Another year is over so it's time for a look back at what was happening on this blog! I haven't really been around, it was just my queue, and maybe that's one reason why I looked at my archive and went "huh" at everything. I don't remember much. The other reason why this year probably went poof in my head is because I was dealing with some mental health stuff lol. I say lol but it wasn't actually very lol but I'm doing better now and 2024...is looking promising for now.

So, let's talk more under the cut, shall we?

January

We're in Bridgeport and Sawyer is living his best life. You know, girlfriends, boyfriends, being turned into a vampire, giving birth to three little vampires, threatening to sell his enemies' organs on the black market...best life indeed.

February

Okay I am now seeing that "talking more" about every month will be impossible since I actually don't have much recollection of 2023 lmao

March

Sawyer and Erin are at the best point of their relationship, but we left them alone for a bit and went back to NSB. Pastel just moved to Strangerville and got a...rather strange roommate.

April

The rather strange roommate becomes Pastel's rather strange wife. I love these two so much. We also say hello to Moss -- and also to Ross, who returns from...god knows where. I mean yeah, there was the ts3 Ross, but technically they're two different people. Parallel universes and stuff.

May

Thea is born and strange wife Jesse gets even stranger. That whole "merging with the mother plant" thing was kinda weird but I really enjoyed it. Idk what I was on but it was fun. And then, before returning to the lepacy, I posted my Cottage Living screenshots! ...which were really just me going "uwu what does this do" on every possible Wicked Whims option.

June

...and I went from posting weird WW Ross stuff to posting wholesome Growing Together Ross stuff. If that gave you a whiplash, I am sorry, but imagine what it must be like for me. I'm locked with this guy in my head 24/7. He's the whiplash king. A blorbo to you, a curse to me. A beloved curse tho. Ok I'm getting weird. Back to the lepacy.

July

Lepacy time! Loved the soap opera Generations gen. Kinda wish I had sticked to some of the storylines instead of going "eh nvm I just wanna play". I'm not saying I regret not actually letting Saywer go on a killing spree but also...imagine if he went on a killing spree. You don't see that in lepacies often do ya

August

August was...welp 💀 I was at the grippy socks hospital for most of that month, 10/10 would recommend, but my queue ran out while I was there so I just reblogged some old stuff for a few weeks.

September

September is just lepacy month. Cornelia and Archer are happy, they get married, they get more children...yeah. Good wholesome Generations times all around. It's not like they're gonna get divorced later or anything.

October

The twins are kind of chaotic, one of them turns into a ghost, both then bring their cursed imaginary friends to life...and the final child of Archer and Cornelia is born.

November

I loved running into Sawyer at the grocery store all the time. Weird vampire alleged killer grandpa behavior suits him. Dorothea goes away to a boarding school, hates it there and instantly comes back. Relatable. Oh and midlife crisis hits Archer hard.

December

And we're in December! Dorothea enters her horsegirl era and finds herself a girlfriend...and we'll continue that in 2024!

What's in store for the new year besides the lepacy? Well, Not So Berry will be making a return (and HOPEFULLY we'll finally get to the end. we need to). There's a story I want to do in the NSB universe, if you know you know. Before we dive into the next lepacy generation, I'm thinking of another BC with the gen 7 heir...oh and Marika's Black Widow. Shoot and I'm starting an irl job in January. Yeah no we're not doing all this in 2024, don't count on it 💀 But I'll try.

This episode had everything. A werewolf hunter working for small business owners, an evil wizard blazing his own political posts, a punk rock rock Punk embracing the power of friendship, a religious robot learning the earth isn't flat, a pastel horsegirl with lightning titties making out with an undead goth woman, fairy slenderman bargaining with nightmare creatures on the moon, and a Guard, a Toymaker, and a Professor entering a church and getting visions of the apocalypse from a death worshiping Priestess who had special water and chill vibes.

