Notes on Krittika Nakshatra

*Krittika nakshatra is a Sun ruled nakshatra located in Sidereal Taurus.

Krittika’s shakti is the ability to burn or purify impurities. Krittika is ruled by Agni, who is the God of divine fire. From my own research, I’ve seen Agni as destructive or as nourishing. Fire can cook food, warm people, and in a spiritual sense, motivate people. Fire can burn, kill, destroy everything in its path, and in general, cause harm. It’s all about how the power is wielded.

On Astro Tumblr and Twitter, we’ve seen a few people mention Krittika’s connection to the vampire, which can represent a tempestuous bodily desire that makes one feel unclean, dirty, immoral (i.e Nosferatu, Interview With the Vampire) and the need to find discipline, control over one’s power/ability to cause chaos (i.e Twilight). In conjunction, it should be mentioned that the Sun is an enemy to Venus (those pleasurable comforts, for brevity) and friend to Mars (harnessed power, ambition, and action). Therefore, Krittika often has these dilemmas on morality (good v. bad), how to properly conduct themselves, how to not succumb to their own desires and their image. And if we follow the understanding of Krittika as the first man or Adam, it makes sense!

Many Krittika natives will be able to understand the feeling of being unable to keep up to the moral standard / personal and societal expectations, debating whether or not they are acting in good faith. This could lead to going the path of a lone wolf, nomadic, not beholden to the obligation of any tribe / being afraid of taking care of their responsibilities. The Sun is prideful, but ultimately provides light to everyone. It has to show its face and is aware of their duty and power, their potential to rise/fail. Krittika natives can often be self-critical, anxious, and want to burn away all of their impurities to show a better version of themselves to the world. As a result, they may be highly self-conscious, when underdeveloped. Potentially, this could lead to having very strong feelings / reactions and then rationalizing them because Krittika’s symbol is, of course, the knife. And, for a real world example, I think it’s interesting that Zion Williamson, an American basketball player, (AA rated birth time) has Jupiter conjunct Saturn in Krittika (3H). Williamson is often mocked for his weight, being overly indulgent with food and women, being undisciplined and not being a team player (he didn’t even introduce himself to a new recruit for the New Orleans Pelicans.) To be fair, he has a Purva Phalguni Moon, but it’s something to look at.

I also think her main target would be shirty frat boys. Gurlie is a man whores worst nightmare and the savior of brokenheartes that were a result of cheating assholes.

I think Zayne would be like "That checks out" because she was just as feral as a child. They met because she was the weird kid who scared off his bullies when they were in kindergarten. He'd just be worried about how that would've affected her condition but other than that he just shivers at the thought of what college MC would've been like....and just the slightest bit turned on.

For Rafayel I think he'd be a Lil upset that he wasn't there to witness it first hand. Like he'd be her number 1 hype man while also helping her out when she's off her guard. As a warrior himself, he respects her fighting style though, and how she only fought to protect the innocent. In all, he just wants to know everything about her college life and he often finds himself comparing it to the present her. Just to see what's different and what stays the same. He still wants a demonstration of how tf she threw cars at ppl. I can see him getting so excited at her displaying her strength... and again all of them are weird as fuck so he obviously finds it Hella attractive.

The original AA kids were tortured, lied to by their mentors & forced to be child soldiers. Half of them didn't even want to be there, Hank Pym promised to fix their broken powers and completely failed to help them in any way. And then they were kidnapped by Arcade for his Hunger Game. The new academy hasn't been around long enough to be properly judged but a Nazi bee man broke through security on day 1 so not looking good.

Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters:

Fifty-fifty chance you'll end up in a terrorist cell. Regardless, you'll end up a child soldier with zero privacy because most of the psychics (especially Charles) don't have any problem with reading your thoughts at any given moment. Half the teachers have been X-Force members and being a teenager won't stop you from becoming one either. Don't want to be a superhero? Just want to go to school? Fuck you. The worst super school by the widest of margins and I haven't even listed half the hazards.

Future Foundation:

Probably the safest one on this list but I'm subtracting points for making its students be in proximity to Reed Richards. I don't trust him not to run experiments on his own kids let alone anyone else's.

