As no single Zelda was specified, I'll answer for Charlie, Lucien, and Ezra with their respective Zelda's (and to clarify, this will be for Skyward Sword, Breath of the Wild/Age of Calamity, and Minish Cap respectfully)!

✨Charlie never meets Zelda, but it's possible the pair would have got on fairly well! In a few instances I have imagined what it would be like if Charlie and Zelda interacted, Charlie would be sympathetic to her plight, and absolutely rip Ghirahim apart for trying to catch her and use her to resurrect Demise. Arguably, the stuff he goes through in my self fic is less painful than Charlie finding out he was trying to kill two teenagers LMAO

✨In contrast, Lucien does meet Zelda and is aggressively protective of her. Initially, Zelda does assume Lucien wants to hurt her as Lucien does have a well-known reputation for being a highwayman who has no issues with killing people (plus, whilst it's not known Lucien has connections to the Yiga Clan, people are aware they're pals with Eldoris).

But, once the two get talking, Lucien finds out about her life and struggles, especially with her father. So Lucien, being Lucien, decides to take matters into their own hands and beat the everloving shit out of Rhoam, only stopping when Zelda herself demands it.

✨As for Ezra, they would deliberately be the most annoying person to Zelda, but in more subtle ways than bombastic, like pretending to not hear what Zelda is saying or doing the opposite of what she asks. Naturally, the two wouldn't spend a lot of time together when Zelda is away from the castle.

HOWEVER, the very second Ezra finds out guards or anyone with orders given by Hyrule Castle have been tasked with apprehending or worse, killing Vaati, Ezra will be on their asses in seconds for even daring to entertain the idea of harming their twin. They don't fight often but also they don't take prisoners and Ezra knows who will be coming out of the fight alive.

My 2023 Fanfic-Wrapped

I only really started reading Pedro fanfic in April or May, I got started on some of the well-known fics on AO3 that were recommended on tiktok. However, one of them brought me to tumblr (because I wanted to see more from this author, I wanted to see their moodboards and their sneak peeks). And I haven’t left since.

I even decided to try my hand at writing as well. It’s been a LOT of fun. (My masterlist is here if you want to see all the weird shit I wrote so far). Thank you to everyone who has supported me in all my efforts and to all the friends I've made.

I wanted to create this list to highlight some of my faves this year. If you haven’t read these, they all come highly recommended by me.

Faeted (series) (251K; Rated G/T) by @ineffably-good

Human/Fae AU. I was absolutely entranced by this series from page one. I haven't been as excited to dive into the next book (and as equally sad when it ended) since I read #RAINBOWROAD. It has a wonderful cast of side characters (Hastur and Ligur are standouts, and for once aren't villains), beautiful world-building, and Ezra manages to hold his own in a realm that's extremely dangerous for a human.

There are four stories (3 novels and a one-shot set after book 2). Crowley, being the fae lord of the Unseelie court, is more capricious than canon Crowley (necessary to hold his reign), but he's kind and loving toward Ezra, and he's willing to change and grow. This one is going on my best-of list for sure, and I'm already thinking of re-reading it. I just want to live in this world for as long as possible.

Ezra Fell is an English professor at a prestigious academy for boys. Crowley is the lord of the Unseelie court in the lands without sunrise or moonfall. Somehow fate will bring them together.

My VN List!

I'm listing them according to ones I've played and ones I plan to play (as well as brief notes about either my opinion on the game or why I'm interested in them, formatted like this.)

This is for my own personal collection tbh, I just need to put them all in one place.

A. Have played:

The Arcana. Played since I was 16, all time favourite and Julian is my husband. This game shaped my interest for fantasy settings and magic. BUT! As a long time fan I must warn new players that trying to get the full experience for this game is difficult because of its coin system. The only reason I manage to keep playing for years is because I literally take a year's worth of breaks in between routes and logged in every. Single. Day. to collect coins and keys. It's literally been 6 years and I still haven't 100% the game yet cause I simply didn't have that kind of energy and time to do that anymore, but I still love the characters very deeply till now.

Blooming Panic. Second all time fave. Fell for Quest first, fell for Toasty hardest, for some reason is obsessed with xyx. I've revolved my entire personality around BP since 2023.

ERROR 143. Fun! Micah is technically not my type but I really like the general aesthetic and humor of the game. Iirc there are still more content to come to the game so I am very excitedly and patiently waiting.

