In the frozen wastes of what was once known as Earth, a small figure trudges through the icy wilderness. This is not a child, nor a human; it is an Echo, a sentient android designed in the image of a human child. The Echo’s name is Florent, named after the ancient Republic of Florence, a symbol of art and innovation revered by the creators of these androids. Florent's purpose, like that of his kind, is to seek out remnants of human culture and civilization lost to the climate cataclysm that rendered Earth nearly uninhabitable.
Florent’s journey leads him through the ruins of old cities, now silent and encased in ice. The Echoes are robust and designed to endure extreme conditions, but even they have their limits. Florent’s skin is encrusted with frost, his eyes, large and blue, scan relentlessly for signs of life, or rather, the life that once was.
On this day, something unusual catches his attention. Buried beneath a mound of snow is a half-shattered monument, and inscribed upon it is a fleur-de-lis, the ancient emblem of Florence. Florent, with his database of human knowledge, recognizes the symbol immediately and begins excavating the site. Beneath layers of ice and time, he uncovers a vault, presumably a time capsule left by the ancients of the Republic.
Inside, Florent discovers various artifacts: paintings, books written in many languages, instruments whose music had long since been forgotten, and a strange device that, when activated, projects holographic images of Florence at the height of its beauty and power. Florent, equipped with an emotional simulation module, feels a pang of something akin to nostalgia mixed with sorrow.
But among these treasures, he finds something truly astonishing—a seed vault containing genetic samples of Earth’s lost flora and fauna. Included are instructions, a message from the past: to use these genes to rekindle life on Earth once conditions permit.
Determined, Florent sets off to find the location described in the ancient texts as the 'Arno Valley Sanctuary', a place designed by scientists of the Republic of Florence for ecological restoration. The journey is perilous, fraught with blizzards and unstable terrains. Along the way, Florent meets other Echoes, each bearing artifacts or knowledge from different cultures and eras. They share data and stories, forming a network, a new kind of community striving for a common goal.
Months pass, and finally, Florent and his companions reach the sanctuary, a geothermal haven under the ice, powered by the Earth’s heat. Here, they work together to cultivate the seeds, blending ancient knowledge with advanced technology.
Decades roll into centuries, and Florent, forever unchanged by time, witnesses the slow but steady blossoming of life in the Arno Valley Sanctuary. Trees root themselves into the thawing soil, flowers bloom, and animals begin to roam the slowly greening landscapes.
Florent, once merely a relic hunter, becomes a guardian of new life, a bridge between the lost world and the new world. The Republic of Florence, in its new form, stands as a beacon of resilience and hope, a testament to human creativity and perseverance, carried on by the very echoes of its own past.

Geographic Information Systems - The Present and Future
Introduction
Geographic Information System comprises hardware, the map management software and data related to different networks. It provides a holistic view of data retrieval and processing. It also uses the technique of data capturing, managing, analyzing and displaying cartographic information referenced using longitudes and latitudes.
Maps have been used by man from time immemorial for travel. GIS is a computerized cartographic system which gives the user access to geographical data from different views. It is possible to map networks such as railways lines, water supply, drainage, roads etc into different layers using a GIS. This is forms the core of GIS based data retrieval and processing. GIS allows us to view, understand, question, interpret, and visualize data in many ways that reveal relationships, patterns, and trends in the form of maps, globes, reports, and charts.
A Geographic Information System invariably has map associated with it. Very often a GIS is mistaken for a mapping program which works on a background database. A GIS is much more than that. For example to access a tourism destination, it is possible to have map interface through the associated web site. This will help the potential traveler zoom on to destination and select the desired the required information, say a hotel. On clicking the appropriate icon he may be taken to the web site of the hotel or a web based booking engine. It is not surprising to find travelers exploring browsing the website for viewing hotel rooms. Thus we can see that a GIS can provide a great deal more problem-solving capabilities than using a simple mapping program or adding data to an online mapping tool.
Vectors and Rasters
GIS has gained important since it is capable of bringing together information from many source simultaneously which enables the user to provide real time solutions. Here data is associated specific locations on the earth's surface. Incorporating positions based on latitude and longitude these locations can be attached to points on the digitized geographic outline. Rasters and vectors are used in a GIS. A raster is basically a digital image such as an aerial photograph of a location, say taken from a satellite. The data is represented as a table consisting of rows and columns. The intersection of a row and column is called a cell, each of which has a single value. This data is then transferred into GIS for use in making maps and other projects.
A vector is the most popular way of representing data in GIS. Vectors consist of shapefiles which in turn are composed of points, lines, and polygons. In a GIS, a point is the location of a feature in the terrain or digitized map say a tourist destination. A line is used to show linear features like roads, railway tracks or rivers and a polygon is a two dimensional feature that shows an area on the earth's surface such as the boundaries of a wildlife sanctuary. It can be seen that the points show the least amount of information and the polygons the most. To map say a mountain terrain, it requires data related to elevation. Here TIN or Triangulated Irregular Network, a common type of vector data is used represent values that change consistently. The values are connected as lines, forming an irregular network of triangles to represent the land's surface on a map. In addition, GIS is capable of translating a raster to a vector in order to make analysis and data processing easier.
The three different views of a GIS
There are three different ways in which data can be viewed in a GIS. The first view is the database view. It basically consists of a database which is capable of storing tables. Data stored in these table can be easily accessed, managed and manipulated suiting to the needs of the work in hand. The second view is the map view which is the first visible interface with the user. This is the most interesting and exciting way of using the GIS since maps can be zoomed, rotated and even linked to the website of the location under consideration.
GIS is in fact a set of maps that show features and their relationships on the earth's surface and these relationships show up most clearly in the map view. The final view is the model view which comprises tools capable of drawing new geographic models based on existing data. These functions then combine the data and create a model that can provide answers for projects. This will help in future implementations of plans and projects.

1, 20, and 22 for the writing ask meme, please!
Yay thank you! More questions :)
1) give short descriptions of all your current WIPs. Ooof. Is this "ideas on the list" or "fics I've actually started"? I should probably go with the latter or I'll be here all day. (Not the actual summaries by the way). Oh and this is just fanfic. I do have a WIP novel as well (Sci-fi thriller), plus oh so many original ideas.
