Summary: they say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, right?

You walked into the kitchen, in the hopes it’d be empty since you really wanted to cook something instead of ordering take out. Again.

Since you became an avenger you’ve noticed how little time you had to cook proper meals, especially when you had to go from one mission to another.

But finally you had three days off, unless there’d be a life and world threatening villain terrorizing the city.

After buying some groceries you came back to a mostly empty compound. From what FRIDAY had told you Tony was in the lab, Clint and Nat training and Steve was jogging with Bucky.

You’ve decided on a very simple dish, spaghetti with meatballs, knowing it was Steve’s favorite dish. Even though he hadn’t told you this you had noticed the ungodly amount of orders at the italian restaurant a couple blocks away, always ordering some kinds of pasta.

Maybe he’d like your dish, too, you hoped.

“FRIDAY, please turn on my playlist for good mood”, you said before getting busy with preparing the food, not even noticing when Steve and Bucky walked past the kitchen to their rooms to shower.

“God, it smells good”, Steve whispered to Bucky, peeking into the kitchen and noticing how you stirred the sauce, while still shaking your hips to the beat of the music a little bit. A smile crept onto the soldiers lips, which Bucky definitely noticed but didn’t mention. “It definitely smells good. You should go and ask her if you can have some before the rest of the team smells it”, Bucky said, patting him on the shoulder.

Steve felt himself blush before nodding and slowly walking to the kitchen, clearing his throat loudly to get your attention. But the music was too loud.

“Miss, Captain Rogers is trying to get your attention”, said FRIDAY, turning down the volume of the music, making you stop immediately, “oh god…”, you whispered while slowly turning around to face him.

That was embarrassing. Especially considering your crush on him.

“Hi Steve, how was the run?”, you asked, blushing furiously while also trying to look at least somewhat casual. “It was alright…what…what are you cooking? It smells really good”, he asked, looking past your shoulder to the pan.

A smile crept onto your lips when you saw the appetite growing in his eyes. “It’s spaghetti with meatballs…would you like some? You must be hungry after all the running?”, without waiting for his answer you turned around to give him some of the food on a plate.

When you turned back around he was already sitting at the counter with a big smile on his face. “It smells really tasty”, he chuckled, scratching his slightly damp hair from the sweat. “I hope it’ll taste as good…I have a surprise afterwards, too”, you said while placing the plate in front of him.

After he asked for you to join him too, you sat down in front of him. Then he finally tried the first bite, moaning quietly in pleasure. “Fuck, this is good. Wow”, “it sure has to be to make the captain swear”, you chuckled, eating too.

He ate quickly, without talking much, especially since he had been hungry from all the running. Homemade food definitely tasted better than ordered. It was really good. He hadn’t eaten such a good meal in a while.

When he finished eating (while you still had half of your own portion left), you got up and walked over to the already turned off oven, taking out a pie.

“Wait is that-“ “apple pie. Yeah, you’re all America, aren’t you? With the favorite pie being an apple pie?”, you chuckled while cutting two slices and then bringing them to Steve. A blush had crept onto his face at your comment. “What can i say…I could never refuse apple pie”, he laughed quietly while stabbing his fork into the slice, before wrapping his plump lips around the piece.

He inhaled loudly, closing his eyes. “This is…heaven…”, he mumbled, shaking his head slowly. “Oh my god, I had no idea you were such a good cook and baker…I want this forever.” A chuckle escaped your lips as you listened to his words, “I think I want to marry you”, at which you two blushed furiously and looked up at each other.

“Ask me to dinner first, and then a proposal”, you tried to lighten up the mood, not expecting the coming invite to dinner tonight.

well ! if I'm posting about my other interests ! have a little how-to guide for getting into marble hornets:

firstly, what is it.

that's an answer in two parts! it's a foundational indie horror web series on youtube that was beloved in its time for its mystery, atmosphere, and editing (pioneering or popularizing many of the techniques that you'll see more commonly now in the analogue horror genre, just with the budget of college students in 2009).

and it's remembered fondly Now for its fascinating representation of mental health (in how it subverts the harmful ways that horror tends to depict more stigmatized disorders, but Also in how it depicts mental and physical health in general), and the underlying queer themes that While subtext at the time have ultimately been confirmed as intentional as one co creators (and actor for the main character) has come out as bisexual!

