Decided to see what Sailor Moon fan communities were saying about Plastique Tiara's perfect Yaten cosplay on Drag Race: All Stars 9, and discovered that just two days after it aired talking about a drag queen competing on a major current TV show in stunningly accurate Sailor Star Healer cosplay is apparently a banned topic in the Sailor Moon reddit community, as the one and only post there about it have been deemed spam with absolutely no connection to Sailor Moon and was then deleted by the mods.

For context, I’m working on my very own Dewey Finn cosplay for future cons. Specifically the musical Dewey Finn, not the movie Dewey Finn (no shade against the movie). But instead of bedazzling my cosplay’s tie with generic stars & gems like the tie in the show, I’m gonna deck it out with tiny charms for a handful of Alex Brightman’s other roles. I’ve got a heart charm I’m painting a tiny clock face onto for Boq from Wicked, and I need to get some Halloween-y charms for Beetlejuice & Emile from Goosebumps - Phantom of the Auditorium. But I can’t decide which of these angels to use for Adam from Hazbin Hotel. He spends most of the show in a white robe, but he wears a purple robe in the Season 1 finale.

Randomly remembered all those times someone on a forum or wherever would ask, like, "if your comic was ever turned into a movie or a tv-show, what would you want it to be like", and I was always spewing something about obvious answers like Fortiche or whatever

BUT ACTUALLY. That's wrong.

The correct answer is that I would want it to be filmed as one of those film-student-project fan movies. Where no one has any money and their camera isn't stabilized and the 'sets' are all local buildings but everyone is very committed to making it work with what they have. And all the actors are friends or classmates or someone's parents and therefore look especially real and human.

now why did i just see some people complain about casual cosplayers, asking why they even bother to come dressed up if they're just gonna be wearing messy unstylized wigs and not in full costume, and even committed the heinous sin of not acting in character

(I am doing a super secret Archangel Aziraphale cosplay for a con I’m going to in February, with the hopes that my Crowley will have watched season 2 by then, liked it, and will shout delighted verbal vitriol at me about it

And my sibling found a $400 Calvin Klein coat for $25 at Ross yesterday that is absolutely perfect for it.

I have all the pieces. I’m gonna make it happen. I’m so heckin pleased and tickled.)
