Early mornings are chilly in Los Romero, a village high up in the mountains of western Guatemala. As in other predominantly Mam villages – Indigenous Maya people who have lived here since pre-Columbian times – households come quietly to life before dawn. Isabel Romero, a grandmother with long black hair, used to feel somewhat trapped in hers.

“I was afraid of speaking because I was cooped up at home. I didn’t go out,” she says, explaining that like many Mam women, her days were dedicated to the hard work of running a household with little money, and she rarely spoke with other women. “I worried a lot and had headaches.”

Residents of Los Romero live mainly from subsistence farming, growing maize, beans and squash, or grazing livestock. Almost 50% of the population is Indigenous in Guatemala, Central America’s biggest economy, but they do not share in its prosperity. Indigenous women in particular are discriminated against and dispossessed, with a life expectancy 13 years lower, and a maternal mortality rate two times higher, than the national average, according to the World Bank.

In Romero’s village and throughout the region, a community-based collective of women’s circles has been quietly improving Indigenous women’s lives, empowering them to find voices that have been suppressed through centuries of marginalisation.

It was a long process, but Romero’s headaches and fear are now a thing of the past. These days she gets out to workshops, meetings and women’s circles. She shares her knowledge of weaving traditional textiles on a backstrap loom and has a leadership role in the women’s group she co- founded: Buena Semilla (Good Seed).

The initiative emerged from Maya Mam women’s experiences, when French physician Anne Marie Chomat brought them together for interviews for her doctoral fieldwork in 2010- 2012. The simple act of gathering with others and sharing their experiences had a profound impact on the women, many of whom are still dealing with the traumatic legacy of Guatemala’s civil war.

During the 1960-1996 armed conflict between leftist guerrilla groups and the military, more than 200,000 people were killed, overwhelmingly Indigenous Maya civilians killed by the army. Another 45,000 were ‘disappeared’. A truth commission concluded that the state committed acts of genocide...

“There’s so much chronic stress and other issues that are not being addressed,” says Chomat, Buena Semilla’s international coordinator, who now lives in Canada. “So much healing happened in that space of women connecting with other women, getting out of their houses, realising: ‘I’m not alone’.”

Once Chomat’s fieldwork was finalised, several participants decided they wanted to continue meeting and with Chomat came up with the idea of women’s circles. With the help of a grant, the project got going in 2013 and now more than 300 women in two municipalities participate every week or two in circles, each comprising roughly 10 to 25 women.

Wearing traditional embroidered huipil blouses and hand-loomed skirts, the women gather, arriving on foot via the dirt roads that weave through the villages. They meet in a home or community building, or outside when they can for the connection with nature. The circle opens with a welcome and a prayer and then the group engages in breathing and movement exercises. Next up is discussion of the nahual, the day’s name and energy according to one of the interlocking ancient Mayan calendars, traditionally used for ceremonial practices. “Here in Santiago Atitlán it is only maybe 20% of people who speak about [knowledge of nahuals], so we are reviving it,” says Quiejú.

Then it’s time for the sharing circle. “More than anything, it is speaking what they have in their hearts,” says Quiejú. But every time and each circle is different, even though the leaders all work from the same guide, she says.

Sometimes circles will have a guided meditation. Sometimes they’ll have a workshop to learn weaving, or another skill that can help them earn money. Sometimes they eat together. Sometimes they cry. Often they laugh. No matter what, they generally end with a group embrace...

Only 1% of Guatemala’s national health budget is designated for mental health, and nearly all of that goes to the country’s one psychiatric hospital. Most mental health professionals are concentrated in the capital, offering psychotherapy and prescribing medications. For those in rural areas, there is little discussion of mental health or access to services.

“There is nothing for the preventative side, to work with families, to work with communities,” says Garavito. However, he emphasised that the concept of buen vivir (good living) among many Indigenous peoples in Latin America, which includes the traditional festivities, ceremonies and community of everyday village life, inherently incorporates good mental health. “Mental health is a fundamentally social concept and that has been a historical and common practice among Indigenous peoples, without them calling it that.”