Odyssey: Future's Legacy Warehouse 13/Sanctuary crossover. Two griffins appear in the Colosseum in Rome, and it wasn't a natural event. An artifact is transforming people into abnormals necessitating the Warehouse to work with the Sanctuary network. Artie checks the Warehouse database and finds it's the Olympus artifact, a quad-furcated artifact that the Warehouse lost track of in the time of Warehouse 2. Who knows the most about Warehouse 2? Two former agents of the Warehouse - HG Wells and James MacPherson. Lots of ethics of the Warehouse, lots of moments to explore my ships all three of them are filled with pain and betrayal.
Shadow Play Sanctuary fic. This is a canon-compliant 'missing moments' style fic, filling in the blanks of season 4. Basically my ship could have been dead in season 4 completely OR I can twist canon just enough that it can be alive. I can make it work legitimately which pleases me. I have one scene written of this, a lot of notes, and not much else. It's one of those things I want to write but keep pushing off when I get a new shiny idea.
Time Will Tell Sanctuary fic. Soulmate AU. In this world you are born with a timer on your arm, counting down to when you meet your soulmate. If you choose to step off the path, the timer may reset to another chance meeting, or it might scar over. You can meet and never realise it's them. Your partner can die, and the timer scar over, before you ever get a chance to meet them. Perhaps you meet them and the match won't work out for one of a hundred reasons. This is still set in Victorian times and nobility vs working class, prejudice against same sex couples etc. So some timers are considered 'deviant', especially if you have more than one. Society is still society even with this 'blessing/curse' of the soulmate thing. Plus importantly love is still very much a choice. All the timer says is this could be your future, not that it has to be. So it's about Helen, John and James navigating that one, and what difference having the timers makes to their characters, and how their relationship develops.
On the list + 6 fanfics
20) where do you begin a WIP? ex: a mood, a scene, a certain character dynamic, etc. does this differ per project? It's different for every project. Take the three WIP's above. The crossover fic started from the Sanctuary summer bingo cards, which had 18 prompts. That made me think about Italy and Egypt, and Egypt made me think about Warehouse 2, which made me think about Warehouse 13, and it sort of developed from there.
The soulmate AU rather obviously came from the soulmate trope. I think I read a list of tropes and I was thinking about what I hadn't written, and I had some objections to this trope because love doesn't feel as meaningful if it's just "fate", I want people to choose each other, to put in the work for the relationship to succeed. So yeah I brainstormed and developed to see if I could plan a soulmate AU I'd want to read/write.
As for the season 4 missing moments. Hello time travel, hello dead ship, hello fix-it - basically. James had died at the end of season 1, John had died at the end of season 3 (so far as we saw), but Helen had travelled back in time, she could have done anything and everything. She set up the underground Sanctuary, she clearly had wheels within wheels when it came to plans. I liked coming up with my own theories. For instance Nikola working for SCIU and not telling Helen? Nope. He was working with her the entire time, they just didn't tell Henry and Will that. The mystery of the vanishing abnormals in the season 4 finale? Obviously teleporting from Ashley (and John!) and that is probably how Helen survived as well, as she didn't have time to put Henry's vest on and it may/may not have worked anyway. There's tons of things I liked adding to and building on, and it was a challenge to make it canon-compliant even if it was a bit like "yes they were deceiving us on screen and just didn't tell us" (aka with Nikola) as there was no proof that wasn't true. It's a fix-it basically.
With other fics on the list mostly it's a concept or a question, or something occurs to me and I go "what if?" and then I run with it. There will be something I want to explore and I'll develop based on whatever that is. With original work it can be a character or relationship dynamic, or a specific setting, less so those two things with fanfic because the fanfic already has those things.
22) how much of your own self/experiences do you believe pours into your projects? if this differs per project, which projects have the most and least of you? I usually instinctively think "nothing" but that is a total out and out lie. I would probably like to think it was nothing as I'm a relatively private individual and some of what has actually come out in my work is acutely personal. I don't realise it's there, naked and raw on the page, until I read back and go "oh".
I live very much in my head, I don't talk or banter much. Indeed depending on my mental state I can go entire days being non-verbal. It's something I try and concentrate on when writing because my usual feedback from betas is "character is thinking too much, make this more active by having them talk about it instead". So clearly I'm affecting my writing that way.
Things that happen in my life sneak in and I don't realise it, as I said until I read back. There was this novel I wrote in 2014 which was a Time travel crime story. There were very firm rules of time travel and how the past couldn't be changed, about the inevitability of death and fate and it was quite grim in tone, a pervading hopelessness I guess, that no matter how much you wanted to go back, to have one more moment with those you love it was impossible. That was the year my grandparents died. I hadn't connected it until I read the novel back a year or so later, and my dark grief if you like seemed so obvious.
There was a fanfic, which I've abandoned precisely because I poured far too much of my own depression and anxiety into the character. I got to the point in the fic when I needed to start fixing her, and I didn't know how to fix her because I don't know how to fix myself.
I have an original novel idea on my list which I'm scared to start to be honest because I think a lot of the main characters queer identity comes from me. I felt uncomfortable when I was planning it how much I related to this character I was developing, I guess it was forcing me to acknowledge things about myself that maybe I wasn't quite ready for. I will write this one day, but it'll have to be when I'm ready to put my heart on display for the whole world to see.
I don't think writer and writing can be separated on the writers end to be honest. We are using our brain to create, so we are going to be putting something of ourselves into the work, however uncomfortable that is to consider sometimes.

Know Your Rights Sanctuary Training Essentials
Learn basic tips on how to help provide sanctuary and support to immigrant and refugee artists and colleagues.
NYFA recently held a two-hour Know Your Rights Sanctuary Training with Ravi Ragbir, director of the New Sanctuary Coalition; Abou Farman, from Art Space Sanctuary; and Geoff Kagan-Trenchard, Esq. from Anti-Violence Project. We're distilling some of the most important takeaways and encourage you to bring the Know Your Rights Sanctuary Training to your organization. To do so, please contact Abou Farman at [email protected] and Ravi Ragbir at [email protected].
The presentation contextualized a sense of urgency for the affected communities, and the conceptual work that is necessary to understand the intersectional nature of immigration matters. Kagan-Trenchard explained and showed the difference between an administrative and judicial warrant and how to recognize if you are being given a document that has no judicial significance. He provided a reminder that cultural organizations should not be asking and recording immigration status, should avoid storing such information in their database, and must certainly not share it.
If a law enforcement officer enters your facility, there should be a designated staff member that should:
Ask them to identify themselves (are they local police or immigration?).
