does anyone have experience using ko-fi as an artist who's Not regularly posting stuff with it, just as a tip jar and/or way to manage comissions?
i've been thinking about offering them again, but the organisational overhead is… a stumbling block.

y'all ever think about the phrasing used in the bifrost incident? "any schoolchild could tell you about it." lyf this is supposed to be an official report. "high up nose turning Asgardian hobnob" this is probably going to your boss. "almost a century ruling Asgard, you'd think she'd be a better public speaker" babygirl ur gonna get fired

As great as "fuck you and fuck your train" is i think we sleep on another line
The one that implies that lyf and just the police in general are pissed that the mechanisms won't age.

mechs au where lyfrassir escapes the bifrost and is jumping from planet to planet, and whenever they interact with the mechs it's always raphaella, marius and ivy. the rest of them are convinced those 3 just have an imaginary friend

Team give lyfrassir edda tentacles. Not in a horny way. I mean, sure if that's your thing, but that's not what the point of this post is. the rainbowed hair, blood, and eyes are cool and all but I need something a little less pretty bifrost glow-up and a little more I-got-turned-into-an-eldritch-monstrosity-and-can't-go-out-in-public-anymore.
Not full on monster level (though bonus points if they have a barely even human-esque form when they're angry or using their powers). I want them to still be decipherably humanoid, or recognizable by someone who'd met them before all this. but something that could conceivably be achieved by a cosplay is not enough for my hp Lovecraft body horror needs. my ideal post-tbi lyf design has become the subject of several drastic urban legends simply by walking around the street and not interacting with anyone.
so yeah. give the fricker tentacles that don't go away and are a nuisance to find clothes to wear with. make Marius find them pretty even when the way they've been changed isn't conventionally attractive. Please reblog with any personal hcs you have about their cosmic horror appearance that are a bit more screwed up than the norm, lyf edda is my barbie and I like dressing them up in nuclear chaos lmao

another assassins creed worldless ref sheet ouuuuuughhhhh
Tumblr media
you know the drill rambles under cut
In this AU, light folk are born with specific weapons associated with their being, and can manifest and de-manifest them at any time. dark beings, meanwhile, must physically carry them and get them forged out of either light or dark essence.
Edda’s soul weapon is (and I swear this isn’t an insult) a bastard sword. also known as a great-short sword, made to be held in either one or two hands. She likes the versatility but prefers to use it two-handed, and actually doesn’t mind the name. She has ideals of a world that lacks meaningless conflict, and if one conflict is meaningless, it’s calling someone names over stuff they can’t control.
Her shoulderpads are the only pieces of armor visible in her abstract form. the other pieces cover all of the vitals in her stomach, and she has pieces on her thighs to protect her femoral arteries. the rest is largely unarmored for freedom of movement. all she really needs to do is protect the important spots, that way nobody can get a quick kill on her.
Her gauntlets also protect her wrists, and have minor ice infusions. this makes them slightly slippery so nobody can grab her wrist to reposition her and go for a stab. it also does ice damage things when she punches people (which is surprisingly often), which has minor energy-sapping effects for slowing assassins trying to run.
that’s about it for her gear and such. I have some slightly set-in stone characterization for her (at least more than for Aven) but this post is long enough so that’s a story for another day.

