you def saw the outrage on twt after this one contestant chanelle got eliminated. she was easily one of the most talented ones there but she was constantly criticised by the judges and also had to watch as they swept the other contestants mistakes under the rug, which pushed her past her breaking point. we spent weeks watching her confidence shrink as she got gaslit by the judges. and atp we know k-fans vote for visuals and i-fans vote for talent, so i-fans were able to keep her in bcs she deserved to be there but none of that mattered as judges gave her low scores

at one point she stood up for herself and fought for what she wanted. she didn’t get it but since then it was like the judges were critical out of spite. in the end they just made shit up so she would get eliminated. they let other contestants get away with being mediocre but bcs chanelle “sang offkey for the first time” she should be sent home. i’ve watched the performance multiple times atp and i’d love someone to point out where exactly she was offkey. it’s a mystery to me

anw, i hope she pulls a yunjin and ends up debuting in a very successful group

honestly i just don’t follow that side so i haven’t seen anything about her, but i just quickly scrolled on twt through some videos of her and it seems to me that she did very well in basically everything ? weird how they eliminated her, i think she would have been a stan attractor 🤷🏻‍♀️ survival shows are nice in theory bcs theoretically u end with members the public wants and that are already known/famous, but the support of the audience of those shows is very fickle and doesn’t guarantee success + survival shows are a lot of pressure and create unnecessary competition between members, i really don’t like it

I don't really know, but I don't think they used this strategy for the other SM's bgs. On the contrary, they pushed relevant/popular members' activities till the last. I may be wrong tho, since I'm not an SM's groups stan.

So, if this time they're really keeping Tae aside, is it because Nct has a different concept than the previous bgs? And the sudden lack of Tae would damage the whole brand?

Or is it because, and this is pure speculation, Tae doesn't have intention to renew the contract in 2023? We can't rely on members' words about their loyalty to the group, most of the time they're strategical, we already know that.

Implying that Tae doesn't want to renew his contract doesn't mean he doesn't love his group and his members. There are tons of different matters involved in a contract, very important as well (writing this not for you but for whoever comes across this ask).

I have no doubt Tae will renew his contract. He, Do (+Jae by association), Hyuk will stay in SM. Kun seems to like it here too. Taeil is lazy to change paths, so high chances he will stay too. Ten is LSM's favourite, so it's in Ten's best interest to continue with SM for now.

Fans like to talk how neos will be better off without SM, but it's not so. The Chinese idols can make it back home as solo celebrities, maybe. The company has money for composers/song-writers, it buys songs in hundreds, you can choose (like BoA does). Connections and influence, both at home and abroad.

I'm not that familiar with SM's history, so I can be wrong, but I haven't heard of an example of an artist leaving and doing much better. Except those who decided to stop being idols/singers and opened a business or turned to acting.

I'm pretty sure that after all the problems LSM faced he is testing new idols for loyalty now as well. Look at the t7s lineup. All 5 are the most hard-working and most loyal. Ten waited for several years and learnt two languages, MarkTae are in many groups and are the most overworked, Doyoung is everywhere representing. Jaehyun also works without complaints and improves all the time.

OK, back to Tae.

First of all, he himself said he wants the spotlight on others. He gets hate, he gets a lot of hate for holding so many positions. I can see how it can relieve him to step aside for a little bit or partially.

Secondly, the concept. Taeyong got injured during NCT2020 and had to be replaced by other neos. It can happen again. But more importantly, because of the system NCT, or rather NCT 127 members, can in theory continue without a hiatus.

Taeyong was always the centre, the main fan attractor. Taeyong being absent on the title track is a shock. It was totally unexpected. He was on all U songs in Empathy, except for "Timeless". He is the face and the leader afterall. Fans (and maybe neos) need to see that even without Taeyong NCT127 is still NCT.

Mark got the central part for NCT2020 Resonance, and it didn't sit well with me, heh. "But, but Taeyong is the leader!", lol. It's just strange to see Taeyong flanking Mark or Jaehyun. I can say that Doyoung is the real boss all I want, but for the lore, for the essence and the concept of NCT, it's Taeyong the Dragon.

So yeah. I can see how it can benefit to ease people to the idea of Taeyong being absent, and NCT not changing fundamentally despite it.

