Echoes of Her: Part Two
A/N: I originally intended for this to be a standalone BUT was inspired to continue on! I hope this lives up to the first part <3 How would we feel about a third part? Potentially concluding this mini series! As always comments and feedback are appreciated! My asks are also open! CW: Angst, hurt no comfort, love triangle Word Count: 1232
₊˚ ‿︵‿︵‿︵୨୧ · · ♡ · · ୨୧‿︵‿︵‿︵ ˚₊₊˚ ‿︵‿︵‿︵୨୧ · · ♡ · ·
You had become a ghost in your own life, haunting the corridors of the mansion with a hollow heart. Days passed in a blur of meaningless routine, the vibrant colors of your world now faded to shades of gray. You threw yourself into training, missions, anything to keep the pain at bay, but no matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t escape it. The memory of that night, the way you’d left Logan standing in the dimly lit room, haunted you relentlessly.
But what hurt more was the silence that followed.
Logan had kept his distance since then, retreating into himself as you had done. The mansion was a big place, but not big enough to avoid the constant threat of running into him, of catching a fleeting glimpse of the man who had once been your everything. When you did cross paths, the tension was suffocating, neither of you willing to break the silence that hung between you like a shroud.
You knew it was only a matter of time before it all came crashing down. And tonight, as you sat alone in your room, the quiet too loud, the walls too close, you felt the dam begin to break.
A knock at your door pulled you from the edge of your thoughts, and your heart stuttered in your chest. You didn’t need to ask who it was. You already knew.
“Come in,” you called out, your voice trembling.
The door creaked open, and there he was. Logan stood in the doorway, the dim light casting shadows across his rugged features. He looked as exhausted as you felt, his eyes dark with something that looked like regret. But there was something else, too—something that made your breath catch in your throat.
Pain.
“Hey,” he said softly, his voice a rough whisper that sent a shiver down your spine.
You nodded, unable to find your voice. The silence stretched between you, heavy and oppressive, until Logan finally stepped inside, closing the door behind him.
“I’ve been trying to stay away,” he admitted, his eyes locked on yours. “But I can’t. I can’t keep doing this, kid.”
The old nickname, once a sign of affection, now felt like a knife twisting in your gut. “Logan, why are you here?”
He hesitated, running a hand through his disheveled hair. “Because I’m tired of pretending. Tired of acting like this doesn’t hurt like hell.”
His words hit you like a punch to the chest, and you sucked in a sharp breath. “What do you want me to say? That it doesn’t hurt me too? That I don’t think about you every second of every day?”
Logan’s eyes softened, the vulnerability in them nearly breaking you. “I never wanted to hurt you. But I don’t know how to fix this.”
“Maybe you can’t,” you replied, your voice cracking under the weight of your emotions. “Maybe some things are too broken to be put back together.”
His face fell, the defeat in his eyes shattering what little resolve you had left. “Is that what you want? To just give up on us?”
“I don’t know what I want anymore,” you confessed, your voice barely a whisper. “I don’t know how to keep loving you when I know you can’t give me all of you.”
Logan’s hands balled into fists at his sides, his frustration boiling over. “It’s not that simple. You know it’s not. Jean… she’s in my blood, in my bones. But you—you’re in my heart, and I don’t know how to make sense of any of it.”
His words cut deeper than any blade ever could, and you felt the tears you’d been holding back start to fall. “Then what do you want from me, Logan? What do you expect me to do with that?”
He closed the distance between you in two long strides, his hands gripping your arms, his touch burning through the fabric of your shirt. “I don’t know,” he growled, his voice thick with desperation. “I don’t know, and it’s driving me insane.”
You wrenched yourself free from his grasp, your tears flowing freely now. “You don’t get to do this, Logan. You don’t get to come in here and tell me you care, only to turn around and break my heart all over again.”
“I’m trying,” he pleaded, his voice cracking. “I’m trying to be what you need, but I’m so goddamn scared I’m going to fail you.”
The rawness in his voice made your heart ache, but it also fueled the anger that had been simmering beneath the surface. “You already have,” you spat, the words venomous. “You failed me the moment you made me fall in love with you, knowing you could never fully love me back.”
Logan flinched as if you’d struck him, the pain in his eyes almost too much to bear. “You don’t think I know that? You don’t think I hate myself for it?”
The room seemed to shrink around you, the walls pressing in as you struggled to breathe. “Then why are you here, Logan? Why now?”
He took a step back, his gaze dropping to the floor as if the weight of your words was too much. “Because I can’t lose you,” he whispered, his voice barely audible. “Not you. Not like this.”
Your heart shattered at his confession, the pieces cutting deep into your soul. You wanted to believe him, to believe that there was a way out of this mess, but the reality of it all was too overwhelming.
“Logan,” you whispered, your voice trembling with the effort to hold yourself together. “We’re stuck in a cycle of hurting each other, and I don’t know if we’ll ever break free.”
He looked up at you, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. “Then tell me what to do. Tell me how to fix it.”
But you didn’t have an answer. There was no easy fix, no simple solution. Love was messy, complicated, and in your case, it was laced with an impossible choice that neither of you knew how to make.
“I don’t know if we can,” you admitted, your voice breaking. “And that scares me more than anything.”
Logan reached out, his hand trembling as it cupped your cheek, his thumb brushing away your tears. “I’m scared too,” he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “But I’d rather be scared with you than lose you.”
The sincerity in his words hit you like a freight train, and for a moment, you allowed yourself to hope. Maybe you could find a way through this, together. But the fear of being hurt again, of loving him only to watch him drift back into the shadows of his past, held you back.
“I need time,” you finally said, your voice barely above a whisper.
Logan’s face fell, but he nodded, his hand dropping to his side. “I’ll wait,” he promised, his voice hoarse. “I’ll wait as long as it takes.”
You wanted to believe that time would heal the wounds between you, but as Logan turned to leave, the door clicking shut behind him, you couldn’t shake the feeling that some scars might never fully fade.
And as you stood there in the silence of your room, the tears still streaming down your face, you couldn’t help but wonder if love—no matter how deep—was enough to bridge the gap between your fractured hearts.

Dungeons and Revenge
Plot- Eddie finds out the new guy in Hellfire is dating his ex girlfriend
Eddie watched intensely as he rolled his dice, along with Hellfire. The dice dinged against the table, all the boys standing up from their seats as they waited for it to land.
"THAT'S A HIT!" Eddie declared
The boys cheered as they defeated the dragon, ending the campaign for the night.
"HELL YES!" Mike cheered, high-fiving Dustin.
"Good game, boys. Until next time." Eddie said. The boys began packing up, and Eddie walked over to his newest member, Justin.
"J-man, amazing play," Eddie said, patting him on the shoulder. Justin smiled and stood up.
"Thanks, Eddie. Great campaign. It was sick to see all the dragons break apart and force us to save ourselves yet help each other."
Justin had been a member for a little over a month and Eddie hated to admit he was damn good. Not as good as Eddie though, no one ever was.
Eddie was always skeptical of letting new people join, but Justin earned his place and Eddie was starting to like him. He was a senior, a bit taller and more muscular than Eddie. Much shorter hair but just as dark, and a lighter shade of brown eyes.
The group all walked out into the parking lot, still talking about the amazing ending of the night. The conversation faded into the background when Eddie spotted a similar car in the parking lot.
"I was positive I was going to die once the monster spotted me," Dustin said, Mike added on but Eddie was still lost in staring at the parked car. He knew that car, it was hers. Y/N, his ex-girlfriend, is the girl he was still helplessly in love with.
Their relationship ended over five months ago and he still thought about her. He thought about their stupid fight, her wet eyes, and the loud bang as she slammed the door. He has barely seen her since, she did everything to avoid him. He looked for her everywhere, wanting to beg on his knees for another chance.
"Yo, Eddie you good?" Justin asked, taking Eddie out of his thoughts.
Eddie coughed and tore his eyes away, looking at the group of boys who stopped talking and were looking at him.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm good. Who needs a ride?" Eddie asked, his eyes already looking back at her car.
"Not me, my girlfriend is picking me up," Justin said with a smile. That love-sick puppy looks in his eyes. A look Eddie was familiar with, the one he always had for Y/N.
"Dude! Do you have a girlfriend? Is she hot?" Gareth asked
"We are fairly new, been seeing her for about two weeks. Made it official last night." Justin said with a smile. "And she's the prettiest girl I've ever laid my eyes on."
"What's her name?" Dustin called after him, Justin already walking into the parking lot.
"Y/N," Justin called back.
Eddie felt his blood run cold, and air stopped entering his lungs. He felt like he was suffocating. All the boys knew Y/N was a touchy subject, and they feared for Eddie's reaction.
They all watched as he walked to the familiar car. A car Eddie spent many times in, so many memories flashed through his head; their first kiss through her window, their first time having sex in the backseat, and where he admitted he loved her.
Eddie tried to fight back tears and failed. A few tears ran down his face as Justin was in the passenger seat. Eddie was thankful he couldn't see her because that would have hurt more. He watched as they drove off, no one knowing what to say.
~
Eddie slammed the trailer door behind him as he raced to his room, storming past a worried Wayne as he locked his bedroom door. He threw his bag on the ground and collapsed on his bed. He screamed into his pillow, and then the screams turned into sobs.
He ignored as Wayne knocked on his door. He couldn't believe she moved on already. He wanted her to be in the same boat as him, he wanted to be the only boy on her mind. But the cold truth showed him he was nowhere in her mind.
He wanted to call, his fingers ghosting over the phone. But then he got a better idea, make her come to him. He wiped his face with his shirt and then grabbed his backpack. He tore it open and grabbed his dnd notebook.
~~~
Eddie was a wreck but tried his best to not show it. He hated that now whenever he saw Justin it hurt, and made him think about her. But he had a plan to get his revenge, to release his anger towards Justin for going after what was his.
The boys were nervous about playing now that they knew Justin was dating Eddie's ex-girlfriend. No one told Justin and he was oblivious to the target on his back. Dustin gulped when he saw the smirk and glint in Eddie's eyes.
~
"Yikes, Justin. Looks like you got hit by Lich again!" Eddie crackled, loving the way the boy groaned.
"Let me get in the room and see if I can help," Mike said.
Justin sighed in relief, hoping the rest of the group could join him as they took turns. But his hope was lost when Lich seemed to only target him. Justin thought hard about what he should do, he raised his shield and began to battle.
The boys watched as Eddie and Justin were going head to head. Justin rolled and was successful, able to use his shield as he struck at Lich.
"Remind me your AC?" Eddie asked, a happy smile on his face as he shook the dice.
"I feel like you would remember since this is the 5th hit in 2 rounds... but it's a 17." Justin sighed, starting to get annoyed that Eddie seemed to only target his player during the whole session.
Eddie nodded, enjoying the way he got Justin riled up. He was acting out of jealousy but so what. Justin is winning in life so Eddie might as well win in the game. Eddie rolled his dice onto the table, standing up to see over his books.
"Good! I rolled an 18." He wasn't afraid to show how smug he was, sitting back down with a cocky smirk.
~
The boys were less excited as they walked out of the session, almost no one spoke. Justin was slightly fuming at Eddie but he'd never challenge the master. But that's what Eddie wanted, he wanted Justin to get in his face. Just anything to give Eddie a reason to sucker punch him right in the nose.
Eddie stayed back, knowing he couldn't stand to see Justin going to her again.
Justin sighed as he got in the car, leaning over to softly peck Y/N's lips.
"How did it go?" Y/N asked, peeling out of the parking lot.
"Ass. I could barely fight back, Eddie kept hitting me from left and right. It almost felt like he was personally attacking me." Justin ranted. He had no idea what he did to piss him off.
Y/N rolled her eyes at Eddie's actions, and a bit of anxiety settled in her stomach as she knew why.
"I don't know what I did to him," Justin added
Y/N offered a small smile and moved her hand to softly rub his thigh as she kept her eyes on the road.
"Eddie used to be a good friend of mine, let me talk to him."
~
Eddie was watching the TV, with the volume on low to not disturb Wayne, when there were a few knocks on the door.
He groaned as he stood up, walking towards the door. He slightly cracked it, and his heart sped up when he saw her.
"Y/N?"
"We need to talk," she said, her arms crossed. Eddie opened the door and she walked past him. He closed the door and followed into his bedroom.
She sat on his bed as he walked in. He wanted to take a mental image of how she looked on his bed again. He walked towards her, softly reaching out to cup her face.
She pushed his hand away, and he gulped. He could already feel himself getting emotional as he continued to look at her.
"It's been so long," he said quietly, "I've missed seeing you."
She shook her head and stood up. Walking to the other side of the room to create more space.
"Why are you being a dick to Justin? He loved being part of Hellfire! And he was really upset tonight."
Eddie rolled his eyes and scoffed.
"He's whining about a game? Oh, come on, baby. It's a fucking game!" Eddie argued
"No, he's upset that you put a target on him and he has no idea why. But me? I've got a good idea why you are acting like a jackass," she fought back. Her eyes were hard but Eddie just loved having her eyes on him again.
"Why's that, sweetheart?" She wanted to smack the smirk off his face. She hated herself for how attracted she still was to him.
Ignoring the way the nicknames made her body heat up, she replied, "You found out about us and you got jealous. Which I'd like to remind you that you have no right to be jealous."
"No right?" Eddie laughed as he scoffed. "I'm fucking in love with you. Still, head over my feet for you, and you're dating some other guy!" His voice started to rise but he wasn't yelling.
"You broke up with me! Did you forget that? Did you remember that when you decided to have your pity party and take it out on a guy who seems to actually like me?" Y/N argued, she wasn't surprised by his behavior but she was surprised she'd still be dealing with it.
"I didn't BREAK UP WITH YOU!" He argued, his voice rising and rising.
"WELL YOU NEVER WENT AFTER ME!" She yelled back, throughout all the fighting they didn't notice how close they became. Their bodies were inches away, chest to chest.
"YOU TOLD ME NOT TO! I DIDN'T WANT TO KEEP SCREWING UP"
"YOU'RE ALWAYS SUPPOSED TO GO AFTER ME. BEG ME AND TELL ME YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT ME!" her voice cracked as her yelling turned into soft sobs, "but yo-ou let me leave, I waited in my car and you never came" she whimpered.
Eddie gulped as he watched the tears fall down her face. He stepped forward, closing any space they had between them. His hands cupped her wet cheeks and he bent slightly down so his eyes were level with hers.
"I wanted to follow you so badly. I wanted to walk up to you anytime I got just a second of you. I've failed many times at not listening to you and I thought I was doing what you wanted. Baby, if I knew all I had to do was run after you I would have run in a heartbeat." He said
She sniffled and tried not to melt into his hands. His touch on her skin and his body inches from hers, it's all she craved those long five months.
"You had five months, Eddie. Why now? Why now when I just started to move on?"
"I'm selfish and can't watch another person make you happy. Not when I know I can. If you want to move on, I can't stop you. But if I can offer exactly what he can, I will do it a thousand times better." He said, and before she could blink his lips pressed against hers.
She melted as his warm lips moved against hers. The similarity of the kiss made her heart flutter. She tried to fight it, her hands on his chest to push. But then his hands moved down to her waist and he pulled away, but just barely.
A broken whisper or whimper, she couldn't tell, fell from his lips and landed on hers,
"Please"
She shoved every thought away that told her it was a bad idea. And listened to the way her heart raced like it only did with him. Her actions were fast, her hands cupping his face as she kissed him as hard as she could.
They moved in perfect synchrony, their lips fit together. They clung to each other desperately, making sure the other couldn't go too far away.
They kissed until their lungs burned, begging for air. She pulled away but kept her touch on him.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything. If you give me another chance, I promise, I will always run after you. I'll pick you up kicking and screaming and bring you home." He pleaded.
This was the first time Y/N believed she ever saw Eddie break down and beg. He was always so damn stubborn, but now he cried and pleaded.
"What if you promise not to make me want to run away?" She joked, a tiny laugh leaving her lips. Eddie softly chuckled, sniffling.
"Anything you want and need," he said, softly kissing her lips again.
"What the hell do I tell Justin?" She asked
"I'll write it into the camping," Eddie joked, loving when she swatted at his chest.
Forgiveness is a long road and he was ready to walk it all.
"This thou perceiv'st, which makes thy love more strong // To love that well which thou must leave ere long." -William Shakespeare (Sonnet 73)
PART IV: TONIGHT, I WALK AWAY
zombie apocalypse sevika x reader au!: sevika was the super soldier; a killing machine driven solely by survival. you were nomadic, constantly searching for something in whatever was left of the world—till you met her.
series masterpost: part I // part II // part III // part V
wc: 7.8k cw: violence, angst, major character death author's note: Honestly I'm starting to get why TWD writers do what they do after writing this chapter... I also apologize for taking so long for this chapter, my classes are starting now so updates will be a bit a slower </3 **also some eastereggs but the sonnet 73 quote I have is mentioned in the scene where Grayson talks about love. It's pretty much the translated modern English definition of the quote! The make a wish dialogue is also from the movie Dangerously Yours (1937), that scene always gets me so I had to include it haha
You drift in and out of consciousness, the world around you a hazy blur of pain and disjointed voices. Through the fog, you catch glimpses of three figures engaged in intense discussion.
Sevika's there, her face etched with worry. Beside her stands a tall, bald gaunt man and a mask covering the lower half of his face. His eyes are sunken, giving him an almost skeletal appearance. The third figure is shorter, with slicked-back dark hair and a prominent scar running down one side of his face, his right eye a striking shade of green.
Their voices filter through your muddled thoughts:
"...low on medical supplies for a procedure like this," the masked man says, his voice muffled and clinical. "There's no sure chance she can make it."
"I'll go to the hospital."
"It’s too dangerous." The scarred man's voice is sharp and skeptical.
"We've been low on supplies for too long," Sevika argues. "It's time we do it now. We cannot lose any more people."
Their words fade as you slip back into darkness, only to resurface again as you're being moved. You have no idea how much time has passed, but you're on some kind of gurney, the ceiling passing by overhead. You try to move, but your limbs feel heavy and unresponsive. Glancing down, you see your wrists are handcuffed to the sides of the bed.
Panic surges through you as you realize you're being rolled into what looks like a makeshift operating room. The masked man and the scarred one are there, now wearing blood-stained surgical gowns. You try to fight, to call out, but your body won't cooperate.
The scarred man leans over you, his mismatched eyes boring into yours. "It will be over soon," he says, his voice oddly soothing despite the circumstances. Then he's lowering a gas mask over your face, and the world fades to black.
When you wake again, your mind is clearer, though your body feels like it's been run over by a truck. The scarred man is sitting in a chair beside your bed, watching you with an unreadable expression.
"Ah, you're awake," he says, leaning forward. "Good. I was beginning to wonder if we'd miscalculated."
You try to speak, but your throat is dry, raw. He holds up a hand, silencing you.
"No need to strain yourself. I just wanted to... observe you.” He pauses. "It's been a long time since I've had to perform a procedure like that. It’s quite a reminder of what still lurks beyond these walls. How we’ve grown complacent."
Your eyes drift to his face, lingering on the scar that runs down the right side, bisecting his eye. The eye itself is a startling shade of green, almost luminescent against his pale skin. You must have been staring, because the man chuckles, a dry, humorless sound.
"Curious, aren’t you?" A sardonic smile twists his features. "It’s only natural - people always wonder. But few ever ask. It’s a souvenir from when Zaun was still crawling out of the muck. When men I called brothers tried to drag me back down for a piece of land."
His finger traces the scar slowly, almost lovingly. "This... this was their parting gift." He trails off, then continues in a near-whisper. "Have you ever felt pain so exquisite it becomes transcendent? For days, I danced on the knife's edge between genius and madness."
His gaze refocuses on you, sharp and penetrating. "But pain, you see, can be transformative. It stripped away my naivety, my weakness. It forged me into something stronger, something capable of truly leading Zaun."
“I think I understand why Sevika is so fond of you." His lips curl into something that might be a smile but doesn't reach his eyes. "There's something in you, just like her. That part that's willing to sacrifice."
You furrow your brow, confusion, and wariness warring inside you.
"Some sacrifices are necessary to be made. But they're also weaknesses," He stands, smoothing down his shirt. "Something to consider."
With those cryptic words, he turns and leaves, the door clicking shut behind him. You're left alone, your mind racing with questions. Who were those men? What exactly happened to you? And how much time had gone by?
The weight of uncertainty presses down on you, and exhaustion soon follows. Despite your churning thoughts, your eyelids grow heavy, and you drift into an uneasy sleep.
When you wake again, its by the sound of shuffling feet and the creak of a door opening. The haze of sleep still clings to your mind as you slowly become aware of your surroundings.
Sevika enters, holding a plate of food. Her eyes meet yours, and for a moment, neither of you speaks.
"Hey," she says finally, her voice softer than you've ever heard it.
"Hey yourself," you reply, unable to keep a slight tremor from your voice.
Sevika sets the plate on your bedside table, then stands awkwardly, as if unsure what to do with her hands. "Thought you might be hungry," she mumbles.
You nod, a thousand questions bubbling up inside you. Where has she been? Why didn't she visit sooner? What happened after the surgery? But looking at her now, seeing the dark circles under her eyes and the way she holds herself - tense, guarded - you decide those questions can wait.
Instead, you pat the bed beside you. "Sit with me?"
Sevika hesitates for a moment, then complies. As she settles beside you, you feel the warmth of her presence, so familiar yet somehow changed.
"I missed you," you say simply.
Sevika's eyes widen slightly, a flicker of emotion crossing her face before she schools it back to neutrality. "I... I'm glad you're okay," she replies, her voice gruff but sincere.
As you and Sevika sit together, you try to maintain a casual conversation, but there's an undercurrent of tension you can't ignore. Sevika's responses are clipped, her gaze never quite meeting yours. It's like she's looking through you, not at you.
"Hey," you say softly, reaching out to touch her arm. "What's going on?"
She turns slowly, her eyes finally meeting yours. But there’s something different in them, something that makes your heart clench. It’s infuriating, this distance she’s putting between you, this wall she’s building brick by brick.
“Sevika,” you say, trying to break through that wall. “Talk to me.”
She crosses her arms over her chest. “Nothing can happen between us again,” she says, the words falling heavy between you like a death sentence.
You stare at her, disbelief mingling with hurt. “What?”
Her gaze flickers, something like pain flashing in her eyes before she steels herself again. “We can’t do this,” she says, her voice low and strained. “We can’t keep pretending this… whatever this is… can last.”
You feel the ground shift beneath you like the world is falling away, leaving you teetering on the edge of a precipice. “You’re really going to say that after everything?” Your voice cracks, the hurt seeping through despite your best efforts to keep it at bay. “How do you kiss someone, make them believe there’s something real, and then just—throw it away?”
Sevika’s jaw clenches, and she looks away, as if unable to bear the sight of your pain. “You can be mad at me, hate me if you want,” she says. “But it has to be this way.”
“I’m not mad,” you reply, your heart breaking with every word. “I’m hurt, Sevika. I’m hurt because I care about you, and you’re pushing me away like none of it matters.”
“I know,” she whispers, her voice so soft it’s almost lost in the hum of the machines.
“Then why?” you demand, your voice wavering as you struggle to understand. “Why are you doing this?”
She finally looks at you, really looks at you, and the anguish in her eyes is like a punch to the gut. “Because if I let myself love you,” she says, her voice breaking on the word, “I know we’d never have enough time. ”
Her words hit you like a tidal wave, drowning you in the despair that’s been brewing in your chest. “But isn't some time better than none at all? I'd rather have a handful of precious moments with you than spend the rest of my life wondering 'what if.'” The tears you’ve been holding back now streaming down your face.
“Even if it hurts, even if it's brief – at least it would be real.”
Sevika shakes her head, her expression a storm of anger and fear. Her words come out in a rush, like she can't hold them back any longer.
