"the rivals are canonically bisexual" is probably the shittiest take i have ever heard like. you do realize that is not true. they like taeko in some universes, taro in others. in the ones with taeko, they could be lesbians or mspec, and in the ones with taro, straight or mspec, hell they could be aroace (in my hcs osana, mida, osoro, hanako & megami are aroace anyways) and yes they CAN be bisexual but they are not canonically.

i just think it's bullshit logic. whenever somebody gets mad at my hcs and goes 'oh but they are canonically this or that' just remember nothing yandev says is interesting or accurate. all of the lore regarding background characters is boring, none of the sexualities (except for the study guys, which i do see as a couple) are canon, not even their ages are accurate as depicted by yandev, those are some fucking high schoolers.

i hate being queer in a widely non-queer fandom because it results in the shittiest takes, everyone forgetting aro/ace people, and the most plain gay ships ever. (i can't even mention the straight ones, those are a thousand times worse.)

the something being that i don't sense any malicious hateful intent coming from either gojo or sukuna. this is a rare enemies/rivals trope imo. like their whole theme is about teaching love and trying to maybe come to a mutual understanding despite fate cruelly putting them on the opposite sides, as they are really just different sides of the same coin. and that's one of the many reasons why i love this pairing. it's not easy to find a non-toxic enemies/rivals dynamic portrayal in media so i'm glad that jjk is an exception.

YES YES ANON, they really don't hate each other at all. one thing i was thinking about is how gojo doesn't seem to think of sukuna as this malicious Evil thing that other sorcerers (rightfully) make him out to be. he... really hasn't been shown to harbor any ill feelings towards sukuna, even after all he's done.

and their fight is playful, they're playing, they're having fun, it's recreation. sure the fate of the world is at stake here, but that's not what it's about for them at all.

there's not hate, not even dislike, it's simply. well to steal canon's words. love. an overwhelming sense of pleasure, of satisfaction, of fulfillment.

and i LOVE that u mention "despite fate cruelly putting them on the opposite sides" bc YEAH YEAH, that's part of the tragedy of them. there's too many factors outside their own personal satisfaction at play.

and i think there is also a bit of a paradox in there. they're looking for someone with whom to share that solitude that comes at the lonely top. but... that's something i don't think to be possible. sure they're equals, that's the thing, but at the same time, their existences clash just by definition. bc there can't be two strongest. there can only be one.

both can't live at the same time. if one lives, the other can't live by definition.

no one understands them bc they're the strongest, but once they find someone who might be able to—and who does—dont they stop being the strongest?

okay so we already see in the trailer that theyre taking stuff from sa2 and shth.. i feel like shth is going to be the main event here because the trailer and description is implying black doom is the main antagonist. plus its the only shadow focused game that didnt have any representation in the original sonic generations iirc. but those arent the only games shadow has had a major role in . are they gonna take stuff from other games too? like 06 maybe?

I totally get what you mean by “not having been in love all throughout school”-thing , to me this applies more to Harry and I do think Draco realized there is more to Harry then what he thought in th earlier books by the end of the war; Because Draco expierences such a profound worldview shift in HP6/7 and Harry as significant moment around that: the moment they share when Draco doesnt identify Harry, Harry literally coming back to save him from a certain painful death by putting himself in danger in RoR,seeing Harry defeating the villain who is the biggest plight in Dracos life with Draco’s wand in his hand no less, followed potentially by Harry speaking at his trails or at least putting it on record that he saw Draco unable to kill Dumbledore/not identifying him/Naricassa saving him etc. Draco is a gay teen and the object of his attention had a literal knight in shining armour moment, I think that boy was fighting some “DM + HP <3” urges there in the end HAHAH

hi!! yeah i totally understand this and do enjoy it when i encounter it, like i can totally be sold on this interpretation more than like "i've loved you since i was 11" which is just like. what.

but i also really like the twisty, resentful place where all this stuff happens and they're def feeling different about each other but it's not necessarily in a positive way (and not necessarily negative, either, just something more neutral) until years post-war when they're more grownup.

HBP does this fun narrative shift for them where draco has more important, higher stakes things to worry about than harry potter, and harry becomes obsessed with him because draco is such a manageable enemy and good focus for his resentment and fear and rage. he can defeat draco, he knows it, and he's right there to be fixated on, as opposed to the very scary war going on outside.

i think they both kind of realize at the end of HBP (harry) and DH (draco) the same thing: my childhood enemy is not the real villain; school is small and real-world stakes are much higher. i can def see draco turning that into "oh he saved me, i might be developing feelings for him" but i can just as much see him being like "oh goddamnit, he's not as bad as i always thought he was and i owe him my life, this sucks so much and i can't even hate him anymore!!" i love working from that post-canon.
