your vinyl record.

it was gifted to you on christmas about two years ago. you’ve always dwelled on wanting one of your own, but never had the balls to go out of your way to purchase one because they could get pretty pricey. a lot of your extensive research and effort you spent scouring the internet to find the perfect vinyl record you’d like pointed to signs of something completely out of your budget. well, not completely, but unrealistically obtainable with the numbers you’ve been receiving paycheck-to-paycheck from your job.

so, each time that the holidays were around the corner, and whenever your mother would ask for your christmas wishlist, you’d throw in several other items you’d like but never included the idea of wanting a vinyl record. that secret desire of yours was something you kept to yourself, something you never brought up in conversation, nor was it something you��d expect to receive unless it was coming out of your pockets.

lo and behold, on the morning of a wintery cold december 25, when you were gathered around the christmas tree with your siblings and parents to open your presents, there sat a box with a fragile sticker stuck to the wrapping.

since then your prized possession has followed you to college and your off-campus apartment whom you share with your three other close friends.

intak, especially, took a liking to your music player and never misses an opportunity to use it. whenever he visits your place (which is almost every day) he makes it his unrelenting mission to flip through your vinyls and place his pick of the day on to the turntable. his personal favorite is cigarettes after sex, a band you actually introduced him to.

while you don’t mind sharing things, especially with your partner, you’re pretty sure intak has used your vinyl record more often than you have. ultimately, you don’t mind. it’s rather endearing knowing that what’s yours also belongs to him.

shota doesn’t even need to ask for your approval. in fact, he already knows your answer will always allude to a ‘yes,’ but he does it anyway despite the electronic device already in his possession.

“of course,” you would say.

naturally you grew up owning multiple generations of nintendo ds’s. when nintendo came out with a new updated version you’d go to the game store to trade it in for store credit just to get the latest release. this routine continued up until middle school when your gaming hobby no longer prevailed itself in your interests.

as months passed and 2017 eventually rolled by, the internet buzzed with life after nintendo’s announcement about the upcoming hybrid console came to light. rest assured that you were one of millions who preordered the device and waited impatiently for it’s hard launch date to release in store.

but again, school started to pick up and extra curricula’s were time consuming, that playing video games became less and lesser of an option for you to indulge in.

leave it to shota to pick up your slack. because if it’s not super smash bros that he’s try-harding at, it’s either the suika game, animal crossing (if he really feels like it), or pokemon. an odd rotation but who were you to judge.

“wHat!” he yelps from the couch. “how did he dodge that!”

you giggle at his typical gamer-behavior, closely reminded of yourself.

the sony cyber-shot camera has been by your side since you were in the 5th grade.

it was a hand-me-down from your father’s box of electronic gadgets he owned back in the day; a lot of which were collecting dust in the garage for not being used in so long.

while tossing things away to relieve the clutter and deciding what to keep, you remember discovering the digicam at the bottom of the pile after laborious digging. your father briefly taught you how to turn it on and off, what button to press to take a picture, how to record a video, and the different settings you could play around with.

your digicam has followed you around the world to different countries for family trips, witnessed you graduate from high school, contained a lot of embarrassing photos of you and your friends, watched you grow since elementary to your first day of college, and captured numerous flicks featuring new faces.

when you started dating jongseob, your photo gallery has been nothing but candid pictures of you and him (mainly of you).

your boyfriend is constantly bringing it along with him to events or outings, because, in his defense, he just wants to create some memories for you both to look back on someday. sometimes he goes out of his way to point and direct you on how to pose.

once, over dinner, you asked jongseob if he’d rather upgrade to something better and not outdated, like a canon or even a proper film camera. however, he is not one to budge and refuses to give up the obsolete digicam he unintentionally took ownership of.

“it’s special,” he pouted. “and sentimental, too.”

you smiled, “i guess. i just can’t help but wonder if you prefer a greater upgrade.”

“trust me, this has everything i need. now show me that pretty smile of yours.”

141 Headcanons - Gaz

Can put his legs behind his head. No one knows how he manages to stay that flexible while also having that much muscle mass, but the entire 141 has sworn off sparring with him because his flexibility gives him an unfair advantage

Likes to play Animal Crossing with Ghost but his favorite video games are the original Pokemon games (Red Blue, Gold and Silver, Fire Red and Leaf Green, etc). He doesn't like the modern remakes as much, but he still plays them because they're nostalgic for him

Loves to cook but can't have anyone else in the kitchen with him. He also gets really defensive when people put salt/pepper/etc on the food he makes before trying it

Can falls asleep at the drop of a hat while in the field but he really struggles to sleep while on base/leave. He listens to music/ambient noise to fall asleep. It really helps to keep him from mentally spiraling in silence when he's trying to fall asleep

Not a morning person. His brain doesn't really wake up until at least 10am. Early morning briefings are his least favorite thing in the world. He requires at least three cups of coffee to get through them and wills till yawn the whole time

Grew up sailing and out of the entire 141, he's the one who's most comfortable on the water, which is why he's always picked for water missions. Say what you want about his diving skills, the man knows his way around a boat. He originally wanted to join the Royal Navy but ultimately chose the army instead

Will eat just about anything you put in front of him. He is the least picky member of the 141 and is regularly heard asking everyone else if they're going to finish various parts of their MREs. He has a stomach of steel and takes full advantage of it

Do you have any particular headcanons about the Ultra Beasts?