"You don't understand. I was okay before you. I was okay with the idea of dying, of existing day after day without purpose until my time ran out. But now?" Her voice hardens. "Now I'm terrified. I'm not okay with losing you. I'm not okay with the thought that you could walk out that door and never come back."
“I didn't need this. I didn't need you to come along and give me a reason to call this godforsaken place home. I didn't need you to make me want to survive instead of just exist.” She’s practically pleading now. “Don't you see what you've done to me? Needing you means I have something to lose."
The weight of her confession crushes you, the finality of it sinking in. She’s not just pushing you away—she’s tearing herself apart to do it, ripping out the very thing that might make her feel alive, all because she’s so afraid of the pain it could bring.
“I’d shatter every bone in my body again if it meant keeping you safe,” you say, your voice trembling. “I’d do anything for you, Sevika, and it hurts so bad that you won’t let me.”
She turns her head away. “You’re too stubborn,” she whispers, her voice resigned. “You won’t stop, and neither will I, and it’ll kill us both in the end.”
“You look at me like I’m already dead,” you say, your voice cracking with the weight of your grief. “Like I’m a ghost you’ve been carrying around, waiting for the right moment to bury me.”
She flinches, the words cutting deep. “Because that’s what it feels like,” she confesses. “I feel like I’ve already lost you, and it’s killing me. I’d rather lose you now when we still have a chance to walk away than lose you out there, where I can’t protect you.”
The following silence is deafening, the air thick with everything neither of you can bring yourselves to say. You reach out, your hand trembling as you gently caress her cheek, trying to offer comfort in the only way you know how. She leans into your touch for a moment, her eyes closing as if she’s trying to savor it, to hold onto it before it’s gone.
“Are you doing this to protect me, or are you protecting yourself?” you ask softly, the question hanging in the air like a lifeline, offering her one last chance to admit the truth.
She opens her eyes, and the pain you see there nearly undoes you. “Both,” she admits. “I’m protecting both of us. I’ll never survive the day I lose you. And I can’t—” Her voice breaks, and she swallows hard, her eyes pleading with you to understand. “I can’t live.”
Your heart shatters as the reality of her words sinks in. She’s already decided, already convinced herself that this is the only way to keep you both safe, even if it means tearing herself apart in the process.
“Can I be alone?” you ask, your voice small and broken, the words barely escaping your lips.
Sevika nods, her expression tightening as she takes a step back. “Yeah,” she says. “I’ll go.”
She turns to leave, but before she can take another step, you reach out. “Sevika, wait,” you say, your voice filled with desperation. “Can you hand me my bag?”
She hesitates, her gaze flickering to the bag and then back to you. After a moment, she nods and hands it to you, her fingers brushing yours for the briefest of moments, sending a jolt of longing through you. You rummage through the bag, your heart pounding as you pull out the familiar fabric of her shawl.
You hold it out to her. “This belongs to you.”
Sevika stares at the shawl, her eyes widening as she realizes what it means. For a moment, she just stands there, looking at it like it’s a lifeline she’s too afraid to grasp. Then, she takes it from you.
She looks at you, and in her eyes, you see all the things she wants to say, all the things she’s too scared to admit. And then, without another word, she turns and walks out of the room, the door closing quietly behind her, leaving you alone with nothing but the ghost of her touch and the scent of her shawl lingering in the air.
You didn’t accept any visitors for days, under the guise that you were too tired and needed the rest to recover. But as tempting as curling in bed and crying over a woman that you never even had a proper relationship with was, you knew you couldn’t hide away forever.
Blinking, you see a group of people piling into your room.
Vander's deep voice rumbles, "Easy now, let's not overwhelm her."
Caitlyn is standing over you. "How are you feeling? Any pain?"
Before you can answer, Powder chimes in, "Bet you feel like you've been hit by a truck. Am I right?"
"Something like that," you croak.
Your attention is drawn to the doorway where Grayson stands, little Ren in her arms. The child is clutching Grayson's yellow armband tightly.
Grayson sets Ren down gently. "Go on, little one," she says softly.
Ren doesn't need to be told twice. She rushes to your bedside, her small hands gripping the edge of the mattress. "Miss, are you okay?" she asks, her voice shakes slightly. "Will you be like Sevika?"
The innocence in her question tugs at your heart. You reach out, ignoring the twinge of pain from the movement and the mention of Sevika, to pat her hand. "No, darling," you reply softly. "Sevika is unique. I'll be just fine."
Grayson moves closer, her stern expression softening slightly. "That was brave," she says. "But also very idiotic of you."
You frown at the comment, the words too similar to Sevika’s at the prison.
Vander's voice pulls you from your thoughts. "You gave us quite a scare," he says. "But you're tough. You'll pull through."
Caitlyn nods in agreement. "We've managed to replenish some of our medical supplies thanks to the hospital mission." she informs you.
Vi adds with a smirk, "And don't even think about trying to get up and be a hero again anytime soon."
“Yeah… I wouldn’t dream of it,” you respond hoarsely.
Over the next week, your family comes and goes, their visits being the highlight of your monotonous days. Grayson usually stopped by with Ren, the two were closer than you expected but Marcus had flitted in and out of Ren’s life so often that Grayson stepped up as a parental figure. You offered to take care of the kid while you were still bed-bound, and Grayson only reluctantly agreed when you assured her it wouldn’t obstruct your healing process.
You find yourself sitting up in bed, Ren cross-legged beside you. Math worksheets are spread out between you.
"If an apple cost three dollars and you needed to buy five apples, how much would that cost?"
Ren's brow furrows in concentration. "Um... fifteen dollars?"
You beam at her. "That's right! You're getting good at this."
A knock at the door interrupts your math lesson and Vi pokes her head in, her red hair slightly disheveled.
"Hey, time to get moving," she says with a grin.
You turn to Ren, giving her a warm smile. "Let's do this again tomorrow, sweetie?"
Ren nods enthusiastically, gathering her papers. "Alright! Bye-bye, miss! I hope you feel better!"
As Ren scampers out, Vi approaches, offering her arm for support. You wince as you stand, your body still protesting the movement.
“Easy,” she murmurs, her tone softening as she watches your struggle. “Take it slow.”
You grit your teeth, focusing on her voice, on the feel of her arm supporting you. Slowly, you manage a few steps, each one a little less painful than the last.
“How’s it feel?” Vi asks, keeping pace with you, her gaze never leaving your face.
“Like hell,” you admit with a shaky laugh, though there’s a small sense of victory in the simple act of standing on your own two feet again. “But better than yesterday.”
Vi nods, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. “Progress,” she says. “You’re getting stronger.”
As you slowly make your way down the hallway, Vi starts chatting about her day. "You wouldn't believe the shit from yesterday. We were chasing some survivors that tried to steal our shit through an alley, and then Sevika shows up out of nowhere and--"
The moment the words are out, Vi winces, realizing her mistake too late. You feel a sharp pang in your chest at the mention of Sevika's name.
"Uh, anyway, we got the guy in the end.” she says.
“She… was?” you ask, trying to keep your voice steady.
Vi looks away, guilt flashing in her eyes. “Yeah,” she says softly. “Didn’t mean to bring it up.”
“It’s good,” you say, though the words feel like a lie even as they leave your lips. “It’s good that she caught them.”
Vi nods. “I’m sorry.”
You shake your head, forcing a small smile. “It’s okay. It’s just… I miss her. It’s stupid, we weren’t anything.”
“I know,” she says. “But it’s not stupid.”
There’s a long silence, the kind that’s filled with all the words neither of you know how to say. “If you didn’t have Caitlyn, would you be okay with all of this? Would you be able to live with everything we do?”
She’s quiet for a moment as she considers your words. “Do I have a choice?” she finally says, her voice tinged with a sadness you’ve rarely heard from her. “I have Powder. I have you, Vander… my family. I’d feel incomplete, sure, but I don’t have a choice. I have to keep going.”
“We’ll keep going, together.” She adds.
“Thanks, Vi.” Despite your gratefulness, her words feel like they’re coming from a distance, muffled by the grief you’re still trying to process.
Your family helps you through it all, they talk to you about everything and nothing, filling the silence with stories. The days pass, and slowly, you begin to reclaim small pieces of yourself. You walk more, the physical therapy sessions become less of a struggle and more of a routine.
And each night, when the room is quiet and you’re alone with your thoughts, you think of Sevika. It’s not easy. Some days, the weight of it all feels unbearable, like you’re drowning in a sea of what-ifs and lost chances. But you keep going, step by step, knowing that it’s all you can do.
One evening, after a particularly exhausting session, you lie in bed, staring up at the ceiling as your thoughts drift. You think about Sevika, about the last time you saw her, the pain in her eyes as she walked away. And you wonder if she feels the same weight, if she’s struggling just as much to move on.
You close your eyes, and for a moment, you imagine her here, standing by your side. And as you drift off to sleep, you could swear you hear her voice, soft and broken, whispering in the dark.
“I failed you.”
The pantry is filled with the scent of canned goods and the faint rustle of paper bags. You’re focused on stacking cans of beans when your grip falters, and one slips from your fingers.
Before it can hit the ground, a hand darts out and catches it. You look up to see a man with a cocky grin. He’s tall and lean, with slicked-back hair and piercing teal eyes. You don’t know why, but he looked oddly familiar.
“Well, well,” he drawls. “What’s a pretty girl like you doing down here? Are we that understaffed that we’re making the injured work now?”
You snatch the can back from him. “Not that it’s any of your business,” you reply curtly, setting the can back on the shelf, “but I wanted to do this.”
He chuckles, leaning against the shelf with a casual arrogance. “Looks like supplies are running a bit thin,” he comments slyly, his eyes flicking to the half-empty shelves. “Maybe you should take it easy before you use up what little energy we have left.”
You narrow your eyes at him, your patience wearing thin. “I’m not interested in your opinion.”
Before he can retort, the door to the pantry swings open with a loud creak, and Sevika steps inside. The air changes instantly when her gaze zeroes in on the man.
“Finn,” she growls. “What are you doing here?”
Finn straightens up and raises his hands in mock surrender. “Just making sure our friend here isn’t overworking herself,” he says innocently.
“Get lost,” Sevika snaps. “Now.”
With a lazy shrug, Finn backs off, giving you a final, lingering look before sauntering out of the pantry. The door closes behind him, leaving you alone with Sevika.
Sevika turns to you. “I was told you’re working here again,” she says, her voice sharp with disapproval. “Are you stupid? You’re barely healed.”
You bristle at her tone. "I needed to do something."
"Yeah, like babysitting Ren," she snaps. “Not this.”
"Why does it matter what I do?" you challenge, your voice rising.
For a moment, Sevika doesn’t answer, but then her eyes widen.
“You’re bleeding.”
You blink, confused. “What?”
You look down and see a trickle of blood seeping through the bandages on your side. The pain hits you a second later, sharp and burning, but you grit your teeth, refusing to show weakness in front of her.
“It’s nothing,” you say quickly, trying to downplay it. “I can bandage it myself.”
But Sevika is already moving toward you, her expression darkening with worry. “You’re not going back to your place like this,” she mutters. “Come on. My place is closer.”
Before you can protest, she’s already scooping you up into her arms. The world blurs around you as she carries you through the streets and you’re too shocked to resist.
When you reach her place, she sets you down on the edge of her bed, her touch lingering for just a moment longer than necessary before she pulls away.
“Just sit,” she instructs as she moves to grab a first aid kit from a nearby drawer.
“I can do it.”
Sevika shakes her head, her expression set in a way that leaves no room for argument. “I have experience with this,” she says quietly. “Let me.”
You watch in silence as she works. Her hands, usually so strong and rough, are gentle as they press a fresh bandage against your skin. There’s a tenderness in the way she handles you, in the way she refuses to meet your gaze as she focuses on the wound, that makes your chest ache.
Finally, Sevika finishes. She stands, the distance between you growing once more as she busies herself with putting away the first aid kit, her movements stiff and mechanical.
“Thanks.” You want to leave, not to be any more inconvenient than you already were but Sevika replies before you can say anything.
“You should rest,” she says, her voice flat, devoid of the warmth that was there just moments ago. “Don’t push yourself like that again.”
You reluctantly agree to stay and the tension in Sevika's shoulders eases slightly. She mumbles something about bringing dinner later and leaves you to rest.
Left alone, you take in your surroundings. The room is sparse, almost impersonal. Unlike the chaos in the other rooms, this space feels hollow. There are no personal belongings, no knick-knacks, nothing to suggest that she even uses this bed. It's as if the room itself is holding its breath, existing in a state of perpetual temporariness.
Exhaustion soon overtakes you, and you drift off to sleep. But you soon wake again at the sound of muffled voices. Through the haze of half-consciousness, you hear one of Sevika's people inviting her to a party, but she declines.
"Nah, I'm staying in today," you hear her say.
The voices fade, and you slowly wake up, disoriented. You stumble to the doorway of the living room, blinking sleep from your eyes. Sevika is there, dressed in casual clothes – a grey tank top and worn jeans with her hair down, falling in messy waves around her face. She's cleaning up, a pile of bottles in her arms when she notices you.
"You're awake," she says, startled. "Shit, did I wake you up?"
You shake your head, your voice still rough with sleep. "No, you're good... Do you need help with that?"
"No. Fuck, sit down. What are you doing walking around?"
Still groggy, you comply without argument, sinking into the couch. Sevika dumps the bottles in a bag and turns back to you.
"I'm making dinner," she says, washing her hands at the sink. "You're okay with instant noodles and spam?"
The domesticity of the moment catches you off guard. "Sounds delicious," you manage to say.
Sevika nods and turns to the small kitchenette. You watch her move around the space. It's surreal, seeing her like this – relaxed, casual, making dinner for you both. For a moment, you can almost pretend things are different between you.
Sevika settles on the far arm of the couch next to you, the small distance between you both feeling more like a chasm.
"Chopsticks or fork?" she asks, holding out both options.
"Chopsticks," you reply, and a ghost of a smile flickers across her face.
"Good choice," she murmurs, handing them to you.
You eat in comfortable silence, stealing glances at her when you think she's not looking. When you finish, Sevika collects the empty bowls.
"Want dessert?"
"Sure," you nod, watching as she retrieves an apple from the kitchen.
She settles back on the arm of the couch, peeling the apple with a small knife. "How's the physical therapy going?" Sevika asks, breaking the silence.
You shrug. "It's... going. Slow progress, but progress nonetheless."
She nods, placing slices onto a plate. "That's good. Don't push yourself too hard."
"Says the woman who never knows when to quit," you tease gently.
A wry smile tugs at her lips. "Do as I say, not as I do."
As you reach for the last slice, Sevika’s hand brushes your cheek. You freeze, the touch unexpected, and you look up at her, your heart suddenly pounding in your chest.
“There’s an eyelash,” she says softly, her voice gentle as she carefully removes it from your face. She holds it up for you to see, the tiny, delicate lash resting on her fingertip. “Make a wish.”
You stare at the eyelash, your mind racing with all the things you could wish for, should wish for. But the words stick in your throat, and you find yourself frozen, unable to think of anything that could possibly fix what’s been broken.
“Did you wish?”
You shake your head slightly, the corners of your mouth turning up in a sad smile. “I... I didn't get the chance.”
She raises an eyebrow, her gaze piercing as she studies you. “And there’s something you wish for?”
“Yes,” You hesitate, the words coming slowly, painfully, like pulling them from some deep, hidden place inside you. “I was wishing… that we were two other people. Two people who didn’t have to say goodbye.”
The silence that follows is thick, charged with the tension of emotions neither of you can afford to express. Sevika’s expression tightens, her jaw clenching as she absorbs your words.
“You know, if you say it out loud, it doesn’t come true,” she says, her voice rough, like she’s fighting against the vulnerability of the moment.
“Do you believe that?”
She looks down at the eyelash, still resting on her finger, before blowing it away into the air. Her gaze follows it for a moment before she looks back at you. “I don’t know what I believe anymore.”
The words hang in the air, heavy and unmovable, like a finality neither of you can escape.
“We should sleep,” Sevika says finally. “It’s late.”
You nod, knowing she’s right. There’s nothing more to be said, nothing that can change the way things are.
“Thank you,” you say softly.
Sevika looks at you for a long moment, her expression unreadable. Then she nods, just once, and steps back, letting you go. “Goodnight.”
“Goodnight,” you echo, your heart heavy as you turn and walk away.
As you reach the end of the hallway, you glance back, just once. Sevika is still standing in the doorway, watching you, her figure framed by the dim light. There’s something in her posture, something in the way she’s holding herself that makes you think she might be wishing too—wishing for something that neither of you can have.
But then she steps back, closing the door behind her, and you’re left standing in the cold, empty hallway, the echoes of what could have been ringing in your ears.
The sun hangs low on the horizon, casting long shadows across the makeshift shooting range. You and Grayson stand side by side, both of you facing a row of targets at the far end of the field. You’ve been practicing your aim for a while now, but your focus has been off, your shots missing the mark more often than not.
“You haven’t said anything about my shit shot,” you mutter, glancing sideways at Grayson, expecting some form of criticism.
She shrugs, her eyes on the distant targets. "You're injured. Why would I?"
You snort. "Liar. Weeks ago, you'd have torn me apart. What's different now?"
Grayson doesn't answer, instead gesturing to a nearby bench overlooking the community below. You follow her, settling onto the worn wood with a sigh.The elevated view makes the world seem vast and small all at once.
Grayson passes you a canteen, and you take a long drink before speaking again. "You snitched to Sevika about me working."
Grayson raises an eyebrow. "Snitching? Are we ten?"
"She didn't need to know," you mutter, avoiding her gaze.
"You were going hurt yourself," Grayson says softly. "And you needed to see her. For closure, at least."
You fall silent, not wanting to delve into the complicated mess of emotions surrounding Sevika. Instead, you change the subject. "How's Ren?"
“Ren’s sleeping in today. She’s been up late these past few nights, working on that puzzle I gave her.” Grayson’s face immediately brightens at the mention of Ren.
“She’s got that stubborn streak. Wonder where she gets it.”
“Must be the company she keeps,” Grayson replies, her voice laced with affection. “Marcus is at the walls today, keeping an eye on things. It’s been quiet, for the most part.”
You nod, your gaze drifting back to the field. “It’s strange, isn’t it?” you muse. “Every day is the same. We do the same things, see the same faces… What makes it worth living?”
Grayson leans back on the bench, her eyes scanning the horizon as she considers her answer. “You make your own reasons,” she says finally, her tone thoughtful. “For me, it’s taking care of Ren. Making sure she has something to hold onto, something good in this world.”
There’s a pause, and you can tell Grayson is choosing her words carefully. “I never thought of myself as the maternal type,” she continues, sounding almost wistful. “But with Ren… It’s different. She’s taught me more about love than I ever knew. In whatever time I got left here, I want to continue it with her, to see her grow up and prove there’s still something more for us here.”
You feel a pang in your chest, suddenly remembering Sevika and her belief that there would never be enough time for the two of you. But where Grayson found strength in loving deeply despite that, Sevika chose to close herself off, to protect herself from the inevitable pain.
Grayson looks at you, her eyes filled with a quiet understanding. “Sometimes, the hardest thing is to keep loving, even when you know it won’t last. But that’s what makes it worth it. Knowing that you made the most of the time you had, that you loved fully, even if it hurts in the end.”
Her words hit you like a punch to the gut, the truth of them resonating with a painful clarity.
“It’s hard,” you admit, your voice barely audible. “When you know it’s not going to last.”
Grayson nods, her expression gentle. “It is. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t worth it. You have to find your own reason to keep going, to keep loving, even when it seems like everything is falling apart.”
The conversation settles into a quiet lull, the words lingering between you as the sun dips lower in the sky. You take another sip from the flask, the burn of the alcohol doing little to numb the ache in your chest.
“You’re always looking out for us, making sure we’re okay.” you say after a moment, your voice tinged with admiration.
“I’m satisfied – knowing that I’ve done what I can to make this place a little better, to take care of the people who matter.”
“Thank you,” you say softly, the words carrying more weight than you intended. “For everything.”
“You don’t have to thank me,” she replies gently. “We’re all in this together. And besides,” she adds with a small, teasing smile, “someone has to keep you in line.”
You chuckle, the sound lightening the heavy atmosphere just a bit.
But the peaceful moment on the hill was brief, the tranquility shattered by the sound of rapid footsteps and panicked crying. You and Grayson turn to see Ren running towards you, her face streaked with tears and her small body shaking with sobs.
Grayson immediately drops to her knees, catching Ren in her arms. "What happened, sweetheart?" she asks, her voice calm but laced with urgency.
Ren tries to speak through her tears, her words coming out in broken gasps. "Daddy said... we were going on a trip... but the monsters... they blocked us and he couldn’t close the gate... now they're coming to get us!"
As if on cue, screams erupt from the direction of the community. You and Grayson exchange a quick glance, both reaching for your weapons without hesitation.
Ren clings to Grayson's yellow armband, her eyes wide with terror. "I want to go with you!" she cries.
Grayson cups Ren's face gently, her voice soft but firm. "Darling, listen to me. I will come back, I promise. But right now, you need to get to safety. Can you be brave for me?"
Ren nods, her lower lip trembling. You know without words what needs to be done - get everyone to safety.
You both sprint down the hill, Grayson carrying Ren. As you near the community, the chaos becomes more apparent. Gunshots ring out, mixing with screams of panic and pain. People are running in all directions, fear etched on their faces.
Vi appears beside you, her red hair wild and her eyes blazing. "We're seriously underarmed right now!" she shouts over the noise. "Sevika's crew is out!"
"We have to make do," you yell back, scanning the area. You spot Caitlyn and a few others on the walls, their snipers picking off threats in the distance.
You, Vi, and the handful of armed residents form a protective line, herding panicked civilians towards their homes. "Get inside! Lock your doors!" you shout, your voice hoarse from the effort.
Children cry for their parents, the elderly struggle to move quickly enough. You see a young mother stumble, her baby wailing in her arms. You rush to her side, helping her to her feet and guiding her to safety.
Everywhere you look, there's movement – people running, fighting, falling.
The air is thick with the stench of death and the deafening cacophony of gunfire. You're shoulder to shoulder with VI, both of you firing relentlessly at the endless wave of walkers. Sweat stings your eyes as you shout, "Vi! On your left!"
She pivots, taking down three walkers in quick succession. But for every one you drop, two more seem to take its place. The situation is rapidly spiraling out of control, and a sinking feeling in your gut tells you you're fighting a losing battle.
But suddenly, powerful headlights cut through the darkness as a convoy of trucks roars onto the scene. Your heart leaps – you'd recognize that cavalry anywhere.
As if materializing from thin air, more trucks appear, effortlessly mowing down walkers and clearing streets. One screeches to a halt in front of you, and then there she is.
A familiar figure vaults from the truck bed – Sevika, her red shawl billowing behind her. She swiftly unslings a shotgun from her back and starts blasting walkers left and right. Her face is composed, every feature carefully controlled, but when her eyes find yours, a fleeting shadow passes over them—a trace of fear and concern.
"You okay?" she shouts over the din, closing the distance between you.
You nod, breathless. "A lot are injured. I don't know, there's too many – I think they're coming from the west gate. Ren said something about Marcus not being able to close it."
Sevika's jaw tightens. She yanks out a radio, barking orders to dispatch teams to the west gate. In seconds, she's handing out weapons, her voice ringing with authority. "Split up! I want a team grabbing as many injured as possible. Anyone bitten, take them out."
As you move to join the fray, Sevika's hand clamps on your arm. "No," she growls. "What the hell are you doing? Get to safety with the others. You're still injured."
"Fine," you concede. "But I'm finding Grayson first."
Sevika gives a curt nod before sprinting back into action. You catch a glimpse of Vi, her red hair unmistakable as she leaps into a truck bed.
You weave through the chaos, dodging walkers and searching for Grayson. Gunfire echoes off buildings, punctuated by the revving of engines and the sounds of walkers being dispatched.