...Financial constraints also pose challenges. Since 2020, Buena Semilla’s budget has been funded through crowdfunding and small grants. Staff and leaders all work part-time and many volunteer unpaid, but most circles now meet bi-weekly due to a squeeze on funds...

Despite the challenges, interest keeps growing. Elsa Cortez joined a circle earlier this year, motivated by her sister’s positive experience with Buena Semilla. In her mid-20s, she lives with her parents and as well as helping to run the household, she weaves belts, drawing from a basket full of spools of brightly coloured thread. She did not go out much before.

“There was a mentality that women were only supposed to be in the home or should only do certain things. That’s how we were raised,” she says. “My family was like that too.”

Thanks to Buena Semilla, those dynamics have started to shift in some families, including her own, says Cortez. Now she is exploring the idea of starting a circle specifically for girls, to help build their self-worth and self-esteem.

“It used to be difficult for me to socialise or chat, but now I am starting to socialise more easily,” says Cortez. “In the group I feel like it is psychological therapy every time we meet.”

2013, SEPTEMBER.

THE first time you saw Quinn Hughes you were eleven years old.

Your family had just bought the house next to his, a beautiful four bedroom house with lots of space and a beautiful backyard— the perfect house for a family of four.

It was a week after you all settled in, your Dad as a Sports Medicine Physician working for a Hockey Canadian team, the Toronto Maple Leafs— the whole reason why you moved in the first place— your Mom as a Editor-in-Chief for the Fashion magazine, one of Canada's leading fashion publications, featuring content related to fashion, beauty, culture, and modeling and your brother, Peter, in High School as a freshman.

You were sitting on your porch, while you waited for Peter to be back so you could convince him to play football with you. He always said no, but you didn't give up. A few minutes later, Peter got out of your neighbor’s house, alongside another boy, who was slightly shorter than Peter.

You watched as they both walked towards your house, talking about something you couldn’t hear. You remember being so enamored with the sight of the boy that you couldn’t stop fidgeting your hands.

They stopped right in front of you, and while Peter was ready to ignore you and move on with his day— he’d been doing that more and more since he started High School— the other boy stopped and looked right at you.

“You didn’t tell me you have a sister.” The boy said, looking at your brother for a second before turning back at you.

“Oh, yeah,” Peter shrugged. “That’s Madison. She’s ten.”

“I’m eleven,” you corrected, voice soft and quiet.

“Whatever,” he scoffed, grabbing his keys so he could open the front door.

“Can you play with me now?” You asked, getting up from your seat, finally noticing how tall this other boy was. “I have the ball with me already.” You pointed at the ball that sat on the same couch you were also sitting not a minute ago.

“No, Madison. I’m with Quinn now.” Peter said, pointing at the boy beside him, who was now frowning at your brother.

Quinn. That’s a funny name, you remember thinking.

“We can play with her, I don’t mind—” the boy, Quinn, said, already reaching for the ball.

“Nah, bro. She’s annoying as hell. Once you pick that ball up, you won’t be able to let it go for like, three hours.” Peter replied, already opening the door.

You felt yourself tearing up and even though you hated crying in front of your brother, you couldn’t help it. Growing up, he was your best friend. Your hero even, when your parents decided that arguing during dinner, in front of their children, was a nice thing to do and he would make funny faces at you across the table just so you could laugh. When he pretended to yell at the monster under your bed or when he let you paint his nails with your pink nail polish.

But somewhere between turning fifteen and entering High School, he changed. And you hated every inch of this new Peter Carter.

He entered the house, shouting something, probably announcing to your mom that he was home. And you stood there, looking at your hands.

“Next time, I’ll play with you, okay?” Quinn, who was still standing in front of you, hesitated, looking as devastated as ever.

You felt embarrassed and you got out of there as fast as you could, running back inside and nestling yourself between your covers and plushies.

YOU didn’t think Quinn had meant what he had said the other day, so you were surprised to see that he showed up the next morning, when both of your parents were at work and Peter was asleep in his bedroom upstairs.

“Hey,” he greeted you, stepping on your backyard patio and looking around. “Nice place you got here. We can play for a long time without risking throwing the ball in Mrs. Wright window.”

You giggled, remembering Mrs. Wright's funny wig.

“I’m Quinn Hughes.” He introduced himself after a while.

