I mean, is not like I could asure you since I'm just a reader like you, but as someone who spent her whole highschool reading/watching shounens, I suppose he's likely to get one.

But I think is probably it'll take a long time until we reach there.

Shounens tend to either show the backstory since the very beginning (like Naruto, for example) or make hints you sometimes don't even notice is a hint until way later and hit you with the backstory after a lot of stuff has already happened and the story is reaching the climax (like Assassination Classroom, Fairy Tail, Gintama, and there was one really interesting manga that made me ball my eyes out with tears, but I can't remember what it was for my life).

Since we got hints and a vague description, I think it's the later. Also because so far Satoru Nii hasn't had let things up to air, so is not likely he won't go into Sakura's backstory. I mean, je could make Sakura go "my past doesn't matter, this is my life now" kind of thing and not show it, but I doubt it. It would be kind of a waste after building up so much emotional understanding between him and other characters' issues/backstories.

For example, at the shishitoren arc, he himself compared himself to Choji, and how he could've end up like him if he reached his goal without any other purpose: alone and empty. He also yelled Togame about how he wouldn't change who he was for anyone, and later we learned about Tsubaki's backstory and his resolution to be himself.

There's more but I don't remember quite well and I don't want to say bullshit.

The point is, I think Satoru Nii is cooking something, but it will take time. Just now we're entering the first arc in which family appears to be part of the main topic (Hajime's excepted), so it either starts revealing here or it will take more time.

Personally I think Sakura is going to hint at his past again here and his backstory will come later on, probably with someone tied to his past appearing. I have no evidence except the patterns shounen anime/manga tends to exhibit.

Xavier

Xavier, who isn't very talkative himself, falls in sync with you quite fast after you meet. At first you are wary of his intense gaze and the extended silence it carries as he observes you from a comfortable distance. But one day, you begin to look back at him, if only out of defiance, and that's when you start noticing.

Small head movements to question or to confirm, taps on the table and later on your arm or shoulder. Text messages with lots of emojis, shared playlists for different moods. And if all else fails, a gentle squeeze of your hand, to let your Evol do the talking for you.

He has been listening all along.

In comes one of those days. The mission goes well, but you are left dead tired, barely able to make it to your apartment. Xavier escorts you home, and as he wishes you goodnight, you grab his sleeve. Whatever emotion is showing on your face is enough to make him melt, and he turns back around, petting your hair.

"Got it, got it," he chuckles and lets himself be led to the couch, where you snuggle against him after putting on a random cartoon on the TV.

He is warm, and his hoodie is soft against your cheek. You listen to his slowing heartbeats as his eyelids begin to droop, his arm a solid anchor around your shoulders. At that moment you realize that this is how you want all of your missions to end: in this safe, comforting warmth.

"Xavier?" you call out, twiddling with the pullstrings of his hoodie. He stirs against you and lets out a questioning hum. You lift your head to look him in the eyes, and see them shining with something you dare to hope is adoration. He tightens his arm around you and patiently waits.

"Thank you," you finally decide to tell him, knowing that he knows it's about much more than today's mission.

"Think nothing of it, starlight," he murmurs and rests his forehead against yours.

Zayne

You forgot that Zayne knows. Of course he knows, that man doesn't forget anything, annoying as it may be sometimes. During your first appointment with him you try to bring it up, hoping that your old familiarity with him would help ease the tension. It doesn't, and in the end you have to resort to gesturing at your chart, cheeks burning in humiliation.

"I remember," Zayne tells you, his voice quiet, "don't worry about it. Just find a way that's comfortable for you."

On a rational level, it makes sense. He is a dedicated, renowned doctor who must have had first-hand experience with others like you beforehand. But on an emotional level you are on your toes for a good while. Zayne has a tendency to scold you about your heart condition, your recklessness on missions, your bad eating and sleeping habits. You just kind of... assume that this would be next on the list.

But the insistence never comes. Instead, there is a notepad and and a pen on his desk one day. The pen has a tiny snowglobe at the end that glitters prettily when you write with it. Zayne makes no mention of it when you come in, nor when you pick the pen up and start writing.

Afterwards you take that notepad everywhere you go with him. You write down your comments to him, your observations of the world around you, your feelings that are too precious to send him over text messages. You revel in the tiny upwards curl of his lips when he reads everything over, the hint of mirth in his hazel eyes that makes your heart flutter.

"Care to show me what you have written today?" he asks you one night as he is driving you back home from a restaurant. The car is standing still in traffic, and you are finishing your notes on that night's menu selection (the chocolate pudding had been especially delicious). You lean back on the passenger seat and look at his handsome profile, smiling to yourself.

"No, but I can tell you, Dr. Zayne."

You see his eyes widen in surprise and he glances at you, but before he can reply the traffic lurches forward. Zayne returns his eyes on the road, and reaches out to grab your hand in his. He rubs his thumb over your knuckles and your stomach does small flips as you see him smile.

"I'd love that."

Rafayel

"Not one to talk? That's okay cutie, I can manage for the both of us."

And that he does. At first you aren't sure if the eccentric artist even wants or needs you to talk; Rafayel can talk circles around just about anyone, rightfully smug about his captivating voice and demeanor. You find yourself being envious of his natural charm, sure that you could hardly measure up to him in this regard.

But the more you spend time with him, the more you observe his mannerisms when he talks to you (yes, to you, not just at you): the glances over his shoulder, his body turning towards you as his hands punctuate his speech. The way he cocks his head to the side and studies your face with that easy smile on his lips, reading your expressions and hums as he does. Resting his fingertips on the pulse point of your wrist and gently tucking your hair behind your ear as you fight a petulant blush under his curious eyes.

Bodyguard, bah. You aren't sure Rafayel really knows, or cares, what that job actually entails. Then again, it's not like you had to stay, yet you did. There is something mesmerizing about Rafayel, his eyes as deep as the oceans and brilliant as the galaxies, and in between scoffing at his antics or bickering with him through texts, you find yourself being pulled in further and further as if lured by a siren song.

"Do you want to learn how to paint, sunshine?"

This time he doesn't give even the slightest pretense for the date. You have long ceased to care, feeling warm but bold standing in his studio as he guides the brush in your hand across the canvas. It's raining outside, the pitter patter mixing in with the gentle swishing of your brush and his bare feet padding against the tile floor. Time seems to fly by as you recreate the azure sea in front of you.

As the rain starts to ease down and the clouds part just enough for you to see the waves again, you step in front of the floor-length window and gaze out. As you watch swaying seas, your eyes suddenly widen.

"Rafayel, come look! Dolphins!"

You don't have time to be surprised by your own reaction as he strides next to you, his hand finding the small of your back. He leans his chin on your shoulder, and you can feel his lips curling into a smile.

"Now isn't that a nice surprise," he says, "I wouldn't mind this happening again."

You nod, the words failing you once more, but he is so close he must feel your answer in your heartbeat.

Sylus

If Sylus could take it back, he would. He would destroy planets and steal stars to redo your first meeting. He wouldn't assume anything, wouldn't take out his frustrations on you, wouldn't push and push until the truth screams in his face.

Because your eyes remain vacant of any recognition, any warmth he grew to know so long ago, and he only made it worse: he forced your voice out of your mind when your mouth refused to cooperate. He took it as defiance, a personal challenge, when it was anything but. It took an outsider to tell him to stop hounding you, and he hasn't been able to forget since.

Through what can only be described as trials you finally make it to the auction and beyond, and with Sylus's help you get your hands on the Aether Core. He does not know what you see in the vision the Deepspace Tunnel shows you, but whatever it is, it creates an opening. It lets you resonate with him, lower your guard and accept his help. And Sylus holds onto that chance like a drowning man.

From then on out, every day is dedicated to making up to you. Even if his words are rough, there is now softness lacing his features whenever he looks at you. Tenderness, the origin of which you do not recognize, and yearning that makes it hard to stay mad at him.

He may not beg for forgiveness out loud, but it is there in every question, every request, every wish.

"Will you have dinner with me tonight, sweetie?"

I'm sorry I treated you like that. I didn't realize. I should have.

"Mephisto brought you two necklaces. Show him which one you prefer."

I'm sorry I expected more than you could possibly offer. It isn't your fault you don't remember.

"Text me when you get home. The roads are slippery today."

I'm sorry I made you uncomfortable.

Your phone plays a familiar tune and you pick it up to see a video call coming from Sylus. It has become a habit of his whenever you are back in Linkon. He tells you he doesn't mind to be the one talking: he just wants to see your face.