Technically every Ultra Beast is an entire species, but I’m going to refer to specific members of each species who have fallen through Ultra Wormholes at one point or another and formed a found family of sorts together.

Novelette the Nihilego

A mad scientist type of individual. Knowledge-hungry and a bit callous in the questions she may ask, but is ultimately kind. She just doesn’t understand many social customs from her home world, let alone the new one she finds herself in.

Physically weak. Prone to hiding behind others when startled— uses people as living shields.

She is OBSESSED with mystery dungeons. Those don’t exist back home, and she’s desperate to figure out how they work.

Glows slightly in the dark. Glows brighter when she blushes.

Basil the Buzzwole

This man is a brick wall of muscle and friendship.

He and Novelette (whom he calls Novi) are very close. He doesn’t understand many of her discoveries or the research that leads to them, but he does his best to be supportive and help her with any experiments. Chemical reactions are a favorite topic of study for them.

Extremely emotive in his body language. He has a hard time reading people who aren’t very expressive physically. Doesn’t matter how much emotion is in your voice— of you’re not striking a pose alongside what you said, he’s gonna struggle to know whether you’re being sarcastic or not.

He makes the best fruit salads. No one knows how. You can follow the same process as he does when making a fruit salad and it won’t taste half as good as one he prepared.

Alabaster the Pheromosa

Despite her cool, unaffected demeanor, she’s extremely caring and a bit of a worry wart.

Where she’s from, pheromosas are the only form of intelligent life because they were the only sentient species that was capable of surviving in the aftermath of a massive explosion of unknown origins which turned the entire landscape into a massive desert filled with a strange energy.

She HATES feeling dirty / seeing dirty objects. Keeping yourself, your belongings, and your loved ones clean was a big deal for survival in her world, and while she understands that it’s not as critical in this new world, she still shows her concern for others by cleaning their things for them and nagging them to wash up before meals.

She frequently confuses pokemon of similar body types for each other.

She can instantly reach 120 miles per hour / 200 kilometers per hour from a dead stop. This results in her practically teleporting up to people at times and scaring the life out of them. She’s constantly reminding herself to walk very slowly and match others’ strides.

Watcher the Xurkitree

Spends a lot of time rooted into the ground for days on end, completely unresponsive. Whenever a storm rolls into the area, she rushes over to gather energy from any subsequent lightning strikes.

Quiet and stoic. Rarely talks about herself or her thoughts and opinions. Spends most of her time silently observing the people around her.

She’s pretty zany once she opens up to others. Make no mistake, she’s still stoic as ever, but she’ll say the most out-there things with deadpan delivery.

Can’t eat food and is confused by how people get energy from unmoving solids. Has a lot of opinions on the ways different types of electricity feel to absorb.

Enjoys swimming and being submerged in water.

Etta the Celesteela

Unlike the other Ultra Beasts, she has no mixed feelings about the thought of returning to her world. She’s getting back there ASAP, and she’s never looking back.

Communicates psychically with others. She was confused when people asked her how far she could communicate with people from. There’s no known limit to this ability.

She also has a lot of similarities with grass-types, getting energy over the course of centuries while buried in soil. She doesn’t spend much time in dirt in this new world, however, because she’s found that sitting in large bodies of water helps her gather energy much more efficiently. She might be able to return home even without an Ultra Wormhole if she spends the next decade in water.

She enjoys Watcher’s company whenever she visits Etta’s lake.

Coda the Kartana

A noble warrior-type who believes strongly in chivalry and intense moral codes.

Boasts about his strength and skill in battle, but is a bit of a coward who refuses to fight without another person on his side and will flee the second he catches a glimpse of fire or moisture.

At one point, Bud folds a piece of paper into a shape vaguely resembling him, and he became her self-assigned sworn protector.

Is affected by Alabaster’s pheromones more than any other ultra beast or pokemon. Thankfully, they’re not too much of a problem unless she’s very angry, which isn’t a common occurrence— but if she’s in an argument with someone and he’s remotely in the same area, he’s going to end up barely conscious and very emotional.

King the Guzzlord

Prickly and irritable, though he’s not intentionally cruel.

Constantly starving. It’s a miserable thing, and causes him a lot of pain. He tries to focus on various intellectual endeavors instead of how hungry he is.

If a field of study exists, he’s researched everything about it that he physically could.

Etta is almost constantly chatting with him telepathically. He really appreciates her company.

Pipo the Poipole

She’d get along great with Celebi if they ever met.

Strongly admires Deoxys.

Is technically capable of evolving, and has been for a very long time, but prefers being a poipole much more to the thought of becoming a naganadel.

Despite how different they are, King is her best friend, and she’s always secretly pestering Novelette and Basil about finding some way to make people feel full so that she can help ease her friend’s misery.

Chorus the Stakataka

Each brick is technically its own being— but they all form a single, unified consciousness that calls himself Chorus.

Absolutely loves music, which apparently doesn’t exist in his world, which is largely silent. He identifies strongly with songs being made up of multiple measures, melodies, and instruments— hence the name he chose for himself after entering this world.