“I know that,” you whispered, watching as he laughed. “How old are you?”

“I’m thirteen, but I turn fourteen on October 14th,” he said. “You’re eleven, right?”

“Yes. My birthday was in February. I got this ball,” you raised the ball you were holding so he could see it better. It had your name on it. “And I also got new clothes for my plushies.”

“That sounds nice,” he nodded. “I’ll probably get a new stick on my birthday.”

“Why would you need a stick?” You asked, not sure what he could do with a stick. A tree’s stick. At least that’s what you thought a stick was.

Maybe he wants to put it on his fireplace.

“I play Hockey,” he answered and you still didn’t understand. The only thing you knew about Hockey was that it was the reason you and your family moved to Toronto. So it probably wasn’t a good thing. “And I need a new one.”

“Well, if it makes you happy, then I guess it’s fine,” you shrugged, poking your ball. “But that will probably be boring. You should ask for something cooler.”

He laughed again, sitting on the grass beside you. “I’ll think about that. Thank you for your advice.”

You puffed your chest a little, happy to feel useful for once.

That morning, you and Quinn didn’t end up playing; instead, you talked for hours, with you both asking each other questions about literally everything. From what’s your favorite color to what you wanna be when you grow up.

You could feel your heart racing in your chest every time you stared into his blue eyes that sometimes morphed into a light green shade, but you didn’t understand why. Quinn was being nice, he was treating you just like Peter did before you moved to Toronto and it felt so, so nice.

“Will I see you tomorrow?” You asked, right before he left for lunch at his house.

“I think so.” He smiled, quickly patting you on the head. He gave you a short wave before moving back to his home.

And you just stood there, counting the seconds so that maybe tomorrow would come faster, and you’d finally have a friend again.

Mark Edward Green (born November 8, 1964) is an American politician, physician, and retired U.S. Army officer who has served as the U.S. representative for Tennessee's 7th congressional district since 2019. As a member of the Republican Party, Green has chaired the Committee on Homeland Security since 2023. Before his election to Congress, he served in the Tennessee Senate from 2013 to 2018, representing the 22nd district.

Handsome, looks like he works out and was a powerful House Republican who chaired the Committee on Homeland Security. Who won't want to fuck him. I'll that later.

In 1986, Green graduated from the United States Military Academy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in quantitative business management. In 1987 he earned a master's degree in systems management from the University of Southern California. After graduating from West Point, Green was an infantry officer. He then graduated from Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University and became a flight surgeon, serving tours of duty in the War in Afghanistan and Iraq War. After retiring from the military in 2006, Green became the CEO of a hospital emergency department staffing company.

Green and his wife, Camie, have two children. In August 2024, Green filed for a divorce from his wife of nearly 36 years citing irreconcilable differences. His wife said he filed for divorce after having an affair with a younger woman. What? Another politician going though a divorce after being caught cheating. Nooooo. Green's wife also issued a harsh warning to the wives of fellow lawmakers to look out for readily available women “predators” that out for our husbands. Don't forget the men “predators” too.

Dylanns Medical worries Before Prison

In August of 2013, 19 year old Dylann had reported swelling below the right angle of his jaw, which he thought to be a "lymph node." His fear was sparked from when one of his mothers boyfriends with lymph nodes had gotten cancer. 

Previously his physician had noted on July 10 that he did appear to have a swollen Submandibular enlarged node for 1 month and she wanted to keep it monitored. And she observed how much of a great stressor this had become for Dylann, but she saw no other symptoms supporting reason to cause so much panic. And even after being reassured that the node had not gotten bigger or could impair him he was not convinced.

Visiting the doctors again he complained the node had only gotten worse. She ordered him two blood tests a CBC and CMP. As well as offering him an an HIV test which he declined. Despite his concerns he would never go through with any type of treatment. 

Dylann in general does not have much of a record of receiving medication nor worrying medical issues to tend to. But his mother seems to describe him in a hypochondriac manner. She thinks that he has seen many different physicians, and is overly concerned with various things that he finds could be possibly wrong with him.