A scream to your left – you spin, firing instinctively. A walker drops, inches from a couple. You quickly wave to them to follow and you sprint to the safe house together. Your leg protests, but adrenaline keeps you moving.
Your heart pounds as you finally spot Grayson, but she's going the opposite direction.
"Grayson!" you shout. "Sevika and her team are here. We need to get everyone to safety!"
She doesn't slow down. "There's someone stuck in a car!"
That's when you see it - a vehicle surrounded by a writhing mass of walkers, their decaying hands clawing at the windows. Inside, you catch a glimpse of a terrified face.
Without hesitation, you sprint after Grayson. The two of you work in tandem, picking off walkers. When you reach the car, Grayson covers you as you wrench the door open. A young boy, no older than seven, practically leaps into her arms.
"We've got to move!" Grayson shouts.
You guys run, the child clinging to her as you lead the way. You’re clearing the path, and you’re halfway to the safehouse when you hear the dreaded click of an empty chamber.
"I'm out!" you yell.
Grayson turns, her eyes flashing with a decision you can see forming before she even speaks. "Take the kid. Go!"
"Wait, we can make it together!"
She shakes her head, placing the boy into your arms. "Sevika's crew is here, remember? I'll be okay. Get everyone to safety!"
Before you can protest, she's shoving you toward safety, using her body as a shield for the child. You run, every step feeling like a betrayal, but knowing you have to trust her.
You make it to a house, handing off the child to waiting arms. Your lungs burn as you gasp for air, eyes scanning the chaos for any sign of Grayson.
Suddenly, Sevika's there, her face smeared with grime and blood but her eyes alight with fierce triumph. "We closed the gate. Got them all."
Relief floods you for a moment, but then reality crashes back. "Wait, where's Grayson?"
Confusion flickers across Sevika's face, but before she can respond, a heart-wrenching wail cuts through the air. You both rush outside, joining a growing crowd.
The scene that greets you turns your blood to ice. Caitlyn is on the ground, her body wracked with sobs. Vi kneels beside her, arms wrapped around her shaking form. "I couldn't save her," Caitlyn chokes out between gasps. "I couldn't shoot them fast enough."
Her sniper lies discarded in the dirt, and that's when you see her. Grayson.
The world seems to tilt on its axis. You stumble forward, unable to process what you're seeing. Grayson, who was just beside you moments ago. Grayson, who sacrificed herself to save a child. Grayson, whose quiet strength held your community together.
She now lies on the ground, her body wracked with violent coughs, blood staining her lips. Her breaths had grown shallow, each one more of a struggle than the last, and when she reached for Sevika’s hand, you knew what she was asking for. Sevika’s fingers trembled as she grasped Grayson’s hand, and when Grayson whispered, “Do it,” you saw a flash of something break inside Sevika.
She obeyed.
The gunshot echoed in your ears, louder than the chaos around you, but it was the sight of Sevika gently closing Grayson’s eyes that broke you. Sevika had always been unbreakable, she seemed immune to the horrors of this world. But as she knelt beside Grayson, you saw the cracks forming. She closed Grayson’s eyes, her hand trembling just for a second before she stood up, towering over the body like a stone sentinel.
You could barely breathe, the grief suffocating you, making it impossible to think about anything other than how many bodies that needs burying tomorrow. How many families would be broken by the news? How many children would cry for family and friends who would never come home?
“Grayson?” Ren’s voice was barely a whisper, filled with innocence and confusion. The kid was supposed to be inside the safe house but instead, she stood there, eyes wide and uncomprehending, staring at the lifeless form on the ground. “Why is Grayson sleeping? Tell her to wake up… We won, didn’t we?”
You wanted to tell her something—anything—but the words choked in your throat. Ren dropped to her knees beside Grayson, her tiny hands shaking as they touched the cold, lifeless body.
Sevika finally moved, her expression unreadable, her walls up higher than ever. Without a word, she reached into her pocket and pulled out Grayson’s yellow band. She knelt down, her massive frame suddenly so small beside Ren, and gently placed the band in the child’s trembling hands.
Ren looked up at Sevika, eyes full of questions. But before anything could be said, Silco emerged from the shadows, his eyes gleaming with a dangerous intensity. He was flanked by his men, their faces grim and cold, and at the center of it all was Marcus.
He was barely recognizable—his face a mangled mess of bruises and blood. He was dragged forward, forced to his knees in the dirt where Grayson had fallen. The sight of him brought Sevika to her feet, her fists clenched tight. You could see the battle raging inside her, the desire to end him right then and there, but she held back.
"Look at him," he began, his tone soft, almost conversational, as if he were discussing something trivial. "A man who betrayed the very community that kept him protected him fed and protected. Who left nothing but the ashes of his own cowardice."
He walked slowly around Marcus, like a predator circling its prey. "This is the price of betrayal, the cost of thinking you can stand in the way of what must be done. You all know him," Silco continued, addressing the crowd that had gathered, their eyes fixed on the broken man at his feet. "You know his face, his uniform, his lies. But you must also know this: in a world where there are no second chances, there are no second thoughts."
Silco’s voice grew harder, colder, as he leaned down close to Marcus’s ear. "Your cowardice, your betrayal, a mistake that cost how many lives today? And now, you will pay the price for that."
The words hung in the air, heavy and final, and Marcus’s body shuddered, knowing what was coming. Silco straightened, his eyes scanning the crowd. "Let this be a lesson to all who would think to cross us, to cross me. There is no forgiveness in this world, only retribution."
You don’t know what happened next, because you’re taking Ren into your arms and you’re moving – away from the crowd, away from the punishment that you know her father will face.
Ren clings to you, burying her face in your chest, and you hold her close, wishing you could shield her from all of this. "What’s happening to Daddy?" she asks, her voice muffled by your shirt. "And Grayson?"
You didn’t have an answer. The only thing you could do was hold her tighter, trying to block out the screams, the fire, the blood.
Time passes, the night dragging on in a blur of grief. Inside the house, the silence was deafening. You had scrubbed the blood from Ren’s skin, but it still lingered in the air, the scent of death refusing to leave. Grayson’s face kept flashing before your eyes, her last breath, her last words, the way her body crumpled in Sevika’s arms.
And now, as you stared out the window, you saw them—Silco’s men, forming a straight, omnious line as they marched out into the night. At the center of it all was a giant wooden cross, and tied to it was Marcus. His head hung low, his body limp, but he was still alive.
Your breath caught in your throat when Sevika looked up at the window. For a moment, your eyes locked, and you saw nothing in her gaze but a cold, empty challenge. The Sevika you knew wasn’t there, but replaced by someone who had buried whatever was left of her soul beneath layers of survival and duty. She turns away, breaking the gaze as she climbed into the backseat of a vehicle. You watch as the trucks disappeared into the night until the only thing you could see was the small form of the cross.
The night presses in around you, heavy with loss, and you wonder if anything would ever feel whole again.
Hello! I just found your blog and oh my god I’m obsessed and I’ve read everything
Can I request some fluffy lucifer and Lilith x fem reader who’s really sweet and ultra feminine? Like 9/10 she’s always wearing a dress or a skirt long or short doesn’t matter, loves doing her makeup and doing her hair? and puts hella effort into her appearance on the daily not for her husband and wife but just for herself and because she can?
Lucifer X Reader X Lilith [Comfort]
In which you're as feminine as they come, and both Lucifer and Lilith adore that trait in you.
Lilith likes having you around, because since Charlie grew up theres been a bit of a hole of girl time in her schedule
Being able to give you advice and go to only the best spas in hell, leaving Lucifer behind to enjoy some company time
One of the best parts is when you do her makeup, she always does yours because she was trained from her dancer days, but when you do hers its so gentle
Telling her the purpose of each tool even if she's heard it a million times, each colour and shade, and the small peck you give her when you're done
Lilith is especially amazing with hair, and after helping you doll yourself up for the day its nice to get a good thirty minutes in just stroking through your well maintained hair and decide what'd frame your outfit best
Sometimes when she does your lipstick, she puts it on her and kisses it onto you to give it what she calls 'a faded makeout session look'
Well, it looks good, so who are you to complain
On the other hand, Lucifer is big on fashion and always makes sure he looks like he is making a statement, so he always bring syou back clothes which he has a tailor fix to your exact curve
He always tries to match with you but Lilith tells him off because she doesnt want you to match whatever santa clause aesthetic he has going on
The public loves you, marked as the newest and hottest addition tot heir relationship, which they encourage and tell you about
Lilith will bring you to her magazine shoots and insist only you can style her makeup and hair, though unfortunately they always draw the line at clothes
She thinks you'd dress her better than whatever they do
Charlie is also happy you wormed your way into their hearts, because you are a lot less intensive than her biological parents, and she appreciates how much you visit her
When you suggest Charlie join you and Lilith for some getaways, they both love the idea, so now you get some mothers to daughter time
Author's Note - Back to writing I am actually writing from the airport atm because I am heading back home for christmas! I will have a ton of time to write during that time, since I have now wrapped up my exams. Lucky me! I am 3 pina coladas in and ready for takeoff 🛫
Ayyways, thank you for requesting these two, I actually love poly with them so much and there is not enough of it out there (I would know, I read it all), so I hope I met your expectations 🖤
Subtle-tea (Benedict Bridgerton x Reader)
Summary/Prompt: “You’re only semi-lucid and are sort of reaching for my face, and for various reasons I shouldn’t kiss YOUR face but your hand is right here and I still need to convey affection.” AKA. You and Benedict drink too much of Colin’s special tea and it spurs you to act upon previously hidden feelings.
AN: Benedict is the bee’s knees, just a silly lil art guy. I got inspired and I’ve got two more Benedict fics coming out rip. But it’s just so difficult to write for Bridgerton cus you can’t write any gay stuff without it being tragic and/or a secret. Oh well, don’t expect me to write much more female reader content of my own volition/not inspired by my friends.
Content warnings: Reader uses she/her, use of Y/N and L/N, is referred to as “wife”
Masterlist // AO3
You had no idea what on Earth was in that tea. But you would have to ask later, because currently you felt as light as a feather and giddy as a giggle, laying on the sofa in the art studio as Benedict was launching himself between two walls, orating about his great desires to create. By far, you were experiencing the greatest emotions on the whim of your artistic associate.
“There’s just so many colours that we are privy to, and we take every single shade for granted!” He declared, his arms wide open to the heavens.
You pointed at him in an accusing manner, “Have you seen purple recently? It’s glorious! No wonder it was the colour of status in the Roman Empire, I too would want it all for myself and my friends.”
“How selfish you are, Miss L/N,” Benedict scolded, “Surely everyone should be given the chance to wear such a colour.”
His anger faded fast. As endearing as it was, it was nothing compared to that grin of his. So naturally you decided to make him smile even more with a ridiculous notion that just jumped into your woozy mind.
“Do you know what would happen if my mother knew where I was?” You said in a loud whisper.
Benedict pouted and nodded, riddled with pantomime guilt as he leant over, “You. Me. In a room. Alone.”
“Unchaperoned,” You said then gasped, your hands clapping against your cheeks in shock, “I would be ruined!”
Benedict mimicked your appal by dropping to his knees before you, “We would have to marry to save your reputation!”
“Imagine me, your wife!” You threw your head back as you flashed your bare left hand to him. Somewhere in the back of your mind, an inhibition screamed at you to stop lingering so openly on something your sober self was set on not happening
But your heart grew gleeful as Benedict grasped your hand gently.
“I shall imagine it!” He declared and lowered his lips, and planted a loud kiss upon your knuckle - right where the engagement and wedding bands would sit. You lowered your chin just in time to see this with your own eyes before Benedict met your gaze again, still beaming with roguish delight, “Oh what a beautiful imagining it is.”
Your legs curled up beneath you on the couch, and you fell over in hysterical giggling. You clasped your hand to your chest and cradled it like a newborn. As you lay sprawled out, Benedict popped into your field of view with his hands either side of your head, tactfully avoiding your hair.
“Your laugh is like music! As your husband, it would be my purpose to make you sing at least once a day.”
“Then kiss me again, you silly man!” You squealed, offering your hand once more.
Balancing on one arm, and completely unaware that this compromising position was aiding in your dizzy frenzy, Benedict kissed the same spot then turned the palm against his cheek. He held it there as he said:
“Look, it’s like you were sculpted to hold me.”
Euphoria ran riot across your body, your heart beating so fast you thought you would die from delight.
“And you were carved to be held by me.” From your vantage point, with newly founded confidence, you tried to pull his lips down to yours, but Benedict resisted.
“We shall not kiss ‘til we are married.”
Eyes wide, you squeezed the back of his neck to keep him close, “Is this a proposal?”
“I do not think we are in the right state of mind to make rational decisions,” and Benedict bumped his nose to yours, causing a little laughter before continuing: “But marrying you is the sanest idea I’ve had all evening.”
Ghost Of A Memory
Pairing: Dad!Rafe Cameron x Reader
Warnings: Loss of a Spouse During Childbirth and Grief
Pronouns: She/Her
Word Count: 0.9K
Summary: All Rafe wants are memories of his family, but sometimes he has to remind himself that he can't have that.
Masterlist
The warm summer sun glows across Rafe’s pale skin, kissing it so that it will soon tan his skin a darker shade. Laughter fills the air and a sappy smile falls on Rafe’s face as his eyes fall on the sight of his wife and daughter on the playground. Hannah is climbing the ladder on a mission to go down the slide again; Y/N is waiting for her baby girl at the bottom of the slide to catch her. Hannah plops her butt onto the plastic contraption and squeals in delight as she zooms toward her mother. He finishes laying out the sandwiches on the plates and calls out to his girls, “Lunch is ready.” Y/N keeps her daughter in her arms, taking them both to the picnic blanket, where their lunch is laid out on it. “Salami, tomato, arugula and garlic cream cheese for me. Cheese and lettuce for Little Lady. And turkey, lettuce, tomato, and Havarti for my love,” Rafe announces, pointing to everyone’s meal as he lists the ingredients. Y/N leans forward to kiss his cheek, “Thank you for getting this all ready, Handsome.” Rafe’s cheeks warm like they always do at the nickname. It’s such a basic nickname, but coming from her, it makes him feel like he can do a thousand backflips one after the other. Hannah throws herself into her dad’s arms with her own thank you directed towards him.
The family finishes their food and Hannah is invited to play ball with a boy around her age. Y/N rests her head on Rafe’s shoulder as they both watch their daughter play with her new friend. “I think we should have another one,” she whispers to him. He beams at the idea and presses his lips to her temple, “I think I would love to have another one. Maybe a little boy with your hair and my eyes this time.” “Hmm, that sounds like a great idea,” she agrees. Hannah lets out a scream in delight, except the longer it goes on, the more it starts to sound like a cry.
———
Rafe wakes up with a jerk into a sitting position. He rubs his eyes with the palms of his hands as he looks around the dark room. Hannah stands in her crib in the corner of the room, rattling against the bars with her cries. Her father swings his feet over the side of the bed and pads over to her. She reaches her arms up toward him and he picks her up. He brings her to his chest, letting her nuzzle his neck. “Shh, it’s okay. I’m right here, Little Lady,” he soothes. He bounces in hopes of providing her with some sort of comfort. He is so tired, yet he can’t go back to sleep because it seems as though Hannah doesn’t want to sleep. He presses his lips against her forehead, “Please, Little Lady, go back to sleep. Daddy is tired.” He tries to see if she is hungry and quickly learns that she isn’t. “What can I give you so you can go to sleep?” he begs, picking up her stuffed penguin. The penguin is rejected, so he tries offering her blankie. Hannah screeches and throws it on the ground in dissatisfaction. His eyes dart around the room in search of anything that will appease the bebe. Finally, he spots what he thinks is going to cease the crying.
He picks up the fading navy zip-up sweater and wraps it around his daughter's shoulders. The nine-month-old immediately calms, snuggling into the fabric of the hoodie. Rafe sighs, “I know. I miss her too.” He sits in the rocking chair opposite the crib. He looks at the empty spot on the bed beside his, drawing in the figure that should be there for himself. The woman creating a dip in the bed sits up and gives him a lazy smile. “Did she wake up? I don’t know how I slept through her cries. Is she hungry?” Y/N mumbles, standing from the bed. Her footsteps drag against the floor to stand in front of them. He grins up at her, “It’s okay. I figured out what she wanted. It was your Chapel Hill sweater.” He lifts Hannah up a bit so Y/N can see the school logo on the back. “That makes sense,” she agrees. “She’s always been a Mama’s girl.” Rafe chuckles, “So true. I can’t blame her though. She has a pretty amazing mom.” Y/N leans over to kiss her family members and he closes his eyes to embrace the feeling, but just as her skin is supposed to make contact with his, the daydream he is creating for himself dissolves. Instead of the feeling of her lips, he gets a kiss from the wind and he opens his eyes with furrowed eyebrows.
The room is void of any other human being, except for Hannah in his arms. He looks over to the other side of his bed and finds it empty. Likes it has been for the last nine months. The room lacks air and Rafe begins to hyper-ventilate. His immediate thought is to get up to look for the missing link in the room. And then he finally remembers that his dreams can only ever be the ghost of a memory he never gets to make because the love of his life never made it out of the hospital with their baby girl.
kinktober day 1 — car sex with heeseung
nsfw content minors dni.
Pairing racer!hee x afab!reader
Warnings profanity, kissing, alcohol consumption, fingering, one night stand(?), french kissing, hee calls reader 'pretty girl' and 'baby', reader moans alot (lmao), not fully proofread
Requested @ anon
Word count 1.6k
Kinktober masterlist — here
You didn't fail to notice the glances that the ace racer gave you ever since the after-party started.
Heeseung has won the race. As always.
You had originally come to support Beomgyu, all because you best friend is dating him. You don't really like all these illegal racing shit anyways. You always thought they were nothing but a time waste, not really worth it in the long run.
But, your best friend had been begging — almost to the point where she got on her knees — to convince you to watch a race with her. Just one. She's been at it for months; ever since her and Beongyu got together, she went to all of the race he participated in, and she would try to convince you to accompany her.
After a month of pleading, you finally said yes, but only for once.
As you made your way to the track, your best friend filled you in on who are competing and who go to just watch and have fun at the after-party. Your eyes widened a bit when you noticed the crowd formed. You and your best friend find the best spots to spectate the race from, courtesy of Beomgyu of course.
There were three cars lines at the start, one red, black and yellow. Your best friend had mentioned that Beomgyu was the owner of the yellow one. Each car looked expensive as fuck. You wouldn't be able to afford a single one of these, in your lifetime.
After the race was over — the red car driver had won by the way — everyone gathered around the rather tall man who came out of that gorgeous piece of metal.
"Hah, of course Heeseung has won the race." Your best friend exclaimed. "He is like the ace in everything. Wouldn't be surprised if he's like- you know absolute sexy in bed."
"Ew, " I grimaced. "You are dating missy, how can you say that?"
"Oh. I'm speaking for you honey, he'll be into you."
"Yeah whatever. Not interested." You gave her a pointed look, "He's probably like one of those snobs who's like so full of them themselves 'cause his ego get boosted twenty four by seven."
You didn't get a response from your best friend because Beomgyu — who had come second — had shown up, dragging her away to the mini club nearby where the party was being held. Shaking your head, you give the man of the talk one lady glance, only to see him groping a woman's ass as she most likely components him and tries to get in his pants. Ignoring the feeling inside, you maybe way to the club with your best friend and her boyfriend.
And that brings you here. Seated at the bar, downing a hangover-inducing drink.
You walked in with your best friend but soon after some alcohol consumption and very scandalous dancing to explicit songs, she has disappeared. With her man. You don't even want to know what was happening with her right now.
You nonchalantly scan the bar, putting your drink on the bar counter. Your heart thumped a bit more loudly as you met eyes with Heeseung. His lips carried a smirk add he looked at you through his eyelashes, making eye contact as he took a sip of his drink.
He looks at you with a small smirk. You can't help but internally gag. You will admit that he looks hot, his blond hair with a faded blue shade. His olive skin looked a bit glossy from the lights of the club. His Adam's apple bobbing as he downed his drink in a single gulp.
He locks eyes with you as he makes his way to you. It's as if time has slowed down, it's only you and him. The music blasting in the room has gotten muffled somehow. He gets incredibly close to you. Noses grazing each other, eyes piercing eyes. Then, his lips turn that smirk wider.
You can feel the heat radiating off his body and his musky scent sends you into a frenzy, but you try to stay unaffected.
"hey." He calls out, head tilting to the side as he takes your appearance in. He couldn't help biting his lips when he saw you in the tight pink dress, covering almost absolutely nothing. Your bust is almost out for the world to see, arousing him; and your cute little thigh keeps him out of focus, thinking of all the things he could do to you in just one night.
"I'm Heeseung." He smiles at you putting out his hand. Your heart fucking melted at the site of his smile. He is mostly on the sexy side of the personality you would say, lips always in a coy expression, his hair styled and that delicious looking neck inviting you to just simple liter kiss and marks all around it. He's dressed in a basic tee and jeans, but the racer jacket he is wearing, only adds to his 'fuckboy' aura, but something about his smile tells you that he's not all the hard and tough acts he keeps for everyone to see.
"I know." He only chuckles at your remark, taking another impossible step closer to you, hand going to your chin and thumb grazing across your lip. He stares at it like he wants to kiss it, ruin that gloss your wearing. "You must be Y/n right."
"How'd you know?" your brows furrowed.
"Beomgyu told me about you." Of course he did, you internally roll your eyes. You know you said that Heeseung is a bit overrated; but the way he is looking at you right now, like he wants to kiss you and how good he can make you feel, only gets you wondering what he really is like in bed.
"can I kiss you, pretty girl?" he asks you, bringing your face closer to his using the grip on your chin. And when you don't say anything, he leans in, super slowly, meeting your lips in a kiss.
The kiss felt calm but rushed at the same time. It felt like... he had been wanting to do this for a little while. caught up in the euphoria of it all, you press your palm against his nape, the other one going to his bicep that flexed under your touch. Fuck.
His hands wrap at your waist and pull you closer to his body, hips meeting. He requests for entrance and you allow him, tongues lapping up at each other fighting for dominance.
What in the fuck are you doing? You don't know and you blame the alcohol, but it feels way too good to stop right now.
"Do you trust me pretty girl?" He asks in between wet kisses on your neck. You whimper lightly at the sensation, tugging on his roots, "No, not really."
He lets out a deep throaty chuckle before pulling away but still holding you close to himself. "Come with me. I know where we can have fun without getting disturbed." His smirk widens.
You couldn't stop the moans that spilled out of you as you both humped against each other in Heeseung's sexy car. Your mind is going crazy thinking about how hot and hard is member is.
"fuck baby, You feel so good." Heeseung slurs from under you. You lean into him, face into the crook of his neck, pressing open mouthed kisses against the supple skin.
"Touch me, hee." you moan, and Heeseung thinks he'll be close to cumming in his pants if you speak like that, "Fuck baby. Of course." His lips meet yours into a messy and wet kiss. Hands going to the dress zipper on you back taking it off. His eyes turn boba shaped because of the view. Fuck, where have you been? He thinks to himself.
His hands roam all over your body, goosebumps rising in its wake. "You're driving me crazy, pretty girl." he rasps before his hand seeps lower and lower, reaching the hem of your underwear.
"Can I touch you, pretty girl?" He asks as he gently glides his thumb under the hem. You sigh leaning back, head meeting the headrest of the passenger seat. His fingers seep inside, eliciting a whimper from your lips as you clench around nothing. Hoping it was his dick your were sitting on.
You hold onto his forearms as he glides his digits across your lips, spreading your slick around. You bite your lower lip in anticipation, rolling your hips forward letting him know you want more. And he obliges, his index finger pushes past your lips into your clenching velvet-like walls. "Fuck baby you're so tight with just my finger. How will you be manage to take my dick huh?"