Okay first of, this is so on point I am offended

Second, yes, I did horseback riding for 5 years, then I had a trampoline incident

One bad jump, and I twisted my sacrum which led to pain for around six month

And then my brother kicked me on accident and it was six more month of pain

After that I didn't feel like going back to riding, I didn't wanna have to be social to the rest of the group again 😭

Tho to be very honnest, I've never been a horsegirl horsegirl

I loved horses, and still do, and as a kid I had so many horse related stuff, and loved watching My little pony because omg pastel ponies.

But I wasn't really competitive, I never was trying to get the best of everything, have every horse related item possible or get my own horse ( all of which my step sister did and still does actually, she has been riding for around 10-ish years now ! It's a whole other level haha )

But anyway

Yeah.

Also as a matter of fact

I did horseback riding until my accident, then it was archery for around two ish years, and then self defense for one year, all between the ages of 8-9 to 16-17 ( not counting what I practiced at school, tho I did do my fair share of rock climbing )

Priscilla, 2023

Well how couldn't I write about Priscilla.

Where do we start. As a millenial dirtbag I grew up with Coppolas Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation and Marie Antoinette. All films fetishizing young girls. Around the 2010 there weren't many female filmmakers present, and we could say that Sofia Coppolas films were therefore as much creating a certain tumblr aesthetic, that reminds of teengirls/horsegirl fantasies, thou there weren't horses, as well as depicting a certain type of white girl, her characters mostly malenourished, blond, dreamy. What a cis men could connect trough our male gazed history as pedophile lolita-aesthetic (thanks nabokov. fuck you), would be read trough my pre-coming out gaze as something I wanna be and therefor something I realize at the end desire. Coppolas characters are those lost babes, that are bored and sad, intellectually unchallanged, and living in bizarre patriarchical structures ( thinking of the Character in Lost in translation, living isolated in Tokio because of her photographer boyfriend) or Marie Antoinette, who lives in an arranged marriage with a King, she barely knows. All those babes I want to save, I wanna take them out of the social prisons and have fun with them, and thats what those characters are basically doing in Sofias films. They escape trough different ways, and still they are all highly commercialized, superficial product value oriented, fashion films. Here we realize, that I'm bought as much as in the idea of the patriarchical constructed princess peach syndrom ( I'm supermario saving princess peach) as much as Sofia Coppolas films are in any way feminist or questioning this order.

Well so lets roast Priscilla.

I was actually very excited to see the film, especially interested in the costumes and how Coppola would deal with this grooming tale. Just a little background info: Priscilla Presley was 14 years old and Elvis was 24, when the grooming process happened. They married when she was 21 , but Priscilla started living isolated at Presley's Graceland, when she was 17/18. Elvis brought her into contact with amphetamines and sleeping pills and yeah basically groomed that kid.

The film itself is beautifully shot, as viewers we are very much following up the story out of Priscillas perspective. The prison in form of the Graceland ranch, is present here as well. Her feelings of isolation and lonelyness ( Priscilla is not allowed to have friends during her stay with Elvis) is depicted trough many close up of details, like the carpet in the house, scenes of her dog, details of her doing Make up. The control freak Elvis is treating her like a doll, and decides on her looks and dresses, who she talks to, where she even goes to school to. It's BIZARRE. But yeah all those tik tok kids out there imitating the 50s/60s fashion looks right, ITS BAD. those times were bad, and we queers would all be in prison. It's scary my dear readers. Watching time period films to me is always such a strange experience.

Anyways back to the film. So the film is dealing with Priscillas life from the moment she meets and leaves Elvis, and thats basically it. We see her adolesence passing in the prison of Elvis, and the film therefore reminds me of an old, pink stamp. It's not life changing, but beautifully filmed, like an ass log prada commercial, but also its pace is very slow, but not to slow. It's definetly an arthouse film, and I wished she had the freedom in her music choices like in her earlier works, as an example indie music and converse in Marie Antoinette.