He’s capable of removing individual bricks from his structure and placing them in different locations to observe the area. He’s not capable of remotely accessing the senses of any removed bricks, but gains the memories collected by the bricks when they’re reincorporated into his structure.

Ferryman the Blacephalon

A gadfly-type character who is always prodding people for reactions. Is constantly looking to make Watcher’s stoic demeanor falter.

He has a rather cruel sense of humor, and no topic of joke is off the table for him. Bud dislikes him greatly for this reason.

Gets his energy by feeding off of others’ emotions. The stronger the emotion, the better the fuel, so he likes to scare the life out of people by sneaking up behind them and making his head explode.

Has hidden depths that he refuses to acknowledge due to something unpleasant about his past.

Haven the Deoxys

Though he’s not your typical ultra beast, he has enough similarities with them to be considered an ultra beast native to this world.

An amnesiac who recalls very little from before he crash-landed on earth in a meteorite. He’s fascinated by the world around him— especially auroras, which he claims make noises like someone speaking nonsensical sentences.

Very fond of Bud. Despite his unfamiliarity with the concept of bonds developed past the depth of simple acquaintances, he considers her family. He’d give anything to make her smile.

Enjoys writing. He’s not very good at it (according to him) but he likes creating short story collections especially.

Necrozma the Necrozma

The best grandpa in the world.

Bud the Human

While she’s not an ultra beast, she’s been absorbed into their found family after Deoxys encountered her while she was lost and concluded that, as a creature that isn’t a Pokémon, she obviously must be an ultra beast.

As much as she loves her family in the main TPiaG cast, she finds it very freeing to be in a new group outside of them. Even after returning to live amongst humans in the Future, she makes sure to visit the long-lived ultra beasts she befriended in the Present.

She gets a lot of individual nicknames from the ultra beasts— pretty much every one of them has a unique way to address her.

This girl is collecting adopted parents like they’re trading cards. Someone stop her. She’s too powerful.

She's a ratfolk ("Burmecian"). She's a dragoon. She's been looking for her boyfriend for 3 years and he has amnesia when she meets him once and then she never sees him again after the place housing the remains of her people is blown up. And still she goes on to save the world.

Lulu:

A black mage with some peak Final Fantasy fashion and her casting medium are a series of stuffed animals. Also she's very focused and taciturn and she ultimately falls in love with her dead boyfriend's goofy older brother which is a fun archetype.

Rica Brosca:

DA dwarves are so crunchy. She's castless (the lowest social class in dwarven society). Her sibling is a gangster and her bodyguard. She's fucking a Prince (possibly becoming King based on player decisions). She's the hottest girl in Dust Town and everyone knows it.

Bubbles:

She's hardcore. And an absolute baby. Love a strong girl who is also just. A girl.

Jessie/Musashi:

Lace Harding:

I reiterate: dwarves! But Lace is super cool and I love her.

Jesse Faden:

Okay I haven't played Control myself but I watched my partner play the whole thing which is certainly enough to say Jesse is cool. Her internal monologue and her friend are great and her single minded pursuit of saving her brother that got her to the Federal Bureau of Control is undeniable.

Amber O'Malley/Amazigirl (Dumbing of Age):

She's a shut-in, she's a (not-so) super hero, she writes horny Batman fanfic, she's plural. Her character arc the past 14 years has been really interesting to see and we're still only like halfway through the school year!

Tiffany "Susan" Pompoms (El Goonish Shive):

Tragic backstory? Check. Magic color changing hair? Check. Anti-Vampire magic? Check. Strong sense of justice? Also check. Horribly embarrassing name she's tried to bury by going by her middle name? Super check.

Susan has had a lot of character growth over the past... many many years. I like her a lot.

Yor Forger:

Best mom a psychic could ask for ❤️Yor is a deadly assassin and a terrible homemaker and she can be kind of a dip and I love her dearly

Hi! I see a lot of screenshots and such from your blog for things like (I believe) Kamen Rider(?) I might be wrong please forgive me if so. I have always had a sort of vague interest in sentai media but never knew good hopping on points, do you have any personal recommendations for where an absolute beginner might jump in to watch shows like that?

if you're interested in tokusatsu, you can really start anywhere that looks cool or interesting to you! most seasons, aside from some anniversaries and the very rare sequel show, are pretty self-contained for the most part. diehard fans will make a big deal out of "good and bad starting points" but the truth is every show has been someone's first and hooked them on the genre, even the "bad" seasons (the poor quality of which is often exaggerated by fandom anyway) or the experimental entries not indicative of the wider franchise they're part of

but! if you want some real beginner friendly, you'll-probably-have-fun-with-this toku, my go-to recs for The Big Three™:

if you want to follow a team of heroes grow together as they fight evil in increasingly silly scenarios, super sentai's probably the series for you (and my favorite ^_^)

watch kiramager if you want a straightforward throwback to classic sentai. it's a back-to-basics season that gives you a good baseline of what sentai as a whole can be, while elevated enough by its stellar cast and infectious energy so as to never feel generic

shinkenger takes a more dramatic approach to the usual sentai formula, following a team of samurai recruited to serve under a lord who isn't telling them everything he knows. an incredibly stylish show that's almost sure to leave an impression