His words make you clench, resulting him to grunt softly. You take a long breath morphing into a moan as he fastens the pace. You practically scream at the top of your lungs at this point. "Heeseung! Fuck yes!"
He get too aroused with your moaning and clenching and that oh so beautiful fucked out face. He determines to get you to cum. It's his new favourite thing now. To pleasure you. "Hee!" you moan as you come undone. Slick sound audible as he get you through your high.
You giggle lightly at the ecstasy you're experiencing. Pulling him in for a kiss. He takes his hand out of your mound and put his fingers into his mouth, all the while maintaining eye contact with you. You blush uncontrollably at the sight whining for him to stop. "Seriously Heeseung, stop it."
"You taste too good baby." You mouth can't form any words and it doesn't matter 'cause he pulls you in a messy kiss, tasting yourself.
"how was that?" He asks you, softly rubbing the outside of your thighs. You smile, "It was really good." He hums in contentment.
"Now, it's my turn."
Should've Known
When fate made them stumble across each other in an art shop, Y/n should've known that what was coming with Klaus couldn't be anything more than an affair because of her true identity. And yet when she fled town, Y/n hadn't expected the news of a grave mistake made by Klaus' own town to shatter her heart into so many pieces that she’d just let them lay.
Warnings - mentions of death, and a description of an intimate moment. Word Count - 1.3k
I'm so sorry but here I am, serving you guys with another two part-er (I deeply apologise) Part two should be out withing two days and eeek I'm so excited to write it! Hope you all enjoy this one until then <3
Update: You can now read part two here!
This was the second time that their eyes had locked since Y/n had entered the shop, and their mouths instinctively shared a smile once again. Klaus quite simply couldn’t stop looking at her, she was so mesmerising that he wished she didn’t keep catching him every time his eyes would drift onto her to drink in her dreamy sight.
Her hair was half up and half down, intricate patterns designed like a labyrinth with the sinister intent to hypnotise the one looking, which Klaus very easily was. His eyes trailed down further and met with her eyes, only they were looking down at something while a small frown sat between her brows. Her nose led him lower and then his gaze landed on her mouth, on her lips that looked so pillowy and compelling, their corners lifting up in a smile making Klaus lift up his eyes with a defeated smile that gave away his realisation that he’d been caught staring again.
She shook her head, a soft laugh escaping her mouth before she went over to the elderly man to pay him for the art supplies she’d collected. She was a piece of art herself, Klaus thought as he saw her leaving but not before passing him a last smile.
He came back to that art shop more and more frequently then, hoping to see her there but returned home every single time with disappointment weighing his heart lower and lower into his stomach. He just wished to see her again, and again, and again. She was all that was on his mind and with her portrait beginning to lose colour in his memory, he was pathetically desperate to see her again.
But as he went inside the shop again for the insurmountable time, Klaus’ nose caught a scent that immediately made his eyes light up. This was her fragrance and once his gaze had lifted, it immediately landed on her already looking and very gently waving at him.
Klaus smiled at that, focusing his attention on the floor for a bit as he tried to hide his blush and giddiness at finally seeing her again. She looked the same, if not even more alluring because of the green coloured clothing she was dressed in, the colour fading into different shades as her dress poofed and flowed down to meet the ground.
He nodded at her, his smile not once leaving his mouth as he picked up a set of paint brushes to buy along with a paint set of which the colours fit her appearance the most – which had him staring at her again and again to make sure he wouldn’t mess up any hue. On the other end, Y/n picked a sketchbook and a set of pencils before going back to the front to pay for it.
Klaus came out soon after her, watching as she paid and left the shop. Klaus hurried to pay for his stuff as well, rushing outside to not miss her, only to find her standing there, waiting for him with the slyest of smiles he’d ever seen.
As if their eyes had spoken for a brief moment, Klaus’ feet began following hers down the dirt trail that led to a large field bordering a shimmering river. Neither of them uttered a single word on the way, only Y/n glancing back every once in a while to make sure Klaus was still with her.
It was when Y/n sat herself down by the river when she looked up at him and patted the spot beside her, “come sit,” she added, her voice so soft that Klaus instantly obliged.
“I’d like to get to know you,” she said, looking him in the eyes with the purest of looks. “Tell me, do you paint as well?”
Klaus looked ahead of him, a smile stretching his lips as he nodded. “Yes,” he whispered, as if maintaining the peace they had surrounding them. “I don’t think I would survive if I ever stopped,” continuing, he looked back at her only to find her beginning a sketch.
But that didn’t stop her from confabulating further with him. They talked until the sun had begun setting and Y/n suggested it best that they parted ways and reached home before it got entirely dark. She’d mirrored Klaus’ sad expression before she’d leaned in to press a kiss to his cheek, which had him profusely blushing.
“Meet me here again, if you decide that perhaps, I didn’t tire you so much of myself,” she’d laughed, allowing Klaus to pull her up from the ground and telling him that he should come if he wanted to see the sketch so badly, earning a laugh from him.
Since that day, they’d met up several other times to share long walks and steal sweet kisses from eachother. They had officially been meeting up for a fortnight when they shared a bed, his skin on hers without any barrier as they relished in eachother’s warmth erotically enough to make them lose their breaths.
Their meetups had admittedly been growing more and more frequent until that night, and from then on, they found themselves meeting everyday, doing everything and nothing away from all prying eyes.
But the prying eyes were slowly turning into suspicious gazes as the news about Vampires spread in the town and Klaus was growing more and more tense that they were going to take Y/n away from him and stake her, bringing anxiety into their relationship but she always managed to make him forget about his worries every time he met with her, which now happened after longer time periods because of the dark fate looming over them like dark clouds.
Long gone were the days spent down by the river, hidden in long grass or camouflaged among wildflowers. Now they met up under the blindness of the night sky, moonlight directing to them their paths to each other and Klaus would end up sobbing in her neck almost every single time while she mumbled sweet nothings into his ear, telling him that she’d forever stay with him in the sketchbooks he had filled up to the brims with her portraits.
On their last night together, she’d told him that she’d always be watching over him from the same dark sky that they were laying under and usher to him her stories through the winds. She’d kissed on every inch of his body, every muscle that flexed under her touch and every spot on his face, letting him kiss her lips until neither of them could breath and their mouths hurt. Until she’d come undone under him and he’d fallen on top of her with the faintest tears brimming on the rims of his eyes.
“I love you, Niklaus Mikaelson. I always have, and I always will,” she whispered and pressed her mouth against his to punctuate her promise. She couldn’t understand why she was so hurt – this was just an affair, something that couldn’t last forever because she was a vampire and her lover was a human.
She should’ve seen their paths diverging a long time ago, and yet, another tear slipped past her eyes and into her ear.
“Always and forever?” Klaus questioned her, his tears mixing with hers as he rested his forehead on hers. And when she nodded with the saddest and littlest smile on her mouth, Klaus knew it was time to go.
Y/n had stayed there a little longer, reminiscing over her life before she sped out of town under everyone’s sniffing noses.
But on his walk home, Kaus had walked into an alley where the men with lit pitchforks lighting their sight had put their suspecting gazes on him, believing that he was one of the Vampires making one of them shoot him out of the sheer freight that Klaus might’ve drained them of blood if he didn’t act fast enough.
And when the news reached Y/n, she heard her dead heart shatter into so many pieces that she just decided to let them lay instead of picking them up piece by piece to put together an ugly heart that had its love taken from it.
୭ ˚. ᵎᵎ it is the first part of a two parts story !
here is the second part : 𝐍𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 ᴘᴛ 2
You can't stop looking at him.
No matter how much you try, your eyes always end up on him.
It's like a spell, that can't be removed.
You spend most of your time looking at his dark brown braided hair, often tied up, adorned with pretty orange and brown wooden beads here and there. At his mesmerizing eyes, a sort of yellow with a green undertone, a color which you could spend the day looking at. At his hands, different from yours because of the extra finger, but even more attractive in your opinion. Or at his―
"Y/N !"
You quickly snap out of your trance, at the sound of your friend's voice. You turn your head to look at her, only to be meet by a suspicious gaze, and a raised eyebrow. She squints her eyes for a moment as she scans your face, before sighing.
"What're you thinking about ?" She asks, as she let her gaze go back to the wooden pestle and mortar she has in her hands.
You shake your head. "Ke'u." You mutter, as you, too, let your gaze go back to the same type of pestle and mortar you have in your hands.
She lifts once again her head to look at you. "C'mon, y/n. Tell me what's wrong." She lets go of the instruments, placing her hand on your leg, as she tries to gain your attention. "For the past few weeks, you've been completely lost in your thoughts, staring at I don't know what, during every training sessions we had." She waits for a moment, before continuing. "You have something in your mind, that has been there for weeks, already. Right ?" She asks, watching you with soft eyes.
Your ears lower slightly, as you sigh heavily. Your gaze shifts to the entrance of the healing hut, from where you can see the outside. Of course, you look at him, again. Lo'ak. Oh Eywa, how much you would do to just be outside, with him. But you're not with him, neither outside. You're stuck in this hut, making the same ointments all day, every day, just like Mo'at has requested. It's pure torture.
As for your friend, she follows your gaze, leaning a few inches to watch the outside with you. She frowns. Why are you looking at this group of skxawng, like that ? Are you looking at something behind ? She shakes her head. No. There is nothing, over there. So, are you looking at Ka'ani ? Ikyu ? Rakxvu ? Lo'ak― Her eyes widen. Now, she understands.
"Are you in love with… Lo'ak ?" She whispers the name of her brother, placing her hand over her mouth, as she tries to cover the playful smile on her lips.
Your eyes widen, your usually dark-blue face fading to a purplish shade. You lightly slap your friend's shoulder, before covering your face with your hands. "Do not say it like that, Kiri." You complain in the palm of your hands, your tail nervously brushing the ground behind you. "It is embarrassing." You mumble.
She chuckles. "Don't be embarrassed. I think it's cute." She says, nudging your side teasingly. "But, I don't think he deserves you. He's too much… immature. And oblivious." She mumbles. "You could offer him the most beautiful things on Eywa'eveng, every day, he would just say irayo and walk away―" Her eyes suddenly widen, a gleam of realization in it, as she grips your forearm. "Is it why you've not stopped offering him stxeli, ever since you were 10 ?" She asks, her voice slightly shocked.
You nod slowly, pressing your lips in a thin line. "I thought that it could be a good idea. But he just… does not seem to understand." You chuckle awkwardly, as you take back the pestle and mortar in your hands, continuing to make your ointment. "He is being completely blind to it." You sigh, out of desperation.
"Y/n, you're 14. It has been going on for years !" Kiri says, as she mimics you, going back to making the ointment, too. Her movements are even stronger than yours, increasing with each passing second. "You should tell him how you feel. You can't live like that, in the hope that one day he'll notice that you're in love with him. Don't forget that Lo'ak is a skxawng. He'll never, never notice."
You chuckle again. "I do not know, Kiri. I do not think he likes me the way I like him. I do not want to make a fool of myself." You say quietly, sighing once again.
She shakes her head. "Don't say that. You can't know if you didn't try." She answers, before a small smile appears on her lips.
Kiri puts her instruments down on the ground, before getting up. She looks down at you, still making the same ointment. She knows that you're beginning to be frustrated with it. Really frustrated. You've been spending your day on it ― since the sun rose, and it's already the middle of the afternoon, but you're far from finished. You'll probably still be there after the ukyom, maybe even hours after.
Your ears are more than low on your head, and small wrinkles have appeared above your nose ― between the two blue spots just over your eyes, similar to tawtute eyebrows. Or Lo'ak eyebrows. You can't stop frowning, out of annoyance or concentration. You don't even know. All that you know, is that your patience is growing thinner, more and more each seconds.
As for Kiri, her smile only widens. She has a plan.
Lo'ak is just out there, a few feet away from the hut. If only she could convince you that it's the best moment to confess your feelings, and then make you meet him by this evening ― before their family leaves, but this, you don't know it, it would be perfect.
She giggles internally.
Kiri holds out her hand for you to take. "Kä, let's take a break."
You stop your movements, lifting your head up to look at her. You hesitate for a moment, internally fighting for what you should do. Mo'at will probably give you a lecture because you left the hut without her knowledge, or because you didn't finish the ointments in time. She'll find something. She always finds something.
You sigh, putting the instruments on the ground. You take your friend's hand, standing up on your feet. You then stretch, all the muscles in your body being sore due to the sitting positions you spent hours in.
You nod, smiling. "It could be good. I am growing insane." You chuckle softly, as you start walking towards the exit.
She giggles at your answer, walking at your side. "I saw that."
You and Kiri have been walking together around the clan, talking about everything ― except for ointments, healing trainings, and anything that is related to the tsahìk, from near and far.
The fresh air going by the Hallelujah mountains' caves' system seems to had calmed you down in only a few minutes, your growing headache progressively disappearing ever since you stepped out of the healing hut. Thanks Eywa, you don't know if you could have survived another day with a headache.
You really like moments like that. When everything his peaceful.
"KIRI !"
Until it's not.
Your friend lets out a low hiss at the loud ― too loud, call of her name, mumbling something that you can't understand, before turning around to face her brother. You do the same as her a second later, looking at him.
He stops in front of the both of you, a small smile on his lips.
Eywa, he is so handsome.
"Hey, y/n." He says with a smile, before turning his gaze to his sister. "Are you coming to Nìa's party tonight ?"
"Kehe. I don't like her." She answers directly, crossing her arms over her chest. "Why are you asking that ?" She raises an eyebrow, squinting her eyes.
He chuckles awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand. "I don't have anybody to go with. Neteyam is at Tìhi's for the night, and all my friends are going with their girls." He mumbles. "Dad don't want me to go if I don't have someone he knows with me." He looks back at us. "I don't want to go alone. I feel ashamed."
Kiri turns her head to look at you, a mischievous smile on her face. Her plan might not be the same, but this will work exactly the same. As long as you confess your feelings before tomorrow morning, any way suits her.
She looks back at her brother.
"Y/n wanted to go to Nìa's party, too." She says, a smile on her face.
You widen your eyes. "I never―" You try saying, before being cut off.
"Really ?" Lo'ak asks, looking straight into your eyes.
You blush, alternating your gaze between his eyes, hesitating. You can't miss that, this is the opportunity. "Oh… um… Yes. But I do not have someone to go with, just like you." You say, chuckling shyly.
His smile widens, showing his fangs. "Then, let's go together." He takes a step back, his friends calling him. "Meet me at the spot under the waterfall, in two hours." He winks, a grin on his face. "See you later, syulang." He shouts, before walking away.
"See you later…" You whisper, but only you can hear.
You stand there, looking at the space where Lo'ak was, just a minute before. It looks like a dream. You're going to Nìa's party ― known as the best of the clan, with Lo'ak, the boy you secretly love. Oh Eywa, thank you for your kindness, you thought.
You then turn to look at Kiri, a silly smile on your face. You take her in your arms, burying your face in the crook of her neck.
"Irayo, Kiri." You say against her skin, before placing a kiss on her cheek. "I am going to get ready, see you tomorrow !" You shout, running to your marui.
"Yeah, see you again…" She whispers to herself.
Is he already there ? You ask yourself.
You've tried to get about twenty minutes ahead, to be sure that Lo'ak won't wait for you. The spot he told you to go to is famous inside your clan, it's a beautiful spot to hangout with you friends ― or lover, but it's a bit far from your village. That's why you need to get ahead.
A big smile you can't suppress is on your face. The last time you were that much excited was when your big brother passed his Iknimaya, and you were just ten. You just can't wait to see Lo'ak, you thought.
You walk through the forest, twigs crackling under your feet. The air is warm, but not too warm, just the perfect temperature. The sun is slowly going down, diffusing a soft purplish light which reflect on your dark blue skin. You love when the eclipse is coming, everything seems even more beautiful than usual.
You're so focused on the flowers around you, that you didn't realized you were arrived at the spot, after a few minutes walk. You turn your gaze, noticing a figure standing a few feet in front of you. It's probably Lo'ak. You smile, about to reveal yourself to him, before hearing a voice. A female voice. You automatically stop your movements, your smile fading away.
"I do not like you going with... her, at my party." She says, as you try seeing her, but Lo'ak's body hide her from your gaze.
"I know." He answers quietly. "But she's the perfect diversion." He shifts is weight from one leg to another, allowing you to see the both of them clearly. Nìa an Lo'ak facing each other. You frown at his sentence. What does he mean ? Is he talking about you ?
"I feel ashamed seeing you with y/n. She is a snaytu." She mutters, pouting slightly, as she lowers her gaze. Your ears twitch at the sound of your name, follow by the insult. You feel a lump forming in your throat. Why is she so mean ?
He chuckes. "Kind of." He takes a step closer to her, gently cupping her cheek with his hand. "You know that you're the one I love, not her. I just have to go with her, like that my father can't blame me for something. He likes her." He then places his lips on hers, kissing her softly, as she kisses him back.
You look at the scene in front of you, freezing.
The lump in your throat increases, you feel like throwing up.
Tears start to flow down your cheek, more and more, without you being able to stop them. You place your hand on your mouth, trying to muffle your sobs, in vain. The noises get their attention, but they don't even have the time to turn around, as you're already running away.
Lo'ak thinks that of you ? Does everyone think that of you ?
You've spent so much years making gift for him, helping him, crying for him, loving him. So much for that. You're just a loser, an idiot, thinking that a boy like him could ever love someone like you.
You continue crying, not even trying to be silent, as you run through the forest. It hurts, it hurts so much. Why does it hurts like that ?
Why love hurts ?
A/N: Not me remembering halfway through the writing that Deuce is really shy around girls uuh And as usual, I got stuck halfway through it because I'm dumb and rushed the smut because I had enough of struggling with it >:(
A/N2: So many words *crying*
• F!Reader; Deuce; Ace
• 〔 ! 〕Smut; Virgin (Deuce); Creampie; Shower Sex; Grammatical errors; Not proofread
17.5k words
Ace was mindlessly grumbling with acknowledgement at each of his current potionology partner's criticism, not caring one bit of the way Deuce was condemning him fooling around with the prefect with a shaky and awkward tone —if he had taken the time to look at him, he would've seen the blush painting his whole face red as he tried to keep up the persona of a model student. It was out of character coming from the red-haired, him, who was already known throughout his dorm, despite the year having just started, for teasing the poor Spade whom he always hung out with for one reason or another.
Across the room, switching her attention over to the teacher quite regularly to see if he ever approached as to warn her own partner who was lazing on their shared desk, the prefect of the Ramshackle dorm was stirring the ingredients of the potion with great care, the color slowly switching from a dark and desaturated blue to a beautiful pastel green. She seemed to be pretty focused as she didn't appear to feel the eyes of her friend burning holes inside her back. Was he even a friend? What was he to her? What should she call him? There was nothing official between them, no feelings for them to be dating and, yeah they had sex the day before and a few hours back, first thing in the morning at that, but could she really call him her sex friend? She didn't know if they were even friends! He was kind of overbearing, especially when mocking her. She couldn't forget the many comments he would make, which would always hit bullseye, directly stirring up her insecurities. He was also intimidating in more ways than one, and she didn't see herself constantly seeking sex with someone she was kind of scared of in the near future.
Anyhow, she seemed to lack some basic and common instincts as she was blissfully unaware of the boy that was looking at her up and down, watching the small trail of cum dripping along her leg, which made her softly squirm as she discreetly moved to wipe it off with the hem of her skirt. He eventually sighed as he pushed himself off his desk before turning around on his chair, finally facing Deuce who was still going on and on about how his and the prefect's actions were not to be done on school ground, especially not in a prestigious school like the one they were attending, and that they should at least hide it and learn not to mix their school life with their private one.
"Why you' so obsessed with me and the prefect? You're jealous?" It was meant to be a playful teasing, just a tiny little one meant to stop him from uselessly blabbering his mouth off to him over an irrelevant scolding. But the sight of the blushing boy, only now seeing the horrible flushing on his face, made Ace stop dead in his tracks, his boyish smile fading away too quickly for it to be casual. Hey, that's not how it was supposed to go, Loosey-Deucey was meant to be pissed, to defend himself from the baseless accusation he had made out of boredom, not caught in the middle of an awkward truth. "Wait you seriously are?" And Deuce turned a shade darker as he immediately forgot about the potion at hand to, instead, shake his head from side to side as a denial. But Ace was no fool.
The blue haired boy immediately went back to his cauldron as he saw it turning to the wrong shade, the stream of red coming in the clear indicator that something bad was building up. "N-No, why would I want to do… t-that with the prefect?" He was now hyper focused on the greenish gooey liquid as it gained its color back. Ace raised an eyebrow at the fragile tone Deuce had taken. He didn't know who he was trying to convince (the red-haired or himself), but no one would have been with this voice.
So instead, he turned back towards his desk, resting his head on his forearm once again as he looked over the girl who was still doing all the group's work. She was pitiful, getting bullied so easily despite Crewel's warning towards her classmates that they should not even think about doing it, and he felt his heart acting up which made him bury his face in his crossed arms. Somehow, it annoyed him. The prefect had opened up to him first. Why would Deuce be interested in her? And what if all those bullies would, one day, also come to see the person hidden behind her title as the "magicless student who entered NRC out of pity when they had to work their asses off"? Even if it was an unrealistic outcome in his agenda, the simple thought somehow irritated him even more. "Fuck, it's annoying." He mumbled under his breath, his voice being drowned out by the students around him who rushed to finish their work as the end of the class was nearing.
His mind turned off as the tiredness from fooling around so early in the morning and not getting a wink of sleep finally hit him like a truck, and unfortunately for him, closing his eyes brought his downfall. What he felt was a few seconds had turned out to have been minutes. He didn't even managed to get a restful sleep as the only thing playing in his mind was a fuzzy memory of the girl's lips wrapped around his cock, before the sound of the teaching pointer hitting the desk standing right before the black board smeared with white chalk that were now embed in it (and would be clean clear overnight by a ghost) made him jump awake.
A small smirk was on Crewel's carefully painted face, which was the sign that a great disaster was incoming. "Good. Some of you puppies have a nice training coming along. Although for the rest..." His tone, satisfied at first, dropped low. A frown replaced the smile across his lips as his stick was waved in the air, a small trail of a gold-like powder following the shapes he was making before sending it slamming against the chalkboard, the powder crashing and turning to dust in an eye-catching show. As it disappeared, the lines he had made were now stuck on the board, and it turned out to be the names of quite a few students in the class. "The dogs whose names are here, stay. The other may run around." And Ace knew he was in deep trouble when he saw his name among the list.
Not so surprisingly though, neither Deuce's nor the prefect's name were there, which quickly made him guess what he did wrong as he complained to his partner who was already packing his stuff. But Deuce had none of it and he made sure to quickly tell him off. What did he want him to do? Advocate Ace by telling the teacher that he wasn't actually sleeping when the entire class saw him doing so? No, it was his long awaited lunch break and he wanted to eat. It wasn't his problem anyway, Ace could deal with the consequences, he had learnt, after the chandelier incident, that he should probably leave some people to handle their own problems. Especially if it was Ace Trappola. And that was also retribution for the shameless statement he made, implying that he, the model student that he was, wanted to do the deed with the Prefect.
And the red-haired dropped his head, going back to crossing his arms and resting on them, watching everyone but the selected students leave while loudly commenting about the menu of the day. Quite fast, his attention went back to the prefect, and a mocking huff from the back of his throat left his closed mouth. Just like Deuce, she was putting her notebooks away, diligently standing up and going towards the door without sparing a glance to her partner. He wasn't one to believe in superstition, but karma was truly doing its job. Her partner who had dumped all the group's work on her was also forced to stay and he looked absolutely devastated. He didn't know which dorm held this purple and red arm band he had, but it seemed like he would be in for a nice scolding by his dorm head (not like he didn't share the same fate). It wasn't a victory for her per say, but at least some of the students in the class would learn not to bring down the magicless student so openly if it meant being punished by the scary alchemy teacher.
She stopped in her tracks at one point, her head dropping to the side as she looked at Ace questionably. He was surprised when he saw her patiently waiting as if waiting for an answer. Did she… want to eat with him? It wasn't the implicit question that threw him off guard, but the fact that she had somehow found the courage to ask him about something, which he realized she hadn't done ever since they had met. And by the way she was fidgeting, it seemed that she was very much stressed about asking him this. So he put on the one smile he knew would get her not to worry about him rejecting her offer, the one that popular guys usually sported and would make girls squeal like those in a stereotyped teenage show, as he waved her off.
She immediately smiled back and nodded, turning around and walking towards Deuce. The two of them talked a bit —it was more of a one-sided conversation where she uttered a word or two and he answered awkwardly with a nod, but Ace was too paranoid at this point— as the last few students exited and Ace could see her smiling sheepishly at the blue haired boy before they left together. And oh was he pissed. She and the idiot who can't even put two and two together hanging out for lunch? His face morphed to greet yet another frown as he almost started to regret napping during his class, but he was Ace, the troublemaker who had never felt bad about any troublemaking before. Still, he at least hoped for the teacher to start whatever he wanted to say so that he could crash the little "date" the two were having.
And thankfully his wish was heard as Crewel immediately slammed the pointer in his hand once the last student had left. "Now, it seems like I should teach you puppies about discipline all over again. You may think I didn't see you, but that's taking me for a fool." Each of the people present were carefully scanned by his slitted eyes. He made sure to look at them personally, one after one squeaking under his gaze, before eventually pointing the closest to him. "You first. Stealing a potion, how idiotic of you."
And Ace knew that he was in for a looong ride if he was scolding and humiliating them one at the time. He probably wouldn't even have the time to eat at this rate. At least now he knew which teacher he shouldn't mess with.
˚ ✦ . . ˚ . . ✦
She started to eat her main dish, softly blowing on the hot potato stuck on her fork to cool it down before plopping it in her mouth. She tried to play off her mouth burning up (she didn't blow enough-) and breathed out in hopes of reducing the heat, but she could still hear the snickers of the students around as some of them were making comments about her eating like a starved dog or whatever dehumanizing and shameful thing their imagination could muster.
Eating at the cafeteria was a nightmare. She knew that upon setting foot there, she would have been assaulted by cold glares, a lot of mocking and teasing, but she didn't think it would be this bad. Not only that, but Deuce had also disappeared somewhere while she was filling up her own tray full of food, the ghosts serving her were grinning to the point that she could make out their gums as they handed her more than a normal portion. Was it out of sympathy, she didn't know, but it made her heart beat faster as she clumsily tried to bow down gratefully. She could feel the tears welling up as she received one of the very few kind gestures she had ever received since she ended up here. It was overwhelming, even if no-one could understand why her eyes had turned glossy. The ghosts were quick to make her straighten her back up as some students waiting for their turn behind were yelling at her to move out the way already.
She had rushed off to a table in one the corners of the room after a last grateful thank, starting to eat as she came to realize that no-one was sitting around her. They had all kept a distance big enough to fit at least two to three persons on the bench. At least she wouldn't have to worry about the noise… or that was what she thought until more students flocked in, still keeping the 3 seats distance improvised rule, and loudly made comments about her. So she tried to drown them out by eating the plates before her, which wasn't all that successful, but was the only thing she could do. Sure she had a phone she had snuck inside her skirt's pocket as Crowel had demanded for her to only use it for emergencies, but not only was it off-limits in a place that people could ell on her, but she had also forgotten to charge it and didn't want to use whatever left she had of her battery. And it's not like she could just barge next to them, demanding that they would stop spreading meaningless rumors or else… or else what? She was weak. She didn't know how to talk, was insecure, and the thought of one of them standing up, red with anger as they would scream their head off back at her, or even physically take it upon themselves to reprimand her, was enough to make tears prick her eyes. If she was at least half as confident as Ace or Deuce, none of this would have ever happened.
As she was still struggling to chew the hot potato in her mouth, the sound of a tray being put next to hers made her jump slightly, the sound of the metal cutlery clinging suddenly bringing her out of her thoughts. She looked over to see who it was, and low and behold, it was Deuce, wearing an apologetic look as he sat next to her. "I-It's not taken, right?" Taken? The seat? She shook her head, pointing out that all those around her were all free to be used. A relieved sigh left his lips before he straightened his neck with an unnatural and almost unheard laugh and jumped on the food. "I'm sorry for taking so long… I didn't know what to pick between carbonara and sautéed chicken…" She looked over at his plate to see that he had gone for the chicken.
She hummed in acknowledgement, "it looks tasty" she said before continuing with her own dish. Much like what she had done, he looked at what she had taken, curious by the fact that she had taken such a warm dish when the summer heat was still there. And trying to bring up some kind of conversation, and to maybe try and fight the way he would just freeze up in front of a girl, he repeated what he said out loud. "Why did I choose a potato gratin? It just… feels home for some reason." And it just reminded Deuce that the prefect was not only magicless, but also pretty much suffered from memory loss.
His curiosity growing, Deuce asked against any good judgment about her world. "Did you… forget everything about your homeland? His question was clumsy, and most certainly could have triggered someone, but the girl was pretty much okay with it. While it did feel weird to be asked that, it also made her all giddy to be able to exteriorise all these pent up feelings and the confusion about this entire situation.
"I remember nearly everything about my world, but when it comes to the memories about my own life and my family, except for general information, it's all blank." As if it was nothing, she picked another potato as Deuce had frozen at what she had said. Her circumstances were peculiar, and most importantly, he couldn't help but pity her. Remembering nearly everything except your own life? It sounded like something that someone could go mad about. "I have a mom, siblings, I'm one of the middle children, and I didn't have many relatives to interact with so it was mostly us."
"I-I'm sorry, I can't even imagine myself forgetting my mom…" He sighed as he looked at the food on his plate with a contemplative look. Yeah, he truly felt bad for her, maybe that it was his model student persona acting up, but he knew that he would have never felt this emotion before, not during his delinquent day. When he felt a hand grazing his blazer, he stiffened up, stopping dead in the act of munching his food as he started losing all the colors on his face.
He could see it from the corner of his eyes, her fingers tentatively flexing against his arm as she smiled at him. "Thank you for asking, although it's hard to miss something you can't even remember." He slowly turned his face to meet the girl's eyes, but she had already gone back to her plate. Her hand still on his arm. "Still, the nostalgia feels good, so I wanted to indulge it as much as I could. Thank you for asking."
Although she looked cool on the outside, a small smile clinging to her lips as potatoes after potatoes were stuffed in her mouth, she was internally confused. She had never spoken so much since she'd left this godforsaken coffin and it felt weird, and it's not like she had even gone on a tirade or any long monologue. She knew that it was because of Deuce who was acting much more shyly than her at the moment —her sisterly instincts taking over her despite how the boy was intimidating her, which forced her to take the role of the most extroverted and the leader of the conversation.
But the moment was cut short when she heard someone laughing, their voice breaking the atmosphere as she quickly removed her hands from Deuce's arm, much to his sadness. And the question that has been sitting at the corner of her mind suddenly sprung back. "Also I really wanted to ask," He nodded like a broken robot would, the movement unnatural and in short motion. "Do you not mind sitting with me?" He blinked once, twice, before his eyes eventually met hers.
She looked meek, fragile even, just like how he had found her when he had finally gotten his food. Not only was he strangely attracted to her, but she had also looked sick, with her dropping eyes and pale skin. His mind was racing with different ideas before he had cooly sat down next to her in the most casual way he could. Despite the way his heart was acting around her, he wasn't one to let a friend down, especially not when they looked down. "Uh, I should?" They both stared at each other, confused by his answer. Answering a question with a question? He coughed a bit as his cheeks were once again dusted with a light pinkish tone. "You looked sick, I don't know if it's because the classes were hard this morning, so of course I came. And you asked me to eat with you." More like she asked if they could eat together, but the phrasing didn't faze her one bit. If anything, something else caught her attention.
So he didn't see how everyone was sending her daggers with their eyes and how much it affected her. It turned out that he was more clueless than what she had previously thought, and it sparked off a giggle, one that she tried really hard to keep at bay so as to not offend Deuce. But he saw how her shoulders were staggering, the unnatural movement causing him to worry once again. "Are you okay?" It was the last straw for her who was trying so hard to keep it together. She bursted out laughing, tears building up at the corner of her eyes from how hard her stomach hurt. She didn't care about how she could see pairs of eyes staring at her incredulously through her blurry vision, the only thing that mattered was the blue haired one whose surprised face sent her into yet another fit of laughter before she could control it. Ah, she had missed this feeling! How ecstatic, how elated she was right now! Even as he tried to calm her down tentatively, which she tried to help by focusing on her breathing and less on the ridiculous fact that he was as oblivious as a kid (maybe even more at that point), she could only rejoice that such feeling would come in such a situation.
And right as she successfully calmed down, a grin stretched on her face as she, against her better judgment, playfully pushed her shoulders against his, yet another tray was put before her. Or more like middely slammed, as Ace sat down with pursed lips and eyebrows almost grinding. "What got y'all laughing?" He immediately went to pick a fork full of food, not waiting for her, or Deuce, to answer him before he started eating.
"It's not your business, is it?" Deuce's words made the two others stop, mouths still open as they turned to look at him. He was diligently swallowing each piece of chicken as unbothered as ever which made the red-haired's frown more noticeable. While Ace was offended, she on the other hand was more confused than anything, surprised by how the two immediately went into a passive-agressive behavior. Ooh, the tension could be cut by how thick it was, and she tried to descale it despite having up to no experience in this field.
"Nothing really. But you finally got here, what did professor Crewel say?" And thankfully for her, the boy was willing to let go of his grudge at the mention of the infamous teacher. She could see him rolling his eyes as he cringed, making her even more curious about what happened.
"Just like ya, nothing really." He smirked as he cheekily rested his head on his propped up hand, eyes meeting hers playfully. After his little show-off session that indeed managed to fluster her, he eventually straightened his back again to eat the rest of his meal. "He told me to come back after my last class." He said while cutting a piece of bread in two.
Her mouth fell open at that. She was expecting some kind of punishment since the teacher was quite literally glaring at him with a look that screamed "You're a dead man" and everyone who wasn't lazing off was practically offering prayers for Ace, but she was still surprised. "That's why you shouldn't nap during a class." She scolded him lightly, knowing that he wasn't entirely at fault there.
But he didn't seem to grasp that as he retorted back with a pout. "Yeah yeah, I'm surprised that you didn't either. You were wilder than me." She felt her cheeks getting hot at the innuendo behind his word. Of course she would be embarrassed if he said something like that, and she was lucky that no-one heard what he had just said as some kind of commotion was building up in the background. And right after, Deuce got up catching both of their attention. He looked serious as he arranged his tray before taking it. "Where you going?" The boy had not uttered a word ever since Ace had joined and it was weird for him to just leave out of nowhere.
"Classes start in less than 15 minutes." Or not, he was a model student after all. Kinda. As he walked away, the girl followed suit, quickly moving away from the bench so she could walk woth him to their next class.
She was stopped by Ace who was complaining about just joining in which got her to roll her eyes and tell him to eat fast or he'd be late. "At least wait in my room after school, I've got something to tell you." She stopped dead in her tracks, turning around to question him, but her words died in her throat as he had already moved onto something else, taking a look at whatever was trending right now on social media as he gulped down his food. She sighed as she continued on her way, wondering and dreading what he could possibly want to speak with her.
˚ ✦ . . ˚ . . ✦
When she arrived right before Heartslabyul, she was tempted to just walk back and tell Ace that something had unfortunately came up and had sadly prevented her from honoring what he had asked for. What would he do? Call her an idiot? It wouldn't be the first time, she knew she could withstand (or not) whatever insult he would tell her out of pettiness. But as she was thinking that she had a good excuse, a hand suddenly grabbed her shoulder and pushed her in someone's chest.
She looked up to grasp a view of this stranger who was so intimately touching her, his warmth spreading to her body in a way that was too disagreeable for someone like her who wasn't... especially touchy feely in her daily life, even less with someone she had just met. She only met a pair of green emerald iris shining as bright as the perfectly white lips aligning behind his stretched lips. The only thing she could make apart from his eyes and the beautiful orangish color strands of hair framing his face, was the diamond shape under his eyes —it matched the ones Deuce and Ace wore, albeit this stranger's drawing was more discreet and properly drawn than theirs— before his phone was trusted before her, a photo being taken during her confusion.
He pressed her tighter against his chest as he looked at it with pursed lips before sighing. "Tss, you're not photogenic, ya know?" Ouch, she didn't know who this person was, but his words were definitely unwanted. And also fueled the anxiety in her as she tried to back away from his touch by awkwardly trying to move her shoulder far from him. He had none of it, as his hand moved lower, reaching at the crook on her back to bring her closer. He tsked playfully as he flexed his hands against her school uniform. "Sooo you're the new student yuh? The one Ace got to screw up?"
W-What was even happening at this point? She took a deep breath, relaxing her stressed mind as she pulled away from his touch more forcefully. "Oop, I forgot to present myself!" She tried to look calm as she faced him, but this unwell look came back on her face. Eyebrows pulled together, a sickly complexion and the corner of her lips unwillingly sinking lower and lower with each passing second. "I'm Cater! Can call me Cay Cay tho☆ Now that we know each other you're not offended anymore, mmh?" She didn't know who this eccentric person was but she was pressured by his mere presence. Not only was he speaking and insulting her so naturally, but the people-pleasing tone he put forward was less than attractive, the fakeness of it making her inch further away.
Panic settled in his voice as he finally stopped to instead call her, he could see it, clear as day, that she was quite visibly tried to run away, almost as if she wasn't even trying to hide it —but she was, trying to be discreet because despite how this stranger was scaring her, she couldn't bring herself to potentially hurt his feelings. "W-Wait! You're here for Ace, no?" She nodded carefully, eyeing the door before switching her attention back to him. He put a hand on his hips as he sighed before playing with one of the hair strands falling on each side of his face, a tight smile gracing his thin lips. "Geez~ I was anxious that you would dump me for a moment there. Anyway, let me show you to his room." He switched back to his merry facade as he grabbed her hands, leading her through the labyrinth-like manor accommodating the Heartslabyul students.
She could barely pipe a word in, too focused on following the man and not tripping on her own feet to properly ask what was going on. She could see stairs slaloming under her, their checkered pattern paired with the messy show of cards and tea sets hanging from both walls and ceiling adding to her confusion and the dizziness from Cater's fast tempo. Where was he even walking her to? And how the hell did he know that she even wanted to see Ace? Perhaps he had assumed that they had indeed engaged in a physical relationship, which was a risky bet considering that they've only met like a few days ago and she was extremely shy, and that she wanted to go back to Ace to talk about it. But she didn't know if it would be a stretch to assume that this man, Cater, had done the same mental gymnastics she had had while he was pulling her here and there in the dorm. Although it all came to a stop when they arrived before one of the various doors in the vast corridor, this one was just as identical as the others, from the dark oak color of the wood, down to the card pattern engraved in it. She wanted to ask the ginger if they had arrived, but he was already by the stairs when she looked back at him, waving his arms, telling her something around the lines of "You should give me your magicam acc so I can tag you!" before leaving just as fast. Welp, here went her guide.
She turned to the door, taking in a deep breath, before knocking three times, waiting for a response. But when she heard no answer after a good five minutes, anxiously enduring the sly and mocking looks she would receive, she took it upon herself to open the door.
She quietly excused herself for entering without permission, her last attempt to see if someone was in the room. But when she peeked through the entrance, it was silent, and most importantly, no-one was there so she quietly stepped inside, the door closing behind with a soft "click" as she started to wander around a bit. It came to he that she knew nothing about Ace, not that it was surprising considering that they've only met a day or two ago, but it truly make her question how close they were and how she would be able to find his side of the room as it seemed like he was living with three other students in the small room. Walking along the impromptu lane leading to the window at the other side of the room, she was surprised to see, behind the curtains of the canopy beds, just how tidy and perfectly made the blankets were. It was the kind of effort that she lacked early in the morning and wouldn't put her energy into, she even cringed slightly as she could see the poor state she and Ace had left her bed in. As in covers haphazardly thrown on the bed and half of the cushions at the corners of the mattress with the rest on the ground.
When she arrived at the back of the room, looking carefully at each of the desks to see which side was Ace's, she stopped at the card-like furniture, placed against the far end wall, where a basketball was resting on. She carefully looked at the jacket hanging above on the wall, the one that she had seen a few students wearing in the dorm and making her wonder if it was some sort of uniform made specifically for the Heartslabyul resident, before inspecting the books nuzzled on whatever place was left on the cupboard. "Important figures of Basketball history" she read under her breath, huffing when she finished the sentence and switching to the book next to it. This one was about magic tricks… and this time she giggled, wondering why people here needed childish magic tricks when they had real magic. Surely a rabbit coming out of a magic hat was far less impressive than summoning one out of thin air. And the last book turned out to be the very reference book teacher Trein had given them a few hours before. Had Ace managed to drop his things before going to his club activity (and detention hour right after)? She wasn't sure, but to confirm her suspicions, she walked to the desk which she assumed had the same basketball and magic enthusiast owner, and it only took for her to peek at the notebook messily thrown on it to see the name tag "Ace".
She was relieved to say the least, that she didn't have to invade the privacy of someone else. So, gathering some courage, she slid the curtains of his bed to the side, enough to let her sneak in after kicking her shoes off, and let her body fall on it as she gradually started to relax. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and she truly questioned how he had managed to sleep on hers because she surely wouldn't have been able to get a wink of sleep after trying such a cozy mattress.
After a few minutes, letting in sink that she had successfully come to Ace's room and relishing into the silence surrounding her, she eventually pulled out of her skirt's pocket the phone Crowley had given her the night he had handed her the ramshackle building. The first thing she did was opening the app store to download whatever this magicam social media was, although the name sounded vaguely familiar to what she had back home and gave her an idea of what it was. It took no time for it to be downloaded, and she thanked whatever God they had here, rejoicing in the fact that Crowley might have been an ass and the most irresponsible figure of authority in her life in the few days they've met, but at least he gave her a phone with a proper cell phone plan. Which was weird, but he probably expected her to use the phone outside of its original use (which was only emergencies).Opening the app, she immediately went to create her account, working through the shroud her memory was to remember just what was the name of her account back in her world, and going smoothly through the creation of her account until she came across the part where they asked her if she wanted to add a profile picture.
Oh, what was she supposed to do now? She could skip it, no problem, just go on through the rest of the process and scroll along the Night Raven student's posts to see what was trending in this world. Yet, somehow, and perhaps was it due to what she had done with Ace the day before —gosh she was blushing, her cheeks definitely hotter than they should, at the mere thought of it— but she couldn't bring herself to pass this step. She wanted… to take a picture of herself? Knowing that someone was willing to have sex with her truly made her feel better about her body and she wanted to try something "new." So she angled the camera above her, hair sprawled on the bed, framing her face and pursed lips as she tried to find the right photo. After a few seconds where she looked intensely at the camera, she abandoned the idea, letting her arm fold against her chest as she took in just how cringe she must have looked. What the hell made her think this was a good idea? She immediately went to her gallery and picked a random picture she had taken of the cute purple-ish flowers growing inside the moldy room with the water heater.
Right when she completed her profile, she heard the door clicking open which made her perked up as she put her phone to the side and moved to crawl on the bed. The curtains of the canopy bed were blocking her from seeing who had entered, and as to not surprise whoever entered, she made sure to make some sound behind her as she moved closer to the edge. She crawled all the way to the curtains where she pulled it to the side, enough for her head to peek out. Much to her surprise —yes she had been hoping to see Ace— she was welcomed by Deuce's face who reciprocated her surprised look. "Uh? Perfect, what are you doing here?" She should be the one asking him this, she never expected the two of them to be roommates.
She sat on the back of her knees after pulling the curtain farther away from her, an awkward smile hanging loosely on her lips while she lightly scratched the back of her ear. "A-Ah, I came here on Ace's demand. I'm sorry for entering without permission, no-one was there so I took the liberty to come in." He shook his head with wide eyes, his own way to tell her that it was no problem and she shouldn't be bothered by it. Her smile became brighter as she was relieved, which made him switch his attention to the bottle he had in hand, the one she only came to realize he was pulling out of his sport bag after she saw him diverting his eyes. He looked back at her, softly excusing himself, before once again distracting himself by looking at the floor as he moved across the room.
He walked to the bed next to Ace, which she assumed must be his as he had haphazardly dumped his all his sport stuffs on it, before he straightened his back, staring at the equipments peeking through the opening of the bag's zipper that he hadn't bothered to fasten close after he had taken his bottle out. A short silence stretched, one she was tempted to avoid by looking at some videos on magicam, and was almost about to do so, before his voice, unsure by the tone, resonated. "I-I'm not used to being around girls." She was definitely caught off guard by his words, but she didn't dare to pipe a word in as he let his head fall forward, a blush spreading on his face hidden by his blue bangs, while his fists clenched. "None of them ever approached me, or even looked me in the eyes actually, I was more rough back then and pretty scary so it became like that naturally I guess… T-That's why I sometimes freeze up, I guess that I'm kinda… c-caught off guards?" Deuce was definitely trying to express himself as clearly as he could. She had felt it already, how he would sometimes stumble over his own words and stop responding which forced her to talk instead, although she had unconsciously assumed it was because he was forcing himself to be friendly with her. Ah, it turned out it was just because he was somewhat "inexperienced". She definitely felt the same, not that she was scared of the opposite gender, she just felt overwhelmed by being solely surrounded by them, boys, men whatever she was supposed to call them with the attitude she had seen from some. Which would probably pressure and most certainly distress a lot of people if they were put in the same situation (let's not add that she was also magicless in a magic specialized school and seemingly hated by the entire student body for a reason that she wasn't even exactly sure about.)
She was about to comfort him, telling him that she couldn't care less about the stuttering or freezing up, but he pulled his head up right after which surprised her as she immediately forgot about talking. He walked his way to her after taking a long breath in and stopped before her as stiff as a wooden plank, eyes moving from hers then above her head when he made eye contact. "A-And I wanted to talk to you about something. Uh, important?" He said the last part quite unsure, not knowing if it actually was or not. She nodded slowly, her mind working hard not to let her imagination get caught in any unpleasant thought although it was quite hard for her who was used to it, but came to realize that she was still sitting on Ace's bed. It may not be much, but she thought that switching to Deuce's bed would be way better if they were to talk about something important, it might take a while after all.
And she was quick to voice out her idea, pointing to the bed where he had come from and raising herself off the one she was sitting on at the same time. "How about we move to your bed? It'll be way more comforta-"
"Wait!" He cut her off, his voice surprisingly loud which was unfit for his character, or at least for the character he had tried so hard to put up ever since they've met, and was surprised by his own voice as he started falling forwards. She jumped at the sudden movement and rolled back on Ace's bed right after losing her balance, his arms following along and falling on each side of her head as he moved above her, and both his legs caging her waist as he was now on all four above her. The two of them immediately fell into a trance as they gazed at each other's face. He was seeing details that he had failed to see before, since he wasn't one to care about appearance, like the black dot resting under her right eye, or the one below her pinkish lips which was tempting him into doing something he had never even thought about before. And when his eyes trailed lower on her neck and down to her collarbone that was free for him to see due to the few buttons she had opened from when she was quietly complaining about being hot earlier during their history class, he gulped down, the sight of yet another beauty mark hiding right below the fabric and near one of her breasts making his body ache as his mind started whispering incoherent thing to him. Like how he needed to trail a hand down along her chest, pass a finger or two under her shirt as he should press a kiss against her plump lips and taste her. It felt… overwhelming, and with the heat growing in him, his cheeks followed suit and darkened from the accumulation of blood.
And as for her, she was admiring his turquoise eyes, marveling at how bright and… lively they were, or his forehead, glistening due to the sweat building up and, and the small strand of wet blueish hair stuck to it. She saw how messy the Spade on his face was drawn upon closer inspections, the lines shaky and bumps decorating it, which made her remember that he was still pretty much clumsy despite how intimidating he may appear to her. But when she felt how insistent his eyes were, as she could see them glued to her chest, it made embarrassment bloom inside her in the most sickly way as she felt it blocking her trachea. She immediately looked to the side, instead focusing on his gloved hand and how his fingers were flexing against the fabric of the blanket as he was still contemplating her body. But was there even anything to see? Bile was creeping its way up from how nauseous she was becoming at the mere thought. Ace had managed to keep such ludicrous idea at bay by fucking her until she even forgot about her name, but now it was all coming back, and even stronger at the accumulation that kept building up.
He came back to himself once he saw that she had turned her face to the side, and immediately after his face turned livid as he bit his lips, he too, now facing the other side. He quickly got back up, moving to her left as he apologized for putting her in an awkward position, but still refusing to look at her. She used this chance to straighten her back, crossing her legs so that she would be more comfortable. "A-As I've said, it's pretty important…" Dread washed over her as if she had been hit straight in the face by those huge and aggressive waves that lifeguards would usually warn you about by blowing in their whistle, making her forget that the two of them were still on Ace's bed.
She wanted to nod like she had done before, not trusting her voice to not actually break down and willing to listen to what he had to say, although she feared it, she couldn't not face the situation now that this discussion of his was starting to impose itself as the elephant in the room. And all those anxious thoughts eventually overcame whatever defense mechanism she was supposed to have. Did he finally have enough of having to deal with her and her anxiousness? Of how she lacked a proper self-esteem, and how it could have made him avoid stepping up against a bunch of hot-blooded students if she had the same confidence he had? Did he… finally understand how boring and uninteresting she was? But he was facing the other way, which forced her to let out a soft and almost inaudible hum for him to finally look at her with an uneasy face.
He opened his mouth, and her mind went into a frenzy in those few milliseconds before his voice resonated in the empty room. He would finally say it, that hanging out with her (although the circumstances forced him to) was a pain, that he wanted her to never approach him ever again, and what if he said that she was annoying to deal with? She had tried so hard to put up a facade that would've helped her, faking being hurt, but in this situation she couldn't take it anymore, she didn't know if she could take one more insult, especially coming from him who she had slightly gotten closer to. "I'm sorry.." And silence reigned after that. He was sorry… what for she didn't know. And when she expressed out loud her confusion with a small and confused "Uh?" he awkwardly coughed in his fist before continuing. "I- I mean , how should I say this, I uuh just…"
"I– I've been thinking about i-ina—... i-inappropriate s-stuff about you– ou?" His stuttering became stronger with each word, his face once again cultivating this reddish color she was ironically starting to get accustomed to. And as for her… He had exceeded all her expectations, never would she have ever thought that someone would say that, to her of all persons! And by the look of it, he was just as surprised by what he had said. "I- I mean, after I saw you and Ace this morning I just— I'm not even sure if it's actually that? But seeing you just made me….?" He was tempted to bury his face in his hands, to hide any of his embarrassment, but instead gripped his pants.
She was surprised, her eyes widening as she thought back to what he could have seen, and to say that she felt stupid would be an understatement. Yes, she had quite literally forgotten about any decency this very morning as she had pulled her skirt up to remove Ace's cum from her leg, her mind still basking in all the sex she had had, and she only came back to her normal and awkward self after she had been brought back to reality by her potionology partner. She didn't know how she didn't feel any shame before that, and as of now, something else had quite ridiculously caught her attention. "Y-You mean I turn you on?" GAH! How could she say it like that?! The wording was so wrong, so vulgar, something that a model student shouldn't hear! And yet, the entire situation itself was something he shouldn't have ever found himself in in the first place. And the wording was pretty much true.
Instead of denying, like what his mind was screaming at him to do, he instead, against his better judgment, nodded slowly as if scared of her reaction, which was the case. And she was left speechless. Her fingers were flexing against her thighs as a way to chase after any type of support she could have at the moment, sweat building up along her palm. What was she supposed to do? Should she welcome him, invite him in her bed like Ace did, although Ace more of like jumped onto her and she went along with it. Deuce wasn't ugly by any means, and if anything, she wasn't against the idea of being intimate with him, but him wanting to do it with her? Of all people? She doubted already with Ace, but this just made her question herself again. Was she simply an easy target or did she enter some kind of beauty standards here? "I mean… I'm not against it, you know."
"E-Eh?" He was taken aback at her words, his mind not taking into account her meek and unsure voice but only the approval. She was… Okay with going through his damn twisted needs?
She shifted on the bed awkwardly, moving her legs so that her heels were now digging into her butt from how she had placed them. "Doing it, pleasing you… I wouldn't mind pleasing you." She didn't know how she had managed to say it without stuttering, the benediction of always keeping her tone cool when stress arose, definitely taunting her at this very moment. And he was taken off guard.
"A-Are you sure?" He was impatient but tried to keep some manners, and anyone could clearly see it from the way he was staring at her with wide eyes. She nodded quietly as she shyly brushed a few hair strands out of her face, trying not to look into his eyes and make it more awkward for her.
She moved so that her legs could hang above the floor. "Of course. I don't really like lying or giving false hope." Because I would like you not to do so, was the unsaid part, the one she left hanging hoping that he would catch on. Which he didn't, but he was a man with values. If she had expressed her ideas that clearly, it'd have been hypocrisy not to respect and reciprocate her own moral codes and him… He was a model student, yes one that indulged himself into the carnal desire making his body heat up like a fever, but mainly one that is supposed to respect others.
He nodded, not trusting his voice, to show that he was listening and agreeing with her. And he was right not to voice out his thoughts as he would have let out an ungracious noise when he felt her hand touching his. While he was as stiff as a stick, wondering what she was planning, she had already laid out her plan inside her mind. She didn't have much experience, the only one she had was Ace, and she didn't want to count in those educational videos and porn she had watched out of boredom, so she naturally planned on redoing what she had done with the red-haired. So sucking him off came first.
"Umm, so you've got any condoms? I heard you guys were given some the other day." He was taken out of his reveries as he mentally thanked Cater for delivering him the bag of condoms the prior day instead throwing it straight to the trash. Indeed he had kept it because he could never discard something his senior would give him, no matter what it was, but this detail could be put aside for now. He nodded vigorously, leaping out of Ace's bed and leaving her confused on it as he went to his side of the room. He opened the lowest drawer of his desk, pulling out the same bag the ginger brought to her, rummaging through it to find something his size. He never had sex with anyone, far from it, if anything he was feared by everyone and it never came to him just how sexually frustrated he could be. Still… He may have participated in a few "manly" games with his friends, dumb things boys would do like running around naked in the locker room instead of washing the sweat off their body after their PE class, and of course, comparing their size was the event he had to go through.
When he felt her shoulder brushing his arm, his soul almost left his body as he almost jumped, immediately turning to look at her although her eyes were locked on the condoms he was rummaging through. She hummed slightly, almost too low for him to hear, before she faced him. "So you know your size?"
Deuce blinked a few times before a reddish hue went back to his cheeks as his lips were slightly pursed. He took a small plastic package while nodding. "Y-Yeah." She turned back to him with a small smile on her lips as she hummed acknowledging what he said. It was out of instincts, but she unconsciously compared him to Ace. How much kinder and calm he was. How straight to the point he would act sometimes. How adorable the red tint on his neck was. How much stronger he looked compared to his roommate. It wasn't right, and she knew the two would be offended if she ever voiced out this thought, but she couldn't help it. They were the only ones she had had a positive interaction with so far and seeing how different the two were was just inevitable.
She took the condom out of his hands as he eyed her, not daring to do anything as he waited for her to say something. "Go sit on the bed, I'll do it don't worry." She gave him yet another smile that managed to make him crumble as he pitifully nodded before doing what she asked, placing himself on the edge of his bed. She didn't wait for him to make himself comfortable that she was already on her knees before him, hands playing with the squarish plastic she was holding and ripping it open carefully. Not wanting for her to do everything, he immediately moved to his trousers, fumbling with his fly as he was suddenly hyper-aware of what he was about to do. Not that he wasn't before, but only now did it come to him that he was about to lose his virginity. He wasn't stressed per say at the idea, he had just never thought about the importance of it before as he never had the chance to. Feared as he was, his mates nor the world around found use in explaining it to him.
She lightly tapped his leg, soft enough for it to catch her attention. "Are you scared?" She could see that his mind was somewhere else as he had stopped undoing his slacks, his hands holding the side of his pants as he looked before him with an absent look. She chuckled softly before rubbing his thigh with a smile. "Don't worry! If something displeases you, be sure to tell me about it, and I'll immediately stop."
He blinked a few times at her before trying to give her a small smile, although it came out more as a grimace than anything else. He was clearly uncomfortable and she didn't know if it was because he was stressed or because he wanted to stop but felt like he was forced to do it, and she would hate the latter to be the on-going scenario. So she decided to test the water as she asked him in a soft tone to get up enough so she could finish what he had started. And he eagerly did so as he pushed his hands in the blankets and raised his hips for her to help him lower his pants. She was surprised by the speed with which he did so, but it also proved that he wanted it, right? And assuming that, she took the edges of the pants of his school uniform and slid them lower together with his underwear.
She was surprised to see him almost rock hard, his erection already well formed as it stood upright, and the only thing she could note was that he seemed to have more girth compared to Ace, the veins along his cock running all the way up to the slightly red tip. It was circumcised. She said the last one playfully in her head as she brought her hands to his length, not aware of the way her lips were unconsciously brought upwards. "I- Is there a problem?" She took her eyes away to look at him at his question, his face just as red as before. Why was she smiling? Was it not what she was expecting? Perhaps was he not big enough?
A groan resonated in the room when he felt her fingers on either side of the base of his cock, and he clasped his hands on his mouth the next second, definitely taken by surprise by what she had done. And right after his back straightened up, her warm breath now ghosted over his tip. Shit, he could never go back to lonely pleasuring if those two things alone managed to push him closer to his climax, his hands could never compare to her.
"Deuce. Are you sure that you want it?" He was taken aback by her sudden question.
He looked down to finally meet her eyes, and he tried real' hard not to look aside when he saw just how lewd she looked right now, kneeled on the ground and ready to please him. "Of course, if not I'd have said so…" His voice hitched before he released a shaky breath as she smiled at him with half-lidded, trying to dispel any left-over doubts he may have had but instead conveying a sultry look as she pressed her cheek against his cock. Did he say lewd before? Because she looked absolutely depraved now, his dick squished tight between his abdomen and her face.
One last smile was thrown his way before she focused back on the situation at hand. "Then I'll start, you can stop me whenever you want." She pushed a few hair strands out of her face before getting to work, and he took this chance to tear his gaze away from her. No, he didn't dare to look down, his eyes pretty much analyzing Ace's side of the room which happened to be the only thing in his field of view, but he could sense it, feel it, as her hands wrapped around his cock carefully. A tight squeeze, then slow pumps, her breath ghosting above his tip, her tongue flicking over the pinkish top of his dick, the walls of her mouth warm and welcoming, the sound she would make every time he met the back of her throat, the build up was happening faster than his mind would have liked, he couldn't come now… Wouldn't it be embarrassing?
She carefully cradled his cock, her fingers and tongue flexing against it as she tried to make him more comfortable. Or at least comfortable enough that he would stop glaring a hole inside the wall and let his tense muscles finally relax. She could feel his legs, trapping her on each side, and how they were subtly trembling from the knee up to his waist as if he was keeping himself from thrusting inside her mouth. But that was the idea, that's what he was supposed to do. She agreed to please him, he could at least let himself go. So she sighed as she took him out of her mouth, the remnants of the lubricant the condom was coated with making her mouth heavy as she gulped down the excess of saliva. "... Is there a problem?" He was once again taken aback and he slightly jumped when he heard her voice. He was so focused on not coming that he had not even seen when she had stopped sucking him off, much to his embarrassment as he felt shame blooming and forming a ball in his throat. He shook his head from side to side, a way to tell her that no, there were no problems but she still frowned. "Are you sure? You seem quite tense." And as to emphasize her words, she pressed her fingers on his toned thigh, the muscles proving to have hardened under the tension and making her action almost unnoticeable.
Well… she was right, he did feel troubled, but what was he supposed to do? Assume that he was scared of coming too fast? Tell her about it? "Oh, actually, your mouth feels amazing but I'll cum soon so I'm trying not to focus on it so we can go longer!" He may actually be dense, but he had a self-esteem and an ego to keep up with. And seeing how reluctant he was to speak, she merely sighed and flexed her fingers around the base of his cock before looking him straight in the eyes. She may be shy and not think highly of herself, but she was a people pleaser before anything else, and if he was unsatisfied by her then she just had to try a bit harder. Without overstepping any barrier that would make him too uncomfortable of course. "Deuce." A shiver ran along his spine at the way his name left her lips. "I'll go back to it, but please do not overthink anything. If you're cuming faster than you would have liked it's okay, I do not expect you to have the stamina of a porn star on the so few times you could have had sex — without mentioning that most men in the industry drug themselves to be able to keep up for at least 30 minutes. So please…" Why the hell was she suddenly giving him a serious talk in-between sex? She didn't know, nor did he, but it just felt right and she had started to talk before she knew it, because it seemed, in a certain way, nice, when she said those words in her head.
"Trust me, I won't judge you."
He gulped down audibly, the bump of his Adam's apple bobbing at the same time. Should he trust her as she had said? It's true that she had not judged him in the short time they had been together, but could he really thrust his entire reputation and self-esteem in her hands? He certainly felt uncertain about it, but the way her eyes looked up at him hopefully, not knowing that she had actually defiled him and thought he just felt uneasy with her, he somehow… couldn't resist.
"Okay… Okay let's try again." She brightened up, her lips stretching in a warm smile as she nodded vigorously before looking back at his cock, still in her hands. She had the affirmation that she could start again! She felt more than happy about it, glad that he had not only decided to indulge her requests, but that she now also had the chance to please him.
Seeing that he was still sensible due to her previous touches, she only pumped his length a few times before she lowered her head once again. She made sure to go slowly, still delicate with her touch and attentive of how he would react, as she pressed the tip between her lips slowly enough as to not scare him. A spark ran along his spine, his knee jumping in reaction to it and almost hitting her in the head. She looked up to see what was happening but was only left with her mouth agape as she saw his head thrown backward, his fist pressed against his lips to conceal any noise that threatened to leave his mouth. He couldn't break now, she had barely even touched him! It was embarrassing for him to fall apart so easily when they had just begun, as if he had never been touched before. Which was the case, but he had hoped that he would have lasted longer than that, that he didn't have to strain his trachea to keep any hiss from leaving his lips. And fuck, he did say that he was willing to trust her, but maybe that he had overestimated his strength.
Although his efforts were for naught as when he felt her lips circling his length, the moist and damp walls of her mouth warming and cuddling him, he let out a small whimper, her action catching him off guard and breaking down those walls he half-heartedly tried to build. She hummed at the delicious sound he let, the bottom part of her underwear growing moist the more he started to thrust inside her mouth, gaining confidence with each and every move. Somehow, hearing him panting, groaning, being rough with her, it made her want for him to come faster. And she pumped him faster, working her tongue to hug the underparts of his cock where she could feel a vein throbbing, pushing him closer to the edge.
And it didn't take long for him to tip and fall head first into it, the warmth in his lower stomach aching and his voice reaching deeper notes as he felt himself coming close, only a few thrusts left for him to come undone. So he made sure to do so, the last few movements harsher than any before and making her wonder if he was trying to choke her down on his cock, which was probably the case although he'd have never admitted it. Right after, his pace stuttered and she felt the condom growing, now heavy in her mouth, which prompted her to finally take him out of her mouth.
She immediately moved to carefully remove the condom, trying not to let any of his cum drip out of, humming with a satisfied tone all the while. He was trembling, his head still thrown aback as he took in just how intense was his climax, and to say that he was on cloud nine would be an euphemism with how light he felt at the moment. She was good at it, and by "it" he meant her sucking his dick off, and he wondered for a while if he could… perhaps, go down on her. But he had already asked enough, he couldn't possibly demand that she would give herself to him. And while he was going through his own dilemma and mindlessly put himself back in his pants, she tied the condom, marveling at the amount inside it, before throwing it inside the trash bin between his bed and Ace's desk.
Squatting back up, she walked to him and made herself comfortable on the bed as she looked at him expectantly. "I— Is there anything you need?" He didn't know how to react to her eyes, why was she so suddenly coming head on on him with those bright eyes staring back at him? But at his words she deflated. The corner of her lips dropped before she put a smile back on, this time more shy and almost disappointed.
"No… No. I think it's okay." By her tone, it wasn't clear whether or not she was trying to convince him or herself. But the way her face looked less alive than before didn't go unnoticed by him. And he thought maybe, just maybe, if he was to ask to see her body, would it take her mind off whatever she was thinking about? It was a flawed way to think things through, he would have offended more than one person, and yet, despite being aware of this, he still took the risk of asking.
His calloused fingers went to put a strand of hair behind her ear, startling her as she jumped slightly before relaxing at the warm touch. She leaned in his hand and he hesitated for a while about what he was about to say. But… "Can I—" He whispered as he leaned forward, his lips hanging above hers as her eyelids fluttered close with a hum. "Touch you?" And her breath was taken away as she opened her eyes wide with surprise.
Did he just ask what she was hoping for? Did he… volunteer to do it on his own after she had lost hope for it?
She looked to the side with a blush, which almost sent him into panic before she eventually nodded shyly, giving him the signal that he needed. He wasn't expecting her to agree so easily to it, and he was glad to see that she was ready to go with whatever he wanted at the moment. And trying to see how far it could go, he asked yet another question. "C-Can you move further into the bed?" He asked quietly and she agreed with a small voice before doing so, much to his relief. His bed was close to the door, and if anyone were to barge in, if he couldn't hide the sounds they would make, he could at least do so for their naked body. So when she finally settled back on the bed, kneeled in the middle of the blanket as she made herself comfortable, he made quick work of closing the curtains of his canopy bed, the heavy material shielding them from the outside world. There was no coming back, he told himself as he swallowed heavily before turning back to her. She was still playing with the hem of her skirt, as always, when he approached her. "Do we need to undress…?" And undress they should indeed, but the idea was taunting her.
Undressing before Ace had been done in the heat of the moment, when her clouded mind couldn't hear the small voices at the back, dying for her to just put on some clothes again to cover her hideous body from him as quickly as possible. Now that she was fully conscious of the situation, not yet fully aroused, it was bugging her. But she still agreed with a small voice before taking the button at the very top of her waist coat and popping it open, doing so with each of them before the piece of clothing was discarded to the side and she moved onto the next one. Deuce's eyes were glued to her shaky hands, watching as she unraveled her naked body for him to see, which further turned him on. He… really wanted to see how she'd look all flustered, back arching and voice singing his name under his touch.
"Uh Deuce? You're not undressing?" She had stopped moving when she saw him staring, her shirt still around her wrists as she had yet to remove it. He felt himself blushing, ashamed that he had been caught red handed, and he only grew twice as red when he saw her naked chest, realizing that she did not wear a bra in the first place. She was going around school with nothing under her shirt? Just… What has she been thinking? He could barely wrap his mind around this fact, suddenly growing aware of how vulnerable she could have been if someone other than him had discovered, but also of the many times she had pressed herself against him out of fear during the mine incident —or was it because she was intimidated by Ace? Because she seemed to scurry over to him whenever she saw that the ginger's gaze was on her. That was until the monster came, and she was the first one to take actions, cooly calling for them to team up which they did without arguing seeing how level-headed she had been.
He gulped down before looking to the side, immediately working on removing his own uniform as fast as he could. "I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to stare." The words were coming out faster than his mind could process, further embarrassing the two of them as the situation had yet to settle in them. To take his mind off the silent settling back in the room, he started taking his shirt off, the white fabric thrown to a corner before he switched to the belt loosely hanging around his waist. His pair of slacks joined the rest of his clothes as he now kneeled on the bed with only his underwear on him. It was embarrassing… She couldn't look him in the eyes, her gaze only managing to go no higher than his sculpted legs. But fighting off the feelings bubbling inside her, she moved to her skirt, removing it and leaving her in a pair of plain white panties she had somehow managed to get thanks to Crowley's "kindness."
Now they were both in their most vulnerable apparel, and the sight did not fail to bring them both further down inside their shyness. She was pretty, Deuce wondered in his mind as his eyes went back to her chest almost too shamelessly for his own taste, but he couldn't help himself. Seeing how insistent he was, she tried to call out his name, but he beat her to it, leaning forward with red tinted cheeks as he fought off the stuttering. "Can I?" He asked as his hands hung right above her cheek, not yet touching it as he waited for her approval. Her lips parted, a small whispered "yes" leaving her mouth, and right after he cradled her face, leaning towards her as he pressed a chaste kiss on her mouth.
She hummed, about to pass a hand behind his neck to pull him closer, but he broke the kiss before she could. The disappointment she felt could clearly be seen on her face, although she was unaware of it and seemed just as clueless, but he quickly dived back in, repeating a process of pressing short kisses before pulling away, which quickly frustrated her. So when he closed in again, she took the chance to put two hands on his shoulders to pull him closer, closing the distance half-way through and parting her lips to deepen the kiss. He was surprised, not managing to do much other than take in the way her fingers played with his hair, fingers scratching the back of his head, or her tongue finding its way to meet with his in a messy kiss. A-Ah— She took his first kiss so easily, switching his tentative experiments to something much more sensual, as drool started to drip on both their chin and her wet muscle finding its way inside his mouth. It was overwhelming, and to compensate for this feeling, he put his hands on her waist, moving so he could press his body against hers, her breast modeling against his chest and making him painfully aware of the perk buds squeezed against him.
Deuce once again broke the kiss to carefully wrap his arms around her back, his skin grazing hers right above the plain band of her underwear before pressing a kiss on her lips. But this time, instead of going back to her lips, he moved against her cheeks, slowly moving his kisses lower and lower. She closed her eyes, rolling her head backwards and taking in the ticklish sensation of his lips on her throat as he took the time to explore around her clavicle before diving even lower. Her hand unconsciously flew to the top of his head where she cradled him closer, her body shuddering at each of his slow and languid kisses, making her wonder if the arm she had moved and was propped behind her would be enough to keep them two upright with how much it was shaking. Not only was he weakening her body, but he was also leaning and putting more of his weight on her the more he explored her chest.
A surprised squeak left her when she felt his lips tugging the very tip of her nipples, the flash of pleasure shooting along her spine enough to startle her. It felt weird. She thought for a moment whether she could come undone just by it, but one thing she could testify for sure was that it felt incredibly good. Too good, actually, and she instinctively started playing with his short strands of hair mindlessly. He hummed when he felt the warmth of her hand, the throbbing sensation stealing yet another sound out from her.
Her eyes started to water, the heat taking over her face, making her thoughts foggy the more he played with her nipples, the tip of his tongue teasing her over and over. And a pitiful moan left her lips the moment he switched from one breast to another, the new one much more sensitive than the previous, and instead of freezing up like he would have certainly done a few moments before, knowing that he was doing right he sucked her skin much more vigorously, not even stopping when the obscene noise of slurping resonated inside the room. Teeth and moist were the only things she could register as she started to lose touch with her mind. The only things that brought her pleasure at this moment.
But he let go after a while, earning a pitiful and annoyed huff from her that he didn't register as he was panting, restless and impatient about what was about to come. His lips, flushed and plump, were still connected to her nipple by one thin bridge of spit that didn't take long to break in half. And right when it did, his gaze that had been fixated on her clavicle that rose with each short and shallow breath —as if she was doing this not to fill her lungs with oxygen, but to find support in a casual and familiar action— switched to her lower half, his attention now focused on the last pair of garments on her body that was hiding what he coveted the most. Gently, as if fearing that it would take her out the delight she seemed to be indulging, Deuce's hot breath slid along where her diaphragm is, slowly reaching lower and lower, hands barely trailing down the side if her thighs, until he finally reached the band of her panties.
A shallow kiss was pressed under her navel, bringing her mind back to the current situation, but just enough so that she could once again gently play with his hair as she watched him peel off the fabric that cladded her skin oh so dreadfully away from his lust. His fingers worked steadily, nails leisurely grazing her skin as he no longer cared about the aching pain between his legs, now fully focused on unveiling her most private part. Although the impatience he felt before quickly came back once he realized that removing the piece of clothing would be hard of he stayed between her legs, and he almost huffed as he got up, some of the old manners, from his previous delinquent year he had tried hard to forget, threatening to come back.
Clueless to what he was planning, her heart easily jumped into a sudden frenzy and panicked tempo when he pushed her body backwards, her back hitting the mattress before her mind even properly registered the fall. The small gasp that left her lips was not taken into account as he went back to what had caught his attention just a moment before, as in the panties that were still clinging to her hips and teasing him endlessly the more the time passed. So trying not to be too rough, although he did want to go harder on her, he carefully peeled the plain textile down to her knees, never once taking his eyes off the apex of her legs as he did so. She felt heat warming her face up with embarrassment, his eyes clearly focused on the one part that she felt the most insecure and impossibly driving her further down the shame eating her inside out. For Pete's sake! He was so slow with it! She knew that he tended to be clueless, right this moment she could only think about Ace who had not wasted a second to go down on her. Her thoughts quickly shifted back to Deuce who had, during a moment of inattention from her, decided that pulling both her legs up would help him, taking her ankles with one hand and pulling them up to his shoulders for them to rest on.
Focused on the piece of undergarment, he failed to notice the way she had subtly moved her fingers to hide her face away from him, but it also allowed him to work faster, making quick work of the fabric as he threw it somewhere with the rest of the clothes they had removed. When he eventually turned back to her, he thought nothing of her now closed legs, most likely unaware and oblivious about her current shame, and passed two hands on each side of her thighs, parting them apart easily, the tip of his fingers delighted by the simple touch of her supple soft skin that he was tempted to lavish with kisses. Her embarrassment only tenfolded at that, draining every last bit of confidence she had had as she tried to hide by burying her back further into the bed.
The first thing he did was pass a finger between her folds, spellbound as he spread her glistening juice along. And she twitched slightly as he grazed her clit. Then twitched yet again as he passed over it a second time, then a third time, fourth, doing so every time he would repeat his clueless action out of wonder, and up until she eventually let out a small noise that finally managed to take him out of this trance. Seeing her panting, he curiously repeated what he had done so for the past minutes, this time watching closely what provoked her odd reactions. And when his fingers spotted the place, the small bump against his finger, he tentatively played with it before stopping once she started to writhe under his administration. He definitely learnt it at school, during those anatomy classes he made the effort to attend because his friends told him it would be fun — they were the epitome of kids finding entertainment and getting restless by just hearing the word “sex” — and seeing her reacting that way only confirmed that he had indeed found what he had been taught was a clitoris.
So without much thought he bent down, placing his head further between her thighs, until he was face to face with the small bud of flesh. His breath ghosted over her clit, her legs tightening behind his head as her hand weakly grasped the sheets under her writhing body. At the, what he assumed was (and it was a correct assumption from his behalf), a positive response to his actions, he tentatively pressed his lips against the perked out bud sitting between his fingers, this time sucking on it. A loud gasp came out of her mouth before she immediately sucked on her lower lip, stopping herself from making too much noise out of fear of being heard. But he continued, passing his tongue over it in hopes of seeing just how much she could take in, even sneaking a finger inside her hole to further test her. And she was what one would say, “on cloud nine.” She could feel the heat taking over her lower stomach before it bloomed on her cheeks, slowly losing touch with the feeling in her legs as she felt tears welling up by the corner of her eyes, even the distant feeling of a tear falling by the side of her face was vaguely registered. And he continued to suck on it, his fingers moving faster inside her hole, probing with more confidence as the time passes until he was just fucking her. All until she felt a familiar feeling coming back, her walls clenching painfully as she felt the tell-tale signs of her upcoming release. And as he refused to get slower, it was only a matter of time before he felt her juice drenching his face, tainting his face in the best way he could have dreamt of.
He made sure to lick along her slit, gathering up whatever was left of her semence, before kneeling down, towering her trembling body in such a debauched scene. Her breath stuttering and his cock twitching along as he looked at her intensely, wondering what position he should tame for her to feel comfortable for the next step. He eventually settled on something simple, opting to lay on his forearms on each side of her face, one hand making a quick way down so he could adjust his shaft to press between her folds. She opened her eyes to see his face right above hers, his tongue wetting his skin before he looked into her eyes, asking for permission. At the look he sported, she shyly nodded. And “I'll go…” Was all he said before he started pressing the tip of his cock to her walls, the arm steadying his body upright trembling the further he went inside her. The warmth, the dampness, the clenched walls hugging him and coaxing him to go deeper was all too much for him, and he wondered for a moment if he should just pull out. But when he felt fingers cradling the back of his neck, he opened his clenched eyes previously closed out of instinct when he slid inside her, and he lost touch with the feeling burning his lower stomach inside out, suddenly more focused with the woman under him. Once again, he was taken aback by her beauty, focusing on as many details as he could while he rested inside her as he waited for her to get used to his length. The entry had been easy, with how wet she was as she had cum all over his fingers it would be surprising if she wasn’t properly prepped, but waiting for her still came as a necessity, or so screamed his instincts at him.
“Y-You… You can continue.” She whispered sheepishly, her lips pursed as she tried not to look at him directly in the eyes. The words she used were too familiar, they were almost an exact copy to those she had read in the many smuts she would find online when boredom would hit, creating this feeling that what she said was just so… cringe? And now she could only wait for Deuce to act, not daring to say anything anymore as she would surely further embarrass herself if she were to utter anything more.
It didn't take long for him to pull out, only the tip wet with both his and her cum left inside her, before he thrusted back in with one harsh motion that made her gasp before she immediately clamped a hand to her mouth. The pace set was almost unforgiving, his cock constantly hitting the spot next to her cervix as if to punish her for shielding away her voice. The more her mind got muddier, the looser her hold became until he saw the chance to take her fingers in his, intertwining them and using the grip as a way to stay stable above her while listening to her voice. Small puffs left her open mouth as her eyes were tight shut, and soon enough the sound of chocked whines escaped her clamped teeth, coming out through the sound of small hiss, replacing them.
His other hand, more playful than the other, moved between their bodies all the way to her perked clit where two fingers rubbed small circles. She felt hot, her lower region burning intensely as the heat took over her numb legs all the way to her face where tears started to well up. And when she stuck her tongue out, ventilating herself, he dived to her, pressing his lips to hers and stuck his own muscle inside, the kiss messy and drool sullying both of their faces.
The mix of her drowned cries, their vibrations traveling along his very being down to his twitching cock, and the pleasure messing with any rational thoughts made his mind almost shut off. And as his mind began to numb out, he grabbed the back of her legs, right under her ass, pounding into her more harshly. He could feel her walls closing around him, sucking him in more and more each time he pressed a finger with more strength than necessary on her clit. His body felt hot, a feverish warmth making him lose all kinds of worries he may have had before. Shit, he was close, awfully close, as he thrusted faster under her cries of pleasure that she tried to swallow in quite the useless attempt as she was way too fucked to even care about properly covering them up at this point. The tip of his cock hitting the same spot repeatedly, if not almost desperately and definitely without any regards of her feeling — she could see through her tears the way he gritted his teeth as he looked down to where the two were connected with a determined look, and she could only kiss his cheeks over and over, as if drunk, to evacuate some of the pain and the fever clouding her mind. Was he close? He surely was, and she encouraged him, her lips moving closer and closer to his with each of the thrusts tipping her closer to the edge as she imagined the two of them sharing yet another steamy kiss.
It didn't take long for her to come, her walls closing around him to the point that it almost restricted any of his movements, and the tightness didn't fail to make him follow her. The feeling of him milking her, his seed warmer than expected, made her lose up. They were both sensitive, the aftermath still fresh and teasing them both as their breath synchronized, and when he pulled out, his semence not wasting a second to drip out, he fell next to her with a hiss.
After a few minutes, just taking in each other's presence without any care in the world, she eventually spoke up. "Aah, I need to wash, I'm so sweaty." She complained with a pout that could be heard in her voice. But instead of receiving an awkward and stuttered answer like she was expecting, she felt him freezing up next to her. Curious as to what caused him such a reaction, she turned to the side, her body drawing a pronounced curve from her hips, brushing a wet strand out of his eyes as he tried to avoid her gaze. "Is there a problem?"
He suddenly stood up, his back now facing her as he tried to think of what to say. "N-No it's just that…" he looked back at her with a frown, eyes trying not to look below her face as she was still pretty much naked and sprawled on his bed. "First years have to use the… communal shower room." And by the way she lost all the colors on her face he knew that she understood the implications of such things.
She took a nearby pillow and pushed it on her face as she was preparing for the possible insults that were tempted to leave her lips, the fabric of the pillow the security she needed if she wanted to keep Deuce away from her dirty language. Why were communal bathrooms a thing here too?! Especially in a school that was supposedly "high-class" as this was the latest thing that could be called classy! How was she supposed to clean herself up and remove the smell of sex clinging to her body if a student could come at any time and see her naked… And seeing her distress, Deuce quickly thought about something to help her with the current bathroom problem. He may be oblivious but coming up with solutions to problems was easy for him, although the solutions weren't always the brightest or the best ones (most often than not they only brought him more problema). He cleared the back of his throat to catch her attention, which he immediately got as she removed the cushion from her face and slightly raised her back so she could lean on her forearms from behind.
He muttered something incoherent under his breath, and she wondered just how red he could become, because he kept breaking records ever since he had entered the room. She leaned forward, putting on a kind smile that was supposed to help him calm down as she gently asked him to repeat, but it only made him fumble even more. "W-We can ba-bath to—… together?" And her mouth literally fell open at that. Did he really suggest what she thought he did when he couldn't even look her straight in the eyes because of how shy he was? It was…
"A good idea actually." She stated matter-of-factly as she looked at the ceiling with a pensive look on her face. So far he had only managed to come up with weird and destructive ideas — yes she's thinking about the chandelier incident — and for him to suggest something that would actually work was a pleasant surprise. He could surely hide her if they were to bath together. So she looked down at his face with a shy smile on her lips. “Should we go now then?” And as he nodded, he set the plan in stones.
So they switched to their clothes quickly, the stickiness of their sweat making her squirm as she remembered that she’d have to use them again to go back to her dorm, and made their way to the communal bathroom in the most discreet way possible. Lucky them, out of all the stalls, only one was free and they rushed to it, hiding behind the door before anyone could spot them. They removed their clothes just as quick, moving as fast as they could under the shower head so they could get done with it as soon as possible, but for some reason, now that they were both under the shower head, water, fog and heat surrounding them, they had reverted back to their shy selves, as if he hadn't been balls deep inside her not even half an hour ago. She feared being confronted again to her unsightly body, not only that, but he also had a good view of it from where he was standing. Would he finally see her imperfections? How some of her fat crease in the wrong way? What if didn't like the dips along her hips– Yet coincidentally so, his worry was exactly what she was dreading. He could indeed see her in all her glory, and he was ashamed to say it was arousing him once again. He was trying hard to keep his boner at bay, they were here to take a bath after all, and he didn't know if he could keep it any longer.
Because when she had started to wash her hair, arching her back forward to get as much water as possible, she accidentally moved back and her ass bumped into his hard-on, making the two of them freeze. He looked down to see the tip peaking against both of their bodies, her lower back still pushed against his waist as she tried to assess the situation. He was getting hard again! Just how much energy did he have for him to get aroused after less than ten minutes?! But no matter how much she acted surprised, her teeth playing her bottom lips shyly, she, too, was starting to ache down there. So in the most out of character idea she could have ever followed, she put her hands on the stall's wall, arching her back as she bent forward in a leisure motion, for him to properly understand what was going on and not freak out, and for her to get the motivation she needed. "That's awkward… But I kinda want to go back at it. What about you?" Grinding her hips against his, she turned her head to the side, watching from the corner of her eyes how he would react. And she felt yet another wave of arousal weakening her legs at the way he had moved a hand to carefully cradle her hips, a fond look overcoming his flushed face, before reciprocating her actions. It took any words away from her as she let her head roll back in front of her.
The grinding! The way she felt every bit of him, scorching hot and so defined, rubbing against her clit, the pure euphoria coursing through her body, the shrouded thrill of being heard, or worst even, caught red-handed by one of the student who would have decided that today was the day to jump over the stalls to peek and possibly mock someone over their dick size. Did he also feel it? Was he just as lost down all the pleasure building up in their cramped stall? When he tentatively pressed his tip against her entrance, still open and wet from their previous round not much earlier, was he anticipating the upcoming gratification just like her, waiting with so much eagerness that she felt her body shuddering? Whether he felt it or not didn't matter as soon as he pushed his dick inside her.
She bit her bottom lips hard, her throat hurting as she kept all the sounds in, and he finally slid inside her with one swift movement. She shut her eyes closed, her head falling forward as he drilled inside her cunt with a concentrated look overtaking his features. This view was better than the one before, seeing his shaft disappearing before his very eyes as her ass bounced against his lower stomach, even the arch of her back was teasing him, and he would have never thought that looking at someone from behind could be so fucking hot. He pressed a hand along her spine, caressing the skin still wet from the water gushing out of the shower head, and he could swear it made her clench around him for a moment there, which encouraged him to shift the angle to reach deeper inside her. And against his better judgment, a stupid idea came to his mind when he felt her walls even tighter around him.
Despite how hard she was trying, a whine left her when she felt his hands moving to hers and wrapping her fingers with his in such a delicate motion… She knew it, even if her mind felt muddy with how he was assaulting every last bit of her sanity each time he dived deeper, that it was a romantic gesture, something that didn't fit them as she didn't have any feelings for him, and she knew that he didn't sport any for her either. But unbeknownst to her, a dark curtain covered his face as his very presence loomed over her most humble one. His imagination was running through every possible scenario, slowly moving from most childish innocent ones to darker and unfit for him at first glance. What if he knocked her up right now? It would just be an accident… He could try and convince her to keep it so they could have a family together… Who would've known that his very first week at the school of his dream, the gathering of every villain, the Night Raven College, would be this rich in terms of new emotions.
But he quickly shook the idea away when he felt her walls fluttering around him, a hiss being taken out of him, but one that was covered up by the sound of the water cooling down both of their bodies. With much more force, he drilled inside her, the tip of his cock ruthlessly finding its way back to that one spongy spot that he was bullying so shamelessly in hopes of making her contract her muscles around him. He had already grown fond of this feeling, and he knew how to force her body to reproduce the action over and over, his greedy needs forcing her to bend to his wishes. The haze in her mind just made her go along with him, choking when he would aim higher, crying when he would thrusts harder, drooling when his fingers would torment her clit. But all too soon for his liking, he felt the tell-tale signs of his climax coming, his thighs rigid as warmth spread to his balls which clenched painfully. So with one last thrust, burying himself as deep as he could, he finally came, painting her walls white for the second time.
She shuddered, cuming not long after and feeling impossibly weak, forcing Deuce to maintain her body up to avoid any possible accident as she had started to tilt sideways. His cock was still inside her which almost made him follow her suit down their fall, but thankfully he put a hand on the wall before anything could happen, trying hard not to think about the clenching around it. The two stayed under the shower head, water still warm as it fell on their skin, but all too soon someone slammed their hand against the door, making the two of them jump out of surprise. "Yo dude! Whoever's in there, move already! The water's been running for fucking ages man!" The voice was rough, thankfully not owned by anyone she had met yet, and Deuce made sure to shout back that he would be fast. He removed himself from her, the fluids on his limp member were quickly washed off by the warm water, and worked on cleaning her right after. It was clumsy, fitting a nervous person like him, trying to scout anything he could out of her but refusing to touch her too much in fear of reigniting the heat inside him. So out of compassion for him who was struggling, she pushed him back, whispering into his ear that she would take care of herself and that he should wash himself. He nodded quietly and got to work. In less than five minutes the two of them had washed, dressed up, and were now peaking through the door to exit the communal bathroom without being seen.
Thankfully, the stalls were all being used, covering the sound the two made as they tried to escape the situation they were in, and no-one was in sight which prompted Deuce to leave first to scout the surroundings and make sure that she could follow. He made her a hand sign, prompting her to come, and not before long, the two of them left the bathroom with a fast pace, almost running to his room which made passers-by wonder just what in the world they were doing. And thankfully they didn't cross paths with Riddle who would've definitely questioned them about their whereabouts.
What was unexpected though, was for Ace to be waiting for the two of them, sitting on his bed with a pissed look. She didn't know what he wanted to talk about before, but now she had some kind of idea. How would she not… when the used condom Deuce had supposedly thrown inside the trash bin that just happened to be on the floor next to the basket, open and its content dripping out. By the look on Ace's she knew one thing for sure;
She was in for a shit show.
[excerpt]
Her step-brother, Shuichi Iguchi, was a fucking loser. She knew it from the moment she saw him. And not in a prejudiced way or anything, it wasn’t because he was a heteromorph. After all, she has plenty of heteromorph friends (none quite as extreme as him, but still!)
No, it was all the other things she noticed about him when he walked into the family restaurant with his Dad the first day they met. The way he carried himself, slouching and fidgeting endlessly, unable to decide if he should cross his arms, put them in his pockets, or keep them at his side. The way he dressed, a ridiculously faded crewneck, baggy cargo pants, and a freebie League of Legends snapback that only served to further curtain his greasy long hair in his face. When she actually managed to grab a glimpse of his eyes through the locks, it was only for a second, and they were constantly shifting, dropping, unspeakably nervous.
Even in a casual setting, he looked completely out of place. He practically jumped anytime anyone asked him the most basic of questions like “how’s school”, “what do you want to drink”, “can you pass the soy sauce”. It was like he’d just been dragged out of his bedroom for the first time in five years — and she wouldn’t have been surprised if that was the case.
She also wouldn’t have been surprised if this was the first time he’d ever been this close to a girl before, as he always looked especially panicked anytime he realized she was glancing at him, so she didn’t even really bother trying to talk to him that night, focussing instead on getting to know he future step-father — who seemed like an overall decent guy.
At the very least, Iguchi seemed to understand his status well. When she entered high school — the same one as him — he didn’t try to walk with her to or from school, didn’t try and talk to her, basically pretended like they didn’t even know each other, which she appreciated. She would’ve hated to have to be a bitch and tell him to get lost in front of all her new high school friends and potentially be reprimanded by her Mom to prove a point (of course, she would’ve if she had to).
Yes, her new step-brother was a fucking loser, someone she wouldn’t be caught dead talking to, let alone spending any meaningful time with in public.
And yet somehow, she was completely infatuated with him.
She loved the way his skin looked, the different viridescent shades it took on depending on what angle or lighting she saw it in. She loved even more the way it felt, the times when his hands brushed against hers when he handed her a bowl or she bumped shoulders with him, cool and impossibly smooth with a texture so different from her own. She’d wanted to run her hand across every inch of it, to feel every difference. Just imagining it pressing and rubbing all across her own body had her gasping into her pillow for hours.
She didn’t know how the fuck it happened. It would’ve been great if she did, because maybe she could make it unhappen then. But nope, the harder she tried to understand it, the further away the answer seemed to get.
Maybe it was because he was so different from her or anyone else she would ever actually consider dating. Had their parents not gotten married, she never would’ve let herself give Iguchi the time of day. But within the walls of this family home, she was able to enjoy and explore him to her heart’s content. She was inquisitive by nature. Her friends called it sadistic, but she saw it as just wanting to see how far she could take things. And the desire to do so to Shuichi Iguchi was no different. He was so sweet and so shy, so eager to please or be invisible to everyone around him.
She wanted to see where that ended, what exact buttons she could press to get him to actually snap at her.
It started with little things at first, innocent things. Asking him to do her chores, her homework, even her shopping, yet he could never say no to her. Not even when she asked him to go buy her a set of lacy lingerie she was wanting. He actually fucking did it — handing the little pink boutique bag out to her without looking her in the eye, his skin flushed all the way down to his neck. Oh, she knew then that he was going to be fun .
That with him, she could really get… creative.
Flirting with him shamelessly, hanging out on his bed in nothing but a pair of panties and a tank top she’d stolen from him while he played video games, throwing her legs over his lap during family movie nights, pretending she didn’t notice how warm and fidgety it made him while she continued to move her calves back and forth across his crotch.
There came a point when she thought that maybe the guy was just unbreakable, that he really didn’t have a single impure thought about her in his head and that this wasn’t a game, but just an infuriating (not to mention insulting ) exercise in futility.
But then, late one night, through the thin wall they shared, she heard it. The sound of flesh against flesh, muffled grunts.
Her name, breathy but distinctive, on his tongue.
Shuichi Iguchi, her dear, perfectly behaved, and endlessly timid older step-brother, was in his bed, jacking off.
Imagining her .
And it wasn’t a one time incident either. She listened closely in the following days, and discovered that it was a nightly occurrence, that she was a nightly occurrence to him. And it wasn’t long before she joined him in his fantasizing, spending night after night pressed as close into the wall as she could get, imagining that that stupid piece of plaster dividing their beds was gone, as she fingered herself to sleep.
It should’ve gotten easier after that, she should’ve been able to extend her patience knowing that it was an actual possibility now. But if anything, it made the burn within her even worse, knowing that it was so close yet so far out of reach. She didn’t just want this, she fucking needed this. But it’s not like she could let him know that. She couldn’t let him think that she wanted it, that she wanted him . She needed it to seem like mercy.
She needed to have the upperhand.
So, she started setting traps. Things she could use against him, to get him into the palm of her hand, a place where he didn’t say no just because he didn’t want to say no, but so that he couldn’t say no. She asked him to get things from her room and left sex toys out, wore skimpier and skimpier outfits that she could catch him staring at her in, left her phone out so that he could read her lewd messages to other boys at school.
Yet still, nothing.
Iguchi didn’t step a single clawed toe out of line outside of the four walls of his bedroom. He was the perfectly polite older brother that she knew and hated to love.
It wasn’t until she wasn’t even trying to trap him that he finally took the bait.
shut up shut up shut UP
think about this:
kate is fucking inconsolable, spiraling, so so so miserably sad. because here she is: one parent dead, one parent in jail (that she put there), a burned shell of an apartment, definitely concussed and a few fractured ribs thanks to kingpin. and she’s just gotten back to her mom’s empty penthouse from clint’s hallmark of family.
rottenly sad.
you know the kind of sad that even when your dog tries to cheer you up, it just makes you cry. so when lucky rests his head on kate’s shin after she tucks herself into the couch (that smells too much like her mom), she absolutely loses it.
but she hasn’t been alone. she hasn’t been alone since she went with clint to his home. or on her way back to new york city, or even up the stairs, definitely not when she turned the door handle. her shadow just didn’t know exactly know how to say hello. how to say: hey i’m sorry i tried to kill your mentor and i wasn’t there when kingpin beat the shit out of you and i might of went back to my hotel but i couldn’t stop thinking about you and wishing you were here in this lonely, lonely room with me where i can’t stop hearing that fucking whistle and i know, i just know, that you can fill up a silence and keep those memories away so i came looking for you but you’ve barely said a single word and now i’m worried and i can’t stop following you. when is the right time to say that?
probably not when kate is crying enough to create a new ocean. but when is a better time?
