I'm probably speaking out of turn because I HOLD CERO KNOWLEDGE ABOUT QUANTUM PHYSICS. But i'm a dedicated fan so i legit read a bit enough to understand and trust me- IT'S SO NOT THE SAME AS HOLLYWOOD MAKES IT SEEM? LIKE IT'S APPARENTLY NOT EVEN A POPULAR THEORY IN THE SCIENCE WORLD?

But we're not here for the real life logistics of the many world variarions theory, are we?😈

So, here's the gist of it and the way it's tied to the spiderverse. And how the established theory itself proves that Miguel's canon theory it's flawed (to say the least).

YES, exactly how Miguel shows the Arachnoid Humanoid Poly-Multiverse. (Such a tacky name oml he's so silly and i love him). So yeah, there's not really a main universe, just a series of copies of similar realities that explore every possible outcome for literally ANYTHING.

The sole existence of a world where life was able to grow and evolve into humanity is already considered just a different outcome that "casually happened".

So, there's no baseline, there's no rules that must be followed, the universe doesn't need something to be played exactly the same way as another reality BECAUSE THAT WOULD DEFY THE CONCEPT THAT THE THEORY TRIES TO EXPLAIN. You don't need every universe to follow a story or be similar because well, the universe doesn't look for consistency, but to explore and expand every possibility as a confirmed reality.

The world as we know it it's not going to freaking collapse because you don't look or act as your multiversal counterpart. In fact, THAT'S JUST WHAT'S EXPECTED TO HAPPEN.

Thanks to the sciency people, we also raise a concept that literally yells that Miguel's theory doesn't quite make sense:

So yeah, this (although it's quite rejected in the physics departament because it's trying to bring guidelines to an already frowned upon theory- But it is the most popular interpretation so it's all we got) gives us a series of concepts and statistical interpretation of the wave function, and nondeterminism to account for the violation of the basic principles that classical physics rests on.

In other words, measuring a quantum object does not force it into one state or another. Rather, the measurement causes an actual split in the universe. In fact, the various measurements could cause a split into multiple universes— one universe for each possible outcome of the measurement.

The ship is the force that comes from outside the chosen universe, and the wave is well - the universe.

Miguel might have stayed without risk on Gabi's universe, but he basically just shielded himself against a bomb that flew back to where it was launched from.

The universe's death does not happen because you "break through the world's similarities", it breaks because you mess with the order that 'that' universe has made for itself.

Idk why but I sort of just assumed New 52 Teen Titans and all the stuff involving Tim and Cassie, etc, back then had been like. Erased from continuity, never happened, all memories of it gone. Maybe that’s the only way I can reconcile how bonkers (derogatory) everything was and how inconsequential and irrelevant it is now to current continuity (also like. How else am I supposed to make sense of stuff like how apparently Tim’s parents were still alive? But now they aren’t or at least I assume they’re not, bc they haven’t been mentioned or anything in that capacity since?? Like. Does Tim remember his New 52 personality and backstory change outside of like his memories of Young Justice being messed with? When did his personality and backstory actually revert back to Pre-Née 52? I have no idea! They haven’t gone into depth or even mentioned it in a throwaway line afaik!! I need to make it make sense istg)

See, in general I feel you because this whole thing was handled messily, but I have a few things to try to say in response that aren't necessarily in order you brought them up, but, yeah. Also all of this is kinda moot now that after Death Metal everyone does remember everything to some degree, and they even acknowledged the New 52 team during that big splash page of all the Titans teams, so like it's definitely considered stuff that happened to some degree

Even though a lot of stuff from New 52 Titans doesn't get brought up after, some parts of it do! The most plot-relevant example I can think of is during the Super Sons of Tomorrow story, because basically the whole reason Raven & Gar decide to work with Titans Tomorrow/Savior Tim is because of their connections with modern day Tim from when he led the Teen Titans (in the New 52)

Which like, this was a story in 2018, already a few years into Rebirth. The moment Rebirth happened it's not like every New 52 Teen Titans thing just disappeared, I mean hell the last issue of Teen Titans Vol. 5 actually came out after Tim had 'died' in Rebirth Detective Comics

So it's just this weird thing with a lot of contradictions, right off the bat. In terms of personality basically as soon as Rebirth started they were trying to shift Tim closer back to his previous self, but the first time we actually learn about his history being restored to his old one is during Lonely Place of Living:

Which takes place after he'd been 'killed' and plucked out of time by Mr. Oz. When he'd been taken in the first place, this line always sticks out to me:

Which when trying to make things... make sense in the mess that continuity is, has always felt like at least partially an admission that restoring Tim to who he was required changing so many things because of all the strings attached to the New 52 version of him, it wasn't as simple as just altering his personality. Things like those parents, and any other parts of his history that involve other people, were complicated for the universe to try to 'restore' to their previous state because of how they were altered, so taking Tim (and I imagine those things by extension) 'off the field' was the simpler solution.

