Words cannot express how truly amazing this con was! This was, by far, one of the greatest gifts that Skydaddy has given me! With that said...

On Saturday, I did photo ops with Hyaden. Which he was just so excited to see my special Leafs shirt and get the Leafs bracelet I made him. 💙🤍 Unfortunately though, I froze up soooo bad. Sassyness just bam...gone...out the window. 😭 But he was so patient with me. Pulled me in for a side hug, gave me backrubs, and told me "it's okay". Also, lord, he smelled so good...like mountain freshness, mixed with rain. 🫠

Thankfully though, I was able to redeem myself on Sunday.

I got to see him for autographs first thing in the morning. (Best way to start your day, 10/10) I was finally able to talk to him without being a shy bean. Again, he was excited to see my special Jays shirt; got a be kick out of me being a fan of both teams. 💙🤍 Got a good laugh out of my 'Crispy, Not Burnt' keychain on the Anakin backpack...along with the 'Bad Dad Star Wars Jokes' book I gave him. And was so happy to get some homemade 'crack' cookies from me. Poor guy though, he accidentally mispronuced my name at first and just kept apologizing while we both kept trying to shake with the wrong hand. 😂

After the autographs, Skydaddy and I got to see him and Rosario for the team-up photo. Where right off the bat, as soon as he saw me, he thanked me for the cookies again and told me he really liked them. I was able to give the two of them the matching bracelets I made (Worlds Best Padawan and Worlds Okayish Master). And before we went to leave, Hayden thanked me again and gave me more backrubs. ❤️

Finally, not too long after the team up, I went to get an autograph from Rosario. Which she got her own container of 'crack' cookies, she was very excited about that. And told me about how after she and Hayden finished the team up pics, they finally got the chance to see what the bracelets said. Apparently they both got a good laugh out of them and Hayden said, "Okayish? Only Okayish?" 😂

Again...this was truly an amazing con! I can't wait to have the opportunity to see both of them again! And hopefully I didn't bore you, lovelies, with my experience post! 🖤💛

💙 drunken kiss / tipsy // instead of being found during the sequel era, kix is found by cody and cody's pirate crew ten years after the end of the war. everyone is dead or worse except them (or so they think)

Kix stumbles back from the shadows, still struggling with the zipper of his pants, and starts making his way back to the fires up on the beach. The sand is damp under his bare feet, and the breeze that rolls in from the sea makes him shiver, and the ground seems to shift and swell under him, the crew’s cheap spotchka sloshing in his belly. 

Cody’s pirates are a noisy bunch. Kix can hear them singing and laughing despite the noise of the waves crashing against the shore, despite the noise of his own heartbeat in his temples. Someone dragged a holoplayer from the ship, and now they are dancing to a song that Kix remembers from the war, in pairs and groups or all alone, bottle in one hand and face turned up to the starry sky. 

Cody isn’t there. Kix turns on his heel, his limbs heavy with drink, blinking stupidly in the lack of light. He can see the ship, huge and ugly and terrifying even in the distance, and he can see the crew, and that’s about it. Kix sighs. He knows it’s a bad idea even before he makes himself start walking.

His memories of the man who used to be the 212th’s commander are a brittle, cracking thing. That Cody is always at Rex’s side, watching him and smiling at him and stealing his drinks, his hand on Rex’s shoulder or hooked in Rex’s belt, but only when he thinks no one is watching. He is a good officer and a right bastard, and Kix trusts him but isn’t quite sure if he likes him. 

The last time they spent time together was during that op on Skako Minor—Kix escorted him back to base camp, trying his best to keep him alive, mostly for Rex’s sake, and then that was that.

Sometimes Kix feels like a piece fo shit for not feeling more grateful, for not being kinder to the man who found him on that Seppie shuttle, but then he actually interacts with the bastard and he gets over it. 

He finds Cody alone, as Kix knew he’d be. He treats his crew the same way he used to treat his officers—he’d die for them, but that doesn’t mean he is that interested in sharing a drink or his bed with any of them. Kix drops on the sand at his side with a grunt and starts rooting around his pocket for his smokes: Cody glances at him and back at the waves, his knees bent and his arms around them.

It’s been ten years, and he wears them well. He kind of looks like Kix vaguely remembers Prime looking one of the very few times he saw him, thicker around the shoulders and the torso than he used to be. His hair is still dark, and he wears it shorter than he used to, and there’s a scar on his chin that wasn’t there the last time Kix saw him. 

He looks like the future. 