I think that's part of it. I think a part of it is also people not viewing it as him getting healing from his abuse. Minthara doesn't really have any other arcs. The only reason we can still recruit her in a "good" route is people found a loophole and Larian decided to roll with it. She is who she is. And she doesn't change (much). If we really wanted to get into it, raiding the grove to fuck Minthy while she's still under the absolutes control could be seen as pretty fucked up if you think about it too much. But it's not supposed to be viewed that way. I think if Astarion was a woman and ascended, She'd be viewed as a sexy villain who said "fuck abusers" and took control over her future. ESPECIALLY if Cazador is still a man in that universe. But I could be wrong. I think there's definately a double standard. There's also a double standard with A!A ships. Bloodweave is hot and interesting, but A!A x Tav is abuse and fetishising toxic relationships.

I Gotta Do This Because It’ll Drive Me Crazy If I Don’t. i know ace attorney is kind of a silly game series by nature but there’s also just so many possibilities in terms of fleshing out themes and dynamics and Very high stakes scenarios that imagining these characters as real people who have to deal with these things is a) very entertaining and b) very freeing as a writer! especially with characters like ema and klavier, whose stories are so obviously complex despite the fact that we only see very brief glimpses into their lives

aa was one of those things that i had been Meaning to get into for a loooong time and never did (i don’t own any game consoles/hardware able to run them but i have always enjoyed watching other people play video games, especially ones focused around narrative storytelling)

around july/august of 2024 @frankierotwinkdeath sent me the prozd & mankey lp and i ended up getting kind of addicted to it. i so Desperately wanted to know what happened in apollo justice that once i had watched all of those videos, i turned to savedata (love those guys, they rule). eventually, i recruited a bunch of my long distance actor friends to play and voice act the first game with me over discord and it has been soooo fun. we’re on 1-4 right now and they love the Drama of it all (even if the mechanics are grating sometimes)

Keep walking, Luis muttered, keeping his head down low as they passed the cheerful teal recruitment stand with the intertwined snakes. My uncle signed up with them guys last year, and what they sent back weren't enough to fill a Yip-Loc.

That was twenty years ago. He thinks about it every now and then, on the mornings where he wakes up and his side is a single roiling sea of pain and fire. They counted fifteen pieces of shrapnel on the X-Ray after all was said and done, and told him to thank his lucky stars. The others in his squad - well, their constellation wasn't nearly so fortunate, vaporized as they had been with the rest of the tiltrotor. Extracting the fragments was out of the question, of course; not at his rank or his pay grade.  

The pills helped, for a while - one of the perks of holding guns for Big Pharma, until the pills did less and less and chewed out more and more of his paycheck with each passing month. And the aches and pains kept piling up, oh yes: bullet wounds, broken bones, concussions.

Then the cuts came. Dropping from AA to A combat readiness hurt as bad as that tiltrotor explosion once he discovered what it meant for his monthlies. The drop from A to BB+, worse still - out of the A-range, the money jobs dried up, the rotations got longer. Months of guard duty at some packing plant in Senegal, days staring into the middle distance, nights tossing in some shack because the drugs, the damned drugs that cost him 60% of his monthlies, were just about enough to keep him from putting a bullet in his head and not a speck more.

It was during one of those sleepless stretches - 3 AM, rolling on those cheap-and-gritty synthetic sheets that kept the sweat and piss at bay - that he finally got the message. Literally: they'd injected the text into one of his PharmaPlan updates, right below the cheerful form-written paragraphs about how his prescriptions were going to go up another 5% TO BETTER SERVE YOU, THE CUSTOMER. There they were: six lines of chimeric text, shifting fonts and colors to stay ahead of the content filters; one highly illegal job offer backed by a number in Reconstruction Dollars bigger than anything that had troubled his pay slips in the last ten years.

Two days later: a routine run, hawk-eyeing an autovan full of antiagathics en route to the airport and from there to the Sil-Val elite, each golden pill worth more than he, his squad, their tracks, their guns and implants. Making the turn onto Bassovar Highway, that damned side flared up again and - fuck it, the last physical was going to drop him to CCC by month's end anyway...

Five minutes later, sweating and aching, he dragged himself from the white-hot wreckage of the tracker. The autovan was history too, flames sparkling green and white as the triple-patented chemicals in the cargo blistered away. At the speeds they were traveling - TIME IS MONEY! TIME IS MONEY! - the vehicle's bastard robot brain never saw it coming. One clean hit, flip, boom. AAA.

Now all he had to do was find his contact and get the hell out.
