Shoutout to our new planetarium guy, who not only interned at the planetarium/museum I went to as a kid but who might have decided to make his show-in-progress a show summarized as"Pluto isn't a planet: FIGHT ME"
meanwhile I found a script that I could modify this morning that let me put the Perseverance rover on Mars so we can "fly" the dome down like a spaceship and wave to it. Unfortunately Percy is really booking it towards the edge of our high-resolution terrain but hopefully he won't make it totally off until June 27 or 28 because that's the next chance I'll have to add tiles to Mars.

Percy is the type of person to take you to the aquarium, point to the ugliest fish and say “that’s you” but then take you to the planetarium and tell you your more beautiful than all of the stars

Hey bee what were the ROs like as children?
Hmmm, a very interesting question :) just as a general worldbuilding note, it’s very common for children to take on apprenticeships starting in their early teens – these are more like afterschool activities or may take the place of school, and they serve as a way for kids to play around with things they might like to do as they get older. This... may or may not have been based on something my sister's high school did.
Jefferson was a very precocious but friendly child. He and his younger sibling Tommie were raised by their mother. He became interested in fashion at a very young age, and his toys became the unwitting subjects of his early forays. He was very attached to Tommie almost immediately, and he has remained a dedicated older brother to this day. He got his first apprenticeship when he was 13, learning the ropes, er, threads at the Empress Designs Clothing Boutique. His old mentor actually still recommends him to clients.
Merrill was a very anxious and quiet child. He was raised by his paternal grandfathers after [REDACTED]. Merrill constantly clung to his Grandfather’s coattails, but his Granda would always eventually coax him away with ice cream and swing records. He was easily occupied with books and stereoscopes, but he had few friends. He was encouraged by his grandfathers to take a certification course at the Freerunners’ Guild in his teens to help him open up, and he took to it like a duck to water.
Clara was a rambunctious and adventurous child. She was raised by her three parents. She loved exploring, spending most of her early days finding every single nook and cranny she could in her neighborhood. She was extremely popular among the other children and always had a small parade of kids following her. She participated in a lot of group sports and other activities, and she has a good dozen or so certifications from her early teens.
Modesty was a proud, very prim child. She and her oldest brother Rance (Temperance), her older brother Val (Valiant), and her younger sisters Dee (Charity) and Mercy were raised by their parents. From her early childhood, Modesty was (ironically) taught to be proud of who she was. She took these lessons in stride, but she quickly learned that clerks, while important to the background, usually didn’t get their names put in history books. She’s strove to change that ever since.
Newt was a quiet but curious child. He was raised by his parents with a lot of assistance from his maternal aunt, Polly Mockett. He spent a lot of time at the Science Commons as a kid, but his favorite spot was always the Planetarium. He spent an entire summer reading every astronomy book he could get his hands on and staying outside all night to watch the stars. When he was 14, he finally got apprenticed there. At 16, he was offered a paying job, and he took it.
Max was an energetic and mechanically inclined child. They and their young sister Percy (Persephone) were raised by their parents. They were always tinkering with anything and everything, and they cannibalized their family’s appliances more than once. Unfortunately, they and their family were in a carriage accident when Max was ten – this was the accident where Max lost their leg. Max was the most unlucky of the group, and they are mostly glad that their sister, who was four, was relatively unharmed.
~
Sorry, Andrew, I just took your ask and ran with it XDD but this was fun!! I've been trying to get all of this written down formally, so this was excellent in facilitating that!

LUPERCALIA.
the exact origins of this pagan festival are uncertain, but it was thought that in ancient times LUPERCALIA took place to honor the she-wolf who raised romulus and remus, the founder of rome, and please the roman fertility god LUPERCUS
while traditionally held from february 13th to 15th, it is not to be confused with the later christian tradition celebrating saint valentine — it was not a celebration of pure and courtly love, but instead an intense, sexually-charged, and even perhaps bloody one filled with animal sacrifice and naked ritual
most notable to the festival was the random matchmaking ; during lupercalia, it is said that the men randomly chose a woman’s name from a jar to be coupled with them for the duration of the festival in the hopes of warding off evil spirits and infertility
NEW YORK, FEBRUARY 2021.
this would, in all likelihood, not be something in your mind in the modern day. a celebration that died out ages ago, lupercalia hardly finds a place in the memory of any contemporary new yorker.
however — that doesn’t stop a beautifully sealed red envelope from showing up on your doorstep, delicate filigree addressed to you specifically and bearing a striking resemblance to an invite long since pushed into the back of your mind
and you think back to the gala, that hedonistic mischief filled night, and the mysterious benefactors behind it. it was well done, lavish and over the top, and idly you recall being asked if you’d be interested in any future events. it hadn’t seemed like a big deal at the time, because it was an exciting evening and what's the harm, who wouldn’t want another night of magic, it wasn’t like you had to foot any bill — so you’d agreed, put down your name without much thought, and moved on with your life. it wasn’t until now, months later, you feel a spark of recognition
the origins of the sender are not any more clear than they were the first time around ; the invite claims you’re paired to go on some sort of quasi-date with another member, claims it’s so everyone who said they were interested in more events can get to know each other in a more intimate setting than the gala, but otherwise is void of much more explanation. a little off-putting maybe, but the reality of it stares up at you from a perfumed piece of parchment — you’ve already been matched. what are you supposed to do now, be the asshole that stands them up ?
