I can't get over the fact that D-16 wore Megatronus's insignia proudly because he was the prime he admired the most. The moment Sentinel's true nature was revealed that he had betrayed and killed the Primes, D-16 learned that his life was nothing but a lie and was a product of a system, thus allowing his anger and vengeance to consume him because he has misled Cybertron and treated them like slaves all so he could gain the power.
Megatronus died trying to protect his home and yet D tried to do the right thing, only it became personal and he fell down a darker path. He killed Sentinel and took his cog stolen from his hero, wanting to avenge his glory only to become the very thing he set out to destroy. Power hungry and no longer showing mercy or spite to his enemies.
Megatronus's name was disrespected and tarnished as he becomes the face of the Decepticons, the rebellious faction born from the deception and lies they endured under Sentinel's rein. They will not be deceived again and thus he will use that to bring destruction to everything he has built. Everything his former friend, the one who betrayed him just like Sentinel, Optimus Prime stands for.
Megatron thinks he is saving everyone by taking out Sentinel but the only thing he cares about is himself and what he wants. Angry at a system that took his rights away and taking it back by force.
He set out to destroy the person that took his hero's legacy away only to go against everything that they stand for.

A bit of a loaded question, I know, but do you have any TF ships you prefer and would like to share?
I need you to be aware that you're opening pandora's box here. The vibes range anywhere from "god this is hot" to "god this is cute" to "their dynamic is so fucking interesting and i want to study them under laboratory conditions" to "this hurts so much and I need the drama, I am CRYING" to smashing barbie dolls together. I have crackships you ain't even THOUGHT about. I throw ships at the wall just to see if they stick. I like a lot of ships. Arguably too damn many. So many that I'm putting this under a cut to spare people from the long post. So many that I have to sort them by continuity so you're not staring at an unorganized list longer than do you love the color of the sky.
TFA
shockbee I feel has a lot of the potential for shockwave fearing what happens when bee finds out he's not longarm. Like a lot of the scenes in auto boot camp read to me like shockwave really did want bee as an ally while he climbs the ranks, and there's some juicy potential for shocker starting out as just using him until he actually catches feelings. Especially in aus where bee really did join the elite guard. Like can you imagine the drama. The heartbreak. The trust issues. Bee realizing he never really knew the guy he could trust most. Wondering if he's even safe to be around. If anything was even real. Shockwave wondering the same things. Hhhhhhhhh.
I do enjoy shockblurr conceptually but I'm not crazy about how they're usually portrayed in the fandom bc I feel like we're all forgetting that shockwave is a ball of anxiety and murder, and Blurr is a straight laced fuckin nerd who can't shut his mouth. An overpowered, highly capable nerd, but a nerd still. I like what the artist katzske does with them a lot tho.
I'm also a blitzbee enjoyer but on a less "bee can fix him and itll be so sweet" level and more "god imagine how annoying they'd be together." Looney Tunes levels of fucking with people. Either that or bumblebee is just horny on main and really likes the thought of bagging a con, but then he goes and catches feelings.
prowlbulk owns my entire heart. They're so sweet on each other and prowl really respects and appreciates bulkhead way more than bulky's used to. And bulkhead admires so much of prowl's skill and perspective. They work so well together as a couple and it's fucking adorable. With a hint of tragedy bc. Well. You know.
Bulkbee is also incredibly cute bc I'm a sucker for besties that very slowly realize they love each other so much it makes them look stupid. Good in romantic or qpr flavors. Bee already climbs all over bulkhead like a squirrel, they're so fuckin affectionate and very very stupid in social settings.
I like Optimus and blackarachnia from a drama standpoint bc God. They are tragic. They are MESSY. I genuinely think there's no happy ending for them. The trust is gone. But they still miss each other so much and they just CANT move on, so they keep stringing each other along. They're just hurting themselves and each other every time one does anything nice for the other. It's the kinda shit that just slowly rips your heart out. OP please don't text your ex. OP pLEASE
Megop is a classic but I feel we as a fandom underutilize how much Optimus pisses off Megatron. He is an asshole cat knocking shit off the counter for attention. Megs lets him be worse when he is so so fucking tired of being good. He loves that he hates him and he hates that he loves him. Full on "my esteemed rival" "dearly detested." Fighting each other is cathartic and addictive. Megatron finds it infuriating but he can't deny how much he likes having a worthy opponent, how fitting it is that the cosmos sent him so deadly a nemesis, and yet how lame it is that he was so forgettable at first so now he feels dumb being mildly obsessed with him. Optimus is just glad he has someone who doesn't expect him to be perfect and nice and upstanding. He can vent out a lot of his less noble feelings or impulses that he's had completely repressed for ages. The pressure's off in a lot of ways. And I think in an enemies to lovers sense, watching them figure out how to make that setup and that very odd mutual desire to be in each other's lives into something healthier could be really compelling. Or tragic in a "why did I let myself need you? Why the fuck did I let myself need you?" way.
Beeprowl is funny but I only really like it in a "you annoy me SO MUCH let's make out about it" way. Nothing committed, just dispelling the tension without having to kill each other. It is just kinda nice seeing them have genuinely sweet moments though. Squidbob ass relationship.
Lugnut and Strika are the perfect Decepticon power couple and I love them so much. So very much. Lugnut loves his big terrifying wife capable of leveling cities, and she loves her sweet devoted husband who could throw her across the room. I think they break chairs over each other's heads for fun and have been trying to seduce Megatron into a threesome for ages.
Shockwave and Megatron are also incredibly good. The loyalty. The "I commit my whole existence to you. I am yours, in mind body and soul. I will go wherever you need me to, I will put myself in immeasurable danger for you, just please say I'm doing a good job" and "all my efforts would be lost without you. In a world where I have been vulnerable and terrified, where I have been stabbed in the back by people I thought I could wholly trust, I can look at you and know, unwaveringly, you won't do the same. I trust you completely." It's Delicious. It's absolutely codependent but god it's tasty.
Also honestly? Bulkhead and the constructicons could make a pretty cute throuple. He wants them to be better. They want him to be worse. He just wants them to do honest work and they want him to stop letting stuffy, elitist autobot society control him so much. They love each other, they're friends (even if the constructicons don't totally remember the first night they met him). And they really do enjoy each other's company. They're just guys being dudes. Just dudes being guys. Just guys being gays. (It's also just nice when bulkhead gets to be the smaller one, scrapper totally carries him around like a big ol' cat).
I really like prowl being torn between lockdown and jazz. They're the devil and angel on his shoulders. Lockdown tempting him into relapsing, feeling himself fall into old habits, forsaking everything he's learned about patience and respect and being conscientious of the world around him. Jazz picking him back up when he slips, making him WANT to keep being better. And prowl can't decide if he wants to be loved in spite of all his toxic traits or BECAUSE of them. It's got me in a chokehold, your honor.
Megastar is fun in tfa because 1. It's implied Megatron never actually abused starscream while they were on the same side (the first thing starscream says after waking up from being shot is "YOU DARE STRIKE ME, MEGATRON?" which reads to me like this is a new development). Megs doesn't actually hurt anyone working for him other than Sumdac, who he fucking hates (at least not on-screen), and the only reason he was as aggro to starscream post-revival was because he knew screamer is the reason he spent all that fucking time as just a severed head. He used to actually trust him, sort of, even if he was a scheming, sycophantic little weasel. And 2. It's pretty obvious they have history together. I genuinely truly believe they were exes and Starscream only planted a bomb on him because he couldn't be fucking normal about the divorce. You look at how they bitch at each other in deep space and then immediately fall into what is most likely their old dynamic of getting things done and shooting the shit and tell me they never had an intense romantic stint that went horribly wrong. Starscream calls him Meggy in his internal logs for fucks sake.
Ratchet x Arcee are also very very cute together. Old married dorks. Ratchet's so soft with her and he wants her to be okay. She genuinely likes him and he makes the nightmare she's subjected herself to bearable. "Don't call me sir, I work for a living!" They're both horrifically traumatized, they understand each other on a level most bots can't, and they can ground each other when it gets bad. God. You know they're slow dancing in the kitchen together. You know they're sickeningly domestic with each other. They are holding hands in the park on a comically small bench on earth right as we SPEAK.
