Will had a lot of half-siblings. That came with the territory of being a demigod, and the Apollo cabin in particular was just about full.

But you were the one he gravitated towards the most. You weren't head counselor, no, that was Lee Fletcher.

But you were the one who showed Will around camp, taking him under your wing and showing him the ropes.

You were camp's best healer, and you showed him around the infirmary, teaching him everything you knew.

He always sat next to you at the campfire.

None of this bothered you, you thought your younger brother was adorable and you were happy to provide him comfort and support.

You tried to teach him archery, and he wasn't bad, but he preferred to stay back in the infirmary and heal rather than fight.

You couldn't blame him, you had preferred the same at his age.

Watching him grow up, you felt responsible for him.

Whenever he got hurt, you were right there to patch him up.

You're the first person he comes out to when he's older, and you support him 100%.

Don't get it twisted, though, as much as he adores you, he can be a bitch.

If you think Percy is sassy, oh boy. You're in for it with Will Solace. Persassy's got nothing on him.

He's always got some sort of comeback, and it's infuriating. He wins every single argument

Assorted jercy head canons from yours truly

both have zero self worth, they reassure each other and built each other up over time

both have a hard time expressing emotions. especially: Percy worries over things he thinks will make him look stupid (or, more recent fear, scary), and Jason anything that would make him look weak

Percy has bad internalized homophobia, no matter how accepting his mom is, Gabe's insults left a mark on his brain, he just feels gross and wrong and doesn't know what to do (yes, it gets better, but it's rough)

Percy thinks Jason’s glasses are very cute, he steals them sometimes and Jason thinks he’s fucking adorable, unfortunately, to see this, he has to get pretty close. like kissing distance close

Jason is 6’4. Percy is 6’3. There is fucking relentless short jokes.

Percy, despite being only ~10 months older, is also teased about being old. He tells Jason to respect his elders.

Jason has abandonment issues. And autism, among other things

These two are so fucking cuddly. Like, it took a while before they were both on the same page, but now they're both so constantly in each other's space. always touching, always just near each other

Jason is a nice guy, he grew up trying to be Approachable and Nice, he tends to give out compliments bc people seem to like that (see above: autism), so naturally he compliments Percy and Percy 404's. he does not what to do, no idea how to take compliments (from his mom is normal but anyone else? weird). Jason does it even more just to see him blush (guaranteed result)

Cuddle and listen to audiobooks/podcasts together

Whoever introduced them to audiobooks/podcasts either thinks it's adorable or regrets everything, maybe both

Jason lighting round: cannot cook, can draw, bites his nails, king of lil kisses, car trauma, loves to play with Percy's hair, is scared of thunderstorms, the really loud ones that shake everything, likes to wear beanies (good sensory on his short hair)

Percy lightning round: best cook, loves gardening, grows some of his own food/veggies/spices, has so many fun piercings (pls hc your own favorite ones for him, I can never pick), has a weird relationship with food post-tartarus, also really sensitive to light post-tartarus, has long hair, dissociation problems and rsd, steals Jason's clothes (they're grounding)

Jesslake Demigod/PJO AU

hi so. finally making a real post about this.

i apparently made this au like 2 years ago but the pjo brainrot came back and i've been hyperfixating on this au again. while it does also feature my OCs this post is about the jesslake au

for clarity, this au takes place in the world of the Percy Jackson books, and assumes the canon story of the books is finished. it takes place in about 2020 (pjo canon is currently around 2011 ish). You don't need to have read the books to understand the au (I haven't) but. some knowledge of the universe will definitely help

most of my notes about the au are in the images, but here's a rough timeline of the major events: (it's long)

Jesse is born in 2005. he is raised by his mom and his mortal/adoptive father, whom he knows isn't his bio dad but treats him like it anyways. he doesn't know he's a demigod or who his bio dad is

Lake and Tulip are born in 2006. they both struggle as babies, but Lake much more so; they nearly die. Hephaestus, their father, dips Lake in the River Styx, giving them the Curse of Achilles, though theirs works a little different (more details on that later/in another post)

Hephaestus sends Lake to Camp Half-Blood to be raised there. (Chiron serves as a father figure to Lake, and they actually get along pretty well.) Tulip never finds out she has a twin until she arrives at camp.