OOC.
the event will take place IC at any time between FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 12TH, and SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 14TH — though, your muses will have received the notice in the mail sometime before this, as well as the contact information for their partners
OOC, the event will start on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13TH. we’ll give you until the following TUESDAY to plot, plan, and start threads with your writing partners, but we’d like for your starters to be posted by then ! feel free to take as long as you need with the actual completion of the threads, though !
we’ve chosen an event of this kind to promote our anti-bubble rping stance. we want to create and uphold an environment where everyone plots with as many people as possible, that’s why we think randomly paired events like this could have a positive influence on the climate we have here
on another note, especially if your character is in a relationship or aromantic / asexual, there is absolutely no obligation to make the thread romantic in nature. although valentine’s day and lupercalia definitely were, we’re not forcing you to have threads that are similar in nature when you’re not comfortable with such things for whatever reason. the pairings and locations are meant to work more as a framework or jumping point — feel free to make it as platonic, or even antagonistic, as you want, have your pair ditch the location they’re at completely midway through, etc. make the thread your own !
finally, please post any event content under #theikosevent002, including showing off any outfits if you so wish, and any event starters under #theikoseventstarter !
PAIRINGS + LOCATIONS.

okay, don’t worry, pt2 won’t come for a while
so, I was tagged in a lot of things by several people, and as a true procrastinator, I saved all of them, and they have been collecting dust in my drafts ever since. I picked the shorter ones and put them into one post. apologies to everyone tagged in advance. if I tagged you, feel free to choose which ones you want to do, if at all.
1 - List which 5 TV shows make you feel better, then tag 10 other blogs. – tagged by @selinenuli

Currently craving: as in food, right? nothing, I just finished lunch
Currently reading: okay, so here’s the thing… if by ‘currently reading’ you mean books I have read in the last month or so, then… nada. but if you mean books I have not finished yet, then… yeah, let’s not get into that list… last one I started and intend to finish when I find the motivation again is The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee

First of all, thank you Corwin ( @timsstutzle ) for the tag.
Nickname: uhh... I guess Basil because that's technically the name I use online instead of my real name
Zodiac: Aquarius Sun, Aquarius Rising, Virgo Moon
Height: 5′9′ aka 69 inches, nice.
Hogwarts House: Slytherin.
Last thing I Googled: “Minnesota Wild Captain” I was just checking in to see if there was any updates :( there weren’t...
Song stuck in my head: "I Can’t Shake the Stranger Out of You” by Lavender Country
Number of followers: 21 (I'm more a consumer than a creator anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
Amount of sleep: I’m a good boy who was been wrecked by both early morning shifts at work and school. so I sleep roughly 8 hours, 10pm to 6pm
Lucky Number: 11
Dream Job: ooh, obviously astronomer is up there as that will be my major. I’d especially love to work at a telescope and later on a planetarium.
Wearing: I exclusively wear pajama shorts, I am not comfortable in pants. and of course I’m wearing my islanders hoodie.
Favorite Authors: well... I like Donna Tartt, “The Secret History” is a great Dark Academia book. Otherwise I guess Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson was a big part to my early childhood.
Favorite Instrument: what a weird question? the harp.
Aesthetic: I would say... Lumberjack in the city? like I love the look and feel of the wilderness style but I much prefer living closer to a city. Probably why Washington and Oregon are like end goal dream living.
Favorite Song: uhh... careless whisper? like unironically, I love George Michael and the lyrics are nice.
Favorite Animal Noise: I- who has a favorite animal noise??? (I guess a raven)?
Random: I don’t like coffee or tea. when I wake up that’s it, I’m up.

(P/O) love is a wild thing
AO3
When Oliver sees Percy again, he is standing in front of the Woods’ cottage, legs plastered together in the most awkward stance Oliver has ever seen. From the side view, his fiery curls have grown longer and darker, but his freckles are mapped in the exact same places Oliver remembers.
“Percy?” he asks, careful not to stutter. Percy gives a slight jump at his voice.
“Oliver!” he says, turning towards him with a nervous smile. “I thought I would drop by to say hello—so, hello.”
Olivia tries hard not to stare at him. It’s unfair, really, how feelings can come rushing back at the slightest peek of him. George has warned him that Percy would return home from Oxford for two weeks, and since then he has been bracing himself against the inevitable.