He claims that he doesn't experience many of the common symptoms such as headaches, difference in eyesight, nausea, vomiting, etc. But one notable mention is his possible "erectile dysfunction." He reported how he had noticed his erections lost its normal firmness and found it harder to reach ejaculation.

fady joudah is a palestinian american physician, poet, and translator. he was born in the united states and grew up in libya and saudi arabia before returning to the united states for college. he attended the university of georgia–athens, the medical college of georgia, and the university of texas, where he completed his studies in internal medicine.

The Next Chapter

Premise: Ethan looks back at the man he was through the lens of his apartment.

A/N: I had this fic idea for a while and finally got the right inspo to write. It's not quite fluff and not quite angst. Just reflective.

I. 2013

Ethan Ramsey scrawled his signature at the bottom of a stack of forms, the pen's nib leaving a dot of ink in its wake.

Who knew becoming a homeowner involved so much paperwork?

He smiled absently at the realtor’s chirpy chatter but didn’t engage in conversation. His mind was on a case waiting for him at Edenbrook. The patient’s syncope didn’t have an apparent cause yet, and he mentally listed the diagnostic tests he needed to order.

“All done.” The realtor handed him an envelope with his copy of the deed, other forms, and a set of keys. “Congratulations, Dr. Ramsey!”

The keys gleamed brightly under the fluorescent lights for a second, a beacon beckoning him to his future. And then they were just keys, one to his brand new high-rise apartment in a newly renovated historical building.

The check he’d cut for the down payment had taken a good chunk of his savings. But, now that he was an attending physician and making good money, he could afford it.

The apartment wasn’t just a place to him. It represented who he wanted to become—a cultured and sophisticated doctor who enjoyed opera, owned several custom suits and dated beautiful women. All while solving medicine’s biggest mysteries and being written up in medical journals.

Dr. Ethan Ramsey was on his way to achieving everything he’d set out to do in life.

He didn’t have time—he knew he didn’t—but he couldn’t resist. Instead of heading back to the hospital, he turned his car toward Downtown, noting the changing vistas outside the windshield and the blend of commercial and residential buildings as they neared the waterfront.

He liked the busyness and pockets of quiet, the coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance, and parks and squares tucked away between buildings.

When he’d started his home search, he’d figured to find a place close to work, the West End or Back Bay. Nothing there had appealed to him, and he found himself losing patience. Out of desperation or perhaps fear of losing the commission, his realtor asked him to take a chance on a new listing near Faneuil Hall.

So, he went for the viewing, and, thirty days later, he signed on the dotted line. And another thirty minutes after that, he placed the key in the front door lock and entered his new home.

Ethan walked into the living room, his eyes drawn to the view outside. From here, he could see the boats bobbing gently on the harbor and the distant outline of the city’s skyline. He could already imagine mornings with a cup of coffee in hand, watching the sunrise, or evenings unwinding with a glass of wine, the glow of the city lights reflecting off the water.

He moved through the open-plan living area to the kitchen, where state-of-the-art appliances gleamed beneath soft lighting. It was a space designed for serious cooking, and the idea of preparing a real meal here, maybe even for someone else, crossed his mind—an unfamiliar thought that he quickly brushed aside.

Finally, he found himself standing in the bedroom and the wall of windows that offered a stunning view of the city. He could already envision a large, inviting bed, crisp bedding with muted colors, calming. Here, he could let go of the day’s stresses and recharge for the battles that lay ahead.

As he stood there, Ethan realized how much he had needed this—more than just a place to sleep, but a sanctuary. A space that was his, where he could shed the relentless demands of his profession and simply be. He took a deep breath, feeling a rare sense of contentment settle over him.

In an hour, the chaos of his life would resume. There would be rounds to make, patients to treat and mountains to climb. But right now, in this quiet stolen moment, he savored the promise of what this new home could mean for him.

And as he turned away from the window, Ethan couldn’t help but sigh wistfully. Maybe, somebody, he’d shared this amazing view with a woman he loved enough to let her into his life.

His inner cynic scoffed. Sure. And maybe someday he’d become Chief of Medicine.

Ruefully shaking his head at the absurdity of his thoughts, Ethan locked the door behind him and went back to work.

