would 27 be too old to go to law school? I'm constantly afraid I will be too old once I'm out and never be able to compete with younger graduates :(

Not even a little.

First off, you're only "behind" (and I'm using so, so many quotes) by 4-5 years. That's nothing. When I was in law school, I was in class and hung out with a number of full-fledged adults who already had established careers, partners or spouses, children, etc. but had gone back to get their JD. In many ways, they were more thoughtful, more interesting, better students, because they had already been in the world for a time. They knew themselves, and how to manage their work, along with a punishing schedule.

Additionally, these students often had experience that made them highly prized by law firms---if you already have your MPH or have been a practicing nurse, if you've been working as a chemical engineer for the past few years, it signals to law firms that you have specialized knowledge that 3 years of law school simply doesn't grant. Even if you haven't been learning different coding languages, you still probably know how to send a professional email, speak with clarity, collaborate, and those skills have value too.

Now, if you want to follow the stereotypical track for a high-achieving law student---T14 law school, nab a summer associate gig or federal clerkship, ride that to a six-figure salary at a Chambers-ranked firm---it might be a little trickier. A little. Not because you're not capable, but because you might not fit the outline hiring managers and partners expect; in that case you'll have to work harder to catch their attention. I definitely don't think it's a complete bar (swanky law firms want to hire engineers-turned-IP lawyers too!) but something to keep in mind.

My advice when it comes to law school is always to go in with an absolutely clear-eyed understanding of what you want out of it. If you don't have that yet, if you're just tired of your current job and looking for something else, don't go. But if you've thought about this, gone back and forth and considered all the pros and cons, and you know? Age ain't nothing but a number, baby.

i’ve been writing for as long as i can remember, but i still feel behind in a way. my writing is not even close to where i want it to be and it can be really frustrating and demotivating to have some grand idea for a scene but not be able to execute it properly.

and i absolutely adore your writing. i think you’re brilliant and endlessly talented and i wish my writing could be even half as good as yours.

sooooooo do you have any tips for improving writing? i know practice makes perfect or whatever but i need something more specific. i really struggle with not being descriptive enough (especially with any kind of physical touch). how can i improve on that?

So uhhhh baby rats! Actually because of a mistake back when I owned rats I had the pleasure of helping raise some baby rats!! It was Nerve-wracking as you might expect but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything I'd love to run like a rattery or something some day I love. Baby rats ANYWAY

But did you know that it only takes them THREE WEEKS to go from that to THIS?

Like dogs and cats, rats are born blind and deaf. The main difference is that the "toddler stage" for rats lasts, like. A week. And then they're pretty much good to go. Pups (that's what baby rats are called) should stay with their mother for as long as possible to build up social behaviors, ideally around 5/6 weeks for the males and until they get sold (or never) for the females; however, in theory, they can be taken away from their mother at 3/4 weeks old and function fine, provided they're weaned. Males need to be separated at around a month and a half because some rats are capable of starting their own families at only five weeks old.

It makes sense rats develop this quickly due to their incredibly short lifespans, but it still blows me away how fast they grow. It's insane to watch it happen in real time. They're so fascinating to me

so the only time i've really seen Fyodor in a fic he gave good advice and while the author acknowledged that he was OOC in the beginning of the fic (for other reasons) i ALSO want to say that Fyodor is NOT out here giving good advice my man told Dazai to manipulate a woman into relying on him in order to get her to go out with him Fyodor is smart but he is SOOO DUMB he would give the WORST advice

Okay so go get a level one Rattata and shove a focus sash on it. Make sure it has Guts as it's ability. From there you just use endeavor, and then after either use quick attack, or pursuit if you're really confident they're going to switch out.
