Sonic doesnt like going to GUN because of how the scientists crowd him. Guess she figured he was picking at his ear because it bothered him, but he's just pondering. He plays with his ear when he thinks/is bored. (head cannon)

We'll explain what "chaos channels" are at some point in the story, but they're basically the pathways chaos energy flows through the body, something like your bloodstream- or if you know anything about Xianxia fantasy, this idea is inspired by it.
