Omg omg omg "Here comes the tickle monster" with ler!Jing Yuan and lee!Yanqing! If that's okay ofc💕
Mischievious Prompts [Still Open]
“My lord, please, you should still be resting…”
“A little rest is good for the soul,” Jing Yuan smiled back, gazing out the window; “But too much, and one risks becoming lethargic.”
Yanqing sighed softly, his brow furrowing with worry as he gazed at the general’s back. While it was true that Jing Yuan was bouncing back well, a part of him – the part that was still attached to his mentor – still stressed over the depth of his wounds. Jing Yuan could be like a cat at the best of times, concealing facets of his health to avoid worrying those he cared for – and giving his enemies an advantage, all the same.
“... I understand,” The young warrior managed after a moment, knowing better than to push his luck too far; “In that case, if there’s anything I can do to help, please, let me be of service.”
“Hm.”
Jing Yuan turned to look down upon Yanqing, a soft smile upon his lips as he took in the boy’s worried state – and with a soft chuckle, he nodded, turning to face him fully as Yanqing perked to attention.
“There is one thing…”
Something about the general’s tone struck a memory for Yanqing, who promptly tensed – suddenly overwhelmingly glad that there were no other members of staff present in Jing Yuan’s office. As the older warrior stepped forward, he stepped back, swallowing as he realized where this was going.
“My lord…! You can’t be serious – your condition is –”
“Not severe enough to stop the tickle monster!”
In a split moment, Jing Yuan grinned and started closer, earning a yelp of alarm from Yanqing as he darted away in turn, quickly moving to stay out of reach – though he couldn’t stop the anticipatory, equally entertained smile from seizing his features, nor the squeal that escaped him when the general finally seized his target.
“Here it comes!”
“Eeyah! Nohohoo, my - my lohord…!”
Ultimately, a little laughter was a soothing balm for both of their souls – and for those who passed by the office’s doors, pausing to smile at the muffled sounds of play within. All would be well within the Divination Commission.
There's this kind of hybrid artstyle in comics lately that I wanna learn how to do (i just wanna stare at them coz its too pretty). Would it be an insult to call it hybrid? Hybrid in a way that its more anime-ish/cartoon-ish...but still very much in comic artstyle. It's very stylized too, and it's more softer and expressive on the face, and I love it.
I don't know if its a real thing, or I'm just seeing things in my fave artists in comics
Jorge Jimenez (Super Son Vol. 1)
Simone di Meo (Robin 2021 #16)
Belen Ortega (Batman 2016)
Yasmine Putri (Robin 80th Anniversary)
For chibi, theres
Dustin Nguyen (Lil Gotham 2021)
Juni Ba (Boy Wonder 2024)
Other notable artists that I like: (1) Patrick Gleason for giving us RSOB & for drawing kids who look like kids; (2) Joelle Jones for lineart; (3) Christopher Mittens for inking and panelling; (4) Otto Schmidt for character dynamic & fight scenes; (5) Gabriel Picolo for nostalgic DCAM feels
Actually I was going to post this along with her full bio but I realized that it would take me quite a while to write it so I decided to post what I have so far - some very brief info
HELLO! i adore your hcs too much 😭 and i want to ask if you have anything about stéphane from rose griffon? for some reason i feel like he’s underrated compared to the other midfielders,, (p.s. jean is LITERALLY this emoji: 😈)
AAAA Thank you so much!!! ;v; And I have quite a lot for him, so I'll share some!
Stéphane is from Nimes, a city from the south of France, mostly known for its roman colosseum (Les Arènes) that hosts events like bullfights and such. In just a couple of years, Stéphane went from seeing the place from afar... To performing chansons on it.
But to summarize the how; it all goes back to some years before the FFI. Even though he wasn't popular yet, Stéphane had a huge love for music, so alongside school he would assist special classes as to write music. It was there when his first songs came from; at first covers yet eventually branching out to more original lyrics and melodies. However, those were meant only to be listened by his teachers and classmates. That was until, at the end of the year, a local radio host offered the kids to showcase their best tunes across the country.
...However, what nobody was expecting is that of all the broadcasted songs, Stéphane's one would awaken a frenzy in the public. Soon enough the station was bombarded with letters of fans begging the hosts to play the song more often, and also as to know who had composed such masterpiece. The thing had became so big that after a long discussion, the Henno agreed to release few of Stéphane's songs in the form of a CD. A huge success!
So, as time went on till the FFI, Stéphane kept composing songs; some being kept private and others published on CDs, all of them still selling like crazy -and even worldwide!-. Though despite being at a different level of skill and fame than his classmates, he still insists on assisting composing classes. Too bad he sticks out like a sore thumb.