"Hello sweetie, thank you for picking up. I called to say I'm sorry for missing our movie night. Some fool tried to blow up the armory in the north and I had to oversee the clean up."

You roll your eyes and sigh in mock exasperation. Sylus smiles back at you.

"I promise to make it up to you. Just tell me what you'd like."

"Anything we do together is fine, Sylus," you tell him and watch in mild amusement as his eyebrows raise and mouth freezes mid-sentence. "And stop... stop apologizing so much. Okay?"

It's not often the leader of Onychinus is rendered speechless, and you can't help a small giggle escaping your lips. It is your time to adore him, just for a moment.

I thought I'd respond this way since I've rather liked being able to respond in chunks throughout the ask! ^_^

I saw the ask about bear related nicknames for Oswin, and I imagined my own MC (Winfred, I had mentioned him before) trying to call him any of that. But it doesn't work for him. Mostly because Winfred is taller and broader than Oswin, so if anything, Winfred resembles a bear more. A teddy bear, perhaps, given how sweet and kind he is, but a bear nonetheless.

I remember your Winfred! I love that, lol. So Oswin can be the honey to Winfred's bear?

Also, on a similar line of thought, I always think it's hilarious but very cute how protective the group is of my MC. Because, sure, Winfred is in a terrible unfair situation. But they don't know that at the beginning (except for Oswin), and my MC surely doesn't look weak nor frail. So it's funny to read how they all want to protect him so much. Yet, it's also so endearing. Winfred is such a sunny kind of character, I do imagine he is hard not to love.

That is adorable. They are all convinced that no matter how someone appears, they deserve a hand up when faced with troubles. Zahn is like an angry kitten putting on a brave face for Winfred, lol.

Speaking of love (I know I'm rambling at this point, sorry), I am heartbroken for Winfred. Because he used the chance to confess his feelings, and Oswin stopped him. And I don't know how Winfred would process that. Not entirely at least.

I've seen that theme in a few asks. I completely feel that, it's valid for MC's to feel heartbroken or rejected. It'll play out though and on the way home, Winfred will get to figure out how he feels about that.

For one, I know he won't force the topic again. He is understanding that Oswin needs time to tell him everything, so he'll understand he doesn't have to speak about love with Oswin just yet. However, I do imagine he could end up feeling resigned. In the sense he would interpret Oswin refusal not as Oswin feeling guilty about being loved by him, but rather as a declaration of an obvious fact: Oswin doesn't love him (which we know it isn't true, but Winfred doesn't know that). And since my Winfred's heart is wholly devoted, entirely and irrevocably owned by Oswin... It means Winfred probably would accept he'll never experience romantic love.

Awe, he's really going to go through it then. That is sweet, and it sounds to me like they sort of love in the same deep way.

Now, this is tragic and all, but I do imagine a funny scenario where Winfred —convinced Oswin doesn't, can't and will not ever love him— will try to find a partner that could make Oswin happy. Assuming Winfred survives, of course. Mostly because Winfred loves Oswin so much, that he prefers to see him happy with someone else than miserable. And maybe, if Oswin finds someone to love, then if Winfred died he would not feel as much pain, or at least would have someone to support him... I realize this stopped being funny to turn sad, guess I'm too fond of angst to stop myself.

LOL It's a sweet notion even if there is an underlying sadness to it! Oswin would be so torn up about that too.

In any case, I know you released chapter 5 recently. But I feel I need more and want to read chapter 6 as soon as possible. Especially so because the conclusion of chapter 5 shattered my expectations of how the story was going to go. I expected the journey to last until MC found a cure, not that they would return home. And that's not taking about the magic stuff that's going on. There is so much to learn about this world, and I'm hooked.

I miiiight have an outline going already.... :D I am really excited to write it too! I need to make some corrections to chapter 5 of course still, but I can't help but outline 6 to satisfy the "itch." The trip home is just to re-group though, so never fear, Winfred will be off to find answers again after a plan is made. I'm glad you love learning more about the world too, because there's some really fun info coming up! ^_^

So about the king, from what you said he was negletful, but was he cruel? Since MC is female, does he sees a strong resemblens with the Queen? What does he plans to do with the succession? Does he want to skip MC and hand over the Kingdom to possible future grandchildren?

Gonna put this info under a read more with a content warning of child neglect/abuse so please read at your own discretion

I believe the king is both neglectful and cruel, or maybe saying that he is neglectful to the point of cruelty.

The king was in love with the Queen to the point of like obsession, to be honest. Point blank he did not want children at all but station demands it of him and more importantly his wife, the Queen, wanted you and he would never have refused her anything. You were a convenient thing to appease his advisors and wife. Furthermore, the Queen was beloved by the people and your birth taking her away makes the people around you, generally, unkind as well so few call him out.

I cannot stress enough the neglect that comes from the king. Slight spoiler, but once the attendants realize the Queen has died the MC is haphazardly just put on a table while they try to resuscitate. The king busts into the room, eyes only for the Queen, and deludes himself into thinking she’s fine and begins to attack anyone who comes near her. This is also kind of the moment you see that the people fear the king more than they will ever care for you.

Fero, Alek’s father, is the only reason the MC makes it out alive that day.

The common theme of your childhood is that you are neglected to the point that people may forget that you’re there at all, more so when you’re like 6+, and you may go hungry or unbathed. If it weren’t for portraits, you would barely know what your father looks like. MC is basically unsupervised but trapped in the castle’s walls.

The MC does look very similar to their mother, at least shares key features, and the king can’t stand to look at you for it so some of the neglect is due to that but a lot of that is just pure resentment because he didn’t want you but he did was her (your mother).

It’s only when the King is up there in years, when you’re in your mid-twenties, that it’s brought to his attention that he really needs to think about succession. Because he cared not to be around you, still doesn’t, you are not in any way prepared or fit to rule anything. You should have been preparing your whole life for the role but you’ve kind of just been running wild within the castle walls and really only doing what you care to do.

The king, with the Queen gone, cares about nothing but his reign and he’ll be damned to hand the crown to a distant relative. Like it or not, you are the only blood he has. The suitors are people he personally approved to really be the only ones he could see running the show or would have the training/education to kind of competently rule fairly. The only time he really sets his sights on you is when he needs to use you as a pawn in his game.

Truthfully the only kind thing he’s done for you is give you a small power of choice.

Okay so! To begin with, Ale is panromantic and absolutely romantic~

He's flamboyant and has a way with words, so it's no surprise that he can flirt his way through any crowd. Ale is definitely all about that theatrical flair and grandiosity of love. He knows what to say, what to do, all of it—a certified charmer—if you will.

This kid had crushes that's for sure. And you bet he has flirted with them 😆

However, Ale also knows that something as beautiful as love shouldn't be rushed and he's more than willing to wait for the right person to come.

Here's the funny thing (very cliche, too), he met the love of his life when he least expected it. And suddenly, he went from being a flamboyant charmer to a stuttering mess.

Now, I present to you the person that Ale fell in love with:

Since Ale is an OC and Val is my MC, they met during their fifth year when she attended Hogwarts.

For Ale, it was a love at first sight when he saw her beat Seb's ass in that DADA duel 😆

They eventually became best friends while Ale kept his feelings for her (more like he was obvious, she was oblivious) knowing that she's demiromantic and wasn't looking for any romantic relationship any time soon.

Ale loves poetry and journaling, so after he met Val, she became a frequent entry in his works. Allow me to share an excerpt from his journal:

“At first glance, you may appear cold, a fortress built of icy walls, but how dare you shatter that veneer with the warmth you so effortlessly harbor? With just a smile—shy yet reassuring—you melt the very thoughts I thought I had all figured out. Now that you've read it, it's safe to say that they're ✨soulmates✨ but not in a way that their romance is written in stone. Sure, they will meet every lifetime; I made their soul connection to be undeniably present whenever they meet but I've given them the free will to pursue it in any relationship they would like, whether it's purely platonic or romantic or both!

One of their similarities is that they're willing to wait for the right person. While their key difference once they found the right person is that Val is willing to give it time and let the relationship grow first. She's also more focused on herself since she's aware of all the traumas that are in dire need of healing first before diving into a relationship. As for Ale, he likes being in solitude but once he finds the right person, he'll basically offer his whole heart to them. As much as he's passionate but he's also stubborn and it so happened that being loyal in love is one of them.