“Well, hello,” says Oliver. It’s a deliberate choice not to pull him into a hug right away (which is what he would’ve done if he knows how to treat Percy as any other friend). “Do you want to come in?” It seems rude not to ask, especially when Percy took it in himself to come over.
“I don’t want to intrude...”
“Perce, we’ve known each other since we were four.”
Once they’re situated in the kitchen, there is more ease between them. Percy rambles on about his classes while Oliver prepares the tea, plain Earl Grey and peppermint, just the way it’s always been.
University has brought Percy even more out of his shell; he is surrounded by people—worldly and clever people—who loves to debate laws and regulations and abstract schools of thought as much as he does. Oliver is saddened by the thought that he no longer needs him, but sitting close to him and listening to him talk (even if he doesn’t always pay attention; Percy’s lips are always a lovely distraction) brings back fond memories.
“What about you?”
Oliver blinks. “Me?”
“Yeah,” he blushes, obviously embarrassed now. “What have you been up to?”
“Working at my dad’s auto repair shop. Keeps me busy. Other than that, I’ve been reading and, uh, writing a little.” He doesn’t mention the obvious: he has suffered from a broken leg right before he was supposed to embark on a rugby scholarship to Loughborough. Though he was forced to stay at home while his mates went off to various corners of Britain, he’s been gaining most of his mobility back over the past five months. Enough to get him off the crutches.
“Good for you.” Oliver searches for any hints of sarcasm in Percy’s tone, but he is beaming at Oliver as if he’s truly proud. As if his reckless injury never happened. “What have you been writing?”
“Nothing much to show, really,” he shrugs. “Do you remember all those murder mystery novels we used to trade?”
“How could I forget?” Percy smiles, revealing a few deep dimples that distract Oliver. “Is that what you’re writing—murder mystery stories?”
“With more queer representation, of course,” he says with a wry smile. “But I don’t know if they’re any good, and at this early stage I’m too shy to show anyone anything.”
“Oliver Wood, shy?” Percy raises his eyebrows. “What has the world come to?”
“I’m a man of surprise.”
“Evidently.” He takes a sip of his tea. “You can show me what you’ve written. If you want, I mean. I know I’ve got the reputation of a razor-tonged critic—”
“I distinctly remember you telling six-year-old Ron that his drawings look as if Satan possessed his body, got drunk off vodka-spiked slushies, and vomited all over the paper.”
“I’m always nice to you.” Percy taps Oliver’s feet with his own. “Besides, I was only ten. I’m a changed man now; I even stopped signing my name off in text messages.”
“I noticed,” Oliver laughs. “I wish you wouldn’t stop doing that. It was endearing.”
“Endearing?”
“Yeah, you know, cute.” He thanks the dark complexion he inherited from his dear mum for hiding his blush.
Percy’s eyes widen from behind his glasses. They’re still brilliantly, beautifully blue and Oliver hates him for it. “Listen, I hate to end this conversation, but I promised Mum I would be home for dinner. Can I see you tomorrow?”
“I can come by after work,” Oliver offers, trying not to sound too eager. “I haven’t been to your house since the twins’ birthday bash. I think everyone from that party got implicitly banned from entering again.”
Percy’s laugh leaves him feeling warm and tingly.
#
Percy’s room looks more or less the same. This is the domain of a boy with worlds at his disposal, tucked into neatly aligned novels and books of poems. A model of the solar system takes center stage on his desk. There is a cardboard cutout of Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy in the corner—a gag gift that Charlie knowingly got him on his fifteenth birthday—but everything else is nothing less than scholarly. Except, maybe, an IKEA candle burning on his bedside table.
Percy pats the spot beside him on the bed, and Oliver plops down next to him.
“Are you still dating Flint?” he asks Oliver, tilting his head in inquiry.
The question is unexpected enough to make Oliver feel hopeful. “Haven’t seen him since he went to Sheffield. We weren’t even dating, really, more like fooling around. He got bored while I was recovering. Good riddance, really. What about you? Are you seeing anyone?”
Please say no. “Not since Penelope. We’re mates now; we’ve been encouraging each other to participate in social events at Oxford and we live in different colleges so things don’t get too awkward.”
“That’s good to hear,” Oliver slowly nods, relieved by the news. These two weeks wouldn’t change a thing between him and Percy, but he feels better knowing that the object of his pining is unattached. “So. Anything planned to do while you’re crashing back home?”
“Spending time with family, mostly.” He winces. “God, I forgot what it’s like to live under the same roof as the twins. No peace or privacy. But I quite missed it, strangely enough. It’s also nice to catch up with Ron and Ginny, though Ron acts like I’m the dreaded third parent. But Ginny’s been sending me emails ever since I left; I think she thinks no-one at home has time to listen.”