3 Seasons. This was short and sweet. I think what I liked the most about this was the unique character designs, especially Rye and Briar's. I heard the dev's are working on more content on the current LI's + Briar's route, I'm really excited for those.

Our Life: Beginning & Always. Our life was INCREDIBLE, to put it simply. The entire game and story was very well thought out that it even made me reflect on my own life at each phase along the game. It gave me a really strong sense of nostalgia and reminded me of my own feelings during every change I had experienced. I actually wanted to make a whole post about OLBA but I got busy and already forgot everything I wanted to say, ehe. I still have to play the DLC and get the remaining locked CGs though.

Assignment Due: Project Blue. THIS GAME IS ADORABLE. I already made a blog post about what I like about it and I will again emphasis on how this game felt like it was made specifically for me. I love Asher so much aaaaa. I heard rei, the dev is working on another game for Eden, I'm looking forward for that, too.

Coffee Talk. Coffee talk was so so good! I need to play more non-romance VNs too cause this was so enjoyable in terms of its storytelling, setting, gameplay and design. Every character had such a nice story that tied up nicely, even the MC who's supposed to be just an observer throughout the entire thing. Also the cozy vibes and music is a 10/10 would recommend.

A Date with Death. This one's so cute too! I played only one route last year and just picked it up again recently. I have only one route left to finish and the new DLC!. Anyways yes the Grim Reaper is very babygirl I can attest to it.

seekL. THIS IS SO GOOD. SO SO GOOD. If you didn't see the one week phase where I basically went insanely obsessed with seekL, you missed out. Hacker man save me.. save me.. hackerman..

B. Want to play:

Lost in Limbo. Really pretty art and interesting concept. The theme seems very fantasy/magic centric which really pulls me in. But this game is still a WIP iirc

When The Night Comes. Technically I'm currently playing this one, but only the intro and hadn't touched the game in months cause I've been busy. Again, the fantasy setting caught my interest aaand I just met Ezra but I already love him. Will continue this as soon as I can!

Infinite Blue. I've played the demo! Very mysmes reminiscent lol. The game looked very cute so far and Brooklyn reminded me that I'll never run away from my old man liker allegations. It's already out so I def gotta play it soon.

Coffee Talk Episode 2. Don't really need an explanation for this one except that the new characters I've seen so far looks really cool.

Tavern Talk. D&D inspired Coffee Talk! If it's not obvious already, I LOVE fantasy settings so even though I've never played D&D, it is right up my alley and I wish I could play it someday. I've been eyeing the production of this game for a while so I'm really excited that it's finally out!

Obscura. This one looks really REALLY cool but I haven't actually read into what it's actually about. The art alone looks good enough to get my attention. Really curious about it, I hope I'll play it soon.

Intertwine. Just from looking at the 2023 Otome Jam entries overall I thought this one looked most visually appealing to me. I love the color scheme, and the aesthetic reminds of the string of fate myth (that probably is the theme)

DATA BR<3ACH. I'm usually not a fan of cyberpunk setting but this one seemed pretty intriguing to me visually!

Innerlog. By Jenny V Pham! I enjoyed Error 143 so I have no doubt I'll enjoy this one too.

Andromeda Six. My impression of this one is "space D&D" lol. I can't believe I haven't played this one yet.

TOUCHSTARVED. I can NOT believe only the demo is out cause the quality looks like it should've been a long existing popular franchise. One thing I'm a little hesitant about playing this game is because it's goth themed and in case you haven't noticed, a lot of the media I like have a softer, more pastel aesthetic. lol. But that's a personal preference and yet I definitely need to play it sometime soon.

Cupid's Chatroom. There's really not much to say. Pink aesthetic? Mysterious chatsim that appeared out of nowhere? My cup of tea 100%

Na Daoine Maithe. I've played the demo of this one and it is sooo interesting. I like myths but I've never really read into Gaelic ones. The art is so pretty and the story so far is very intriguing. I can't wait for the full game.

Swiped!: Double Shots of Love. FINALLY AN INDIE VN WITH OLDER MALE LOVE INTERESTS DFKJFDSJKD I played the demo, it was really really cute! The professor LI was made to call me out lol

Wake Me Up If You Need Me. A game made by rice! Someone who I've seen around in the fandom and who's really talented at making songs and audios. I had no idea they made a game but I just found it recently and I have to play it.

