Now that you said that there is some actual authorial intent behind unde(her)tail that somehow connects to the core of undertale. I now have to check it out to verify this. What have you done biscia. I am about to be infuriated by this comic for actually achieving this since it's verified by the only person with good undertale opinions (hyperbole but you get the gist)

listen i cannot stop you if you set yourself to this but i am gonna need you to listen to me. skip home. skip the ruins section there is literally nothing of value here. the reason i say it's a good parody is that it game-ifies the tropes of monstergirl harem isekais in a way that maintains undertale's tone of playing with RPGs in its worldbuilding, as well as the characterization of the main characters.

Dibella and Sanguine, twins with a bitter sibling rivalry and with many trick up their sleeves for each other. Both will claim they’re the oldest.

While them being siblings in TDI won’t be canon (bc of conflicting plot lines and lessons), I do so love playing with the idea that they’re related. Their domains are so similar, and I think they’re rivalry came from confusion about what made them distinct. Both have realms surrounding beauty and artistry, but Dibella leans more towards expression and decoration while Sanguine leans toward exposure and a natural state.

I was originally going to lean much heavier into the lily dynamic for Dibella, since I already associated moths with Jyggalag in TDI, but then I saw a bunch of cute moth monstergirl art and couldn’t resist. Sorry Jyggy you have to share symbols

im not prev anon, but in a similar vein im actually kind of scared for alecto to come out. imo alecto v much reads like a victim of sexual assault, but i feel like ppl will either decide she's not a "good" victim or that she can't have been assaulted b/c she's more powerful than john (yes, the same john who forced her into a body she didn't want and locked her in a tomb for 10,000 yrs. sorry for the rant, i'm just worried)

yeahh :( i definitely feel a similar apprehension about how alecto the ninth as a whole and alecto in particular as a character will be received. i mean already for the past year and some change the fandom has been hyping her up as a Powerful Sexy Barbie Doll Eldritch Monstergirl. which is fine for memes i guess but when that's all you see in alecto, you're really overlooking the fact that the only reason she's in this state to begin with is because, as you say, she was forced into a body that she never wanted and then locked away when john no longer wanted to deal with what he'd created. i also think that there's an idea out there that alecto is going to be ultra-powerful and i honestly don't know if that's true considering that, yeah, john was able to lock her away, and we know that only part of the earth is actually in alecto, another part having been eaten by john which gave him the god-like powers he has when we meet him.

my honest expectation is that the parts of the fandom that vehemently believe that john is not a sexual abuser and alecto is not a victim of assault by him will probably continue to believe that to the extent that they can in light of atn, which will lead to some shitty takes and bad discourse as usual. that being said, because she's a brilliant author i do expect that tamsyn muir will portray alecto in a way that honors all the complexities of her character and give her a narratively satisfying arc, so in that sense at least i'm excited for atn.

Astrallon, 1M%. Not only are they super close in general, but they were kept in the same containment cell back in the experimentation facility, so aside from each other and the scientists they hated with a passion, they didn’t have anyone else to talk to, really.

If they weren’t communicating with audible speech, they’d just stare at each other affectionately until their thoughts projected into each other’s brains.
