of Wind. You can't help but feeling as if something, or someone, is missing.
Word Count: 2777
Warnings: Reader healing from wounds, some mentions of past trauma (including blood, violence, and abuse), Rhys being nice (?)
A/N: Holy shit, thank you all for the love on part 1. I was not expecting that AT ALL, but I’m really glad you’re all enjoying it! This is, sadly, another part without much Az, but he’s coming (he's WHAT), I promise 😊
masterlist || request guidelines
Tumblr media
The past week was a blur of darkness and pain. Your only real memories consisted of hazy visions of winged males, swirling shadows, and an elderly female fae with kind brown eyes.
As your eyes drifted open, you were blinded by the brightness flowing into the room from the opened curtains. The elder fae you had seen throughout your recovery hissed at someone else in the room, “Morrigan, close that curtain. You’ll give the poor girl a headache.”
Your blurry vision began to clear as the panging in your head became apparent. The pain seemingly spread throughout your body as you fully woke. A groan escaped you as you tried to shift yourself up to better observe the unfamiliar room you found yourself in, only to be gently pushed down by the same female that had just spoken.
“Don’t try to sit up. You’ve recovered a lot, but you still need rest.” Her voice was kind but strict, leaving no room for debate.
When you spoke, your voice came out rough, throat feeling like ash, “where am I?”
Another voice filled your ears as a beautiful female with golden hair moved into your vision, “you’re safe. Cassian and Rhys got you to the House of Wind just in time.” She sounded like honey; soft and sweet.
Her words registered with you, “Rhys, as in high lord Rhysand?” You again tried to sit up in the bed, shocked that Cassian had brought you to the home of the high lord.
The younger fae, who you had figured out was the Morrigan, laughed as the other huffed at you, but she didn’t push you back down. You leaned your back against the headboard, the wood cold against your wings.
“Don’t say it like he’s some god, he’ll get even more of an ego. But yes, the high lord. He winnowed you from just outside of Ironcrest.”
The older female spoke next, “and you’re lucky he did. If you had gotten here any later…” She shook her head, dismissing the thought.
Your heart clenched at the thought that you had almost died.
The two females in the room seemed to notice your thoughts as your eyes glazed over, your last conscious memories replaying in your mind. Morrigan gently grasped your hand, “you’re safe now. I promise those males won’t ever lay a hand on you again.”
A tear fell from your eye as you turned your head to look at her, “I just wanted to be able to defend myself.”
“Those cowards cornered you. It was three against one. Even if you had been training with Cas for years, they would still have had an advantage.” Anger and disgust laced her voice, and the glint in your eyes told you that these were not the first cowardly males she had encountered.
You nodded at her words, but no response escaped you. You couldn’t shake the thought that if you had just been stronger, you could have protected yourself. Or if you had just obeyed your brother’s wishes, you wouldn’t even be in this situation.
Morrigan seemed to sense your reluctance to accept her words as truth, so she turned to the other female in the room. “Madja, do you think it would be alright for her to eat something?”
The elderly fae nodded, swiftly leaving the room. Morrigan sat on the bed next to you, careful not to move your injured body, “Cassian told me your name is Y/N, right?”
You nodded, and she continued, “You can call me Mor. Cassian didn’t tell me much about what happened before the attack, but I promise you that the people here will never treat you the way you were treated back in the camp.”
You didn’t have the words to respond. Part of you hoped what she was saying was true, but another part of you knew that your brother, despite his faults, had always looked out for you. Until now, that is.
“If you want to train once you’re all healed, Cassian and I can help you. If you want to go back to Ironcrest, that is your choice, though one I would hate for you to make.”
You furrowed your brows at her, “You would let me stay? You don’t even know me.”
She smiled softly at you, “let’s just say our high lord has a soft spot for those who have experienced the worst this world has to offer. And Cas has told us enough about you for all of us to trust you.”
Gently, you squeezed her hand, “did he tell you I was the most difficult fae he’s ever had to train?”
Mor laughed, the sound falling gracefully onto your ears and drawing a small smile to your lips. “He told us you had the balance of a newborn fawn, but that you were determined in your training.”
“Do you really think he’d want to train me even after seeing how utterly defenseless I was against those males?” You asked softly, the smile falling from your face.
She looked at you with a kindness you rarely saw, “I’ll say it until your ears bleed, those males are cowards, and it took three of them to face you. You weren’t defenseless and you are not hopeless, you just need training and some more confidence. Cassian would be lucky to have you as a trainee.”
You nodded, “okay then. I’d like to stay here and train.”
Suddenly, Madja entered the room, “not until you are fully healed. You will stay here and rest until I say.” She placed a tray holding bowl of soup and a glass of water on the table next to your bed. “I swear, all you Illyrians are the same, never wanting to heal, always wanting to train,” she mumbled.
Tumblr media
Madja didn’t clear you to leave the bed for another three days. In that time, Cassian, Rhysand, and Mor all took turns keeping you company. The first time you had met the high lord, you had clumsily tried to bow from your place in the bed, which more so looked like you trying to fold yourself in half. Of course, with the aching pain in your chest and stomach, this was accompanied by a grimace, which was not the face you had wanted to greet your high lord with. He had chuckled, waving you off with a “please, you’re a guest in my home, I don’t need the theatrics.”
You had quickly developed friendship with each of them, but none as close as Cassian. Perhaps because he was the fae you were most familiar with, or you just associated him with the feeling of safety.
You had thought of asking Cassian about the shadow-made man, but something in your gut stopped you from doing so. Perhaps you had just imagined him, and they would think you were mad if you brought him up.
By the time you were finally allowed to train, almost 2 weeks after waking up, you had begun to feel at home in the House of Wind. You’d had meals with Rhys, Cassian, Mor, and Amren, a member of the household who seemed much older than a high fae should be. Mor had promised once you were at full health, she and Cassian would show you the city and take you shopping, to which Cassian huffed at.
You started to feel at peace.
That was until Cassian woke you up before dawn one day, demanding you change into training clothes that Mor had provided you and meet him in the training arena on top of the house. Though tired, you eagerly complied, excited to start back the training you had gotten so little of back at camp.
When you got to the arena, you marveled at the extensive sand pit and the weapons that hung on racks around it. Cassian laughed at your amusement, “normally Az and I spar with just our hands, but sometimes we practice with the weapons, either on our own or with each other.”
“Az?” You questioned.
Cas’s eyes went wide with realization, “that’s right, you weren’t exactly… conscious when he was here. Azriel is my brother,” he grinned, thinking of the male. “He’s also our court’s spymaster, so he comes and goes pretty frequently. He’s off on a mission to who knows where right now, but he should be back by the end of the week. He keeps to himself, so you probably won’t see much of him when he is here, but once you get to know him, he’s a good guy.”
You nod, wondering if this was the shadow man you had believed your mind made up. But Cassian seemed so bright, you doubted his brother would be covered in such darkness. “Well, I look forward to meeting him.”
Tumblr media
Your return to training was slow, but every morning you went up to the arena, Cas pushed you a little harder. By the end of your first week of training, you felt back to the way you were before you’d been attacked at camp.
Everyone was impressed by your progress, including yourself. You had expected to be haunted by the memories of those males, but you instead let it push you to train harder, wanting to ensure you were never in that situation again.
“Would you accompany out to the city today? I have a few things I’d like to pick up and I want to show you around.” Rhys asked you while you were clearing the table from breakfast. “And, no offense, I think it’s time you pick out your own clothes instead of whatever Mor decides to gift you.”