Keyframes. It looks really good but I'm interested mostly cause I found out Charlatean (Toasty's VA) is in this kjsdhfgkjd

Rekindle. I follow the lovely artist that's creating it and the DEMO IS OUT!. I saw one (1) art of Jules and he is EXACTLY my type so I'm already looking forward to this game.

Our Life: Now & Forever. Baxter's OL game! I already loved Cove's so I'm really really interested in this version of the game. Plus, I actually really like the autumn aesthetic compared to Cove's beachy style.

Hummingbird's Crown. Has a very interesting premise: a time loop mystery. I'm definitely interested in this one for its story potential rather than the romance, I love me a good mystery.

There's actually a few more that I added in my twitter bookmarks but those are relatively new and I haven't decided if I really want to play them yet. I'm following the devs though so that interest might grow over time. These lists are long enough as they are already, haha.

“I’m just saying, Mr. Lyles has no concept of the subject he’s supposed to be teaching,” Ezra says with a large wave on the air. Eden just snorts, her thumbs under her backpack straps. “If we’re supposed to pass this exam, we need to actually be taught the material! This is the third time he’s ranted about how his wife hates him, no one cares!”

“Well, to be far the other students are feeding into his delusions,” Eden points out, her dark eyebrows raised. “If I hear Connor or David talk about how they totally understand what Mr. Lyles is going through one more time I’ll throw up. I’m so serious.”

Ezra huffs a laugh, and bumps his shoulder with his twin’s. “At least we know they’ll fail for sure,” He says. “But we might get good scores.”

“I miss busy work, those are always easy A’s for me,” Eden mutters, reaching a hand to adjust one of her hair buns. “Our books are good sources, right? So if we study using only those we’ll be fine.”

They turn a corner and Ezra pulls out his phone. “Dad says I need to get by four if I want to do an internship today,” He notes drily.

Eden checks the time over his shoulder. “We have plenty of time,” She replies with a warm smile. “Just don’t destroy another file of work and Dad will keep letting you in his company.”

Ezra lets out a betrayed squawk of indignation. “It was one time like, a year ago!” He exclaims, throwing his arms up. Eden giggles and he slaps her shoulders, pouting playfully at himself. “I should push you into running traffic.”

“But you’d die too,” Eden says with a grin, earning a confused look from her brother. She makes witch fingers at him. “Twin magic works again, Ezzy!”

Ezra rolls his eyes, then catches sight of something over Eden’s shoulder. He frowns in suspicion, before blinking as surprise barely has time to filter across his face, and soon his eyes are flutter. He staggers, causing Eden to start asking if her was okay, before the boy collapses against the sidewalk. Eden screams, kneeling down next to him and shaking his shoulder.

“Ezra? Ezra, wake up!” Eden cries out, opening her phone and scrolling through his contacts. “Don’t worry, I’m going to call someone!”

She called their mom, and it immediately went to voicemail. But before she could hang up and try again, someone spoke right in her ear. “Drop the phone.” And she did. It clattered to the ground, Eden frozen in a kneeling position with her arm still out like she was holding it, her eyes wide and staring in the distance, mouth agape.

A girl her age sat in front of her, grinning sharp teeth. “Who are you?” Eden questions, her voice shaky. She couldn’t move her body.

“Your new favorite person,” The girl coos, still grinning, moving to grab Ezra by his arm.

“No! Don’t touch him!” Eden cries out, lunging forward and pushing the girl away, shielding her brother’s body with hers. A car drove by, making Eden grit her teeth, eyes wide with fear.

The girl cups Eden’s face with both hands, turning her head to look at her. “Don’t fight me,” She murmurs, causing Eden to stifle a gasp as her eyes widened more. “We’re going to go home and you’re going to be my new thrall. How does that sound?”

What the actual fuck is she talking about? Eden thought. “No, who are you?” She exclaims, moving to pull her face from the girl’s hands.

But nails dug into her skin and she froze, the girl’s eyes flashing red. “Relax,” She murmurs, eyes abnormally wide and red. “You want to follow me, and you want to listen to me forever.”

Eden felt her body relax, eyes glazing over. A delirious little smile spreads over her face. “R..right..” She mumbles. “For… forever..”

She giggles sleepily and the girl nods, gently pulling the backpack from Eden’s body. She does the same to Ezra, leaving the two bags on the sidewalk as she grabs Ezra and heaves him over her shoulder using one arm. Then she links her other arm with Eden’s and starts walking into an alleyway, Eden stumbling next to her. “Oh you’ll just love my mansion,” The red-eyed girl gushes, her teeth sharp and eyes glittering. “You’ll have all the toys you’ll ever want, and all the food you’d need.”