Oh also sumdac x megatron. It started as a crackship of mine but I really love the idea of sumdac feeling legitimately guilty for taking Megatron apart and unknowingly violating him the way he did, even if Megatron is terrible. Like the dynamic of "you lied to me" "if I told you who I really was, I would be dead. I don't owe you the truth when you held me captive. I was vulnerable. I was TERRIFIED. I did what I had to in order to keep myself safe. And you come to ME with accusations of doing you wrong? When YOU held all the power? And then when I'd taken back the power you left me without, made you feel what I felt, I'm a monster?" "I never meant to hurt you" "Well you did. And now you know just how much damage you did." Like it's such an interesting angle, ESPECIALLY when you consider that sumdac probably grew to legitimately care about Megatron while he was in his lab. He wanted to do right by him. He wanted to see him restored and thriving. He was his robot buddy that made a birthday gift for his kid once. Some part of him probably misses him after he's gone, some part of him probably feels guilty too, even through all the rage and hurt and fear and betrayal. That's complicated feelings!! That's juicy!!!!!
I like the thought of Shockwave and Optimus but that's mostly for sexy reasons. Something about a big, smooth talking, scary cryptid monster, very well spoken and elegant, seducing Good, Upstanding Autobot Optimus to The Dark Side. This is mostly because Optimus is a huge nerd and so is Shockwave. I think Shockwave could potentially pique his interest with uncensored versions of the history Optimus is already a huge dweeb about, and seal the deal with a few gentle touches and honeyed words. From Optimus's perspective this is Very Obviously a Honeypot Trap but the trouble is Shockwave is very hot and very sweet on him and starting to seem less and less evil so he's not sure how long he can keep his guard up when the temptation is this strong. He has a duty to fight Decepticons and shut out their lies but man. He's so tired. And Shockwave's berth is very warm. There is something satisfying about seeing him choose to be selfish after nearly a whole show of him taking the high road. (It's even better if he gets attached when eventually Shockwave's Cool Sexy Collected vibes falter and he sees how much of an anxious, panicky dork he actually is)
I also just kind of like the idea of team prime being a polycule (other than ratchet, who is just watching the young bots having relationship drama and rolling his optics (the age gap and mentor role make me personally a little uncomfortable but I have nothing against people who do include him, they're all adults, its chill)). I like the thought of these losers getting home after a long day and collapsing into a cuddle pile, either on the couch or on the floor. They all love each other so much already, I think they should kiss about it, but they're super repressed so it's So Very Shy and Cautious and Sweet.
The same goes for the Decepticons but more in a "cons are pretty casual about sex anyway, they're in close proximity, and they tolerate each other at least so nearly everyone has a fuck buds setup with each other" way. I feel like the autobots are super repressed in that regard so the cons started leaning into being sluts to stick it to the mech along with all the other freaks shit they're cool with. God help Blackarachnia, she goes from Autobot repression to all her coworkers being sluts on main and she Does Not Know what to do about that (also it would make a lot of sense if that's why she started leaning into the femme fatale thing so hard)
TFP
Megop is also Very Good here. Literally the most divorced robots to ever exist. Megatron NEEDS Optimus back and Optimus still holds a torch for megs, but it's so fucking funny because they're clearly on fundamentally different levels of "I miss you." Like Optimus is kinda sad and he does want the old Megatronus back, but Megatron does these whole fuckin elaborate stunts to get Optimus to pay attention to him again and then locks himself in his room with a pint of ice cream and dark energon to cry about him. Mans is NOT coping. Alternatively, Optimus is coping just as poorly on the inside and he really does still love Megatron just as much but he knows that's a selfish desire that he quiets with everything else he sacrifices about himself in the name of being a good leader. Least repressed Optimus.
Optiratch my beloved. Gay old men who would do anything for each other, even when they really don't agree on how to proceed. They're best friends, they're husbands, they're crushing on each other and they think it's unrequited, they just started dating, they've been married for eons. All of it works soooo well. They know each other well enough that they can communicate by just kinda grunting in specific ways. I need them to hold hands SO bad.
Bulkhead and wheeljack should get to kiss on the mouth I think. If Arcee can call Wheeljack Bulkhead's boyfriend, and bulkhead does not deny it, logic dictates they should in fact French kiss sloppy style for a whole minute on live TV. It can happen. Only on the hub.
KOBD are adorable together, they are so unhinged and stupid and they love each other so much. Like the team rocket of the nemesis. Breakdown loves his husband soooo much and knockout misses him so bad when Silas gets him. And you KNOW they're freaks bc knockout is totally convinced that breakdown would've loved seeing how he torments Silas in bd's body. He's probably right about it too.
I also wholly support Ms. June Darby for trying to seduce Optimus. Me too girl, get that robo ass. Go get jack a new cooler dad. It's also very cute to imagine Optimus, the bigass 30 foot robot, the stoic leader of the Autobots who keeps stonefaced through just about anything, flustered and crushing on a very small and very flirty human.
For some reason the show was kind of trying to tease Bulkhead x Arcee for exactly one episode and then never again and like. Look. I understand it was a forced het ship that was there to distract people from how gay they accidentally made the show. I know it'd probably just be Arcee rebounding after losing Cliffjumper. But I think them having a fwb type relationship while she works through her feelings could be interesting. Though this could just be because Bulkhead is big sweet and comforting and him holding anyone and making them feel safe while they're Going Through it is enough to get me saying God I Wish That Were Me.
Bumblebee and Smokescreen appeal to me in the same way seemingly very hetero frat bros who are apparently a very sweet and affectionate gay couple do. It's an inherently funny irony and also theyre just both cute himbos.
TFP Megastar is horrifically unhealthy in general and there is absolutely no way in hell it could work out. Not pre-war, not post-megs-redemption, nada. Which is why it has my brain in a chokehold. This is one of the ships I like because it's fascinating and because god it HURTS. Like I have my gripes with how the show portrayed the abuse overall but there were some things they were cooking with. Starscream being an obvious victim but then turning around and inflicting it on everyone around him? Girl no, the cycle of violence and abuse!!!! Girl no, you're refusing to do the complex emotional work of accepting that what happened to you wasnt okay and thus you carry out the behaviors you've gaslit yourself into thinking are normal!!!!!! Girl no, society has failed you and you have no support systems to help you break the cycles, but you also simply refuse to try in the first place because your pride wouldn't allow it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The cortical psychic patch was literally my fave showcase of their dynamic in the whole show. "I don't want to play this game anymore!" Like jfc ouch. Also the thought of post redemption Megatron lamenting how he treated Starscream, not having considered the damage he's done to him before now. Trying to make it right and only making it all worse by inserting himself into Starscream's life again and realizing how badly he's broken him, how fucked it is that Starscream seems to revere him after EVERYTHING. God. GOD. I'm in agony.
Rescue Bots
Speaking of starscream in the cycle of abuse, KOSS has postcanon potential. (Post Predacons Rising, rid does not exist 😌) Like. They've proven they feel some type of way about each other. "I've always admired your lustrous finish." "😏" But Knockout was the first person in starscream's life to set a boundary in a healthy way. And when starscream inevitably ignores those boundaries and knockout leaves, you know how much it fucking hurts starscream to realize how badly he fucked up. But of course, the pride. He can't apologize. Can't admit he's the reason knockout betrayed him. So he'll choke back the tears. He'll try to, anyway. But he can't stop the agony in his voice while he feebly spits out "Fine! I hope Unicron eats you too!!" You know the second they shut the door on him, the waterworks started, and so did the closest thing to self reflection Starscream's ever done. He Has the Potential to be Better with Knockout, but he NEEDS to put in the work, and the suspense of wondering if he WILL fucks my whole shit up.
It is so close to canon that blades and bumblebee are boyfriends. Hell I believe it pretty much IS canon. He loves that bug so much. He gets jealous when he hangs out with Dani and not him. He hugs him for a photo the first chance he gets. And since we know blades is confirmed as being into dudes, I think we all know what they were getting at. TFP bumblebee has an anxious twink boyfriend that lives in Maine and we have no idea whatsoever if the rest of team prime knows.