“That’s lovely of her to write,” says Oliver. “I’ve been trying to keep in touch with you too, but after a while...”
“You don’t have to explain yourself.”
“No, wait.” Without thinking of the implications, his hand closes over Percy’s, which was lying on the space-patterned duvet between them. “Seeing as how we left things off, I thought it would be...well, I thought we needed some space.”
“I think about you every day, Oliver.”
“Y-You do?”
“Of course I do,” Percy says, colder this time. He pulls his hand free from under Oliver’s. He misses the warmth immediately. “When you keep ignoring my texts, I suspected that you wanted to forget about me, that you didn’t care about how I was doing. I don’t expect you to drop everything else to pay attention to me, of course not, seeing as you’re in recovery—but it still bloody stings.”
“Oh, fuck, Percy,” Oliver groans, “I’m so, so sorry. I thought—I thought I was doing you a favor. I mean, you’re brilliant. You’re brilliant and wonderful and you are going to take the world by storm. You don’t need a boy from home holding you back, you know?”
“That,” Percy narrows his eyes, “is the stupidest pile of shite I’ve ever heard.”
The profane remark is a hurtful surprise; Percy only swears while watching EastEnders or when he’s really upset. “I’ve been selfish, but not because I don’t love you enough,” says Oliver, gently. “It’s because I love you too much for my own sanity.”
It’s an overly dramatic declaration that belongs in a soap opera about infidelities among the rich, but he wouldn’t take it back if he could.
Percy gapes at him as if he’s gone mad. “Did it ever occur to you that I may love you too, you absolute idiot?”
Oliver couldn’t believe his own ears. “I’ve asked you out three times while we were at school. You’ve had plenty of time to prove that.”
“The first time, you were so intoxicated you forgot the word ‘date’—”
“Drunken me is still honest and true!”
“The second time was over text. With typos!”
Oliver squeezes his eyes shut. “That text took me about ten minutes to compose, and my fingers shook from the nerves. But the message was very clear.”
“Well, I thought you were teasing. Or drunk-texting. Or meant to send it to Flint or some other bloke.”
“But the third time,” Oliver insists, “couldn’t have been clearer. Face-to-face and sober and flowers in my hand and on your bloody doorstep while it was raining. And my hair was gelled. God, Percy, my hair was gelled.”
“I was at the brink of moving across the country.” He averts his eyes. “It wasn’t the right time. I can’t treat our relationship like a summer dalliance.”
“It never seems to be the right time, does it?” Oliver sighs, touching Percy’s hand again.
“I’m sorry, Ol.” Unexpectedly, he takes Oliver’s hand up to his lips to press a kiss against his fingers. “I’m really sorry.”
#
The kettle begins to boil in earnest just as the knocks on the front door become more and more insistent. Cursing under his breath—he had expected a free night in to work on his novel, it was raining after all—Oliver walks up to the door.
He is met with the sight of Percy Weasley, drenched in rain and armed with yellow flowers.
“These are for you, you’re welcome.” Percy hands the flowers to Oliver. Despite wilting from the rain, they're still very beautiful, which causes an unfair riot in his heart. “Jonquils. I think they signify love and desire? The florist could be spouting bollocks for all I know; she listened to me talk about you and chose these, so I hope you like them. Or don’t hate them, at the very least.”
“You know I love them. They’re from you, after all.” He looks at Percy in the eye and gives him a smile—tentative, slow. “And I know nothing about floral meanings, so you’re safe. Is this why you came? To give me a bouquet?”
“I noticed there’s a new natural history museum on Godric’s Road, but they still couldn't get a bloody planetarium.”
“Yeah, I know about that. I live in this town.”
“It still looks enticing. I thought we could go on our first date there, then get lunch at The Three Broomsticks and buy each other gifts from the bookshop like we used to.”
“Perce...I don't understand." He puts a hand on Percy's shoulder. "What changed?"
“Two weeks may not be much, but we’ve known each other our whole lives." Percy raises his chin in defiance. "Something as inconsequential as physical distance couldn’t stand against the both of us.”
Percy pushes their foreheads together until there is not so much as a breath between them. Hell, Oliver couldn’t even breathe. His heart gallops in his chest and his world narrows until there is nothing else outside the boy in front of him. “Are you going to take me to a planetarium next?” he asks with a chuckle.
“If you’re ever so lucky.”

The Moon and Planets
The moon is a shared global experience. Everyone on Earth sees the same phase of the moon. This week, the moon will pass from First Quarter to Second Quarter in its monthly trip around Earth. What’s Second Quarter, you ask? Why, it’s the Full Moon! Measuring from the New Moon phase, when the moon is hidden beside the sun in the daytime sky, the First Quarter Phase occurs about seven days later, at which time the moon passes a point in the sky that is 90° from the sun. (If you stretch one arm west towards the setting sun and the other south towards the first quarter moon, you’ll form that 90° angle.) A week later, the moon will appear opposite the sun in the sky and fully illuminated, rising just as the sun sets.
