I can’t get into 90% of “Dark (Character X)” fics because I find that it usually means that the character in question is behaving less like themselves and more like a stereotypical evil seme/mustache twirling villain and often just being used as a prop to whump on Character Y. But every once in I do come across that 10% that feels real and beautiful and true and makes me go “while I don’t think that they would do something that fucked up if they did that’s exactly how they would do it”

#I’ve realized I so many posts that ultimately amount to ‘I need villains to act like human beings or I can’t get into it’#and if you’re going to make a character who usually isn’t evil do fucked up shit I need to be convinced #which is kind of hard to do because morality is a core part of someone’s personality so you have to be really careful if you wanna stretch #it and still have it feel believable for the character. But I have seen it done well I think #Comic books are funny because you get this in canon when they do ‘Hero X turns evil’ arcs/alternate universes #and you get the same rate of 9 misses for every 1 hit. For example this post is about many things but one thing that came to mind while #writing this is Vampire King Dick Grayson. As much as I want to love the concept of Vampire Dick he does kinda come across as a generic #villain. Like I would truly love to watch Dick malewife mansplain manipulate his way through the entire justice league and all of his #friends and family but I couldn’t really get fully get into it unless it really felt like Dick Grayson. But perhaps there are limits to how #far you can stretch characterization while still feeling believable. And trust me I am not one of those people who r incapable of believin #that hero characters can do bad things but there is a limit where you have to start providing explanations for Why Would He Say That

The garden was a place of paradise to someone like Xaos. A place where he didn't need clothes, and more importantly to him, he was surrounded by beautiful women in this place of pleasure.

As if on cue, eyes spotted the former hero known as Midnight. She was the kind of woman that would usually make him weak in the knees. If this was a place of pleasure, there'd be no harm in being direct.

He approached the cave entrance she was standing by. "Uh... Hey! My names Xaos and I was wondering if you wanted to have sex with me." He asked in his very direct and very Xaos way.

Midnight was enjoying a small rest near the entrance of the caves. She had trekked through the jungle to get here, and would soon delve into Sothis's domain to enjoy a relaxing stroll through the crystal-lit caverns. At least, that was the plan...

But then, someone approached and rather immediately asked for sex. Midnight was hardly put off, as this sort of thing was common in the Garden. "Oh? Hmm... Well, I was planning to take a stroll through the caves in just a moment, but I guess I can indulge a quickie before I head inside~"

The Snyderverse was a artistic hollow, emotionally stunted, intellectually shallow era of movies made by and for those who just want things to look badass, cool, and aggressively masculine.

#it is no surprise to me that the snyder cult is made up of a lot of right wing wannbe macho types who complain about things being too woke #who see no problem harassing anyone who doesn't share their narrowminded views #people who talk about how Watchmen and dark knight returns are the best dc comics but have probably only skimmed through them #not understanding them at all #just seeing batman beat up superman and going “cool”#which applies to zs himself too #he clearly missed the whole point of watchmen by trying to make them all look cool characters #and badass heroes when the whole point is they are not #he just saw a superhero story with sex and violence and though it was awesome #that is clearly what his idea of a mature work is #not something that is emotionally mature #no just all the r rated stuff kids aren't allowed to see #because anything kids can enjoy is lame #his movies are for adults #which are his own words #him and his fans really don't seem to like comics as they are #they only like the ones generally considered cool
