i‘m all for characters in lgbtq+ movies being complex and i don‘t need every movie to be a romance, but to me this is starting to feel like the dead wife trope in straight media… 🫤

You know that story with like, Evil Chancellor Traytor, who carried a poisoned dagger called Kingslayer, and went around cackling and being the textbook evil advisor? And in the end, it turned out the dagger had been entrusted to him as a failsafe against corruption, and all his muttering and scheming had been about expanding handicap accessibile low-income housing or whatever?

That's Kabru. Manipulative, controlling, with the training of an assassin, ruthlessly persuing his own agenda, which turns out to be .... to save as many lives as possible from the coming catastrophe. He spends half the story sounding like a power-hungry narcissist with good spin, but no. Turns out his "for the public good" bit was entirely sincere. It's a fucking delight. Top ten plot twists straight from a children's action figure political drama

Ludinus claims he doesn't want to rule, and I even believe him! He's been content to get what he wants from the shadows for a long time, even when he was in a position of considerable power. He's incredibly single-minded in his goals, and I don't think that's a front that he's putting up.

But there are people who do want to rule once the gods are gone. We know who they are and what they're capable of. We've seen the fear of those who they've already subjugated—and they have subjugated the entirety of the realm that they have access to. We know that they intend to do the same to Exandria, once they get there.

This is why Ludinus's arguments, even those that are logical or technically factual, can be dismissed. Currently, the gods are not a threat to Exandria. Predathos, while it is still caged, is also not truly a threat to Exandria. Perhaps it is possible to allow them all to fight amongst themselves without harm coming to Exandria (though even in that best case scenario, the side effects would likely cause sweeping chaos).

The Weave Mind is currently in the process of preparing to invade and subjugate Exandria, aided and abetted by all of the work Ludinus has done since at least Molaesmyr, and he says nothing about it, because doing so furthers his singular aims while obfuscating the primary, tangible threat to the mortals of Exandria right now.

still not over simon's performance in the finale, because as much as I adore the Captain, and Ben's portrayal of him, it's always Julian that resonated uncomfortably close for me. Alongside Pat, I think he was the one person where emotions are concerned that I always wince and go, yikes, ok that's me sometimes. The way it all hits him in an instant and his movements fail, the breath he takes when he looks to Alison and realizes the enormity of the past five years. Simon nailed that desperation and love so, so fucking well and i don't know why i'm still surprised because the man can fucking ACT.

I'm ngl, and I know that it's said jokingly, in regards to Arcane 2 discourse, a lot of people are hugely minimizing Ekko's intents and impacts. People saying stuff like "Everyone is involved in extreme politics and war meanwhile Ekko just cares about his tree" "Ekko is the lorax" "Ekko just wants his tree to be okay"

As if Ekko hasn't been CLEARLY engaged with the politics and war the whole time.

He's a revolutionary, he built a community, he doesn't turn people away, he directly challenges Jayce's Pilltover-centric mindset literally the whole time they are talking, There's so much to talk about!!

The idea that Ekko only cares about his tree and isn't engaged in politics does a MASSIVE disservice to his character.

Thinking about how I was lowkey (highkey) agreeing with everything Ivenci says about the Crows during my first playthrough, and then I arrived at the point they're revealed to be a traitor and realized you're not supposed to agree with any of their points about what is basically a murder mafia running Antiva not being a good thing. So. that was awkward!

And then I'm playing a Crow for my 2nd playthrough so my Rook just parrots the "Crows are patriots" thing back at them while I'm still agreeing with Ivenci's points. Awkward x2
