I think it makes sense for no chemistry reads because there wasn't really a plan for who would end up with who until later on they were teasing all the pairings to see which one worked and which didn't obviously Jiara blew them all out of the water to me it's the best ship on the show.

Yeah I think so too but too many shows skip chemistry reads in general for ships they know are going to be the main couple. Or if they don’t they do one and don’t read the results right lmao. I think the biggest mistake with pokie wasn’t the experimenting with it; it was having Kie kiss him at the end of S1 and writing themselves and us into a hole they had to then write themselves out of. And I think they wrote their S2 arc well overall but absolutely no one wanted that much screentime of pokie.

I think it’s also different to have a shitty ship for a while on a show that has 22 episode seasons. When you have ten episodes there’s a lot less room for getting back out.