Lake lives at CHB their whole life growing up. Sometime around the age of 8-10ish, they encounter the flecs for the first time. In this au, they were people but were cursed to become monsters, and still hunt Lake relentlessly. Lake has a pretty gnarly scar from their first encounter.

When she's 13, Tulip finds out she's a halfblood and is brought to camp (have not figured out how/by who yet, open to ideas). One-one is an automaton her dad built for her, not sure about Atticus.

When they're 13, Lake decides they want to see the world. They leave camp mostly on a whim, but take enough time to pack a bag and leave a note for Chiron asking him not to try and find them. Chiron somehow (through the Oracle, and Apollo kid, idk) divines that Lake will bring another half-blood to camp safely, and he trusts Lake, so he doesn't try to find them.

Lake wanders on foot for about a month, heading southwest. Eventually, they end up in Arizona, where they meet and slowly become friends with Jesse. Jesse's parents are glad he's spending time with someone who's not his other friends, and they let Lake hang out at their house a lot. They (of course) know Jesse's a demigod, and start to suspect Lake might be too. (Lake also starts suspecting about Jesse)

The "man test" (or something very similar) happens after Jesse meets Lake, and Lake is there to witness it. However, Jesse's friends turn out to be monsters (were they monsters the whole time or did other monsters impersonate his friends? i don't know. lol) and Jesse and Lake have to go rescue Nate (from the underworld? from a monster's lair? somewhere else? again, i don't know)

After that quest, Jesse properly arrives at camp, and him and Lake become very close.

There's a small arc with Lake that I'm not sure where it fits, but here's works: the harrasment and attacks from the flecs are getting worse, and somehow during an attack Lake manages to kill them (Lake never wanted to kill them before because they used to be people, and somehow they know they won't come back like other monsters, so killing them is genuinely killing them). Lake still has to grapple with the fact that they were people and they killed them, but also that it was in self defense.

There's another more significant arc for Lake involving Hephaestus. Probably happens 2 ish years after they meet Jesse. Hephaestus... doesn't like Lake. It seems like he always wants Lake to prove themself to him, but Lake refuses. So instead, he forces them, by setting a trap. Lake nearly dies in his trap (a web of hot metal wires that tie them up like they're in a spider web, covering them in deep burns; it makes sense given Hephaestus' other myths I promise), thankfully, Lake is rescued by Tulip and Jesse. However, the whole thing is definitely traumatizing, and really solidifies in Lake that their dad is a fucking asshole. (me and @jesse-cosay wrote a fic of this, we're most likely going to post it soon!) (also, that scars from this are in the drawing, but they don't look as Bad as I want them too, I was struggling with making them look Bad enough)

Lake and Jesse have become friends with my OCs (Rain, child of Hypnos, and Kona, daughter of. Apollo. sort of. not quite. it's complicated. also Kona is Jesse's cousin!) over the past 2 years or so, and when one of them (Rain) ends up in the Underworld, they both go with the other (Kona) to help rescue them (I can definitely elaborate on that if people are interested, but it's very self indulgent lol)

okay, here's some random little things about this au:

Annabeth no longer has the most beads, Lake does. They have 13. Chiron made sure he collected the beads for them since they were brought to camp.

The other main characters are at camp too (mostly). Grace is the daughter of Aphrodite, Simon is the son of Ares, both have them have lived at camp since they were kids. Simon takes after Luke, thinking the gods should be taken down entirely.

Min is an Athena kid and Ryan is an Apollo kid

Alan Dracula is still basically the same. Chiron doesn't know how he can get into camp. Or if he's a monster. He just knows the deer helps protect campers, and that Lake loves him, so he leaves Alan be.

Lake used to have their own room (a repurposed guest room) in the Big House but now stays with Jesse in Cabin 3 (during the summer, the rest of the year they live with him in Arizona)

When Tulip arrived at camp people assumed she was a Demeter kid because of her name, quickly realized she definitely is not a Demeter kid

Lake has kicked Simon's ass in combat numerous times. It's very rare that Simon ever wins against them period. Simon hates Lake with a burning passion. He HATES that the tiny hephaestus kid can beat him up.