II. 2018

Ethan poured himself a glass of red wine and sighed heavily, shoulders hunched in defeat. He didn’t know how long he could keep going like this. He hadn’t slept more than three or four hours a night for the last few weeks and long hours had finally caught up to him.

Despite his best efforts, he wasn’t close to figuring out what was wrong with Naveen. If he didn’t diagnose the mystery illness soon, he’d lose him just like he lost Dolores.

He was forever destined to lose the people he loved.

When the knock came, even though he’d been expecting her, it startled him from his depressing thoughts. Setting the nearly empty wine glass on the counter, he walked to the front door to let Cassie Valentine in.

The headache he’d been fighting all day suddenly reared again. Rubbing his eyes wearily, Ethan motioned her inside.

“Rookie. Come on in.”

“Wow. Nice digs,” Cassie walked past him into the living room.

The surprised tone was the same as when she had commented on his car. He wondered what was it about him that made her doubt his financial worth.

He shrugged as she gawked at the quiet luxury of his furnishings and the stunning views outside. There was a time when this space had calmed him after a long shift. It had been a source of pride when he hosted a dinner party once with Naveen’s learned friends.

Now, he couldn’t remember the last time he’d stood where she stood and just took it all in.

He did so now, but if anything, it made him more sad. The plush furniture, the art that once spoke to him, the view that had sealed the deal when he bought the place—it all felt distant like it belonged to someone else.

When had his home stopped being a refuge?

“I’m barely ever here,” he said, feeling sadness creep up like an unwelcome virus. “Wine?”

“Yes, please.”

Ethan padded into the kitchen and poured wine into the empty glass, his mind again turning to the dark thoughts he couldn’t shake. He clenched his jaw at the feeling of powerlessness, the fear that no matter how hard he tried, he would always fall short and lose the people he cared about most.

“That’s… probably enough!”

“Huh?” Her exclamation broke through his distraction, and he glanced at the over-filled wine glass. “Oh, sorry.”

He passed the glass over and topped up his own, holding it up with a heavy sigh.

“To the unknown,” he said by way of a toast.

Cassie clinked her glass against his. “To the unknown.”

Ethan watched her as she wandered over to the windows, and an indescribable feeling spread through his chest. For the first time in a while, his apartment didn’t feel quite so empty, and he didn’t feel entirely so alone in his quest.

As he watched Cassie, silhouetted against the city lights, he wondered if maybe, just maybe, he could find a way to hold on—to Naveen, to himself and to the life that was slipping through his fingers.

But for now, all he could do was take it one breath at a time, one step at a time, and hope that somewhere along the way, he’d find the strength to keep going.

III. 2022

Weak sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, and dust motes swirled in the air. Ethan stood in the center of the now-empty living room, hands shoved into the pockets of his jeans. The silence surrounding him wasn’t sad but poignant, marking the end of an era.

Once adorned with carefully chosen artwork, the walls were bare, the furniture that had filled the room now gone, leaving behind a hollow shell of what had once been his sanctuary. Moving boxes were stacked against the wall, waiting for the movers to transport them to their new home.

Cassie was in the bedroom, finishing up with the last of the boxes, but Ethan couldn’t bring himself to join her just yet. Instead, he lingered, taking in the space that had been his home for so many years, a place that had seen him at his lowest and, eventually, at his happiest.

He glanced over at the large windows, where the view of the city and the harbor stretched out before him, just as stunning as it had been the day he first walked in. But it wasn’t the view that held his attention now—it was the memories this place had held.

This was the apartment where he had spent countless sleepless nights, drowning in work, in doubt, in loneliness. It was where he had fought to keep himself together, to push through the pain of losing loved ones, to find answers for patients.

For so long, it had been a place of solitude, where the silence weighed heavily on his shoulders, where he had hidden from the world and from his own fears.

But it was also the place where everything had changed.

He smiled to himself, a small, bittersweet smile, as he remembered the first time Cassie had visited his place to discuss Naveen.

This was where they had shared their first real conversation, where she had seen him at his most vulnerable and hadn’t turned away. It was here that she had shown him that he didn’t have to carry his burdens alone.

And he recalled vividly the night she barged in before her ethics hearing and accused him of being indifferent to her. That night, he’d finally let go of his inhibitions and made love to her without regrets.