Graham and boulder pine for each other like you would not believe. Once again, pretty much canon. You can't just have boulder keep telling Graham "well I like you just how you are" when Graham's trying to impress a girl and expect me to not think he has a big stupid gay crush on his best friend. They love each other so much as partners and as friends, I know damn well they'd be SICKENINGLY cute together as boyfriends. They'd probably try to stealth it at first bc a human and a giant robot alien in love? What'll the others think?? Gotta keep it secret. Sneaking off into the woods so Boulder can work on his "art projects" but in fact they are kissing. They're not as slick as they think they are, Chief Burns 100% picks up what's going on but he lets them think they're sneaky. Nobody actually has any problems with it other than Kade making fun of them a little but don't worry that's just him projecting.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, Heatwave and Kade are the worst fucking tsunderes about crushing on each other. Between heatwave refusing to let down the brooding tough guy persona and kade being so insistent on staying hyper masculine (to the point where mild internalized homophobia is inevitable), neither of them can just be honest about how much they mean to each other and they gotta resort to getting each other's attention by being mean in very low stakes ways. I am drowning, there is no sign of land, you are coming down with me, hand in unloveable hand, except they're not drowning and they're just dunking each other in a kiddie pool repeatedly.
Heatwave and quickshadow are fun for similar reasons but with less shit lord pranks and/or lowbrow bitching, and more classy verbal sniping and sparring with each other because heatwave thinks it's hot when quickshadow kicks his ass. They're insufferably competitive and I think that could be very fun and incredibly messy, especially since they both need to learn how to communicate. Very bisexual, they are forced to share the brain cell, 10/10
I also just enjoy the idea of all the bots being in a polycule the same way I like the idea for TFA's team prime. They're very sweet together and they clearly care about each other a lot. Its just kind of nice when they all hold hands together, you feel me? They're sneaking off to kiss in the bunker bc they don't know if the humans know dudes can like other dudes. They are also not as subtle as they think they are.
Oh also doc Greene and chief burns dated once when they were teenagers and it didn't work out but they stayed besties, nobody can change my mind on this.
Beast Wars
Dinobot and Megatron are exes, 100%. Dinobot is probably the only being in the known universe that Megatron actually kind of cares about other than himself and his rubber duck. Otherwise he wouldn't keep trying to fucking clone him to make a version that will never leave him. There's also some implications here and there that Megatron really did want the world to be better for Predacons (along with the desire for power, anyway) and that preds are genuinely treated unfairly, so there's a pretty compelling angle of dinobot having been drawn to megatron because he saw someone with noble goals and a way to fix their fucked up world before becoming disillusioned with the dishonorable tyrant he turned out to be.
Dinobot and Optimus are also very good together bc it really truly feels like Dinobot finally found the guy with honor he thought he saw in Megatron. And he's infuriating half the time because he isn't nearly as bloodthirsty as he's used to, but GODDAMN does he make him Feel Things. The entire episode Gorilla Warfare has me obsessed with them. The bitching. Dinobot freaking the fuck out and Optimus tenderly removing the seed pod stuck to the back of his neck that was freaking him out and only laughing at him a little. Dinobot constantly trying to choose violence. The stupid smile when Optimus also chooses violence and Dinobot realizes he fucked up. THE BEDSIDE VIGIL. "It was my shift" AND YOU KNOW THEY WEREN'T TAKING SHIFTS. THE FLOWER ON THE BEDSIDE TABLE. "it is good to have you back." "Back home or back to normal?" "...both." THEY'RE HOMOSEXUAL, YOUR HONOR.
Dinobot (shit maybe I just really like dinobot) with Rattrap is good for similar reasons but the vibes are totally different. DoOp is all soft and sweet and patient and light ribbing, Dinotrap is talking shit at each other as a love language. Dinobot is a good guy but he's also, fundamentally, a bitch. Rattrap has proven he can match his freak by bitching right back. They love each other by pretending to hate each other. To the point where if Rattrap doesn't hear any comebacks he genuinely starts worrying because "oh, we aren't playing the game, why aren't you playing, are you okay?" They have so many soft tender moments where they prove they actually love each other. Their last conversation is talking shit!!!! "You're just a slag spouting saurian, but it's nice to know where you stand." "Upwind of you for preference, rodent." They loved each other!!!!!! Rattrap is fucked up over losing him!!!!!!!!!!! It's bittersweet, it's tragic, it hurts so bad and I love them so much!!!! They're stupid your honor!!!!!!!!!!!!
On a much sillier side, I do love Rattrap x Rhinox. Rattrap kissed that man twice. On the mouth. On screen. Annoying little gremlin who goes "nyehhhh" x big stoic dude who goes "hn." And they're both tech guys so they probably work on projects together a lot. And they all survive and are fine bc beast machines isnt real 💖
I have my problems with Silverbolt in general but I cannot deny that he and Blackarachnia are pretty damn cute together. He loves his girlfriend, they trash her shitty ex together, she loves that he doesn't try to change her. She gets to be the bad girl and the sweet knight in shining armor still loves her. "Dark poison of my heart" like c'mon.
Airazor and Tigatron are also pretty cute AND they have the honor of being the first canon gay couple in the tf franchise bc of the Japanese dub, which made Airazor a dude but left the romance unchanged (the Japanese dub was also just generally fuckin insane tho so it's not all that shocking).
Waspinator and Terrorsaur are boyfriends for real and for canon, John hasbro told me himself.
RiD 2001
I ship skybyte with that one girl that lives in a state of constant talking-car-based torment. Why? Because when I watched rid with my roommate we had a running joke that eventually they'd meet and have a whole robotfucker romcom arc and it kinda just stuck. This is my only rid ship and I will not be taking criticism on it.
Cyberverse
Bumblebee, Hot Rod and Cheetor are in a polycule together and nobody can tell me they aren't. Just how it's gotta be.
I want Perceptor and Dead End to kiss so badly. They're technically canon already given how hard the creators ship them. They hold hands your honor. "only a bolthead would go out there... UGH I'm such a BOLTHEAD" HES IN LOVE YOUR HONOR.
Hot Rod and Soundwave are great as enemies to lovers, they're so annoying 💖. I feel like they'd start playing gay chicken and be married with three kids wondering when the other guy is gonna back out.
SHOCKWAVE AND WHEELJACK OH MY GOD. fellas is it gay to program your drones which are just tiny versions of your own altmode to dance funny to Tetris music specifically because it makes your lame ass boyfriend laugh and then keep that function eons after you break up and still remember exactly what the command is? Fellas is it gay to get kidnapped by your ex and then get really excited about all the cool shit he's been making while you were separated? I wish they could've gotten a happy ending man, they could've been so cute together.
I don't ship it romantically but I believe in Grimlock & Arcee qpr. They love each other so so much they would've readily died for each other. I love their dynamic, they're insane 💖
Same goes for Shadowstriker and Soundwave tbh. Decepticon besties, and Shadowstriker being aro kinda just feels right. I like to think they cuddle and talk shit about Shockwave while Sounders blasts heavy metal. They play cod as the most insufferable duo.
Megop in cyberverse is so good because it really feels like they Had a relationship but it was unstable and moved too fast and they just assumed they were on the same page about things without communicating properly until suddenly they were in serious disagreement, and TRIED to work it out in a mature way but they were simply Doomed From the Start. And then it culminates in a whole fucking war but it rages so long, and they are so tired of fighting, and they realize they want to try again because nobody was really to blame for how things ended because they both handled it poorly. I wish they got that chance to try again properly. I wish when Optimus retired to just fuck around and vibe, he could've taken Megatron with him. I wish they could've fallen in love all over again.
Oh also Slipstream and Windblade being lesbian enemies to lovers bait was Fucking Phenomenal and I Love it So Much. They're smug and terrible and I want them to make out. They can make each other worse 💖
G1
I have not seen that much of g1 but I do know a few things are absolute truth.
Soundwave is gay for Megatron. This is arguably reciprocated.
Shockwave is gay for Megatron. This is not reciprocated but it is taken advantage of.
Starscream vacillates between gay for Megatron and trying to kill him. Megatron seems to reciprocate but only a little bit. Enough to keep him alive because he's cute. But megs also gets a lot of cuteness aggression so he feels the need to chuck starscream against the wall every now and then.
Powerglide and Astoria are tied for the pinnacle of robot on human romance in the entire tf franchise with Tracks and Raul, and if none of them come back in ANY tf media, I will riot.
Cliffjumper and Mirage have fucked at least once.
Wheeljack and Ratchet are gay married.