You chuckled, looking down at the dress the female had given you that day. It was tighter than you were used to a dress being, and much more revealing than anything you’d worn in the camps. Mor had called it modest by her standards.
With a bright smile at the high fae, you said, “I would love to.”
The city of Velaris, Rhys informed you, was his closest kept secret, and you could immediately tell why. The bright colors of the Rainbow and the display of culture throughout the city instantly had your heart pounding with excitement. This was a safe haven in the night court, and you felt incredibly lucky that Rhysand had trusted you enough to bring you here.
He had stopped by a few shops, buying himself a new jacket that seemed to absorb darkness and a set of earrings that he intended to gift to Amren as a Solstice present. As you walked, he told you about the different shops in the city and stories of its inhabitants.
Your eyes went wide as he opened the door to a bakery, the smell of sugary bread filling your nostrils. Pastries you had never heard of lined the shelves of a glass case. He bought you a sweet bun filled with lemon-flavored icing, and you swore it was the best thing you’d ever tasted.
“I forgot how bland the food is at the markets back in the camps. Now that you’re in Velaris, I’ll make sure you get to experience the best food we have to offer.” He spoke as you gobbled up the sugary goodness.
You swallowed before speaking, “I really don’t know how I can ever repay your kindness, Rhysand. Seriously.”
He waved you off, “keep training and gathering your strength, and I’m sure I can find you a place in my circle. But even if you never work for me, I will continue to spoil you with the goodness of this city. You deserve it.”
Happy tears filled your eyes as he spoke. You had never experienced such care before arriving to the House of Wind, and now it all felt overwhelming. “I don’t have words to explain how honored I am to be here. One day, I will find a way to repay your kindness.”
He smirked playfully, “well, until you do, I’m going to continue to spoil you. I was thinking we could visit the clothes shops in the palace of thread and jewels.”
Tumblr media
By the time you had finished shopping, you and Rhys were surrounded by bags filled with clothes and shoes. You insisted you would pay him back, but he simply waved off the expense as a “welcome present.”
The sky was dark as you exited the last shop, and your eyes widened as you spotted the lights lining the river that ran through the city. The high lord seemed to take notice of your amazement, as if he had expected it. “It’s even better from above,” he said quietly. With a wave of his hands, the bags in your arms disappeared.
You were shocked at the easy display of magic, until you realized what he had implied. You looked at him sadly, “I can’t- my wings-“
“I’ll carry you,” he cut you off. You nodded, thankful he understood. He picked you up, strong arms beneath your back and knees, before shooting off into the sky. You wrapped your own arms tightly around his neck as you screeched, the sudden weightlessness of flying catching you off guard.
There was something about being in the air that felt so natural. You knew it was due to your heritage, as Illyrians belonged in the sky, but you had never had the opportunity to actually experience it until now.
And Rhys was right, the city was somehow more beautiful from up here. The lights reflected off the Sidra, the waves making them appear to dance. The city squares seemed alive with lights and people. It was all breathtaking.
Rhys carried you through the air, dipping low before shooting high, as if playing a game of tag with the wind. You laughed as it blew your hair in all different directions. You stayed in the air for almost an hour, though you felt as if you could’ve stayed for years, before you landed on a balcony back in the House of Wind.
“Thank you for that, truly.” You spoke to him, removing your arms from his neck as your feet touched the ground.
He smiled at you, “any time.”
As you both walked into the seating room you had landed outside of, your breath is halted in your throat at the site of a male that had haunted your dreams since you arrived at the house.
Hazel eyes studied you for a moment before moving over to the male standing next to you. “Rhys, we need to talk.”
Rhys smirked, prancing to a nearby bar cart and pouring himself a glass of fae wine, “nice to see you too, brother. Glad you’re home safe.”
The stunning male’s expression remained neutral as he stared at Rhysand, unamused at his antics. You studied the angled bones of his cheeks and jaw, the shadows that swirled around his shoulders and neck. This was the man you had thought you imagined. And now that you had seen him, you were even more interested in learning more about him.
“Rhys.” His tone was stern. His voice pulled goosebumps to your skin, the deepness fitting his dark and shadowy appearance.
The high lord gave you a pitiful smile, “your bags are in your room, y/n, if you’d like to go admire your new belongings. Azriel and I need to discuss some things.”
You nodded, understanding his words for the dismissal they were. In that moment you also realized that this was the Azriel that Cassian had spoken to you so highly about. You remembered his words, “he keeps to himself… but once you get to know him, he’s a good guy.”
You hoped you could find out for yourself.
As you made your way up the stairs, you couldn’t stop thinking about the beautiful stranger’s face, the toned body underneath his Illyrian leathers, and the shadows that seemed to keep him constant company.
You would definitely try to find out for yourself.

Reader request with Rafe. Maybe she breaks down sobbing in the middle of sex and he has no idea why, thinking he hurt her. Her reasons aren’t bad. As someone that has only been with one person personally, and he was such a selfish uncaring lover, I legit think I would start sobbing in bed if someone was loving and caring towards me and treating me like the most precious thing. Love your writing <3
a/n: thank you so much for requesting...hope you like it!!⭐️
the room was drenched in golden light, the low hum of the bedside lamp the only sound as rafe’s hands roamed your body. his palms were warm against your skin, calloused but soft in their touch, tracing a path down your sides like he was discovering you for the first time. his lips followed, pressing kisses that started at your neck and trailed lower, his breath hot and deliberate.
“you okay?” he murmured, the deep rasp of his voice sending a shiver down your spine. his fingers hooked under the hem of your shirt, brushing the bare skin of your stomach as he paused to look at you.
your lips parted, and though you nodded, the tightness in your throat betrayed you. “yeah,” you whispered. “i’m okay.”
rafe studied your face, his brow furrowing slightly before he leaned down to kiss you again. it wasn’t rushed, wasn’t desperate, but slow, sensual, the kind of kiss that set your skin alight. his tongue slid against yours, coaxing a soft moan from your lips as his hand moved lower, slipping between your legs.
“god, you’re so wet for me,” he murmured, his voice thick with awe and desire. his fingers stroked you gently, building heat that spread through your entire body, but there was nothing hurried about the way he moved. "my baby, so perfect." he almost purred, everything about him was deliberate, like he wanted to savor every second of this—every second of you.
you arched into his touch, your hands clutching at his broad shoulders as he pressed his body closer to yours. his hips rocked against you, his movements careful but firm, and the pressure sent sparks of pleasure through your veins.
but that was the moment it all became too much.
your chest tightened, your breath hitching as the weight of everything crashed down at once. the tenderness, the patience, the care—it was everything you’d never known, everything you thought you didn’t deserve. and suddenly, the tears came.
a sob tore from your throat, raw and unbidden, cutting through the heated silence like a knife.
rafe froze instantly, his body going rigid above you as his eyes snapped to your face. “y/n?” his voice was sharp with concern, his hands pulling back like he was afraid he’d hurt you. “what—did i—did i hurt you?”
you shook your head, tears spilling freely now as you pressed a trembling hand to your face. “no,” you managed, your voice cracking. “no, you didn’t hurt me. i’m sorry, i—”
“hey, hey,” he interrupted, his hands hovering near your arms but not quite touching. his voice softened, though there was still a note of panic in it. “don’t apologize. just tell me what’s wrong. did i do something? did i push too far?”
you shook your head again, harder this time, your tears soaking into the pillow beneath you. “no, rafe. it’s not you. it’s… it’s me.”
his brow furrowed, confusion flickering across his face as he searched your eyes for answers. “what do you mean? you’re crying, baby. i don’t know what to do.”
the raw vulnerability in his voice broke something inside you. you forced yourself to take a shaky breath, your hands trembling as you reached up to touch his face. “i’m crying because you’re too good to me,” you admitted, the words tumbling out in a rush.
rafe blinked, clearly caught off guard. “what?”