PLS BOI. I WANNA C U AS cENTER. nOOOOOOT enough screentime for my heart. i need more woojin gifs.

lee daehwi - he suffered so much nOT to debut. similar case to jihoon... he needs to lowkey his greed but the evil editting is what killed him. his words are chopped off and put in v wrong context. I think mnet is trying to cut off the amount of brand new trainees in the group. or drama. or both. he’s younger than me and talented and sPEAKS ENGLISH so he needs to debut... but srsly he’s the kid who aDMITTED that he’s ugly and that everyone hates him but pLEADS for the viewers to not swear at him. this just hits me in the heart like are all heartless bitches with no brains or wut??? plus he’s been so quiet these past few episodes to show that he’s been reflecting... that just killed me twice.

bae jinyoung - i wanna ship him w everyone and see his growth. i love him tbh he’s 2nd in my heart (after woojin). he and woojin together would make a cute bunch of pups. his vocal tone is nice but he needs to work on dancing + confidence + vocal technique. he seems sociable and a kind person. i wish that he’ll gain more skill by the end of the show so that he can rise with pride and show that he’s not just a pretty face <3 MORE SCREENTIME PLS. 

kim donghan - his dance!!!! but needs more vocal training ;w;+he’s up there on my list... he’s a bit buried and for the little as fuck screentime he has it’s nice seeing him bARELY making the cutline. he’s so smooth and slick and seems like a bubbly person off stage like from the little shots of him and whatever. i need to know more about him to get me 100% sold he’s currently around 72% sold in my heart lol. MORE SCREENTIME K.

takada kenta - he has star quality but he needs to nurture it&he’s bae.... when he speaks jap he kills me. when he speaks korean he kills me. when he breathes---------- ok he needs more screentime and also improvement. he’s a NICE singer. don’t get me wrong... but to get into top 11 he needs something more. soMETHING eXTra.

kim samuel - his rank is dropping. not v good. but it seems like it’s coz international fans are mostly voting for him and his korean fanbase is not that established yet then the int fans acc got confiscated otl ? i’m 50/50 with him debuting. don’t get me wrong... he’s good at everything, lovely and DEF ready to debut. I just don’t mind either way... i love him as a person, he seems like a genuine kid following his dream and that’s so precious ; w ; but i hope he hits it big in the future ^ ^

jung sewoon - i was either gonna put him here or in “star potential but needs to improve” because i haven’t gotten a good look at his dancing yet. his stage presence is good and HOT DAMN body proportions. his main selling point is guitar + ponyo + voice but i feel like he needs to a boost to his selling point if he desperately wants to make it ; w ;

trainees with star potential but needs to improve: 

lai guanlin&yoo seonho - they’re both high up on the ranks but i truly feel that they need to improve their skills a LOT before going to debut or between the end of pd101 and the debut. they’re both good looking and nice and stuff but we need to look at the group from more than a handsome oppa selling point. guanlin has a nice voice and seonho is a talented pianist. they’re both talented but just needs to improve that extra mile to be ready for a bigger competition than pd101 in the future. 

joo haknyeon - he’s fresh. he’s jeju. his smile. his ass. his pigs. i’ve been trying to rake thro my mind to find something or even a snippet of hope of his talent in action... but other than wanting to be center and crying over his rank... i didn’t find any tbh. i’m gonna thro his vids again and i hope by the next time i rewrite another 100000 page essay on pd101 you’ll find some good words in his section bCOZ I DESPERATELY WANNA DISS OUT COMPLEMENTS. his going to skool vid got me good but pls haknyeon... show us something that’ll wow the crowds boi. other than your looks

kim yongguk - he’s one that didn’t stand out until the last 4men team killer ballad thingy. his voice is nice. a killer. good in ballad. but other than that i’m not sure what else he can sELL to us. yes he’s good looking, looks like he got some good character and his voice is nice? i need something more boi. i hope you shine in the next concept evaluation so i can bump you up. 

ahn hyeongseob&choi minki - practically similar to the last 4 peeps. i know some of them are sweet, salty, handsome, kawaii but pls give me more so that i LEGITLY wanna push wooJiN out of my top spot for you. not really gonna happen but u kno. but i gotta say hyeongseob got me good with his rising friendship with woojin HE MENTIONED MY BAE IN HIS SPEECH AND I BAWLED ROLLED OVER MY BED.