Optimus is bisexual and he loves elita-1 but there is something distinctly homoerotic going on with Megatron.
Conclusion
I like when the robots kiss <3

I could really talk about any one of these robot fuckers but transformers prime Starscream specifically is such a bitch and I love him. I've loved his design from the beginning. The heels. The claws. The little spikes at his thighs. I want to grab him by the waist and play with him like a barbie doll. I would play with him like the bitchy sidekick to the Big Meangirl (who he secretly hates but also wants to kiss) he is. At first his voice got on my nerves but it grew on me so much. He's so wet pathetic fr <3
[image ID: a coloured digital bust drawing of starscream on a purple background. end ID]
the most treacherous cringefail bitch <3 starscream is so annoying but also something something the tragedy of a character who is a constant betrayer. absolutely no loyalty no trust panicked judas. no introspection whatsoever. I hate him and I need to study him like a bug /affectionate + derogatory. also licherally why does megatron keep him around after everything he's done like??? girl you really could just blow him up. I think starscream is like his little meow meow. but anyway

I accidentally deleted 2000 words of story for poor Soundwave last night and had to rewrite everything but tbh, they’re absolutely worthit. Their armor definitely makes me want to experiment with Celtic motifs for Hot Rod!
Full story below.
Suraya Widodo was born to parents Wijaya and Ni Made Saraswati on the island of Madura, Indonesia. They noticed that something didn’t quite seem right with their baby, who was fussier than most, threw fits when brought into crowded spaces and seemed mostly lost in their own thoughts, though this did little to dampen their love.
The name ‘Widodo’ (healthy) was given to Suraya (despite the masculine nature of it, which does lend to Suraya’s nonchalance about their gender in later years) in hopes that they would grow up alright despite their quirks.
Wijaya, a fisherman who wanted to give his family a better life in the more industrialized town of Bangkalan west of the island, pushed himself hard at his work, hoping to earn enough to allow them to settle down there comfortably.
He began to risk venturing out into ocean areas which were occasionally used as smuggling routes where more lucrative catches laid, careful to fish there during specific times to the day to avoid crossing paths with pirates and smugglers.
However, his luck ran out one day when a smuggling vessel came across him in broad daylight and silenced him from alerting the coast guards to their existence with five shots.
Suraya was five.
Saraswati, desperate to find a way to care for her child as the new breadwinner thought she had gotten lucky when a job scouter for a factory in Bangkalan came to the village. They were looking to offer work to single mothers as part of their corporate responsibility programme and extended the offer of employment to her and promised a hostel and training so she wasn’t out of her depth in the assembly line.
Seeing it as the best option, she left Suraya with her husband’s family while she worked and lived in a worker’s hostel on weekdays and returned to see Suraya every weekend.
She would give money to the family to care for Suraya in her absence, which was crucial since they weren’t fond of Saraswati (they had not agreed to Wijaya’s marriage) and found Suraya’s odd behavior off-putting and claims of ‘hearing voices’ potentially a sign of mental illness (which was fodder for them to demand even more money from Saraswati with the excuse that Suraya was a handful).
This routine continued until Saraswati was suddenly killed in a factory accident.
Suraya was nine.
The compensation for Saraswati’s death was enough for the family for only a few months and after it dried up, the neglect and abuse began. Though at times it was odd because Suraya seemed to know when they were in a bad mood and when they were looking for an outlet for their anger, and the child would somehow almost always magically disappear during those times.
Then an agent claiming to be from the government came to see them.
He claimed he had heard about Suraya via their mother and wanted to inspect the child to see if they would qualify for a place in a ‘special school’ for ‘different’ children, and this had sounded tame enough to the family, who allowed him to see the shy, withdrawn little waif.
However Suraya immediately could tell what his true intentions were—-to have them locked up in a testing facility to figure out their ‘mutation’—-and attempted to run, only to be caught by his fellow officers outside the home.
The family was paid compensation for officially relinquishing Suraya’s care to the state, and did so without question, only relieved to be rid of their ‘burden’.
Suraya was taken to facility after facility in the state for the first few years to have a battery of tests, many painful, run on them to figure out their ‘special ability’ as an Outlier and to see if it could be replicated.
When they were in their early teens, they were transported overseas to a different facility as a bargaining chip for intel, tech and the like, coming into the ‘care’ of people who intended to use them as a government asset.
They never saw daylight except during transportation and they began to plan their escape as they studied the facility’s layout.
Their first attempt at escape didn’t go well however; they were caught, dragged back and had their eyes burned and blinded as punishment (at this point they had shown their handlers that their highly-enhanced hearing made them capable of navigating the world in total darkness, so said handlers didn’t not see this as ‘damaging the goods’).
If the handlers thought that the punishment would deter them however, it didn’t; Suraya just became more careful and subtle with the planning of their next attempt.
The second attempt came during a transport session where there were less guards and less access to tech to subdue them, though it came with a problem they did not plan for.
In their first attempt, they had tried escaping into the countryside. In this one, they hurled themselves out completely unprepared into a world louder than any world they had ever known; downtown London on a weekend.
The cacophony completely overwhelmed their senses and they barely managed to crawl-stumble into an alley as bounty hunters were enlisted to track them down.
It was here that they ran into one Ramiro Vasquez (Ravage) who was immediately concerned about their situation and once figuring out the nature of their distress, gave them his headphones to drown out the noise and kept them safe and hidden until the bounty hunters had left.
He then took Suraya back to the rented apartment he shared with Lara Soelberg (Laserbeak) and both agreed to let the waif stay with them for as long as they needed to be alright, and the three formed a little familial unit as Suraya grew deeply fond of the two Beast Men whom they saw as two of the most compassionate people in a horrible world.
Ramiro however understood that Suraya needed tutelage to properly harness and deal with their Outlier ability; having heard whispers of a secret Outlier school run Senator Sharifuddin Waseem (Shockwave) and knowing Sharifuddin as one of the few good men in the Senate, he decided to take the risk and confronted the Senator about the matter, promising to keep the secret a secret in return for helping out Suraya.
As it turned out the threats were not necessary, as Sharifuddin was genuinely concerned for them and came to see them personally at the apartment. Initially, Suraya was apprehensive about meeting someone else about their abilities, remembering full well how the first such meeting ended, but to their pleasant surprise, they detected no malice in Sharifuddin’s intentions; only the desire to help.
They agreed to enroll in Sharifuddin’s Outlier institute, coming back home to see Ramiro and Lara every weekend.
They excelled in their classes and soon mastered their ability and knew how to deal with the overstimulation that came from it, to the point where they could walk the streets with no problem.
In the wake of murders of Senators Nikomedes Momus and Gayathri Sharma, Suraya offered to become a spy for Sharifuddin, who was determined to solve the deaths, and Sharifuddin began bringing them to Senate meetings under the guise of them being his new aide.
They caught the eye of Senator Radbourne (RatBat) who seemed to pick up the fact that they were an Outlier, but rather than bring up the matter, requested that they work with him as well on.... matters regarding his constituents with disabilities.
Sharifuddin has his reservations about Radbourne and Suraya knew they were up to no good and both agreed to the arrangement so Suraya could dig up more information about them.
As it turned out, Radbourne was dirty as dirty as politicians came, but he had nothing to do with the murders. Rather, he was mostly preoccupied with an individual named Morgan Trayton (Megatron), the same individual whom Omar Parvez (Orion Pax) a friend of Sharifuddin’s, had mentioned as a great writer.
Radbourne asked Suraya to track down Morgan with an offer the man hopefully wouldn’t refuse and Suraya, intrigued about this man with what they’d heard about him from Omar, agreed to do so.
They found Morgan in a vast underground fighting ring in Moscow, and after voicing some skepticism about him walking his written talk, he allowed them to peek into his mind to see how genuine and committed he was to his cause, and it took them aback for a bit to meet someone who despite being mired in tragedy, had Sharifuddin’s desire to make a better world and the iron will to back it up.
They pledged themself to be among the first members of Morgan’s rising revolution (which was aided by Omar spreading his writings through an underground press) and told them about Radbourne’s offer to supply weapons and augmentations to increase profits from the pitfighting racket.
Morgan agreed if only to use these exact items against the Senate once he’d acquired an army.
It was during this time with Morgan that they also met Ramsey (Rumble) and Friedel (Frenzy), a pair of dwarf miners who the man had been friends with for years, and almost immediately got along with their boisterous, gregarious natures.
