"We were two young men at the start of a great career. Two young men devoted to an illusion. Two young men who never intended to hurt anyone."
Which knot did you tie, Borden?

Like Minds is like The Prestige, Jr. but somehow the junior version is much more intense and has blood and gore all over the place.
Cracks is more like Malena, Jr. or maybe if Doubt 2008 were about Anglican girls.
like minds (2006) and cracks (2009) are opposite ends of the same fucked up boarding school movies with homoeroticism spectrum

The Prestige (2006)
This is a Movie Health Community evaluation. It is intended to inform people of potential health hazards in movies and does not reflect the quality of the film itself. The information presented here has not been reviewed by any medical professionals.
The Prestige has several scenes featuring machines that create bright arcs of electricity, which in turn create severe strobe effects. This film is almost always safe to watch when it is quieter, as these machines are very loud. There are severe but brief strobes of lightning in the background of one scene.
Handheld cameras are used almost constantly, but never with violent shaking.
Flashing Lights: 10/10. Motion Sickness: 5/10.
TRIGGER WARNING: One character dies by suicide, and another attempts to do so. Two people drown on camera. Some verbal abuse of significant others happens.
NOTE: Our evaluation of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is now available on our Patreon page at Patreon.com/MovieHealth, and will be available on this page on Tuesday, July 4

Film: THE PRESTIGE (d. Christopher Nolan, 2006, USA-UK)
Forum: Doc Films   Format: 35mm
Observations: Maybe sixty folks at this screeing, the beginning of Winter Quarter at Doc for me. Whatever skepticism I might harbor about Nolan as a world-class filmmaker melts in the presence of one of his epics on the big screen. This is a costume drama and double-double-cross thriller rolled into one explosive package. The audience dug it, for sure.
