The void moves eerily out of the shadows to creep up silently behind him and wraps his arms around his waist before he plants a kiss on the side of his left cheek. "Happy New Year." His head lifts up to watch a rocket shoot up into the starless night sky and explodes into a loud bang of red and green sparks.

if there's one thing to be known about Calcifer, it's that he really dislikes celebrations. which is ironic considering he lives in new orleans, but that's besides the point. he knew there was going to be a celebration no matter where he goes, because it's new years and people like celebrating the turn of the year for whatever reason. as if it's going to change anything- as if anyone actually stays true to their resolutions. nonetheless, he stands on his balcony, looking up towards the sky to watch the fireworks. as much as he hates celebration, he does like the shows that get put on every year. while he may not participate himself, even he finds it somewhat enjoyable, even if it is a little loud.

as the fireworks explode into the sky, he feels the arms wrap around his waist and his lips twitch upwards into a smile as he turns his head to look at Lupin, unsurprised to find him standing there. "i suppose i should wish you a happy new year as well, then," he hums, considering, before taking Lupin's hand into his own and lifting it towards his mouth where he'll press a gentle, chaste kiss there. "happy new year, Lupin."

He knocks tentatively on Sean's door with a black hare rabbit plushie tucked under his arm and a box of their favourite orange pekoe tea bags held precariously in his other hand. He could have levitated them into the air to stop his hands from being so full but he didn't want him to think he was showing off. He had been trying to make amends with the other residence of wonderland over the last twelve months so he hadn't been able to see him as much as he would like but he hoped Sean would be pleased to see him on this special day.

The Hare had certainly be surprised to see Lupin at his front door, especially during a holiday that Wonderland typically didn't celebrate.

Well, typically, but the O'Hare's were hardly typical were they? Even amongst the madness that had existed in the magical realm, Sean and his sister were typically untypical.

Sean's whiskey brown eyes had spotted the black rabbit plushie and the box of pekoe tea bags, a genuine smile tugging at the corners of his heart shaped lips. "Luv, I didn't get you anything...." Still holding the soft smile he had reached a slender digit to hook into Lupin's belt loop and pull him forward past the threshold of the door and the house ---

With a smooth movement, the door had been closed with the Hare's left hand, his lips pressing against Lupin's as his body pressed into his, pushing Lupin's body against the now closed door. The kiss had lingered, a moment held in silence before the Hare had broken it and stepped away gingerly from the fox.....

"..... I guess that will have to do."

He has left a painting of a black fox with mismatched colored eyes and a white outline around it on Jim's doorstep. The fox also appeared to be floating in an empty void. He would see that there was a tag on the back that said simply, "Happy Yuletide from Lupin."

With a satisfied grin, Jim looked down at the object on the doorstep, it didn't take much intellect to figure out who it was from for there were no others like him. Picking it up gently he took it inside, placing it on the mantlepiece, looking at the object and admiring how much effort and care had been put into its craft before returning to his brandy. He had of course read the tag on his gift, taking out his phone he sent a message:

He'd never been so DISMISSIVE. She eyes him from across the table, her hands resting in front of her, fingers laced and air around her TENSE.

What an innocent and quiet moment as they stood there, Elijah hugging Lupin from behind, unable to break away from his form as they stood in the middle of nowhere, on a hill, looking up. Stars twinkled above them, clear and distinct. His lips found the other's neck and kissed their way up to his cheek, leaving a brief trail. He breathed in his scent and was completely happy and content in that moment.

Ren's a bit prickly when it comes to her personal space. like, just generally speaking, she doesn't like it when people touch her. she likes her bubble, all right, what's wrong with that?

it's why she tenses when @the-v0iid reaches towards her. but she's quick, and her eyes focus on the pretty little bud in his hands before she fully pulls away. she blinks at it for a moment, hesitant, but it's just a flower ; what's the harm? so instead she tilts her head and leans forward to let him place it in the waves of her hair.

it's such a soft gesture, something she isn't quite used to. something she doesn't really know how to process. she shrinks in on herself a little bit, eyes flitting away under the weight of the moment. she reaches up to brush some of her hair back, a reflexive gesture, a sort of soothing motion to ground herself.

❝ i've always thought i look pretty with colour in my hair, ❞ she says, a quiet murmur as if she's scared to speak too loudly. and then she looks up, soft smile gracing her features. ❝ do you have another one? we could be matching. ❞

Taking a few steps towards him he lowered his voice. “Tell no one else dear, or there will be dire consequences, I assure you.” Leaning in he whispered into his ear, “Close your eyes for a moment.” He allowed the always-burning fire to spread to his eyes, lighting them up with a shade of red and orange. “Open them” he ordered, a series of long black tails with red patches surrounding them both, a pair of fox ears appearing briefly on the top of his head. “Surprise foxy, now you will know that I mean it fondly.” A few seconds after within a blink his fox features have receded and his eyes their usual dark and unwavering coldness. “Satisfied? You are one of the few who knows the consulting criminal’s best kept secret” he gave him a wink before heading back to his desk.