To be precise, First Quarter phase occurred last night (Saturday) at 9:12 pm EDT. So it will look slightly more than half full tonight (Sunday), and will be sitting just below the stars that form Leo (the Lion). For the rest of the week, the moon will wax fuller and rise later every evening. Remember that the waxing gibbous moon is still a terrific sight in binoculars and backyard telescopes!
On Wednesday evening, the moon will land among the stars of Virgo (the Maiden). Look for Virgo’s brightest star Spica sitting less than an outstretched fist’s diameter below the bright and nearly full moon. Your unaided eyes are unlikely to pick out the rest of Virgo’s dimmer stars – but binoculars will reveal them.
Tumblr media
(Above: On Friday night, the waxing gibbous moon will land between two of the bright stars in Libra, the Scales. The sky is shown here at 1 am local time on Saturday. By that time, the bright planets Jupiter and Saturn will be in view.)
On Friday night, the very bright moon (only one day shy of full) will land between the two brightest stars of Libra (the Scales). The fairly bright star to the moon’s upper left is called Zubeneschamali “the Northern Claw”, while the star to the moon’s lower right is Zubenelgenubi “the Southern Claw”. Those two stars used to be considered part of Scorpius (the Scorpion). Alternate names for those two stars describe their roles forming the balance of the scales.
For the coming weekend, the moon will pass into Scorpius itself. The May full moon, known as the Full Milk Moon, Full Flower Moon, or Full Corn Planting Moon, will occur at 5:11 pm EDT on Saturday, so the moon will appear completely full all night long. Full moons always rise in the east as the sun sets, and set in the west at sunrise. Since no shadows are cast by the vertically impinging sunlight on a full moon, all of the brightness differences are generated by the reflectivity, or albedo, of the surface geology. Look for the bright rays of material arrayed around some of the younger craters. Tycho, the big, bright crater in the moon’s south-central region, has a huge set of them. Many more, smaller ray systems can be easily seen in binoculars.
Did you know that indigenous people in Canada and around the world have long understood that the tidal force generated by the moon’s gravity draws the water table higher and up into the trees? Their wood-workers know not to harvest wood around the full moon. The wood will be wetter, take longer to dry, and is prone to cracking. I suppose the same rule would apply to felling trees for firewood.
Tumblr media
(Above: Reddish Mars will remain observable within the western evening twilight for a few more weeks as it sinks sunward, as shown here at 9:15 pm local time. Once the sky darkens, look for the bright stars Capella at right, the twin stars Castor and Pollux at top centre, and Procyon to their left.)
Reddish Mars is now truly beginning its “exit, stage West”. It will be visible for about an hour after dusk every evening, surrounded by evening twilight. Soon it will attain conjunction with the sun, followed by a re-appearance in the eastern pre-dawn sky in November.
The next available bright planet, mighty Jupiter, will rise in the east just before 11 pm local time this week. It’s gradually making its way into position for summer evening stargazing. For now, if you are walking through the house in your pj’s during the wee hours, Jupiter’s bright beacon might catch your eye through a southerly window. Jupiter will reach its highest point over the southern horizon at about 3:30 am local time and then descend towards the west as dawn arrives. If you’d like to see the famous Great Red Spot in your telescope, it will be on the side of Jupiter that faces Earth around midnight tonight (Sunday) and Wednesday. The rest of the time, you can look for the four bright Galilean moons arrayed to either side of Jupiter. Sometimes you’ll only see two or three of them if the rest are hidden by Jupiter itself.
Tumblr media
(Above: The Great Red Spot on Jupiter will be visible from time to time this week, including this view at 1 am EDT On Wednesday, May 15. Three of the four Galilean moons are at upper right.)
Look for yellowish Saturn, which will be rising about 2 hours after Jupiter all summer, sitting about 2.5 outstretched fist diameters to the lower left (east) of Jupiter in the pre-dawn sky. Saturn will officially enter the evening sky in the last week of May. Dust off your telescope because even a small telescope will show its rings!
Tumblr media
(Above: The eastern sky at 11 pm local time features the stars that will grace the summer stargazing season. Bright Vega and almost-as-bright Deneb are two corners of the Summer Triangle asterism. Altair will complete the trio after midnight. )
Distant and dim, blue Neptune is in the southeastern pre-dawn sky, among the stars of Aquarius (the Water-Bearer). The planet will rise a before 4 am local time. But I’ll wait for summer, when it will be available in the evening, to look for it.
Venus and Mercury are mostly invisible now, low in the eastern pre-sunrise sky. They’ll soon completely disappear in solar conjunction. Mercury will enter the western evening sky by May’s end, and Venus will appear there in September.