They continued to be Radbourne’s liaison with Megatron until the start of the Clampdown when they watched Morgan kill the owner of the Pit, free those who wanted their freedom and take those who were loyal to him to meet with Sharifuddin to formally establish a rebellion.
It was about this time that Suraya found out that Radbourne had been conducting illegal experiments on Beast Men, something they took grave offense to, and they kept mining Radbourne for more information about where the experiments were taking place.
Upon finding out, they personally hunted down Radbourne as Stefan Scavarro (Starscream) initiated the Senate massacre to Radbourne’s labs, where he tried to fight them off only to finally find out the true extent of their abilities.
Badly-injured, his attempt at stopping them from freeing the captive Beast Men—-his “property” as he would yell at them—-ended up with him hurled into a genetic splicing pod (commissioned from a ‘Mesothulas’) which he accidentally activated.
The process twisted him into a Rat-Bat-human hybrid, and rather than kill him, Suraya decided to leave the option to the Beast Men he tortured for profit in what they saw as poetic justice.
After those who wanted vengeance were done with Radbourne, Suraya gave the Beast Men the option of leaving free or coming with them to be a part of Morgan’s revolution which would ensure that they were never mistreated and ostracized by the larger world again.
Two of the Beast Men took up the offer; Bastien Saville (Buzzsaw) and Gan Go-eun (Glit).
When Morgan, confident in Suraya’s abilities asked them to establish their own division focussed on spying and intel gathering, Suraya chose Ramiro, Lara, Ramsey, Friedel and Bastien to work alongside them.
While Suraya occasionally questions Morgan’s actions, two things they have never questioned are his dedication to his cause and the compassion he shows to those they care for, and it’s enough for them to consider themself a true Decepticon till the day his objectives are achieved.

k so tfp theory time: I saw a post somewhere that said something about how Optimus says he doesn't want even one life to be lost, but then kills so many vehicons. I have no evidence to support my theory but I think the autobots didn't kill the vehicons. I mean, it was such a big deal that Miko snuffed hardshell, and no autobots claimed to have killed a deception since coming to earth. (that I can remember...) I think vehicons are just really easy to knock out with a punch or blast. thoughts? :)
I know there are a lot of theories and thoughts from fans who have studied this show much longer than I have. But it’s interesting to analyze and theorize, so I guess I’ll could just relay my personal thoughts, even though I’m still quite new to this continuity.
From what I recall, that quote from Optimus comes from the Season 2 episode “Crossfire”, where he says “I do not condone the termination of any defenseless lifeform...”
They’ve been at this war a long time, so I think his point might be, Autobots try to stick to an honorable code of not terminating a defenseless enemy. Which foreshadows what happens later in the episode, where Optimus must choose to stick with that moral code and decide if he take the opportunity to terminate Megatron who becomes weakened and ‘defenseless’ after fighting an Insecticon, or do the honorable thing and let him go because he’s unable to fight back.
To me, I think it just serves to show another facet of the difference in morality between Autobots and Decepticons. Where Megatron and his subordinates don’t hesitate to take out a defenseless captive [RIP Cliffjumper], the Autobots...well, at least Optimus, tries to take a diplomatic approach before engaging in a fight. The other members of Team Prime seem to be more battle driven just out of the need for survival and aren’t always choosing diplomacy. Something Optimus is constantly reminding them about: the morality behind their cause. If freedom is the right of all sentient beings, then who are they to take away the life of that being?
This seems to be the standard they try to keep when dealing with the top ranked Decepticons. But the Vehicons....? I think it’s a tricky subject. It could be that the Vehicons are drones that were designed and built artificially by Shockwave. There’s evidence they are possibly clones, as we see on the Harbinger, Starscream discovers cloning protoforrms that only come to life when he implants his own energon into them. And cloning makes sense, since naturally born Cybertronians aren’t coming into existence at that time, because Cybertron is dormant and the All-Spark was sent into space.
There is an interesting youtube video by @emperor-kumquat that shed some insight into theories on if Vehicons are intelligent soldiers or mindless drones. And should they be treated better?
But in the end, the war between both sides has been going on for so long, it’s possible some moralities have been blurred for everyone, just for the fact that some have only known battle, some are tired of fighting, desperate for energon, and desperate for the war to end! This is what I find interesting about TFP, that both sides do have their strengths and weaknesses as far as reasons for continuing the war.
And as for Skyquake...obviously he was ready for a battle right out of the stasis pod. At this point, everyone thinks Megatron is gone. Optimus tried to reason with him, saying, “Is this ancient war still worth fighting when so many comrades have been lost, and worlds destroyed? Skyquake, this is a new era, on another world. Side with the Autobots and help me end this conflict forever!”
Skyquake refused and was determined to end the Autobots. Bumblebee may have been rash for taking him out the way he did. But Optimus does show regret for the outcome, and later on appeals to Dreadwing, remorseful for what happened and tries to make peace with him. But so many others have been lost...and as much as the Autobots wish to fight without killing, the Decepticons often don’t give them much choice.
These are just some of the thoughts I had. I’m sure many others have ideas and theories. To me it was a real tragedy that the war between them went on for so long...but this epic drama is probably one reason why this story has been told so many times.

Bumblebee Review
Bumblebee is a genuinely fun, kind-hearted family film and it’s very likely the best of the Transformers franchise. I still enjoy the first Transformers, didn’t like the second or third, and never bothered seeing the fourth or fifth, so I can’t be a true judge, but based on what I’ve read about the latter two I’m not planning on catching up. I also wasn’t expecting much from this film given how the franchise has gone, but I came away pleasantly surprised! Bumblebee tells a refreshingly focused and simple story about the friendship forged between the titular Autobot and Charlie Watson (Hailee Steinfeld).
Full Spoilers…
The movie starts off with a bombastic and frantic escape staged by the Autobot rebellion back on Cybertron, and while the action here (and throughout the movie) is cleanly and clearly shot—as I’ve seen noted elsewhere online, a nice change of pace from the other films in the franchise—I can’t say that I’m invested in the Autobot/Decepticon war at all. I’m all for a good ol’ “overthrow the fascist, freedom-oppressing evil empire” story, but this particular conflict just doesn’t hit the right notes for me for some reason. I don’t really know how the movies can fix that at this point (maybe more focus on showing, not telling?). Likewise, the movies haven’t made me a fan of any of the Transformer characters besides Bumblebee (Dylan O’Brien). Maybe that’s because of a lack of nostalgic recognition on my part—I’ve seen a handful of the original series episodes and the animated movie—but my main (and favorite) Transformers point of reference is the Beast Wars CGI cartoon from the 90s (Transformers Prime was also good, but didn’t stick with me in the way Beast Wars has). I think my lack of connection with most of the Transformers is also definitely due to the fact that Bee is the one who gets to bond with the humans most in the films, so I’m much more attached to him than Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) or the others. I know a lot of fans have argued that the humans take up too much focus in these films, but Charlie and Bee (and Sam and Bee in the first one) bonding goes a long way towards humanizing and endearing these aliens. Besides, even in the vast majority of the cartoons, humans played a role.
In Bumblebee, I wish Bee got a chance to show more personality before he lost his voice. B-127 is certainly noble and heroic, but that seemed to be all there was to him at first. The more sheepish, injured version of Bee displays many more volumes of character (maybe because that’s when he gets to interact with Charlie?). I don’t believe for a second that trauma or tragedy makes characters inherently deeper or more interesting/engaging than happy/heroic ones , but because of what little we see of Bee before his voice box is (horrifically) ripped out, the temporary removal of his heroic veneer does a lot to expose other aspects of his character. In any case, Bee’s arc back to his ability to communicate and to reclaim his heroic mantle is solid and his recovery story was very well-told (pairing nicely with Charlie’s own recovery from loss). I also like that this film franchise, if nothing else, has never fallen for the idea that the most popular character (Bumblebee) needs to also be the leader of the Transformers. Not only is that a unique position, but in a way it puts him on the level of the kids he most closely bonds with. They aren’t the “leaders” in their lives either (that would be their parents/authority figures).