At least compared of those of his same level, Stéphane prefers to be humble. No matter how much fame or skill he has, he still insists to live in a low profile, never wanting to consider himself "different" just because of his circumstances. For example, although he has made enough money as to soon move to the more "artistic" Paris, Stéphane insists he wants to keep living on Nimes, because no matter how simple or small it is; that's the place that saw him grow.
...He's not that different from Laurent, who also desires to live like a normal person, so I can see them getting on well. I can also see him be on good terms with Ronny, even though the latter prefers luxury over simplicity. Émile is one of Stéphane's many fans, and once he got the chance to, he asked him to sign his CD case. And as for Pierre and Julien... He's way too calm to properly understand them 😭
I'll cut this here to avoid writing too much. Nonetheless, hope you like it! ♥ And you can always ask for more or any other character 👌
(AND YES YOU'RE RIGHT!!! Every time I saw that emoji I was like "JEAN GUTAIN????" 😈😭)
I was trying to find some angsty Kris-focused deltarune fanfics on AO3 right?
So explain to me why more than 3/4ths of them all had a tag called, and I shit you not, “Male Kris”. Excuse me. What. Hello???
they’re a non-binary, androgynous human that uses they/them why are you writing an entire story where you make them a male that uses he/him
not to mention all of these fics were actually really well written based on the small snippets of them that I read, but seriously is it THAT HARD to atleast respect the pronouns they use?? You could change the ‘he/him’ to ‘they/them’ and it would be like the perfect angsty fanfic
and it’s not just a homophobia thing because they would let other LGBTQ characters stay the same (like Noelle being lesbian), and a few that included the Vessel let them have they/them, so why can’t Kris use they/them???
I love Ceren Nightchant but the thing that confuses me about him is that whenever I say "Ceren Nightchant" I don't know WHICH one I'm talking about. Like of course there is no other Ceren, but after the tutorial update he was the only character that got a personality upgrade so major it's as if Ceren WAS two completely different people. Like if someone came up to me and said "Actually his name is Schmeren and he's Ceren's younger brother they just typed in his name wrong during the update" that would actually be believable because of how DIFFERENT the personality shift was
AND THIS ISN'T A BAD THING in fact I think I actually like New "Anti Skeleton Pirate" Ceren Nightchant better than the old one IN REGARDS TO HIS NEW PERSONALITY!!! Like I will always have a special love for Old "Greetings :)" Ceren Nightchant but that's only because of Nostalgia and completely untrue facts about him I made up in my head. Unfortunately pre-update Ceren Nightchant doesn't have that much going for him in terms of how interesting he is in comparison to the new one where they gave us like a whole heaping plate of characterization and nuance to his character
With Malorn it's different because he actually has a backstory. Like he's Important to the lore. He doesn't have like any screentime but just his story ALONE is enough to spin off completely into new exciting territory; we don't NEED anything else to hook us in because Malorn already has a hook, his relationships with his fellow teachers and students + his status as a powerful Necromancer + Malistaire's legacy affecting him.
Meanwhile Ceren Nightchant was a blank slate. We know he was in Unicorn Way for some reason despite not living there, not being a trained guard in handling the Twilight Zone situation, he was Just There and I think that's the only One Single Thing that was interesting about him.
And even though that still technically is the case with the new Ceren, LOOK AT HOW HE IS NOW. He's a CLOWN, a kind, happy, ridiculously powerful and intelligent clown who has a weird intolerance for undead pillagers and seems to get along great with our character!!! That's not like, groundbreaking lore like with Malorn or even Duncan, but idk there's just something so fresh and funny and exciting about this new bouncy iteration of a character we've known nothing about for like the past 20 years
So like in terms of nostalgia and personal headcanons, Greetings Nightchant will always be special to me but in terms of like being an actual character with more of a role in the story and a fresher dynamic with the characters around him, SkeLeTaL pIrAtEs Nightchant will be no. 1 for me
all in all im still a hater of the one widespread english translation of kiss of the spider woman (book) but i dont like the movie all that much so i guess ill just tell people to read the book and like . take it with a grain of salt ←just googled this expression idk if its correct. but its a really good book so everyone should read it one way or another
Tears of the Kingdom isn’t the first time we’ve heard the phrase The Imprisoning War in Zelda lore
It’s also the term used in the Downfall Timeline as a precursor to LttP when Ganon was unleashed from the Sacred Realm and the King and the Sages rushed to fight the Demon King and re-seal the Sacred Realm, with no mention of a hero
Could TotK Imprisoning War and the LttP Imprisoning War be one and the same, with specific details being lost to time by the beginning of the game?