Bright Stars
With the moon getting full this week, only the brighter stars will remain visible using unaided eyes. Here’s a rundown of the brightest ones. Facing west after sunset, look low in the sky for the bright yellowish Capella in Auriga (the Charioteer). A little higher, and to the east (left), is the matched pair of stars Castor (on the right) and Pollux (on the left) in Gemini (the Twins). Directly overhead, you can look for the seven bright stars of the Big Dipper.
Swinging around to the southeast, and looking well up the sky, you’ll find yellow-orange Arcturus, the brightest star in Boötes (the Herdsman).  Finally, climbing the northeastern sky is Vega, in Lyra (the Harp). To Vega’s lower left is another bright star named Deneb. These two stars are the first corners of the Summer Triangle asterism to appear. And that tells us that summer will soon arrive in the Northern hemisphere!
Keep looking up, and enjoy the sky when you do. I love questions and requests - so, send me some!

Have you ever actually drank warm milk? I’m lactose intolerant so I can count on two hands all the times I’ve drank just milk...and there’s probably one or two times I had it warm. Have you used it to help you sleep? Did it work? I can’t use milk for anything unless I want to really upset my stomach haha. Do you prefer to have milk when you eat cakes/cookies? There’s a certain local cookie shop that I’ll have milk with, but other than that no. What is your preferred brand of chocolate? Reese’s. Do you like white chocolate? I love white chocolate anything.
Do you use coconut oil for anything? What? Not me. Have you been wanting to start watching any shows? I know the new season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine has started, but Netflix culture has conditioned me to watch seasons in full so I’ll probably wait until they’ve release all their episodes. I also want to get back to watching The Crown. Are there any movies you want to see? Roma. Are there any movies/shows you've seen so many times you're sick of them? No. In fact the reason why I’d watch certain movies or shows too many times is because I never get sick of them. What about songs you've heard so many times you hate them? There’s this song on the radio that has the lyric ‘2002′ in it - literally the most annoying song I can think of at the moment. Also Party for One or whatever it’s called by Carly Rae Jepsen. If you could look like any celebrity, which one would it be? I don’t really actively wish I look like any of them haha. But Marion Cotillard, Emma Stone, and Natalie Portman are all really pretty. Do you have any distinctive birthmarks? I have one at the back of my left shoulder. When was the first time you tasted alcohol? It was a month after I turned 18, it was at Kaira’s party, and I felt left out because everyone was drinking and I was the only one there who had never had a sip. I was terrified to try because up until that point, my only impression of alcohol in general was that it made my family monsters. They said it would be different and I had nothing to be scared of, so I ended up trying a margarita and it was sooooooo good. Do you wear socks under your slippers? No. What is the coldest weather you've experienced? Maybe around 10 to 12 C. Japan. Have you ever eaten snow? I’ve never even seen snow. Are there any metals that turn your skin green? There could be but I haven’t encountered them. Do you ever put honey in your tea? I don’t drink tea. Do you have any prejudices? As much as possible I try not to. Do you know anybody who gets feminism confused with misandry? No. I don’t think everyone in my circle is even familiar with the concept of misandry. It’s not a term that’s thrown around that much. Do you talk to your pets? I talk to my dog, yeah. When you do, is your tone different from when you talk to humans? Oh definitely. I use a higher pitch and a more maternal tone hahaha. Do you like using terms of endearment? Only for Gabie and little kids. Who is a famous person you could see yourself reading a biography about? This is gonna sound morbid but I recently read about how JFK had a sister who was a little on the mentally-delayed side, and how she was given a lobotomy to supposedly fix her brain but they ended up completely fucking it over, and because they hit the wrong part of her brain she ended up having the same intelligence as a 2 year old for the rest of her life. There’s a bunch of anecdotes on Wikipedia, but I’d definitely inhale a biography about that just because it seems so interesting. What is the best horror movie, in your opinion? Hmm I haven’t had the time to watch any of the new ones - and the newest roster of horror films is looking super good, so it’s a shame I haven’t seen even one of them - so I’ll have to give you a really old title. Carrie. Curtains or blinds? Blinds. Describe yourself with 3 fictional characters. Monica Geller, Amy Santiago, and I couldn’t think of a last one so I asked Gabie and she said Dana Scully “minus the praying part.” Are there any numbers you dislike for any reason? No, not really. What names do you dislike? Anything that sounds like it came from the 50′s like Ruth or Nancy. Do you own/wear any jumpsuits? Yeah I own a couple. Do you wear long johns under your clothes when it gets really cold? I had to Google what that was because I’m sure as hell no one uses those here lmfao, it never gets that cold in