Charlie Watson was very likable and Steinfeld did a great job carrying the human side of the movie, perfectly balancing Charlie’s urge to get out and live her life vs. her resistance to change in her family and the dark cloud hanging over her. Her being a mechanic played well with a robot alien and also formed a strong connection to her dad (Tim Martin Gleason), whose loss is the source of her turmoil. That gave her and Bee a stronger bond than Bee playing wingman to Sam in the first film. I also liked that Charlie becoming Bee’s protector, healer, and disciplinarian made for a cool twist on losing her father, instead of Bee becoming her new father figure. While there’s a certain cliché connotation to making a girl into a mother figure in media (especially when there’s only one girl), while I think their relationship forces Charlie to grow up and accept more responsibility I don’t think it goes as far as saying that being a mother is her only destiny. Knowing Bee also gets Charlie to take more chances and move forward with her life, which had come to a stop in terms of fixing her dad’s car and getting back into diving, and I thought that worked pretty well. The car metaphor (Charlie needs to literally work on and repair her feelings about her dad’s heart attack via the Corvette they were working on together) is perfect, but the diving stuff is introduced a little awkwardly. It seemed like the school bully/popular jock Tripp (Ricardo Hoyos) existed almost solely to goad Charlie into jumping off a rock at a beach day hangout. That’s fine—he was barely a presence in the movie, so he truly does solely exist to challenge/further Charlie’s journey—but that scene also being the first big instance of her reluctance to take up diving again made things feel a little off or sudden/slightly random in some way. Still, the loss of her ability to dive is a neat connection to Bee’s loss of his voice; I just wish what it meant to her was a little more fleshed-out. Tripp’s girlfriend Tina (Grace Dzienny) being a mean girl made Charlie an outsider among her peers, which was a pretty good connection to Bumblebee among the humans. I’m glad that Charlie and her neighbor Memo (Jorge Lendeborg Jr.) didn’t end up together (even if she said “not yet”). The chemistry between Charlie and Bee was much stronger than between her and Memo (even though both relationships were platonic), and she never seemed to have a glimmer of romantic interest in him. And that’s totally fine! Healthy, platonic friendships between girls and guys are something we should see more of in movies and TV. Along these same lines, it was refreshing that they didn’t film Charlie with a male gaze. Charlie’s problems with her family (Pamela Adlon, Jason Drucker) moving on with her mom’s new boyfriend (Stephen Schneider) were well-developed and fit with her inability to move on from her dad’s death, but I wish that they’d been given a bigger moment where that family coalesced into a new family unit. The moment where it happens (in the middle of a car chase) is certainly dramatic, but it also felt too quick.
The villains, both human and Decepticon, were used well. Burns (John Cena) made for a good soldier stuck in a bad situation with orders he disagreed with (he’s the only one to point out their name is a big red flag), even if he still mostly follows his orders until the end. I was very happy that the “comedy” of Section 7 from the original Transformers films was largely dropped here, as that was always one of the weaker parts of those films to me. The Decepticons (Angela Bassett, Justin Theroux, David Sobolov) were suitably evil and imposing, if one-dimensional. I don’t need all villains to have a relatable motivation (sometimes evil is just evil), but the fascistic element of the Decepticons could’ve been played up in their dialogue and interactions with Bumblebee.
The effects were well done and I liked the use of the 80s here. The Decepticons gifting the humans the internet (to use it for their own nefarious purposes) was a nice tie back to the first movie’s comment that so much of our technology was reverse-engineered from studying the All Spark and Megatron. The songs they chose were still popular and recognizable, but not necessarily the songs that almost always accompany a trip to the 80s, which was nice. There’s one cliché and overdone bashing of “Never Gonna Give You Up,” but otherwise this was a refreshing change of pace music-wise.
I really wish we could get more adventures with Charlie and Bumblebee teaming up, but they go their separate ways at the end. It feels a little like the filmmakers felt they had to wrap everything up here instead of hoping they’d get a sequel (which is not at all a bad thing!), but closed the loop to the first film a little too tightly. Maybe there’s still a way for Bee and Charlie to meet up again in the future. Either way, this was a very enjoyable flick in the “80s kids meet an alien” vein and I definitely recommend it!

Tbh please add your thoughts to this, i have no life and for sure will type out a response (I’m having withdrawals from Film Studies rn and need something to analyse LMFAO)
Honestly i think the reason i don’t like Mel in the first place is mainly her fans. Like even the hardest Silco dickriders can tell you he’s not a good person, the difference is Mel lovers act like she’s not done anything wrong when she’s literally part of the embodiment of what is wrong with Piltover.
Like yeah, we finally see some growth at the end, but at the start she’s just another greedy, out of touch councillor, who is shown to use anything at her disposal to get people to do as she wishes (uses her giving Hoskel or whatever his name is a gift for his birthday to get him to vote in line with her at that trial)
And like, the shit people dog on Silco for actually makes no fucking sense half the time
Example
“Oh yeah, when his daughter blew 6 people up and caused serious problems for all of Zaun in doing so, that he was only able to get out of because of the firelights involvement in recent shit, he yelled at her for like less than a minute before immediately forgiving her because he literally cannot hold anything against her”
Dawg
Nuance fears yall
You guys do know that no character in Arcane is definitively good or bad, because they aren’t written as characters, they’re written as people, and people aren’t definitively good or bad in every aspect of their lives. And those people fuck up, some more frequently than others, but they all have actual fleshing out that makes it incredibly difficult to legitimately hate a character in it if you actually look at them.
Silco is a product of his environment, he turned to violence be the realised topside wouldn’t listen to anything but, and he got deeply lost along the way (I’m sorry i actually can’t explain this shit without thinking of Megatron they’re actually the same bitch and i went on a half hour rant to my therapist about the tragedy of Megs character before, so all the psychoanalysing of Megs carries over great to Silco 😭), eventually becoming the corruptions he sought to absolve Zaun of in the first place.
I'm genuinely so sick of the silco hate. Yes he's a bad guy. Yes he's committed very serious crimes and is a violent person and a murder. Those are all very valid reasons to dislike a fictional character. But there are just some things people like to shit on silco for that truly aren't his fault.
Imagine if YOU were a single dad to a mentally ill teenager and at the same we're trying to manage a business, gain independence for your country, AND deal with other bullshit nonsensical problems. I'd be pissed too, I'd be stressed the fuck out too. People can't seem to push past the bad and see the truth; because all of this shit IS NOT hidden in the show it's at the forefront. Silco has a lot of shit on his plate and he has to deal with everything at the same fucking time ALONE. This guy's life is hell on the average day but during arcane? Nah my man was fighting for his life literally and figuratively.
Jinx's entire behavior can NOT be blamed on silco it genuinely cannot and it's silly to even think such a thing. I'm so sick of people trying to make him the scapegoat when it comes to her situation. "He didn't try to heal her" in the city where we know that canonically, there are no doctors? Tell me, oh wise one, where the hell silco, of all men, was going to find a therapist for his daughter and medicine for her psychosis? Like BITCH PLEASE! PLEASE! That's ridiculous.
Silco himself IS MENTALLY ILL, OF COURSE HE'S GOING TO TRY TO GIVE HER THE SAME SHITTY COPING SKILLS HE USES FOR HIMSELF! AND GENUINELY, IS HE WRONG FOR THAT? I don't believe so.
"oh he's the reason jinx was tortured-" you mean when silco held his DYING daughter in his arms and tried to save her? When he, at his old fucking age, ran all the way from the bridge to singed SINGLEHANDEDLY to get her the ONLY MEDICAL ATTENTION the undercity has? Did you truly forget that singed knocks silco out during this scene. If so, rest assured, because has silco been MENTALLY PRESENT in that scene, he would have never allowed that shit to happen. The moment he wakes up and sees that she's fucking gone and the table is bloody, he IMMEDIATELY threatens singed and asks what the fuck he did. Don't put that shit on him he had no idea.
Yes this man is a piece of shit but he's a man none the less can we cut him a fucking break PLEASE!

How would you compare bayverse!Optimus to his other versions? While I love bayverse!Optimus (his rages are a thrill for me) I don't feel as if the portrayal is fair to his character.
♞ ┊ ( ooc. )
i delayed addressing this ask because i knew it would be very long and very intense.
before i proceed i need to warn that this is MY opinion and MY assessment based on what is rather intensive research into the character across the continuities. i do feel as though i am right, but i will not deny that i may be in error. in the end this is my analysis, and i ask that it be respected as limited to myself.