It’s too windy. Kix curses under his breath and twists and turns on the sand, fighting his numb fingers and his lighter. The first taste of smoke sinks into his chest and calms the vague sense of anxiety he didn’t even know he was feeling, and Kix exhales, leaning in his free hand, legs stretched out in front of him towards the sea. 

Cody’s watching him: Kix can sense the weight of Cody’s stare on the side of his face, and he doesn’t even have to look at Cody to know the way his lips will be pressed together.

The thing about Cody is that while he’s glad he found Kix, a part of him can’t help but hate that he’s not someone else. 

(A part of Kix hates that he was found at all.)

“Kix.” His voice has changed. It’s lower, rougher. Too many years roaring orders and inhaling battlefield fumes.

“Hm?” Kix flicks the butt of his cigarette and turns to look at Cody.

His hand is warm and dry on Kix’s face. He tastes of the same cheap liquor they’ve all been drinking for hours, and Kix finds himself trying his best to chase it back into his mouth, Cody’s hand hot like brand and now cradling his jaw, his nose cold against Kix’s cheek. 

It’s too much and not enough. Kix turns his face away, because he can’t breathe and he’s dropped his smoke and this is not what he wanted. He’s glad when Cody doesn’t let go.

The easy answer here is Sanji, I absolutely adore him!! He's the reason I started watching OP in the first place, and that love has only grown as I've watched more and more. I love writing for him both because I feel like I understand his character the most, and also because I feel like there's a decent amount of flexibility the way he acts with someone he loves, so it's fun to explore the different attitudes he might have!

I'm trying to figure out who's in second, since Sanji has a very hearty lead on everyone else, and I think it's probably Ace? I love writing things dissecting a character's attitude towards themselves and why they feel that way, and he's great for that. Also? Husband material 😊 But I've loved about every character I've done so far, even if some have been a bit harder for me (I'm still finding Law a bit but I'm getting there!). I'm also really excited to get to Wano and learn more about the Kid Pirates to see if I can write for them, because I am Very intrigued by them (especially Killer-I think hot blond chefs might be my type)

When I call Orion “precious” it’s not in a weak, cutesy, uwu way.

It’s a nod to his connection to Thirteen, who was a gentle mediator, and his portrayal in The Covenant of Primus, where he does have a “dreamer” quality to him. However, it’s not an “uwu” cute thing; it’s more like a youthful sage quality.

Canon TFP Orion does not give me those same vibes. He’s not quite the same gentle, positive influence seen early on in The Covenant. Like you said, he’s more anxious and disturbed.

🔥 Orion Pax

I doubt this is that unpopular, but I know I am about to offend quite a few people with a fondness for this trope.

Orion Pax was in no way the UWU mess that a good half of the fandom likes to portray him as. Was he naive to a degree? Yes. But was he UWU and all feminine? I HIGHLY doubt that. He served under Alpha Trion and worked with all sorts of grim knoweldge.

There was no way he was a ray of sunshine as the fandom likes to say. He was so out of sorts during the Orion Pax arc because he literally woke up millennia in the future he hoped to never see. Anyone would be more confused and nervous in such a situation. It makes sense that he would be more uncertain and a little more naive knowledge wise because who the hell was he supposed to believe? All he had was what Megatron told him and little else. His whole reality was on its head, he likely felt instinctually driven to follow the only static being that he knew of.

The fact that his mental distress turned into some of the fandom seeing him as UWU irritates the writer in me on a spiritual level. A weak and cutesy mess does not turn into the hardened warrior and wise leader that Optimus was. Unless the Matrix literally rebuilt him from the ground up, I just don't see these two identities meshing or leading to one another.

In conclusion, I have a personal vendetta against UWU Pax and I will fight anyone who tries to claim he is canon. Do what you want in fanfic, but please don't screw around with what Optimus is. Thank you for coming to my slightly rage infused rant.

It is unfortunate that TFP only gave us a small glimpse of Optimus: who he was, what motivated him, who he became, and who he wanted to be. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen him referred to as “the most boring Optimus,” and while I understand that opinion, I disagree. For a while now, I’ve been wanting to write an in-depth analysis of his character to hopefully give others a better idea of who Optimus is and why I love this version of him.

While this post series is focused primarily on canon, there is a bit of personal speculation thrown in as well. <- I shouldn’t have to say this at all, but I’m doing so because I was once mocked for expressing a “far-fetched” theory based on canon.

It’s been almost 2 years since I read all of the Aligned novels in full, so if I glossed over an important detail, my apologies. Feel free to correct me if you know better.