I think one of the recurring jokes about Ale that me and my friends have is "How come he is still single?" and then we would collectively think of Val 🤣

Since I don't want to spoil it further, the last thing I can say is that these two never became a thing during Hogwarts so 👀 purely platonic between them at that time! At least that's how they chose to treat each other 🫢

So I’ve decided that I’m going to into dump about my Mc(since like four people mentioned they’d read it lol), with the inclusion of pictures, I’ll try to keep it organized, making a list that goes, basic info, details, relationships, and add on’s, but I’m not that best with organization especially when it comes to my own characters.

This will be a mixture of canon stuff to the OM universe and my own stuff, I’ll go into my own personal headcanons and junk to. Fair warning this IS going to be long. Sorry if she seems a little bit to much of a main character lol. I tend to go overboard a lot of the time.

(ALSO I did redesign her basic look because I wasn’t really feeling it)

Basic info: so to start out, My Mc’s full name is Opaline L. Shards, though she introduces herself as Opal, since she thinks Opaline is a mouthful. She uses she/they pronouns, and is Pansexual. Throughout the series she is 21-24 years old, she was born and raised in Oregon state. She is about 5’5, 5,7 with her skates on. Her family consists of her mom(divorced) and her two other siblings. She LOVES anything and everything colorful and shiny and is generally curious.

Details/facts:

Opal is mostly blind, as in she is missing an eye and already needed glasses before losing said eye, so obviously it’s hard for her to see things. She prefers to work off of muscle memory and the blobby shapes that are people to her, which that is also why she likes/prefers things to have color to them. She though of course does have glasses, but prefers to wear them when she’s alone to work on things in her room so then no one can see her full face.. so she has a lot of homework. But is still fortunately a straight A student. Upon her very first night staying in the HOL, she waited until everyone was asleep to just, walk around and know her surroundings, who’s rooms were who’s and what was where. She removes her skates and anything clanky on her person before going, to avoid being caught ofc.

Her and her sheepiness

I like to imagine she isn’t a 2ft tall sheep 100% of the time throughout(because imagine trying to work at a desk or navigate massive school hallways as a stuffed animal), and that it’s really just a little enchantment that was put onto her to keep her safe, like a spidey sense, if there is danger around in RAD or in town or anywhere at all, she’ll POOF! Into a sheep. But instead of it working off of if they themselves feel threaten it just works off of if there is something that plans on hurting her around. So when that first day scene of over hearing two demons talking about eating her right then and there it’s just,

“Hey isn’t that the human exchange student? Let’s go eat then there’s no one arou-“ POOF! Scitter scitter “… what”

Speaking of RAD, clearly she isn’t wearing the uniform in its full-couch cushion looking entirety. She had texted with Barabatos to ask basic questions about dress code and asked if she could do add ons or remove a piece or two, and I’m guessing since thirteen basically mangled her uniform and didn’t get any shit for it, her wearing a sweater instead of the jacket is more then ok.

Speaking of her uniform, her hair is tied up, which isn’t really that big of a deal, but I like to imagine Lucifer does her hair, why? Well, her hair is a fluffy mess, and she really only brushes it in the morning, so Lucifer stops her from leaving first day and tied her hair up so then she looked presentable as to not embarrass him. Why did I make this a thing? Because I think it would be funny as hell that during the events in the beginning of season one, no matter what happened the night before, no matter how much they hated each other at the moment, every morning she went, knocked on his bedroom door, he opened silently, she handed him a hair tie and her hair brush, turned around, he did her hair, then she left silently and he continued to get ready to leave. Because I’m a sucker for the whole “we hate each other but we’ve made a routine and we’d rather die then not follow a routine”. (Opal also cannot handle when there is a change in any part of her unwritten routine or else she’ll be off for the rest of the day.)

Her pact Marks:

So I guess I have a reason for each of the placements/designs for the marks, for starters they’re so big because I can imagine since it’s pacts with the avatars of sun themselves the pact marks are a bit more dramatic(also I can imagine the pact marks are usually black/grey, they only glow with their sin when that magic is being used or the sun is being felt, ex: opal is pissed off, wrath glows, opal feels prideful of something she did, pride glows, ect.)

So Pride is placed on her chest, like puffing one’s chest out in pride. I just added on more stars and stuff to make it look fancier

Greed is placed on her right hand, or her stealing hand since its her dominant hand. The dots within the ribboned design represent gold coins and stuff, the mark swirls all the way up to her elbow then stops.

Envy is on her lower back over her tailbone, it’s a spot that’s a bit more out of place and is most likely to be covered by clothes then the others, so even the mark as a reason to be envious. I just added onto the water droplet and arrow design and made it stretch more onto her front as if it’s trying to be noticed more.

Wrath is on her left hand, being left handed is associated with the devil and junk so by default I think it would be cool it it landed there. And also it’s for throwing hands. The triangle design represents satans spiky tail. The mark trails up to the elbow then stops, just like greed

Lust is placed over her uterus and creeps up her stomach, I think that’s obvious. But the mark itself is in the shape of an upside down uterus. I tried to make lust look like the more elegant of the pact marks.

Gluttony is on her upper/center back because it’s a place where fat tends to accumulate more. (I promise it’s not a “big back” joke btw, I’ve had this mark placement way before it even got to be popular), a lot of the add ons are just to match the others, BUT I added four k-nine teeth, two on the top and two on the bottom. cause, yk, you need teeth to eat.

And finally sloth is on her outer left thigh, I… don’t have much of a reason as to why I put it there, apart from the fact I had nowhere else I could think of. I could say that it’s because you don’t use your legs when you’re lazy or it’s the plushest part of the body, but yk. The add ons I did was just add two more stars and two crescent moon shapes.

Relationships:

So for relationships with the other characters I did this chart I used off of google since it was the only one I could find with all the characters(I wanted to make my own but by the time I moved onto making the chart it was around 2 am and I was tired). I will explain every relationship going from brothers, demons, angels, then thirteen and Solomon.

Lucifer: she personally views Lucifer in a fatherly way, she grew up with her dad only in her life for her first 5 years of being alive and he wasn’t great. So when she did meet Lucifer for the first time not only did he vaguely look like her dad but also acted a bit like him. Which to her was more then enough reason to not like him. But over time it went from “ugh he reminds me of my dad…” to “oh! That’s my dad!^•^”. He is the first person she goes to when she needs assistance or guidance and she cares about him a lot, she has forced him to take breaks through bringing him tea or a few snacks and sitting down with him to have a conversation. And it doesn’t really help that he clearly favors her, she is very honest and polite, so I can imagine that warmed him up to her.(honestly I kind of wish there were more platonic fics with Lucifer Bc in my own brain he’s literally mothering, but alas,)

Mammon: so just from the chart, he is her best friend and also partner. I know it was probably unnecessary to add the best friend and partner arrows because your partner should be your best friend, but I added it anyways. Opal is probably a little to in love, but so is he. She goes along with pretty much everything he wants to do because she either one: wants to have the learning experience, or two: want to spend time with him. They often sleep in each others rooms, they rotate out, some days they sleep in his and others they sleep in hers. When they want more privacy or just to be alone with each other I can imagine they go to his room most of the time. She absolutely steals his clothes for herself whenever he’s gone during the night because she can’t help but be clingy, and you know she’s tackling him the moment he walks into the HOL. Overall they are both stupidly in love with each other.

Leviathan: levi is definitely one of her best friends, she loves his room since she really adores anything ocean. She likes to go to his room when she’s feeling overwhelmed or like to go find him during social events when overwhelmed since it’s most likely guaranteed he’ll also be hiding. She loves listening to him ramble about anime and stuff that he bought recently, and of course she likes gaming with him. And that one morning when levi was complaining about opal constantly shooting him in game is definitely common for her to do. If she see’s he’s on a online game she will join and mess with him. Mammon has probably woken up to her on her laptop cackling because she keeps killing levi in game.

Satan: once again someone she’s close with and would consider a best friend, I can imagine they do homework together often, and he wouldn’t mind reading things out for her. She is kind of an animal magnet, so whenever they both go out there is a high chance she’ll suddenly be holding a stray cat and they’ll both stop for like an hour to give it so much attention.

Asmo: another bestiee, after gaining a pact with asmo she definitely gets a little closer to him because of the fact that he does more “girly” things. They go shopping together and she lets him dress her up and style her hair. He is actually the only other person apart from mammon that knows she’s missing an eye, why? Well because her natural hair color is actually black, and she thankfully befriended him before her roots fully started to grow in so one melt down later she asked him for help with dying her hair, which, he’s also the only one that knows red isn’t her natural color.

