I was out picking wild black cherries in the alley behind my house today and looked down to see

there is not meant to be a chicken in the alley

#she often escapes her backyard and she belongs to the landlord of the house and not the tenants so they don’t keep too tight a leash on her #but i wasn’t expecting to see her there and she’s never gotten that close before ��😭#she thought my bag of cherries had mealworms in it bc apparently the neighbor whose house I was by buys mealworms to give to the chicken #when she visits. like a stray cat #but she gets out three times a day to roam the neighborhood so atp she is just a neighborhood chicken #claire yells to the void

Month 7, day 2

So something happened to my computer while I was at work (I assume some kind of a power fart) that results in it automatically restarting due to a "problem" whenever I try to sign into it, which means no 3D work until I get that sorted out. For tonight, I return to that design I want to slap on a t-shirt! :D

I'm digging the thinner outline on Frey's silhouette, and also I decided to play with the magical effect on the bullet trail just because I could :)

i love having a trail camera. like if you like animals get one but be aware that if you have outdoor animals, Worries will arise. either way, I love that I know there is a kitty outside. one which is supposed to be here and is good <3

#like. ive known weve had fishers for decades but I've only seen them in person in the last two years. and only twice #i did not know we had bobcats. which the bobcat is recent considering I've gone two years without getting one on film #ive never seen a weasel (have gotten them on film very recently)#ive also never gotten housecats! which is surprising because my next door neighbor has an outdoor cat #and there are at least 2 or 3 around #(though i know one has 'disappeared'#anyway. ive never lost a chicken to a predator and I love that we have bobcats

I am super stressed right now. Not only my cat constant meowing and demanding to be let in and out of the door get in the way of my work, i have to deal with toddlers from the daycare next door screaming. I barely got anything done in three days and works just keep piling up. I haven't got any sleep either, only naps that contribute to the further destruction of my sleep schedule. I think i need to skip class so i won't break

been back in the city for like an hour and already miss the quiet and calm of my small town </3

#it's been the first year the noise has really affected me though #and i think it's cause now i live on a 3rd floor at the intersection of two big avenues #there's always sooo many cars sirens shouts and just soooo much noise!!!#i miss the birds chirping the crickets at night my neighbor's chickens and my dogs and cats being silly and wrecking havoc </3 #the city sounds now make me anxious ugh truly 19yo me would not recognize me

I think the hardest thing about living out in the country is that everyone's dogs are free range and I have many opinions on that but the biggest one is that I see a dog out wandering and my brain goes into panic! Save that dog! Mode but in the country you've gotta be like am I saving this dog or am I interrupting its nightly trek

#literally like 4 of my neighbors just have their dogs out and off leash #they dont attack the cats or chickens or my dogs so #but it makes me so worried for them

researching chicken care (bc im dead srs abt getting chickens), and one of the questions to ask myself is who will care for my birbs when i go anywhere? i already dont have help w my cats, so that's some real food for thought.

it might be easy enough to ask redneck santa's wife to help (my next door neighbor lol) seeing as she could just go into my backyard and do whatever.

anyway, you can get a decent prefab coop off wayfair for $150, thats not bad

Oops I think I shut one of the neighborhood cats in my garage yesterday.

I'll leave the door open occasionally while I'm home so they can hunt the mice infesting it. Usually the cat (1 of 2) comes bolting out once they hear me futzing around nearby, but maybe she was asleep? Or deeply focused?

Anyway I opened the door to retrieve my clothespins, started hanging thing up on the line, and she was suddenly just there with me, rapidly slinking around to remove herself from the area post-haste.

So yeah, I think she spent the night in the garage.

Hope she feasted well.

#there's a neighbor dude who's more or less adopted their care a #they love him but don't let anyone else near #although i have been making nodding acquaintance with the one in the garage by verbally greeting her everytime i see her #i use the exact same phrase so she knows it's directed at her (and that i've seen her so she can stop trying to sneak)#she's stopped bolting from me and will in fact hang out as long as i don't approach #so basically we're buds #they're not feral #pretty sure they originated from one of the rental houses down the street trying to get past a no pets policy by keeping kittens outside #and then they moved of course leaving the cats to fend for themselves until neighbor dude moved in #and once they moved up the street to hang out with him they discovered my mouse 'problem'#and started staking out the chicken run and garage at dusk/dawn #and occasionally leaving me 'gifts'

The tiniest black kitten has shown up at our house

#we can’t bring it in because I’m allergic and my parents don’t want me to die or whatever #we will give it food and take care of it as an outdoor cat though #we aren’t sure if it’s a neighbors or not if it is then we’ve now stolen a chicken and a cat from them #both times against our will they just won’t leave #we think we’re gonna name it toothless #💖#🐈‍⬛