This was the apartment where their relationship had blossomed, love gradually replacing the emptiness. It was where he said, “I love you,” the first time to a woman. He had been confident but also afraid of how everything would change with three simple words.

He remembered the night he proposed to her in this living room. She was teaching him to decompress over Chinese takeout and a slapstick comedy on TV. She had been laughing as he cursed at the antics on the screen, and he blurted out, “Marry me,” never more sure of anything in his life.

She said yes, but for a second he’d worried she wouldn’t, and the future he could clearly envision would be a figment of his imagination.

This place had been so much more than just a home; it had been a chapter in his life, one that had shaped him into the man he was now.

The Conjuring (2013)

I’ll give Ed and Lorraine Warren this much: they may be manipulative hucksters and frauds, but they’re also terrible exorcists. The film spends a lot of time amping up the pair’s street cred as top-of-the-line demonologists and paranormal investigators (pro tip: if you point out that the obvious creaking floorboard is a creaking floorboard once, you get to make up whatever bullshit you desire all the rest of the time), even going so far as to tout how Ed is basically the exorcist version of a physician assistant (aside from the fact that PAs can actually be useful). He can accompany the ritual, but he just can’t perform surgery himself. And more procedures are being handed to him by an absentee Church, it would seem. But when push comes to shove and he has to expel the witch Bathsheba from the body of some random Rhode Island mother, it takes him all of 0.025 seconds to drop his holy water. But who gives a shit about the real Warrens in this puffed-up propaganda piece and heightened, fictionalized version of maybe some case of theirs. The rule of taking one thing away is one that could dearly be learned by this film, though the franchise does nothing if not lead in the complete opposite direction. There are some solid scares, or at least a promising inclination of what could be truly chilling. The arms reaching out of the closet in the background to clap and direct Mom during a game of hide and seek—we knew where the clapping bit would lead, but fine. It works. It’s paid off again later when she’s in the basement lighting matches. But all too often, these beats go for a hat on a hat approach, slathering on noise stings and ridiculous camerawork that frankly undermines any tension they had going. Does every horror movie need to be a Robert Eggers joint with stately locked down camera and heady atmosphere? Certainly not. But I for one am glad to be past the 2010s heyday of shaky cameras and snap zooms onto spooky scary faces.

There’s something of a Fast & Furious effect going on here. While they’re not quite at the tier of sending cars into space and rocketing vehicles over dams while Jason Momoa paints the toenails of corpses and various bald men benchpress missiles, it is still amusing that a run-of-the-mill haunted house exorcism movie has spawned everything up to and including a creepy pan-European nun with glowing eyes and made software superheroes of our dastardly duo when they do show up.

Question: Didn’t people think it was weird for Tristan De Bois to publicly blame Uther for his sisters death?

After all, fatalities in childbirth were high back in the Middle Ages and medicine wasn’t nearly as good as it is in modern times?

My answer: You’re forgetting that magic was tolerated at that point and Nimueh was publicly at court as their guest before her banishment.

Obviously, no one (except Gaius) knew of the deal that was struck between Uther and Nimueh. The deal that involved a life-for-a-life as part of the bargain.

However, the members of the court likely knew that a High Priestess had been invited to court during Ygraine’s pregnancy, then the queen died in childbirth (probably something that was rare with powerful healing magic) and then their king banished the sorceress from court on pain of death.

Therefore, Tristan blaming the king for his sisters death could have been taken a number of ways; including insurmountable grief or even for bringing the unknown sorceress into court to begin with.

Especially, since magic was tolerated back then and yet most people were still wary of it.

On that note, Agravaine despised not only Uther for his sisters death, but also his nephew and tried to kill him for his sister dying in childbirth.

So maybe that level of insanity and revenge, just runs in the family.

Question: Ygraine was said to have been pretty friendly with magic users.

It's possible magic (or being a seer) ran in her family?

My answer: Morgause implied that she knew Ygraine well and that she was an honorable woman, so it’s possible her family possessed at least some form of magic.

We know Agravaine didn't possess magic, but it’s possible Tristan did… at least a small amount of magic. 🪄

The reason I believe this could be a possibility is because The Knights of Medhir are also Wraiths and they have no power. Yet, their magical rating is three stars (⭐️⭐️ ⭐️). Likely because of the powerful magic used to resurrect a Wraith and make it borderline invincible.