“you’re too good to me,” you repeated, your voice barely above a whisper. “i’ve only ever been with one person before, and he… he didn’t care about me. not really. it was always about him—what he wanted, what he could take. i got used to that, and now… now you’re here, and you’re so kind and patient, and i don’t know how to handle it.”
his expression shifted then, his confusion melting into something softer, though there was an edge of anger in his jaw—anger directed not at you but at the person who had made you feel this way.
“y/n,” he said quietly, his voice steady. “that guy? he didn’t deserve you. not for a second. and i don’t care how long it takes, i’ll spend every moment proving to you that you’re worth everything. do you hear me?”
tears spilled down your cheeks again, but this time they weren’t born of pain. his words wrapped around you like a balm, soothing wounds you hadn’t realized were still bleeding.
“i don’t want to scare you off,” you whispered, your voice trembling.
“scare me off?” rafe repeated, his tone incredulous. he cupped your face in his hands, his thumbs brushing away your tears. “y/n, you couldn’t scare me off if you tried. i just… i want you to feel safe with me. always.”
“i do,” you said quickly, your voice breaking with urgency. “i do feel safe. that’s why i’m crying, rafe. because i’ve never felt this before. no one’s ever… treated me like this before.”
his lips pressed to your forehead, lingering there as he exhaled deeply. “then we’ll go slow,” he murmured against your skin. “as slow as you need. or we can stop altogether. whatever you want, baby.”
“no,” you said firmly, your hands curling around his wrists to keep him close. “i don’t want to stop. i just… needed to tell you. needed you to know why i’m like this.”
his eyes searched yours for a long moment before he nodded, his lips curving into the softest smile. “okay,” he said simply. “but promise me, if you ever need to stop, you’ll tell me. no matter what.”
“i promise,” you whispered, your voice steadier now.
he kissed you again, but this time it was different. there was still care in the way his lips moved against yours, but now there was something deeper, something hungrier. his hands gripped your waist, pulling you flush against him as his hips rolled forward, the friction sending a gasp spilling from your lips.
“you feel so fucking good,” he groaned, his breath warm against your neck as he pressed wet kisses to your skin. his body moved against yours in slow, deliberate thrusts, his hands roaming your body like he couldn’t get enough.
and this time, you let yourself feel it. you let yourself drown in the way he touched you, the way he held you like you were the most precious thing in the world. because for the first time in a long time, you believed that maybe—just maybe—you were.

you watch him sleep peacefully while your mind is filled with negative thoughts; did he love you? why was he pushing you away? had you done something? it hadn’t been the best season only the first half was great then the car started having problems and then battling for the championship with lando it wasn’t easy. so you understand the stress he had and tried your best to be there for him but he’d push you away everytime.
he had a rough race? you’d be there ready to give him your supportive words and touch he used to love but it’s now turned into quick side hugs and kisses on the cheek. from flying to most of the races with him turned into staying at home taking care of jimmy and sassy and watching the race on the tv screen.
you put your slippers on and walked off onto your balcony as the sun was rising. you didn’t realize how much time passed as max walks out in his workout clothes saying he would be going to the gym with his trainer, “okay,” you mutter, your eyes still set on the view avoiding his eyes as best as you can. going to the gym when you have a home gym right here? but the words never come out and he leaves.
“she didn’t even look at me just said okay and that’s all. she’s always up early make breakfast and my smoothie always ready but i woke up to an empty bed. thought she wanted to spend the break together as much as we can.” max tells his trainer as they finished up their workout. max left the apartment confused from the cold shoulder you’d given him, “i mean, you haven’t let her join you the last few races you’ve had. it could be that? or the fact she’s always checking up on your through the team because you never tell her anything other than fine everytime she asks how you are doing and the car.” his trainer knocks him out of this trance he’s had for months now as he realizes what he had been doing.
that’s why he stands in the kitchen with your favorite flowers on the counter and take out food ready to talk and apologize but you don’t come after he calls for your name. he walks to your bedroom and you are nowhere to be seen until he reaches the balcony and he realizes you’ve been sitting in your same spot you were on when he had left. “schatje? why are you still out here? it’s freezing—.”
“don’t you care about me at all?” you finally look at him, your eyes red and swollen after crying for hours and in that moment his heart breaks because he was breaking yours. “seriously max, what am i to you? it feels like we’re just roommates who sleep in the same bed and that’s all. i tried. i tried to be the supportive girlfriend but you…you push me away. you talk to everyone but me. i care about you, so why don’t you care about me?”
max sits besides you and wipes your tears away before he kisses your head but you just push him away, “i deserve that. i deserve whatever anger you feel towards me right now. i do care about you. i may not have shown it recently and i am sorry for that, baby. i’ve been so frustrated with the car and with myself that i couldn’t bare for you to see me like this. you’ve been there since my first championship and now that it could be in jeopardy…i don’t you to see me fail,” he whispers, his feelings valid but it leaves you confused why he couldn’t tell you all this.
“so why push me away like that, max? i supported you at your best and at your worst. with or without a championship i’m gonna be by your side always. but you need to let me in all the way. you have you talk to me when you feel this way and i should have done the same—.”
“no. that wasn’t your fault. i was a very shitty boyfriend so i understand why you felt you couldn’t talk to me. i’m so so sorry, my love. i promise from now on i’ll communicate more,” he promises and you raise your eyebrows expecting more, “and let me go to races again? cant believe you used jimmy and sassy as a pawn for me not going to any.” your pout that makes him chuckle has the mood feeling lighter now.
“i was fucking miserable without you. never again.” he mumbles against your neck as you wrap your arms around him. “i’ve got your favorite food and flowers waiting in the kitchen for you, i love you”
“i love you. you’re the bestest…next time though if you ever say i can’t go to a race i’ll show up with the mercedes team.” you threaten with a smile on your face.
“okay now that is mean.”

Could you do how Jinx would react If you would give her a Love confession similiar to the one lexie gave mark in greys anatomy headcanons?
Tumblr media
of course! thank you for being my first request! i’d like to preface this by saying i’ve seen 0% of greys anatomy. i did watch a clip and do some reading but there may still be some inaccuracies, i apologize </3 i did also take a few creative liberties for the sake of drama
i started writing this before act 3 dropped (no spoilers, dw) and now i'm finishing it to cope. LMAO
summary: headcanons for jinx receiving a confession similar to the one mark received in greys anatomy.
characters included: jinx
tags/warnings: fluff, slight hurt/comfort, (happy) crying. lots of fluff
men dni.
✧.* you and jinx were both working under silco before he passed. the news of his passing hit you like a pile of bricks. you had grown relatively close to him- well, as close as one of his employees could grow to him. but you cared for him.
✧.* however, the position paid well, even after silco's passing. so you decided to stay.
✧.* you had also, for lack of a better term, completely fallen for your coworker, jinx.
✧.* unfortunately for you, you had come to this realization while you were in a relationship with somebody else.
✧.* it came as such a shock to you, because you were happy, your girlfriend adored you. you adored your girlfriend. but the more you fell for jinx, the less you could stand to be with your girlfriend and hurt her.