kamen rider began as a tragic hero, kidnapped by the villainous organization shocker and turned into a cyborg against his will, ultimately escaping and using his newfound abilities to put an end to their evil. since the original story, kamen rider has gone through a whole host of various different tones and storylines, arguably becoming the most versatile of the big franchises, though certain elements remain consistent like the near ever-present bug motif or our heroes using powers derived from evil for the sake of good

created in the wake of the 2011 tohoku earthquake disaster, kamen rider fourze was made with the goal to make children smile again, and that desire led to something really special. arguably The Power of Friendship™ show to end all others, and while its upbeat tone might not exactly be in line with Classic Kamen Rider™, it stands as a great entry point thanks to the passion behind it and its clear love for the genre

probably best experienced as blind as possible, kamen rider build is a rollercoaster of a series full of high stakes, mystery, intrigue, and Heated Drama Between Men™. if you want something more serialized that'll keep you on the edge of your seat throughout, build's one of the very best

i also wanna mention kamen rider gotchard, the currently airing series! we're only 8 episodes in at the time of this post, so you could catch up quick while still going through the backlog. very much a back-to-basics season, introducing pokemon-style creatures for our protagonists to catch in addition to the usual superheroics. it's been pretty cute so far :)

ultraman is a sci-fi series that typically follows a defense team created to defend the earth from aliens and kaiju, aided by the giant of light, ultraman. as opposed to the other two franchises where there's often a serial plot to follow and a centralized villain faction, ultra typically thrives with telling standalone sci-fi stories, usually aligning with a show's overarching theme and often compared to shows like star trek or the twilight zone, though recent seasons have been more willing to switch up the format

ultraman x is for anyone who's ever asked, "but... what if we could be friends with godzilla?" young XiO scientist daichi becomes bonded with the alien ultraman x and work together to protect the earth and fight for a future where humans, aliens, and kaiju can coexist. to me this is like, the platonic ideal of what ultraman is, and a perfect starting point because of it. also features several crossover episodes with past ultra seasons throughout the show, but it's all still very new-viewer friendly and could even entice you to check out some of those shows yourself!

ultraman orb, the 50th anniversary of the series, changes course by making the defense team a background component in favor of following amateur investigators and the mysterious, lone wanderer who's suddenly entered their lives (hint: he's ultraman). another iconic entry in the Heated Drama Between Men Cinematic Universe and a nice balance between ultra's classic status quo and a more modern ongoing narrative

i'd also be remiss not to mention the currently airing ultraman blazar, which i unfortunately have not been able to keep up with due to outside circumstances but have heard NOTHING but glowing praise for. it's simulcast on youtube every week with english subtitles AND an optional english dub!

A/N: In wave of inspiration I drafted 3 new fics yesterday and THIS WAS NOT ONE OF THEM. This one just spawned today and it's the fault of @dokidoki-muffin and her amazing art that inspired me🤭

Summary: Narumi and Hirotaka continue dating with the golden rule: no otaku talk during their romantic outings unless you would like to contribute to the piggy bank. A great rule for those who have money. (Also on AO3)

Such a beautiful spring day! It was the perfect Shoujo scenario date. A stroll in the park, a swan boat date surrounded by couples, a romantic picnic for two while enjoying the beautiful sunset...

"We're being so romantic, Hirotaka! Seeing us together like this, I ship us harder than Dr. Ratio and Aventurine, which says a lot! Their chemistry is really off the charts!"

Without a word, Hirotaka instantly held out the otaku-off-limits piggy bank. Narumi gasped. Where did he get that! As if the damn thing just spawned in his hands like a video game item!

"Too bad, Narumi. You held out for so long without breaking the rule," Hirotaka said dramatically.

"You brought Bernard?!" she shrieked.

"I still disagree with that name. But yes. Penalty time, you geeked out," Hirotaka said. Narumi sighed and covered her face with her hands.

"Geek out, geek out? H-how did I geek out?"

"You talked about Honkai Star Rail, again. On top of that, a BL couple. It is against our dating rule."

"You're so mean, Hirotaka! Besides, Honkai Star Rail is a game. You should geek out with me then."

"That's not the rule. Besides, I already told you it's not my kind of game. Pay up," Hirotaka said, and he shook the piggy bank. Narumi listened to the sound of the coins inside and she sighed.

"Can you forgive me this once?" she asked, feeling her pockets. Not even a 1-yen coin was left.

"Why? You know it's our date-rule. You made me pay too, the other day. Twice."

"But that was because you wouldn't stop bringing up Monster Hunter. Paying twice was the ultimate minimum compared to how much you geeked out."

"I also recall you made me pay when we went to Disney Sea too, last weekend."

"But you wouldn't stop doing these unnecessary raids in Pokemon Go!" Narumi whined. Hirotaka glared at her.

"I don't see the difference. So, rules are rules. You pay. That would be 500 yen, miss." He held out the piggy bank. Narumi fiddled with her clothes.

"Then... can I pay later?" she asked. Hirotaka cocked his head.

"I don't see why. Don't tell me you're broke?"

.... Narumi hesitated for too long, so Hirotaka gasped. "You are broke!" he yelled, and Narumi quickly grabbed his hands.

"No no no, I'm not broke! I'm just out of cash! Don't forget I bought us drinks and ice cream for our date today! That was everything I had with me... today! I have money at home, a-and on my bank account!"