Beel: she was very close with beel pretty much right off the bat, since she was already feeding him. She’s a bit of a picky eater, so she separates some foods from the foods she will definitely eat, she feels bad about leaving a bunch of left over food so beel is the garbage disposal friend. So every single “are you going to eat that?” Is always met with a cheery “nope! You can have it!”. And canon Bc of the chats, she helps him when he works out, like sitting on his back during pushups or just simply hyping him up.

Belphie: she is still very unsure with him. Though she knows he feels guilt about LITERALLY KILLING HER. She hasn’t quite forgiven him, though she is still polite and helps him out when he needs it. She isn’t close with him in the slightest though, if you asked her to describe him she would just say “uh… he sleeps!” And that’s it. Though of course she’s probably still around him often due to beel and belphie being twins and the anti Lucifer League 

Dia: another best friend! Despite the fact that they don’t hang out often, they still try their hardest to chit chat! Like her going over to have tea with him occasionally on his free days, she talks about how things are going at the HOL, with school, and other little hobbies, and she lets him complain about work and talk about other things. They are literally sunshine character+sunshine character. It’s inevitable that they would be close! She had also used her first bit of grimm to buy him roller skates! She got them custom made and surprised him with them because he mentioned that he liked hers and was really intrigued by them, so after buying him the skates they skated around for a while, linked arms and her teaching him the basics.

Barbatos: barbatos is someone she felt like she could trust right away but she was also intimidated by him. Though she ignored the intimidation and just continued treating him as normal. She constantly wants to help him and feels a little bad whenever he does something for her or gives her something. She really loves fruit so whenever she’s visiting dia there’s always a plate out for her, and whenever Barb refills it she’s always like “oh! Thank you- you don’t have to though I’m probably eating to much anyways” “nonsense, please continue to enjoy yourself” “ok:,)”

Mephistopheles: they are both unsure of each other, though he is very open about the fact that her, I am a strong believer that it’s probably just a mask. Despite rarely seeing each other she is very respectful towards him and offers assistance with smaller things, if he ever asked for help with anything relating to the news paper club she would absolutely be HYPED.

Simeon: she loves seeing simeon when she can! She thinks he’s really chill and likes being in the presence of another creative, they’ll often talk about things related to writing or drawing, really it’s just back and fourth questions. But whenever she goes down to purgatory hall she loves to just sit and talk about whatever comes to mind while drinking tea.

Luke: that is her little brother and no one can tell her otherwise. But in reality she knows what it’s like to be the youngest in a room and not be taken as seriously, so she makes sure his voice is heard(or at least he feels like he is heard.) and she is decently protective of him. Her mom actually owns a bakery so she also knows a lot about baking! I like to imagine that when they both bake something they exchange their goods with each other, and other times when she’s at purgatory hall they bake together.

Raphael: she doesn’t know him very well but still finds him pleasant!

Thirteen: she thinks thirteen is super cool! She definitely unintentionally boosts her ego, a lot. Opal is the type to speak her mind(or just think out loud), so it’s very common that when thirteen show’s off something she made or something she plans to make it’s met with a “oh! You’re so cool thirteen,”. Opal really enjoys having another fem presenting person around to, though they don’t see a lot of each other.

Solomon: she definitely appreciates having another human around(even if solomon hardly even counts as a human being anymore,) she sees him as more of an older brother to be completely honest, an older brother that’s MUCH older then her, like an older brother that already had a wife and kids when she was born kind. So she introduces him to trends and stuff and they reference random things to each other randomly. I can imagine they both like to mess with demons by basically doing improv in public. “Hey has your skin started shedding with month yet?” “No… but I can feel the skin on my face starting to dry up, I only have so much moisturizer,” “here I can get you some extra lotion if you need it,” “Aw, solomon you’re such a Girls girl!” Or “Solomon, was it batman or Superman who helped in ww2?” “Superman,” “thanks, I always forget” BUT they do have a mutual respect for each other, solomon is more then aware that opal may turn out to be stronger then him, and opal is aware that solomon has more knowledge then her and is strong.

Add ons/more background on Opal:(some violent stuff is mentioned and a very main character ass backstory fyi so be ready)

So let’s talk about her family and what life was like before RAD, there’s her mom and her two siblings. Her mom’s name is Mary, she is a shorter women but is very sweet, she owns a bakery called “charlottes web”. then her two older siblings who are twins, Diana and Travis, they are her half siblings, so they don’t share a father. Both of her siblings dabble in magic and area little well known. Travis is more silent and looks menacing but is secretly just a very anxious person. He looks very gothic but underneath every hoodie is a bright pink anime shirt from an anime he likes called “origami kittens”(my own thing), an anime about a teenage girls origami kitten coming to life and being her friend! Every episode a new one with a new personality is made. Diana is very rough and tough, she is rowdy and very tomboyish, her and Travis bicker a lot but are literally inseparable. They both love their little sister to pieces. But, none of them are apart of the descended bloodline of Lilith, her dad is actually one of the descendants.

Her dad was originally very kind and curious, like her, but when Mary was pregnant with Opal, he started to get into some shit he should have and suffered a head injury that caused a whole personality shift, he got very boastful and prideful, and wanted everything his way or no way. He still loved his family dearly but grew very violent very quickly. One night when opal was five Mary and him got into an argument in the middle of the night, opal had walked downstairs to see what the noise was about and in a fit of rage her father threw her through a closed window, causing a mild concussion. Of course nearly immediately Mary divorced his ass and that was the last time Opal ever saw her dad, no one ever ended up learning why he had changed. He passed away when she was about 12.

Growing up she was very curious and also energetic, but, because I love this kind of stuff, she indulged in the seven sins. She had a short fuse, she had a bit of an ego, she shop lifted sometimes, that kind of stuff. But one summer when she was 14 she went to stay with her grandma out of state and met her girlfriend Elora, and let me tel you they were IN LOVE, though the town in which Elora lived in had a lot of supernatural drama, so they both kind of became ghost busters/mystery inc type people. Though they had a lot of fun doing so and had a blast learning about that kind of crap. Eventually opals family moved in with her grandma and opal started going to school with Elora, unfortunately by the time that they had both turned 17 they were more public about their relationship, which is unfortunate because it was a very religious town. So some assholes had harassed them for a while before attacking them, Elora sadly did not make it and Opal in turn had lost her right eye. So she walked out of that experience with no girlfriend, no eye, and plenty of different types of trauma.

It took her a while to recover and she started to dye her hair and let it grow out, originally she had short hair with blue tips, but a lot of her hair was cut off, representing being stripped of her pride. Eventually once she was recovered physically and mentally she decided that she wanted to go back to school and decided to respond to a really good college that offered her a scholarship. But of course once she was classified as a student she ended up being picked for the exchange program and of course we all know what happens from then on.

Now onto some more light hearted stuff,

Obviously as I’ve stated she naturally dyed her hair red, mainly to separate herself from both her father and her past. She prefers to cover most her face with her hair and that simply just works because cartoon logic.

She is very silent, maybe even a little dumb at times, as in she has a hard time with things like social cues and when to quit. She is a straight A student because she easily jumps right into each class because she finds it very interesting! Like hell yeah she wants to learn about different demonic species! That’s so cool!

She doesn’t like drama though she loves talking about it, her and asmo definitely gossip to each other often and they keep tabs on everyone they talk about, one time they were both sitting at dinner, opal checked her D.D.D., gAsped, sent whatever she saw over to asmo, then made eye contact with him and motion for him to look at his own phone, he also gasps, and immediately they both leave the room to start talking.

I can also imagine that it was not KNOWN that she couldn’t see that well for a little while, until eventually there was maybe a small dinner party at dia’s castle, she mentioned that she was going to the rest room, then barbatos offered to lead her there, which in turn made a few of them look confused like “but they’ve been here before, why would you need to show them to the restroom?” “Ah, because they can’t see, why else?” “BARBATOS NO-“ then she has to awkwardly explain that she’s blinder then a bat after he apologizes to her. I’m sure some of them already knew but she did NOT want the other brothers to know because she knew damn well they would make a big deal out of it.

Alright, let’s get some pictures in here,

Starting off this is her bag! It’s older and she’s torn it a good few times, so she patches it up herself, obviously there’s a little sheep mc key chain that’s totally not a lesson 16 reference, she also has a little mc sheep pin, a random :3 face pin, a set it off pin and a destroy boys pin(two of my own personal favorite bands)

Next we have her D.D.D. And her headphones, she probably won both the case and headphones in a give away for some astronomy thing she is into, of course she added the Kirby sticker herself. But yeah.