I will include IDW’s Optimus very little in my response, for reasons that should become apparent as my reply is read further. (Mostly because he is not a variation most are comparing Tyran OP to)
PS: ❛ Tyran ❜ = Bayverse
Tyran (erroneously referred to as Bayverse) Optimus, in full true capacity a True Optimus Prime. I believe he is a fair and accurate portrayal of the character within the narrative he exists.
Over the years I have seen many discussions and even some condemnations of Tyran Optimus as being “too violent” and “too angry,” stating that he is excessive. When taken into consideration the enemies he has faced, the losses he has endured, and all the harm inflicted on him I do not feel hs is excessive.
To explain him and compare him to other iterations of Optimus cannot be done without comparing among the versions of the stories. In comparison to all the other continuities, including IDW, Tyran is the most violent and visceral version of the stories. Optimus is more violent than other versions of his character because he has an equal portion of excessive violence inflicted upon him.
Decepticons in his world do not just putz around trying to steal energon; they attempt to blow up our sun.
They do not just look for fragments of the AllSpark to fuel a sequel to their war, they tear apart cities.
The Decepticons do not just laugh and form unhealthy friendships with humans; they manipulate and terrorize an entire family for generation shut down the space program and do their bidding.
Decepticons in Tyran do not just want to repair a device that will regenerate their dead Cybertron, they wish to bring an entire planet into our orbit (which would have devastating consequences to our world based on the shift in the gravitational field alone) hold the entirety of Earth hostage and use the human race for slave labor.
THE HUMANS of Tyran are more likely to betray the Cybertronians. Those humans who hate the Transformers hate them with a vitriol that is far more realistic than would be shown in any of the animated series. The humans HUNT Transformers, melt them for scrap metal, try to reprogram their DNA. Anyone known to be a friend of the Transformers live with the constant threat of being killed. This threat is not a bluff: based off TLK we can safely assume that Sam Witwicky is dead.
The Transformers, as a species, in Tyran are not warm and cuddly. They joke around, but it is not kid-friendly. They are all violent—all of them. It is in their nature, and that is part of their culture and their very nature.
Where do i get this claim from? Please refer to the instances we see hatchlings that are not the Dinobots. The AllSpark is not inherently evil, but anything brought to life by its power immediately fights and begin destruction. It could be argued that this is because our modern day technology is based off the study of Megatron, but I would not agree that dismisses my assertion. In addition to the hatchlings and new sparks we see in the movies, the comics depict the hatchlings little else. There is a scene in the comics where Megatron lays a trap to kill Optimus by leading him to a nest of hatchlings—the hatchlings act pretty much like TFP’s scraplets. There is also the consistency of each and every Transformer reacts quickly with more with more aggressive than we could typically tolerate.
Transformers are exponentially harder to kill than a human; they have an exoskeleton made of regenerative metal and built in weaponry, they can shift and adjust themselves to survive in situations that would leave humans critically injured or even killed. To the Tyran Transformers a greater degree of violence than we consider acceptable appears to be nothing but rough housing for them. Thus, when they do fight—it will be far more aggressive.
It is my opinion that segments of the fandom are unfairly harsh on Tyran Optimus, criticizing him for fitting into the story he is written into. Their fast-past conflicts are resolved with brutality unmatched by their previous versions. They make TFP && TFA look like child’s play, but that is because IT IS child’s play; those shows are written for younger audiences. As the movies progress they get more mature, until we get the last two movies which are removed almost all jokes geared towards teenage boys, less women are objected for hormone rampaged teenagers, and the jokes are more cerebral. The story is the same way; it has progressed in its severity.
Optimus Prime has also endured tragedy in Tyran than the other versions come little close to experiencing—the only one would be TFP, and arguably IDW who is written exclusively for adults. G1 and TFA cannot hold a candle to the beastial cruelty in Tyran; they are just too immature when compared. He has been hunted, TRULY hunted, treated like an animal to slaughter. The human population supports the extermination of the Transformer species on their planet. They do so with their benefit, stripping them of their LIVING metal, disregarding the sentience, and retrofitting their biology into our technology.
To me there is nothing thrilling about Tyran Optimus’ rage; he is SUFFERING from the betrayal and loss inflicted upon him. His reactions to Cade in the start of AOE are clear indicators of PTSD. He is on the defense from insurmountable forces—a species he && his Autobots gave his life for to protect!! Of course he is filled with rage—because he has been hurt so excessively by everyone.
Optimus Prime is my favorite character, no one would be surprised by that. I have dedicated the four years since I’ve become an invested fan in this franchise to studying him, to learning about him, to put myself in his situations and try to feel empathy for what Optimus is written in.
Tyran Optimus is, out of all the rest, the most brutalized and tortured of all the Optimi. I do not feel he deserves the accusations he is somehow less than. In AOE he once swore, in a fit of anger, that he would kill all those who were involved in the death of the Autobots. This was such a disturbing dichotomy to how he felt when he arrived on Earth; in the beginning he was so concerned with protecting humans he did not fight them when Bumblebee was captured. This declaration disturbed many, including his voice actor who struggled to perform the line, and I can understand why—it startled me when I first saw the movie. HOWEVER, in AOE when he was given his chance to fulfill his swore—he didn’t, not even when Joshua Joyce DARED him to do it. Optimus had every opportunity and he STILL did not keep his word and kill the humans that were responsible for Ratchet’s death. Why did he not? Because it was just something he said in distress; he was angry, he was hurting, he was overwhelmed by what was done to his people after all they sacrificed for the human race. He still did not go on a rampage and kill. THAT is what measures him as an equal in comparison to the other versions of the character.
Cade Yeager barely had to try to inspire forgiveness in Optimus. With all done to him, Optimus had every right to be frustrated, hurt, and angry at the human race. OK, Megatron had done the same. But the humans? He loved us how he loves Bumblebee. Imagine if you will how Optimus would react if Bumblebee betrayed him so. It wasn’t until Agent Savoy became a clear and present threat to Cade that Optimus stepped in.
The measure of him comes out when consequences is put into action. Tyran Optimus is a product of his story, of his universe, of the dynamics between him and the other characters. He has been traumatized repeatedly, devastatingly, and seemingly unrelentlessly.
In the end, I cannot force anyone to consider my points of defense for Tyran Optimus, other than to lay out what I know and how I feel about the assessment. Take of it what you may, but Optimus from the movies will remain one of my most beloved versions of the character. He is visceral, victimized, battered, and still brave, kind, and forgiving. He just isn’t with a laugh or perfect composure. He is just as much Optimus Prime as any of the others, he just the Optimus Prime of a world gone wrong.
Optimus Prime in the movies is a messiah carrying a cross through a mob, he wears his crown of thorns and there is blood in his eyes. He is still carrying that cross, he is still marching up towards that hill. He is STILL a savior.
I will also defend him because he is a victim of PTSD.

12 Worst Motion pictures of 2017, From ‘The Emoji Film’ to ‘Baywatch’ (Photographs)
How nice was 2017 for motion pictures? Adam Sandler starred in a film that made it to my Finest Listing. How awful was 2017 for motion pictures? I needed to cram a dozen titles right into a 10 Worst roster.
10. “Conflict Machine” This may-be satire presumably had one thing to say in regards to the scorching mess that’s the Conflict on Terror, however between Brad Pitt’s never-not-pulling-a-face efficiency and the screenplay’s heavy-handed and excessively narrated makes an attempt at political perception, the outcomes have been an unfunny mess that wasted a stellar forged.
9. “House Once more” Reese Witherspoon was the queen of the small display screen this 12 months with “Large Little Lies,” however her cinematic outing within the directorial debut of Hallie Meyers-Shyer (whose solely obvious qualification for the gig was being the offspring of two filmmakers) left her stranded in a cutesy and lethal boring story of a newly separated mother falling for a brash younger would-be director.
8. “CHIPS” and “Baywatch” The “Leap Avenue” motion pictures made mining comedy out of a horrible previous cop present look really easy that we obtained caught with these two depressing failures that lacked laughs and a perspective. The funniest factor about “Baywatch” was when the producers tried in charge Rotten Tomatoes for the movie’s embarrassing opening-weekend numbers.