Narumi felt her cheeks getting red knowing that was not true, especially when Hirotaka gave her this judging stare.

"Do you really?" he asked. "So when we go to your home now, or to the bank, you can pay?"

Narumi blushed and bit her lip. Nooo! "M-maybe?" she said. Hirotaka sighed.

"Just what did you do with your money this time?" he asked. Narumi nervously played with her clothes.

"Well... T-there were tickets on sale for Comic Con..."

"Ah, Comic Con. I remember you asked me to go. Those tickets are expensive," Hirotaka said.

"Hmm yes, you turned me down. S-so I still bought two tickets, for Hana-chan and me."

Hirotaka frowned. "And...?" he asked. Narumi lowered her head.

"I a-accidentally bought them twice."

Hirotaka jumped up again. "What! Twice? How?"

Narumi shrugged. "Well you see, these things happen. They were on sale on the website, and you have to be there soon because they sell out fast - a-and there was also a special sale that included a meet & greet with my favorite seiyuu on another website. I wanted to make sure to get at least one of them! I was in the online queue on the two websites and, actually ended up getting both! I didn't expect I would. It's a miracle."

"...A miracle that cost you a lot of money. So, you can just sell one set, right?"

"I can't. One has the VIP package and the other has the special meet & greet! They're different! I have to keep both!"

Hirotaka groaned. "Are you serious right now? You can't just pay entrance fee once and the special packages separately? Sounds like a scam. So anyway, that's why you're broke?"

"It's not a scam, just my mistake! Hana-chan didn't want to sell hers and I I kind of said I could keep mine too... And yes now I am broke, but only for the weekend. Hana-chan will pay me back her share when we are at the office. I have food at home too. I'll be fine."

It had really not been Narumi's intention to spill the truth about this unfortunate money situation to Hirotaka. It all went so well, with her just offering the little money she had for the least expensive treats today, such as drinks and ice cream, while Hirotaka paid their lunch, picnic snacks and boat ride like a true gentleman. He originally wasn't going to find out about the her blunder, and about her greed.

To think that her geeking out about one of her favorite BL pairings was the cause of this.

Speaking of...

"That's a shame. You do owe me then," Hirotaka said. Narumi jolted, sad that he was really returning to the penalty topic.

"Y-yes! I'll pay later!"

Hirotaka shook his head. "I mean, it's not about the money. You know that. More like, the small punishment for breaking the rule to keep our dates romantic." He smiled, and Narumi's heart fluttered.

"Romantic.." she mumbled with a blush, remembering why they had installed the rule in the first place. It wasn't always easy to be the friends-to-lovers couple after all.

"I think I can let you off, if we change the punishment. How about that?" Hirotaka suggested. Narumi cried out in delight and nodded.

"Yes. Yes! What should I do?"

Hirotaka stared into the distance. He pointed. "Run up and down those stairs."

Narumi stared at the huge ass stairs, leading to the shrine they didn't visit today for the exact reason of those stairs being too damn long.

"...Twice," Hirotaka said with a smirk. Narumi looked at him in horror.

"You might as well just kill me then," she said dramatically.

"Or... You'll let me tickle you. For..." Hirotaka said, taking his phone and tapping something. He then held up the timer.

"...Six whole minutes."

"Six? That's specific. Not five?"

"Six. So, would you agree?" Hirotaka asked. Narumi nodded.

"Sure, let's go home first."

Hirotaka shook his head. "No, we'll do it here." Narumi gulped and looked around the park. There were couples everywhere. Families... Dogs. People.

"Why, are you embarrassed? It's not like there's anyone we know here."

"B-b-but!" Narumi squeezed Hirotaka's hands and she shook her head. Did he really think so lightly of getting tickled in public? Someone as ticklish as her?!

"M-m-my dignity!" she stuttered, and she grabbed Hirotaka's shirt and tugged it repeatedly.

"You have to spare my dignity!"

"Hm? What dignity?" was Hirotaka's cold reply. Oof! Meanie! Narumi let out a whine and leaned her head against his chest.

"Is there really no third option?" she asked. Hirotaka chuckled.

"No, it's either stairs or tickling." The villain. He obviously knew Narumi couldn't even run up and down those stairs twice, having the stamina of a wanky banana peel. She'd strand in the middle and gasp for air like an old woman on her dying bed. Now that might even be more embarrassing than getting tickled.

"F-f-fine.... Tickle me then," she finally sighed. "But if people laugh at me, you have to stand up for me and tell them I'm beautiful."

Hirotaka smirked. "Don't you worry. You'll be doing most of the laughing here. Let's not mind other people."

That made Narumi blush, and she repositioned herself on their picnic sheet, shuffling awkwardly.

"S-so what do I do?" she asked while Hirotaka put his phone down.

"You come to me," he said. He turned on the timer and spread his arms.

"Come here," he said gently, and for a moment he really looked gentle, welcoming his precious girlfriend for a hug. But the moment she moved closer, she could already see his expression change. This wasn't Hirotaka being gentle, this was her villain boyfriend who was way too smug as he lured her into his tickle trap!

"Gotcha," Hirotaka said when she was so flustered she tried to move away again, and he locked her in his arms, bringing one hand to her side while the other moved up, immediately aiming for her underarm.