Next is her ominously labeled journal, why did I label it as such? Well because she writes and draws some interesting stuff. The way she learns about things is to draw and dissect them in her brain along with a series of “what ifs” so one thing she ended up doing out of her own curiosity is pull a dungeon meshi and think “what if i drew the boys as different foods?” Which lead to her making detailed drawings of different parts of them as foods. Obviously she would never ever even think of doing such a thing, but her mind wanders. Apart from that the rest is a little normal, doodles of people and animals she’s seen, little diary entries, that kind of stuff.

Lastly there’s this necklace, seems a little random BUT, this is a reference to one of the beach events from the OG game, when mammon finds a shell and gives it to MC, obviously it wasn’t stated what type of shell it was, only that it was spiky, but opal most definitely kept it and turned it into a necklace she rarely wears.

Smaller stuff is that she loves fruit(as mentioned previously), like LOVES fruit. If there is cut fruit at a party she’s going to beat beel to it and eat as much as she can handle. And it actually sometimes works to her disadvantage, if for example, mammon wanted to go “look” around the demon lords castle, but opal is over here like “mams you know lucifer doesn’t want you to do that since you can’t keep your hands to yourself” giving her a plate of fruit not only will stop her from snitching, but will also keep her in one place silently until she’s done eating, because her brain is just “fruit fruit fruit fruit fruit- oh no more fruit- wait where’s my boyfriend- oh no.”

She also makes it her personal mission to pet everything that she can, street cats, people’s dogs, horses, you name it. So she makes it her mission to befriend that silly three headed dog in the basement, which she eventually does successfully by offering raw steaks and treats.

Along with that she likes to garden, but not like a normal person with fruit or flowers, but instead carnivorous plants. If she learns that there is a man eating plant that she can buy in town she is getting that plant, slapping a bow on it and falling it princess. I like to think that Lucifer eventually lets her take over a small part in the backyard of the HOL for her plants.

And she is very very clingy, but also hates being touched. So it’s kind of torture for her, because she would LOVE to get a hug from beel or let asmo paint her nails, but within her first year there she just doesn’t trust any of them enough to not hurt her. But mammon ends up being the exception, because as they get closer to each other she just can’t let go of him, ever. They’re always holding hands or linked arms, she’s always pressed up against his side or lowkey cuddling when they sit, and of course mammon would love the attention and would be equally as clingy.

Another thing is that she eventually learns shape shifting magic, mainly because she thinks it would be funny. One morning lucifer is acting weird, then all of a suddenly a second Lucifer walks in?? Lucifer #1 Bursts out into giggles and suddenly is opal.

She also binds her chest, cause anxiety and self confidence issues, along with anxiety she has a few scabs on her fingers at all times from digging her nails into the skin.

I am done as far as I’m aware, but I’ve been writing for like two hours with breaks, I appreciate if anyone actually read all of this all the way down to the bottom! I would’ve been more detailed in some areas but I realized that Opal feels like such a main character, I don’t want to change her lore but that doesn’t mean i’m not a little embarrassed about her lol. She’s my silly and I love her but I probably went overboard with all her fine details. Also here’s the full drawing of her

Please bear with me; I've been wrestling with this for a while. I am a reader who eyes Milo the most critically of the other potential ROs. And I've been trying to find out why, why am I so harsh at just the thought of Milo more than the others.

Been try to dig the core reason out and for me, I think its just personal bias; a betrayal of friendship just hurts the most for me to see and Milo was someone my MC saw as a friend. In hindsight, I guess the friendship was more one-sided than either me or my MC realized, but Milo was their friend in their eyes and their friend betrayed them. And that's why I see what he did in a worse light.

What you have said makes far more sense. That was kind of the vibe I was trying to go for with Milo to so I'm glad to see it has translated. An MC should absolutely feel some amount of betrayal because this was someone they trusted. This was a friend. And I am saying this all specifically for a book 1 MC. The tone may shift a bit for a book 2 MC due to actually remembering how MC got here.

What I am more pointing out to people (and I really don't think you fall into this category) is the blind rage people have for Milo and no one else. The complete "You did wrong and so I hate you and wish for you to die". One, I think people are missing the type of MC they are playing which is one with compassion. And before anyone comes for me, you can have compassion while still being strong and putting your foot down. And two, I think those kinds of people are only looking at their own initial reaction instead of everything else that might be going on. Now, I'm not saying that's wrong but it's been months for some of these asks at this point. LOL! And I am very much trying to encourage people to use a little bit more critical thinking when it comes to this. Because I didn't do this for shock value as some have tried to claim. This plot point was there from the beginning. And there is a reason for it.

But, anon, feeling hurt and betrayed? That was what I was going for. Because why wouldn't you? Not immediately forgiving, especially because you don't have all the info? Of course. You I think have actually gone through the gambit of thinking about this. I see nothing problematic with that and I'm kind of glad that a good amount of you readers are all in this boat because that's kind of where I wanted you to be.

Do u have any personal Kiran headcanons for your own Kiran?

okay. get ready.

my hc is that kiran is, objectively speaking, a demigod of sorts.

if you ever watched re:creators or read some stuff about the gnostics or even some christian studies level of stuff then it might make sense immediately what im talking about.

basically: kiran isn't human in the same way that everyone else in the FE verse is. i hc they're really just a regular everyday person, who happens to be a FE nerd with a good head on their shoulders whisked away into a the FEverse.

but kiran isn't really a god. in shorthand, they're similar to an angel or a deva. they dont partake in the creation of the FEverse (thats intsys' job), but they partake in the indulgence side of it all. and they might be interested enough that it becomes a media they happily consume. and that consumption of the media by the audience in turn supports the cycle of creation for more FE and thus FEverse gets expanded like that

very meta. and like in gnosticsm or even christianity the God that spawns creation and fate is unknowable. they are so unknowable that the creation they spawn doesnt even know if they are god or a creation capable of further creation, and creates more unknowing of the fact that these creation becomes actualized in some form out there in the vast infinity of whatever

so you know like. when we like blorbo/s so much we kinda. put them in situations. because. drama is fun. watching the blorbos struggle is fun. watching them overcoming stuff is fun.

and although i mention we partake as audiences, our combined taste does have influence over the process of creation. for example, awakening wouldnt exist if intsys didnt get desperate and shoved everything they think might appeal to audiences into the game, and thereby gain our approval, effectively granting the right for the rest of FE to exist.

so combine the two above and. isekai. oops.

kiran now looks like a psychopathic admirer of the FE heroes who gets their rocks off watching actual people struggle. woah! the bigger the struggle, the more entertaining it is, the better the payoff, and so it gets really difficult to be even normal about the heroes.

maybe kiran doesnt see FE characters as actualized people in the beginning. maybe they negotiate with themselves about the dissonance of it all. maybe at some point they realize, "this is fucked up, actually. i can't be gleeful about hearing these people talk about their troubles and worries while knowing what fates are in store for them."

but in some parts, that gleefulness doesnt ever go away. the fact that they know doesnt go away. the knowing in itself becomes a curse, and the distance is permanent. even if they like them, bc hey, the reason why they know all these info is bc kiran loves the blorbos enough to read up on all of them!

combined that with them being capable of summoning multiple copies of the same heroes. what does that mean for the relationship they might form? they know every marth, but does every marth know them? can the marths even begin to form a proper understanding or relationship? what if another marth comes? what then?

multiply that by like. 500. yikes.

the only exception to all of these are the Heroes natives ofc. alfonse and sharena is their strongest anchor because they can be normal with them. but, the siblings are not at all immune to the FEverse MC tropey fates that awaits, and so kiran's brain runs on predictive mode trying to avoid this and that.

but despite their best efforts, they cant prevent fate. they cant prevent gustav from dying and protect one of the few people they care about from getting hurt.

so they try even harder. bc their prev world has drilled in the idea of meritocracy so much, the idea of productivity at all cost under capitalism, and gave them the skillset to learn on the fly that failure is not an option.

kiran might have been a person with their life barely beginning back home.

in that world before, their identity was built up over 2 decades by the people surrounding them, blood or otherwise. and everything they interacted with there defined their identity. they can share and talk about things they encountered in games normally. there is normalcy here. logic here.

but once in the world of FEheroes, all that built up in 20 years becomes nothing and twisted. their identity folds into itself. their knowledge is a curse. their friendships are the weight of entire suns. there is insanity here, and indulgence and people with delicious dramatic stories to consume and hear at every corner if they so politely asked. in return, they would offer knowledge and counsel. (they wouldnt, ofc. so no heroes really gets to know them in full. look directly into the sun and be blinded, its kinda shitty like that)

and breidablik gives them power. to control, to contract, to plant suggestions. the heroes know, the specifics of the contract ofc, bc thats ethical. being morally upright to the heroic universe they love so much was never in question. so they play the part of the friendly summoner, let the heroes believe in their goodwill, bc the other option is to be truthful and get close and consume.

alfonse and sharena becomes their everything. jailer, god, summoner, champion, curse, blessing, friends, to protect at all cost, to give themselves to for whatever they desire. their reason for existing and continuing.

and if kiran fails, if alfonse or sharena gets twisted, then, well. the identity of evreyone's friendly cheerful summoner would have to get redefined, wouldnt it?

