One of the things that really gets me about the Righteous Gemstones is it's pretty much the only show on TV where it would have made perfect sense for the obviously closseted character who clearly has something going on with his best friend to never have that relationship explicitly defined. It would have made sense to have these two characters who everyone knows something is going on between never actually say that there is, their entire relationship is being viewed not only by a very public but a very Christian eye, so them never saying what they are and keeping it ambiguous would have would have worked in canon but everyone involved in making it said fuck that and decided to have them kiss anyway. Fucking iconic.

Kelvin and Keefe's chairs are so special to me. Keefe's is the roots, upholding and strong, a sturdy foundation. Kelvin's is the branches, reaching up and out towards the light. each perfectly fitting for how they see the other person. both fully necessary for the overall growth and livelihood of the tree.

Rewatching the Righteous Gemstones and the fact that in season 1 for seemingly no reason they make a point of saying how un homophobic Jesse is not once but 3 times. The first time is in episode one with Pontius and then twice later when he thinks Gideon is bi.

Cus yeah from outward appearances before you know the Gemstones it wouldn't be that big of a leap to assume Jesse was at least a tiny bit homophobic but they really wanted to hammer home early on that he wasn't and it's so unprompted and objectively kind of funny.

Then cut to the end of season 3 and Jesse has such a proud big brother look on his face when Kelvin kissed Keefe. 

I have way too many feelings about this show.