"Wawawa-wahahhaait Hirotakahahaha! Spahahare me a lihihittle!" Narumi whined when his fingers began to wiggle around their chosen tickle spots. She wriggled and squirmed in his arms, but Hirotaka reminded her he wasn't as weak as he looked - no offense, but it was the truth! And she couldn't help but love him for it.

"It's better to not mind them," Hirotaka said when Narumi couldn't help but turn her head to watch the judging couples in the distance. So embarrassing! It wasn't as if her getting tickled was the worst that was happening out here! Look, there were people kissing over there! Aaah!

"Buhuhut- aahaha! Wait no- not thehere!" Narumi laughed. Hirotaka had moved the hand on her lower side further up and tickled her ribs, while the other continued to gently wiggle its fingers under her arm. Narumi grabbed Hirotaka's jacket and she shook with hysterical laughter.

"I'm gohohonna ehehexplode!" she howled dramatically. Hirotaka chuckled fondly.

"No you won't," he said, and she gulped when he suddenly pushed her down on her back. He towered over her and grabbed both sides of her ribcage, his fingers racing up and down as if she was playing a game. Narumi squealed and tried to grab his hands and pry them off her as a reflex, but to no avail.

"Aaaahahaha nohoho it tihicklehehes!" she whined.

Hirotaka even captured both her hands and only needed one hand to pin them above her head. With the other he clawed and poked her ticklish armpit that was now helplessly exposed.

"HIROTAHAAKAAAA!" Narumi kicked her legs, messing up their picnic sheet. Despite everything she was very aware of the people staring at her and the way it made her blush - but even more aware of her boyfriend's fingers tickling and making her blush even worse!

"Three more minutes. We're halfway there," Hirotaka informered her, and Narumi shook her head wildly.

"Bwahahaha I cahahan't take ahahanymohohore!" she cackled. The fond smile Hirotaka showed her was so unfair.

"I'm sure you can," he said. He released her hands and continued the tickle attack by wiggling his fingers all over her tummy. Narumi screeched and tried to curl up. Reluctant to hit her precious attacker in the face, she pounded the picnic sheet like a madwoman.

"Plehehease! Hahahave mehehercy!" she shrieked. Hirotaka glanced at his phone.

"I will. After two minutes and fourteen seconds."

"Gahaahha I wihihill dieeehehehe!" Narumi wailed. She weakly tried to crawl away, but Hirotaka only needed to tickle her underarms again to make her collapse. He then settled with wrecking her socked feet for the remaining minutes. Hirotaka was pure evil.

"Nyaahhaahaha I cahahan't breheheathe!"

"You're doing just fine."

Narumi was sure he cheated. He must've secretly extended the timer or something, because no way had it actually been six minutes by the time he stopped. It felt like it was way longer. Narumi wrapped her arms around her stomach and wheezed.

Hirotaka looked at her with a charming smile.

"Game over, right? Well, I must admit this was way more enjoyable. If you like, we can just stop paying to Bernard and tickle-punish you instead, anytime you act like an otaku during our dates."

".....Pffffthehehe," Narumi giggled, muffling the sound with the back of her hand.

"Hmm? Still feeling ticklish?" Hirotaka asked teasingly. She shook her head.

"You called the piggy bank Bernard."

"Oh. Yes, I guess I did."

"And, introducing the tickle punishment as a permanent penalty means I get to tickle you too."

"....Oh. I guess so?" Hirotaka said, suddenly sounding a lot less smug and confident.

"And I will claim my six minutes right away, because you just said a gamer otaku thing."

"Huh?!"

"You said 'game over', that counts."

"Eh? It's a general phrase! Anyone would say 'game over'. Non-gamers would say it too."

"No, let me tickle you. Six minutes tickle punishment coming right up!"

"That's way too long for- aaaahh!" Narumi was suddenly no longer tired now that she chased after Hirotaka who was acting way more flustered all of a sudden. He tried to get away but she pounced on him and immediately began to tickle.

"Ahahahah! Nahaharumi! At leheheast tuhuhurn ohohon the tihihimer ahahaha!"

"Naah, you can keep count for me!" Narumi sang teasingly, and she enjoyed the sound of Hirotaka's cute laughter. She kind of agreed with him now. This was a lot more fun than the piggy bank.

And what was also a lot more fun: at the end of their park date filled with embarrassing tickle punishments, Hirotaka came with the sweetest suggestion. He'd buy the extra ticket for Comic Con from her, and convince Kabakura to join Hanako as well. They would attend the event with all four of them, while Narumi and Hanako could experience all of the extras as they wished. Woohoo!

Evil tickle monster tendencies aside, he really was the cutest boyfriend ever!

Hi! What are some of your favourite comics you've read? Is there a particular one that inspired you to start making your own? When did you decide that was what you wanted to do?

Oooooh that is a dangerous question to ask (I could talk about my favorite books forever) (don't ask about my book collection spreadsheet).

The comic that made me want to make comics was Pokemon Adventures by Hidenori Kusaka and Mato. I was around eight at the time, and I had read other comics before that, but nothing stuck like the first three volumes. Some of my first comics were Pokemon fan comics made from folded pieces of copier paper stapled together and drawn in pencil.