✧.* so, you broke up with her. you told her that she was incredible, that she was a lovely person and you were sorry you couldn’t do more for her. but you were in love with somebody else.
✧.* and that leaves you here. with your colleague who has captured your heart, who you've just finished a successful mission with and wants to celebrate with you. and the fact that she has no idea of your feelings eats at you.
✧.* jinx beaming at you, the rare smile on her face as she makes her way towards you, jumping in excitement.
✧.* the two of you had just made it back to jinx's hideout, surrounded by her colorful wall tags and assorted gadgets.
✧.* "oh, did you see the look on their faces?! that was incredible, (y/n)! it was so-"
✧.* you just couldn't hold back. tears were welling in your eyes, your hands were trembling, and you couldn't bring yourself to meet jinx's gaze.
✧.* jinx stepped forward, her concern written across her face. "you okay?"
✧.* "i love you." you blurted out, now lifting your head to look jinx directly in the eye. you were delirious, you were confused, you were relieved. relieved to finally tell her.
✧.* "oh my god, that was so sudden, it just came out- i love you. i love you, jinx." you continued, your voice shaking. now that you had started, you couldn't stop. just how long had these feelings festered, deep inside of you? how much longer could you hold onto them?
✧.* jinx's expression was unreadable. her mouth agape, her pink eyes were blown wide. her shoulders were strangely tense, but you could tell that her full attention was on you.
✧.* "i love you. i love you, and i've been trying not to say it.. but i can't. it's so hard. it's so hard to repress it, to ignore it, to act like everything is fine but the truth is that i love you more than anything."
✧.* tears started falling from your eyes, yet you went on as if nothing was happening. "my ex was a great girl, she's incredible, she's gorgeous, and she isn't a master criminal- and she loved me. but it was never gonna work out."
✧.* jinx stepped closer to you, slowly, achingly slowly.
✧.* "i- i love you. i'm so in love with you.." tears kept falling, falling, falling. but the words kept coming. "it's like i'm infected by jinx." you chuckled dryly, using your arm to wipe underneath your eyes.
✧.* "i can't think of anything, or anybody, i can't sleep.. i can't breathe. i love you, jinx. all the time. now and forever." you concluded, your breath coming in heavy pants after your tirade. you mustered up the best smile you could for the woman across from you, taking agonizingly slow steps toward you.
✧.* when jinx finally was in close enough proximity, her face mere inches from yours, both of her hands gently cupped your cheeks. the pads of her thumbs swiping underneath your wet eyes. the corners of her lips turned upward ever so slightly.
✧.* "you... love me?" she whispered, voice low.
✧.* and at this, you genuinely were in disbelief. you laughed, heartily, only for a minute. jinx's eyes went wide yet again, and you could tell she was beginning to panic. what if she had misheard you? was this a dream? was she-
✧.* "i think i've made that pretty clear, jinx. yes. i love you."
✧.* the worry washed away from her, and her arms wrapped around your waist. holding you ever so gently, as if you were made of porcelain. as if she was afraid she would break you if she held on too tight. you've never seen her be so delicate with somebody.
✧.* she pressed a chaste, lingering kiss to your cheek.
✧.* "that's good." jinx replied, turning her head to the side to rest it on your shoulder. "because i think i love you too."

You’d gone off to college and now first year was over and done with and you’d be heading home for summer break. Robin was the only person you kept in touch with and when she told you she was now friends with Steve Harrington, the king of Hawkins and the person (one of) who made your high school life a living hell.
“Bullshit.” You tell Robin over the phone as you pack your suitcase, “There is no way you’re friends with Steve Harrington now and saying he’s a better person.”
“I swear, y/n. He’s a completely different guy from high school. I mean he’s nice, caring. He’s loyal and funny-”
You laughed out loud, unable to believe that. Steve, Carol and Tommy made your life a living hell. Well, Carol did, but most of the time, Tommy and Steve joined into the bullying.
“When pigs fly, Robin. He was a complete asshole. He always had a stick up his ass.”
“Well he finally figured out how to pull it out of his ass.” Robin defends, “he and I worked at Scoops Ahoy last summer and let me tell you, I was weary, but he proved himself worthy of the job. We’ve actually gotten closer. He’s great and he knows about my secret. Super supportive.”
“what about me? I’m supportive!”
“I never said you weren’t!” She groans, “Just get your ass home and you’ll see how much he’s changed. He’s actually coming with me to pick you up from the train station.”
“Robin!”
“I don’t have a car at the moment!” She defends, “He’s the only ride I have.”
You groan, immediately regretting the decision to come home, “That’s it, I’m not coming home.”
“Bitch. yes you are. I’ll see you in a few hours.”
“fine,” You mumble, “but if he’s an asshole, I have every right to slap the shit out of him.”
“deal, but i promise he’s different.”
“Whatever, I’ll make that decision when I get home. See you later.”
“Bye.”
You hang up the phone with a groan and throw yourself back on the bed. What had you gotten yourself into?
~
“What the hell is she wearing?” Carol snickered to Tommy and Steve as you walked by them, heading down the hallway to your locker.
The two gathered in on the laughter, Carol deciding to follow after you. “You gave us another reason to laugh at you.” Carol taunts as you open your locker. “4 eyes.” She whispers, erupting in laughter with the other two.
“You’re such a nerd. And this is just the top of the cake!” You had the unfortunate luck of having an eye exam over the weekend where they prescribed you glasses. You knew this would happen. Tears welled.
“oh look at her now she’s going to cry!” More laughter. What you didn’t see, was the hesitation on Steve’s face every time they did bully you.
They always found something to bully you about, making your life hell. You’d met your breaking point when Carol tripped you into Steve, where his entire lunch tray covered you with spaghetti. Your blouse ruined with sauce.
Steve started to apologize, but it was lost in laughter that erupted in that cafeteria. You were mortified and ran out of the cafeteria sobbing.
Robin looped her arm into yours as you two headed to the parking lot where Steve was waiting, leaned against his car.
You groaned at the sight.
“You promised you would be nice!” Robin reminds.
“All I did was groan!”
“It was a disgusted groan.”
As you approach Steve is all smiles, “hey, I’m Steve.”
You nod in greeting, “I know who you are.”
“Robin says you use to live in Hawkins. Went to Hawkins high.” He opens the trunk for you, “but I can’t seem to place you!” He reaches to grab your bag from you, where you’re in complete shock. He seriously doesn’t recognize you? He and his pack of goons bullied you for years!
“Huh.” You move around him to put the suitcase in yourself. “Yeah I mean you had a stick so far up your-”
Robins hand covers your mouth, “be nice!”
You lick her hand and she quickly removed her hand with a look of disgust. “Gross!” She wipes her hand on her jeans.
Steve watches the interaction in confusion, “am I missing something here?”
You turn to him with a forced smile, “I didn’t hang out with…. Your crowd.” You force out, “was typically a quiet girl in high school.”
“Ah gotcha. Yeah I was more of a jock type.” He slams the trunk closed, “did you ever come to a basketball game? I was in the basketball team.”
"Sports wasn't my cup of tea."
~
It was relatively quiet on the ride home. Robin sat in the back seat, making you sit in the front with Steve. You had to admit he smelled good, but reminded yourself he's a jerk.
"We're going to a party tonight." Robin announces.
"What? No!" You abruptly turn in your seat to look at her, "Hell no."