it is Also a wildly creative and beautiful comic series. written solely by troy wagner (the aforementioned co-creator) and illustrated by jackie reynolds (a long time fan of the series and insanely talented illustrator). taking place after the events of the webseries, the comics take full advantage of this new visual medium to express the horror, atmosphere, and emotions of the series in a more visceral way. and being self published they're free to make whatever they'd like

done entirely in water color and ink, it builds beautifully on what was laid down with the original series and carves out its own identity and legacy.

it's also just very lovely seeing queer creators who were once writing subtext be able to just. Be Open about it. both about themselves and their characters. it's a horror story that happens to have queer characters mind, but it's just ! nice.

now ! being internet horror that's sat in that weird space between args and analogue horror (nightmind would call it Unfiction, but unfortunately that term hasn't caught on as much as I'd have liked) it's not as simple to get into as just like, Watching A Show.

that's not to say you Can't just watch it, but rather I have ways to help you get more out of it :>

this is exactly what it says on the tin ! the entire series in order, I've even included the dvd extras at the end of each season !

two notes: firstly, the full series is captioned, and I think they're very nice captions! and secondly, there's a lot of loud noises in the series, which the captions help mitigate a bit. this is due in part to the nature of the kind of horror it is (though it doesn't have straight up jumpscares), but Also because troy wagner was HoH at the time he was doing the audio editing for the series.

there's significantly fewer issues with the audio as the series goes on (troy actually got surgery for his hearing!) but for the most part it's fine just keeping it Somewhat lower. except entry five. entry five is so very loud <3

2: The in-character twitter for jay merrick (the main character of marble hornets): [Link]

much like the youtube channel is presented as being ran by the main character/pov character of the series (jay merrick), the twitter was created to run along-side the main series! it mostly exists to give us further insight into jay's mental state and personal life that you don't get in the main series, especially early on!

it's a little cumbersome nowadays, especially since twitter doesn't Like being archival. but you kind of just have to scroll all the way to the bottom to when the twitter was created and scroll up to follow along jlkfasdjlkfdas

this is made a Little more difficult because the account got hacked in 2020 and reinstated 2021, so all of the dates are wrong now. but the account always posted when new entries were uploaded so it's easy to watch an entry, check what was posted after it was uploaded, and then see the link for the next entry and know to stop until you've watched.

you don't Have to do it this way, but I think it's the way to get the most out of it!

back in the day, youtube allowed you to make Video Replies, which would be displayed Under whatever video you were responding to! this feature was ultimately removed because of the tendency to do make clickbait in response to whatever was currently popular, but it was Wonderful in this instance !

the youtube channel and twitter were presented as in character, and they took advantage of this by having a second channel created (named totheark) start Replying to the entries as they were uploaded. these videos were highly edited and contained codes and secrets that were meant as messages to the main character (and the audience)!

there was a dedicated community for code breaking throughout the show's entire life, and this list here goes through every one! I like this one in particular because it Also gives us information on How the codes were broken, in a digestible way.

4: Nightmind's marble hornets explained series: [Link]

this is definitely Optional. it's obviously not official media, is outdated now that the comics have started, and I'd say was flawed even at its release. (it's not a spoiler if nobody knows what I'm talking about, so I'll say now that I'm not a fan of his theory with masky, and the seth theory is very famously silly).

BUT! I Do think it's a very good resource when it comes to putting certain crucial things together. as the whole point of the series is that it's a Mystery. you see nearly everything out of order and you're intentionally limited in what you know about characters and their motivations. this series works as a good jumping off point in that it helps to put things into Context and change your perspective on certain events and character With the benefit of said context!

like I said, it's not Required, it might just be helpful! a starting point to help chew on things once you've watched the web series in full for the first time.

comics ! they're all available on troy wagner's personal website! (along with other goodies that are periodically available!) you can buy them either physically Or digitally ! personally I'd recommend digital, as it's cheaper, instantly available, and the digital extras are wonderful!

they come with the script for the comics, a commentary version (including comments from troy and jackie on every page), and other extras like backgrounds, behind the scenes sketches, character art, etc!