How the Ink Flows: 2024 scribbles by one Miss Lin ✨

Because my uni schedule has been kicking me in the butt constantly these days, I have decided to write this post to let you all know (as well as to make myself try to stick to my goals) what I am currently working on and what I would love to share with you this year! ❤️️ Also, at the end of the post under the cut, there is an important question regarding my taglist -- please, read the info if you follow my works and/or want to read some of them!

VOIEVOD

Vlad Dracula will most definitely remain my number-one priority for this year. So far, the update on the upcoming works for his story looks like this:

I am currently working on Second Chances, the work that maps one of the epic battles of Vlad's life, namely his spectacular duel with the former Voivode Vladislav II that marks the beginning of his second (and longest) reign. I have had to put my writing on hold for a while as I tackle my new uni schedule but will do my best to get back to the WIP as soon as possible!

Next, there is Novus Rex, Nova Lex which deals with the beginnings of Vlad's rule, and the tensions between him and the boyars. This WIP is also a strong homage to the wonderful Romanian movie Vlad Ţepeş (1979) as I have decided to borrow a fabulous scene from it and use it for Vlad's story. Hopefully, I will do it justice!

I would also love to focus on the beginnings of Vlad and Cătălina's relationship. You have already had the chance to meet the wonder of a woman, but the start of their love story and all the circumstances that lead to it definitely deserve to be told chronologically.

If all goes well, I would try to also dip my toes into Vlad's years with the Ottomans and try to explore the Drăculești family. A certain Mușat will most likely also make an appearance.

OPEN HEART

The world of Dr. Laura Levchenko has currently been put on hold for an indefinite period, mainly because I am heavily struggling with the overall story and some characters in it. I would also love to drift away from her role in the romantic relationship and explore her character as an individual. I think there is a lot of work to do for me to reassess what I want to say through my writing and what I want to do with the plot.

If all goes well and inspiration kicks me in this universe, I would love to delve into a series mapping her life directly after the maitotoxin attack. If you want to see Laura away from Ethan and shine individually in her pain, then this might be for you. ❤️️

CRIMES OF PASSION

I have been planning to finish a few works I have in mind for this story since summer but, unfortunately, the WIPs keep being abandoned by their negligent writer! I want to heavily redo and expand what we have been given in canon and turn it into something more serious and personal -- being from Eastern Europe, this story hits very close to home, and I would love to give it the levity and portrayal it deserves. So far, the WIP that I would love to work on more is called Silence, Silence, Dry and Black and explores heavier cultural and political themes. I am aware it might not be everyone's cup of tea but hope you would give it a shot nonetheless.

THE WAYHAVEN CHRONICLES

I am still exploring the story and toying around with my M!MC but, if all goes well, I have a very particular idea for a fic I would love to write this year! I am still not sure if I will make a single work from it or divide it into two shorter fics, but I hope to make it happen. Expect pure indulgence on my part as this will be my inner romantic pouring her heart out.

Movie concept: (buckle up, its gonna be a ride)

Okay, we start off with the MC, played by Robert Pattinson. He is having an awful day and the first twenty minutes are just him suffering.

Next shot, Supportive Character (SC) comes onscreen and has a very bad day as well but is much more positive about it

MC and SC coincidentally end up in the same bar. SC induces conversation, they both get drunk and rant about their day. The drunker they get, the more they realize that they both have seen a particular guy over and over again during that bad day. They start connecting the dots and realise that that guy is the bad guy. Somehow, they both end up in MC‘s apartment.

The next morning MC starts looking into that guy‘s info on the internet. Turns out that he is kinda sketchy and they decide that they want to spy on him because they wanna know why he keeps ruining people's lives. He is played by Jared Leto.

The more they spy, the more they are sure that that guy plans something sketchy. Also, there is his second in command, played by Taika Waititi, who seems to keep noticing them spying, but the sketchy guy ignores his warnings.

MC and SC are befriending, but then at some point, they start fighting because SC is just a little too positive for the livescarred MC. So they each try to stop the sketchy guy on their own, but they both fail horrendously. They meet again and decide to work together again. For this particular moment, I have a dialogue in mind that would go somewhere like this:

SC: You were right, i wreckt it all. I… i couldnt do anything, nothing at all! Compleatly useless. But for the record, so were you.

MC: Yep. You‘re right.

SC: wait, what?

MC: I Said, you‘re right. I was useless as well. I suppose we worked better together than on our own. Would you be open to retry it again?

SC *grinning, already gathering they stuff and putting on his jacket*: thought you‘d never ask

MC *grins aswell and follows SC out of the Appartment*

They return to spy and investigate, it's the day of the big thing the sketchy guy has planned. SC and MC are walking through the crowd of people on opposite sides of the streets, connected with a headset. An awful lot is going on and they are very oblivious and don't know why. Suddenly, MC starts having a revelation.

Its a Pride Parade.

There is a big float coming through the crowd. On top of it, the Sketchy guy being dramatic, because PLOTTWIST he was never sketchy, just gay and planning on being dramatic. Also, the „second in command“ is actually his boyfriend. Said boyfriend spotts the MC in the crowd and is like:

„Ey! You are the one that has been being weird all the time, I thought you were Homophobic or something…“

And then the used-to-be-considered-sketchy guy is like:

„Hey! Isnt that over there the other guy you were talking about babe?“

And then there is a look between the boyfriends and they both say something to the MC about how they get it now and that all makes sense, to the MC it doesn't.

Not until SC finally says something over the headset. He understands. SC and MC had fallen in love.

MC understands.

MC and SC run into the middle of the street once the floats pass and they kiss. The crowd cheers and also walks into the street.

The ending scene is them sitting in the same bar as the beginning again taking a drink together and mentioning that this had been the best day ever.

The end.

specifically he says "Life sucks and then you die, right? I just want to make the assholes responsible regret it." But that first bit is really telling for how he views life. It sucks and then you die. I want so badly to know why he thinks like that.

For the second bit, I wonder if that's why he made the pact with a demon. He wants to hold people responsible for the shit they're keeping secret. It makes sense that's how his stigma panned out (i have a theory that stigmas correlate in some way to the wish the ghouls made) too, making it easy to learn secrets. Even without his stigma, he's got all the skills he needs to expose most secrets with his investigation, lying, and hacking skills. MC gets caught in his crosshairs by being associated with Darkwick, which is very obviously a sus place with a ton of secrets and now she specifically is going to get in his way for things.

The people he targets with scams, the ones he really puts effort into, are usually shitty old rich guys. Whoever he and Sho scammed in the beginning was trying to get some kind of data from him. Not for him to delete some kind of blackmail, but hand over some data. While obviously we don't know what it was or anything, but its pretty clear that guy is in some shady shit, likely at least it was some kind of dirt he was trying to use to fuck someone else over with.

I think Leo usually just gets enough information to fuck someone over, which is why he didn't actually figure out the real story with Takeru. Alan's intimacy chats show that there was some info Leo didn't find, I think that'll come back into play later on in the story (possibly in the form of Takeru's ghost anomaly coming back?). I think that'll be his humbling moment to where at least he learns he has to do all the required work with things and not take the easy way

Have some unprocessed thoughts about Leo.

I mean he literally was called out by Alan to take better care of himself, to stop taking the easy way out, and that he’ll be the one to suffer in the end.

Not to mention bro was UNPHASED when Alan threw him against a wall. He was more thrilled to have gotten under his skin, if even for a moment.

Then there’s his opening line about getting revenge or whatever (I’m running on 4 hours of sleep so sorry if I misremembered it).

And then when you pick up Sho’s affinity lines about him, you sort of start to paint a picture of someone who’s reckless and does shit that gives him a thrill in the moment (ie. fights in the club and whatever the fuck he’s doing with fireworks that has Sho hard pass on it ever again).

I’m sure there’s other instances too.

But!

I come here to say this-

Whatever the fuck happened to this dude to make him this way- man.

