The "easy" answer to this is - Sure! My wife frequently does beta reading for me (although she's only read the first chapter(s) of this one so far), and I have two non-DBZ friends who I've goobed to about this story and both are aware of my AO3 username and would absolutely be fine with having them read it.

Other people/family in my life? Uhhhhh. It would have to be the right person at the intersection of me being comfortable sharing that I'm writing explicit DBZ fics. Like I'm pretty comfortable talking about the fact that I write fanfiction, and I'm comfortable talking about reading and even writing spicy content, but it takes a certain intersection of interests for me to be comfortable sharing my work with someone.

Writing is an inherently vulnerable process, and I'm just not always willing to open myself up to potential ridicule if it's not someone's jam. Like I have plenty of nerd friends that just wouldn't be into DBZ content, and I even have DBZ friends who I know would not be into fanfiction in the slightest.

So yes, I definitely would if they meet the right vibe for it, and I'm not embarrassed for people to know I write fanfiction or even explicit content, but actually sharing it with people I know is a little more rare.

A genre was not provided, so I'm going to talk about this in terms of something I've been reflecting on while thinking about updating tags.

Angst.

I've read a lot of amazing angst lately, and this story has a few drops of it. I've hesitated to apply that label to this story(stories), because there's not a lot of it. There definitely will be some, but can we call a 10-chapter story with maybe 1-2 chapters of decent angst an entire angst fic? I dunno. But it's going to make people uncomfortable, and that's part of the point.

Categorizing stories is hard, y'all. I ultimately decided the genre for this one was romance, because it's a story about people coming together and how and why and circumstance and change, but this story doesn't really fit well into any single category. It's not even a single story.

It's confusing, and weird, and a little uncomfortable, and I love it.

You’re getting (or have gotten) bad news in regards to something that was putting a lot of pressure on you, something that’s put you through hell. You’re being released, which seems like a good thing, but it doesn’t seem that way to you. That’s what you wanted right? At some point you did, now you’re hanging on for dear life because you don’t WANT to set down this burden. Scorpios don’t like change, at least not ones they don’t initiate.

This may have come to a shock to you with The Tower. You’re either feeling abandoned by a person (could be a relationship) or you’re dealing with some major financial strain. It looks like you’ve definitely said your piece to whoever dropped this bomb on you. Separately, for some of you, you’re trying to heal a relationship, and you’re dissatisfied because you have nothing to give in terms of material things or financial stability. You want to take romantic action towards someone, could be this Tower person that pulled the rug out from under your feet, could be a separate person and the disaster is pertaining to your job, bills, a financial issue that’s cost way too much of your resources, etc.

You don’t like the imbalance of lack in the relationship, you want equal give and take, a partner, working together, and being together in a loving relationship. It seems like you’re the one lacking though, and it’s killing your pride. Normally you’d judge someone else for this same thing, but instead of facing humility and judging less, you’re just...bitter. Bitter Betty. The more important thing is you love this person deeply, and if they feel the same, they won’t see you as less for that. That’s the advice. Stop judging both others and yourself with these high expectations. Shit happens 💙

Unicorn 🦄 on The Tower could point to something idealistic, fantasy, a false idea in your head or assumption that’s crumbling. There is a lot of advice based on needing to shift your perspective, and this one in particular feels like “reality check”. Towers exist to wipe away what is not built on a stable foundation, and magic has its place, but only when it’s based on some kind of reality too.

Heart ♥️ on Murder Mystery! Isn’t to be taken seriously, it’s “lighten up, get social, have fun”. You’re stuck in a grumpy mindset and Spirit wants to help you out yo’ feelings, as a friend once said to me 😆 It’s true though. And this sort of thing sounds right up a Scorpio’s alley. You could love it.