I would very much so suggest buying the comics if you're interested. this is an indie project being ran and funded by two people (and again! there's other goodies in the store that are worth looking at). buttttttt, my friends may dm me <3

I've created a playlist for Ghost somewhat similar to the ones I usually come across (but not really, kinda wanted to give it a more 2000-2010ish feel?); this one is more focused on him as a character and how he would evolve if he were to find love and hope in someone new (being an OC or a reader), especially after Soap died (rest in peace king). It is still a work in progress as I am still ordering the songs chronologically and without abrupt changes of musical style (in case you are not in shuffle and follow the playlist in order of course!). No. No. I do not have the energy to get into ANOTHER massive franchise that'll give me archive panic.

That said. . .if I am going to get into warrior cats. Where should I start, what can I disregard, and which parts are the best?

It's best to read the main arcs in chronological order: 1. The Prophesies Begin 2. The New Prophecy 3. Power of Three 4. Omen Of The Stars 5. Vision Of Shadows 6. The Broken Code 7. A Starless Clan There's also Dawn Of The Clans, the prequel arc- I'd say a good time to read it would be after Omen Of The Stars, since it's somewhat involved, but it doesn't really NEED to be read to understand anything. Personally, my favorite arc is The Broken Code, but I don't think that's a super common opinion, so maybe ask a few others ^^' I've read nearly all of the books (I started back when VOS was just beginning to release I think)- so I know the stuff you can DEFINITELY disregard are the field guides. Novellas you can just if they interest you but aren't all that necessary; super editions are similar although there are a few that are very important as they happen inbetween arcs and give extra context. For example Firestar's Quest should be read after the first arc! I'd also recommend Crookedstar's Promise just because it's really really good. The warrior cats website has a chronological list of every book if you want to check that out! Imo, a lot of the extra books don't need to be read though, so don't get too turned off by the amount there is LOL ALSOO If you want some MAP recommendations, feel free to ask cause I have a few different playlists of them >:3

A love letter to this wonderful community and my amazing friends

Season 4 Episode 1 Featured on: Now That's What I Call Quality! 2

You're gonna have to excuse me if I get my timeline wrong here, but...New Guy was a known commenter before he was part of the SiIvaGunner team, right?

For those out of the know, sometime around early to mid Season 2 a perculiar youtube commenter made a very bold claim on a SiIvaGunner video. This person, named "New Guy" and sporting a stock photo of a red wagon as their profile picture, declared that he was going to watch EVERY SiIvaGunner rip yet uploaded and comment on each one. To my knowledge, this was before anyone beyond the Wiki had tried to actually categorize the rips in chronological order into a playlist or something to that knowledge. It became a bit of a spectacle to see unfold in the background, going to old rips on occasion to see if New Guy had made it there yet and Liking his comments in support of his endeavor. Eventually, New Guy DID catch up, he sent in a few rips of his own to the channel, was noticed by the internal SiIva team - one thing led to another, and now New Guy is part of the core SiIvaGunner creative team.

With all of that build-up, and all of that history, we move to the start of Season 4, and todays rip. Ripped by New Guy himself before he was made a full member of the team, A love letter to this wonderful community and my amazing friends had the absolute honor of being the debut rip of the season. Paired with the context and visuals, the song takes on an even more emotionally charged feeling than it already holds. It uses the somewhat-obscure EDM song Konpeito by Synthion as its base, and builds on it with a flurry of different sources iconic to the channel mashed up with it along the way. It feels like a real journey throughout the channel's three prior seasons, a celebration of every big moment - Smooth from Season 2, Mr. Rental from Season 1, Sean Kingston from Season 3, long-running staples like PSY, Space Jam and Grand Dad, and even referencing specific takeovers like "Whip and nae nae day" from Season 2.

Its a big, comfy blanket of a rip that continues to remind me of just everything I love about the channel - I would write more, but I don't think I'd be able to stop myself if I were to go through it piece by piece. All I'll say is that New Guy's story is one of the most fun pieces of SiIva history I know of, and the rip itself is such a perfect encapsulation of all the emotions felt at the start of Season 4.