While he's 'off the field' with Mr. Oz It's just kinda... the way I rationalize it is that the universe reworked itself as it needed and it just required that extra time with him out of the way to readjust properly, so that when he comes back things have been altered to his original reasons for becoming Robin & everything there, but while his origin was restored other elements of his history since the New 52 had happened stayed more or less the same (bc like other stuff from before the New 52 like Young Justice didn't get restored until later)

In general it's all still very confusing and trying to apply too much logic to it is hard, and ultimately I think they were just trying to retcon what they wanted to and not worry about details from before that they didn't want to... but I kinda imagine it like events from New 52 Teen Titans are still foggily remembered by him, but in probably a weird dissociative way bc there are these differences between Tim now and the Tim that lived through those events. Other people who didn't have quite as big of changes that effected their time as Titans (like Raven and Gar as shown above) might remember things more clearly.

A little off topic but with what you asked about if Tim remembers his memories changing, I feel like he probably wouldn't because there's been no indication of that, but some characters have been shown to be like... aware that things get altered. For example: Miguel, who had been put in some kind of stasis and has clear memories of The New 52 Teen Titans, but also is lowkey aware that things have been altered and rebooted.

In general: it's confusing! A lot of it I think they just want to shove under the rug until they decide 'oh actually we want to use this little detail again' and that us as fans are probably putting way more thought into it than the people at DC themselves are. Hey, what are in your opinion the best fiction and nonfiction books about the Borgia family? And why?

Hey anon!

It took me awhile to answer this because is always a tricky question for me lol. I think I’m rather picky when it comes to them, but also I’m constantly changing my mind. Anyways here it goes:

Best:

The Poisoner Mysteries, Sara Poole:  So, I must say that the main character, Francesca, can be very annoying and completely unrealistic as a woman in the 14th. But these trilogy has been my favorite so far because the Borgia family is written amazingnly well. I was suprised actually! The writer achieved such a wonderful characterizion of Cesare, a rare balance of giving him his humanity, but also acknowledging his flaws. I adore her Cesare. Her Lucrezia is fine here, didn’t bothered me, she has great dialogues. And her Rodrigo is pretty much how I see him irl. Also there’s a lot of mysteries, which I love. I just had a lot of fun reading it, it was delightful.

Fuyumi Soryo, Cesare: Il Creatore che ha distrutto: I think is brilliant how Soryo showed that serious, historical fiction about the Borgia family can be done without resorting to old clichés and sensationalistic gossip, and still make it fun and entertaining. I’m grateful for the respect and dedication her and her team have showed towards Cesare. And I just love everything about her manga. The main character, Angelo, is great. The relationship he develops with both Cesare and Miguel is so so good! The Medici family is also great here. Lucrezia is adorable! Rodrigo is again, exactly how I see him. And last but not least, the drawings! especially the coloured ones are stunning. So much detail, it’s a work of art, really.

Mario Puzo, The Family: It’s like a classic Borgia fiction, some people hate it, but I absolutely love it! If you must take advantage of all the rumors and misdeeds that surrounds the Borgia family, then I expect you should do it as masterfully as Puzo did it.

Sara Bower, Sins of the House of Borgia:  I love it because 1) The main character is super relatable to me sorry not sorry lool, 2) Bower wrote Lucrezia so so well. A complex, well rounded character, that’s neither a victim nor a poisoner. Which it’s how I see her irl. Her writing is beautiful too. Those Cesare and Lucrezia’s letters had me dying!!!!! That being said, I must say that nowdays her Cesare feels ooc sometimes, and her Vannozza still feels rather harsh and unfair imo. But overall it remains a favorite of mine.

Françoise Sagan, Le Sang Doré Des Borgia: I actually haven’t read the book, but the book is basically the transcription of the tv series, which I watched and it’s my favorite Borgia adaptation! I don’t know how Sagan did it, but her Lucrezia is amazing and accurate and ughh what a queen!