Jesse really doesn't like when people call Poseidon his dad, even if he knows it's true, because to him, his dad is Stephen Cosay, a mortal, who helped raise him and whom he loves.

In a simpatico brainrot rn but what if sparkeater eggs were bigger than cybertronians eggs?

Sparkeaters are naturally large predators and their bodies have adapted to be efficient with egg laying to use the least amount of energy as possible. Percy being one has absolutely no problem passing that big egg through his ovipositor.

Brainstorm on the other hand feels like he’s getting split apart every time they transfer eggs. An absolute sobbing mess as his gestation chamber is pushed to its limits. Poor guy has an even tougher time pushing them out with his too small ovipositor. It just drags on where it’s overload after overload for hours. Afterwards his sore throbbing valve is being soothed by Percy’s tougue

When the time comes, Brainstorm ends up being the one to lay the eggs. Percy’s instincts are on overdrive, demanding him to protect his mate and his brood at all costs, making him quite snappy towards the medics. While Brainstorm is whimpering and moaning in their nest trying to push the stubborn eggs out.

ah, looks like Brainstorm bit off more than he can chew... The moment Percy's eggs push into his valve for the first time, he immediately knows something's off, that they must be larger than average, and his suspicions are later confirmed to be true in the med-bay... they're still fresh so they're small, but they're going to grow, and he's been strongly advised to let Perceptor know he won't carry for him before they get too big for him... but Brainstorm isn't afraid of a challenge, and if this is how he can pioneer his recently started research on sparkeater biology, then so be it...

The eggs grow so quickly inside of Brainstorm, and Percy is very insistent on transferring them regularly... mhmmm Brainstorm clawing at the floor, his small, tight ovipositor pulsing inside of Perceptor's monster valve, whimpering everytime Percy clenches down around him. They hurt even more going out than they do going in- Percy's ovipositor is big and fat and perfectly sized for the eggs, so it doesn't even take as much time, but this way Percy is pushy, constantly grinding his valve down against Brainstorm's, their anterior nodes rubbing together. By the time he's laid the last egg, Brainstorm is lying on the floor all flushed and limp, only whining when Percy dislodges, and for a moment he's completely still, not wanting to irritate his worn ovipositor anymore, when suddenly Perceptor starts gently licking his own fluids off of Brainstorm's valve...

Oooh, Brainstorm being the one to lay the eggs when they're ready... Percy's tentacles snapping at anyone who dares come close, not caring whether it's a doctor or not, he keeps Brainstorm close, licking the tears off of his face, rubbing his contracting belly... poor Brainstorm, his ovipositor is on fire, the eggs so big they're barely able to pass through, stretching it to the point of breaking, the agony mixing with the intense bliss of the eggs pressing into every single node in the cable walls of his valve... when he struggles with a couple of particularly large eggs, ovipositor bulging, and Percy helps him by squeezing it until the egg is basically forced out by the pressure... Brainstorm probably can't walk for a while after the monster eggs have been laid <3

There is an inherent horror to motherhood. Someone is a part of you, they are in your body, and then they are ripped away. When your kids are small, they tell you everything. Slowly, they start lying to you. This child you used to know inside out becomes an adult who's opaque to you. Watching them grow up is a long, slow process of losing access to the person you love the most. Charlie leaves the country. Percy doesn't believe her when she warns him of danger. Bill gets a girlfriend she doesn't trust, the twins drop out of school, Ron signs up at eleven to put himself in danger again (and Harry, another son to her, will never be safe whatever he does). Ginny gets possessed and doesn't, can't, ask for help. The subplot of HP is Molly losing all her kids; some in small, ordinary ways, some in the worst way possible. This is not me saying that anything those kids did was wrong, but it's brutal.

Mothers aren't people to children. Mothers are mothers, a separate category. That's how it should be, but it's also depersonalising - you have to be as unshakeable as bedrock, you can't share your old wounds. Your children want to fight in a war, and you can't rip your chest open and show them how you're still bleeding over two dead brothers, because you're their mother.