Here are some of my predictions with no facts just feels

- Sho will eventually have enough of his shit and cut him out of his life if he doesn’t change (they’ll rekindle the friendship probably because Sho does care about him otherwise why put up with his bullshit? He’s just worried about his buddy who’s literally self-destructing)

- He’s going to lose his followers and the little bit of validation he gets

- He’s going to have Vice-Captain stripped from him

- He’s gonna get humbled

But- ALSO yeah I’m not done here

If you had to change the pairing’s very first meeting, how would you change it? It might be fun to have them meet without Liam in the equation. Then maybe I could stop writing every story with a love triangle and/or polygamous ending. Though I doubt it. Well, in Savage Love they do meet without her knowing Liam (that she realizes anyway). She’s an undercover agent assigned to investigate the Via Imperi at Leo’s request and Drake is a captain in the Cordonian Royal Guard that shows up to pick her up. They hit it off right away and continue with steamy hookups. Then eventually she comes face to face with Liam and realizes he was the scorching one-night stand from months prior (they never exchanged info, not even real names for obvious reasons) and that Liam had been trying to find her ever since. Actually, he had Drake looking for her. Oh, the irony. (and cue love triangle).

Least favorite head canon trope/idea? I was definitely not a fan of the rudeness at the beginning of book one. I know it’s the whole grumpy on the outside, gooey center marshmallow thing, but in the beginning, he just came across as kind of a dick and that’s why I didn’t even consider romancing him on my first play through of book one.

Favorite aspect of them/their relationship dynamics? First of all, the heat and playfulness. Although Drake’s protectiveness is pretty hot. Both Tariq and Neville found out the hard way in Complicated not to put hands on Riley.

Which character of the pairing do you like more? (Would you ever pair yourself with them?) So this is so hard. While no version of Riley I write is wholly me, there are pieces of me in every version of her. But if Drake were real, I would definitely be in love with him. I’m gonna go with Drake and yes.

Which character of your pairing would be the one to break up with the other? Why? Well I can’t imagine that ever happening unless Drake got it in his head that it was for her own good, then he’d do it out of his sense of nobility and protectiveness.

Tira sent me here w my Mo Yi questions, so I wanted to ask you how much do you read into Mo Yi's behaviour when he's alone? Do you think he carries an ominous vibe even when talking about the MC during those times?

Hello! This is suuuuper long and kinda rant-ish so I'll... put it under cut!

He does have an ominous vibe sometimes, but for good reason and never to harm. Like, it may seem like he knows more than he shows (but that's only what it SEEMS). While he might know what's more in your head than anyone else, he doesn't harbour any ill intentions! At first, he's also struggling to accept these feelings (what are feelings haha) and wonders if it's merely a mistake, or an illusion, but he soon grows to understand and accept that yes, it is genuine. So, when he is alone, he does those self-reflection things while talking into this dictaphone. (Which can sometimes be detatched, clinical, or heartfelt) Sometimes he talks in a dark way, but that's only because he feels like he's following in his father's footsteps and he hates that he is. His family's kinda dysfunctional so yes, he's also affected by that.

Alone, he muses. He picks at his own faults and mistakes himself much more than others.

If you're talking about the scene with the roses and he's on the phone, in that part he's portrayed ominously / kinda evil/ to add to the suspense. And while he may sound clinical and detached back then, it is only because he was giving a professional EVALUATION of MC as a "suitable candidate for NXX" to Zuo Ran over the phone. So while he may be all clipped and sharp edges there, he's not... like that deep down. (He also thinks that Zuo Ran's teacher had betrayed them, so this guardedness and jadedness also comes from that fresh wound bc he was someone they all trusted and they were newly betrayed, so he's very cautious.)

Although some things he do might be questionable (yes, he's a bit of an elitist and has sarcasm to the nines if prodded, but-) think of it this way, an eagle shoves their kid out of the nest to make them learn how to fly and survive. That's what he's doing. He doesn't coddle (overly) which is why sometimes he has that ominous vibe going on because he's gonna shove MC off... to help MC grow as a person to become better.

I'm also tired about people saying how he's red flag/sus because the story in ToT follows a TIMELINE and you are all at the START of it... (like how we were begging for the loaf at the beginning because all we got were crumbs... and trying to explain sometimes feels like I’m trying to talk to a brick wall)

For us down in the CN version, we'd tell you, yes he's kinda shady, but that's just his character, and NO HE'S NOT SUS!! There's SO MUCH MORE to him than that... (I'm begging you) The way he's jaded and the way his tongue is that sharp is only because of his upbringing and HIS PAST which will slowly be revealed... Just because he's a shrink doesn't mean he's instantly shady, alright? He might be one, but he wouldn't use those against MC, ever. Mind games are fine when directed to others, but to MC? Never. (but sometimes his elitist ass gets a little ... yeah. He's learning shh)

In other words, while Mo Yi has his own issues, he is... kind... willing to try all sorts of things with MC and willing to fight anyone who dares try to harm.. and also willing to change. this guy even bakes MC stuff all the time... and invites her to share tea (Even I personally wouldn't share mine?? unless we're close?) .... and so much more... (Sorry for the rant)

Locational Astrology Part II - AstroCartography Maps

Part I - Relocation Charts

This is the 2nd part of my 3-part introduction to Locational Astrology. In Part 1 we talked about relocation charts, which show how any single place in the world could impact you astrologically. If you haven’t read through that yet, I highly suggest reading that first. Also just to reiterate, these techniques depend on having an absolutely exact time of birth for your chart, down to the precise minute. Even just a several minute inaccuracy can completely throw off the entire interpretation.

Let’s get started!

Why we use AstroCartography maps

Like we covered before, relocation charts are extremely powerful and specific charts that give us a lot of information about one specific location. This is great if you have a specific place in mind and you already want to move to or visit. However, if you’re trying to figure out the best place to move to or go on a vacation to, things might get harder because the world is a big place with tons of locations to make charts for, so it’s a pretty unrealistic plan to try to make one for every possible place. Your AstroCartography map solves this problem, by making a map of the world (or of a smaller geographic area) and labeling all of the places that would put one of your planets on the AC, DC, MC, or IC of the relocation chart. While relocation charts provide much more information for individual places, your AstroCartography map gives you a brief overview of which places in the world will have the strongest impact on you, highlighting where you should make relocation charts for.

How to generate your AstroCartography map for free

The best way to create a relocation chart for free is to go to www.astro.com > Free Horoscopes > AstroClick Travel (or click this link). From there, enter your birth info and select the “Scalable Map” option, and there you’ll have an interactive map that you can move around on and zoom in and out of, displaying your AstroCartography Lines. You should be seeing something like this:

What the lines mean

Now let’s make sense of what all this is. Each line shows where on the map a planet would be conjunct the AC, DC, MC, or IC in the relocation chart. For example, near the top of the left side of the map above, there’s the beginning of a blue line labeled Moon DC. In the relocation chart of any location that touches that line, this person’s moon would be conjunct the DC. This is how all of the lines work. For the Venus MC line, that shows all of the places where Venus would be conjunct the Midheaven in the relocation chart, on the Uranus AC line Uranus is conjunct the Ascendant in the relocated chart, and so on.

Additional options for more lines

In the top left corner, there are checkboxes tabled “w. harmonious aspects” and “w. disharmonious aspects”. Checking these show lines representing which locational charts have aspects between planets and the AC, DC, MC, and DC. The harmonious aspects include trines and sextiles, which generate a more mellow and complimentary energy between them, and the disharmonious aspects show Squares, which put them at odds with each other and have more friction. We’ll dive deeper into interpreting all of this later, but for now you might want to keep these unchecked because they make a lot more lines appear and it can get quite messy.

Interpreting AstroCartography maps

Going to a place that’s on one of these lines will drastically “turn up the volume” of that planet in your life. For example, going to a place on your Moon MC line will make your emotions much more open and public, putting you in situations where your emotions are active and very visible to the world. Keep in mind that this isn’t because the new location changes your personality but instead it’s because of how your new environment interacts with you. For example, there’s one relocation astrology story where somebody was visiting his Pluto (the planet of death) AC line, and he quite literally accidentally walked into a stranger’s funeral and had to sit through it to avoid an awkward moment. How we handle this depends a lot on how our planets are placed and aspected in our natal chart, which shows which planets are safest and most beneficial to put in the spotlight through relocation. That wraps it up for this part, but we’ll dive deeper into that in the next section.