My favorite comic is of course One Piece by Eiichiro Oda (I'm sure my badge gave that away haha). I've been a fan since I was 11 or so, and this series has caused my bookshelf to collapse not just once but twice! While Pokemon Adventures made me want to make comics, One Piece inspired me to become a professional comic creator. To make something like that (perhaps not at that scale but in impact), something that makes so many people around the world have better happier lives, is my ultimate goal as a comic creator.

For art, I love stuff like My Hero Academia, Death Note, Bakuman, Fraction and Aja's Hawkeye, and The Promised Neverland. For writing, I like Hark! A Vagrant, Mob Psycho 100, Chainsaw Man, and Pluto. That's certainly not to say I don't like the writing of the art comics or the art of the writing comics. I just appreciate them for different things. For comics I'm in the middle of reading but haven't been able to catch up completely yet, I love Blacksad and Golden Kamuy.

I'll stop there since I have work to do on page 18 and I could go on forever about any of these, but go check these comics out!

I'm relatively new to the fandom of submas, but I've become an active Pokemon fan about two years ago when I started playing the games! I'm pretty sure I've been aware of the Subway Bois (and Pokemon) before, but the brainworms started when @4tactsart infected me lol, and then @/waywardstation's works with Uncle Ingo and Akari...... uncle-niece dynamic is my ultimate weakness (it must be a sign, because the first Pokemon game I've ever seen was a letsplay of Pokemon Black 2... gen 5 is still my favorite in terms of pokemon)

Thanks again for the warm welcome! It's not that often I draw characters or games I obsess over haha, so I hope y'all like my doodles of them and my other work too :/3

HI, very random question but: which are your favourite Pokémons? :3 I saw sth that reminded me of it and I know you are the Pokémon guy so 👍🏼✨️ Also, may I ask for favourite humans too? :3 I feel like they are not mentioned much... WAIT, it was Guzma, innit? :D

YES I AM THE POKEMON GUY!!! I don't post about it a whole lot these days but it was like my favorite thing ever growing up and I still love it a whole lot :3

My favorite Pokemon is Zoroark! The "illusion fox" Pokemon, they can even disguise themselves as humans using their illusions!

My favorite type is the Dark type so most of my favorites are dark types, like Mightyena (it's a hyena!), Houndoom, and Greninja :]

I'd definitely be a dark-type specialist in universe, with my partner Pokemon being a Zoroark of course ^w^

Another one of my big big faves is Mewtwo <3

AS FOR THE HUMANS.... Guzma is my second favorite!! Love that guy so so much but my ultimate favorite character will always be Cyrus, the leader of Team Galactic.

I unfortunately relate to him... a lot. He's like if Schizoid PD were personified in the flesh in the Pokemon world, I fear. He was emotionally neglected as a child and as a result cut himself off emotionally from everyone around him, viewing attachments and emotion as the root of all suffering. His solution to this? To USE PRIMORDIAL POKEMON DEITIES TO REMAKE THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE WITHOUT EMOTION, OPERATING SOLELY ON LOGIC. He's a surprisingly deep and bizarre character for the franchise, he has problems and issues and I love him v much

Welcome to the Ultimate Blorbo Bracket, season 3!

This will be the final Blorbo Bracket tournament and this time around, all of the previous characters that competed in the other two tournmanets will be competing again for Ultimate Blorbo status!

However, that won't be all though! Submissions for new characters are open once more for newcomers to come along and compete! The rules and criteria will be as follows:

The Champions from the previous two tournaments will not be allowed to compete again, which were Ingo and Emmet from the Pokemon series (sorry Submas fans!)

Feel free to submit your favorite character from any series! Whether it be tv show, video game, movie, book, web series, etc!

You are also allowed to submit as many characters as you like! If you have a lot of favorite characters from different series, or if you have more than one favorite from a single series. The power is yours!

Propaganda for your blorbo is allowed! The ask box is always open!

Most importantly, please remember to be respectful towards fellow voters and their respective characters! Don't forget to have fun!!

FFXIV Swap: Relaxation Edition!

A swap gift playlist for @ubejamjar feat. their WoL, Ajisai Kawanami, playing to the suggested theme of Relaxation! I suppose you could call this "Lo-Fi Beats to Rotate Your WoL To"? Because that's what I sure did making this! It's got a little bit of everything I felt would resonate with your WoL, from vibes and aesthetics to shipping.

And below the cut are some brief blurbs on how and why each entry made it into the playlist itself! Thank you much for your patience, apologies for the lateness, and I hope you enjoy giving this a listen as much as I did crafting it!

The Last Stand (Masayoshi Soken): Personally, one of my favorite Endwalker tracks to vibe to. I heard it in my head as I read your ask prompt entry titled "The Perfect Date" with Ajisai and Aymeric. There's something about the acoustic that really resonates with the notion of relaxation, which is fitting considering it plays during downtime moments in Endwalker. I think it also really fits the Aesthetics section of the "5 Character Associations" tag game you did!

I Still Miss You (Bernth): A piece I found from a primarily instrumental guitarist I listen to that I checked out after noticing that you shipped Ajisai with Haurchefant, given his ultimate fate, as well as the "5 Character Associations" at play once more ("Loneliness after your lover goes home" under Emotions/Feelings) while still tying instrumentals to relaxation.