She raised five children during a war, pregnant with a sixth. She also fought in that war. Can you imagine the absolute fear of that?

Bill is twenty-one in the first book, which means that if we go by Movie!Molly's appearance, she started having kids when she was an absolute baby. Arthur in his twenties has little money, few prospects and odd ideas. She was probably younger than I, childless, am now, with at least two kids before she reached my age. If I had had a baby in my early twenties, that baby would not be doing well. She would have gone from child to mother with almost no gap in between, and then there was a war.

We all know the Larkin line about how "they fuck you up, your mum and dad." This is true of every family, even the loving ones like mine - raising children is hard, there's no right answer to every child, you're going to mold all of them and that includes some mistakes. I think the answer to the Larkin line for a lot of people (obviously not everyone) is "and we love them anyway." We grow up, we become adults, we realise we're still flying blind and then we imagine how absolutely shit-scared we'd be if we tried to do this with a baby. That's what I wanted to capture with that Ginny and Molly conversation - that destabilising point of adulthood where you suddenly see your mother as a person again.

Also sorry I included so little Bill in this story but I have no clear idea of him as a person. Also sorry for six paragraphs of Molly brainrot! In the words of Marge Simpson, I just think she's neat.

what book are you currently reading?

I'm finally getting around to reading through all the riordanverse books (after dropping them when I was like, 10 & read on wikipedia that percy and annabeth kissed and I (unknowing baby lesbian) was like ew. romance. not reading that. which is hysterically funny to me now) & rn I am a couple chapters into the lost hero

also I'm technically still in the middle of an iliad reread (if you're seeing a greek myth theme then no you're not <3). and also teeechnically in the middle of war and peace but it's been ages since I read any.

this was sooo much fun to write oh my god. it was mostly based around the title, bc as soon as I heard that song I was like. that's a jamie song. no I don't care it's from a video game and about a totally different character, it's about jamie's relationship with his father.

and I'm just so nuts about jamie's relationship with his family and his father in particular, the way it bounces off his queerness and relationship with his gender, etc etc etc. it's a very hyperspecific and niche fic but that's what gives me the most joy so <3

what is something that you’d like to create content for?

hmm idk!! nothing new, really. I'm very much wedded to two-era dr who in terms of writing. I'd like to make more holding achilles gifsets I think

My blorbo of all time probably. No character has given me brainrot and writing inspiration the way he does and likely no character ever will. This post sums up his appeal perfectly

2) Lan Wangji from Mo Dao Zu Shi

My newest blorbo from my most recently joined fandom. What can I say, I’m a sucker for incredibly queer competent stoic prob neurodivergent men that are absolutely insane about one person. When I watch the MDZS donghua, I literally have to pause every time he comes on the screen just so I can stare at him a bit, so you could say I’m a bit obsessed

3) Kim Theerapanyakul from KinnPorsche

He’s this weird little guy that is simultaneously the most competent character in the show and the biggest cringe-fail loser. He looks so suave and cool on the surface with his whole Taylor Swift by day mafia prince detective by night thing but then you realize he’s actually a complete nerd with a whole ass literal murder conspiracy board hidden behind a giant selfie portrait of himself and I love him so much (also he’s played by Jeff Satur, who makes my aesthetic attraction senses go haywire, but that’s neither here nor there)

4) Kyuzo from Samurai 7

My 1st fictional crush and prob my earliest blorbo. My type in favorite fictional male character (hypercompetent stoic character that doesn’t talk much with bonus points for iconic hair) can 100% be attributed to him. His story was the earliest villain redemption arc I can remember encountering in media (this was the 1st anime I ever watched so I was like 4 or 5 when I 1st saw this guy) and so for me I always think of him when I see people talking about iconic redemption arcs (sorry Zuko)

5) Midorima Shintarou from Kuroko no Basket

At the peak of my high school sports anime phase, this guy was my favorite. He’s tall, he’s green, he’s an anime glasses character™️, he’s tsundere, he’s prissy, he’s weird af, he’s got one of the most bonkers basketball skills ever, and he’s even an astrology girlie. What’s not to love