kim taedong, kwon hyunbin - really it’s the same case as above but taedong seems hardworking and hyunbin is now slOWly recovering his image. but his rank keeps on dropping so i’m not sure if he’s recovering or if he’s keeping his current fans alive. 

kim yehyun & other who i didn’t mention + park woodam - park woodam is good at singing and stuff and he’s awesome performer don’t get me wrong but as for the idol aspect of things... he’s a little behind HE LOOKS NICE TO ME but you know the standards in korea. I hope he doesn’t get sworn at like yoo yeonjung if he does get in. kim yehyun is like covered up in dust with no actual real footage on him (beside the passing camera pd101 tv thingy???) so yeah. he has talent in harmonising and piano(?) but other than that i don’t notice or mnet doesn’t let me notice him lol. oh yeah moonbok is nice and all but i don’t really think that he cuts it in being an idol group. he’s better off solo in my opinion :’D other bois that wasn’t mentioned are either mummified by mnet’s editing or i just seem to ‘get’ into them. like they’re not my type. may be yours... but not mine.

Wow okay…my personal top 11 is comprised of ppl I foundenjoyable to watch and have fun cheering for, I’m a sucker for dumb fools and hiddenstorylines so yeah. 

But, man if they put this group together I would screambecause noooomg it would mostly be a comedy troupe than an idol group. theymight as well be called 10gagmen1straightman (10G1S)

yoon jisung- I likedhim ever since ep 1. I think that most, if not all of the trainees were chatteringaway during the auditions but I find that he seems to not really censor hismouth. I think a lot of the trainees are very and tense image conscious (theyshould be due to mnet) and Jisung (and the other MMO guys) were more relaxed. He’s funny but not offensive funny…Iremember like when Daehwi was explaining his avengers team, Jisung was likeyeah, go ahead and eat up all the popular members, Dahewi and JKKSJDKSJKJKSTHAT MAN. He seems like a genuinely fun and nice person to be a round, judgingby how he seems close to both his label-mates and his 10/10 group-mates….anyways📢📢📢I LVOETHIS MAN AND THAT ANTI WHO DM’D HIM TO GET HIM IN TROUBLE CAN SRSLY FCUK OFF!!!📢📢📢

kim taemin -  he was so cute in his intro vid but he was sonervous his voice was shaking so much lmao poor thing…. Kim Yehyeon – He seemslike a really sweet guy and this story is what basically made me stan him (andgave him that 39+ rank rise) my boy is a fuckin saint he went to the emergencyroom because he was too overworked and he had to perform Be Mine will injured..T_T He did not almost die for no screentime and continuous repeats and zoom-insof ppl gulping….anyways he’s also dumb, you should support 

Lee Junwoo – an actualbaby!!!!!!!! He caught my eye in episode 0 but I totally forgot who he wasuntil I saw his famous TATATA dance. What I liked about him was that he didn’t completelygive up after messing up and he kept on going hard @ the dance (he even made itto a C despite those mistakes!) he’s an awesome dancer and has good expressions!I really look forward to seeing his Shape of You stage (I think) I heard it wassupposed to be real good. I’m also screaming because he looks like a baby is ashuge as an elephant IRL 184CM HOOOLLLLLY

kim yongguk – I gotto know him because of that pann post and I support and adore him so much butnot as much as kim sihyun does!!!!! He’s a pretty nice vocalist and pretty goodsinger..but I think because baekho stole the entire stage, it’s hard to judgehis stage presence,  I really do lookforward to seeing his stage and seeing him be more of a savage!

Ahn hyungseop – Ilove him, he’s such a textbook slyth, he even expressed disappointment ingetting a lower rank than before. I can see why ppl don’t like him (similar todaehwi) but I really do adore him and his quirky ways. While I think he’s agood performer, I do think he would be more a B-rank rather than A. I’m stillnot quite convinced of his singing just yet….

Joo Haknyeon – tbh,I feel like he was born to be an idol with a face like that, I think it has amore idol-ish feel than Jihoon’s. I find that he’s a really decent dancer too!I do wish he had a better audition song…like why’d u choose that song and b-boyto it omf. He seems to be a total sweetheart as well! Hanywayz…..i wanna seemore of his friendship with ong, they seem to be good friends as well Y_Y @mnetGIV EHIM MORE SCREENTIME.