"Yes." She nods, "It's the annual summer bonfire."
"yes I remember what it is. I'm not going. I don't want to see all the assholes from school."
Robin groans, "No, you have to go. You have to show yourself off, look at you!"
You miss the up down look Steve gives you from the driver's side and his slight adjustment in the seat. "You should come it will be fun. Have you ever been to one?"
No because you and your goons bullied me into never wanting to leave the house. "No, I haven't."
"Then ya gotta come! It's a great party."
And that's why now you're chugging your 3rd beer down, hoping to alleviate the nerves. You recognized everyone at this party.
"Need another?" Steve offers a solo cup and you're happy to take it.
You mutter a "thanks,"
"So what are majoring in at school?"
Before you can answer a guy, who is visibly drunk and reeks of beer, stumbles into you, his hand finding your ass as he grins at you, "you wanna come home with me pretty girl?"
"What the fuck!" Before you can push his hands off you, Steve is already slamming his hands into his shoulders, "Fuck off, Bryan! What the hell man, you think you can just put your hands girls?"
"Tha hell Harrington!" Bryan tries his best to straighten himself.
"apologize to the lady."
"Fuck no-"
Steve grabs him by his collar, yanking him toward you, "I said. Apologize." He says thru gritted teeth.
The guy blubbers an apology and Steve tosses him aside, where he staggers away.
"Sorry about that," Steve runs his fingers through his hair, "Are you okay?" He places a hand on your shoulder.
You nod, "I am-but-" You're in shock, Steve Harrington just defended you. What has this world come to? You're staring up at him, eyes wide. It would be hard not to admit you felt a little attraction to him. The way he'd pushed the guy and grabbed him by the collar. You could see the muscles through his shirt.
Steve smiles, "Anyways, back to our conversation. What are you majoring in?"
Maybe Steve Harrington had changed.

Can you please do one where the reader isn’t feeling well and a recruit offers to escort her to her room (Bucky and Sam are in a meeting) but then tries to take advantage of her? She feels dirty, ashamed, and breaks up with Bucky. Weeks pass before she works up the courage to return to the Compound, knowing the recruit will be there, because she misses seeing Bucky and Sam. They hang out, and as she is leaving, the recruit corners her. Bucky overhears him being mouthy. After the recruit is dealt with, Bucky assures her that he loves her and that she is not damaged goods, so to speak. Thanks! 🩷
You’re Not Damaged Goods
Bucky x Y/N
Warnings: Mentions of assault. Angst.
Y/N clutched her stomach as another wave of nausea rolled through her, leaving her lightheaded and unsteady. Training that morning had been brutal—pushing through her discomfort in the hopes of staying under the radar hadn’t helped. The last thing she wanted was to bother Bucky, who was tied up in a strategy meeting with Sam and the team.
As she stumbled out of the gym, leaning heavily against the wall for balance, a recruit named Jared jogged over. Tall, with sandy blonde hair and a cocky smirk, he was one of the newer faces around the compound.
"Hey, you okay?" Jared asked, concern lacing his tone.
Y/N tried to wave him off. "Just… not feeling great. I'll manage."
"You sure? You look pale. Come on, let me help you get to your room," he offered, his hand brushing her arm.
She hesitated. Normally, she’d decline, but the thought of collapsing in the hallway was worse. "Okay, thanks," she murmured.
Jared slipped an arm around her waist, steadying her as they walked. His grip felt a little too tight, but she chalked it up to his effort to support her. As they turned a corner, she noticed they weren’t heading toward her room.
"Wait," she said, pulling back slightly. "My room's the other way."
Jared grinned, the concern in his eyes replaced by something darker. "Relax. I just thought we could… talk somewhere private."
Alarm bells rang in her head. She tried to step away, but his grip tightened. "No, I think I'll head to my room now," she said firmly.
Jared's smile turned predatory. "Don't be like that. You’ve got to know how pretty you are, right? Bucky doesn’t have to know."
Her heart pounded as panic set in. "Let go of me," she demanded, her voice trembling.
Instead, he pressed her against the wall, the cold surface biting into her back as his weight pinned her in place. His breath was hot and rancid against her ear, sending a shiver of dread through her. Her pulse thundered in her ears, drowning out the muffled sounds of agents passing in nearby hallways. Every nerve in her body screamed at her to move, to fight, but her limbs felt leaden, her fear momentarily paralyzing her.
“Come on,” Jared whispered, his tone dark and filled with deep intent, “you don’t have to play hard to get.”
Her heart clenched as his hand slid lower, crossing a boundary that made her want to throw up.
A surge of adrenaline flooded her system, snapping her out of her frozen state. She shoved him hard with every ounce of strength she could muster, her hands shaking violently as she forced distance between them.
"I said no!" she shouted, her voice breaking with raw fear. It echoed down the hallway, a desperate plea for anyone—someone—to hear.
A passing agent rounded the corner, startling Jared enough that he lost concentration. Y/N didn’t waste a second, bolting down the hallway and locking herself in her room. She sank to the floor, tears streaming down her face. She felt dirty, humiliated, and most of all, ashamed.
That night, she couldn’t bring herself to tell Bucky. He’d been so happy after the meeting, his smile so genuine. How could she burden him with this? Instead, she let the memory fester, her thoughts spiraling. By the next morning, she’d made a decision.
She had to leave.
🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀
Weeks passed, and Y/N’s absence was a gaping hole in Bucky’s life.
He tried to reach her—calls, texts, even showing up at her old apartment—but she never responded. Sam tried to reassure him. "She probably just needs space," he’d said.
But Bucky knew it was more than that.
He just didn’t know why.
🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀
Y/N hadn’t planned to return to the compound. Every step she took inside brought back memories of Jared’s leer and the way his hands had pinned her in place. But she missed Bucky and Sam. She missed their banter, the way Bucky’s presence made her feel safe.
She made herself small as she walked through the halls, avoiding eye contact. She found Sam first, laughing in the kitchen. Bucky was next, sparring in the gym. Both greeted her warmly, but she kept her distance, her guilt gnawing at her.
“I should go,” she said after a few hours, clutching her bag tightly.
“You sure?” Sam asked. “We just got you back.”
“I’ll visit again soon,” she promised.
As she stepped into the hallway, she froze. Jared stood at the far end, his eyes locking on her immediately. His smirk was back, sharper and more menacing than ever. She tried to turn away, but he was already moving toward her.
"Y/N," he drawled, his voice dripping with mock sweetness. "Long time no see."
She didn’t respond, quickening her pace, but he grabbed her arm, spinning her to face him.
“Running away again?” Jared sneered. “You don’t need to pretend you didn’t like it when I—”
“Get your hands off her.”
Bucky’s voice was low and steady, sending a chill down Jared’s spine. He was standing just a few feet away, his jaw tight and eyes blazing with fury.
Jared laughed nervously. “Hey, man. Just talking to her.”
“Agent Lee,” Bucky took a step closer, his voice ice-cold. “You have 10 seconds to get out of eyeshot.”
Jared released her arm, raising his hands defensively. “I didn’t mean—”
“Save it,” Bucky snapped.
“I gave you 10 seconds, you now have 5. Here’s how this is going to work,” Bucky continued, his voice dropping even lower, almost a growl. “You’re going to stay far away from her—from any woman in this compound, actually. You don’t speak to her. You don’t look at her. Hell, you don’t even think about her.”
Bucky leaned in, his voice barely above a whisper now, but no less terrifying. "Because if I catch you stepping out of line again, they’re not going to need a meeting to figure out why you’ve gone missing. You’ll just disappear. And trust me, I’m very good at making things disappear."
The ghost of a smirk played on his lips as he straightened, his gaze never wavering. "So, what’s it gonna be? Are you walking out of here, or am I carrying you out in pieces?"
Jared swallowed hard, his face pale, his bravado crumbling. Bucky’s stance didn’t waver, his protectiveness a palpable force that seemed to radiate through the air.
"You made the wrong choice coming after her," Bucky added, a final warning in his icy tone. "And if you’re dumb enough to try again? You’ll find out just how bad of a mistake that was."
Jared muttered something under his breath before retreating, but not before Bucky stepped forward, towering over him. “If you so much as look at her again, I will invert your ribcage, you sad fuck.”
As soon as Jared disappeared, Bucky turned to Y/N. She was trembling, her arms wrapped tightly around herself.
“Doll,” he said softly, stepping closer. “Are you okay?”
She nodded weakly, but tears welled in her eyes. “I’m sorry,” she whispered.
“For what?” he asked, his brow furrowing.
“For leaving. For not telling you. For—”
He silenced her with a gentle hand on her cheek. “You have nothing to apologize for. This wasn’t your fault.”
“I feel… ruined,” she admitted, her voice breaking. “Like I’m not the same person I was before.”
“Listen to me,” Bucky said firmly, his thumb brushing away her tears. “You are not broken. You are not dirty. What he did—what he tried to do—doesn’t define you. And it sure as hell doesn’t change how I feel about you.”
Her lip quivered as she met his gaze. “You mean that?”
“Every word,” he said, pulling her into his arms. She melted against him, the weight of weeks of guilt and shame finally lifting.
“You’re my everything, Y/N.”
For the first time in weeks, she let herself believe it.

Hope this is what you were wanting, Hun. It’s a bit heavier than my usual stuff so, I really tried to capture your request as best I could. 🫶

check out my masterlist! // shua's m.list
second chance prompt #22: "you were my first love—you still are."
it was supposed to be a fun night. a few drinks, some dinner, the three of you just laughing and letting loose. chan, mingyu, and you had been out for a while now, but as the night wore on, the fun started to fade.
you hadn’t realized how much you were drinking at first, but as the alcohol hit you, it blurred your thoughts and made your heart ache.
your mind wouldn’t stop going back to joshua—joshua, joshua, joshua. the love you had for him. the love you still had for him.
the way he smiled at you. the way he’d look at you like you were the only one in the room.
you missed him.
“hey, you okay?” mingyu asked, his voice cutting through the fog in your head.
you blinked at him, not quite able to focus. your eyes were heavy, your chest tight. “i miss him,” you whispered, more to yourself than to anyone.
chan and mingyu exchanged a worried glance, both of them knowing exactly who you were talking about. they had been trying to keep you distracted all night, but it was clear you were spiraling.
“come on,” chan said softly, trying to get your attention. “let’s get you home, okay?”
but you just shook your head, tears welling up in your eyes. “no… i can’t go home. not without him.”
mingyu, despite his large frame, was surprisingly gentle. he leaned down to help you up, but you flinched away from him, your body swaying.
“come on,” mingyu coaxed, his deep voice comforting. “we need to get you home.”
but you weren’t having it. you shook your head stubbornly. “no, i need him,” you slurred, clutching at your chest as if it would ease the ache there. “only joshua.”
chan sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “this isn’t going anywhere. i’m calling him.”
the moment chan dialed joshua’s number, you stiffened, your gaze sharpening, even though you were beyond tipsy.
“joshua…” you muttered under your breath, your heart pounding.
it didn’t take long for joshua to pick up.
“hello?” his voice came through, the usual warmth in his tone immediately replaced by concern when he heard the situation.
“hyung, can you come?” mingyu said, his voice surprisingly tense for someone usually so laid-back. “(y/n)’s a mess. she won’t let us take her home.”
there was a long pause on the other end of the line. “what happened?”
“she’s drunk off her ass and crying over you,” chan explained. “we can’t get her to leave until she sees you. we’re at that bar near the corner. please, hurry.”
joshua didn’t waste another second. “i’m on my way.”
when joshua arrived, he found you, a sobbing mess, crumpled against the bar counter. mingyu and chan had both tried to console you, but you were inconsolable.
the moment you saw joshua walk through the door, your eyes widened. for a second, it felt like a dream.
your face, already flushed from crying, broke into a small, relieved smile. “shua…” you whispered, your voice raw and barely audible over the sounds of the bar.
you wobbled to your feet, and despite your blurry vision, you flung yourself into his arms.
joshua caught you instantly, his arms wrapping around you tightly, feeling the weight of your sadness. his heart broke as he felt how fragile you were in his embrace, how lost you looked.
“you’re finally here,” you mumbled, barely coherent, your voice trembling as you clung to him. “i waited for you…”
joshua’s heart ached at your words. you didn’t mean for him to hear, but he did. and it tore him apart.
“hey, hey, i’m here now,” joshua whispered, gently brushing a strand of hair from your face, his hands soft against your skin. “it’s okay. i’m here, sweetheart.”
but before he could say anything else, your body went limp, your eyes fluttering shut as you passed out in his arms.
“sweetheart?” joshua called softly, but you were already passed out.
“oh boy,” mingyu muttered under his breath.
joshua face set with determination, “get the car ready. i’ll carry her.”
as he carefully scooped you up in his arms, joshua couldn’t help but scold chan and mingyu. “i can’t believe you two let her drink this much. she’s been sobbing all night, and you didn’t stop her?”
mingyu looked guilty, rubbing the back of his neck. “we tried, but—”
“don’t,” joshua cut him off, shaking his head. “just get the car.”
when joshua reached your apartment, he carried you inside, his heart still heavy with everything you had said. he laid you gently on your bed, tucking you under the covers.
but you stirred, a soft, drowsy whimper escaping you as you reached for him. you clung to his sweatshirt, your fingers weak but desperate.
“shua,” you whispered, your voice trembling.
"you can let go sweetheart, you're home now." he says as he patted your head softly.
“if i let go… you’ll leave me, right? forever?”
joshua felt a tightness in his chest as he watched you, your tear-streaked face filled with so much pain, so much fear of losing him.
he sat down next to you, gently brushing your hair away from your face. “i’m not going anywhere. i’m not leaving you,” he whispered, his voice filled with so much tenderness.
“promise?” you asked, your eyes barely open, looking up at him with hope.
joshua’s heart broke at how vulnerable you were, how badly you needed reassurance. how badly you needed his reassurance.
he didn’t say “yes.” instead, he spoke the words he had been holding back for so long.
“you were my first love,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper. “you still are. i would do anything for you.”
your breath hitched at his words, and for the first time that night, you finally felt a weight lift from your chest.
joshua stayed by your side, his hand gently stroking your hair as you drifted into a peaceful sleep. and now you're finally home, you're safe. he is here, and he isn't going anywhere.

THATS SO TRUE!
synopsis: you and chris broke up not that long ago, but still stayed friends. what if one day he brings his new girl to you and the triplets movie night?
pairing: ex! chris sturniolo & f! reader
warning: use of y/n, jealousy, anxiety attack!!, emotionally/micro-cheating
Tumblr media
you sat on the triplets couch with matt right next to you. while scrolling on your phone you hear chris, “hey guys, is it okay if i invite amelia over?” he says walking down the stairs.
amelia is chris’ new girl, and she’s absolutely gorgeous. blue eyes, blonde hair and just everything you would want to be. you and chris broke up almost a month ago because he felt that he didn’t love you enough, but you continued to be okay with each other due to you still being friends with nick and matt.
