Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation - a weird, dumb, endlessly entertaining movie with an unexpectedly banger 90s soundtrack.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986)
"You have one choice, boy: sex or the saw. Sex is... well, nobody knows. But the saw, the saw is family."
#the texas chainsaw massacre 2#horror imagery#tobe hooper#american cinema#1986#l.m. kit carson#caroline williams#dennis hopper#jim siedow#bill moseley#bill johnson#ken evert#lou perryman#kirk sisco#barry kinyon#chris douridas#james n. harrell#harlan jordan#horror film#jerry lambert#a hell of a swing by Hooper: to return to the property that had made his name as a filmmaker for a belated sequel more than a decade later#but to deliver a film so tonally distinct from its predecessor‚ so far in mood and style‚ that it acts almost as pastiche of the genre#he absolutely nailed it though. truly one of The great horror sequels‚ the blackly funny‚ gloopy yin to the original's nerve shredding#sinewy yang. Siedow was the only returning cast member‚ with his role developed and character expanded‚ and he's truly brilliant#as the weirdly endearing cannibal cook among this dysfunctional serial killing family; Moseley's whole performance is a delight too‚#a high energy‚ constantly chattering bit of dangerous clownery that's the perfect balance to the (newly childlike and sensitive) Leatherface#Williams is great‚ one of the all time final girls‚ while getting Hopper (right at the beginning of his career revival after several years#in the critical wilderness) was a huge boon: he gives everything to this bizarre‚ ridiculous role. where the og film was actually#surprisingly discreet in its onscreen violence‚ relying more on the building of unbearable tension and uncomfortable editing#this film is a gory mess from the very outset‚ and it does feel at times like Hooper is challenging the viewer after the response to TCM

Hot Take: Older horror movies are more visually terrifying then newer horror movies. There isn't a movie released in the last 10 years that has imagery that lingers and keeps me up at night. But og Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Og Night of the Living Dead? Og Evil Dead or Return of the Living Dead? Sceans from those movies keep me up at night. Yes newer horror is scary I won't deny that, the new Evil Dead scared the shit out of me, but it didn't linger in my psyche like the older stuff does.

HI im gonna ask questions bc im bored too
• when did you first start watch wrestling?
• who was your first fav wrestler?
• who are some of ur fav accounts on here?
• what’s your fav movie/show
HOPE UR DAY IS GOING WELL :-)
HIIII MY FAVOURITE PROBLEMATIC MOOT /j
•So if you want to get technical I started watching wrestling/my earliest memory of watching wrestling was sometime around 2014, I used to watch some of the highlights with my dad whenever they were on tv but I then didn’t watch for TEN YEARS because I was too upset about the shield breaking up [im being so fr, in those ten years I couldn’t think about wrestling without getting super upset over it] [seth ‘sluttin’ rollins ily but you caused me my first trauma] BUT if you’re talking like when I started watching it ‘properly’ I’d say around 3/4 months ago!
•As yk I always have unpopular opinions and my first favourite wrestler is no different, when I was younger watching with my dad my favourite was Elias! I lovedddd when he came out playing his guitar [fun fact that’s actually what caused *me* to start playing guitar which I still do to this day] and I’d always be like ‘nooo the crowd needs to let him playyyy’ [he was being mean to the crowd LMAO] ALSO HONOERARY MENTION TO LIKE MY FAVOURITE WRESTLING THING WHEN I WAS YOUNGER; ‘W.W.E.? WALK. WITH. ELIAS.’
•Some of my favourite accounts are yours! Also my good friend @outsiderswolfpac / @incorrectwwfquotes and I also lovee seeing posts from @seasonal-depression-of-punk and I can’t remember their @ but shoutout to the person who always sends me Isaac Yankem content ily [platonic] [there’s also others but I’m really bad at remembering their @‘s but @ all my moots ily, platonic]
•I don’t watch many shows but I love bob’s burgers and when I watched steven universe it made me feel things lmao, as for movies I’m about to say the most unpopular answer, like no one will ever say this but me but my favourite movie is the return of the texas chainsaw massacre [im about to butcher some spellings rn but yes the one that was *so* bad matthew mcconohey’s agent tried to sue and get the movie retook off the shelves after putting them back on sale after rene zelwegger got famous and they thought that would cause sales to go up because he claimed it was ‘defamation of his name’ having his name on that movie] [it’s suchhh a stupid movie i adore it]
I HOPE YOUR DAY IS GOING GOOD TOO :D

Horace: Hey, if I go in there, that's horsenapping. My father is a lawyer so I know what I'm talking about okay. Yosemite Sam: Among other evils which being unarmed brings you, it causes you to be despised! That's Niccolo Machiavelli! Now git! Horace: Okay, okay. I need to use your bathroom anyway.