Worst:

Jean Plaidy, Madonna of the Seven Hills/ Light on Lucrezia: OH MY GOD, these books are so cringely bad I think the only reason I was able to finish is because it was my first borgia fiction and even then, I suffered getting through with it. Everyone is ooc af. There is one or two good dialogues between Lucrezia and Cesare, but overall what a disaster! I still don’t understand wth the writer was thinking while she was writing that, nor how you can get the WHOLE family all wrong at the same time??? But yeah, I guess that happens sometimes idk lmaoo.

Sarah Dunant, Blood and Beauty: Listen, if you go to Goodreads, you’ll see how praised this book is. And I do admit Dunant is a good writer. However, she is on this side of my list for a very simple reason: she made me hate Lucrezia. Goddd, she tries way too hard to present Lucrezia as the good girl™, beacon of innocence and goodness, and what comes out of it is this incredibly annoying, dull and stupid character that made me roll my eyes each time I had to read her dialogues like: Oh no, more bullshit! can we just go back to Cesare and Rodrigo? their servants? Juan? Joffre? literally anyone would be more interesting to read than her Lucrezia istg. Also if you are a cesare x lucrezia shipper, just know that in order for Dunant to keep Lucrezia on this ridiculous and unrealistic pedestal, their relationship had to be sabotaged. So don’t be fooled by the hardcover copy, nor the lovely dialogues at the beginning, it gets bittesweet pretty fast. And as if all this wasn’t enough, I still had to read with my own two eyes Dunant claiming her book is as close to real life as possible. Just no. Unacceptable. I realized this ended up becoming a mini-rant, sorry anon! I just really loathe this book. It broke my confidence on Goodreads’s review system, that’s for sure.

Elena/Michela Martignoni, Cuore di Tiranno/Verdugo de Tiranos: Too sensationalistic and badly written. And it does have unnecessary violence against women. It would be one thing if they could back that up with hard evidence, which they can’t. All we have is a bunch of theories, so how their minds went where it did there is kinda disturbing imo. It’s not type of reading.

Dumas, The Borgias: Not so much for how he uses and abuses of all the Borgia alleged “sins”, but because his writing is very confusing. It’s too dry to be fiction, but it doesn’t work as non-fiction either because there are some dialogues sometimes. It’s weird and I couldn’t finish it.

So, I kinda answered this one here. I would only add that Woodward’s bio on Cesare is not too bad. I mean there were times I wanted to quit reading it, but his last chapters are ok and he offers a good amount of sources and evidence, which I always appreciate.

Well, hello. Wow, I haven’t made an update like for the longest time. A year has passed, and frankly, there isn’t anything to write at all since my last post. It’s been the same day everyday. Who would have thought that being at home can drive you insane? Lol

Batch Flight, March 2021, Makati

I’ll start how 2021 is crowned as my worst year ever. For the most painful part, I lost my job at Philippine Airlines.. I got retrenched to be exact. The pandemic has made it really, really hard to keep everyone on board. Eventually they had to make cuts and I wasn’t senior enough to save my ass. Imagine being in the company for 5 years and this is what you get.

It was, and is still heartbreaking. Looking back, God knows how badly I wanted to be there, how I hauled my ass off everyday passing resumes, just to get that call. For it to be taken away just like that feels so surreal. My world is still crashing down. I’m back exactly where I started. I keep on thinking if this is God, listening to my midlife crisis woes and giving a solution to it. Or me being punished for being so distant and forgetting my promise (Friday is Quiapo Day)

I have to move on, I have to keep going forward. I can’t stay and self-pity all day. Though I still am. With the money I got from PAL, I decided to get a laptop so I can easily look for jobs, build up my resume, learn something new or just… make something happen.

I did take up online courses though, I picked up on Social Media Marketing only to find out in the end how demanding it is and how difficult it is to find clients. My creativity too, was challenged at that point and it took me like 3-4hrs to do what my brother can do in 30 mins. Wtf

Still though, I applied through various jobs only to be rejected. By ALL of them. I might have been rusty with the interview part though, that’s why I didn’t get in. But hey, it’s a learning curve…right? I guess.

Everyday, I’ve been hoping and praying for some good news but nothing has really come to help my situation. 4 mos into my unemployment and I haven’t gone very far and my money is literally running out already.