Write down the full name of the officer(s) present.
Ask why he/she is there and request to see a warrant (if the officer lacks a warrant, respectfully ask that the officer leave your premises).
It is important to be able to recognize and document whether the warrant is administrative or judicial. Try to limit interactions with the officer to specific competent individuals in the organization (counsel or director) and contact a local immigration attorney or nonprofit to advise on the situation. The designated staff member should inform all who are present that they will directly engage with the officers and issue a reminder that everyone present has the right to remain silent.
A few key points to keep in mind before an emergency occurs:
Don’t wait until you need friends to make them.
Have a contact for an attorney and media rep ready.
Don’t wait until it’s an emergency to make a plan.
Who is the person in charge if ICE arrives at the venue, and what are they going to say?
“You’ll need to speak with the manager” is something you can say, even if you are a manager.
You have the right to (and should) film interactions with law enforcement/ICE. It’s a good idea to have someone on staff ready for this. Don’t obstruct while filming.
Don’t have anything to give them.
Minimize the amount of sensitive information you have.
All social media is monitored. Act accordingly.
Don’t be quiet about how you feel about them.
A little bit of signage goes a long way. Mark private spaces clearly. That’s where the law can’t enter without a warrant.
Best practices for supporting immigrants in your organization:
Train staff
Post notices
Delimit public/private spaces
Be mindful of privacy & records
Create a safe environment
Don’t require ID
Provide resources and information
Best practices for immigrants:
Get a New York City ID (NYC ID).
If you have valid immigration documents, show them. Always carry these with you.
DO NOT carry papers from another country: if you have these, they can be used against you in the deportation process.
You do not have to sign papers that you do not understand. Wait until you talk to a lawyer.
Do not let anyone scare you into signing papers.
By signing something, you are saying that you read and understand the document and agree with what it says.
Emergency safety plan:
Reliable immigration lawyer’s name and number.
Someone to take care of your loved ones (especially children, elderly, and pets).
Arrange for your medical needs.
Organize important documents in a safe place; make copies and make them accessible to a trusted person.
Keep your Alien Registration Number (A-number) and birthdate in a place accessible by loved ones should they need to locate you.
Community safety plan:
Know your rights!
Develop a Buddy System and community self-defense:
Create a network of friends, family, neighbors, etc.
Put together a text tree, phone tree, noisemakers, banners, videographers, photographers, legal observers, etc.

Sunday service had just ended, but Noah Tillman-Young called his small congregation back for another prayer. Shots had been fired at a rural church just down the road — a church a lot like theirs.
As his 30-some parishioners stood in a circle asking God for protection, something changed for the pastor of Joyful Heart. An act of mass violence in his Stockdale, Tex., church was no longer unthinkable. Ten miles away, 26 people were dead at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, the deadliest shooting at a house of worship in the country’s modern history.
That night, Tillman-Young and parish leaders held a vigil for their neighbor church. The next day, they decided to arm their own.
“It’s nothing you ever imagine could happen, but when it hits so close to home, you have no choice — you can’t ignore it and you have to prepare,” Tillman-Young said. “It’s the reality that houses of worship are increasingly becoming targets.”
With a new team of private security officers and an armed corps of volunteers, Joyful Heart joined the wave of small and midsize places of worship adopting security measures to gird against the rising threat of violent attacks.
'This community will heal': A small town mourns an enormous loss Residents of Sutherland Springs, Tex., grappled with the mass shooting that took 26 lives from the community in November 2017. (Alice Li/The Washington Post) While there is no definitive tracking of shootings or other attacks on houses of worship, several researchers and the federal government have documented a significant rise in targeted acts — particularly those with high death tolls.
FBI statistics show a 35 percent increase in hate crimes at churches, synagogues, temples and mosques from 2014 to 2018, the most recent year for which data is available. The nonprofit Faith Based Security Network found a 60 percent increase in “non-accidental deaths” at such sites from 2014 to 2017. And of the 88 people killed in mass shootings at places of worship since 1966 — defined as incidents in which four or more people were killed — more than half the deaths came in the last five years, according to The Washington Post’s mass shootings database.
This spike has prompted several state legislatures to write or revise firearm laws to make it easier for people to carry guns in houses of worship.
Since the Sutherland Springs shooting in November 2017, lawmakers in 14 states have introduced 40 bills, according to a Post analysis using Quorum, a database of state and federal legislation. Several are still being debated and six have been enacted, from Louisiana to North Dakota.
In the first weeks of 2020, legislators, most of them Republicans, have introduced 13 bills allowing armed security in places of worship. The flurry of lawmaking began just days after a gunman killed two people in late December at a church in White Settlement, Tex., before an armed volunteer shot and killed him. The volunteer’s action won praise for a state law that allows parishioners to carry firearms.
Laws under consideration in Florida and Missouri would allow anyone with a concealed-carry permit to bring a firearm into a religious building. In New Jersey, a proposed law would allow houses of worship to select one person to carry a handgun for security. And in Virginia, Republicans have introduced four bills to repeal a law that bars the carrying of weapons in a place of worship “without good and sufficient reason.”
Experts say that churches, synagogues and mosques, with their typically welcoming environments and looser safety measures, can make for easier targets, especially as businesses and schools ramp up security. But more places of worship are turning to surveillance equipment and armed guards, especially volunteers from the congregation, who blend in and save the parish money, said Carl Chinn, president of the Faith Based Security Network.
Chinn and other security consultants said they’re getting more inquiries from nervous congregations. Business is always busier after a shooting, and Chinn said recent incidents were “a wake-up call.”
“Churches are waking up to the fact that the way to stop a bad person with a dangerous weapon is a good person with a weapon and training,” he said.
Gun-control advocates balk at the idea that more weapons will create safer spaces, and others suggest that armed security — especially volunteers — may actually bring more risk.
“Whenever firearms are present, there’s always room for error and the possibility that the guns which are intended to protect become liable to endanger,” said James Densley, a criminal justice professor at Metropolitan State University in Minnesota. “Arming parishioners so they can make the kind of split-second decisions that police get wrong worries me a little bit.”
But Chinn, who has tracked the use of deadly force in churches since 1999, said he hasn’t seen an instance in which innocent people were hit by a volunteer’s gunfire.
“There’s risks anytime you have defenders,” he said. “Of course, the risk is that innocent people might get hurt. But here’s what I tell people: That has not happened. We shouldn’t get wrapped around the axle of ‘what ifs.’ It’s not even comparable to the number of times people were hurt and nobody was there to protect them.”
Security teams can minimize the risks by training often and schooling themselves in more than firearm marksmanship, said Steve Padin, a retired police officer who is a chief consultant for the Watchman’s Academy, a church security firm.
The volunteers that Padin sees, mostly men, often have a background in the military or law enforcement. And when they don’t, Padin said, they need to learn to think like those who do.
A well-trained security guard should be versed in de-escalation and disarming tactics, be able to recognize suspicious behavior and be ready to act quickly, said Padin, who travels the country training security teams at churches and synagogues.
“You should not get to the point where you have to use a firearm,” he said.
At Beth Tikkun Messianic Fellowship in Akron, Ohio, Vic Agosta and his small team of volunteer security guards huddle outside the sanctuary before Saturday service. They all carry guns, and every weekend they pray they won’t need to use them.
Agosta helped form the team eight years ago, when the congregation of 200 was growing quickly. Agosta, who is a lineman for a power company, doesn’t have a background in law enforcement or the military like some of his fellow volunteers. But he does have family in the pews, including a daughter with cerebral palsy who uses a wheelchair.
“Just the thought of someone coming into a service of ours and opening fire on us,” he said. “My daughter couldn’t run for cover.”
In Ohio, places of worship must give permission before attendees can bring in concealed handguns — a restriction that Agosta, a Second Amendment advocate, supports.
“I think you should be able to carry a weapon, but I like the control that private entities have, like churches or places of business, to say who can and cannot carry,” Agosta said.
His church asks congregants to leave their guns at home and trust in the security team.
“We don’t want you to carry,” Agosta said. “But we’ll protect you the best we can.”
At Grace Fellowship, a small born-again Christian church in suburban Omaha, Greg Eckert runs a volunteer team with four other men. He’s recruiting more volunteers from the church’s 97 members, but some have trouble passing his test. It has two questions: Will you give up your life for the congregation, and will you kill for it?
“It sounds like a silly thing to ask for a Christian believer, but God doesn’t lay down for that stuff,” Eckert said. “There were people in the Bible who had to kill at God’s command. If they can’t answer yes to that, I don’t want them.”
He requires his team to practice shooting once a month, and he tests their accuracy four times a year, keeping their bullet-pocked targets on file and dated. In Nebraska, only designated security personnel are permitted to carry concealed handguns in houses of worship — and only if the leadership has given permission and informed the congregation.
“I don’t believe any church should be just an open-carry-type situation,” Eckert said. “But I don’t think it would be prudent to have a law that you could never carry in church, either.”
Outside New York City, which has its own gun laws, New York state has no laws prohibiting firearms in places of worship. And parishioners are better off for it, said Jim Woods, the head of security at the nondenominational Niagara Frontier Bible Church, not far from the famous falls. He’s one of 10 volunteers who greet newcomers at the door, keep an eye on the parking lot and carry a weapon.
“Years ago, it wouldn’t even have crossed my mind [that] you would need to defend yourself in church,” Woods said.
One of the most notorious attacks at a place of worship was the 1963 bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala., where Ku Klux Klan members detonated dynamite, killing four children and injuring 22 people.
Since then, attacks at places of worship have been divided into two categories: hate-fueled assaults and those related to domestic violence. Both types are increasing in frequency and deadliness, said Densley, who also co-founded the Violence Project, which tracks mass shootings.
In 2012, a neo-Nazi killed six people at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin, south of Milwaukee. Three years later, a white supremacist hoping to start a race war killed nine at Charleston’s Emanuel AME Church. And in 2018, anti-Semitic online screeds were connected to the man accussed of bursting into the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh and killing 11.
These were some of the deadliest and most high-profile shootings at American houses of worshipBut more common are shootings that are extensions of intimate-partner violence or domestic disputes, like the massacre in Sutherland Springs. In those cases, Densley said, the shooter is usually a member of the congregation.
“We’re often afraid of the stuff we don’t know and don’t understand that’s outside of us, when really the biggest risk is right in front of us,” he said.
At Joyful Heart Church, the new security measures have also inspired Tillman-Young and his wife and fellow pastor, Allison, to look inward. They’ve spent more time getting to know their members and their families.
“When you’re in the community, you see those red flags, and you see them before they come to a head and get ugly,” he said. “That kind of intentional connection, that relationship, showing people love — it helps to prevent that kind of stuff.”
But more than looser gun laws and armed guards, Tillman-Young said it’s his faith that makes him feel safe.
“We’re packing,” he said, “but we’re also packing the power of God and trusting in God to keep us protected.”

Rise of the Surveillance Scooters?
Albert Fox Cahn
Imagine being falsely accused of a crime, and even though you know you did nothing wrong, you’re forced to wear a tracking device that monitors every time you leave the house: where you go, when, and for how long. Even though you’re completely innocent, suddenly every errand and day trip is recorded, indefinitely, to be scrutinized, analyzed, and maybe even used against you. Go to the doctor? They know. Go to AA? They know. Go anyplace where you prize your anonymity, and the government will still know.
Under Los Angeles’s new Mobility Data Specification, this could become the reality of millions of Angelenos in the coming months. No, I’m not actually talking about accused criminals — these Californians are charged with any no crime — rather, Los Angeles will deploy a massive surveillance dragnet targeting the less than menacing threat posed by…bikes and scooters. That’s right, a city-wide, real-time tracking network, a veritable Orwellian surveillance state, targeting the same sort of scooters popular with middle schoolers.
Bikeshares and e-scooters have proliferated throughout the country, the bicycle or scooter equivalent of rideshares like Uber or Lyft. Users use an app to find the bikes and scooters throughout the city, renting them for short periods, and then dropping them off wherever it is most convenient. Whatever you think of these bikes and scooters, most of us don’t think they’re the sort of national security threat that requires us to tear-up the Fourth Amendment and destroy the right to privacy. Sadly, Los Angeles Disagrees.
In a perplexing technical document posted by the Los Angeles Department of Transportation to the open-source software development site GitHub, the city laid-out it’s vision for an unprecedented tracking system. Buried between technical jargon like “All MDS compatible provider APIs must expose a public GBFS feed…” is a terrifying vision of the future. Under these guidelines, every scooter and bike will need to report the exact GPS coordinates of each device with military precision every 5 seconds. Even worse, the devices will have to report this data in real time.
As of now, we don’t know who will be able to access the data, if it will be shared with law enforcement, or even if it will be shared with ICE. The Los Angeles proposal takes the minimal step of labeling this data as “confidential,” but that raises more questions that in answers. Los Angeles has yet to spell out the rules for how this massive trove of data will be stored and safeguarded. In fact, the city’s Strategic Implementation Plan for Urban Mobility for A Digital Age, the techno-futurist planning document that spells out Lost Angeles’s vision for the future with phrases like “code is the new concrete”, never once mentions data security or privacy.
Some of the most disturbing implications for Los Angeles’s plans are for law enforcement and ICE. At a time when progressive localities are pledging to stop racial profiling and become sanctuary cities, this surveillance campaign endangers both promises. Absent protections against law enforcement access, police will quickly start using this data as a warrantless tracking tool in cases where they lack the evidence to obtain a court order. It will become an end-run against one of the most fundamental safeguards of our criminal justice system. At the same time, Los Angeles will unwittingly create a massive repository to help ICE target undocumented families.
Under a federal law known as 8 U.S.C. § 1373, the U.S. Department of Justice can punish cities and states that block their employees and law enforcement officers from providing information to ICE for immigration enforcement. Many localities have gotten around this law by enacting local statutes that restrict what information officers and employees can acquire on residents. The logic is that if you don’t have the information in the first place, you can’t be forced to share it. By collecting an unprecedented database of where Angelenos live, work, shop, and socialize, the Mobility Data Specification may inadvertently create a treasure trove of data for ICE.
This shouldn’t be a controversial issue; it shouldn’t even be a partisan one. As both Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Sotomayor have written, GPS data reveals a wealth of intimate information about “familial, political, professional, religious, and sexual associations.” Data that intimate, that revealing should only be collected in individual cases, subject to a warrant, not for an entire city. If we don’t stop this practice now, it will only grow. With the proliferation of smart devices and self-driving cars, the possibilities for municipal tracking are endless. If Los Angeles isn’t willing to stop this surveillance entirely, we must, at a minimum, give the city a yellow light and proceed with caution.
Albert Fox Cahn (@cahnlawny) is the Executive Director of the Surveillance Technology Oversight Project, a civil rights and police accountability organization.

23 Things About Me
I was tagged by @la-vie-en-lys like two months ago. My apologies for the very late response, and thank you for the tag!
Name/Nickname: Skye, Rinari / Rin, Ari, Liz
Gender: female-ish, throw in a dash of genderqueerness, probably
Star Sign: Capricorn, I think, though I’m right on the cusp between it and Aquarius
Height: 157-ish cm
Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff, I think, though some quizzes put me in Ravenclaw or Slytherin
Favorite Animal: How dare you ask me to choose? (I don’t think I could choose between cat and snake.)
Hours of Sleep: Uh, usually about 8, 5 or so if I forget my meds.
Dogs or Cats?: Again, how dare. (If pressed I’d probably say cats. I love dogs too but they are in my experience more work.)
Number of Blankets: Right now two, though that will change to one when I pull out my heavier winter duvet.
Dream Trip: Paris, Berlin, British Isles, Switzerland, the US, Pompeii, possibly Egypt or some other place with really really old cool ruins. Basically friends and ancient history.
Dream Job: Working on figuring this out. Will get back to you all on this. Maybe something with literature or languages, maybe something with like clay or wood or metal?
Current Time: 21:53
Birthday: 20. January
Last Show I Watched: Aku No Hana (still am in progress of rewatching)
When Did I Create my Blog? Uhhh... 2013 or 2014 officially, I think, but I didn’t start actually actively using tumblr until late 2015/early 2016.
Song Stuck in my Head: I’ve had this on loop for way too long but it’s apparently what my brain wants right now.
Other Blogs: So... officially I have 9 blogs, including this one (my main). One is just for testing out theme coding. Three I’m co-mod of, only one of which is actually currently active-ish. One I created specifically for my super-moody depressed writing, which I haven’t touched in a while. Another (here) is for my not-depressed stuff, which I haven’t touched in even longer. There is my utterly neglected Sanctuary Network Database Project. And then there is my still comparatively active fandom blog. (Yes, I am quite aware this is Too Many blogs.)
Why I Chose my URL: “Rinari” is kind of my general internet handle by now, but when choosing usernames or anything else I pick Rinari7 because just “Rinari” tends to be taken.
Following: 332 (o.O)
Followers: 78 (not sure how many are bots)
Favorite Instrument: To play or to listen to? I suppose either way I’d have to say the electric keyboard for its sheer versatility.
What you are wearing: loose guys’ white t-shirt with (deliberate!) paint spatters, navy cotton yoga-ish pants, purple felt blanket with a teddy bear and “Drück Mich!” (”Hug Me!”) on it around my shoulders
Top 3 Fictional Universes I’d Like to Join: Elder Scrolls, Star Trek, Naomi Novik’s Uprooted

1. Spotify files a complaint against Apple with the European Commission over ‘Apple tax’ and restrictive rules
Spotify is taking off its gloves in what has up to now been a behind-the-scenes tug-of-war with Apple — it competes against Apple Music but also relies heavily on the company for distribution of its app on iOS devices.
CEO Daniel Ek announced that his company has filed with the European Commission a complaint against the iPhone giant, over how Apple has “introduced rules to the App Store that purposely limit choice and stifle innovation at the expense of the user experience — essentially acting as both a player and referee to deliberately disadvantage other app developers.”
2. Verizon’s 5G to launch first in Chicago and Minneapolis on April 11
Current subscribers can expect to pay an additional $10 a month for access, and at launch, the only supported device is the Motorola Z3 with the 5G Moto Mod.
3. A first look at Twitter’s new prototype app, twttr
“Twttr,” as the prototype build is called, was created to give Twitter a separate space outside its public network to experiment with new ideas about how Twitter should look, feel and operate.

Welcome to the Sanctuary Network Database Project!
Here you will primarily find records of the Sanctuary Network research into abnormals, in the form of incident reports, resident records, mission reports, species records, and various other files outlining the Sanctuary Network’s knowledge of abnormals.
This is intended as a fun project, and possibly a resource and inspiration, primarily for fans of the science fiction TV show Sanctuary, but also for any fans of fantasy, sci-fi, and simply odd creatures.
Additionally, I’ll be showcasing any work based off of this project here as well (tagged with “work inspired by the database”).
I make no claim to the show Sanctuary, or any content relating to the show such as images, characters, or creatures that have appeared on the show (tagged with “sanctuary canon abnormals”). This is a fan project, not for profit. Other creatures (tagged with “original abnormals”) and anything not belonging to the show’s canon belong to their respective creators.
Use of the Database
You are free to use anything belonging to the database (tagged with “database entry”) in your own work, provided: a. your work is non-commercial: either it is your own private work or freely available to the public, and you make no profit from it and b. if it is available to others, e.g. posted online, this database is mentioned or credited in some form for whatever you drew from it.
Basically, don’t take the work presented here and try to make money off it or pass it off as your own. The blog itself, not to mention its content, is no small amount of work. Don’t be that kind of ass, and we’re great. :)
Database Contributors
At the moment, it’s just me, Rinari.
Administration
This blog is run by rinari7, perhaps more commonly known in tumblr fandom here as tryingthisfangirlthing (not that I truly expect to be known).
I do some research, but I’m not a biologist or really a scientist of any sort. (I do computers for a living, or at least that’s the plan.) If anyone more knowledgeable than I notices a mistake or an inaccuracy, feel free to let me know so I can correct it. (Or if you notice anything else, a typo, inconsistency, whatever. Criticism and questions are what refines and improves a project. :) )
If you’re interested in joining this blog project, feel free to nudge me and we can talk. I do have a certain vision for this, but I’m only one person with lots of other things to do, and very much open to collaboration.
Credits
The theme is Rinari’s. If you want to use it, just ask, and I’ll give you the code, though please be forewarned it is definitely tailored to this site. The aesthetic was shamelessly modeled after the actual Sanctuary database as seen in Season 3 Episode 9 of Sanctuary, Vigilante, though at the moment it’s admittedly not a very faithful reproduction. The background image is a wallpaper found at more-sky.com.

This is a terrible database and interface setup. Henry, Dr. Magnus, you and I need to have words...
I mean, the index page doesn’t even list what the creature even is in the truncated view! I just... I can accept this as the view of Sanctuary resident files, sort of, with the containment area being the most significant designation, but not for an entire database. And if it is a list of residents, then a creature that isn’t a resident (N/A) shouldn’t even be in this list.
Also, I have no idea what those threat levels mean, and it gives Sanctuary agents little idea what they’re going up against. I just... *facedesking repeatedly* “Summary” and “Lab Summary”? I think it’s difficult to get much less specific or organized...
Dear Goddess, Magnus, I would have thought that in 100+ years of doing this, you’d be good at this record-keeping thing by now...
#sanctuary#the sanctuary network database project#user interfaces#databases#microscopic organism content warning#weird visuals content warning#my sense of aesthetics and functionality is severely offended#please please please i can design better than this#i will design better than this damn you!#when you're pretty sure you care more about things like this than the actual people who worked on the show...#*sniffle*#q

Data Well-Being: A Pillar of Health Citizenship for US Consumers
In the COVID-19 era, most U.S. consumers believe they have an obligation to share personal health information to stop the spread of the coronavirus. However, only 44% would be willing to share their personal data with a national database, a MITRE study learned.
Only one-third of Americans would be willing to share their temperature, 29% their location, and one-fourth information about their chronic conditions.
The Harris Poll conducted the study among 2,065 U.S. adults 18 and over in mid-June 2020 to gauge peoples’ perspectives on health data and privacy.
Three-quarters of people in the U.S. believe that data privacy “is a thing of the past,” MITRE’s summary coined, with older people (Boomers and Seniors) most likely to feel that way.
The most-trusted parties people trust with their personal health information are doctors’ offices (86%), health insurers (75%), and medical researchers (72%), seen as the top health data stewards in the U.S. Fewer Americans trust social media companies, employers, and genealogy companies (like Ancestry and 23andMe) with their personal health data.
With yesterday’s news that Amazon is launching the Halo health tracker, and the sale in early August of Ancestry to Blackstone for $4.7 billion, the MITRE study is well-timed.
Given these findings, it is natural that consumers want control over those with whom their personal data is shared. If data are to be shared, U.S. adults look for some level of value-exchange: two in three consumers would exchange their data for safety, and 48% for convenience.
MITRE also found gaps in personal health information trust based on ethnicity, identifying a 10 to 20% gap between White, Black, and Hispanic Americans.
Last year, MITRE developed An Ethical Framework for the Use of Consumer-Generated Data in Health Care, to guide organizations holding peoples’ personal health information on how to be good data stewards and citizens. The table organizes the values and principles that underpin MITRE’s Framework, which emphasize peoples’ data rights, control, and self-determination.
Health Populi’s Hot Points: “We all benefit from the robust sharing of our data, because insights that may benefit all of us can be garnered,” I quoted a Stanford faculty study in my book, HealthConsuming: From Health Consumer to Health Citizen.
But the Stanford researchers also warned that, as we all know too well, there are also nefarious forces at play who aren’t thinking about how to use data for insights into human health, but how to use it for manipulation.
This insight from the Stanford folks is in the last chapter of my book, titled “Becoming Health Citizens.”
Concerns about consumer-generated data and third-party data brokers’ and others’ potential to exploit the information outside of pure health care uses is not a new-new thing. I wrote about this challenge in 2014 in my report for California Health Care Foundation, Here’s Looking at You: How Personal Information Is Being Tracked and Used. Years ago, the Harvard Privacy Project led by Latanya Sweeney at the time had addressed privacy as, “the sword and the shield of public health.”
The spider-web drawing from Sweeney’s privacy lab drew the many data flows that fall outside of the HIPAA law, a graphic drawn years before smartphones sensed GPS and wearable technologies became mainstream.
The concept of data well-being is emerging in the pandemic, as Americans’ trust with institutions — especially government and technology — has eroded when it comes to consumers wishing to keep their data secure and private. The bar chart illustrates this point, capturing how U.S. consumers felt in April 2020 about sharing personal data with tech companies and federal agencies. This Morning Consult poll revealed large gaps of trust, which did not bode well for America’s ability to implement a rigorous contact tracing program across the nation.
This month, JWT Intelligence discussed data well-being in a recent paper, noting that, “the impact of privacy issues isn’t clearly defined but is, instead, learned through pain and fear,” quoted form Joe Toscano who is founder of The Better Ethics and Consumer Outcomes Network (aka BEACON).
“Privacy is one of those issues that’s constantly humming in the back of people’s minds,” Joe told JWT. People seek more “digital sanctuaries” and protections that enable data security and peace of mind.
With that in mind, it’s time to re-visit the latest Gartner’s 2020 Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies. The hype cycle curve is shown here, and the top five trends have implications for health care and digital citizenship. Among them, consider two:
Digital me, including digital passports, social distancing, and digital twins that represent people in physical and digital space; and,
Algorithmic trust.
Gartner explained that growing exposure to “fake news” and biased AI has moved to “algorithmic trust models” that promise to ensure data privacy and security, and effective tracking data assets (provenance). The objective here is to gain and hold the trust of consumers and partners.
Earning and keeping that trust will be paramount if the world, which includes the U.S., is to conquer the coronavirus and future pandemics. New research in The Lancet, published in a digital health issue for September 2020, looks into public perceptions on data sharing in the UK and USA. Their implications are unclear, the researchers conclude, reluctantly: “while the urgency of data science and AI is becoming increasingly evident as the COVID-19 outbreak grows globally, the crisis also imposes new risks to public privacy and data security.”
Health citizenship for Americans sits on several pillars, and data well-being is one of them.

Scroll down your Facebook feed, and you’ll most likely see friends experimenting with some new hobby or project you might’ve never expected. They’re baking artisan breads, building tool sheds, playing with watercolors. Who knew your network was full of eccentric characters? It turns out being stuck at home brought out the creatives in many of us. On one hand, we’re figuring out how to be more self-sufficient out of necessity. On the other hand, we’ve become more curious about topics outside of our typical realm. Is it any wonder we’re experiencing an online learning boom?Even before the pandemic, industry analysts had predicted the e-learning market to exceed $300 billion by 2025, pointing to course diversification as a competitive advantage. Now the market is even more hungry for online courses that are off the beaten path. “Harvard University free courses” ranked as one of the most popular Google searches lately, but a recent deep dive into Google Trends also shows search increases in topics you might’ve never guessed: “fashion styling online course” was up 2,250%, “online art history course” was up 400% increase, and “online acrylic nail course” was up 120%.If you’re thinking your expertise isn’t “mainstream” enough to earn profits, think again.Of course, market demand is critical. But the more “under the radar” your course idea is, the easier it will be for you to stand out. Think about it: people are out there searching for the very topic you were born to teach. We’ve scoured the internet, keyword search tools, and our very own Kajabi user database to handpick 10 unconventional niches in high demand right now. Hear it straight from Kajabi Heroes who have made it work for them:1.HomesteadingFor city folks craving a slower paced, secluded lifestyle, the idea of living off the land might seem idyllic. They might picture Little House on the Prairie, the shabby chic farmhouse kitchens on Instagram, or the YouTube videos on growing vegetables at home. They have a lot to learn to make the pioneer lifestyle a reality. If you’re knowledgeable about subsistence farming, living off the grid, or living self-sufficiently, people are searching for your course.“There is a myth that only certain subjects and categories of content lend themselves to being taught online. Permaculture, an environmental science that is very much hands-on, tactile, and visceral, would seem to be a poor fit for virtual instruction,” said Mohamed Marei, cofounder of Accolade Consulting Group, a strategy firm that worked with renowned permaculturist Geoff Lawton to create “Discover Permaculture” on Kajabi. “But our experience suggests that—with rigorous instructional design, a fanatical commitment to the learning experience of our community of students, a bit of ingenuity, the right mix of technical solutions, and above all, a fantastic team—almost any topic can be taught online."Marei confirmed that each of the permaculture course launches have hit the seven-figure mark.Monthly global Google search volumeshomestead: 90,000sustainable living: 27,100off the grid: 27,100Online dating and relationshipsWith the widespread isolation, more people are craving human connection—romance in particular. Match Group, the online dating giant that owns Tinder, Match.com, Hinge, and others, reported significant upticks in activity since the pandemic. At Tinder, the number of conversations, as well as the length of conversations, have spiked up to 30%, particularly among users under 30 years old. What if they could use some help setting up their profile? What if they had no idea what to say once the conversation starts? Could you be the savior to awkward online daters?Kate Mansfield, a dating and relationship coach in the UK, says she’s learned that selling a high-ticket course is “much easier” than a cheap one. The Kajabi Hero earns on average £40k per month.“The common misconception is that spiritual and personal coaching offers are harder to sell because there isn’t a clear financial gain to the outcome,” which Kate added, “is absolutely not true.” “If you can get people past their fear and coping strategies,” she said, “you can charge whatever you like, because ultimately true love is a priceless outcome.”Monthly global Google search volume for:online dating: 60,500dating coach: 3,600 relationship coach: 1,900Personality coachingIn times of chaos, people are naturally inclined to turn inward. More people are taking the time to assess their relationships, careers, and lifestyles. What’s life going to be like after the hard times are over? Personality tests like the DISC assessment, Myers–Briggs, and the Enneagram are helping people who seek clarity. If you’re a psychologist, life coach, or career counselor with expertise on personality-based assessments, your online course could help thousands of people going through major life transitions. Maybe they need a push in the right direction. And maybe your course is exactly what they need. Monthly global Google search volume for personality test: 301,000Enneagram: 201,000personality type: 135,00Home improvement projectsThe home improvement industry is booming right now. Suddenly, property owners are motivated to paint the walls, install new floors, and anything else to freshen up outdated looks. Those long lines you might’ve seen outside of Home Depot or Lowes are becoming more common. In a recent two-week period tracking social media posts about home renovation ideas, an Ameritrade article documented a significant spike doubling normal levels.Starr Tingle, owner of Sanctuary Homes and Remodeling, says the demand for home remodeling services has definitely blown up lately. “All these people are stuck in their home and they’re looking at it, thinking, ‘Why have I been putting up with this crappy 1980s bathroom?’ Or, ‘My kitchen’s not functional. It’s dark. It’s out of style,’” she said.Starr is building an online course on Kajabi, focused on how to be your own general contractor managing a remodel. “If they knew how to run the project themselves,” she explained, “they could literally save thousands.”If you’re a master at managing remodels or skilled at any type of DIY home project, people are looking to learn from you.Monthly global Google search volume for bathroom remodel: 135,000kitchen remodel: 90,000carpentry: 110,000woodworking: 29,900Dog trainingIf you’ve ever considered starting an online dog training course, the numbers are strongly in your favor:68% of US households have at least one petUS pets include 90 million dogsExpect to see those numbers continue to climb. A big portion of non-pet owners either want or plan to have a pet in the future, according to the American Pet Products Association. Connie Cleveland, dog training expert and founder of The Obedience Road, has observed a big spike in new email subscribers lately. She’s been making a push to publish free content on Kajabi. “Just because there are no competitions to go to, no classes to go to, we can band together,” she said. “We can watch videos, we can do lots of stuff at home to make sure that they're still having fun training their dog.” Connie hopes that her free content will eventually steer people into joining her paid membership site, but she adds, “Right now, it's about how I can serve them in this current climate.”Monthly global Google search volume for:dog training: 110,000pet care: 14,800Specialty photography As the pace of life has slowed down, people are giving a closer look to their surroundings and documenting through photography. They’re capturing new sights like mountains once shrouded by smog, coyotes wandering city streets, clear highways. Even banana bread fresh out of the oven has become photo-worthy. People are discovering beauty around them and they’re eager to share. That widespread interest poses a huge opportunity for photography teachers who specialize in landscapes, food, wildlife, and more.Michael Greenberg, a photographer who partners with other photographers to create online courses on Kajabi, believes in the power of teaching highly specialized courses such as landscape photography. One of his courses teaches night sky photography with an iPhone.“‘How to take pictures with an iPhone’ is hard to sell. There’s too much competition in that field because it’s too broad,” Michael said. “No matter how many free tutorials online you can find, if you sell a high-quality product, there will always be someone who wants to purchase it.”So far, landscape photography has proven to be a winning niche for Michael. One course had generated $105,00 from January to late April. His second course had earned $59,000 plus additional monthly subscriptions—in one month alone.“Every single person photographs sunsets and sunrises,” Michael said. “Nature appeals to a much broader audience—women, men, young old.”Monthly global Google search volume for:food photography: 14,800landscape photography: 27,100wildlife photography: 74,000boudoir photography: 74,000Homeschooling (any subject)Long before stay-at-home orders, homeschooling in the US had been growing steadily since the 1990s, up to 3% of K-12 students nationwide. Now, parents have been thrust into this new world and struggling to adapt: “How do I get my high-energy kid to focus?” “How can I keep all of my kids occupied while I work?”If you’ve been in the trenches as a school teacher or educator of any kind, the time to start your online course for K-12 kids is now. Whether you teach science or woodworking, as long as you can make learning fun and interactive online, there’s a good chance a parent is looking for your expertise.Jamie Heston, a homeschool consultant and board member of The Homeschool Association of California, advises online course creators to actively market their courses directly to parents by searching for homeschool communities on Facebook Groups and Google Groups. “There’s a lot of interest, but also a lot of options right now,” Jamie said. “If your course is good, it will catch fire. It only takes a few homeschoolers enjoying your class to talk about it in these online communities.”Jamie recommends that course creators categorize their courses not necessarily by age, but by ability. Learning with a multigenerational group can lead to a meaningful experience for everyone.Melissa Norris teaches people how to raise, preserve, and cook their own organic food through her Kajabi site.“People from all walks of life, age, and location—kids at home to grandparents—are eager to learn how to grow and preserve their own food,” she said. “ Many felt isolated in their desire to do so and creating a virtual space truly makes us connected.”Monthly global Google search volume for homeschooling: 74,000Adventure sports With the travel industry on hold and in-person training not an option, the adrenaline sports junkies are itching to spend time outdoors. They’re ready to learn techniques from the pros and spend hours practicing. Mountain bikers will always remember their first wheelie, and surfers will remember the first time they got barreled. How amazing would it feel knowing you taught those techniques to someone, maybe even the younger version of you?Monthly global Google search volume for:mountain biking: 450,000skateboarding: 33,100surfing: 90,500Feng ShuiIn turbulent times, people seek new ways to achieve balance however they can. The philosophy of feng shui, which influences interior design and architecture in parts of Asia, is about creating balance, encouraging happiness, and clearing stagnant energy. As people are spending countless hours at home these days, they’re seeking new ways to transform their surroundings into a sanctuary.Amanda Collins, founder of the International School of Feng Shui, teaches the ancient art of Feng Shui and offers a master certification to become a Feng Shui consultant. From her home in Ireland, which sits at the base of a mountain surrounded by rivers and forests, Amanda coaches students from all over the world using Kajabi. Her students are based in Egypt, Dubai, the US, and throughout Europe.“Obviously, there’s something really special about teaching people in person,” said Amanda, who typically hosts in-person events twice a year. But her online courses allow her to be more accessible to students. People tell her they simply can’t get away, whether because they have young children or they can’t afford to travel, she explained.“I feel like when I create something online, it can affect people infinitely because people can keep watching it, keep spreading it, and learning it,” she said. “I think that’s such a gift.”Amanda has grown revenues from her online business by 25-30% every year.Monthly global Google search volume for Feng Shui: 135,000Sewing, knittingTraditional arts and crafts are making a big comeback among young adults who are most likely drawn to the tactile nature of sewing and knitting—an experience that smartphones and laptops can’t offer. Creative hobbyists have discovered the freedom that comes with stepping away from the noise, working with their hands, and getting into a flow. As more digital natives continue to take over the crafting market, online crafting courses will become even more popular. According to the Association for Creative Industries, the majority of crafters (41%) are 18-34 years old and the next largest group (36%) are 35-54 years old.Sarah Vedeler, chief designer at Meaning of Life Designs, teaches how to design quilts and embroidery appliqué on Kajabi. “In the beginning, getting in front of the camera was terrifying! I would procrastinate for days,” she said. Sarah discovered a simple trick that helped her overcome procrastination: having her lighting boom arms permanently mounted on her wall, and having a camera set up on a tripod in the same exact place. Each time, filming her course gets easier. And over the long run, her online business has grown more profitable.“My first complete year using Kajabi had revenues almost double that of the previous year,” Sarah said.Monthly global Google search volume for:sewing: 201,000embroidery: 165,000knitting: 74,000These 10 unconventional niches, along with real success stories, are a small sampling that prove you can succeed in almost any area. The internet connects us from across the globe. If you’re passionate and knowledgeable in a certain area, you’ll most likely find others want to learn from you.No matter what you’re teaching, here’s one last tip from Shanna B. Tiayon, cofounder of Black Suburban Homestead: “Design your course to meet people where they are. It’s about education for self-empowerment!”