“oh yeah that’s fine with me,” nick says as matt just nods. you turn your head to look at chris, just for him to be staring at you already. “i don’t care” you say to him.
but in all honesty, you did care. knowing how quickly he moved on from you hurt like hell. you physically could not believe that he found a new girl so quickly after being together for 8 months.
chris’ tongue glides over his teeth as he looks at you and walks away. matt taps on your knee, you look over at him and he mouths, “you okay?” you smile at him and say, “of course.”
a few minutes pass by, all 4 of you guys were just sitting on the couch until you hear the door knock a few times. chris sat up enthusiastically and basically ran to the door. when the door opens you hear, “hi baby!” assumingely enough it was amelia.
she and chris walk up towards the couch and stand in the middle of the living room. “amelia this is nick, matt and y/n. guys this is amelia.” he says with a soft smile on his face.
you sat at the end of the couch and of course, chris and amelia sat on the other end which had a clear view of them both. perfect, you thought to yourself.
chris looks straight at you keeping eye contact. his hands go up to her hair that was perfectly tied in a bun, his fingers wrap around the black hair tie while he whispers something in her ear. chris pulls the hair tie off and lets her hair free.
you bite your tongue and watch in silence. you knew he was doing this to hurt you, to get a reaction out of you. chris used to let your hair down the same way, and now he’s doing it with her. you knew exactly how chris thought. you knew what he was thinking while doing that.
your eyes shift over to amelia, her big blue eyes, pouty glossed lips, healthy blonde hair. does she know you and chris are exes? does she know you and chris broke up a month ago? how could anybody hate her? she’s so beautiful and cool. but for some reason something in you makes you hate her.
as you stare at amelia in awe, chris stares at you. he sees the way your eyes are glossing, the way your lip starts trembling and the way you play with the rings on your fingers from anxiety. suddenly, you stand up quickly turning around and letting out the softest, “i’ll be back.”
reaching the bathroom with tears slowly falling down your blushed cheeks. you close the door shut, both hands find the edge of the cold counter. you lean down looking at the white colored sink. breathing starts to pick up, your chest begins to move up and down at a rapid pace.
you try to wipe the tears rolling down but they would not stop coming out. tears after tears, the door is knocked on. you turn around trying to calm down your breathing, but nothing is helping. your hand reaches the doorknob and twists it open.
on the other side of the door stood chris. he looks at you with worry and pushes the door open fully, letting himself in. immediately, your pulled into his chest. chris runs his hands through your hair, “shh it’s okay.” he says to you trying to calm you down. you breathe in deeply smelling his familiar cologne and start to match your breathing to his.
a few moments pass by and you guys are still in the same position. as you find your breathing and started to calm down, you push yourself away from chris, “please don’t do this now” you beg him.
“what? what do you mean?” he asks confused. “stop trying to act like we’re okay, especially after doing that in front of me,” you say feeling tears build up once again. “do what?”
you scoff in his face wiping your tears which most likely caused mascara to smear down, “bringing your new girl over then staring at me the entire time! you can’t just do that chris?!” you start to raise your voice feeling irritated.
chris stutters, “well..sorry.” he says very unsure with his own words. “just leave me alone christopher.” you say turning around and facing the mirror, but chris didn’t move, he just stayed there behind you. watching as you broke in pieces

Preliminary summary: You're shooting for "Idol 1N2D." There are nine of you, split into three teams. The team that comes in last has to take a bungee jump. Naturally, your team ends up losing the challenge. Now, you find yourself on the platform, shaking with fear because you're terrified of heights.
"Ahhh…I don't wanna jump." You feel like tearing up as you glance down. It's way up there, and fear is creeping in. Everyone on the ground is watching you; some look concerned, but most are just cracking up. Especially Wooyoung.
"Hey, Y/N!Just jump! It's not scary!" Wooyoung shouts.
You can let out a bittersweet smirk and pace back and forth. It's too horrible!!
At this moment, Wooyoung pulls out your phone from his pocket that you give him before you get up to the platform because he wants to call your parents and let them know you're about to go bungee jumping.
"Hey, y/n. I'm going to call your parents."
"Why??"
"To show their daughter is timid."
"Hey!You!!" Actually, you're the brave one among ATEEZ, just like Jongho. The only thing that gets to you is heights. Being up on a tall platform really gets your heart racing.
"Just Kidding." Wooyoung smirks. "What's your password? I can't unlock it."
Hell no!How can you tell all members your lock screen password is Wooyoung's birthday? It's so embarrassing!
"No way!Don't call my parents!"
But your shout falls into deaf ears. All of them try to unlock your phone by typing different passwords.
"Is it her birthday?" Yunho asks and Wooyoung types your birthday numbers but it is wrong.
"Nah. It's not correct."
"Maybe our debut day?" Wooyoung types "1024" but the 'error' message pops up again.
"Y/N!Tell us your password."
"No way!"
Not wanting to share your password, they're left with no option but to keep guessing until the password prompt shows up.
[His name short form+birthday]
"His name and birthday?!" Seonghwa's eyes go wide, and his member mirrors the shock.
"What the?! Y/n has a crush?!" San exclaims.
"Who is he??" Jongho rakes his fingers through his hair, clearly taken aback.
Meanwhile, Wooyoung stays silent. He stares at the screen, deep in thought, before he begins to type.
[w…y…1…1…2…6…]
And your phone unlocks.
Everyone except Wooyoung gasps in surprise, but then they can't help but smile as they see him blushing. Wooyoung quickly acts like nothing happened and chimes in, "Hey, y/n. Let's call your parents now."
"What??" You can see your phone is unlocked as Wooyoung shows you, and all of your members smile with a nod. Oh fuck. Now they all know you like Wooyoung.

ever since you and your mother moved on with ward and his son, you haven't been able to stand coming across rafe, who sends you a death glare each time you bump into each other in the hallway. you don't understand why he despises you this much.
you have been working on your essay for the past few hours, lying on your bedroom floor, typing on your computer and sighing every now and then. the sun has already settled down for a while.
you finally decide to allow yourself a small break to eat something. you walk downstairs and spot rafe in the kitchen already, making himself a sandwich. he looks you up and down, almost annoyed at your presence. “what d'you want?” he spits, raising his eyebrows. you notice the pissed-off look on his face.
you pass behind him, ignoring his remark and trying your best not to let his words affect you. as you open the fridge, he goes to stand behind you. just as you are about to reach for the last red bull can left, he picks it up before you. “s'mine, don't you have an essay to finish?” a sly smirk creeps onto his face as he notices your eyes welling up with tears.
you simply nod your head, struggling to hold back your tears. “yes, but i was just hungry.” your voice cracks at the way his eyes burn a hole through you; the intimidating look causes you to look down at your feet. he chuckles at your intimidated state. “hungry, huh? well, go back to your room and finish that essay first, and maybe i would allow you to eat something.” he rolls his eyes and sprawls on the couch.
ward and your mom went out on a date night, meaning rafe has to watch over you until tomorrow morning, even though they are not aware of rafe's behavior towards you. you try to cover the growling of hunger in your stomach. “rafe, please can i have at least something to eat?” you plead, standing beside the couch.