“That’s.. ni..nice..” Eden mumbles. Ezra was completely knocked out over the girl’s shoulder, eyes shut and body limp.

“And I’ll get to bathe and dress you up like my own life sized dolls!” The girl continues giddily. “Isn’t that just so nice?” Eden dumbly nods, unsure what she was agreeing too. “My name’s Miss Lara.”

That sends a cold wave over Eden’s body, causing her brow to furrow. But one glance from the ruby eyed girl and a wave of pleasure replaced it, making Eden sigh dazedly. She was sure wherever Miss Lara was bringing them would be amazing.

And if someone started yelling Eden and Ezra’s names from the sidewalk an hour later, finding the abandoned bags and phone, the twins were too far away and far too delirious to hear.

This ones a decent length. 10 chapters, about 50 thousand words. There are a lot of sweet moments, but also a lot of emotional scenes, particularly toward the end. Abominations of the Mythos run on a different metaphysics to Biblical entities; they have partial immunity to things that would obliterate an average angel or demon. So even Heaven will recruit one sometimes, after centuries of vetting. But there’s no changing what you are, and sometimes, that gets H’zr aph’aal down. It’s all very well for H'aaztre, now a Duke of Hell. Hell doesn’t mind a bit of ooze.

Who would be the "Protagonists" if this becomes an actual story-thingy? Is there an "Edda and Aven" equivalent of a Purple and yellow starfolks?

Oh! How about some more silly ideas for this that you have?

In my mind, the protagonists are the same, but the enemies are more varied.

There could very easily be a purple/yellow pair that runs counterpart to Edda and Aven. They might be antagonistic, or they might be friendly or slightly neutral. I suspect they start out vaguely antagonistic towards our Duo in the "stay out of our way/stay away from us" manner, if not the "I would like to fight you" aspect.

Either way, the Yellow star is the one who's mostly running, meanwhile the Purple star is chasing. They...probably come to terms a bit later than Edda and Aven, especially given Purple's propensity for chucking water at Yellow.....

One thing that would be...interesting is if there's a little bit of dissonance between the two transcendent types and their opposite un-transcended colors - i.e. there's some flak between Red, and Blue and Orange; Green, and Purple and Yellow. Not necessarily hostility, but a dissonance in magic, to the point where the Purple and Yellow protagonists couldn't really manage to fight or absorb a Green opponent, and Edda and Aven likewise can't really do much against a Red opponent.

It would also, in my mind, be absolutely hilarious if there's a counterpart of sorts to Summum, and with whom Summum has... not beef, but they don't exactly mesh too well, and Summum (and the other one too, really) is very frustrated because by all accounts their cooperation might be their ticket to beating TOFA, and they just don't mesh very well.... Eden and their counterpart are the actual ticket, and their progress sorta... helps Summum and counterpart start getting along as well. Mutual interest and all that. This is rapidly turning into a mirror world situation.

If we assume there's some flipside protagonists, then I think the whole arc stretches out a bit farther as both pairs reach their transcendence - Eden and then... we'll say Akra for now, constituents being Akki (Purple) and Ezra (Yellow). Once they both achieve that, then they have a whole arc of trying to get used to each other, with the end goal of merging into... whatever comes next. They don't know what comes after that. What actually happens is one of two things:

A Black Star: An entity of unclear...well, everything, with no polarity and that appears to “glow” darkness. Black Stars can access all magic of their components, plus a void magic of sorts. A magic of nonexistence. A Black Star, while a fusion of transcendence, retains all of the individual's that comprise it, and can disassemble as desired.

A White Star: Likewise lacking polarity, White Stars are the alternative but rarer result to green and red absorption, wherein all entities fuse completely into one being. They cannot separate after this, because there is no more "they."

White Stars are the indirect predecessors to a Black or White Hole - if they so choose, they can allow their energy to begin expanding and spreading into supernova conditions, until they eventually collapse inward into either a Black Hole or a White hole. Black Holes are the significantly higher probability. This has not occurred before, so the Starfolk don't know this information. TOFA also isn't aware of this mechanic.

...And yes, TOFA gets eaten by a Black Hole in this AU.

He's Dee's little brother, but due to Dee's complicated birth he inherited a part of her layer core/DNA which is what happens when a 2nd gen is born. Because of that Eden has all perks of a second gen; these being:
