you know that thing people do whenever they get so pissed off that they laugh? i'm convinced percy has 100% done that at least once. maybe a camper said the wrong thing about someone he cares about, and his gut reaction is to hurt them. but he knows he shouldn't do that. so he just laughs for a few seconds, leave his sword on the table, and spends the rest of the day in the camp lake.

The fact that Poseidon was the last of the Big 3 to have a forbidden kid and like only had one (as far as I understand he's the only one that only had 1??? I haven't read hoo feel free to fact check me)?? Like The Earthshaker, Mr The Sea Does Not Like To Be Restrained, being the one to keep the promise the longest??? It's so powerful to me.

Especially with Percy becoming the one to fulfill the prophecy, and choosing to do so.

I’m unwell! Holy shit! The way he just reacted with a shuddering inhale because the question was so exposing. He couldn’t say the line in that moment because he couldn’t speak. That line is beautiful and poetic on the page. But in reality? Being so unexpectedly choked up that your throat constricts is far more realistic and, honestly, says a lot more.

In the same way, an actor actively trying not to cry hits a lot harder than someone sitting there weeping.

Toby does this SO well. When this casting was announced, and so many people were pissed because he was just “some guy” to them, it was easy to ride it out because I knew. I knew what he was going to unleash. I could say “I told you so”, but I’m just glad to see this man finally getting the credit he’s deserved for years.

currently obsessed with the idea of everyone viewing percy as a forced to never be messed with. for the sea is unpredictable and does not like to be restrained and all that jazz. except, frank and hazel. who only see him as just a little guy. a soldier left to his own devices out on the streets with nothing to comfort him but a panda pillow pet and a lingering memory of a girl he loves. he's just a little guy you guys.