“kate bishop?”
kate is so surprised to the point of surpassing terrified and just going into acceptance. of course there’s an assassin waiting in the shadow of the window. of course she’s looking at kate like all she wants to do is wrap her up and never let her go - oh wait, is she? oh my god. she is actually doing that.
the couch dips under yelena’s weight and she’s pulling kate into her chest, her hands skimming across her back, her arms, softly smoothing out her hair. kate hurts in so many different ways. she’s twenty different shades a car crash. but here is yelena, with her own bruises and blood, pulling them both down to lay on the couch, keeping kate tucked against her chest. kate’s hands bunch into the fabric of yelena’s shirt and she’s crying, god she can’t help but cry.
and somewhere through the tears and the soft touch of yelena’s hand running through her hair, she hears a faint humming. and the crying starts fading into hiccuping as she tries to hear the song. her heartbeat slowing to match yelena’s. it’s low and rumbles through yelena’s chest, lulls kate into a quiet until she falls asleep, “so bye, bye miss american pie…”
𝕄𝕒𝕝𝕖 ℝ𝕖𝕒𝕕𝕖𝕣 𝕩 𝔹𝕒𝕞 𝕄𝕒𝕣𝕘𝕖𝕣𝕒
Plot: You all go swimming and some chick comes up and tries to flirt with you and Bam gets a bit jealous while watching. (Ya’lls friends don't help because they just tease him about it and it makes him even more jealous)
Setting: Iceland in the blue lagoon
><><><><
“Hanna you’re really letting yourself go, man,” Dico jokes, causing everyone to laugh and look at Hanna who replies, “I don't give a fuck,” which causes Bam to jump in and mumble “Pear ass body,” which causes everyone to erupt into laughter again.
Bam looks around while laughing trying to spot eyes on you and when he does his smile falters and his laughter fades out. Instead, a soft glare replaces it as he sees you on the other side of the lagoon talking to a random chick who was way too close for Bam’s liking. “Uh oh, look’s like [Y/N] switching teams,” Bam hears Rake say which makes his glare darken, “shut the fuck up,” Bam hisses, his eyes going back over to you and the random chick. She wasn't bad looking, skinny yet toned body, and black medium-length hair that had streaks in it. “Bam if he was a woman,” Ryan joked but it goes one ear out the other. Along with the comment about the tattoo, the chick had on her upper thigh and the other near her boobs. His fist clenched knowing that the chick would probably try and draw your attention there, “No more hearing Bam and [Y/N] getting it on at night, instead we’re gonna be hearing her.” One of the other boys had said which another replied by saying “That’ll be hotter to listen to,” and that broke Bam. He snaps around and yells “fuck you assholes! That skank isn't stealing [Y/N] from me!” He must have shouted a bit too loudly because all his friends were now looking at him weirdly until Dunn finally spoke up, “Dude they heard you say that,”
Bam stiffens at the realization and awkwardly turns his head toward your direction seeing you and the random lady both looking at you. He sees her giggle and you grin down at her and that causes his veins to boil with anger. When your eyes meet Bam’s he looks down before shaking his bangs out his face and looking away pretending to ignore you. You couldn't help but chuckle at how Bam was acting, quickly waving bye to the girl you make your way back over to your friends. “[Y/N] has a girlfriend,” Dico teases, “hell no, I’m taken,” you say which earns a snicker from Ryan and Rake when Bam chimes in by saying “By who, her or me?” You laugh softly at his bratty attitude, knowing that there was no bite behind those words. “Might be her if you keep your attitude up,” you joke which makes everyone else laugh and react but it only earns a scoff and an eye roll from Bam. “Fine, she can have you,” Bam retorts, going to get out of the water but you quickly grab his wrist and pull him back in. “Baby I’m kidding,” You cooed, turning Bam around to wrap your arms around his waist. Smiling softly at the pout that formed across his lips. “You know that I only want you,” You continued, seeing how his face started to flush a small shade of pink. “You better, asshole,” he mutters which makes you grin before you plant a small kiss on his pout. “You done pitching now?” you joke, moving your hands from his waist to grip his hips pulling him closer. You see his gaze glance over to what you assume to be the chick and when you glance over as well you are correct. Before you can say anything you feel lips crash onto yours, a tongue slipping its way into your mouth. You hum into the kiss knowing what he’s doing, so you decide to play his little game back. You move your hands up to cup the sides of his face, your nails digging into his skin as you deepen the kiss as much as you can. You keep him like this until you start to hear him huffing and panting into the kiss, you take his bottom lip in between yours and pull on it gently before letting it go which earns a groan from Bam. Seeing his half-lidded eyes flutter open to meet yours. “Now are you done?” you ask, your grin reappearing when he nods and takes your hand into his. You glance over quickly to see that the chick is now gone and you can't help but shake your head with a small laugh. Well, at least Bam got what he wanted.
tolerate it
Alex Turner x Reader (am era !)
written by: me, first time doing angst
requested by: @bellaturner <3
music for the fic: tolerate it by Taylor Swift
word count: 1.9k
warnings: angsty, sad, slight sexual references and pushing about
The future looked bleak for them but for Alex, it had never been more bright. He had recently cut his hair short, Y/N hated it. He claimed it was for the new album but all she could see was her teenage love fading away before her eyes. Their love was something the tabloids had praised from the dancefloor days. "The High School Sweethearts of Sheffield" plastered on the front page of newspaper after paper, her face started to come out of print in the last year.
Y/N found herself perched on yet another stool out of the frame of the newest photoshoot of her boyfriend, scrolling her phone aimlessly and barely noticing Alex's next move. If those ridiculous rockabilly sunglasses left his face, Y/N might have taken interest but at Alex's rate, they had likely been surgically screwed to his nose bridge.
He posed relentlessly and attempted to look over at Y/N, realizing she had no idea what was even happening. Once that was clear, Alex huffed and rolled his eyes beneath the shades, remaining focused on the shoot because he couldn't care less about her opinion at this moment. He was Alex Turner: the acquitted persona of rock and roll in Britain; Olympic opener and soon to be Glastonbury sensation yet again.
----------------------------------------------------------
The shoot concluded in due time and Y/N mumbled to herself, "Thank fucking god." as she threw my phone into her bag and stood up. Alex read her lips and huffed slightly with frustration, as he thanked the photographer and went to leave. They met at the door and he nodded at her wordlessly, not wanting to talk to her til they had a minute to discuss her annoyance. She led them out and they stood at the cub by the door of the studio: Alex immediately got his cigarettes out and offered her one,
"Fuck off with that." Y/N scolded him viciously, "It doesn't make you cool." Alex sighed and pulled out his lighter, a silver Zippo with the band's initials carved into it.
"You used t'smoke, me luv. 'member at The Leadmill when you'd pass em owt to anyone?" Alex reflected as he lit the cigarette. Y/N noticed his accent slip at the use of "the" and looked down.
"I was a kid, Al. We found them around Jamie's that one weekend." She muttered in response to try to entertain his idea, not wanting to see that version of her Alex relay nostalgia to her.
He smiled slightly with an exhale as he looked over, "Oh yeh, he still talks about tha, tha knows. Still got ya tho.." He tried to cheer her up because he did love her endlessly but he knew this was a lot for her to process.
----------------------------------------------------------
The last few months had been frequent fights and sex to make up for it all, where Alex would promise nothing had changed and it would be ok until the next designer jacket would come home and rinse repeat. No amount of money could fix it either for Y/N. Yes, it was nice to be personally styled for an awards show but where Alex would come home and laugh all night with her being himself again, the persona never dropped nowadays.
Y/N nodded and went on her phone to call the taxi, letting Alex finish the cigarette in silence as she stepped away and only demonstrated the metaphoric distance between them. She spoke quietly and got the taxi booked, forcing herself not to think of Sheffield, circa 2005. Sitting on the curbside, her lips never leaving Alex's the whole way home. Drunk and giggling at the way the city looked at night from the taxi window. He'd carry her home as she kicked her legs with excitement to be in bed with him yet again. However here she stood with a smartphone and a man she no longer recognised as the love of her life.
As the taxi pulled up, Y/N opened her own door and got in, finally looking over at her boyfriend as she spoke to the taxi driver promptly, desperately wanting to be in solitude. She looked at him with a neutral look of almost curiosity, searching for any and if so, some glimmer of hope in him and love that would last. No dice. Alex looked over and offered her his hand to hold, a common quirk of his. Y/N took it and looked out the window, the tears pricking at her eyes as the taxi pulled off. A solemn silence hung over them like a ghost in the passenger seat the whole journey home. It could be dealt with at the house, like usual.
----------------------------------------------------------
As the taxi rounded the corner by the house, Alex thanked the driver and nodded at Y/N to say, "in we go." Y/N offered the taxi driver a thank you as well and stepped out of the car, letting Alex open the door and not even attempting to get her keys from her bag. Alex unlocked the door and kicked off his shoes, leaving Y/N to shut it and lean on the wall of the hallway.
"What the fuck is up nah?" Alex started the argument, making Y/N prick up. He finished the conflict but it was unusual for him to bring up an issue without prompt. Alex stood arms crossed at the silence before removing his glasses and rubbing his temple. "Just tell me, please Y/N."
"Why did I have to come to that?" Y/N met his tone and removed her own shoes. "That's the third this week…" She continued and reminded him of how much this weighed on her schedule.
"Well excuse meh for bein successful suddenleh, didn't seem t'bother you when I were 19…" Alex retorted to push her buttons yet again with the memories of their relationship. He tried to walk off to go get a drink, he'd been drinking a lot more frequently since the fighting started. While Alex could hold his drink, it was a new habit he had picked up with the look.
"Yeah well my teenage boyfriend with spots had some fucking intellect not to just lap at anyone who offers him a moment in the spotlight!" Y/N raised her voice and rolled her eyes, trying to stop him from drinking, "I swear if I see you drinking again for another night…" she continued in the cold tone.
"Oh fuck off, 'm 27 now and so are you, act it." He said sternly and lightly pushed her out of his way. "I'll do what I wan, babe" He stormed off to the kitchen to get a glass and the bottle of whiskey on the side, half empty from how often he had been consuming it.
Y/N followed in a huff and tried to keep fighting him, "You really wanna talk about acting, Alexander? What the fuck are you wearing?" She scanned his body and outfit of a leather jacket and tight blue jeans, making Alex smirk slightly as he knew what to do.
"Jeans, you like em babeh?" He tried to give her the eyes that said "you want me really" and stood over her to offer her an embrace. "Can get me out of em if you're nice to meh…" He chuckled softly and held her lower back where he was met with a scoff and a push.
"Get off me, James Dean. Tell me when Alex is back…" She went to sit at the table, making Alex huff and turn back to his drink with annoyance.
"You make me fucking drink…" He mumbled to himself quietly enough for her to miss it. "I'm not gonna be tha kid anymore, you do realize tha, reyt?" He announced as he poured the whiskey and recapped the bottle. "I hate who I were, a spotteh teenager with a squeaky voice on stickeh stages an people throwing shit at meh." He turned to her and finally admitted.
"I fell in love with that kid, Alex." Y/N let the truth slip too, "and I still do love him, ok?" he continued as she looked down sadly, sniffling at the words. "My Alex is gone, he was my home, my safety and you're just this husk of who he was. You're everything we mocked in bars while I waited to hear the same 10 songs every night." Her voice trembled at it all as she looked up at him where all his anger had turned to sympathy yet again.
"But babeh…you could make new memories with new Alex." He heard himself and mentally cursed at his words but persisted on: "We could 'ave a famileh and get married and the band will onleh get more famous and you'll reap t'benefits wiv us.." He tried to reassure her as he leaned down to get her level. "We could be happy again one day, me love. This is just a rough patch…"
----------------------------------------------------------
Y/N listened intently and her face soured at the idea that the band was involved with the future of them. She thought and chose her words carefully as she knew the band's importance to him, especially with him bringing it up here.
"Alex, it's not been a rough patch for you though, has it? The tears started welling up in her eyes, continuing through the melancholy. "You'll be ok, babe. I just won't be. My boy is gone and maybe that's the problem. I'm just not happy anymore…"
His face dropped and his chest went tight when he heard her claims, "You're n-not 'appy? As in wiv me or??" His voice shook as he spoke quietly, staring at her with torment. "I can get ya someone to talk ta, I promise babeh please…" He begged at her feet practically.
Y/N shook her head and looked down, "I'm so sorry, Alex…I love you so much but this version of you, I'm not in love with him. Please just make me proud…" She gasped between sobs and watched the tears roll down her chest. Alex's eyes began to water at the realization of the situation, the blunt actuality of her saying that to his face. How long has she been thinking of telling him?
"Are ya sayin what I think you're sayin?" Alex mumbled as he wiped his nose slightly. Y/N simply nodded and he sighed to himself, "Well shit, tha's about 10 years of me life gone. Is there anythin I can do at all to change yer mind?" He pleaded incessantly through his tears. "I love you, Y/N. Please…"
Y/N sat up straight and held his face softly, kissing his head, "It's ok Alex, we're just different people, darling…" She wiped her eyes and smiled gently at him. "I love you too, Al."
The knife stuck in and twisted at the nickname, it was hers from the moment she muttered it at 17 when they met. Alex's eyes were full of sadness but he nodded and tried to smile, "I understand and I respect yer decision but you do realize t' next album is gonna be so bloodeh sad nah…" He managed a laugh that Y/N echoed.
"Oh yeah, I want sad proses about me now…" She cupped his face and delivered the last kiss, "if that boy ever wants to come back to see me again, he's more than welcome…" She said softly and wiped his eyes with a smile. He nodded and smiled back.
"I think this might be t' soppiest breakup ever…" Alex hums, stands up to get his drink and reaching for another glass before turning to her,
"One for the road?"
If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
No one wanted to play with me as a little kid, so I've been scheming like a criminal ever since - to make them love me and make it seem effortless.
I'm only cryptic and Machiavellian because I care...
Beatrix Sakamaki hcs
Beatrix is handsome.
She takes in nearly every way after her father with her striking gunmetal blue eyes, her strong jaw, and her height.
Those dreamers’ eyes were the softest shades of blue circling one another, like the hypnosis of cerulean.
They were framed by long caramel blonde lashes. She had deep-set eyes, one would think they were unfocused and lethargic if not for her rehearsed icy glares shades of brandished steel striking through the blue.
Not to mention their shared standoffish demeanour, however, her father is chased and admired as the steadfast and mysterious Duke of Calabria. She is the self-centred, ice princess who thinks she is better than others.
How strange is that?
Not to mention her monstrous fangs, it was the talk of society, an abnormality. Most vampiric women had lethal fangs but they were long, thin, and elegantly curled in.
Beatrix inherited her war hero father’s large fangs that would slice the flesh of her lips as a child if she wasn’t careful, they were thick and long, glistening with paralysing venom, one wrong move and she could rip one’s throat clean out. It was commanding and they were a clear symbol of an apex predator.
Some find it alluring as there are very few records of women having such ferocious teeth, some find it insulting, a ducal princess having such a feature is vulgar and unladylike.
Others are tempted to know how it feels, after all, vampires experience another’s bite under 2 conditions. When they’re locked in battle or a lover’s embrace. As a way of signifying belonging to another or dominance of the fiercer vampire, even among men such a fearsome trait was rare.
Her height was another factor that stood out; vampires were no dainty creatures, reaching up to 6’8 or 7' 0, but very few women, especially those of the aristocracy, were over 5 '11. Whereas Beatrix reached 6’3, dwarfing her brothers. Yet even as she stood out, heads turning to her approach, very little had seen hesitance in her footfalls.
Everything about her is purposeful.
The person you stare at in envy because she looks like a creation of Pygmalion comes alive. So utterly fantastic to look at with her fluid motions, and sharp angular features carved of marble creating a creature that invokes a sense of inferiority.
Do not be mistaken these circumstances do not mean she lacked the feminine allure, her mother Adelaide was infamous throughout high society for her beauty, to the extent many would whisper she had the blood of fæ. It was evident if the rumoured blood of fæ did exist, Beatrix had inherited it.
But she is sensible and self-deprecating, with a timid air around her, speaking when spoken to, centring herself as a wallflower.
With her mother’s flaxen blonde hair, with thick curls that glistened like Apollo’s. It was radiant, tousled naturally just so, curling around her pale face almost creating a halo-like barrier separating the veil of reality and the ethereal.
Her face was pale like milk, unblemished, with no unsightly blotchy flush, sheen like crushed pearls, a youthful inquisition imprinted upon such a face that it would not fade even as the years wore at her;. a philosophical beauty if one was ever made. The mathematicians would be driven mad by the perfect proportions of such a face.
The golden ratio as they said.
Aside from a triangle of moles on the side of her forehead. With dark arching brows and adorably feminine lips, no matter how hard she tried her poker face, they were set in a pout, a pale peach-pink that complimented her wintertime shades.
Her hands are thin and nimble from long hours of perfecting her letters for her household, they are pronounced at her knuckles, with rosy nails always kept small and tidy. The constellations of needle pricks along her arms were covered in the kingdom’s finest lace.
The face of regrets, she had this intense aura with her long straight nose that she would observe you from as well as her slender neck and collarbones like that of a swan, decorated by precious gems.
Women gripping their sanity when she speaks to them, looking down at them, her eyebrow arched and her lips pulled into this smirk, an amused yet indecipherable face, smarter, stronger, more chivalrous than their pathetic fiancés. Countless handkerchiefs dropped just to hold her attention, foolish excuses of tired legs as they occupy her table at banquets, brought along to dinner parties with picture-perfect poise as they take hidden glances at this dreamlike entity.
Her most appealing feature (to a man at least - to most her existence itself so paradoxical you could not look away) would be her legs, she had a dancer's poise. Her slender figure curved into wide-set hips, and strong legs with taut muscles.
To her it's all just a burden, her slim pear silhouette just means her corset has to be tighter to emphasise it.
All in all, she looked like the idealistic vampiric woman, with her inscrutable expression, practised politeness, and gentle voice with the sophistication that the affluent lorded over.
Her voice is quite a nasty thing, it’s quiet, throaty, and feminine. It’s commanding, a declaration of someone so obviously of the upper echelon, with her mixed accents of the knowledge of more languages - dead or alive- than one could even name.
It made you feel centred when she talked to you, concentrating only on you, her lips moving inpatient syllables, the attention was flustering, but it was flattering.
But when she smiled? Those rare unpractised uncertain smiles that came with the hesitance of one who wasn't used to joy? She was the most stunning woman in the eyes of the beholder.
She looked her best in her bruised colours. They complimented her golden blonde locks as they fell against bodices of the shades of twilight. Always neatly tied out of her face, even such untameable hair was placed with the purpose to enhance her face.
At her debutante, it was for the sake of her family flaunting their newest offer for the marriage market, or to showcase her dress from the seamstress sponsored by her family, or her earrings from her family's diamond mines.
A perfect political piece. One that raked in just the right amount of attraction without shoving herself out like a harlot, her audience’s shallow curiosity that could never uncover her swallowed secrets pushed down to the bottom of her stomach allowing her to put duty first, such a well-rehearsed puppet it was no wonder no one had ever cracked past her facade.
And I could recite about that beauty of hers for many more pages, but there lay such charm in her sardonic wit that I'd truly be doing her an injustice with just flattered vanity of her physical appearance.
When the water washes away the dark liner, power and rogue blush it reveals tired eyes tinged with lilacs from sleepless nights pouring attention over old, cracking books, possessed by a mind with far more ideas than her body could ever contain.
Her conversations with Mr Moon and the ceiling were never-ending, feet pacing back and forth, curls tugged in frustration, a pathetic figure curled in the warm water of the tub during the witching hour. Her matted hair is wet as she seeks warmth; a cigarette lit between her lips, already the third one. Evident by the other buds in the ashtray yet it is only a prelude to all the other substances she will smoke before attempting to bear with her stifling family at breakfast where her brother’s hateful stares and her father’s refusal to sit at the same table will erase her appetite so she fills herself with the dizzying smoke in preparation.
Rather than the princess in the glasshouses, she is the glasshouse.
Even though she is effortlessly beautiful, she is an absolute mess if left to her own accords.
Her hair was tossed together in a ridiculous excuse of an updo framing her face in the privacy of her attic regardless of whether it was wet or knotted, all alone slouched over the library chairs, hands turning pages of journals that should be falling apart.
Her tongue slips past her fangs, a teasing pink, as she concentrates—chapped lips and a dry throat, a hunger so desperate to fill the void.
So focused on the past not wanting to live in the present.
She spends her days cooped in the West Wing’s library long abandoned since Adelaide’s death, skipping the family dinner times and seeking refuge in a dusty salon sipping soup from her maids tin can, she blocks out the scornful looks - stealing the tiniest amounts of power hidden in her brother’s waistcoat, her sharp accent slurred into something softer and more compassionate - almost human on her fall from divinity.
Cautiously, weaving lies to hide the large secrets in her larger mansion.
Familiar with the dark attic where long hours are spent, the rusted phonogram has been playing the same tunes since she was a child. Long limbs glistened with sweat, stretching and bending. Twirling and twisting, the music slithering into her bones, guided by pure instinct and primal need to continue this solo piece for hours on end, surpassing perfection till her bloody feet, blue and black now dyed bloody red, had created her masterpiece on the floor.
At her core she was a dancer first, a slave to the muses, discarding all to glide in a castle of salt and sand made from soft notes to the tempestuous thundering of instruments. Only broken feet to prove it.
Yet she was sharper than she ever let on, books tucked under her arm snuck into her room, jam stains smeared on them as she carelessly turned pages, folded her pages as her attention is dragged away to another, ink-stained hands noting her discoveries cramming pages that had been filled when no other journals were found and she filled notebooks away with her thoughts only returning to write more about her mundane life, the lines squeezed with the pressure of recording her.
An attempt to immortalise herself, to prove her existence, to stop herself from becoming a nobody that nobody will remember.
They were stacked alongside the walls, making her protective fortress of loneliness, crates of chalk used up as she wrote up equations and erased them upon her walls, spewing the voices in her head across them.
Her inquisition continues. What was the point in starting something if she couldn’t see it through?
She was no lady, not here at least, they could herald her as their porcelain puppet out there but here. In the drab rooms, just past the insect-bitten velvet curtains, the light shone on a little dirty diamond. Unfortunately, her walls had ears.
Jars of stored specimens, dirt so deep under her nails from the dusks and dawns when her silent steps discovered what lay beyond her gilded castle, but her excuses were flimsy for all her intelligence the language of people came weak.
Her brothers raided her rooms of adventure, smashing bottles, tearing and burning pages of long nights, the tiniest mistakes led to unimaginable consequences.
Accusations hurled, the scorn and misplaced anger toppled its boiling cauldron.
God forbid anyone heard her pleas, her father who had long forsaken her too burdened with the sight of his wife’s killer. Her phonogram was in so many pieces, that even her skilled fingers rearranging the coils and metal pieces could not resurrect it.
So she escaped, for more and more days, the hours stretched until she escaped from her tower. Disguises and lies freely flowed and she perfected her art, but all her achievements outside her snowglobe led to harsher winters within.
Unfortunately, children who are starved accept all that is given, the warmth of the outside made her forget how filthy it was. It dragged her down, and the wrong people started seeking her, but it made her feel wanted so she followed the tune of the piper, it was a shelter of delusion and exploitation.
Till that too shattered and she transcended the basic wants and needs.
Perhaps that is where her loathing for the outside world came from, the poison far too deeply attached to her haemoglobin, flowing through her beating heart and corrupting all.
But every action has an opposite effect and consequence, and the cane, the choice of weapon her executioner had chosen, broke her apart further than she had ever been before.
As her facade came apart there was only one solution really, to send the doll shop back to the toy shop for parts to be switched out and replaced, once more winded to perfection till it fell apart again.
She arrived at her new home ‘ Grimhilde’s Academy for Noble Ladies’, on a drizzling January morning.
