No because being an og jainadyke truther during the final couple episodes of c1 was so harrowing. Jaina and Hardwon had that one scene where they wrestled and if I were a lesser (cishet) fan I would have thought there was sexual tension. Luckily i know better though!
People were posting on the subreddit like "does anyone else ship hardwon and jaina? 🤪" and I was like do NOT speak that into existence. You are all boring weirdos and I CAN'T let you ruin this for me
This is jokingly parasocial speculation but i do (unseriously) believe murph posted episode 91, saw the fan response implying they had chemistry, and immediately had like. A full come to jesus moment realizing it could be interpreted that way. Which is why we got the ep. 99 Jaina & Hardwon scene in the Specific Way We Did lmaooo
Its very pointedly made clear that the idea of them together is laughable but also like. The fact that Brian "Show Don't Tell" Murphy went out of his way to hastily construct an excuse for this background NPC to have gay sex (you have to admit jainashine is pretty random) is palpably repentant in a way that's kind of hysterical.

nothing sadder than a piece of media making a girl who clearly more than anything else should be a dyke and then going out of their way to make sure the audience knows how interested in men she is. many such cases

Fia and Irina loved each other as girls. Maybe before they could express or understood romantic feelings or could distinguish them from platonic feelings. Then they were separated for years and grew up but the love endured. And they remained steadfast in the fact that they were each other’s person. They love one another with such absolute certainty that nothing in their lives changed that. How beautiful.

In honor of it apparently being Fia's birthday today, I'm gonna share my personal Fiarina ship playlist and pinterest board! I am cringe but free :)
Songs on the playlist are somewhat ordered based on chronology/tone (I'm especially proud of the little mini story told by the first five songs hehe)

Can you even imagine the potential of a good-luck-babe-ified fiarina. Like an AU where 12 y/o Fia still stands up for Irina and helps her escape, but then submits to her father's initial punishment of repentance instead of choosing execution. Fia swears an oath to the Reaper and vows never to practice Trickster magic again.
When she's of age, her father has her married off to some random young man (the son of another clergyman, perhaps). Reverend Boginya retires and passes his position down to his son-and-law. *Not* his daughter, for she is just a woman, learned as she may be.
The old preacher's daughter becomes the new preacher's wife. Fia never leaves that desolate little town.
And she's miserable, of course. Miserable in her marriage, miserable in her duties as a woman of the church. But isn't that what she deserves? It's what the Reaper calls for her, for all of them.
But then it happens. They have a Judgement scheduled today, or at least, Fia's husband does. She doesn't do much besides stand next to him and read some hymns. She watches the beginnings of an execution carried out in perfect order before suddenly... Chaos. A woman appears wreathed in green light and fae magicks and vengeance. She burns the entire proceedings to the ground with every bystander caught in her wake.
Or, *nearly* every bystander.
The person on the scales escapes wordlessly, far too terrified of what just happened. Fia's husband, the preacher, is gone. But for some reason, she herself has been spared. She kneels in disbelief in a sea of ash and smoke.
Some part of her, deep down, recognizes that magic. It's sinful Trickster magic, of course, but there's something more, someone more. And that same part, that shameful, shameful part, feels relieved.

if i had a nickel for every time emily axford played a character who was devoted to another mortal instead of a deity in a way that grants her character divine power i would have three nickels which is one of the reasons why i love her so dearly and would also love to have even more nickels

God's favorite mortal but as a curse. A god that would destroy all of creation save for their favorite (un)lucky human. A god that cradles you during judgement day and says "this world is damned; it does not deserve you in it". So often we talk about ruthless devotion of man unto god but not enough about god unto man. When God killed all of Job's children do you think he felt flattered. Do you think he sat there in equal parts abject fear and relief thinking "wow. It's a good thing God loves me the most".