Starfolk Lore!
(I'm stealing this term, if you don't mind >:D)
Anyways, Worldless lore! Because lore is my favorite part of every game.
From what we know, there are two main natures -- blue and orange -- that are constantly at war with each other. Once one wins over the other, the victor absorbs the loser, taking their energy and shifting both of their forms. They then swap natures, and the victor goes on their way while the loser bums around, probably out of exhaustion or smth. Blue starfolk tend to have either lightning or ice natures, while orange starfolk favor wind and fire (because colors~)
However, rarely, the absorption results in a sort of merge where the combatants fuse to become a single green starfolk. This is where Adaptation, Duality, and Yin-Yang come from, and you can see it happen in the Eastern area of the map. If I remember correctly, it's a crescent and ariman(?) that forms Quimera.
These merged starfolk gain an incredible amount of power, as the most powerful enemies in the game (*cough* Summum *cough*) and can be assumed to be a sort of ascendance, as they no longer obey either of their original natures. Also, from the character designs, it appears that the more green a starfolk has, the more powerful and "near-perfect" they are, hence the extreme difficulty of Summum's fight. The sole exception to this appears to be Edda and Aven.
While yes, Duality has two individual, fully-functioning parts that each have at least some independent thought, Edda and Aven are two completely separate beings. They are physically separated, even though you never see them next to each other unless it's in cutscenes or in special moves, unlike Duality who clearly merges to perform their giant star attacks. Part of that is logicked away to the functionality of gameplay controls, but still. There is no evidence of their merge until they touch, in which green light covers the screen, or the giant sword from Unified Division appears. We are clearly told that whatever they have going on is special in a way that has caught the eye of what is closest to a god in their universe (which is a whole other can of worms that I'll write about later). Either way, they're much stronger than the traditional green starfolk, as seen by the fact that people can beat Summum in 4 minutes *Gestures at speedrun video*.
Now, I also want to touch on whatever the heck is up with Edda and Aven's absorption. We can see in the background -- within 3 minutes of starting the game -- that whenever a starfolk is absorbed, they swap natures and are distorted beyond recognition. However, whenever Edda (and later Aven) does the same, they remain perfectly untouched while the enemy is completely obliterated. I, personally, think this is an ability granted to them following Aved's failed absorption of Edda at the start, where the two are something like a "ever-strengthening" or "consuming" being like how Adaptation is the "ever-changing" and Yin-Yang is the "stable yet unstable" being. Their initial merge is also probably why their own kinds attack them, which took me embarrassingly long to realize.
That's all I can really think of at the moment, but I might write more later.
Please let me know if I messed up or need to add stuff! I'm writing this all from memory!

Also on the topic of Trans headcanons for the duo (Based on the Chat of Skurry's recent stream)
But I think it would be funny to see masc! Edda. Like I already see some takes of "Aven but female" (Which is honestly rad. Go figure!), but taking it in the opposite direction would be fun.
Also Transmasc Edda would be a neat take.

i just got to the big backstory dump (aka the ~dread wolf's~ regrets/memories) in veilguard and. uh.
obvious caveat, i'm not done yet with the game, but anyways
h o w is this so neat (solas Was a spirit! origin of first elves! reason for the war with the titans! concrete blight origin!) and yet ALSO THE MESSIEST FUCKING SHIT
i canNOT imagine they had this whole blighted-gods-will-break-the-prison thing planned during trespasser/da:i like. the disconnect??? yes, solas obvs knows SOMETHING about the blight in da:i, but EVERYTHING he says is about the veil, about the mistake he made and what it cost the elves/spirits
LIKE CAN WE BE CLEAR HERE!!! "the blighted evanuris are going to break out of their prison so i need to put them in a different one" is an UTTERLY different argument to "i (ACCIDENTALLY, APPARENTLY) made the veil Too Big and it fucked up everything so i need to fix it"
like even ignoring all the ways this doesn't gel with trespasser/tevinter nights/etc, and how apparently nothing the inq did wrt solas mattered EVEN A LITTLE BIT it's fine i'm fine i just have to play cognitive dissonance any time either of them opens their fucking mouth
this is fucking messy as hell in veilguard alone??
how does this not come up in ANY of the arguments prior to this. like solas Tells Rook that he wanted to transfer the evanuris bc more secure prison and 'YOU COULD'VE SAID THAT' is? not? one of the dialogue options??
but also varric keeps harping how solas wants someone to sell him a better option, solas himself sounds bitter as fuck that no one actually managed that during the ritual convo
it's like 2 separate arguments trying to happen in tandem and NEITHER OF THEM actually works
like i legit don't know anymore what they're trying to do here? 1st they completely sidestep the core (emotional) conflict set up by da:i and trespasser (can you convince solas otherwise, and if not, How on earth do you stop him? => lol nevermind you can't, and stopping him is super easy actually), then they… bring it back in? kind of?? (varric, lace, inq, and now morrigan all making points re: maybe you can talk him around somehow/influence his fate) With A Character Who Has 0 Emotional Connection To Him, it's fiiiine but then also the whole blighted-evanuris-will-break-free angle is. There. and it's just, what are we actually arguing about now???
also i'm just gonna say it. absolutely not a fan of the implication that the veil in its current form was Fully an accident. like can we stop absolving this man of responsibility (the veil was an accident! mythal made him do all of it!) and at the same time heaping more blame on him in the weirdest fucking ways (still the veil! the blight! dwarves not dreaming!)
i Liked that the veil was smth he created knowingly, bc it was the least horrible, but still Horrible option, and he still underestimated how bad it would be. that's good drama! good tragedy! you thought you could live with the consequences but you can't! and bc you Knowingly and Deliberately made that choice, now you are convinced to the nonexistent marrow of your bones that you specifically HAVE to undo it!
instead it's like. welp the evanuris are gonna break out soon so i gotta put them in a different, Better prison (which is somehow real easy this time around????), and i Might As Well pull down the veil too and get that mistake sorted out
fucking christ.
AND WE'RE STILL NOT TALKING ABOUT THE FACT THAT SOLAS CAN CLEANSE THE GODDAMN BLIGHT
also they nerfed mythal. both in the backstory character-wise, and narratively in the present, bc welp! she's just here to drop some vague lore and info! and then they fucking pulled a mystra on the fragment of her that you Do actually get to meet. where is my horrific dragon all-mother goddess
(not even joking, they should've just gotten flemeth's va for her, this one has like. 0 presence in comparison.)
like. stay with me here. yes i know the point is that the evanuris weren't Actually gods. but also they're 1. literally a diff type of being than modern people. 2. for someone to be seen AS A GOD, even falsely, in a world that is as infused with magic and buckwild shit that we know ancient arlathan to be? i'm expecting more than the most milquetoast glowing elf lady you've ever seen
dumping the sentinel designs from da:i was a Mistake, and okay Now i can climb off my soapbox, tyvm everyone