he looks up at you and lets out a laugh. “not until you're done with that essay. now leave me alone, would you?” he moves his finger in a circular motion, indicating for you to go away from him. you sigh and utterly go back upstairs, getting back to finishing your essay that you've been working on for almost three hours already, and you are far from being done.
shortly after, you feel your eyelids starting to get heavier the more you stare at the computer screen. you give yourself a tiny break and begin to close your eyes, allowing yourself some rest. you fold your arms and rest your chin on one of them, pushing the computer further away from you.
the five-minute rest quickly turns into a longer one. you're now deep asleep, your essay still not done. on the other side, rafe starts to get concerned about you not coming downstairs to show him your homework. he sighs as he stands up from the couch and then walks upstairs, noticing he doesn't hear any noise coming from your bedroom. he slowly opens the door.
he suddenly feels his heart clench at the sight of you sleeping peacefully on the floor in front of your computer. he shakes his head and goes to sit down beside your sleeping figure. he leans his back against your bed and picks up the computer from the floor to place it on his lap, reading your essay.
he begins to type, finishing the essay while glancing every now and then at you, checking if you're still sleeping. he almost feels bad for being mean to you; he never realized until now that you never tried to fight back, just accepting being yelled at. he brings his hand to your hair, gently running his fingers through it. he never really realized how soft your hair is.
a few minutes later, he is finally done with your essay. he lets out a sigh of relief and turns off your computer, then places it on your desk before crouching down to wake you up. “hey—uh, you need t'wake up.” he gently taps your cheek a few times, causing you to jolt awake, wondering where you are until it finally tilts in your mind.
you slowly sit up, scanning your bedroom. you tilt your head in confusion when you look at rafe, not knowing why he woke you up, but you feel grateful to him for waking you up so you could finish your essay. “thank you, rafe,” you mumble, ready to get back into writing once again. however, you frown your eyebrows when you notice your computer is gone.
“uh—” as you were about to speak, he cuts you off. he places his hand on his hip. “don't bother with it; i did your essay. the reason i woke you up is so you could eat something before going to sleep.” he softens his voice, trying not to scare you. he bends down and gently takes your hand in his. “i'm sorry for being mean to you; it’s—it's hard for me, you know?” he tucks a loose strand of hair behind your ear.
you purse your lips and stand up, following him to the kitchen. “it's okay, rafe; i forgive you,” you warmly smile at him and pull out a chair to sit down at the table, watching him make a sandwich for you. “nah, it's not; i'm an asshole, but i'll try my best for you. you're my sister now, and—and i need to be there for you, someone you can trust.” he slices the bread in length, avoiding looking at you, feeling ashamed of himself.
you stay silent and simply stand up to hug your stepbrother. he is taken aback by your action, not expecting that sudden hug. he clears his throat before hugging you back, wrapping his arms around your waist and gently leaving a kiss on your head. “thank you, sis, love you,” he whispers the last word, as if he didn't want you to hear it. you look up at him, pressing your chin against his bicep. “love you too, rafey,” you smile at him and go back to sit in the chair, patiently waiting for him to hand you your sandwich.

Part 1 Part 3

The scene in Shibuya was haunting.
A team of sorcerers, led by the Jujutsu High principal and Gojo Satoru, had arrived to investigate the aftermath of the attack. They had hoped to find something useful—some trace of the curse responsible for the violent death. What they hadn’t expected was the gruesome sight that lay before them.
The alley where (Y/N)’s body had been found was eerily quiet, the air thick with the remnants of cursed energy. The wind carried the faint smell of decay and blood as the team gathered around the site.
Gojo stood at the forefront, his usually confident demeanor now strained, his hands shoved deep into his pockets. His eyes were cold, his expression unreadable—but there was an underlying tension, a weight that pulled at his chest. The sight of the lifeless body of his childhood friend, mangled and torn apart, twisted something inside him. This wasn’t just a victim of a curse—this was someone he had known, someone he had failed.
The principal, old but stern, stepped forward with his hands behind his back. He scanned the scene with a practiced eye. "This curse... It’s unlike any we’ve seen before," he muttered, more to himself than anyone else. "The body’s been completely torn apart. But there's something strange about it... It’s as though this curse was born from rage, from a soul that refused to rest."
The others began to fan out, searching for clues, but their eyes kept returning to the dismembered body in the center of the scene. What once had been (Y/N)—someone who had walked the halls of Jujutsu High, who had struggled and fought for acceptance—was now reduced to little more than a gruesome puzzle.
Gojo stepped closer, his gaze locked on the remnants of your body. His lips parted, but no words came out. He wanted to say something, anything, but the sight before him paralyzed him.
You had been torn apart. Your limbs were scattered in unnatural directions, your body mangled in ways that should have been impossible for a human to endure. But what struck Gojo the most wasn’t the violence of your death—it was the unmistakable presence of your cursed energy. The aura lingered around the remains, suffocating the space. It was dark, suffused with an overwhelming rage, but strangely… it was familiar.
It was you.
The realization hit him like a punch to the gut. This wasn’t just the body of someone who had died. This was a person whose soul—torn apart by anguish, rejection, and betrayal—had morphed into something far darker. Far stronger.
“She’s gone…” Gojo’s voice was barely a whisper. His usual cocky tone, the one he used to mask his emotions, had vanished. There was no bravado, no casual dismissal of the situation. Only raw pain. “(Y/N)... I didn’t... I didn’t save you.”
The principal nodded gravely, his eyes narrow. “A powerful curse… Her soul has been twisted by all the suffering she endured. This isn't just a random attack—it’s a vengeance born of hate. We have to find out who did this… or what did this.”
"Does it matter?" Gojo’s voice was bitter, filled with frustration and guilt. "This isn’t just a curse. This is her."
His fingers clenched at his sides, but he couldn’t tear his eyes away from the horror before him. The curse that had killed you wasn’t some faceless monster—it was you. And that fact haunted him more than anything else.
A small group of other sorcerers had begun to inspect the remnants of your body, gathering what little they could from the destruction. One of them, a younger sorcerer with a clipboard, shuddered and looked over at the group. “The body… it’s been completely obliterated. But the energy—it’s still there, just beneath the surface. There’s something wrong about it.”
Gojo’s gaze hardened as he stepped forward, his hands trembling slightly as he reached out to touch the ground where your body had been torn apart. The cursed energy that lingered in the air was undeniable. The power was potent, raw—familiar, as though it had been forged from years of torment and frustration.
And yet, even in death, your spirit wasn’t at peace. It had turned into something darker, something uncontrollable.
The principal looked at Gojo, his eyes sharp. “You know what this means, don’t you, Satoru? We need to be prepared. This isn’t just a regular curse. If she truly has become this powerful—”
Gojo interrupted him, his voice laced with cold anger. “I know.”
He turned away from the corpse, his fists clenched at his sides. “I failed her. I should have known. I should have—” He couldn’t bring himself to finish the sentence. How could he apologize for letting you slip through his fingers? How could he make up for the years of neglect and the cold indifference he had shown when you needed him most?
In the distance, the wind howled as the cursed energy around them continued to grow stronger. It felt like a storm was brewing. And in that storm, there was a single name on Gojo’s mind: (Y/N).
His failure. His mistake. And the curse he would now have to face.
The others looked at him, unsure of what to say. But Gojo wasn’t looking for comfort. He wasn’t even looking for a solution. All he could see was the haunting image of your broken body—torn apart by a curse that he should have stopped.
He had failed you.
And now, he would have to face the consequences of that failure.