I also thought a lot about if Coppola is actually bi/gay anything? Like she has as a certain way of depicting women, very sensual camerashoots, mellow color grading, pastell light situations, also FEET, like details. Personal theory since I witness that a lot in films made by women, this obsession with details. I feel like since we live in a patriarchical society and women were for a long time considered less smart ( educational systems, the performance of women in scientific fields worldwide is : Across the world, roughly 33% of persons employed in science research are female. The highest share is in Central Asia at 48.5% and the lowest in South and West Asia at 23.1%) SO in my theory they are so intellectually underchallanged, that they develop an obsession with details :D

But yeah the film is respectful towards the character of Priscilla, who came herself to the premiere, because the rape scene with Elvis is not depicted. It's still thou not really moving me in any way. Like I end up with the same feeling, while watching the film, I wanna kick Priscillas ass and tell her to leave and have her youth and not be in this prison. But it's not my position and as my experience being a human in this planet, not everybody want to be saved, like you can only help someone in a toxic relationship if the person asks and wants your help. So the film is evoking again those princess peach thoughts within me. I wish for Sofia Coppola to make once a film about a women, who doesn't live in a prison and maybe saves herself. Within this, babes be strong be brave out there and take care.

Horsegirl release new single ‘World Of Pots and Pans’

Chicago band Horsegirl have had an electric start to 2022 beginning with the announcement of their debut album, Versions of Modern Performance, out June 3 via Matador. Now, they continue on that trajectory with the release of new single and lyric video, ‘World of Pots and Pans’. Following the propulsive ‘Anti-glory’, ‘World of Pots and Pans’ has a rough, blown-out pop charm. Horsegirl say: "'World of Pots and Pans' is the first love song Horsegirl has ever written—or the closest thing to it. We wrote it in Penelope’s basement while preparing to leave for our first ever tour. The lyrics, inspired by the misinterpretation of a Television Personalities lyric, imagine a (possibly unrequited) romance unfolding through references to Tall Dwarfs, Belle & Sebastian, and The Pastels.”

- percy is like the best older brother type of friend bc he’s very protective & kind & gives great advice while also being literally the funniest chaotic sarcastic dumbass alive and that’s what hazel loves about him

- they are both pranksters and they get into so much trouble at the roman camp (hazel + jason + frank would do pranks and never get caught) but percy is just there to have a laugh and doesn’t care if he gets caught so hazel lives out her dumbass dreams w him

- jason + frank + percy are like hazel’s big brothers and will kick anyone’s ass for her just saying!

- also hazel & percy are horsegirls/horseboys respectively and blackjack + arion are always around them and all everyone else can hear is neighing but those two are so *done* bc all the horses do is curse and yell at each other (percy & hazel find it hilarious)

- percy likes to hang out w hazel at the mall and they like to go shopping & out for food together!

- they also always go to the movies together to watch Terrible horror movies that aren’t even scary and like to just make fun of them while munching on nachos and drinking their sodas

- hazel is pure and sweet and so badass that everyone is like omfg we wanna be her friend! and percy is like yes !!!!! she’s amazing he’s ALWAYS hyping her up and vice versa! she talks about how friendly and hilarious percy is bc most people are intimidated by him at first (resting bitch face) and they seem like an unlikely friendship but they’re literally the best bro’s

- they’re also very in tune w the other person’s moods/emotions and always know when the other person needs space/needs a hug! they give great advice and always keep it blunt/honest and they’re like the best big bro/lil sis duo

- also hazel likes to knit so she made him a pastel baby blue cable knit sweater that he ALWAYS wears and he made her a wonky scarf (he tried his best he really did) in a beautiful scarlet red color and she giggled when she saw it but she does wear it and appreciates his effort! he asks her if she can teach him and now they have their own lil knitting club (jason & frank have also joined)

- and hazel wears percy’s hoodies bc they’re very warm & comfy and percy got a friendship bracelet that hazel made for him and he cried for a good 15 minutes while hugging hazel and she was just Squished against his chest but she felt his friendship & love :’)

- basically i really love and appreciate their friendship and they’re just so Soft!!! i love them so much <3