Ladybug 🐞 on Knight of Cups shows there is luck relating to the romantic action you want to take. The only one stopping you is you, and maybe outside financial circumstances, that maybe don’t carry as much weight as you’re giving it. This person comes up as someone that has a lot of compassion, love, and understanding. If you’re afraid to be judged, it isn’t necessary. You judge yourself enough for everyone and then some.

first one to wake and is also the first one who would go to yejun for cuddles 

proceeds to also wake yejun up in the processes

but yejun loves him (and all of them) to deal with the ball of excitement early in the morning 

would attempt to get yejun out of bed for an early morning walk but he knows it would never work 

yejun yawned, awaking to a very eager looking Jake sitting at the end of your bed. “...jake?” “good morning!” he excitedly greeted, happiness radiating off him. she smiled, opening your arms for a “good morning hug”, lovingly termed by the golden retriever hybrid himself. yejun let loose another yawn, arms looping around a pliant jake who was snuggled at her left.

for the mouse hybrid, the smallest noise also stirs him from his sleep 

if jake wasn’t hoarding yejun, heeseung would be with yejun instead, lying beside her 

quiet moments are spent with him just like that: whether in bed, or in the kitchen (the two common places) 

if jake was with yejun then he’d still choose to join the two of them, watching as jake attempts to lick yejun awake while yejun pushes him away, holding onto heeseung for purchase

“i like mornings spent with you.” yejun smiled over the top of her cup as she gingerly sipped the hot chocolate she prepared for both heeseung and her. “i like it too.” heeseung nodded, warming his hands around the mug. the snow was silently falling outside while the two of them enjoyed a quiet morning together, legs tangled under the table.

similar to heeseung, but he opts to stay in bed until yejun personally wakes him up with a kiss to his forehead 

it has become a habit, if yejun doesn’t “wake him up” with a kiss, he’d actually get pouty 

is terribly shy to ask yejun for kisses and instead just taps his forehead if she forgot to give him one 

yejun knows that sunghoon is pretending to sleep, as his long floppy ears twitching being a telltale sign 

sunghoon hears yejun approaching and he turns to face the wall, poorly attempting to hide that he’s awake. yejun pads over in those fluffy slippers of hers and pats niki (his roommate) awake. “niki, heeseung made some ramyeon outside for everyone so wash up and have something warm to eat.” niki makes a noise of agreement and yejun heads for sunghoon. she leans over and brushes his hangs out of the way before pressing a kiss on his forehead, “good morning my sleepy baby.”

still lazes around in bed even after yejun attempts to wake him up, but is clearly awake

will try to get yejun to lie down with him so that he could go back to sleep because “a growing kids needs sleep” 

but if he’s awake, he’d trail behind yejun to do morning routines together (it’s a funny sight because he’s quite tall and he’s practically towering over her) 

“the sun is shining brightly today! shall we hang the wet laundry?” yejun determinedly decided. “okay!” he bounded towards the basket of wet clothing and easily lifted it up. trailing behind yejun, the two of them headed to the small backyard where the racks were at. bending down to pick up the articles of clothing, he burst out laughing at the sight of yejun struggling to hang the big bedsheet over. “i got this. you can leave it to me, shortie!” “hey! i’m not that short!”

was awake long ago but like niki proceeds to laze around in the living room instead

would find him curled up at the couch, or with another hybrid (still on the couch)

today’s breakfast was kimchi and scallion pancakes prepared by jake. sunoo keenly watched jake as the chef bustled around the kitchen, finding seasoning. chopsticks in hand, he snatched out to grab a thick but small slice of pancake. calmly moving away from the kitchen, he headed towards yejun who was watering the carrots in the backyard. “yejun nooona! For you!” “Thank you~”

“jungwon. jay.” yejun stared at the two sleeping figures, her arms on her hips. drawing closer, she sat down and begun carding her hands through jay’s hair. “jay, wakey wakey. the sun’s shining and everyone’s had breakfast.” “5 more minutes.” he purred.

unknowingly, jungwon was lazily pawing at yejun’s free hand. next thing she knew, jungwon had his head on yejun’s lap while jay grabbed onto her forearm, causing her to be practically sandwiched between both cat hybrids. “you two are such sleepyheads. good thing i’ve saved some food for you.”