Meanwhile, The Black Knight is a Wraith and his magical rating is five stars (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️).

Given the two star difference between both sets of Wraiths. It’s possible that Tristan De Bois might have started with a two star 💫 magical rating.

[If Tristan didn’t have magic, then it’s possible the two star difference between him and the Knights of Medhir, was simply due to him being summoned by Nimueh and the other seven wraiths being summoned by the less-powerful Morgause.] 🫡

My answer: Its possible, but it sounds more like Tristan was vengeful over his sisters death and simply used his dying breath to spew empty threats at her husband?

If he was a seer, he would have to be an extremely powerful one in order to see over 20 years in the future.

Therefore, it seems less like a prophecy and more like Nimueh took advantage of the distraught brothers grief and simmering anger to fill her own purposes, twenty years after his death.

Question: In the legends, Sir Pellinor was Percival's father, who hunted the Questing Beast and was ultimately killed by Gwaine.

Now he’s going to fight the Black Knight?

My answer: In the ‘Merlin Annual 2013 book’, Percival is confirmed to NOT be of noble birth.

This was something the majority of the fandom assumed, given how he ended up knighted, but up until now had not been confirmed outright.

When Sir Pellinor was killed in battle by the Black Knight, it was said that, “Camelot was robbed of two of its bravest defenders.”

(The other brave defender being fellow knight… Sir Owain).

Question: "Came to the gates of Camelot and challenged him" is interesting, because it means Tristan was not in Camelot?

Also, how would Tristan know about Uther's involvement in Ygraine's death?

My answer: I don’t necessary think that sentence implies Tristan didn’t live in Camelot.

Camelot is not just the Citidal (aka castle) and the City itself (which is the area we see most often in the show with the marketplace, houses of the townspeople, Rising Sun tavern, ect…)

Camelot kingdom also consists of large expanses of landscape. Including lands owned by various nobles, farms, various towns/villages, mountain ranges, lakes, entire forests, castles, a beach and the Labyrinth of Gedref.

As the eldest son, Tristan probably lived at his family’s estate (as I assume Agravaine also did up until the fifth season) and that estate would more than likely be somewhere out in the country as was common for the majority of noble families.

So Tristan wasn’t necessarily coming to Camelot from a different kingdom. More likely he was coming from his noble family estate to the City of Camelot.

I don’t think Tristan knew of Uther’s involvement in Ygraine’s death and his sister couldn’t tell him, because even she didn’t know the full details of the deal her husband made.

Ygraine: Your father betrayed me. He went to the sorceress Nimueh and asked for her help in conceiving a child... You were born of magic.

I'm sorry, Arthur. Your father has deceived you as he deceived me. To create a life, a life must be taken. Your father knew that.

Morgause used her magic to bring Arthur's mother, Ygraine, back from the dead.

On this day, June 25, 2009, Michael Joseph Jackson went into cardiac arrest in his home in Beverly Hills, Los Angelas. 911 was called after several attempts of cpr was performed. The pop singer was rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately died at 2:26pm PST time. The news of his death shocked the world, as a result, making the dial tone internet crash. A few days after his death, fans started to speculate that Jackson’s physician, Conrad Murray, had something to do with Jackson’s death. After several trials, Murray was finally convicted in 2011, but he only served two years, being released in October, 2013. Murray had his physician license revoked, and is now in Trinidad trying to get it back.

Some years after Jackson’s death, some even started to speculate that his death was a suicide attempt, after the accusation of child molestation has gotten worse, fans started to think he wanted the easy way out. Can’t say I blame him, if I was investigated by the cops for more than ten years, I’d lose my mind.

My deepest condolences to his family, they lost a son, a brother, a boy who just wanted to get some root of his childhood back as an adult. He’s one of the most caring people I’ve ever came across, it was so wrong what this world did to him. People he thought he could call “friends” betrayed him. I feel so bad for him. Whether it was an intentional death or not, I’m glad his soul is at rest now. Let’s not cry because he died, but instead smile because he was born.