At first reading about Masky realizing Brain was stalking him I was like ‘oh yeah fucked up blorbo attracted to fucked up stuff,’ but then I remembered Masky doesn’t really exist to normal people. Personally, I think of him as being red first before blue (from a physical standpoint), but mostly because the ratio of red to blue is often skewed toward red. Also, my eyes are naturally drawn to his upper body & head when listening to him speak to the point where the rest of him falls away.

However, vibe-wise, he is blue to me.

I have a random curiosity that might be a bit confusing.

I once saw someone describe Optimus as "a red robot" and for me it confused me a hot second bc I always viewed him as a blue transformer. they met through an antique store that norman runs in this au! it's a modern au where the events of canon end differently and norman gets away with the murders but sells the motel and moves to another part of the state and opens an antique store instead!

🍒 - What are some headcanons you have about your f/o?

this is both my reading of the source and a thing in the self-ship but i personally think norman has at least one more alter other than those shown to exist in his source (so not the mother in the movie/book or the "normal bates" alter in the book). i think the one who disposes of the corpses is a different one than any of the others who are explicitly shown to exist.

in my self-ship, the alter who cleans up after the bodies has a genuine taste for violence that transfers onto norman when his system integrates. norman is initially too traumatized (is that quite the right word?) by the murders to acknowledge that he enjoys violent ideation so he tells himself it's just intrusive thoughts until eventually learning that it doesn't make him a bad person and he's eventually able to enjoy it through kink with my self-insert :)

🍎 - What are some headcanons for your s/i?

trying to think about what constitutes a "headcanon" about an oc of mine vs. just a fact about them since i control what's canon about them...well i guess i'll just give some facts about him because i don't think i've posted anything about them here!

their name is nil and they're an alien from a planet orbiting betelgeuse (which, as an alien extranth/fictive, is my home star!) and they meet norman because they're a photographer who takes pictures on other planets, and they go to earth to this end only for eir spaceship to break down and em to get stranded there. (they later get un-stranded through events i am yet to determine but that involve norman coming to space with nil!)

one of my favorite facts about them is that they have transitioned five times (arguably only four because ey's a system and one of those instances was one of their alters transitioning because she temporarily became host and nil let her do whatever she wanted, but the body has gone through five distinct phases of transition).

transition is much more accessible in outer space than on earth, and alien hrt is more complicated than human hrt in that, instead of one hormone inducing numerous physical changes at once, different changes are controlled by different hormones. this in theory would make it more difficult for someone trying to transition "fully", but that concept doesn't really exist with how gender works in space, and it lets people have more control over the exact changes their bodies undergo.

nil's internal sense of gender is completely unrelated to eir body, though, and while that changes over time too, a lot of why ey transitions so many times is to try to obtain a sense of autonomy and control (as well as reacting to body-related traumas). the body they end up with by the time that they reach earth has breasts (but small ones that are easily hidden/bound, this is the size ey prefers), wide hips, a lot of body hair, and a voice in the higher range of what could be considered "lower". on earth, ey's read as either a cis man, a trans man, or a trans woman depending on how ey presents, but most people who spend enough time with him to be his friend and see how he prefers to present (with both breasts and body hair visible and emphasized but not using she/her) assume that ey's a GNC pre/non-op transmasc and he finds that this is validating to his sense of identity even if it's not actually accurate.

❤️ - How affectionate is your f/o?

depends on various factors! before his friendship with nil (it's a queerplatonic relationship that starts out as a physically affectionate friendship), norman is not used to giving or receiving physical affection, whereas nil is used to it but hasn't met too many people on earth who are as big on platonic physical affection as he is and as has been normalized to him by the culture(s) he's interacted with in space.

however, after a conversation between the two of them (prior to any formalized relationship), they establish the possibility for and then a pattern of physical affection within the context of their friendship. norman takes a while to get used to it and isn't comfortable (at least for a while) with publicly displaying affection (namely because he fears queerphobic reactions). however, he does end up becoming pretty affectionate with nil in private, especially cuddling while watching movies together or physical affection as a gesture of reassurance.

💙 - What trope dos your self ship fall under?

i don't know if this is a trope per se, but i am fond of describing nil's and norman's relationship as "freak4freak" in that they both have similar things wrong with them as well as possessing kinks that constitute or border on mental illness and fit in really well with each other in that respect. a lot of it is based on how well the stuff that's wrong with us fits with what's wrong with our partner system in our freak4freak relationship :)