Easier (Crane Wives): Found in an ask while trawling through Ajisai's character tag, so I figured I'd add it in! You also already did the lyric analysis yourself, too, and I can see how it lines up!

Vanilla Twilight (Owl City): There's something about the lyrics of missing someone dear to you that resonates with what I can feel from Aymeric being unable to accompany Ajisai on her travels past Heavensward, save for a few instances later down the MSQ, coupled with the colors blue and purple and starry skies and winter mornings in the Associations post, while also tapping into the more lowkey vibes I'm aiming for.

Rule #1 - Magic (Fish in a Birdcage): A song I found while music-surfing, and after I gave it a listen, it reminded me of your "A Perfect Date" vignette, moreso the latter half after Ajisai and Aymeric leave the cafe they were at and retire to her abode. It's the combination of the more private quarters and the repeated lyrics:

"There is magic in this room I don't know if you can see it There is magic in this room I don't know if you can feel it It's called love Some call it love Love"

as they just spend the rest of the night in each others' presence.

6. Between Twilight (Lindsey Stirling): This was mainly on vibes from the low-key violin that comprises most of this track and resonance with...well, not just her aesthetics, but with some gposes of her general travels and less strenuous MSQ moments.

7. Foreverglow (Lindsey Stirling): It was right under the above song in the album listing, but this time it has lyrics. Still has the same vibes as the above, but the lyrics have the song hone in more on the night sky aesthetic.

8. Starlight Waltz (Ponyphonic): Another find from music-surfing. Pulling from your Wondrous Tales prompt "Lost Together" as well as that starry sky aesthetic. Well, it's a waltz, and it calls to mind the dance in the prompt. It fits both of these separately, but not necessarily together, if that makes sense? Mainly because that particular Gpose isn't shot at night.

9. Twinleaf Town (Pokemon Diamond/Peal/Platinum OST, cover by insaneintherainmusic): Ah, Twinleaf Town my beloved. Your hometown in the Gen 4 games. Comfy and cozy and safe. In Platinum particularly, the climate has turned a bit colder in Sinnoh compared to its predecessors, noted by patches of snow around the neighborhood and the characters dressed warmer. I think all that fits some of Ajisai's softer vibes, aesthetics, and Gposes.

10. Nobility Sleeps (Masayoshi Soken): And for the finishing touch, I just had to add a track from Heavensward to allude to Ajisai having love interests in both Haurchefant and Aymeric! So, I picked Nobility Sleeps, which plays at night in the Pillars in Ishgard! It's a soothing track, imo, which is a given with the time of day you can hear it in-game.

I'm not sure if you're taking ask at the moment but if you are, what do you think of Toedscool and Toedscruel? There some of my favorite pokemon in Paldea!

(Quick note: We're getting into the SV requests now and the official art isn't out yet (and might not be for several weeks), so I'm going to rely on scans and in-game models. Chances are my opinions won't change when the actual art comes out, but if it does I'll reblog and update later.)

My problem with Wiglett—which I'll summarize here, for those who haven't read that review—was that it was, ultimately, a waste of the idea of convergent evolution 'mons. The concept didn't feel justifiable as its own thing, and the design was bland and too similar to the original.

I am therefore happy to say that, in my opinion, the Toedscool line is a major step up. It's far stronger both conceptually and visually than the Wiglett line, and is more justifiable as a convergent evo instead of a regional. With the Wiglett line, it felt like it could've just been a water-type Diglett regional that happened to look a bit like a garden eel; but with this line, it would make no sense for a squid to suddenly go onto land, grow legs, and become a fungus. It's also much more obvious, visually speaking, what they were going for and what the difference between the two species is.

When this line was first leaked, I was hoping for something based off of the bleeding tooth fungus, because it would fit the original line's red orbs. While GameFreak didn't go down that route, they did make another mushroom reference: the wood ear mushroom, which is a Japanese pun (translating out to "tree jellyfish"). Toedscruel is bit closer to these mushrooms in appearance, while Toedscool is more akin to a mica cap:

Visually, Toedscool is relatively similar to the original, with a few changes; namely the color and the orbs being markings instead, to better fit the bell-mushroom shape. That may sound underwhelming, but what makes this line is the fact that it has legs now:

Nothing is funnier than watching this noodle-limbed thing flop about and running at speeds it really doesn't seem like it should be able to reach. It's not only hilarious, but gives something to instantly make it distinct from the original.

And Toedscruel? Somehow, it's even better. It keeps an equally silly walk animation (this time hopping instead of running), but really starts to depart from the original design more while still being identifiable as something Tentacruel-esq.

Visually, the noot-noot snout is delightful, and feels like a natural change from Tentacruel's beak. The changes made to the dome are subtle but really help to convey the mushroom shape, and the legs work well as "roots" of sorts.

The biggest change though is the colors, and I have to say, they look fantastic. The brown likely references the aforementioned wood-ear mushroom, while the lime green gives it almost a glowing effect. The pink accents are subtle and work nicely with the brown, and help to tie it back to Toedscool's palette. I've always liked Tentacruel just fine, but honestly, this design just blows the original out of the water (both figuratively and literally).

Overall, I'll happily welcome more convergent evos if they're as good as this line is.
