The Vengeful, Roseia Primer, was sold into slavery as a kid and thrown into The Pit, where slaves are forced to fight to the death by their masters. The Pit was liberated and recruited to fight against the empire during The Summoner's rebellion, and she was known for tearing highbloods limb from limb. She was killed in battle after taking out The Vocalist.

The Betrayer, Versli Dorzuh, was raised as a highblood's pet and prized possession for her "exotic" mutations. Her master was murdered in a coup, freeing her. However, having never had to be independent before, she was taken in by a rebel cell and taught how to take care of herself. However, the second she was offered her old life back, she leapt at the chance and made her way infiltrating and selling out rebel cells to the empire. She was killed when she outlived her usefulness.

The Destroy'r, Percus Octahv, was a troll with incredibly powerful psionics that created destructive sonic blasts when she vocalized. Fearful of her powers, she had her vocal cords removed so they could never be used again. However, when she got forcefully conscripted by the fleet, they restored her voice with artificial vocal cords. Amazed by the destructive potential of her psionics, she was converted into a living war machine that's still in use to this day.

The Nameless Hivemaid known only as Shiaka was a slave who accidentally killed her master and went on the run, where she was captured by The Volatile Playrite. He was enamored with her to a violent degree and forced her into an abusive relationship with him. He eventually had her assassinated, and her poltergeist haunted him until he went mad.

The Venomous Assassin, Najash Relion, was an assassin who specialized in killing her victims using poisons, toxins, and venoms. She was hired by The Volatile Playrite to murder his Hivemaid. However, instead of paying her, he framed her for the murder of an heiress. In order to flee execution, she became The Shameful Wanderer and fled society. She came upon a reclusive empath and oracle with whom she spent the rest of her sweeps as matesprits.

The Imposter Neophyte, Cautia Rohsco, was a cobalt whose moirail was kidnapped and sold into slavery. In order to track him down and bring his kidnapper to justice, she posed as a teal to become a legislacerator. When she was discovered, she fought tooth and nail to be allowed to keep her position, which she was eventually granted. She died of assassination in her last sweeps having never found or avenged her moirail.

The Serenade/Silenced Vocalist, Audora Schiek, was the ringleader of the Choir of Angels Carnival who fought on the side of the empire during The Summoner's rebellion. Her voodoos were channeled through her talking and singing and allowed her to manipulate the minds and emotions of her victims. She was stabbed in her vocal cords during an encounter with The Vengeful in battle. She survived but was rendered mute. She left her carnival in shame and currently lives a quiet isolated life off world.

Their Unshaken Devotion, Praerr Mahsda, was the right-hand woman to The Vocalist and her matesprit in all but name. She abandoned her personhood and lived as nothing more than a weapon of execution and torture. Her chucklevoodoo filled anyone who met her gaze with overwhelming terror, usually to the point of having a heart attack. She killed The Vengeful after she successfully attacked The Vocalist, who left her in charge of her carnival after her departure. Their Devotion led the carnival until her death, when she allowed it to disband after refusing to name a successor.

The Shadowed Seawitch, Ursula Luftir, was a powerful mage specializing in umbramancy. She was a purple-violet cusp, essentially a land dwelling purple (though legally she was violet). She his her status as a cusp and joined a carnival, but eventually her secret was discovered and she was slated to be executed. A literal deal with a demon saw her carnival slaughtered with her as the only survivor. She eventually began to worship the god of knowledge and pain, but after centuries of failings and micro aggressions, the god killed her and exterminated her bloodline.

The Deserter, Gamora Descur, was an extremely highly decorated general and achieved the highest rank just short of working directly under the empress herself. She was stationed on Alternia temporarily but crashed high in the mountains with her communications destroyed. Soon after, a terrible transformation due to an Eldritch curse on her bloodline took place, and she nearly wiped out an entire settlement in the mountains. A planet-wide search took place over ten sweeps, and when she was never found she was assumed to have deserted and had her legacy destroyed. She died of natural causes after raising her descendant Hannah.

The Defeated Princess, Tyrana Serbie, was one of countless heiresses who faced the empress for the throne and was killed in battle.