this part of the world. Have you ever adopted a stray? (Cat or dog) My sister adopted a cat. What's a movie you think more people should see? Good Will Hunting. Do you like anything starring Robert Redford or Paul Newman? I don’t think so. I found Paul Newman really attractive for a time though. Do you struggle with dry skin in the winter? We don’t have winter. And my dry skin comes and goes, it doesn’t have a schedule, to put it that way. Do you have any friends in a different timezone? Aubrey is a friend of mine but I never talk to her anymore. Have you ever had to go without heat? Do you read about any mythology? (Greek, Roman, Norse, Egyptian, etc) I read the Percy Jackson series in middle school and we had to read a bunch of Greek works in high school, but I personally hate mythology. If you do, do you have any favorite gods/goddesses? Have you ever had to take medication to help you sleep? No, I’m too scared for how it could turn out cos I’ve never tried it before. Have you ever had to take medication to keep you awake? (Like No-Doz) Nope, I just drink coffee. Are you still in touch with the person you lost your virginity with? She’s still my girlfriend and I texted her like seven minutes ago, so yes. Have you ever had sex with a friend? Yes but she was already my girlfriend when we did it. Was it awkward afterward? No, it was really nice. If not, do you think you could ever have a friend with benefits? I’m demisexual, so definitely not. Do you know anybody with more than two nipples? I don’t think so. Do you ever use bath bombs? No. Do you think it's prettier when the moon is full, or a crescent? The moon is pretty either way. Have you ever been to a planetarium? Yes, on a field trip in 6th grade. That was forever ago though, and I want to visit another one again. Have you grown to dislike your first email address? I don’t even remember the first one I ever made... What skill that you have do you make most use of? Attention to detail and organization. Do you agree that some people are just not meant to have children? YES Do you like wearing wool, or is it too itchy? I don’t wear it since it’s too warm for my country’s climate, so I neither like nor dislike it. Have you ever gotten angry at an employee and complained to the manager? No, usually I’d just have a quick look at the nametag at whoever’s pissing me off. Have you ever sent your food back at a restaurant? I don’t think I have. I’m super non-confrontational and I’d only send it back if my chicken was like raw or if I saw a worm in my food. Do you think people remember the 90s as better than they actually were? Sis I wouldn’t know, I was barely present for the 1990s. What songs bring back happy memories for you? Still Into You - Paramore. Are there any smells that bring back happy memories? My grandma’s cooking, Gabie’s perfume, Angela’s house are all I can think of off the top of my head.

To space!-Fluff Week Day 6
I’ve been reading a couple kid!Paladins stories and wanted to do one of my own. Don’t think I did it well cause how kids actually talk is a challenge for me. But I still hope you enjoy.
“There’s an extra sweater in his bag and I know you have a stocked first aid kit, but I put another one in there just in case.” Shiro stood in front of Ulaz with a patient smile. He knew there were protective parents, some more than others, but Ulaz took it to a whole other level. He guessed it had to do with him being a doctor. Ulaz being his own physical therapy doctor was insight enough to how he could be. He shared a look with Thace, his husband behind Ulaz’s back, who looked a bit exasperated.
“Honey,” Thace said, interrupting his husband, “Keith is going to be completely fine. You trust Shiro and Allura don’t you?”
“Of course I do.” Shiro took a bit of pride in the look Ulaz gave Thace, like it was a stupid question to ask.
“Then I’m sure he’s more than capable in making sure Keith is ok. They’re going to a planetarium, you know, the one we take Keith to all the time.” Thace said, gesturing to their adopted son, who was leaning against Thace’s leg, looking rather bored.
“Wow, you’ve been to the planetarium huh?” at Keith’s nod, Shiro said, “maybe you should lead the tour and not our guide huh?” Keith shook his head. “no? Aright, I guess we’ll have to deal with the tour guide. Hey, why don’t you go and play with the others while your dad,” he said looking at Ulaz, “makes your bag a bit lighter?” he watched as Keith ran over to where Lance and Hunk were playing, Pidge nearby, her eyes focused on the tablet on her lap. “Ulaz, really. Keith will be fine. So let’s empty the bag a little huh?”
Keith plopped himself down next to Lance, who was laying down on his blue lion plush to roll Chuchule, one of the class pet mice, in her ball.
“Why’s your bag so big?”
“Dad kept putting things in my bag but daddy was telling him not to, but he didn’t listen.”
“Is it true you went to the planetarium?” Pidge asked, not looking up from her iPad. The kids were allowed to bring electronics on field trips, but once they got there, they were handed over to their teachers and they got them back on the trip back to school.
Keith nodded, “daddy took me there after he and dad adopted me. It’s really cool. They have this really cool room where you can play with the planets.”
“Really? I wanna see it!” Lance said, letting Chuchule roll off. “do you think we can go see it?”
Keith shrugged, “I don’t know.”