7. “The Final Face” The highway to hell has hardly ever been paved with such good intentions; director Sean Penn forged Charlize Theron and Javier Bardem as super-photogenic docs falling in love and saving lives in African battle zones, however the dialogue was so vapid and over-ripe that audiences giggled uncomfortably once they weren’t averting their eyes from grotesque battle footage.
6. “Pal Request” A teen witch torments a well-liked younger school woman through social media within the form of film the place we’re presupposed to be struck by the tragedy of the heroine’s Fb good friend spiraling downward to zero. Your consideration will go on the same trajectory. It is the form of horror film the place the comedian aid is not humorous, however nearly every part else is.
5. “Transformers: The Final Knight” The makers of “King Arthur” ought to have despatched a muffin basket to the “Final Knight” crew for making this newest giant-robot saga the 12 months’s dumbest film partially set at Camelot. In any other case, the one purpose for this movie to exist is in order that we will lastly hear Sir Anthony Hopkins summon his many years of theatrical coaching to pronounce the phrase “Megatron.”
4. “The House Between Us” and “The Solely Dwelling Boy in New York” If solely 2016’s dreadful “Collateral Magnificence” had come out just a few weeks later, screenwriter Allan Loeb may have scored a trifecta of mawkish dramas about delicate boy-men who study to like (and audiences who’re shocked, shocked to study in Act three that Character A and Character B have been secretly associated all alongside).
3. “The Emoji Film” There’s nothing inherently flawed with the thought of taking these faces in your cellphone and constructing a film round them, however you’d really need to make them into characters and provides them a plot that mattered in case you did not wish to wind up with this dreary and inane kiddie journey that is much less fascinating than 90 minutes of watching another person play Sweet Crush Saga.
2. “The Project” Motion legend Walter Hill turns gender-confirmation surgical procedure into the stuff of leering exploitation on this seamy story of a hitman given a girl’s physique towards his will. Even when the remedy of trans points weren’t so repellent, this cheapie was poorly shot and clumsily edited, with actors like Michelle Rodriguez and Sigourney Weaver doing their very worst.
1. “The Ebook of Henry” Imagine the hype: Colin Trevorrow’s one-for-me follow-up to “Jurassic World” was the form of embarrassment that made bad-movie lovers run to the theater. Henry dies halfway via the film — belief me, it isn’t a spoiler, it is a promoting level — however nonetheless leaves actually express directions for his flighty mother to homicide their abusive neighbor, the police commissioner. If James Franco needs to make a “Catastrophe Artist” sequel, he may begin right here.
Now remember to take a look at Alonso Duralde’s picks for the very best motion pictures of the 12 months.

Focus. You will not have another chance. He told himself. Hosin slithered on and touched whatever he could, pain and horror wracking his form and overtaking him beyond anything he could have imagined. Not even the war had prepared him for this. He remembered the faces of the others; that gawky, charismatic smile of Rodimus, the way that Starscream scowled down at him, the kindhearted laughter of Cherrybomb as they swapped stories, the jittery genius of Pharma, even the stoic mystery of Megatron hit him where he needed it most. The heat hurt as he caught himself on prickly thorns, but nothing hurt worse than imagining them overtaken. They had taken him in, it was only fair that he take this monster out. He heard it, soft and sickly, ruined to the core and hanging on for a shred of life. Focus. Focus on that shred. Nothing else mattered as he lurched forward, surveying the damage in a split second and feeling his hope leak away like his latex. Things were...worse than he thought. Minimus was a shell of who he once was, ravaged by violence not of this world and plagued through and through by shards unseen. For the first time since the fight, Hosin faltered. He faltered and felt himself slip in focus, gasping when he attempted to reignite it and caught his form just in time. He didn't have time to fight with his morals, with ethics, with anything he'd studied from a textbook, for...for war wasn't from a textbook. War was filthy. War was crass. War was wrought with tragedy and heartbreak. And in this moment, Hosin remembered why he left it all behind. He'd made his decision. Minimus deserved mercy. He deserved to fall at the hands of someone he cared for, rather than a pathetic parasite piloting him as a puppet. Hosin folded forward and slipped around tendrils and plucked at spikes, smothering his friend, the one he wanted to be his partner, in as much silvery latex as he could. He was sure it was painful, he could feel it in the way Minimus was contorted to fit such a strained form. But...it had to be done. It simply had to be done. The former Emperor took a deep breath and tugged with a war cry, frustrated when Minimus didn't budge and openly sobbing through his frustration as he heaved again. He desperately tugged and ripped at spikes of metal, battling the heat as he lurched and twisted his friend free. "I am so...s-so SORRY! I AM SO SORRY, MINIMUS!" He cried as he yanked again, throwing all of his archaic strength into the process. "I-I do not know...if you can hear me- B-But I would have really liked to have been something with you...!" Hosin gave a final tug and felt things shift, careening back and throwing out a protective bubble as they hit the back of the parasite's vicious teeth, squeezing his eyes shut and horrified to assess the damage when his failsafe hit the floor. Had...had they made it? Had they done it?!
Hosin leaves the bath behind and furrows his brow. He attempts his comms again. "Hello? Magnus? You are not picking up...are you alright? Are you still feeling ill? Please, if you find the time, call me back to let me know you are alright." There is concern in his voice.
There's more static, just as before, a tad louder this time. Once again, if the comm links are switched, the radio chatter is normal, voices clear as day. But as the comm link is switched back, there is the white noise now that screeches into Hosin's ears, piercing and loud, but in the midst of the screech there is a voice, cold, deep, a voice garbled amongst the white noise speaks to him now.

Seeing the extent to which Ratchet was affected by his injury, Optimus’s field filled with concern. How could he have let himself get so carried away as to drag him into this place? Still, perhaps he would be safer here while he recovered… There were no Decepticons to attack him, only Micronus’s many trials.
He adjusted his grip to try to better support him before answering his question, disregarding its intent to be rhetorical. “I appreciate your confidence and support, Ratchet. It is true that I have experienced a lot; however, while we survived and were victorious in the end, my abilities were rarely enough to prevent tragedies along the way. I could have done better. While Micronus has not offered me many details, he believes that the threat to come will be one of our most serious ones yet, and I have no desire to take risks. I have agreed to partake in this training.”
Micronus floated above them as they had their exchange, deep frown turning into a half smile as Optimus continued his explanation. “Good, Optimus,” he said once he’d finished. The compliment was almost genuine, but a hint of condescension entered his tone as he continued, “I’m glad you appreciate at least some level of this task’s importance. Now, are you interested in getting back to it? Time is already short; you don’t need to be wasting it.” His frown returned, optics narrowing at the two of them.
Optimus repressed a sigh, weariness evident in his field only to those who knew him well. “I know, Micronus. Give me just a moment.” Ratchet was still here, and he wasn’t going to just drop him.

The individual continued to float freely, judging the Last Prime in addition to his partner, and Undertone decided that, perhaps, this was still a dream. It must have been. Their environment was like none he had witnessed except in dreams, floating for a non-flyer was not realistic, and one of these persons was supposed to be offline.
The minicon returned to Ratchet’s forearm, folded once again, and hoped to wake up soon. Ratchet was distracted momentarily by his re-attachment, but refocused as soon as Optimus began to speak. His frown deepened as his friend informed him of something worse, although what could have been worse than dealing with Unicron and Megatron, Ratchet could not imagine. It led to more concerns, more questions than he already had, and only Micronus’ commentary prevented him from asking several.
His optics narrowed right back. Ratchet did not care for the condescending hints in the least, and he strongly considered chewing the other out, whoever he was. But, Optimus remained his first priority (and he physically was not in any condition to challenge someone purposefully, nor would that have been easy to accomplish while being held). Ratchet decided that simply ignoring the arrogant little floater would be spiteful enough for the time being.
His expression softened as he looked at his old friend again, studying him silently for a few moments, before he spoke, “... I admit I have very little idea hwat has happened or will happen, but I can see you are already dedicated to this.” Enough to wearily tolerate this Micronus fellow. “My many questions will wait.”
Ratchet lightly tapped the Prime’s chassis with his digits as he then stated, “However, you still need to rest occasionally, and that is my professional opinion on the matter.” Although that was the extent of his verbal comments, his field mingled with Optimus’, expressing that he had missed him, cared and worried for him, and hoped that he would listen for Ratchet’s sake, even if not his selfless own.