6) Merlin from BBC Merlin

BBC Merlin is the fandom that sucked me in at a time where I thought I was growing out of fandom and fanfic (spoiler alert: I very much was not) and it’s responsible for completely changing my relationship with fandom into something much more intense than it was previously. And it’s all thanks to this funky skinny wizard man who for whatever reason captivated me enough that I read hundreds of thousands of fan-created words about him for nearly a year and a half

7) Jasnah Kholin from The Stormlight Archive

She’s one of the rare canonically asexual female characters, and she’s even from a major fantasy book series too! I fixated on this character long before I knew I was ace (though perhaps that should’ve been a clue lol), mostly because I just thought she was so cool and I found her whole “why would I want a relationship when I’m busy with all this shit to study” attitude so relatable

8) Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender

I wanted to be her so badly when I was a kid y’all have no idea. She just made such an impression on me because she’s so cool and so strong but also unapologetically and obviously feminine and that really struck a chord with young me and is prob the reason why I didn’t really have a “not like the other girls” phase cuz she was revolutionary for little me’s idea of how a “girl” can be. To this day she is the character that to me has the coolest powers ever

9) Cassandra of Troy from Greek Mythology

It’s prob weird to include her but I was a real greek mythology girlie (in that I was into it before Percy Jackson came out) and Cassandra has always my favorite. The tragedy of her story has always been very appealing to me and upsettingly relatable in a lot of ways

10) Kym Ladell from Purple Hyacinth

Ms. Kym one of those characters that’s ostensibly the comedic relief except nope she’s hiding oceans of pain under her smile. She’s got trauma and a tragic backstory that she hides from the rest of the main characters in one of the strongest “this is fine” performances you’ve ever seen

aww wait do y’all think percy ever took his family on deep sea trips? i can just see sally, annabeth, and paul all in an air bubble at the bottom of the sea as percy shows them cool things like a bunch of different sea creatures. i could see him encouraging them to play with the sharks and going on rescue missions together to save turtles and fishes that were trapped (and almost killed) by pollution.

fantasy weapons hc's!

nancy - bow/crossbow. i think this one is kind of obvious tbh, but i think that nancy can use a sword when she needs to. it's not her weapon of choice, but she'll use it if she has to. (nancy also secretly has magic, but that's a separate thing entirely) in the 'real' world, nancy of course has her beloved guns. (though she does keep an extra bow and quiver in the closet just to keep herself from getting rusty.

robin - torn between magic and sword honestly. robin to me definitely seems to be the one who would lean more into the magic aspect of everything, but i do like the idea that she has a sword that's specifically for her. like Riptide for percy jackson. or Excalibur. it's a broadsword made specifically for her, she's the only one who can wield it. (nancy does however, teach her how to use a bow. gay panic ensues.)

steve - big swords. montante sword. anything that has to be wielded in two hands is his specialty. (this includes baseball bats). he's also pretty skilled at close unarmed combat. (he doesn't always win the fights...but he tries!)

jonathan - i do not think jonathan is the type to use a sword, at all. unless it was to protect will, then i could see him picking up a sword. the most i think he has is a short sword that joyce asks him to carry with him, especially if he's travelling with will, or even just travelling alone. he's also a skilled unarmed combat fighter (as we've seen...) and he can fight, but i don't think he is a fighter. i could definitely see him with a big ass shield though.

argyle - once again i do not think he's a fighter. in fact he's the LEAST likely to be a fighter. but he does know the forest, and he's definitely the one who's patching up everyone. collecting the herbs to make salves and creams and the occasional potion to heal any cuts/infections. he also helps them relax. (nancy needs that purple palm tree delight im so serious) in the 'real' world, argyle runs a pharmacy.

eddie - daggers and rapiers. he's good with smaller/sharper weapons. throwing knives too. he finds other types of swords to be too big and clunky. i'd like to imagine he's also pretty skilled with shields too (as we've seen). in the fairytale world, he and wayne were blacksmiths, so eddie knows his way around weapons.