Now you know how to calculate an interactive AstroCartography map and what it means. In the 3rd and final part of this lesson, we’ll talk about some more advanced techniques for interpreting how different lines on the AstroCartography map affect us and now to calculate the best places in the world for us to visit to best suit our individual charts and personal goals. Luja Sen, she/her

Anyways, Luja and Romila are friends from middle school (the story starts with the beginning of their high school at AoS (Academy of the Specialised) which was essentially founded by Nyx). Luja gains her Specialisation (Ferrokinesis: The Ability to bend metal) at the age of twelve, so she has it for a lesser time period than Romila.

Luja primarily wants to become a scientist. Her family is happy with that, because it's praised and everything, especially in our society.

She has a gifted child superiority complex. Being a gifted child + Specialised means that she hardly had many friends in school. Her family had tried to get her to socialize....which didn't go down too well.

She believes that most people are annoying because they waste too much time on useless things like gossiping and what not, which she never showed much interest in and doesn't like to be dragged into those nonsense.

She is friends with Romila since they do share the same taste in stuff and were the only Specialised ones in their class. And they kinda stuck together for most of middle school and went into high school.

She has a problem when it comes to seeing Romila since she tends to see her bad parts and is like, "It's a phase" considering that it's not necessarily affecting her. Romila doesn't get too cranky with her since she fascinates her, with her passion™ for science. Also because she isn't all self sacrifice UwU.

Luja cares for her own self above others (but tends to put Romila pretty close to that hierarchy, which is why she's one of the only two Romila trusts during the Mansion of Death (the other person is Kratanos)) however she also does want to keep what friends she has and is generally caring towards them.

She has a genuine love for science and loves to discover how things work and why, and her favourite facet is Physics. She does want to invent things and honestly just make stuff easier for the Specialised who face a LOT of issues, especially when it comes to amenities since the government is an ass about accomodations and they gained the Fundamental Rights like ten years or so ago in the ALTERNATIVE timeline. And they gain an additional right ("The body won't be harmed for science") when they graduate from school, after signing a contract that they dedicate themselves to helping the government when called upon. (The whole contract is stupid and basically oppresses them more especially the punishment for not abiding by it).

With her goal of becoming a scientist, she wants to use her talents to make accomodations specifically for them so that she could have done something.

The things she fears the most is failure. Failing as in being unable to accomplish her goals. She is afraid of it because it's an unknown variable that's constantly haunted her and she's working hard for it to never reach her.

I suppose there's a way for her to confront that fear during the Mid terms at AoS where she essentially "loses" in the practicals due to her......teamwork issues.

Everyone thinks of her as stuck up and isn't interested to listen to her much and since she views the others as annoying people with annoying habits, she tends to fail to regulate them, causing Romila to win instead (yes, it's THAT unfortunate of a situation) in their match, which causes her to review a LOT of things and she tries to see what caused her to lose after having a severe breakdown.

She develops an inferiority complex in respect to Romila and then spends a long time wondering where she went wrong.

Rena (who somehow clung to her) tries to cheer her up but gets turned back halfway, but she still stays on and Luja is like, "Wtf" until she sees Romila going entirely off the deep end (she presents an interesting contrast to how Koldin sees Romila as well, she sees Romila's behavior and considers it as a justification for her own self....she uses Romila to justify herself a lot (since if you asked Romila, Luja was more or less fine according to her since she wasn't being a doormat and stood up for herself) while Koldin sees Romila as the reason he should cling onto his own stuff) and realises that she could be on the path to destruction herself and accepts Rena's help and tries to be more open to others which leads to the Mid terms parallels in the Archenemy of Society arc where she "succeeds" instead and manages to get the class together enough to escape the situation.

However it doesn't mean that her fear of failure has entirely vanished into the blue, she just reviews the ways she can fail better now and works around it to avoid it and has more confidence in her own self. But she is still scared of failing and would love to avoid that more than anything. However she's chiller after that.

Her intelligence is more or less on par with both Romila and Kratanos, making them the three main strategists in the final battle against the bigots (which is basically a rerun of the Mansion of Death situation but way way worse and fucked up and has different leads to it).

The thing is that, no matter what I do, she winds up feeling like one dimensional/repetitive, which is something I am trying to amend about all the characters (I mean, I had to revamp a lot of characters so it will probably take me a long long time to actually get to writing.........sigh besides she stands up like a cardboard amongst people (I mean, you have Romila and Kratanos with extremely complicated storylines and then you have her. Just there))

So the main question is how to make her more interesting as a character and on par with the rest while still keeping her character flaws and personality?

I think the easiest way to go abt this is to view her as a sassy Bakugo. They have the main points in common. They're salty, don't like to socialise, feel inferior to a certain someone while still having some semblance of confidence and a terrible fear of failure

Now as much as I hate to compare your character to another one, it makes it a lot easier to have them become - as my English teacher would say - more. So I am sorry if this comes off as offensive-

For Bakugo, he became interesting by playing a big part in the mc's main story and we do get a few scenes where his vulnerability is shown. I assume it's the same with your character but...what rlly ties the knot for me when it comes to Katsuki is the fact that his problems...are more than just an inferiority/superiority complex. His whole thing stems from background especially (*cough* abusive mom *cough*) and the fact that he's not the main character (or rather that the story isn't being told in his perspective).

These facts make us over think and want more of him. The mystery draws us in which is why I think Luja's character is so perfect for someone in the background. She doesn't like to reveal things abt herself and is pretty dismissive to most things on top of that (plainly just salty). Her character rlly draws you in and the best way to portray those kinds of characters is through another character. Ofc, you'd have to get to their POV eventually but it's important to note that most of the details should come from someone else's POV (an observer, if you will) instead of info dumping and starting straight with hers. A character that's mysterious with a very simple yet relatable story attracts a LOT more attention and interest when seen from someone else's perspective than when you kickstart it from theirs.

Ofc, if u are planning (or already have) started the story from her POV, that would be a bit problematic in terms of interest. But not a train wreck. This is where my other point comes in. The point of making a character have more than one problem

Different ppl as well as characters have a main problem but also different ones, no matter what way you look at it. It seems that even you are confused with all ur character's ins and outs (dw, we've all been there... I am still there tbh) and a solution to that is backtracking a bit and looking at their life from the very beginning in HEAVY detail (like more than u already did). Think abt what other trauma could have been caused, what doubts and fears could have slowly crept it's way to her heart and head (I am a sucker for long-lasting doubts that develop over time) and anything you can even so much as GRASP on. If you look at it and see it as a possibility, try to fit that into her character and add it subtly in different places (as subtext or a creative pattern, wordplay, doesn't rlly matter as long as it's not openly stated bc, remember, the key thing to these types of characters is mystery).

For example, a fear of failure can stem into anxiety before the character has even lost smth later in their life. They probably get rlly anxious when evaluating smth but don't show it much or at all so no one notices. This adds even MORE to the character bc you can build it up after other events. Like once they have failed, they could probably get even more anxious and then develop a bad relationship with the person who beat them (double the points if it was a friend). You could build all that up and turn it super toxic instead of jumping right to the healing. It makes it more interesting, doesn't it? Plus, reevaluating almost everything including world views after 1 loss is...kind of hard to believe even with anxiety (no offense)

Adding a lot of little problems and thinking abt how Luja's behaviour can impact other characters helps a terrible lot if ur doing most of the story from her POV. Especially since she's probably the most relatable character (from what I've heard anyway). I have a certain saying... it goes like, "It's better to have a relatable and connecting character than one with a problem that is too big for normal people to fathom."

I like characters with heart-wrenching problems that I would never be able to relate to (take maybe Shigaraki as an example ig?) But my favourite are the ones that make me feel as tho I made a real connection

Also, I would like to say...if ur looking to progress her character even further, I would debate on whether it's the complete end to the novel or if there'll be a second part. If it's a second part, keep some of Luja's issues. Make her get better but not completely "YAY, I AM DONE BEING TORMENTED". If it's the end of the novel/series/etc., make it so that she's resolved most of most of her issues. They don't have to be completely gone but they have to be a lot better compared to how they started. And how i would work that out is a mind map but knowing ur a scatterbrain...lets talk it out where everything is all over the place

Luja's main thing is to gain confidence in herself and be finally ok with losing, right? If you ask me, that's a tough one but not impossible. I think to get her from point A to point B is to put up a bunch of events like:

Get her super anxious when doing smth

Lose to *insert person*

Have a breakdown and over think on what she could have done better (on the project or whatever she lost at)

Get even more anxious and totally mess up the next thing

Lose once again (double points if it's the same person as last time)

Overthinking abt how she's not good enough
