I did all three because I really want to explore his character ❤️

He takes sips from drinks when offered, same with cigarettes, but doesn't go out of his way to drink and smoke.

The only time he'd properly drank to the point of being drunk was when his girlfriend broke up with him, and she offered him a bottle. He threw up in her sink and refused to drink since. (at least before the war)

In Tulsa, his smoking habit increased as he actually got hooked because of his limited interactions with Ponyboy, who'd offered him a smoke each time they hung out. (Thanks, Pony.)

Unlike his older brother Rye, who was born in Poland originally, Mj was born and raised in Chicago. The family lived in a neighbourhood that has a fairly big polish community. They had moved near the Polish people by chance, which turned out to be a great thing when they all acted like a big family to each other. His little sister was also born there and they lived there until 1963-4, when they moved to Tulsa.

He loves his hometown and didn't want to leave it at all. He still grows homesick for it, but refuses to visit it. He's afraid of what his old neighbours think of him.

To Mj, the most important thing to him is his family. Which is then heart breaking when 1) his dad dies. 2) his brother dies. 3) mother blames him and 4) leaves him and takes his little sisters so he's alone in Tulsa.

Also his (ex) girlfriend who never leaves his mind. He actually kinda needs to get a life, actually.

Also Also polish culture! Unfortunately once he moved to Tulsa, he never got to learn any more of his culture.

Can't believe Bruce canonically picked up a random 12yo homeless child who had no intent to become a vigilante and suddenly thrust Robin onto him without asking if that's what he wanted because he missed Dick (whom he fired because being Robin was too dangerous) and people still act like any take that's not "all the Batkids became vigilantes on their own completely independent of Bruce (who tried so hard to stop them but sadly just couldn't do it)" is a complete idiotic bad-faith take and that you're crazy if you disagree with people saying that Bruce has never ever absolutely NEVER picked up a kid for the purpose of making them into a vigilante.