maybe I've not listened far enough but consider: tma and mechs crossover with lyf as avatar of the extinction. because as far as I've listened (mag 144), and as far as I've seen spoilers, there isnt a canon avatar of the extinction. Lyfrassir as perhaps not the bringer, but the herald, the harbinger, of the everything you know is changing. of everything you recognize is gone. of you do not know the things that inherit what you once loved but here they are nonetheless. the last landmark of what was and the first of what will soon be all you see. the grief in their eyes all too similar to what once ruled this system and the warping changing color spilling out of every pore the marker of what will soon be coming for YOU.

Ivy can't sleep alone so when she does eventually sleep (which is not often. She runs her computer until it forces a shutdown) she will crawl onto someone else
Usally its a celebratory matter as it means she's deemed you the safest and comfiest to sleep with
I can imagine this happening with Lyf and Marius and lyf is just confused because they've never seen this happen.
Marius explains and when lyf asks why she has to sleep on top of someone else he just shrugs. Truth be told they don't really know why but they have to help each other out in whatever ways they can
Ivys probably already asleep by the time he finishes explaining and then it just becomes a small cuddle pile

Just two lovebirds vibing at a bar (probably during a less active period for said bar)
(ID in alt and under cut)
[ID:
A traditionell pencil sketch coloured digitally, of Arthur from Red shoes and the seven dwarfs and my oc Edda (A pale chubby woman, with deep eyebags, brown hair and grey eyes) sitting on two barstools in-front of a bar. They have their backs to the viewer, but are slightly turned to each other. Arthur’s carrying his sword on his back, and has his hand placed on Eddas back, smiling softly at her while faintly blushing. Edda has her hair up in a bun, is dressed in a off white poofy shirt, dark red bodice and skirt, and seems to be in the middle of talking, gesturing with her hand in the air. Half of her face is covered by her bags, but both her eyes and eyebrows are still visible through the hair. Behind the bar is a shelf with bottles and empty glasses and to the left side is a large beer barrel. They are lit in a warm orange light. The drawing has a watercolour like colouring, most pronounced in the background where there’s only faint remains of the original traditional sketch left, with a few highlights drawn in a textured pencil brush. The sketch is dated 19/11 2023, the date being faintly visible over the shelf in the background. On the bottom left is a signature reading “cookieek”.