Thace came over with the reduced bag and dropped it next to his son as he crouched down next to him. “alright, Shiro convinced your dad to take some things out, so your bags much lighter. I’ll come pick you up when you get back ok? Have a good time.” Thace pressed a kiss to Keith’s head. “I’ll see you later.”
“Bye daddy.”
“Ulaz means well.” Allura stated, picking up Chuchule’s ball.
“Yeah, I know, though, he can go a bit overboard. Should we check and make sure everyone is here?”
Allura nodded. “we did get calls from some parents saying they’re kids won’t be able to come because of the cold going around. So we should have a small group.”
“Yes, but Keith and Lance are in that group and you know how that usually goes.”
Sharing a smile with Shiro, Allura said, “yes, either they’re arguing up a storm or they’re somehow getting into trouble. I just hope the manager of the planetarium doesn’t tell us off, like we’re the little kids.” The two burst into childish giggles at the thought.
Allura sobered up, “but we are going to keep an eye on them and make sure they understand they can’t cause any trouble.”
Giving a firm nod, Shiro agreed. The two looked at each other and dissolved into giggles again.
“Ok, seriously, we have to be serious if they get into trouble.” Allura said
“We will, we will. I’m sure they’ll be on their best behaviour.”
“Alright guys, remember stay with your partner at all times and have your name tags on. We don’t want to lose any of you but if we do, look for a person wearing the planetarium shirt and show them your name tag ok?” Shiro instructed. When the kids answered him, Shiro started again, “alright, our tour guide is gonna meet us soon and take us around. No wandering off and please listen to them ok?”
“Welcome little space rangers!” an energetic man with orange hair and an impressive moustache came bounding over. “This is the Lions Kindergarten correct? Well not anymore, today you are the Paladins of the Lions, protectors of space!” The kids all giggled at the eccentric man in front of them. “I am Coran and I’ll be your guide. Today, I’ll take you on your training so you can finish by going around our planets.”
Keith was holding onto Lance’s hand so they could stay close and started yanking on it, “Lance, that sounds like that planet room.”
“Really? I want to see it.”
“Maybe we go see it. I know how to get there.”
Lance’s face filled with excitement as Coran got the kids to follow him down the hall to their first activity. They were lead into a room that held a large silver dome with an opening to crawl into.
“Alright, first thing’s first. We need to learn about the different stars. So I’m going to give you a small lesson on the different constellations. What is a constellation you might ask? Well, all those questions will be answered inside the star dome. Are any of the kids claustrophobic?” Coran asked the teachers.
Shiro shook his head, “Lance has a mild case but only when he’s in a small space by himself. But I’ll sit him next to me near the entrance.” Then he looked over at Allura who started yanking hard on his sleeve. “what? What is it?”
“We’ve made a new record. Keith and Lance are gone.” Shiro looked around and saw she was right. There was no familiar heads of hair or matching Space Rangers shirts the two had been wearing.
“How the heck did they disappear so quickly? Where could they of gone?”
“Keith wanted to show Lance the planet room,” Pidge said, from her spot next to Shiro.
“If she’s talking about the one on the tour then it’s not surprising that’s where they went, it’s not that far from here. Down the hall and instead of going left, go right. The door way is big and there’s a sign next to the room.” Coran instructed.
“Ok, Allura keep an eye on the rest of them. I’ll go get our wandering Paladins.”
Finding the room wasn’t hard. The hallway wasn’t filled with people so he could hear the two kids voices clearly.
“Mars was named after the Roman god of war. He’s also called Ares.” Lance was saying.
“How do you know that?”
“My big brother is reading Percy Jackson to me. We started Heroes of Olympus last night. Did you know Roman gods have Greek names too?”
“Really? Well I like Mars the best. There are aliens there. What planet do you like?”
There was a pause of silence before Lance stared speaking again. “Neptune? I like Poseidon and that’s what he’s called.”
“Do you want to go to space?” the question was a turn in subject but that’s how kids were.
“Yeah! I wanna be like the Space Explores, and be a hero of the universe. And you’ll be there with me.”
Deciding to make himself known, Shiro walked into the room to see Keith and Lance spinning the Mars model. It looked like anyone was allowed to move the planets that hung from the ceiling in any way they wanted. “how are you two going to be Space Explorers if your missing out on training? Boys, what did we say about wandering off?”
Looking incredibly sheepish, Keith said, “I knew where we were going. Daddy takes me here all the time.”
“I know, but you two aren’t going to be able to go into space if you get into trouble. Come on you two.” The two boys took each of his hands and let themselves be lead back to where the lesson on constellations was happening. “but hey, wanna know what my favourite planet is?”
Forgetting that they were in a bit of trouble, Lance started to beg, “which one, which one?”
“I like Pluto best, small and underappreciated.”
“But Shiro, we like you.” Lance said, looking confused.
“Well then, at least I’m doing my job right?”