Yoo Seonho – it’sa surprised to me how much I like him?? He’s so cute and harmless lmao. I can totallysee why he was casted, along with guanlin, and sent out despite being only trainees for 6 months. they will super popular in thefuture (if cube doesn’t fuck up). I’m not really expecting much from him, beinga 6 month trainee, but he did surprisingly ok in sorry sorry compared to hisexperience, I’m looking forward to seeing his next stage. He also seems to be agreat guy, judging by his fanaccs and activities.

Yeo Hwanung – he’sa great dancer and stable vocalist, why is he being slepton?????????????????????? He seems super sweet and patient with Justin too likegoing through the notes together…

 hennyways……here’s my top final 11 AKA B.O.I. …sorta. I thinkit’ll probably change after the next eps as people come to prove themselvesmore!! Kang Daniel – He’s another well rounder. So he seems like areal sweet person but he ( along with Ong ) don’t really seem to take shit fromppl and I like that they speak there mind, though I want him to be careful ofhis actions as well LMAO. He’s also a fuckn miracle worker, my friend went fromdisliking him in ep2 to being a full stan by ep5 so I think he seems to be aperson that would keep fans engaged for a long time.

 Park Jihoon – Yeah, I’m kinda being biased, but he’d doreal well as a stan attractor! He dancing is good and I feel like he’ll improveon his singing soon….okay enough…

Kim Jaehwan – holyyy shit his voice is sooo good. All theguys in sorry sorry team 2 were good, but the dude carried the vocals for histeam, lbr. Im sincerely hoping he pulls up into the final 11, the vocals would get a huge upgrade holy shit son.

 Im Youngmin – alpacaaaaa aaaaaa!! He’s growing on me somuch and seems to be a very kind person, teaching the be mine moves foreveryone. I love that group so much, they seem genuinely close to each other !!  His rapping is good and he seems to be quitecharismatic on stage

Kim Taedong – His jump from F to A holyyyy shit whattaman!!!  His moves are sharp and he’s astable singer, I’m really liking what I’m seeing from him so far. I think he’s real idol material and he seems likea complete dork too, I loff!!!!!!

Yoon Heeseok, lmaoooo he’s also another living meme. He’san excellent singer, I really want him to work on his dancing a bit though but heseems to be improving quite nicely, from F-B. his shoulders are also killer.

Lee Daehwi – Another all-rounder. He doesn’t deserve thehate he gets, I honestly hope he makes it, he has the skills and personality tomake it into the idol world. He’s a sweet boy.

Honestly, I think Hoshi would be a complete nervous wreck around any girls. Did you see him when he interviewed T-ARA back in early Mansae era? He was sweating so much.

Not that I can see any of the other members being any less of an awkward bean. Jun would spend the entire time hiding behind his hands and giggling or otherwise cringing at the camera (he seems suave, but he’s a baby around girls), Mingyu would be handsome until he starts making just awkward jokes and saying “thank you” too much when the girl ultimately keeps complimenting him, Vernon would handle it decently but would spend just a bit too much time staring into the camera or saying “ah, yeah~” like he does, Woozi would be polite but the chemistry would be a little difficult to work out, Seungkwan would never stop laughing and wouldn’t be able to keep eye contact for more than three seconds, DK would make strange jokes and would in general have no idea what to do with a girl if he had one, Wonwoo would end up not saying anything for the first half hour and then desperately call Coups for advice, and Jeonghan I just can’t flat out picture without another member to balance him out. The other two oldest as well as The8 I can see doing decently, especially Joshua. Joshua would be sweet and cute and The8 would have the whole “adorable foreigner” thing going for him, and while Coups would be literally the best boyfriend, he would also spend the entire time reassuring the fans that they’re all still his girlfriends. 

So the general idea... They would be an absolute adorable wreck of nervous and awkward but they would all rise to the challenge eventually, and after thinking through it... Yeah. Cast Hoshi. Hoshi is probably the best choice out of this mess of awkward boys.

tbh johnny's role is stan attractor lmao? not every kpop idol gets to have a significant role in music production but some debut to be variety stars, visuals or i personally believe that sm's main goal for johnny was for him to be a bridge between the group and the us market? if that makes sense. like he's a good musical artist but he's a great kpop idol
